30 May 2024EP 9: A Family Affair in Dodgerland01:17:33

This is a special episode featuring two very special guests, Melissa's mom, Cindy, and sister, Samantha. Melissa's mom is in town from New Jersey so Melissa talks about their week of events so far and taking her family to the Dodger game. They talk about Mookie's mom throwing out the first pitch, Sam's favorite player Will Smith and selling her bobblehead at the game.

Melissa fills Aly in on Will Smith's charity Catching Hope and going to his comedy event with Netflix. The girls give Ashley Kelly another shoutout, Melissa spins the Dodgers 7-3 loss positive, and it seems no one is having more fun in "Dodgerland" than Shohei Ohtani.

We get to hear from Cindy what she likes about sports and Melissa has a special moment sharing her mom's incredible story going from stay at home mom to CEO. Melissa and Sam both talk about how much their mom has inspired and shaped them into who they are today.

Aly's fiance Nick is also in the peanut gallery and chimes in with fellow Dodger hater Adam about the Dodgers spending spree and his dad playing for the Dodgers. We share a baseball story from fellow Dodger fan and podcast listener, Javier. And we end the episode with our most fun segment yet - a baseball speed round with Sam who does not know a lot about baseball. Enjoy!

02 Jan 2025EP 42: The Year of the Dodgers: Cheers to our Favorite Moments01:38:53

We are ending our first season of the podcast, fittingly, on episode 42. And what a season it was! Melissa and Aly toast to the year of the Dodgers, as Adam drinks the whole bottle behind the camera. The girls go over their favorite moments from the postseason, regular season and non-baseball moments, too. From getting to know Shohei to Mookie at shortstop, to "Gibby meet Freddie", to signing Teo back, they get into it all. And with a lot of champagne toasts, too.

The girls also go back and forth with what stood out from their first year having a podcast, what they are looking forward to, and their mantras and goals for 2025. It's a longer episode today so hope you enjoy reflecting on this amazing season with your favorite baseball loving ladies, oh and Adam.

We will be taking a break from recording in the month of January but will still be gracing your feed with content. The podcast will be back with new episodes before you know it!

Until then, Melissa, Aly and Adam want to hear from you! What were your favorite parts of the podcast? Favorite episode? What would you like more of? Leave a comment so we can make season 2 even better!Listeners, we truly cannot thank you enough for your support of our podcast this year and we can't wait to include you in more episodes next season! Go Dodgers!

01 Aug 2024EP 17: Growing up in the MLB with Aly's Fiance, Nic01:23:07

Guess who is on the podcast today… Aly’s fiancé, Nic! We had so much fun talking baseball with Nic, even if he is a Rockies fan. But he loves baseball just as much as us AND his dad was a lefty reliever and played for the Dodgers for a year!

We got to hear from Nic’s perspective what it was like growing up with a dad in the MLB and how his mom handled having four kids and moving every time his dad was sent to a new team. We got Nic's take on meeting Aly, their first date at Dodger Stadium, and what he brought on their first date to impress her.

The girls talk about their week full of going to Dodger games. Oh, and if Adam behaved himself this time. Melissa gives us an update on the melons for tickets situation and sitting field level for Will Smith's walk off win.

We got Nic's take on the ups and downs of being a lifelong Rockies fan and how he really feels about Dodger fans.

We’re glad you finally get to put a face to his name even if he showed up in a Rockies jersey to record the episode with us. Enjoy!

28 Oct 2024EP 32: World Series Games 1 & 2 Reactions01:19:21

Okay guys, we came in on Sunday, the Dodgers off day, to give you all of our thoughts and reactions to the most epic first two games of the World Series and before the start of Game 3. We're simultaneously at a loss for words on how incredible the ending to Game 1 was, but also full of thoughts to share. It truly was one of the best games we've ever witnessed, and no one was more deserving of that historic moment than Freddie Freeman.

We get into how special this team is, where we watched Game 1, and how we think our line up compares to the Yankees. Aly shares what it was like to watch Game 2 at the Cosm, and Melissa shares about watching with a house full of girls who hopped on board the Dodgers train this weekend.

Oh, and Adam is back. We of course have to give him crap about leaving the country at the height of the postseason, but he shares a little about his trip and what he thinks of the series so far.The girls try not to go too deep into the synchronicities of this series but can't help but acknowledge how special it seems to be. Of course, they pay respect to a huge loss the Dodgers community suffered in losing Fernando Valenzuela. The girls give their feelings and predictions heading into Yankee Stadium. Leave a comment and let us know how you're feeling! 2 more wins... Go Dodgers!

