18 Jan 2022 | Episode #63 Andy Moorhouse - Friends of Norman Havelock Pt.1 - Creator of 60s concept album featuring some of the UK’s best session musicians talks how that 60s sound was achieved | 00:34:22 | |
Andy has created a character called Norman Havelock, who was a forgotten 60s songwriter (not really, Andy made him up!) and Andy has written and recorded a concept album based on what Norman might have written if he were around today. He's used some of the UK's best sessions musicians and recorded all the basic tracks in an 8hr session, no rehearsal, just like it should be. It's orchestral 60s pop, strings, brass, Burt Bacharach/John Barry style songwriting - so not our usual focus! https://tfonh.bandcamp.com/album/whimsica-sardonica
