06 Mar 2024 | Mike Harrington Dishes on Sabres Woes, Granato's Future & Lindy Ruff | 00:45:57
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Mike Harrington, longtime writer and columnist for The Buffalo News to partake in a candid discussion about the state of the team he primarily covers, the Buffalo Sabres. After showing so much promise and missing the postseason by just two points last season, Buffalo has went backwards in a lot of areas, including the standings are now a lock to miss the playoffs for a 13th consecutive season. Mike assesses several reasons why this happened with a woeful power play being one of the biggest. He also talks about how the home game environment inside the arena lacks compared to many other teams around the league, with an emphasis on the Sabres dull game day experiences not being the fault of fans. He also surmises that Buffalo should cut down on their afternoon matinee games in effort to improve the atmosphere. In the wake of New Jersey just firing former Sabres long-time coach Lindy Ruff, Mike has opinions on if he thinks Ruff reuniting with Buffalo could be a possibility if Terry Pegula does fire Don Granato after the season, citing that Ruff had interest in the Buffalo job in 2019 before then-general manager Jason Botterill chose Ralph Krueger for the job. The guys also talk about the pleasant surprise UPL has been in net and spend a little time imaging what the city of Buffalo would feel like if they finally won either a Super Bowl or Stanley Cup. That and plenty more. Follow Mike Harrington on Twitter @ByMHarrington and of course support local journalism, which needs your support now more than ever by subscribing to The Buffalo News. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 11 Jul 2024 | Bruce Nolan Returns To Talk Bills & Revamped Show | 00:58:01
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by popular Buffalo podcaster Bruce Nolan to discuss some Buffalo Bills talking points in addition to an in depth discussion about his completely revamped "The Bruce Exclusive" podcast. In early April Vox Media decided to put an end to all the podcasts from the Buffalo Rumblings podcasting network, effectively at the time ending The Bruce Exclusive. Bruce shares his initial reactions to when that happened, if there was a point he considered "retiring" from podcasting all together, the process of being a well sought after podcasting free agent, what went into his decision on where he ultimately landed with the show, and a re-debut last week that saw him rise all the way into the top five on the Apple Podcast football charts in the United States. They also talk plenty of Bills, including some of the potential camp storylines Bruce is most intrigued to follow and an evaluation of his expectations are for their rookie class solely for the 2024. That and plenty more. Make sure to follow/subscribe to the NEW RSS feed for The Bruce Exclusive and give Bruce a follow on Twitter @BruceExclusive. ♦♦♦♦♦ If you're looking into setting up a golf practice/enjoyment station in your home, basement, garage or backyard --- SimTurf is your golf oasis, featuring premium synthetic turf. 21 Aug 2024 | Taking The Optimistic Buffalo Bills Approach To 2024 | 00:48:52
It’s another edition of The Podbag today on Talking Buffalo, the weekly episode where the audience controls the narrative and topics. Patrick Moran is responding to several takes and questions, including a fan annoyed with the all the negative talk about the Buffalo Bills who asks for---and receives a completely optimistic outlook for the team in 2024. The Bills have been in the playoffs every year since 2019 and have won the AFC east the past four seasons, yet there's a national perception that this team is in big trouble in 2024, a school of thought that seems to be growing on a local and fan base level as well. There's several key departures from last year's team and significant-to-nagging injuries this summer piling up that has many worried. Patrick is among them but for the purpose of this exercise tells everyone why it's incredibly realistic for Buffalo to still keep their divisional reign intact and remain a legitimate Super Bowl contender. That said, there's reasons to pump the brakes on Buffalo's 2024 expectation and several submissions refer to that, including takes on a less than desirable early impression during the preseason from rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman and an overall failure to adequately replace what departed from last year. There's also thoughts on "Buffalo Joe" making the Bills and what may happen if he doesn't, Dawson Knox bouncing back, criticism at a Talking Buffalo regular guest and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

15 Nov 2023 | Ken Dorsey's Firing Is Deserved But Doesn't Solve Biggest Issue | 00:50:57
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran discusses the Buffalo Bills firing of offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey on Tuesday morning--how much of it is deserves and how much of it is Dorsey being the scapegoat for bigger problems. The writing appeared to be be on the wall during Sean McDermott's post-game press conference in the minutes following their embarrassing 24-22 last second loss at home in prime time to Denver, when the Bills coach was directly critical of the offense and to some extent, Dorsey. Patrick has thoughts on the firing, concluding that it's deserved if not overdue but to simply think the team's fortunes on offense let alone overall will turnaround solely because of this move is ludricous. Patrick talks about why he thinks the head coach is the even bigger problem, though conceding it's nearly a lock McDermott's not going anywhere regardless how bad the season end. He also has thoughts on Josh Allen just not being right physically or emotionally, and Von Miller's lack of impact getting to the point that his reps may be hurting the team. That plus depression sets in on the Sabres as Tage Thompson suffers a significant injury on Tuesday and much more. Ugh. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

02 Mar 2023 | A Candid Leslie Frazier Discussion With Aaron Quinn | 01:03:03
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for a discussion on several topics but primarily the surprising decision of Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier deciding to step away from coaching this coming season. The news came out of nowhere and caught nearly everyone by surprise. The guys have plenty of thoughts on the move, what may happen next with the coaching staff and a candid conversation about Frazier’s strengths and shortcomings with Buffalo over the past six seasons. They also spend some time talking about scenarios for pending Bills free agents Tremaine Edmunds and Jordan Poyer, react to the newest Bills stadium renderings, Aaron drops some details from his recent family vacation and plenty more. 15 Nov 2022 | Joe Yerdon Talks Josh Allen, Coaching Mistakes & Sabres Skid | 01:05:51
On today’s episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and podcaster Joe Yerdon for their weekly Tuesday chat, this time focusing on the Buffalo Bills collapsing in the second half for a second consecutive week, Josh Allen suddenly becoming a problem and the Buffalo Sabres in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The Bills blew a three score lead on Sunday and lost at home after leading by at least 14 points at the half for the first time since 1968. The guys talk about several key points of the game including Allen being fully responsible for three critical turnovers, injuries ravaging the Bills secondary finally catching up, the lack of a running game and some extremely questionable play calls and coaching decisions. They also talk about the Sabres, who Joe insists are still playing well despite the five game losing streak that has them near the bottom of the Eastern conference standings. All that and much more. 17 Aug 2021 | Butch Rolle, Former Buffalo Bills TE | 01:09:12
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by former Buffalo Bills tight end Butch Rolle for a fascinating conversation spanning Butch's life and career as well as his charitable foundation that has a bowling event going on in West Seneca this weekend. A former seventh-round draft of the Bills out of Michigan State in 1986, Rolle became famous in Buffalo and around the NFL as the guy who "all he does is catch touchdowns." Rolle once caught 14 consecutive passes for touchdowns. Butch describes growing up in Florida, never playing organized football until 10th grade but still becoming a big-time recruit, why he decided to attend Michigan State for college, what it was like being drafted by Buffalo---a team that stunk in 1986, the process of the team growing into a contender and much more. They also end with a TBP Fun Fact Finale, where we learned a ton of cool tidbits about Butch including the toughest teammate he ever went against, his favorite non-Bills player in football and who was better between Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith. For more information on how you can be part of the Butch Rolle Foundation Annual Charity Bowling Event on August 21st, visit ButchRolleFoundation.org. 25 Jul 2023 | The Jekyll & Hyde Bills Camp Preview Episode | 01:12:30
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective to preview the start of Buffalo Bills training camp this week, taking a Jekyll & Hyde approach throughout the show. The guys discuss the Bills going into camp with arguably their deepest roster throughout the Josh Allen era, the team having a (mostly) reset with health, new additions on both side of the ball and reasons to expect the coaching to be sharper in 2023. Conversely they all discuss how losing Tremaine Edmunds could hurt more than people think, the Stefon Diggs situation having a combustible feel to it, pressure to make it to the Super Bowl this year and a division that should be far better than it was a year ago. That and plenty more today. 21 May 2024 | Five Buffalo Bills Players Being Slept On | 00:56:33
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest to over a list consisting of a handful of Buffalo Bills players that at least Patrick thinks are being slept on going into the 2024 season. Players like Josh Allen and Von Miller and especially former players like Stefon Diggs Tre White and Jordan Poyer are commanding most of the offseason attention nationally and even to a certain extent, locally. Perfectly understandable, but this Bills roster is chockfull of some young talent that is likely still ascending that at least on some levels simply fly under the radar. The guys talk about some of them, including Dawson Knox, who saw his production decline last year between a wrist injury and the emergence of rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid. That doesn't mean people should be sleeping on Knox's potential in this offense though. This is a guy who caught nearly 50 passes for over 500 yards in both 2021 and 2022 with 15 touchdowns during that span. He's also been good in the playoffs. Also, people tend to think of Rasul Douglas first when it comes to excellent Bills cornerbacks, but Christian Benford was (very) quietly graded by PFF among the very best corners in the NFL last season. The guys have thoughts on him as well as James Cook and a pair of still relatively young defensive ends among others. They also acknowledge Buffalo's tribal chief, Josh Allen on his 27th birthday, talk a little NBA hoops, play their "Finish the Sentence" segment and plenty more. 14 Jul 2021 | Finer Wings Club: Matt Parrino & Nate Geary (Mulberry) | 01:06:04
It’s the debut edition of the “Finer Wings Club” on this bonus episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, and Patrick is joined by Matt Parrino, Buffalo Bills beat reporter for NYup.com and Nate Geary, sports talk radio host at WGR 550 for a conversation on several topics, taped at Mulberry Italian Ristorante in Lackawanna. Each week or at least most weeks Talking Buffalo Podcast will produce a Finer Wings Club episode, where Patrick has wings at different bars with a rotating panel of guests. Mulberry is known as one of the best overall restaurants Western New York and arguably the very best Italian restaurant. That’s common knowledge. What isn’t known is that serve chicken wings, let alone stunningly good chicken wings! The guys try their “Joe’s Medium”, “Honey BBQ” and the special “Tre White Spicy BBQ” and are absolutely blown away that a place best known for Lasagna and killer meatballs produces wings teetering on an elite level. After filling their bellies with food (also had meatballs) and praise for Mulberry the guys turn their attention to conversation focused on Buffalo, from the community feel of the town to what it’s like leaving for a long period of time, the bonds much of the local sports media has and much more. Of course, they spend some time talking Bills including addressing a potential few concerns going into camp. Ironically, as Patrick’s asking Matt about tight end being a potential concern (It’s not to Matt—for the record) it’s noted that Bills tight end Dawson Knox is actually at the restaurant enjoying a meal just a few yards away. It’s great stuff and this is must-listen episode for fans of the Bills, wings and the Buffalo community. Follow Matt on Twitter @MattParrrino. Follow Nate on Twitter @NateGearySports. Make sure you check out Mulberry, whether it’s for the wings or the extensive menu. Holy s**t their food is amazing. Spoiler alert---you’ll need to make reservations. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 01 Jan 2024 | Bills Survive Patriots Live Reactions (First Episode of 2024) | 00:31:07
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, the very last one of 2023 Patrick Moran provides some instant live reaction just moments after the Buffalo Bills survived their regular season home finale, 27-21 over the New England Patriots that now have them in control of winning the AFC east and the second seed in the conference. The offense was mostly sluggish if not outright bad, but the defense bailed them out in the first half with four turnovers, including a pick six by Rasul Douglas. Patrick has a ton of thoughts on both sides of the ball, what's ailing this team offensively, Von Miller being a healthy scratch, Lamar Jackson locking up MVP while doing the Bills a huge (huge) favor in the process and tons more. We hope that everyone had a fantastic New Year's eve and with the best for an enjoyable, safe and prosperous 2024! Thank you for continuing to watch and/or listen to Talking Buffalo----the growth has been notable over the past year as we near six years of being a podcast, and myself along with all the guests are grateful for you---cheers! ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 04 Mar 2024 | How Much Juice Does Stefon Diggs Have Left? | 01:19:51