05 Dec 2024EP 39: David Vassegh, Dodgers Reporter & Host of Dodger Talk00:30:50

We are thrilled to have David Vassegh on the podcast today! David is a reporter for the Dodgers, host of Dodger Talk, and "the voice of the fans". Melissa was especially excited to talk to David as she has been listening to Dodger Talk for years, as I'm sure you have to!

Melissa learns where David's love for the Dodgers came from and how his fandom has changed since working for the team. Melissa even teases David about bribing players with Travis Mathew swag. They talk about Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and other players David grew close to.

David tells Melissa when he knew the team was different this year, the moment on the celebration stage with Clayton Kershaw, seeing the parade through Teoscar Hernandez' eyes and why the world series hangover is real.

David shares how excited he is about the Blake Snell signing and why the Dodgers already have a new motivation going into the 2025 season.

We are so grateful to David for coming on the podcast and hope you enjoy this conversation as much as Melissa did!

06 Jun 2024EP 10: Size Doesn't Always Matter in Baseball01:20:31

Melissa and Aly are back for episode 10. The girls reflect on reaching double digits, how they are feeling being 10 episodes in, what they've learned about themselves and about having a podcast.

The girls discuss leaving games early, former signings that didn't seem to fit the clubhouse culture like Trevor Bauer and Manny Machado. They discuss getting swept by the Reds, and then sweeping the Mets. They rave about Daniel Hudson walking off the mound shh-ing the crowd at Citifield and all the drama with the Mets.

They talk about what brings out the worst in them, and we learn Aly once punched Adam when things got a bit too competitive during a board game. Melissa reflects on how to not take things personally when arguing about sports and gives her take on why size doesn't always matter in baseball.

The girls end the episode with a game of would you rather, with the rather being getting a home run hug for Albert Puljos. They wrap the episode sharing their connections to Charlie Steiner and Orel Hershiser. Enjoy!

13 Mar 2025EP 44: Baseball is back! New Season, Places & Faces01:07:51

Baseball is back, and so are we! We couldn't be more excited to be back behind our microphones talking Dodger baseball. So much has happened during the off season, and we get into all of it. We have a lot in store for you this episode, including an announcement toward the end.

I fill Aly in about our trip to spring training, calling home runs and my favorite things about watching our boys in Arizona. We talk about running into Stan Kasten at Camelback Ranch, Dave Roberts' new contract, what players we're excited to watch, and so much more.

Some changes to the podcast are happening. We are so excited to be introducing Jaclyn Ruiz into the podcast! Jaclyn has a brand called Sol Boutique and makes incredible game day outfits. As you will hear, Jaclyn reached out after finding our podcast and we became instant friends. Born and raised in LA and being a huge Dodger fan, it couldn't be more perfect to have her be my new co-host!

We are so grateful for all of Aly's contributions in season 1 but as you will hear, she will be taking a step back from the podcast. But first, the whole Talk Dodgers to Me team is off to Tokyo to cheer on our boys.

See you in Japan!

25 Apr 2024EP 4: There's No Crying in Baseball01:20:08

In this episode, Melissa and Aly talk about going to their first game together this season. The girls get heated over how obnoxious their producer Adam was at the game, as he shows no mercy with snarky behind the camera comments.

They share the new stadium food they tried and how awesome it was to chat with fellow baseball fans at the game.

Since this episode was recorded on Jackie Robinson Day, they talk about what he meant to the world and to baseball. They go into the Dodgers dirty rivalry with the Padres and how they know baseball players by their butts, because who doesn't?

Their love of Joe Kelly continues, a nod to former Dodger Kenley Jansen and updates on all things Shohei Ohtani. The girls wrap by sharing their favorite sports movies and want to know yours! Leave a comment telling Melissa & Aly your favorite sports movie.

11 Jul 2024EP 14: Actor Matt Barr on Growing up a Rangers fan, Meeting Nolan Ryan & what he texts Justin Verlander00:56:58

So excited to have my friend and actor Matt Barr on the podcast this week! You've seen him in Walker Independence, The Layover, One Tree Hill, and the baseball movie, Undrafted, which we get into. Matt dishes on if he was actually playing baseball in the movie to his speechless moment meeting his childhood hero, Nolan Ryan.

