The short answer is...Exercise does not cause anxiety. Exercise will raise your heartbeat, which is normal. But if you fear anxiety symptoms such as palpitations, it can mimic these symptoms and cause fear in you and that will spark the panic. High-functioning anxiety is a term that has become increasingly popular in recent years. Although it is not an official diagnosis, it is often used to describe people who experience anxiety but are still able to function in their everyday lives.


People with high functioning anxiety tend to be high achieves, often overachievers, who are constantly striving for perfection or sometimes just trying to stay busy. They may appear to have it all together on the outside, but underneath, they are often experiencing anxiety and often stay busy to not allow the mind to think about the worries and anxious thoughts.

We can try to stay busy and sometimes this is a great motivator for some people, eventually it can caught up to us. Start now with learning how to take time for yourself.