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by recurring guest and frenemy Joe From Queens to discuss several topics, most notably trying to figure out if Stefon Diggs' production is headed towards the edge of a cliff or if the back half of last season was an anomaly. Diggs has been unbelievably great in totality during his first four seasons in Buffalo. In fact, he's pretty much re-written the team's record books when it comes to receptions and yards. However, his production completely fell into the abyss over the last nine games of this past season including the playoffs, where he failed to crack eight receptions or 88 yards receiving in any of the games and had a hugely uncharacteristic costly drop in the fourth quarter of the playoff loss. The guys examine what's going on with Diggs and if the productivity nose dive was more an element of the offensive coordinator in-season switch and schemes or if it's more Diggs suffering from simply getting older (he'll be 31 this season) and tons of wear and tear on him physically. They also discuss the significance of adding more and better pass catchers on the roster regardless of what Diggs' future holds and speaking of, they also debate on when the time Diggs won't be in Buffalo may come. They also discuss a little Buffalo Sabres hockey after the team's been on a heater of late, a shout-out to local media member Jonah Bronstein, some Coach Dickerson stories and much more today. 19 Jul 2022 | Review Of The Bills All-Time Best Players, Positionally | 01:28:16
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, we finish a series examining the best 10 Buffalo Bills players of all-time, position by position. Rather than spend four episodes dropping the final four positions to cover, we're jamming linebackers, cornerbacks, safeties and special teamers into one and rather than do these solo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe (@BuffaloWins) for insight on the lists. After finishing off the four remaining positions Patrick goes back to the previous ones and they review them all. Here's a spoiler alert----Joe quite often disagrees with how players are ranked at each position and bickering frequently ensues. Among players strongly argued for or against their positioning include Jerry Hughes, Phil Hansen, Donte Whitner, Brian Moorman, Willis McGahee and Jason Peters. They guys also spend time at the end discussing the wildly popular Netflix series Stranger Things. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. Today’s submissions include wondering if Josh Allen’s elite play from 2020 is sustainable as well as Allen questions on if a new contract will get done before the regular season starts and if higher expectations going into 2021 will have an effect on his play. There’s also questions about if Levi Wallace or Dane Jackson will step up at cornerback and how the Bills running game is supposed to improve with the same exact parts. Patrick also ranks his favorite era of sports and tries to explain why he sucks so bad at the “Starting Five” drafts each Friday on the podcast. 11 Oct 2023 | Bills Film Study & Grades Analysis From Week Five | 00:42:34
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly solo show consisting of several thoughts and observations on the Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film of their potentially season derailing loss in London to Jacksonville over Miami in Orchard Park Sunday in addition to studying the Pro Football Focus premium stats and grades assigned from the Week five game. Biggest takeaways from the game come down to coaches not having this team ready to play early, an offensive line that Patrick may have overrated last week and of course the season-altering injuries to Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones. Patrick also has thoughts on Dawson Knox's abysmal performance, Von Miller being a total non-factor in his return and some praise for linebacker Terrell Bernard. That plus Bills getting really testy with Patrick on social media over a few of his takes and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. It's Casual Friday on this episode of Talking Buffalo, which means as always Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) to discuss many topics, this week focusing on the AFC divisional round clash between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals as well as their list of the top 10 singers of all-time. A trip to the AFC championship is on line for the Bills when they take the field Sunday afternoon. The guys break down the game, the keys to a Bills victory, what happens if Isaiah McKenzie returns on Sunday and a discussion about the Bills window for getting to Super Bowls and if this may be the easiest path they'll get. Last week we had thoughts on Rolling Stone's recent list of the Top 200 singers of all time, blasting several of the selections. This week the guys made up their own top to list. 09 Feb 2022 | Finer Wings Club: Matt Parrino & Jon Scott From Imperial Pizza | 01:21:36
It’s a special “Finer Wings Club” edition of Talking Buffalo Podcast as Patrick Moran is joined by Buffalo Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino and Spectrum Sports anchor Jon Scott for a conversation over wings (and pizza) taped at Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo. The guys try (Jon and Matt for the first time) honey mustard barbeque, loganberry barbeque and chiavetta’s medium wings and are blown away. They talk about what they liked best about them and the vibe of Imperial before diving into a general discussion about wings and food in general in the Western New York area. Fear not, Bills Mafia as there’s plenty of Bills talk, including some extremely candid takes focused on Sean McDermott and Tyler Bass as well as opining on if players prefer media protocols because of Covid or if they’d prefer things back like they were before. They also talk Gronk/Tre, the Bengals skipping the “process” and deciding it’s time for the Bills to go all-in this coming season even it comes at the expense of high draft capital. They finish with a fun conversation about Cobra Kai, with plenty of notice for listeners who don’t want any series details spoiled. Special thanks to Imperial Pizza (1035 Abbott Road) for hosting the podcast. The food, service, vibe and everything about one of South Buffalo’s best-known places was outstanding. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss round of the NFL draft, including their takes after having some time to reflect on the Buffalo Bills draft, a loaded AFC, what the Buffalo Sabres can do to boost attendance next season and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Best MCU Movies. The Bills/NFL draft is now in the rear view and the guys have plenty of thoughts, ranging from Patrick calling the Bills draft practical to Joe saying they were afforded the chance to have a few luxury picks. They also discuss how incredibly loaded the AFC is with even more teams potentially in the mix should their young quarterbacks take another step this season. Joe has thoughts on things the Sabres can do, besides just win more hockey games to get more fans back into the arena while talking about the significance of some younger Rochester players playing in the AHL playoffs right now. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran was in attendance at Buffalo Bills training camp over the weekend on Sunday and offers plenty of notes and observations from what he saw firsthand, both good and bad. Patrick discusses Stefon Diggs just being on a different level on any other receiver in camp and his work against Bills No. 1 corner Tre White on Sunday. He also has thoughts on Tim Settle being the unsung hero of practice, Taron Johnson being ridiculously underrated, positional battles, Kaiir Elam lacking something he can't put his finger on and much more. 24 Oct 2023 | Sabres Recap, Plus Bills Complementary Football Is Stupid | 01:05:38
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective for some instant analysis following the Buffalo Sabres losing at home to Montreal, 3-1 in addition to some (unpleasant) Buffalo Bills talk. The Sabres outshot Montreal, 37-26 but were too cute if not soft with the puck in the offensive zone. The guys talk about them seemingly unwilling to get the puck in the net and fight for rebounds. They also point out very bad efforts from two of their best players: Alex Tuch and Owen Power. They also hit on the Sabres in danger of falling into a big early season hole---with five of their next seven on the road. The guys also spend some discussing the Buffalo Bills and conclude that you can put aside any still a top tier team discussion and begin focusing on if the Bills will even make the postseason if some things don't start changing quickly. One things' for certain---Sean McDermott's brand of "complementary football" isn't working out. How much of the Bills problems falls on coaching? 17 Oct 2023 | Can Dorsey Fix What Ails The Bills Offense Most? | 01:29:50
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Tone Pucks for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills barely escaping what would've been an epically embarrassing home loss to the New York Giants on Sunday night and if offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey's capable of fixing what's ailing the offense--if it's not him personally who ails the Bills offense the most. The Bills played absolutely horrible offensively for the majority of Sunday night's game before scoring touchdowns on consecutive possessions to take a lead that ultimately went down to the final play of the game. The guys discuss if they feel a little better about the big picture after sleeping on it for a night before recording the podcast in addition to focus on what's ailing the offense the most and if Dorsey will make the necessary changes in its attack. They also discuss some of the highlights and lowlights from the game, and brutally honest on if they think this is currently a championship caliber football team. They also spend some time dissecting portions of an excellent article on the Bills from Tyler Dunne of Go Long. That plus some Buffalo Sabres (very) early season struggles that has Pucks perturbed already and plenty more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Mike Bundt from Trainwreck Sports to go over several of the biggest storylines and talking points emerging as the Buffalo Bills get ready to face the Kanas City Chiefs on Sunday for the AFC championship. A trip to the Super Bowl is on the line and Mike has some interesting observations and thoughts on many things that are discussed, including the high stakes pressure with both teams. Buffalo's is obvious reasons, as the organization tries to finally get over the hump and make their first Super Bowl throughout the Josh Allen/Sean McDermott era and their first as an organization since 1994. Meanwhile the Chiefs are trying to become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl in three consecutive seasons. The guys also discuss how several key players were missing on both teams the first time these teams met during the regular season, an opportunity for the Buffalo running game to be strong against what's been a leaky Chiefs run defense, officiating historically being (strongly) on the Chiefs side in the postseason and how Buffalo need slow down Patrick Mahomes, who's always on another level come playoff time. They also talk about what they think each team fears most about their opponent, X-factors for the game and tons more. Make sure to follow Mike on Twitter @Mike_Bundt. From Jordan Poyer re-signing to not bringing in anyone to replace Tremaine Edmunds and Spencer Brown essentially being handed the starting right tackle job this summer, the guys have plenty of thoughts on some of the biggest and most surprising offseason Bills news, including Leslie Frazier departing in February and taking a tight end in the first round of the draft. They also spend some time talking Bills/NFL schedule release coming tomorrow night, nightmarish movies, rich people things as kids, phrases they can't stand and much more. 05 Jan 2023 | The Damar Hamlin Episode | 00:55:44
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran talks about a devastating week for the Buffalo Bills and the NFL on the heels of Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest while playing on Monday Night Football. Patrick tries his best to give his personal thoughts on the incident and aftermath, using examples from his past to make the sudden fear and horror from Hamlin's teammates a tiny bit relatable. He also shows gratitude to Cincinnati fans, ESPN (especially Ryan Clark) and fans from around the world that've poured in more than seven million dollars for Hamlin's toy community drive. It's a tough episode to get through for both Patrick and maybe you for listening as well. There's definitely warts in this episode for sure but hopefully the juice is worth the squeeze. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 03 Jun 2022 | Casual Friday: The Match, Jordan Poyer, Isak Rosen & Best Duos | 01:04:04
It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss several topics, including reaction from Josh Allen participating in golf's The Match with other quarterbacking greats, Isak Rosen signing his entry-level deal with the Buffalo Sabres and their “Starting Five” draft of Best Duos. Josh Allen teamed with Patrick Mahomes on the golf course to go against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in “The Match” that was televised by TNT. Joe didn’t care enough to watch but Patrick has plenty of thoughts about it, stemming from the actual golf to Josh’s rising star factor to be included in the foursome. Staying with football they also spend time discussing Jordan Poyer’s desire to receive a new contract from the Buffalo Bills and between Poyer’s wife (Rachel Bush) and agent (Drew Rosenhaus) wonder if it could potentially become a distraction. They also discuss some playoff hockey with Patrick not being able to consume enough Edmonton Oilers hockey while also rooting against Tampa because he despises their fan base. Joe then breaks down the Buffalo Sabres signing 2021 first-round pick Issac Rosen to a three-year entry contract and the likelihood he’ll be in Rochester this season before the guys finish up with this week’s “Starting Five” draft, this time selection Best Duos. The Bills are slated to face off in Chicago against the Bears on Christmas Eve afternoon Saturday with the weather expected to play a major factor. Patrick looks to one-win Houston nearly knocking off Dallas and Kansas City over the past two weeks as one of the reasons the Bills shouldn’t overlook the Bears with a huge Monday Night game looming the following week in Cincinnati. Aaron provides plenty of insight on the team and game Saturday and the guys have thoughts on four Buffalo players being named to the Pro Bowl this past Wednesday. Also, is Josh Allen officially back in the NFL MVP mix? Also the guys discuss Christmas, a holiday in Western New York that could be derailed by horrible weather. 27 Sep 2024 | Bills vs Ravens Preview & Bold Predictions | 00:43:23