Being from Texas, Matt grew up a Rangers fan and I was pleasantly surprised to learn of his mutual hate of the Astros which we bond over the whole episode. Matt even shares what he texts Justin Verlander after becoming friends with him.

Matt and I talk about our decade long friendship, being in each others Covid bubble, which Dodgers he loves watching right now, how we need to get Justin Verlander and Clayton Kershaw in a ping pong matchup and much more. Enjoy!

12 Sep 2024EP 23: Women in Baseball with Katie Firestone01:06:07

Today we have Katie Firestone on the podcast. You guys are going to be blown away with all Katie has done and what she is currently doing to create positive change in the stress mindset for baseball players, and to champion women’s baseball.

What has she done? Oh, just created one of the first ever women’s baseball teams at her college of University of Washington… and then won back to back championships!!

Without opportunities to play baseball growing up, Katie started working in analytics in highschool and became the Student Analytics Manager for the men’s baseball team at the University of Washington. Throughout college, Katie did multiple research internships before narrowing in on sports psychology, specifically the stress mindset in college baseball players.

We get into all her research, how she sees it helping baseball players and where she hopes to see women’s baseball in 10 years. She also tells fun stories of being a lifelong Dodger fan, crashing Joc Peterson’s rehearsal dinner and running into Justin Turner at the Hollywood Bowl.

Shining a light on women in sports is one of the reasons I started this podcast so I want to thank Katie for coming on and for all she is doing to not only be an advocate for women in baseball, but to be someone creating opportunities.

Get involved by donating to Baseball for All, sharing this episode and continuing the conversation! Check out the documentary See Her, Be Her airing on teh MLB Network between games 2 and 3 of the World Series.

23 May 2024EP 8: Zack Parker - Former Professional Baseball Player 01:28:56

This week, Melissa sits down with Zack Parker, a former professional baseball player and current writer, producer and recalibration coach. Melissa and Zack discuss how they met through friend of the podcast, Ron Shelton, and Zack shares the great story of how he met Ron. Zack explains where his connection to baseball started, how he got drafted and what spending 10 years playing professional baseball was like.

The "angry win" theme continues and Zack gives his insights into pitching injuries, what the Dodgers are missing and what he sees for them this season. He talks about players going for individual goals, how hard the mental game is and how he transitioned from baseball to the entertainment industry to becoming a recalibration coach.

Melissa and Zack connect on having growth mindsets and being the hero in your own story. Melissa explains what happened leading up to her becoming a life coach and how she mentally sets herself up for success. Zack talks about how his past playing baseball bled into the work he is doing now leading past life explorations and working with the voice in your head.

It's amazing where conversations surrounding baseball can lead you, and this one is full of all things Dodger baseball, self help, and Melissa and Zack's shared love for Clayton Kershaw. Hope you enjoy!

07 Nov 2024EP 34: World Series Celebrations: Thoughts & Reflections01:07:31

It's one week since we won the World Series, and Melissa and Aly are still on cloud nine. The girls are dedicating this episode to Fernando Valenzuela as it is episode 34. They talk and reflect on the postseason, stand out moments and how many times they have rewatched Freddie Freeman's grand slam.

They share what it was like attending the World Series Celebration at Dodger Stadium and how much they enjoyed speeches from players, the energy from Dodger fans, meeting TDTM listeners, and this overdue celebration.

We talk about what this win means to us as Dodger fans, what it means for the team now and what it means for them moving forward.

And the fights with Adam continue as he reminds the girls yet again, they are spoiled Dodger fans. Good luck to Adam and his Cubs on opening day against the World Series Champs.

Make sure to check out our website for our World Series merch and e-mail us if you want to be on one of our fan episodes - talkdodgerstome@gmail.com. We are so grateful for all of you listeners!

03 Oct 2024EP 26: Orel Hershiser00:56:41

Boy do we have a treat for you today! Not only do we have World Series champ, MVP, Cy Young Winner & current Dodger Broadcaster, Orel Hershiser on the podcast today, but we went on the road and recorded at Legends' Attic. If you usually only listen to our episodes, this is one to watch because we are sitting in Dodger heaven! Have you guys been to Legends' Attic? Orel opened up a memorabilia store in Claremont, CA featuring the most incredible sports history including pieces from his own amazing career. We stayed hours longer than we planned because of how in awe we were by everything surrounding us, but also the amazing people. You walk in and feel right at home with the incredible staff (including Orel's business partner Eddie who you'll get to meet on the podcast in a few weeks!!) We get stories from Orel about his favorite pieces in the store, we ask him about the current Dodgers, all his thoughts on Shohei Ohtani, and what it's like continuing his career in the broadcast booth. We are so excited to share this episode with you all! Orel is just the best - he is so kind, genuine, gracious & as you know, the best storyteller ever. Let us know when you're going to visit Legends' Attic - maybe we'll join!

