On Wednesday, IU struggled mightily against an undermanned Golden Gopher team. However, the Hoosiers were willed over the finish line by Trayce Jackson-Davis who had 25 points and 21 rebounds in a 61-57 win. Indiana was without head coach Mike Woodson who was recovering from COVID. TJD scored the game winning layup with under a minute left on an offensive rebound to break a 57 all tie.

In one of the most thrilling games in Assembly Hall history, IU advanced to their second straight Sweet 16 with a 56-55 victory. The game was played in front of over 9,000 fans which was third largest in program history and the atmosphere was top notch. The Hoosiers advance to play powerhouse UConn next Saturday.

What a weekend it was.

On the one hand, the basketball was terrible. Indiana got drilled on its homecourt by a Penn State team that played smarter, harder, and more together. Indiana was good for 15 minutes, then listless thereafter.

On the other hand, for us personally, it was an incredible weekend filled with friends, great food and drinks, and time spent in the best college town on earth. So it may not have been a win for the Hoosiers, but it sure was a win for us!

On Tuesday, Indiana gritted out a 74-68 win over Iowa, despite blowing a 17-point first-half lead and losing Xavier Johnson and Malik Reneau to injury. Anthony Leal had the best game of his IU career scoring 13 points off the bench while Kel'el Ware led the team with 23 points.

IU took the lead for good at 69-68 on a Gabe Cupps three-pointer in the final two minutes. This was after Iowa's Payton Sandfort gave the Hawkeyes the advantage on a ridiculous fade away jumper in the corner as the shot clock was expiring. The Hoosiers improved to 13-8 overall and 5-5 in the league and take on Penn State Saturday at 12 pm on FS1.

Indiana showed improved offensive balance and competitive spirit in defeating Rutgers at Assembly Hall, overcoming the early loss of Malik Reneau to secure an important conference win.

Despite an incredible 39-point performance from Rutgers freshman Ace Bailey, the Hoosiers maintained control throughout most of the second half and found enough offensive firepower to secure a double-digit victory.

On Friday, IU closed out their non-conference season with a 100-87 win to improve to 10-3 overall. It was a rollercoaster of a game as the Hoosiers jumped out to a big lead early, only to have the Owls cut into it at halftime and take a four point lead about midway through the second half. On Tuesday, IU narrowly avoided disaster against Morehead State with a 69-68 win. The Hoosiers trailed much of the night and were down 64-49 before a a 20-4 run and final defensive stop allowed Indiana to escape. The team improves to 8-3 and in doing so continues to not have a bad loss on their resume (although no great wins either).

Indiana defeated South Carolina 87-71 to improve to 3-0 on the season, led by Myles Rice's impressive 23-point performance.

The Hoosiers got off to a strong 17-4 start and maintained control throughout, though South Carolina did trim the lead to 8 late before IU pulled away. On Saturday, the Hoosiers pulled out a gutsy win against the Wolverines 62-61. Indiana trailed for much of the game but came back every time UM looked like they might pull away. IU took the lead for good on two Jalen Hood-Schifino free throws with just under three minutes left and then neither side scored again as the Cream and Crimson got several key stops down the stretch. Hood-Schifino had 21 points while Trayce Jackson-Davis led the squad with 28 points. No one else did much but the heroics of this dynamic duo was enough to escape Ann Arbor on the winning end for the first time in seven years. The team improves to 18-7 overall and 9-5 in the league and is now in sole possession of second place behind Purdue.

On Tuesday, the Hoosiers fell 80-65 in East Lansing after a strong start. IU was unable to overcome an emotional Spartans team who was playing their first home game since the tragedy on their campus last week. With the loss Indiana falls to 10-7 in the league and 19-9 overall and have an even tougher matchup at Purdue next on Saturday at 7:30pm on Fox.

On Tuesday, IU stopped a long losing streak to Rutgers by grinding out a 66-60 win. Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 20 points and 18 rebounds as they finally defeated the Scarlet Knights for the first time in his career (Rutgers was only Big Ten school TJD had yet to defeat during his time at Indiana). Jackson-Davis also surpassed 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds while on the team. The squad as a whole moves to second place in the league at 8-5 behind only Purdue and is now 17-7 overall.