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran previews the Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens matchup coming up this Sunday night in Baltimore, with keys to the contest for Buffalo as well as a handful of bold predictions for the game and a final score. Patrick's still dealing with Covid but it's not stopping him from deep diving into this game including talking about why Baltimore's just 1-2 after their first three games and why this one is so important for them to get back on track. He discusses their elite run but poor pass defense so far this year with of course an emphasis on the Ravens offense led by Derrick Henry and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile the Bills are undefeated and riding high. Patrick talks about why he thinks coaching has played such a big part of that before getting into Buffalo's biggest keys, which includes Josh Allen staying patient, finding a way to contain the run with light boxes and weathering the storm. From there Patrick has a few bold predictions, including a Dawson Knox touchdown. strong game from DaQuan Jones and plenty of field goals before the team before concluding with a close one score game prediction. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

04 Dec 2024 | Buffalo Bills Role Players Making 2024 Special | 01:04:04
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nation to discuss several Buffalo Bills topics, including spotlighting some of the role players that have been making this 2024 season special. Josh Allen has been playing out of his mind and is a clear-cut frontrunner for MVP. He's not only a star in Buffalo but one of the biggest in the league if not all of sports. There's other "star" players on this team too but it's been the heavy contribution of several role/complimentary players that've allowed them to win 10 of their first 12 games. Some of the players specifically discussed by Patrick and Matt include Mack Hollins, Taylor Rapp, Dawson Knox, Dorian Williams, Ray Davis, Austin Johnson and Alec Anderson. They also talk about the job head coach Sean McDermott and wonder if McDermott's evolved both professionally and personally in regards to his relationships with the team over the past year. That plus realizing the Bills have been better off because of last offseason's departures, a look around the AFC and much more. On today’s Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by frenemy and recurring guest Joe from Queens and they pretty much disagree and argue on a variety of topics, including Josh Allen, Cole Beasley, the Buffalo sports media and several factors revolving around the Buffalo Bills. With Joe Yerdon out in Vegas to cover the Buffalo Sabres game Monday night, Joe from Queens tags in and debating/bickering ensues. The guys elaborate on some takes made about Jerry Sullivan while going at it over whether Beasley’s return to the Bills has a redemption arc to it. They also argue about whether the Buffalo sports media panders too much to fans and go over several story arcs from Buffalo’s thrilling victory over Miami last Saturday night, both good and bad. 05 Apr 2024 | Marlon Kerner Talks Bills Corners & Diggs Trade (Live From Imperial Pizza) | 01:13:28
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo and is joined by former Buffalo Bills cornerback Marlon Kerner for a conversation centered around the Buffalo Bills, the stunning trade of Stefon Diggs and Marlon's takes on the state of the Bills cornerbacks. A third-round draft pick of the Bills back in 1995, Kerner knows a thing or two about the cornerback position. He's got thoughts on the current boundary corners for the Bills---Rasul Douglas, Christian Benford and Kaiir Elam as well of one of the best nickels in the league, Taron Johnson. He also reflects on Tre White's time in Buffalo and the pain of having to release him this offseason. Also, shockwaves went through Buffalo and around the league a few days ago when Stefon Diggs was traded along with two late draft picks to Houston for a 2025 second-round. Marlon reveals if he was surprised by the move and how things go to the point the Bills were willing to dead over $30 million in dead cap money to ship Diggs out. They also spend some time talking about the current Bills roster, a lot of the veteran leaders that are now gone and who should be stepping up as well as Marlon's old high school recruiting and NFL draft prep experiences and much more. As always, a huge thanks to Imperial Pizza for their great hospitality and killer wings. It should also be noted that the second Imperial location at 1665 Main Street is fully open for business. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 03 Feb 2023 | Status Quo For The Bills, Bucket Lists & Overrated Movies | 00:58:13
On this episode of Talking Buffalo it’s Casual Friday, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for a conversation about the Buffalo Bills in addition to some life topics, including a top 10 bucket list from each of the guys. Is it going to remain the status quo for the Bills this offseason? I guess that depends on what your definition of status quo is. Patrick and Aaron discuss how much of a priority bringing back Tremaine Edmunds is, the offensive line being badly in need of revamping, Jordan Poyer (very) likely moving on and Aaron’s excellent point about draft picks being judged without enough nuance. They also drop their bucket lists on us and we learn that Aaron wants to write a book and Patrick’s really wants to visit Ireland. That plus TV shows that need to be rebooted, overrated movies and much more. 03 Oct 2024 | Buffalo Sabres Season Preview, Plus Bills/Texans Talk | 01:05:43
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by PK from the Buffalo Sports Collective for a special Buffalo Sabres season preview in addition to discussing the Buffalo Bills big game coming up on Sunday in Houston against the Texans. The NHL regular season kicks off for the Sabres overseas tomorrow as they face the New Jersey Devils on consecutive days. The guys preview the team and season, starting with the new identity they're clearly trying to build between Lindy Ruff back again as head coach and the far more physical fourth line they put together this summer through a trade and a few free agent signings. They also discuss some of the team's biggest questions, including if Ruff can reignite this offense to be really good again like it was two years ago, how long Jordan Greenway is likely to last in a top nine forward role, will Owen Power take the next step and if this is ultimately the year the team breaks their existing NHL record for longest playoff drought. One thing seems for sure---several things will have to break Buffalo's way for it to happen. Meanwhile the Bills are trying to bounce back with a tough game in Houston this Sunday after getting pounded by Baltimore last week in their first loss of the season. It was already going to be a hard go for the Bills as it was and things aren't getting any easier following the news that Von Miller has been suspended for four games while both Dion Dawkins and Khalil Shakir were unable to practice on Wednesday because of injuries. The guys discuss that and a handful of guys that simply need to step up. That plus you knew the Stefon Diggs chatter was going to be huge this week and plenty more. 02 Aug 2024 | Joe Yerdon Talks Bills & Sabres LIVE From Imperial Pizza | 01:14:46
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by sports media personality Joe Yerdon for a conversation focused on the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, streamed live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo. Joe covers the Sabres for his Noted Hockey Substack and also does work with Bleacher Report. It's been a very busy and eventful summer for the hockey team and Joe shares his thoughts on UPL's new five-year and trading away Matt Savoie in addition to an insightful discussion on who he thinks is under more pressure this season between the Sabres and BIlls. Speaking of the Bills there's plenty of football talk as well with Joe, who's admittedly a lifelong Detroit Lions fan. The Bills look to be off to a strong start at training camp and are still considered among the league's better teams, but the guys discuss a huge aura of uncertainty surrounding them going into the regular season. Josh Allen looks like he's having the best camp of his career and it goes without saying Buffalo will need the best version of him to be successful That plus some talk about summertime in Buffalo, wings and much more. Big shout-out and thank you once again to Imperial Pizza for being a gracious host and for their excellent wings. 22 Nov 2024 | Buffalo Bills & Sabres Talk, Featuring Joe Yerdon | 01:21:20
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by long lost buddy Joe Yerdon, creator of Noted Hockey to discuss several topics mostly surrounding the Buffalo Bills & Sabres. Once upon a time Joe was a weekly regular on Talking Buffalo but life and conflicting schedules happen. As result Joe joins Patrick for the first time since early August and for only the third time in 2024. Obviously that leads to having plenty to catch up on, including how Joe's job is going with both Noted Hockey and the Bleacher Report covering the Sabres. They talk about a Sabres team that's truly an enigma this season, starting the season with three straight losses and looking on the verge of buried several times but currently sit at 9-9-1 through 19 games and very much in the early mix for a playoff spot. What's going right for the team and also what's preventing them from being even better right now? Patrick also asks Joe, not a Bills fan but a "Bills watcher" for his opinions about the team as they hit the bye with a 9-2 record. How surprised is he by the team's success so far and what's stood out for him the most? Also, a matchup is looming between Buffalo and Joe's favorite team, the Detroit Lions. They also talk about UB's football team featuring star linebacker Shaun Dolac, the reason for the social media move for Joe and many others to Blue Sky and plenty more. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s another installment of the “Live from Imperial” series as Patrick Moran is joined by Batavia Daily News sports editor Alex Brasky to discuss his life and career in addition to plenty of Buffalo Bills talk in a conversation shot live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo. After crushing some wings from Imperial the guys sit down to chat, and Alex talks about life growing up in the region and what made him want to become a sports writer. He went the small school route---graduating from Genesee Community College and operated a sports blog called Batavia's Best before the opportunity to join the Daily News in 2018 and becoming the regional sports editor in 2022. Alex discusses all those steps and parts of his life as well as working alongside the mainstream Buffalo sports media covering the Bills and Sabres. Speaking of, Patrick and Alex talk about a Bills offense that appears to be struggling yet still looks like one of the league's best offense per several statistical metrics. How much of this is on Ken Dorsey? That plus some some Buffalo sports media talk, fun facts, revealing stuff from Alex and plenty more. You can follow Alex on Twitter @AlexBrasky. 07 Jan 2025 | Buffalo Bills Biggest Week 18 Takeaways | 00:41:47
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over some of his biggest takeaways from the Buffalo Bills regular season finale loss at New England, even if the game itself actually mean nothing in addition to some preliminary thoughts on Denver as NFL wildcard weekend gets ready to start cooking. It's hard to have significant reaction and takeaways to a game Buffalo played where winning wasn't the biggest concern. There's no reason to pour over All-22 film and overanalyze things that almost certainly will mean nothing for the playoffs. Still, Patrick did watch the game back and comes up with a detailed list of four things he liked and four things he didn't from the game, including an impressive performance from a rookie Patrick thinks just oozes with potential. From there it's immediately onto Denver and Patrick gives some thoughts on a team he doesn't fear but certainly has a lot of respect for. In fact, this could be the best wildcard competition the Bills have faced during the Josh Allen era. That said, Patrick points out some things that make Denver feel Miami Dolphins'ish as well. That plus the New York Jets want to interview Joe Brady and much more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 03 Jan 2025 | Bills at Patriots Preview & Bold Predictions | 00:38:17
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran previews the Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots season finale at Foxboro, complete with Bills keys to victory (is there really any "keys" in this game?) as we as bold predictions and more. It's a matchup where the Bills have nothing to lose by losing and New England nothing much (if at all) to gain from winning. That's probably the most intriguing storyline going in. The Bills are locked into the number two seed for the AFC playoffs regardless of how this game plays out while New England is guaranteed the top pick of the 2025 NFL draft if they lose to Buffalo. That said, Patrick still finds things worthy of talking about, mainly what starters will see the field for Buffalo, who should and shouldn't and what kind of lineup we may see on Sunday. Also, Patrick points out that a Bills win would set the all-time franchise record with 14 wins in a season, which may result in them making a more concerted effort to win with their backups. That plus three bold predictions for the game, plenty of thoughts on the announcement of the AFC Pro Bowl roster that included just two Bills and plenty more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 11 Nov 2022 | Why The Bills Should Take It Extra Slow With Josh Allen | 01:04:12