26 Sep 2024EP 25: Cheers to Shohei!01:22:01

Episode 25 is dedicated to Shohei Decoy Ohtani, yes we decided that is his middle name. After praising the historic feat of Shohei's incredible game going 6-6 and starting the 50/50 club, we are running out of adjectives to describe how amazing he is and how lucky we are that he's on our team!

Besides going on and on about Shohei, Melissa tells us about the Women in Sports Event she attended at Dodger Stadium. For her second year in a row, the event exceeded expectations and she brought lots of Dodgers goodies and stories from the event.

The girls talk about more starting pitchers being out for the season and all of their nerves heading into the postseason. With Adam's usual Dodger hate, the girls try to remain as optimistic as possible as somehow their billion dollar Dodgers are becoming the underdogs. Maybe Melissa's lucky Dodger's candle will help!

27 Mar 2025EP 45: The Girls Go to Tokyo!01:19:13

This is a very special episode as we are recording from Tokyo! You heard us manifest this trip and work hard to make it happen... and we made it to Japan!

We talk all about our trip, everything we packed into each day including a rainy day in Shibuya, taking the bullet train to Kyoto, a traditional tea ceremony, all the food we tried, and of course, watching our boys in Game 1 at the Tokyo Dome.

We knew Shohei was famous in Japan, but he truly is everywhere! On every billboard, commercial, and the silence when he got up to bat left us all speechless.

We are all taking so much back to LA with us from the Japanese culture, the respect and mindfulness we experienced there, and are so excited to bring you into our trip.

We hope you enjoy hearing about our adventures in Tokyo! We can't wait to go back!

27 Jun 2024EP 13: The City of Dreamers & Sunflower Seeds01:12:36

Aly is back with Melissa this week for lucky episode 13! The girls catch up on everything going on with the Dodgers including the Yankee series, the fiery streak of Teo, and how happy they were to see Corey Seager back at Dodger Stadium. They get into the Dodgers favorite Taylor Swift song, their favorite FRIENDS episodes and all the sunflower seed celebrations happening.

They talk about players with a certain X-Factor, Dodger injuries and Melissa's belief that Mookie's IL stint will turn into a forceful comeback. They try to hold back tears discussing the viral video of Joe Davis sharing a voicemail from Vin Scully and get a laugh as Adam thinks he was generated by A.I.

The girls share their thoughts on the new city connect uniforms, and of course Adam argues with Melissa when she gets in her feels about the meaning behind them.

They talk about the MLB player poll that recently came out and go through some stand outs. Aly tells Melissa about a secret underground bar at Dodger Stadium and Melissa quizzes Aly in a game of two truths and a lie. Enjoy!

13 Jun 2024EP 11: Surrender to the Baseball Gods01:10:09

Melissa is back behind the mic and got Adam to join her for this one, but per usual, he refuses to come out from behind the camera. However, their fun banter continues as he talks Melissa down again and again from overreacting to the slump the Dodgers were in before heading into the Yankee series.

They talk about trap games while getting into the Pittsburg series and the anticipated Ohtani/Skenes matchup. They talk about the medias influence on players and whether it's good or bad for sports.

They talk about favorite stadiums they've been to, how Kershaw's return may be the fire the Dodgers need, and what player Melissa thinks the team needs.

Melissa mentions how repeated errors by baseball players seem to always end up in hits which brings back the point of angry winning and leads us to believe that the baseball gods always seem to even things out. Enjoy!

19 Dec 2024EP 41: MLB Hot Stove with the Girls01:10:28

Melissa and Aly are zoom-ing for today's episode as Melissa is in NJ recording from her mom's office. Melissa shares with everyone about the loss of her grandmother and plays a touching voicemail so everyone can get a glimpse of how sweet and special her Nana was.

The girls get into all the trade talk with the Dodgers and around the league. They give their thoughts on the Juan Soto contract, and Melissa fills us in on what her Mets loving family members think about it. Adam breaks the news to the girls about Cody Bellinger signing with the Yankees mid recording, getting their real time reactions. They express their frustration over Teo not signing with the Dodgers yet, their thoughts on Blake Snell, Michael Conforto, and discuss where players like Buehler, Kike and Joe Kelly might go.

