07 Oct 2020Episode 51: John Lennon 80 with Dave Morrell01:53:03
To celebrate what would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday, we are pleased to welcome Dave Morrell. Beginning as a teen in the 1970s, he amassed such an impressive collection of Beatles memorabilia that when John Lennon heard about it, he promptly asked to meet him. This would begin a series of meetings where Dave would delight John with rare Beatles footage.   Morrell subsequently worked in promotions for several record labels, including Capitol. He not only got to work on a Lennon project, but on Paul McCartney’s Press to Play. We discuss Dave’s friendship with John as well as his latest book, Run-Out Groove: Inside Capitol's 1980s Hits & Stiffs.