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast it’s Casual Friday, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) to discuss a variety of topics, including how the Bills and Sean McDermott should treat Josh Allen's elbow injury and how much confidence should be had in Case Keenum. As tempting as it could be to get Allen right back on the field, the guys talk about the importance of playing the long game and also discuss the Bills running game needing to be better, including a take from O.J Simpson of all people. Also, Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly making a decision soon--is Buffalo still in play? Oh, and what's going on with Gave Davis's inconsistency? They also do their weekly "The Medal Stand", awarding medals who who'd be the best Bills quarterback if it couldn't be Josh Allen and their favorite holidays---with results Patrick and Aaron completely disagree on. 06 Apr 2022 | Buffalo Bills Mock Draft, Version 3.0 | 01:11:06
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn from Cover 1 for the third in a five-week series on Wednesdays consisting of full seven-round Buffalo Bills mock drafts. As always, The Draft Network simulates picks for the other 31 teams in the league, leaving Aaron and Patrick to select for the Bills in real-time without knowing who’ll be available beforehand and unlike the first two Bills mocks, this one allows for trades to be on the table. The guys have went with defensive tackle and wide receiver with the first Bills pick in the first two mock drafts, respectively. Having the ability to swing deals this time around, the guys do move up once during the draft and are stuck with some difficult decisions, especially in round two when Patrick and Aaron disagree over who the pick should be. Ultimately it's a decision that's likely to rattle the cages of Bills fans and speculation should it happen during the actual NFL draft. Before the mock the guys spend some time discussing Doug Whaley, Stefon Diggs, Josh Allen and potential early draft positions people are expecting (cornerbacks) as well as maybe one most aren't, linebacker. 03 Apr 2025 | Buffalo Bills 2025 Seven Round Mock Draft (Version 1.0) | 01:09:08
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran kicks off the first of what will be a handful of Buffalo Bills full seven round mock drafts over the next few weeks, and enlists David Tilton from Cover 1 for guidance and expertise. Depending on what you’re trying to get from them, mock drafts can be incredibly useful or absolutely useless. The guys explain that rather that worrying about how the accuracy and predictive nature of mock drafts, use it as an “exercise” to learn about trends, how depth at various positions are deeper than others and just a general opportunity to learn about more prospects. They then spend some time talking about many of the Bills draft needs, both primary and secondary with David discussing some of the players he has an eye on before the mock begins, including two defensive tackles and a corner. Patrick goes over a bunch of potential trade up scenarios over the first few rounds according to the latest draft value chart before the mock is up and running. Once the mock gets going David finds himself in a bind with the 30th overall pick over taking defensive tackle Derrick Harmon or cornerback Trey Amos. Ultimately David takes the guy he was highest on entering the mock and goes defense with the next two picks as well. There is one trade that sees Buffalo trade both their fourths to get into the late third round and nab a receiver the Bills apparently are interested in “real life”, Isaiah Bond. The rest of the way it’s purely best player available and David’s overall happy despite missing out on a safety he semi-coveted. They also spend a few minutes getting to know David (making his first appearance on the podcast), the “Air Raid Hour” show he co-hosts with Steve Mathes on the Cover 1 platform and much more. Be sure to follow David on Twitter @Tiltmoney and of course be sure to check out the content at Cover 1, Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 17 Mar 2025 | Reacting To All Bills Signings & Suspensions | 01:28:54
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss and react to all of the Buffalo Bills additions so far in free agency as well as the suspensions to Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi. It’s been hard to put a finger on exactly how free agency has been for the Bills to this point. Weird is the term Patrick comes up with. Brandon Beane clearly had a few things in mind with his approach, most notably a receiver with a specific skill set and essentially an overhaul on the defensive line. It was shocking news to learn on Friday both Hoecht and Ogunjobi would be suspended six games each for PED violations, especially shocking to hear Beane admit he didn’t know about Ogunjobi but did ahead of time with Hoecht. The guys have plenty of reactions to that news and the way a lot of fans are handling it. Also, the Bills may be relying on rookies more than they like in 2025 early on after the suspensions. The guys discuss how impactful rookies have been with the team throughout the Sean McDermott era. Plus, Joe introduces a true or false segment, Patrick has a Mt. 26 Oct 2023 | Bills/Bucs Preview: Eight Things We Need To See From Buffalo | 00:59:20
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to preview tonight's prime time and extremely important clash between the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Bucs with a focus on things we need to see from Buffalo. The Bills are in peril after losing in Foxboro last week and at 4-3 can't afford to lose another game where they're considered a heavy favorite. The guys go through a list of things they're really hoping to see from Buffalo starting Thursday night and beyond, including bounce backs from talented defensive ends that no-showed in New England, getting something/anything positive from the defensive tackle position, better start from the offense, a more adventurous Josh Allen and reasonable production from Gabe Davis. They also try to rid of the frustration associated with the Bills so far in 2023 with some "get right therapy" exercises. That and much more. Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings, featuring written and podcast/vidcast content pretty much daily. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 31 Jan 2025 | Beane, McDermott Presser Bills Reactions, Plus Sabres Talk | 01:18:13
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Chris Ostrander from Two in the Box blog and The Instigator Podcast to react to Buffalo Bills season ending press conferences from Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott in addition to discussing a Buffalo Sabres team Chris covers closely. Chris is a very well respected blogger and podcaster in the Sabres community in addition to being plenty knowledgeable about the Bills and all things Buffalo, sports and otherwise. It's his first time doing Talking Buffalo and Patrick's excited because he's always been a fan of Chris' work. Both Beane and McDermott spoke at length with the media on Thursday morning/afternoon and the guys react to what was said. As expected there wasn't any gasp worthy statements from either general manager or coach, but there's some lines that could be read between and both Patrick and Chris share opinions on what was said and their feelings about the team right now. With Bills season over it's time to start devoting more attention to the Sabres (for better and worse) and that's a big reason why Patrick has Chris on. He kind of gives casual fans who've been all-in on the BIlls but transitioning over to the Sabres more now an update on what's been going on with the team this season and spoiler alert---it's been a disaster. They talk about Lindy Ruff, how this team is dead last in the Eastern Conference, a big trade target, why they stink so bad at home, if Keyvn Adams will/should be GM at the trade deadline, how quickly this team can realistically turn things around and tons more. Be sure to follow Chris on X at @2ITB_Buffalo and check out the Two in the Box blog in addition to the Instigator Podcast. On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran has his Buffalo Bills/NFL season preview and predictions just a few days before Buffalo opens the 2022 season on Thursday Night Football in Los Angeles. After spending minutes discussing why he thinks the Bills deserve the favorites label, Patrick runs down how he projects each division in the NFL before jumping into some Buffalo individual over/unders for the season and predictions for both Bills team and NFL league awards before ending with thoughts on what could detail the Bills 2022 campaign and ultimately his Super Bowl prediction. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 29 Nov 2023 | Bills Film Study & PFF Grade Analysis, Week 12 | 00:40:59
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film and analyzing the PFF grades of a crushing overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that now has this team on the brink of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018. You saw it live during the game on TV Sunday and film study reveals the same----Sean McDermott's decisions near the end of the game are puzzling to say the least, if not cowardly. On the offensive ball it was obvious that Josh Allen deserved a better fate while defensively the film shows it's pretty obvious that any defensive tackle not named Ed Oliver is not doing much positive at all. Patrick also goes over some interesting PFF grades assigned from the game, including a mixed bag from the offensive line, Tyrel Dodson coming back down to earth and an extremely worrisome game from former Pro Bowl safety Micah Hyde. That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts from a team that very well may have to win their final five games to get to the postseason. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 18 May 2021 | Bruce Nolan Talks Bills Trenches & Strategic Roster Building | 01:12:17
On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by one of his favorite guests, popular Buffalo Bills content creator Bruce Nolan (The Bruce Exclusive) to discuss the Bills offensive and defensive lines, a training camp positional battle he’s excited to see this summer, podcasting stuff and even a strong TV show recommendation. The Bills spent very heavy draft capital on both sides of the line with the NFL draft last month, investing their first two picks on the defensive line and the next two that followed at offensive tackle. Bruce offers his thoughts on the picks both immediately after being made and now after having time to digest them. They also go over the current roster as things stand and discuss who may be on the outside looking in with the 53-man roster as the Bills suddenly have plenty of depth on both sides of the ball. They also have a talk about Bruce appearing on so many podcasts each week and the process of his time management to afford him the opportunity. That plus Bruce talks about the team that he thinks had the best offseason in the league, a Bills positional battle at training camp he’s very much looking forward to seeing---and even offers a solid TV show recommendation for listeners. 23 Feb 2024 | Fan Friday: Bills Takes Galore And Sabres Angst | 00:47:57
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s “Fan Friday” and Patrick Moran reads off several comments and questions from fans, including the never-ending Patrick Mahomes vs Josh Allen debate, Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre White's future and plenty of Buffalo Sabres angst. During a recent podcast episode conversation with Anthony Marino, both he and Patrick said that they wouldn't trade Allen for anyone if they were the Bills, same as the Chiefs surely feel about Mahomes. That certainly didn't resonate well with Kansas City fans. Questions/comments from both ends of the spectrum are represented and Patrick does his best to explain exactly what they meant. Also, Tre White is asked about as is sixth-round draft pick Christian Benford and a statement about NFL mock drafts. On the Sabres side, plenty of fans are angry at the organization and with good reason--we dedicated an entire episode earlier this week to them being the worst organization in all of major pro sports. That plus things Patrick wished he had more time for, a song that reminds you of high school, the recent Podcaster's Roundtable and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 13 Dec 2022 | Thoughts on 10-3 Bills, Jerry Sullivan & The Sabres | 00:54:02
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran goes solo and has several thoughts on the Buffalo Bills, journalist Jerry Sullivan being in hot water and the Buffalo Sabres. The Bills had a hard fought victory over the New York Jets on Sunday in wintery Orchard Park to improve to 10-3 on the season. Patrick goes over some of the good and bad he’s seeing from the Bills, including a defensive line that for now looks up to the task of replacing Von Miller and linebackers that are easy to take for granted to the other side---a first-rounder that can’t get on the field and adverse weather seeming to effect Buffalo more than their opponents. Patrick also has a bunch of thoughts on Sullivan, who made national media headlines for a bait-enticing statement as opposed to a question at the Bills post-game press conference on Sunday. That plus a few quick Sabres takes, Patrick’s inability to stay healthy in 2022 and more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 27 Sep 2022 | Joe Yerdon Talks Bills Loss & The Big Picture | 01:09:04
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by a returning Joe Yerdon to discuss the good, bad and ugly from the Buffalo Bills narrow loss in Miami on Sunday in addition to other topics. The Bills went down to Miami with the deck very much stacked against them. From playing on the road with a short week of preparation in blistering hot conditions and most importantly, decimated with injuries Buffalo still nearly pulled off their third consecutive win to the start the season. The guys discuss plenty of silver linings from the game that may benefit them going forward, but at the end of the day the Bills also blew a game they should've won, and that's discussed as well. Scheduling conflicts between the two have prevented Joe from being on the podcast for several weeks. In fact, going forward Joe's appearance on the podcast will be every Tuesday, a change from the "Casual Friday" episodes of the past year-plus. 15 Mar 2023 | Aaron Quinn Talks Bills/NFL Free Agency Madness | 01:11:17
