Thank the Light: The Wheel of Time Podcast (Desmond McNeese (Host)(Engineer))

In our inaugural show, Justin and Desmond break down the first 4 episodes of the new series, The Wheel of Time, based on the Robert Jordan novels. We had a lot to cover, and did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself. Justin is a long time fan of the books and I am just coming into the series now, so we make a great team for the die hard fan and the uninitiated. Please listen and join in the conversation so we can all get to know this World a little bit better. In the future we will get them out one episode at a time soon after Amazon releases them for some hot after show analysis. 

Season 1, Episode 5: Blood Calls Blood. In our second episode Justin starts off with some missed bullet points from our last show. Then we spend a nice long time in the white tower breaking down the episode and some Ta'veren politics.

Season 1, Episode 6 - We meet a young Siuan Sanche, AKA the Amyrlin Seat. Moiraine and Siuan are secretly working together to find the Dragon Reborn and are also “pillow friends”. Moiraine gathers the Two Rivers villagers at a Waygate where they will travel to the Eye of the World to confront the Dark One and uncover who the Dragon Reborn is. Mat hesitates...

Moiraine and her charges are diverted from their path by an unexpected encounter. This diversion, though, reveals many things — Moiraine’s true goal, Lan’s past, the fractures that have grown in the group, and the identity of the Dragon Reborn.

Season One Finale, Folks!

We are in it now, Lighters. Justin and Desmond get into this episode and everything it means for the upcoming seasons and leaves us tons to discuss during the upcoming offseason. Dragons are reborn, gaps are plugged, taints are empowered, a whole new race is revealed, holy crap!

“Moiraine, Lan, Uno and Loial join them. Moiraine relates the news from Leya. Almoth Plain is in chaos. Hunters for the Horn of Valere have appeared on the plain, but they won't find the horn since it has already been found. A huge force of Whitecloaks is pushing out the Taraboners and Domani rather than attacking those following Rand.[1] The Whitecloaks seem to be intentionally avoiding the Dragonsworn; they publicly announce that they will bring down the false Dragon but always arrive too late to find large bands of Dragonsworn. Loial suggests that Rand could go to his supporters as he wishes then, but Lan is sure that it is some convoluted Whitecloak plot. Three boys resembling Rand have been murdered, probably by Gray Men.”

The A'dam is most commonly formed out of a flexible silver collar and bracelet, joined by a long silvery leash. The one wearing the bracelet (called the "Sul'dam" in Seanchan) is in control of the A'dam, and has the woman wearing the collar (called a "damane") completely at her mercy.