On today’s Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for their weekly chat, this time around focused heavily on the wild first few days of “legal tampering” free agency around the NFL, including the Buffalo Bills. As of this recording the biggest news involving the Bills was losing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears. Aaron has plenty of thoughts on Tremaine involving his team with the team, play on the field and contract he got in Chicago. They also discuss the addition of guard Connor McGovern and some of the low-key free agents they’ve retained through this point. The guys also talk about some of the big happenings around the league, including a few big trades on Tuesday involving Dallas and the New York Giants as well as other big signings, never ending Aaron Rodgers drama and plenty more. 25 Jun 2024 | Our Buffalo Bills Offseason Report Card | 00:54:54
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, with just a few weeks before training the camp the Buffalo Bills 90-man roster is pretty much set, and Patrick Moran's joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino to go over the additions and subtractions positionally and come up with their official Bills offseason report card. With emphasizing that this exercise is not a "state of the team" as a whole but more so a comparison and analysis of what the team lost versus what they added, the guys go through the team positionally and try to figure out if the team got better, stayed the same or worsened at each spot. Obviously the conversation revolves around three areas of the team that resulted in the most personnel turnover: wide receiver, defensive line and safety. The exercise also shows a few areas of the team that clearly on paper have downgraded on paper during the offseason, most notably cornerback after losing both Tre White and Dane Jackson and the only addition being a sixth-round rookie who's path to the roster is most likely through special teams. Offensive line is also a downgrade after losing their starting center and reliable utility lineman while adding just a fifth-round rookie, even if his ceiling is ultimately pretty high. Plus, the running back position may be an addition by subtraction upgrade at this point---ditto at quarterback and much more. 08 Apr 2025 | Nine Great Fit CB Prospects For The Bills (Plus Sabres Are Scorching Hot) | 00:42:32
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over nine cornerback draft prospects he'd like to see Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills draft, tiered into three categories in addition to debating if the Buffalo Sabres recent hot streak is a good longer term development. It's obvious the Bills will be targeting at least one cornerback in the draft and very likely early. As things stand Dane Jackson would be in line to start alongside Christian Benford and it's hard to fathom Bills brass considering that a Plan A. Defensive tackle and edge rusher are two other primary needs and who knows when Buffalo pulls the trigger on a corner. Patrick has three groups with three prospects in each that he really likes and discusses all of them, ranging from guys the Bills could be fortunate to land at pick No. 30 all the way through a few likely early day three picks. Also, the Buffalo Sabres have caught fire, winning seven of their last eight games overall and have went 12-2 in their last 14 home games. There's a lot of things to like from what we've seen over the past month, but does it carry any significance beyond this season? Patrick makes cases for both the promising conclusion to yet another disappointing campaign having a positive long term impact versus potentially giving upper management a false sense of the realistic ceiling of this team as presently constructed. 10 Mar 2025 | Buffalo Bills Free Agency Preview & Predictions | 01:32:33
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for a Buffalo Bills free agency preview and some bold predictions as the craziest week of the NFL offseason gets underway. Bills general manager Brandon Beane has been busy in advance of Monday's start of free agency, locking up core pieces Greg Rousseau, Terrel Bernard and Khalil Shakir to long term four-year extensions before the biggest one Sunday evening---locking up Josh Allen on a six-year deal that gives him the highest guaranteed dollar amount in NFL history, $250 million.. They also said goodbye to Von Miller on Sunday morning as well. The guys have reaction to all of the big moves Buffalo's made leading to free agency. They also spend plenty of time talking about possibilities at some of the positions most obvious the Bills will be looking to upgrade and fortify--- defensive edge, defensive tackle, cornerback, wide receiver and possibly safety. Plenty of pretty well known names are out there and there's also some guys that could be great lowkey fits. Also, Patrick has a slew of Bills free agency predictions, including the possibility of a trade for Trey Hendrickson and Joe has some takes of his own. That plus Joe's Free Agency Bingo Board and much more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 08 Apr 2022 | Casual Friday With Joe Yerdon Returns! | 01:30:05
It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast for the first time in over a month, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author and Maintenance Day podcaster Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including some potential contract dissention looming between Jordan Poyer and the Buffalo Bills, a few sneaky Bills early draft candidates, the Sabres continuing to play excellent hockey and a “Starting Five” draft consisting of Best 90s Sitcoms. On the same day Stefon Diggs signed a monster four-year extension with the Bills, Poyer signed agent Drew Rosenhaus to represent him. Based on that and some tweets, including a deleted one from Poyer's wife there could be some trouble on the horizon between Poyer and the organization, as Poyer has one year left on his current deal. The guys discuss that and several items related to the NFL draft coming later this month. Also, the Sabres continue to play hockey that's drawing fans back but that didn't stop fans from relentlessly booing Terry Pegula recently. Joe has thoughts on that and Devon Levi not joining the Sabres at this time. That, plus their draft of Best 90s Sitcoms and much more! 01 Feb 2024 | Are The Bills Destined To Be The 90's New York Knicks? | 00:50:16
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Tone Pucks to discuss several topics, including why they think Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott got it right by removing the interim tag with offensive coordinator Joe Brady and promoting linebackers coach Bobby Babich to defensive coordinator. Babich has been with Sean McDermott throughout his tenure in Buffalo, starting out with the safeties before coaching the linebackers over the past two years. He's credited by players for helping transform Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde and Matt Milano into All-Pro players at their respective positions, not to mention the development of Terrell Bernard over this past season. Of course, the Bills offense improved significantly when Brady took over Ken Dorsey following Buffalo's loss at Denver, becoming much more effective at running the football in the process---porn music to Sean's ears. The guys talk about why they think staying with these guys to coordinate the offense and defense is absolutely the right call, with Patrick going as far to say he's heard from a player to not be surprised if Babich is a NFL head coach within two years. They also talk about where their level of annoyance is currently at following the season ending at the hands of Kansas City, how much blame should Ed Oliver and Stefon Diggs be getting, how locked in Tone Pucks plans on being for this Bills offseason and plenty more. 30 Dec 2024 | Bills Stomp Disgraceful Jets (Live Reactions) | 01:34:03
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for tons of live reaction shortly following the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills absolutely embarrassing the New York Jets at Highmark Stadium, 40-14 to lock down the two seed going into the playoffs. The Bills went undefeated at home during the regular season for only the third time in franchise history and first since 1990, the first year the Bills went to the Super Bowl. The guys talk about a winning effort from Buffalo in every phrase of the game, including Josh Allen making what's almost certainly one final case to capture the league's MVP award. They also discuss several players that had big impacts on the game for Buffalo--ranging from Greg Rousseau to Ed Oliver, Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman. Also Matt Milano had a few big plays in his fourth start of the season, did he do enough to gain confidence in him starting over Dorian Williams going into the playoffs? As far as the Jets, they looked like a team that quit once the game started to get away from them, in particular Aaron Rodgers, who Patrick goes as far to call disinterested. That and plenty more. 06 Oct 2021 | Finer Wings Club: Chris Trapasso (Macy's Place Pizzeria) | 01:31:10
It’s another edition of the “Finer Wings Club” on Talking Buffalo Podcast and Patrick Moran is joined by CBS Sports NFL draft and player analyst Chris Trapasso in a conversation taped originally at Macy’s Place Pizzeria in Cheektowaga before Patrick's self induced recording equipment accident forced them to his home studio set up in West Seneca. The recording mishap is explained at the beginning of the podcast. That aside, Macy’s has long been on Patrick’s Mt. Rushmore of wing spots and Chris, who’s never previously had them finds out why. The guys discuss the medium, medium cajun and hot honey mustard wings from Macy’s as well as some of Chris’ favorite spots. Of course they spend plenty of time talking the Buffalo Bills, who at 3-1 and coming off a 40-0 drubbing of Houston find themselves at No. 1 on the ESPN power rankings this week. They talk about a defense that’s been dominant, what should be expected of defensive stars Tremaine Edmunds and Ed Oliver right now, Matt Milano and Taron Johnson's injury concerns and more. They also discuss some things from around the league, including Miami dropping the ball by passing on Justin Herbert as well as a look ahead to Buffalo's clash at Kansas City this Sunday night. That and much, much more. Follow Chris on Twitter @ChrisTrapasso. 27 Nov 2023 | Instant Reaction: Bills Demoralizing OT Loss in Philly | 01:07:33
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is admittedly demoralized, quite possibly as demoralized as the Buffalo Bills themselves after the Bills found a way to add yet another improbable loss to their resume, this time an overtime defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles that has Buffalo's 2023 season on the brink of full failure. After a dominating defensive effort in the first half the Bills defense couldn't make a stop to save their life when it mattered, and for the third time this season the Bills failed to hold a lead inside the final two minutes of the game. Patrick's got heated thoughts towards head coach Sean McDermott, both for gag jobs as defensive coordinator and head coach. It's becoming a consensus that McDermott's taken this franchise as far as their going to go, but is that enough for Terry Pegula to make a change? Patrick also talks about a bunch of missed opportunities for Buffalo to put the game away, some atrocious individual player performances and equally atrocious officiating, being outkicked and outplayed when it mattered most. Is the Buffalo Bills 2023 season officially toast? Patrick's got honest thoughts on that and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 06 Nov 2024 | Buffalo Bills Midseason Awards Show | 01:11:47
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nation for his weekly visit and today the guys are handing out hardware, both good and bad for the Buffalo Bills as they've reached the halfway mark of the 2024 season. Seeing we couldn't do this show at halftime last Sunday when the season technically hit the midpoint part, we'll have to settle for the awards show nine games in, a season that's seen the Bills go 7-2 and have complete and utter control of the AFC east, in what most would consider shocking fashion. Among the awards discussed and named on this episode is Best Defensive Player and Best Offensive Player not named Josh Allen. They also decide who's been the best rookie so far, the most pleasantly surprising and disappointing players, most underrated player, the best and worst games as well as the best and worst plays of the season through this point. They also discuss the biggest storyline(s) for the Bills so far in 2024 before spending the remainder of the time going over some conference stuff, including an absolutely huge showdown looming with Kansas City in Orchard Park on November 17th. That and plenty more. 23 Mar 2022 | Buffalo Bills Mock Draft, Version 1.0 | 00:58:07
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn from Cover 1 to kick off a five-week series consisting of full seven-round Buffalo Bills mock drafts. The guys did this last year and it proved to be both fun and informative. Each Wednesday for the next five weeks leading up to the draft they’ll come up with a new mock draft, discussing several potential prospects and scenarios along the way. Some mocks will allow for trades and others won’t. Before jumping into their mock today the guys talk about how the first week of free agency definitely plays as big factor into a Bills mock draft now versus if they’d done one a week ago. Once the picks start flowing the guys are shocked with two treats at selections 25 and overall that were never expected before finding a steal at a position of need in the third round. There's plenty of depth, and explanation to round out the seven rounds. NHL season is nearly here, with Sabres training camp starting next week and the preseason on September 28th. The guys discuss some of the young guys in town this weekend for the Sabres Prospect Challenge, including thoughts on Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka. The Bills lost to Pittsburgh last week and Josh Allen didn’t look great in doing so. This is a great week for Allen to bounce back against a team he’s owned throughout his young career. The guys discuss the significance of not falling to 0-2 and three games behind in the division this early. Also, do fans even care that the Blue Jays and Bisons are both playoff-bound? Not really, at least not on social media. That, this week’s “Starting Five” draft of Best TV Comedies from this century and a lot more. 10 Nov 2023 | Evaluating Brandon Beane's 2023 Free Agent Class | 00:34:40
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran evaluates all 14 of the unrestricted free agents Brandon Beane signed throughout the offseason before training camp now that the 2023 regular season is a little past the halfway mark. The list includes one standout, a relatively solid starters, a handful of useful role players, a couple of underachievers and one guys specifically (spoiler: it's Poona Ford) that has been wildly disappointing, Patrick shares what his thoughts were with every player on the list before training camp started and what he thinks of them so far this season---the 11 guys that ended up making the opening week roster anyway. That plus information about the best traditional Buffalo wings in the world and more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 11 Nov 2024 | Defense Carries Buffalo Bills in Indy (Instant Live Reactions) | 01:14:33
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to talk about the defense carrying the Buffalo Bills to a 30-20 road victory at the Indianapolis Colts to improve to 8-2 on the season and set up a showdown with Kansas City next Sunday in Orchard Park. It wasn't the prettiest game for the offense, not by a long shot but it didn't matter because Buffalo's defense was more than up to talk. Taron Johnson had a pick six on the Colts first offensive play of the game and the defense finished with four takeaways plus a key fourth down sack. The guys talk about the unit's mostly dominating performance, forcing three Flacco interceptions and a strip sack by Greg Rousseau that led to a Damar Hamlin fumble recovery. They also held Jonathan Taylor to just seven yards rushing on five carries on the second half after Taylor had 107 at halftime. It came on a day when the offense wasn't particular sharp, mostly understandable given they were down Keon Coleman and Amari Cooper coming into the game and lost Dalton Kincaid to a knee injury in the second quarter. Josh Allen threw two interceptions, both pretty ugly and also missed on a wide open Kincaid for a would-be touchdown. That said, he still threw for 280 yards and ran for 40 more while orchestrating a nail in the coffin 13-play, 84 yard drive following Taylor Rapp's interception to put the game away. Joe's got plenty of thoughts on Josh Allen's game, big picture things with the Bills and tons more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

20 May 2024 | Why Aren't More Fans, Media Higher On The Bills? | 01:08:12
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by frenemy and recurring guest Joe From Queens for a discussion on a lot of national media and fans being lower on the prospects of the Buffalo Bills in 2024 than Vegas gambling sites, and a debate if they should be. Several media outlets, mainly nationally have the Bills pegged to not only fail to win the AFC east for what would be a fifth-consecutive season but to miss the playoffs all together. It's an opinion shared by many and while most Bills fans won't go that far, there seems to be more concern than in recent years. The reality is Vegas and the gambling sites still very much believe in Buffalo, having them among the favorites to win their division, the conference and even the Super Bowl. Josh Allen is also second behind only Patrick Mahomes in MVP betting odds. Internally Patrick is significantly higher on the 2024 Bills than Joe and it leads to some spirited debates. The guys also have thoughts on the Bills recent signing of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which again and unsurprisingly leads to disagreements between the two. They also have some thoughts on the Bills 2024 after plenty of time to digest it, should Micah Hyde come back to the Bills or not and much more and much more. 12 Feb 2025 | What A New Josh Allen Contract May Look Like | 01:02:53
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren from SB Nation to discuss several Buffalo Bills and NFL topics, including what type of contract Josh Allen may end up getting if the organization decides to give him a new deal this offseason. Patrick admittedly isn't much of a contract, numbers or salary cap guy at all. However, Matt is and has been doing some looking into what a new Allen deal could look like. He has several thoughts on it as well as a few comparisons to potentially go by. They also spend some time going over some possible Bills restructures that both make sense and could create extra cap room for Buffalo. They'll need some of it to re-sign at least a few of their own pending free agents, and the guy chime in on who they think Brandon Beane should prioritize. They also discuss what kind of financial and overall team shape the rest of the AFC east is going in and Patrick's blown away by the opportunity that may be awaiting New England. That plus where does Aaron Rodgers fit for 2025 and tons more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. 04 Apr 2023 | Should Sabres Ride Levi (Plus Bills & Wrestlemania Talk) | 01:21:58
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, this week focused on if the Buffalo Sabres should be starting rookie goaltender Devon Levi in their most critical game(s) of the season as well as Buffalo Bills and Wrestlemania 39 talk. The Sabres have what essentially amounts to a playoff elimination game for them Tuesday night in Florida against the Panthers. Joe has thoughts on if the Sabres should be starting Levi, who made his NHL debut successfully last Friday in a win over the Rangers. Speaking of that Joe’s discusses that debut along with several other Sabres items, including the return of star center Tage Thompson. The guys also spend some time talking Buffalo Bills, the best and worst of Wrestlemania this past weekend and their live podcast at Imperial Pizza last week. 05 Apr 2023 | Buffalo Bills Mock Draft (Version 3.0) | 00:56:20
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the third of what of six weekly Buffalo Bills seven-round mock drafts leading up to the real thing beginning April 27th. Unlike the first two mocks, this one has trades on the table for Buffalo although (spoiler alert: none were actually made) Before drafting the guys spend some time going over six semi-realistic trade up options for Buffalo that contain prospects who quite possibly could be on the board between picks No. 15-25. The list includes three wide receivers, an offensive tackle, defensive end and defensive tackle. It becomes obvious that neither Aaron nor Patrick are willing to move up more than a few spots. They also take a stab at the latest they'd be able to pull the trigger on getting one of two top linebacker prospects. They also review last week's mock that saw them go with wide receiver Josh Downs and offensive tackle Matthew Bergeron with their first two picks. Then it's mock time and again, while trades aren't mandatory they're definitely on the table. 09 Sep 2024 | The Good, Bad & Ugly: Buffalo Bills Week One Reactions | 01:18:08
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by frenemy and recurring guest Joe From Queens to react to the good, bad and ugly of the Buffalo Bills season opening 34-28 victory over the Arizona Cardinals to kick off their 2024 campaign. Without question it was far more stressful than most figured it would be but in the end Buffalo pulled out a one score victory, overcoming an early 17-3 deficit in the first half where the Bills looked completely out of sorts in every aspect. The guys talk about how "double dipping" actually proved to be a huge turning point of the game and a defense that didn't show up in the first half bottle down Arizona and Kylar Murray in the second half. On the good side, Josh Allen is discussed as he showed why he's one of the best players in the league. Also, Greg Rousseau had one of if not his most impactful game as a pro on an afternoon where the defense desperately needed it in addition to a few UB kids stepping up in Cam Lewis and JaMarcus Ingram. On the bad side, Ed Oliver and the defensive tackles were essentially missing in action all day. Patrick has an Oliver rant for the ages. There was also some ugly to this game too, including a few terrible officiating calls, stupid penalties and the Bills kickoff coverage. This and much more from today's opener. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

08 May 2024 | Podbag: Saying Bills Title Window's Closed Is Stupid | 00:47:39
On today's Talking Buffalo, it's another edition of The Podbag---the episode where the audience controls the narrative and Patrick Moran is answering questions and reading takes sent it from listeners and viewers of the show, mostly focused around the ongoing Buffalo Bills offseason. The Bills lost a ton of veteran players and leaders this offseason, particularly Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Tre White, Mitch Morse and Stefon Diggs. This coupled with their inability to get past the AFC divisional round the past three years has created a strong national perception, at least among media and fans that Buffalo's Super Bowl window is closing if not closed for this regime. As one fan of the show points out, it's a load of crap and uses multiple examples of great quarterbacks winning Super Bowl far older than Josh Allen currently is. Patrick talks about agreeing that the Bills window to win a championship with this core is still very much doable but does admit that it won't get any seemingly easier than it was the past handful of seasons, when Buffalo put themselves in great position to get it done. There's several other interesting submissions this week, including a more predominant running game on the way, someone locked in on the development of second-year linebacker Dorian Williams, Sean McDermott's storied history of developing linebackers and Diggs' attitude being gone a positive for the Bills. There's also someone extremely happy that Lindy Ruff is here to coach the Sabres and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. Supported by clips from Joe Yerdon and Kris Baker on earlier episodes over the past week, Patrick goes over his thoughts on Kane and why Sabres fans should support the move if he's ultimately signed. He also sticks with his Bills game prediction, pointing out an x-factor on each side of the ball. On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens shortly after the Buffalo Bills outgunned the Detroit Lions in a thriller, 48-42 to Detroit just their second loss and keep Buffalo's top seed hopes alive. The Bills offense was nearly unstoppable while following a promising start, the defense was nearly without a stop. However, Josh Allen showed why he's very likely the 2024 NFL MVP and the Bills were able to outlast the Lions. The guys talk about an offensive explosion, the highest scoring game in the league this season and tons of anxiety along the way. They also talk about and hope that this is the first of what will be two meetings between these teams this season. 24 Jul 2024 | All Buffalo Bills Edition Of The Podbag | 00:48:48
It’s another edition of The Podbag today on Talking Buffalo, the weekly episode where the audience controls the narrative as Patrick Moran responds to several questions and takes from consumers of this show and this is a heavily Buffalo Billscentric edition now that the team is in training camp and the offseason is officially over. The takes and questions are plentiful today, including Patrick being asked what player not named Josh Allen is he most excited about watching this season, pressure on Brandon Beane to get this draft class right after some recent missteps, Joe Brady having a lot to prove as offensive coordinator and some thoughts on rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman. A guy that now only has the potential to be a breakout player for the Bills but someone the team needs to be one is discussed, as is Kaiir Elam, Dawson Knox and a league-wide love for the Houston Texans. That plus some final thoughts from last week's Mafia Con, a look into a big live show coming to Talking Buffalo next week and plenty more. 07 Mar 2023 | The Leslie Frazier Aftermath, Plus Sabres Staying Alive | 01:26:24
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer, podcaster and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for their weekly chat, this week focused on the aftermath of Leslie Frazier not returning to the Buffalo Bills this coming season and the Buffalo Sabres continuing to very much stay alive in the NHL wildcard race. The guys spend time discussing the unexpected departure of Frazier several weeks after the season ended with a report being largely attributed to burnout. It’s a polarizing topic, many thinking the Bills may better off without him going forward, with Patrick pointing out examples of why that could be----while others are warning fans to be careful what they wish for. They also talk about the possibility of Buffalo trading for Derrick Henry. They also talk Sabres, who had a huge home victory over Tampa last Saturday to keep them close in the eastern conference playoff race with yet another huge week (four games) on tap. Joe also talks about the new Sabres, Jordan Greenway and Riley Stillman and annoying trade deadline complaining from last week. 07 Dec 2023 | Bills vs Chiefs Preview, Predictions | 01:01:13
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Anthony Marino from Buffalo Rumblings to preview an absolutely critical Buffalo Bills road game at Kansas City on Sunday in addition to offering game predictions. The season may not technically be over for the Bills if they can't go to Arrowhead and get a win against the Chiefs this weekend, but for all intents and purposes it just may be, even if Anthony disagrees. The guys talk about the significance of this game and spend some time talking a Kansas City team that's kind of been a mess offensively but has actually been great on the other side of the ball. Also, Patrick goes over what he thinks are the three biggest keys to a Bills victory and the guys offer their game picks. Anthony stunned Patrick two weeks ago by picking against the Bills---will he do it two straight games? That plus Patrick gets made fun of for his Thanksgiving day photo, their Finish the Sentence segment and much more. 01 Aug 2024 | Popular Bills Content Creator Joe Marino LIVE From Sonny Red's | 00:50:40
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by popular Buffalo Bills content creator Joe Marino (Locked on Bills) for a conversation on the team and much more recorded live from Sonny Red's in Lackawanna. It's the second consecutive summer Marino has appeared in person live for an episode, with last year being at Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo. Joe, up in Western New York this week from his home in Charlotte is covering Bills training camp and obviously there's plenty to talk about, including what's becoming a physical mess at safety, the seemingly return of Von Miller back to 100% and some highly contested roster battles on the back half of the wide receiver position. Joe also discusses some of the players and things have most caught his eyes and attention during the first week of Bills camp, who he thinks will be calling defensive plays this season and how important it is for him to spend time at camp to give himself a first hand perspective. That plus the unbelievable reception he got from fans at Sonny Red's, what he's doing with some down time this week, plenty of Locked on Bills talk and much more. 26 Aug 2024 | Top 10 Buffalo Sabres Right Now (Plus Bills & Yankees Talk) | 00:52:42
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Chad DeDominicis of Expected Buffalo to discuss his top 10 Buffalo Sabres right now in addition to Buffalo Bills and New York Yankee talk. Of course the focus everywhere is primarily on the Buffalo Bills as the regular season is now less than two weeks away, but the Sabres getting ready to ramp up as well soon and Chad covers the Sabres as good as anyone. Patrick tasks him to come up with his top 10 players on the team as things stand and while there's no surprise with the first two, a few surprises start with this third selection. He elaborates on why and also talks about his favorite and least favorite Sabres moves this summer. They also talk some Bills and Chad has a pretty bold take for the season, saying the team is equally likely to either miss the playoffs all together or win the Super Bowl. They also talk about the tear Aaron Judge is on yet again in baseball and how it would be a travesty if he doesn't get to play in a World Series soon. That plus Chad answers some questions sent in from fans and plenty more. 30 Aug 2024 | Buffalo Bills Under The Radar X-Factors | 00:38:17
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is discussing what he considers a handful of under the radar X-factors when it comes to the Buffalo Bills as the regular season draws very close. Josh Allen will always be the singular biggest factor on if the Bills have a good season as long as he's in a Buffalo uniform and other things are obvious as well, but there's some players and scenarios that don't get discussed as much but could end up proving critical to the team's fortunes. Patrick lists and elaborates on some including the new anchor of the Buffalo offensive line playing the way they expect, the probability that unproven depth will have to step up on that line, a smallish kick and punt returner the Bills recently traded for, a young linebacker tasked with trying to adequately replace Matt Milano for the majority if not all the regular season and a pair of wide receivers who may be counted on more than you think, especially if Keon Coleman is a little slow coming out of the gate. Patrick also has thoughts on a pair of interesting prospects the team just added to the prospects---a former first-round safety in Lewis Cine and a speedster wide receiver formerly of the Denver Broncos in Jalen Virgil. That plus Patrick really likes the Bills practice squad and plenty more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

10 Jan 2025 | Bills vs Broncos Preview & Bold Predictions (Featuring Ben Allbright) | 00:48:08
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has a full Buffalo Bills vs Denver Broncos wildcard round preview as well as keys to victory and bold predictions, featuring a segment with Broncos reporter and NFL insider Benjamin Allbright. Many expect the Broncos to be the Bills toughest wildcard round opponent throughout this Josh Allen era. Patrick brings in Allbright, one of the most respected NFL voices in the business who's based in Denver for his expertise. Among the topics discussed during Ben's time is the vibe in Denver following a nine-year playoff drought being broken, the emergence of rookie Bo Nix after witnessing several years of floundering quarterback play, the Denver pass rushers on a Broncos defense that led the entire NFL in sacks this season, what areas of the Broncos should concern their fans the most and a few of the biggest factors in what could be an upset Denver victory on Sunday. From there Patrick goes over what he considers three of the biggest keys to Buffalo holding serve at home and advancing to next week's divisional round, including the defense being on point when it comes to tackling, an offensive line that plays up to the standard they have all season, and avoiding the whacky mistakes that led to Denver winning in Buffalo last season. That plus some fun bold predictions, a final score guess from both Ben and Patrick and much more. 02 Oct 2024 | What's Up With The Bills Defensive Tackles? | 01:04:24
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren for SB Nations to discuss several Buffalo Bills and AFC topics, including a discussion of why the Bills interior defensive line is largely underachieving so far this season. The Bills have won three of their first four games and for the most the defense has played well. However, the defensive tackle has surprisingly been inconsistent if not a sore spot. Ed Oliver has looked ordinary at times and invisible at others while DaQuan Jones hasn't come close to the effective start he had over the first month last season, when it could be argued he was the team's defensive MVP early on. Patrick and Matt discuss both guys and try to figure out why they're not getting the production that at times becomes sorely missed, none so more than Sunday night in Baltimore when both were complete non-factors. They also discuss veteran addition Austin Johnson and third-round rookie DeWayne Carter getting off to very slow starts as well. Defensive tackle play wasn't the only area of this team that feels exposed on the hells of the Bills embarrassing loss in Baltimore Sunday night. The guys discuss why they think this team has both a safety and wide receiver problem, something that's been brewing since before the start of training camp. That said, the guys are careful to not completely overreact to one game and offer perspective on Buffalo winning three of their first four games. Matt also has some thoughts from around the league, including the Miami Dolphins being absolute toast already in the AFC east, the New York Jets a team that feels completely capable of imploding, the Kansas City Chiefs continuing to find ways to win every week, respect due to the Ravens and plenty more. You can follow Matt on Twitter @MattRichWarren and be sure to check out Buffalo Rumblings for your (really good) daily Bills content. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel

01 Apr 2024 | Should Buffalo Sports Standards Be Higher? | 01:21:32
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by frenemy and recurring guest Joe From Queens to discuss if the standard for success is too relaxed when it comes to Buffalo professional sports teams, and Joe also goes on (multiple) tirades over Buffalo Bills & Sabres owner Terry Pegula's unwillingness to speak publicly. Whether they deliver or not, other markets like Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, New York City, etc. have a mentality among fans and media that if you're not playing for championships then your season is a failure. That doesn't appear to be the case, at least not to Patrick in Buffalo. To him the standard in this market has been to make the playoffs, with maybe the goal posts moved to winning divisional titles in order for it to be evaluated as a successful campaign. Patrick doesn't buy it and thinks the standards the players and coaches are held to should be championship game appearances. Guys like Ed Oliver and Stefon Diggs, who've been great in the regular season seem to save their worst performances of the season for elimination game losses, which doesn't seem to carry the weight here it would in other markets. As far as Pegula rarely ever speaking publicly and never about the performances of the teams he owns, it continues to have Joe incensed and that's apparent on today's show. He also has plenty to say about a local media that he feels doesn't hold the owner nearly accountable for it either. It makes for a tense and sometimes disagree-filled conversation between the two guys. That plus their weekly "Starting Five" draft, this time consisting of best wrestler theme songs and much more. 17 Jan 2022 | So, That's What Perfection Looks Like | 00:41:02
Talking Buffalo Podcast host Patrick Moran is superstitious and after doing a solo mini-pod last Monday and the Buffalo Bills winning over the weekend, he’s doing it again today. Patrick talks about the nerves he got leading up the New England Patriots wildcard game Saturday night that led to him watching it by himself at home and why he would’ve considered the 2021 Bills season a historically epic disappointment had they lost. Instead he describes what he considers the best offensive performance he’s ever seen from Buffalo in his life, highlights several players who had key roles in the dismantling of New England, says Bill Belicheck deserves more criticism than he’ll receive and takes a brief look at next weekend’s divisional round showdown with Kansas City. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 01 Jan 2025 | Is Matt Milano Playoff Ready & Other Bills Musings | 01:08:53
Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation for plenty of Buffalo Bills and NFL talk on the final episode of Talking Buffalo for 2024. The Bills are locked into the second seed in the AFC after smashing the Jets last Sunday and will surely be resting most of their starters in Sunday's finale at Foxboro on Sunday. Of course, the Patriots are currently locked into to the first pick of the 2025 NFL draft so their incentive to win may not be the greatest either. Still, there's plenty of worthy talking points surrounding Buffalo and how this week gets handled and beyond. Among them discussed is linebacker Matt Milano, who Patrick think played far and away the best of his four games against New York last week. Matt Warren has thoughts on if the version we saw on Sunday is good enough to feel confident in starting over Dorian Williams in the wildcard round when the playoffs begin. Both also have thoughts on how much if at all Milano should play against the Patriots--weighing one final tune up against the chance of getting hurt again. The guys also hit on Von Miller playing very well last week, Mack Hollins continuing to be a great addition to the team, potential concern about Damar Hamlin's prolonged absence and if they're getting Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson for MVP debate fatigue. That plus projecting what Bills will make the Pro Bowl, some of their favorite 2024 NFL storylines around the league and much more. Hope everyone listening has a blessed 2025! On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over some of his biggest takeaways on the heels of the Buffalo Bills holding off the Baltimore Ravens, 27-25 to advance to the AFC championship game next Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. As expected but no less annoying, the main national narrative stemming from this game is more about Baltimore finding a way to lose than the Bills earning the victory. It's something Patrick takes great issue with and points out several key ways in which the Bills are not getting nearly enough credit for, including great individual plays that forced all three Ravens turnovers, game planning and committing to not letting Derrick Henry run wild on them, the Bills rushing for more yards in the first half than the Ravens give up per game, going a perfect three-for-three in the red zone in the first half and being completely clean in the turnover department on their end. Patrick also spends time highlighting how much better the Bills were in the trenches on both sides of the ball this time around compared to their first meeting in Baltimore back in Week four. In that game the Bills were bullied all over the field along the lines, and that was clearly not the case this past Sunday night. Patrick also has thoughts on people who are vigorously either defending or lambasting Lamar Jackson's performance in this game, Baltimore's suspect game plan and coaching, Joe Brady not being at his best, a few things the Bills need to improve at if they're going to knock off the Chiefs to get the Super Bowl and plenty more. Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it’s a great place to drink and have a great time. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Blue Sky: @PatrickMoranTB.bsky.social Instagram: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast

04 Aug 2021 | Finer Wings Club: Lance Lysowski (Belt Line Brewery & Kitchen) | 00:49:45
It’s another edition of the “Finer Wings Club” on Talking Buffalo Podcast and Patrick Moran sits down with Buffalo Sabres beat reporter Lance Lsyowski of The Buffalo News for some wings, beer and a conversation taped at Belt Line Brewery and Kitchen in downtown Buffalo. Neither of the guys has previously been to Belt Line Brewery and suffice to say, both are blown away by the quality of their wings, wings you don’t typically see at a brewery. More specifically, the "all dressed" specialty wing is spectacular, prompting Patrick to call it perhaps one of the five best specialty wings of anywhere in Western New York. The 716 (they describe as Buffalo hot) was very good as well while the Jamaican Jerk grilled was good but not on the same level as its two counterparts. Of course there’s plenty of talk about the Sabres, including Lance’s thoughts on Jack Eichel on his leadership and his on-ice ability. They also talk about the revamped defense, the shocking way the goaltending situation plays out, who he thinks assumes leadership roles in the locker room, a few guys he expects to step up this season and a prediction on who the leading scorer will be. They also spend time talking about Lance’s ongoing adjustment to being a Buffalonian, what he anticipates happening with how reporters cover the NHL this season with ongoing Covid protocols and much more. Make sure you follow Lance on Twitter @Llysowski. If you want some really (really) good wings, a solid selection of craft beers and some relaxing feel-good vibes, then most definitely make your way over the Belt Line Brewery & Kitchen, located at 545 Swan Street near downtown Buffalo ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 18 Jul 2023 | Buffalo Sports Topics to Agree or Disagree On | 01:23:25
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon and they do a segment of "agree and disagree" where Patrick lays out a bunch of (mostly) Buffalo related sports takes and Joe explains why he agrees or disagrees with it. On the Buffalo Sabres side they go over whether Owen Power will be paired with Erik Johnson as his opening night defensive partner and if Power will get a long-term contract before the season begins in addition to statements involving Victor Olofsson, Matthew Savoie and Jack Eichel. They then switch to football and topics including the Bills winning the AFC east again, if the division is better than the NFC east and if the Bills should be considered overrated if they don't go further in the NFL playoffs than they have the past two years. The guys also spend some time talking Sabres TV host Brian Duff, DeAndre Hopkins going to the Tennessee Titans, Don Mattingly and much more. 22 Nov 2023 | Bills Film Study & PFF Grades Analysis, Week 11 | 00:41:34
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran has his weekly thoughts and observations on the Buffalo Bills after watching the coaches All-22 film and analyzing the PFF grades of a dominating 32-6 victory over the New York Jets in an absolute must-win game that has Buffalo at 6-5 and in position to get themselves squarely back in the AFC postseason conversation. The presence of new offensive coordinator Joe Brady was quite apparent both on the telecast and also in the film room. Patrick talks about the offense using motion and other looks significantly more than weeks past and a concerted effort to have the running backs matter in the passing game--evidenced by the backs catching two touchdown passes. The defense looked every bit as strong on film and in the PFF grade spectrum as it appeared to, albeit against a really (really) bad offense. There were a few specific standouts worth talking about individually here. Patrick also talks about a pair of polarizing players not helping the team currently, Gabe Davis and Von Miller and how he thinks things should play out with them going forward. That and plenty more Bills notes, grades and thoughts from a performance strong enough to renew hopes among fans of the team catching fire. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 14 Sep 2022 | Biggest Bills & NFL Week One Takeaways | 01:09:56
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by recurring guest Joe (@BuffaloWins) to discuss some of their biggest takeaways from the Buffalo Bills dominant opening week as well as thoughts on several teams around the league. The Bills turned the ball over four times in Los Angeles last week but that didn’t stop them from dismantling the Rams. The guys talk big picture stuff with the revamped defensive line that paid immediate dividends, Dane Jackson looking the part at corner and Josh Allen picking up right where he left off last year. They also discuss a few small to intermediate concerns including Allen’s work rate running the ball and their previously stated four turnovers. They spend time talking about a handful of teams around the league without trying to overreact from just one game, especially when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. That plus a recap of Patrick’s trip to South Bend last weekend for his Notre Dame game and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 16 Mar 2021 | Jay Skurski (Buffalo News) Talks Bills & Free Agency | 01:35:40
On this episode of the future award-winning Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran has a conversation with Buffalo Bills beat reporter Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News on a barrage of topics heavily focused on the Buffalo Bills and the start of NFL free agency this week. The Bills shocked a lot of people this week by re-signing Matt Milano, Darryl Williams and Jon Felciano to contracts before they even hit the open market. Jay explains the thinking that went into the signings, how they factor into the present and future and what these deals say about the organization and Brandon Beane’s ability to get things done and keep the core nucleus of this team together. They also spend time talking about several potential Bills free agents targets as well as plenty of other teams around the league as well as speculating on a few players the Bills may be interested in. Patrick also checks in on Jay’s family and a discussion on how life in the Skurski household changed during Covid with both Jay and his wife, WGRZ-TV’s Melissa Holmes working in the media. They also completely rail on the Buffalo Sabres for continuing to embarrass themselves and a fan base quickly detaching from the team. The Sabres lost at home on Monday night to Washington, 6-0, marking the fourth time in their last five home games they've been shut out. You can follow Jay on Twitter @JaySkurski and be sure to support local journalism by subscribing to The Buffalo News. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 01 Jun 2022 | Quick Hitters: Jerry Hughes, Josh Allen, This is Us | 00:40:55
On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran goes solo and focuses on three primary topics: if former Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes should someday go on the team’s Wall of Fame, the rising next level stardom of Josh Allen, and why Patrick now includes “This is Us” on his Mt. Rushmore of TV shows. There’s been a lot of debate on social media whether Hughes deserves to go on the team’s Wall of Fame someday. While Patrick doesn’t completely dismiss the possibility, he discusses several candidates he considers more worthy. He also spends a few minutes talking about the rising superstardom of Josh Allen off the field and why it feels weird as a life-long Buffalo sports fan, and pleads his case for This is Us being one of the greatest TV series of our time despite many calling it too emotional or even boring. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 15 Jan 2025 | Several Reasons To Like Buffalo Over Ravens In Playoff Rematch | 01:04:39
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to discuss among other things several reasons to like the Buffalo Bills in a playoff rematch over the Baltimore Ravens this coming Sunday, despite a growing sentiment that the Bills are actually the underdogs going in. On Sunday night's opening betting line the Bills were a 1.5 favorite but less than 24 hours later the Ravens were favored in Vegas by the same margin. There's plenty of reasons for gamblers, fans and media like to give the edge to Baltimore----they're red hot, have six All-Pros on their roster including the now MVP betting favorite in Lamar Jackson, a stud running back and a defense that's been the best in the NFL over the second half of the season. Oh, there's also the matter that Baltimore crushed Buffalo at home all the way back in Week four of the regular season, 35-10. Still, there's also plenty of reasons to like Buffalo's chances in this rematch and the guys spend a big chunk of the show talking about them. Among them is a lot of key players back for Buffalo that didn't play the Ravens earlier this season, Josh Allen taking his game to another level, literally in the playoffs, the potential to sustain drives and keep Baltimore off the field, and a potentially impactful injury to the Ravens if 1,000-yard wide receiver Zay Flowers (knee) can't make it back. There's other factors discussed too, including the Bills being experts at harnessing at what they deem disrespect into motivation, Jackson having a spotty playoff history and perhaps most importantly, the game being in Orchard Park instead of Baltimore this time around. Plus, are the Ravens players quietly as cocky about this game as most their fans? That, other things to like about Sunday, thoughts on the Kansas City/Houston game and much more.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by writer and sports media personality Joe Yerdon for a conversation heavily focused on the Buffalo Sabres as they made significant additions to the roster over the past week via both the draft and NHL free agency. It's been a while since Joe's been in the podcast and the guys spend a little time catching up. After that they jump into Sabres talk and Joe has plenty of insight and thoughts on the team's 2023 draft class headlined by Zach Benson. They also talk about the pair of veteran blueliners Kevyn Adams added to the roster, Connor Clifton and Erik Johnson. That, plus Bills offseason drama talk, Queen of Heaven, Taste of Buffalo and tons more. 11 Sep 2024 | Bills Readying For Miami (Featuring Matt Warren) | 01:02:23
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by SB Nation Associate Director Matt Warren to discuss some final takeaways from the Buffalo Bills opening week victory before quickly turning the page to look ahead to Thursday night's important early season AFC east showdown at the Miami Dolphins. Happy to say here that Matt will be a recurring guest on Talking Buffalo throughout this season and he debuts today with some of things he's most and least excited about with the Bills on the heels of their victory over Arizona to start the season 1-0. The play of Josh Allen and Greg Rousseau is obvious, but what else is Matt happy about? Conversely, there's players and areas of concern about this team in need of discussion and Matt lays out some of them as well. Then the focus gets shifted to Miami, where the pair of 1-0 teams will clash in prime time on Thursday. The Bills have utterly owned the Dolphins during the Josh Allen era, going 10-2 with Josh winning AFC Offensive Player of the Week a mind blowing five times against Miami alone through his career. What are some things that need to happen for Allen and Buffalo's dominance to continue.? The guys take a look at the strengths and weakness of Miami and start to piece together a preview. That plus Matt has some thoughts from ongoings around the league, some talk about Buffalo Rumblings and much more.

05 Oct 2023 | Bills vs Jags London Preview, Plus Most Overrated TV Shows | 01:01:53
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) to help preview the Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars clash set to take place Sunday morning in London. The Bills are coming off their most convincing victory of the season over Miami but face a dangerous Jacksonville team that's already been settled in London since last week. The guys talk about some of the things Buffalo will need to do to extend their winning streak to four. It won't be easy and fans shouldn't sleep on Jacksonville, as they got difference makers on both sides of the ball. They also spend time talking how great DaQuan Jones has been, some fans never being satisfied with Gabe Davis----their "Starting Five" lists of the most overrated TV shows and much more. 03 Jan 2024 | Bills Film Study & PFF Grades Biggest Takeaways, Week 17 | 00:42:54
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is offering his thoughts and biggest takeaways after watching the All-22 film and pouring through the PFF grades from the Buffalo Bills six point victory over New England this past weekend before turning his full attention to a quite literally critical showdown with Miami in game No. 272 of the NFL season this Sunday night. Some of Patrick's conclusions and takeaways include it being time for Joe Brady to have Latavius Murray take a seat and find a way to get Khalil Shakir a little more engaged in the passing game as doing so springs good results. He also raves about Gregory Rousseau's great game, Jordan Poyer's performance being a great example of why PFF grades can be really stupid, a few lineup surprises and some flowers tossed the way of Bills punter Sam Martin. Of course all roads lead to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami this Sunday night with the AFC east and numbet two seed on the line---not to mention the realistic possibility of Buffalo missing the playoffs entirely. Patrick's got some thoughts on that and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatMoranTweets. 12 Apr 2024 | Jay Skurski Talks Bills, Diggs, Draft (LIVE From Imperial) | 01:04:30
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is recording live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo and is joined by Buffalo Bills beat reporter Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News for a conversation primarily focused on the Buffalo Bills, aftermath of the Stefon Diggs and insight into what Buffalo may do in the upcoming NFL draft. It has certainly been an eventful offseason for the Buffalo Bills with some of it expected and some not so much. Jay has several thoughts on the totality of what the Bills have done so far in terms of getting rid of plenty veterans (a few more surprising than others) and the guys they've added so far. He also has plenty of thoughts on the Diggs trade from all sides, including the perceived relationship Diggs had with both coach and quarterback and Jay's thoughts about how he'll ultimately be remembered for his time in Buffalo. Jay also goes over a handful of wide receivers and some other positional players he likes for Buffalo in this draft. Should it be considered a foregone conclusion the Bills take a wide receiver with their first pick? What and who is realistically in play with it? They also spend some time talking about the hugely disappointing Buffalo Sabres season that extended their own NHL record playoff drought. Jay, a fan who attends some home games shares his thoughts on the state of the team and if Terry Pegula should fire Don Granato after the season ends next week. That plus some talk about wings, golf and much more. 29 Mar 2024 | Chris Trapasso Talks Bills & NFL Draft (LIVE From Imperial Pizza) | 01:13:53
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo for the first time in 2204 and is joined by Chris Trapasso from CBS Sports for a conversation centered around the Buffalo Bills, the NFL and the upcoming draft next month. The last time Patrick and Chris got together for a remote show taping was at a Cheektowaga pizzeria in October 2021 and within five minutes it ended abruptly after Patrick accidently spilled a beverage directly on the audio recorder. Incredibly mishap history repeated itself this time too, as Patrick's faulty laptop cable sent him back home to retrieve another one and postpone this live streamed episode by nearly a hour. All's well that end's well and the guys have a discussion about Imperial and their wings before getting into Chris becoming a regular fill-in host on One Bills Live, including him taking us behind scenes of what goes in with the show. From there they get into the Bills offseason to this point and Chris provides insight into what he's liked, and hasn't about the moves Buffalo has made as the draft gets near, surprising some by actually praising the release of Mitch Morse before free agency. From there they had to draft talk and Patrick r takes advantage of Chris's thorough knowledge of this year's draft prospects and asks him about several of them at a handful of positions the Bills are expected to address, especially wide receiver where we learn more about several prospects. That and plenty more football and other fun topics today. Make sure to follow Chris on Twitter @ChrisTrapasso.