Aly gives Melissa her Christmas gift which couldn't BE any more perfect. There's a surprise guest who pops in giving you all a face to match the "Happy Freddie Freeman Friday" texts Melissa often posts to our Instagram stories. They give ideas for holiday gifts, fight with Adam per usual, and give their thoughts and hopes for the 2025 season.

Melissa, Aly and Adam wish you and your families a very happy holiday!! We want Teo for Christmas!! Let us know what or who you're asking the Dodgers for!

29 Aug 2024EP 21: Dodgers All Star Nominated Ball Boy, Sean Harris01:20:01

I know we say this every time, but we have a really fun episode for you today! We got to sit down with all-star nominated Ball Boy for the Dodgers, Sean Harris. We could not have been any more excited to chat with Sean, as you’ll hear from us trying to calm ourselves down to let him answer our questions. First of all, he showed up with two balls for us, so he immediately won us over.

We asked Sean every question you can imagine from growing up being a fan of the Dodgers, to how he got his job, to how his fandom has changed since working for the Dodgers, who he plays catch with, how his all star nomination came about, and who has made the biggest impression on him.

We asked Sean how he's feeling about the team this year, what the clubhouse culture is like and if he thinks the team has that fire we've been talking about all season long.

Sean had only the best things to say about the Dodgers organization, and hey, maybe he'll throw you a ball at the next game!

Leave us a comment and help us come up with something to say to Sean when you see him at a game so he knows you listened to his episode!

17 Oct 2024EP 29: Silencing the Critics: Dodgers in the NLCS01:23:49

As Melissa predicted last week, the Dodgers are in the NLCS! 33 shutout innings and an epic series against the Padres, the girls get into it all. They share all their thoughts about games 4 & 5 of the NLDS and get into the beginning of the NLCS series, excitedly sharing their experience at Game 1.

Aly is on the IL today and doing her best to pull it together like Freddie Freeman is lately, letting you in on what it's been like to live with endometriosis for 17 years. We are grateful to her sharing her story.

Melissa chats about her heated family group chat as the Mets and Dodgers play each other. She talks about growing up with her cousin Justin who died in 2023 at 39 years old, how big a Mets fan he was and how her family thinks he is Grimace, the purple monster bringing luck to the Mets.

Also, something crazy happened today. Adam said something nice about the dodgers. If you're just listening, you might want to take a moment to watch the girls faces as they listen to him in shock.

Mookie magic, our teams chemistry, the bullpen on fire, Dave Roberts finally getting the praise he deserves, boy is it fun to talk about the Dodgers silencing the critics! They may have fallen in Game 2 but the girls are thrilled to see their fight. And they make their predictions for the rest of the series.

Lastly, we encourage anyone who can relate to Aly with endometriosis or Melissa with grief to reach out. You are not alone and we are always here to talk or support.

10 Oct 2024EP 28: Dodgers vs. Padres: Spice, Sparkle & a New Heated Rivalry01:11:27

We recorded this episode on the off day between Games 2 and 3 of the Dodgers/Padres series, and good thing we had fun outfits today because they were the only thing lifting our spirits from the insanity that was Game 2. We gave our every thought, feeling, and frustration with how our fans acted and the Padres players reacted. We have a message for our fans and came up with an idea of what to do to Tatis for Game 5. Let's stay classy, and not stoop to their level Dodger fans!

On a positive note, reliving Shohei's 3 run homer and seeing the fight in our team in the first game of the postseason was everything we've been waiting for. We give an update on our feelings about the Dodgers/Padres rivalry compared to the Dodgers/Giants rivalry. And I think our blood boiling conversation quieted Adam down a bit today.

We also have a new favorite addition to the podcast, our pepper-grinder bat from Mill House. Not only is it the perfect gift for the foodie/baseball fan in your life, but they are giving our listeners 10% off by entering talkdodgerstome at checkout! Aly is always eating dinner right before we record, so flipping over the bat and surprising her with the fact that it's also a pepper grinder was so much fun. Make sure to tag us and them when you get yours!

28 Nov 2024EP 38: Thankful for the fans - Fan Episode #201:16:24

What better way to share how grateful we are for all of you on Thanksgiving than to bring you into the podcast. We're releasing our second fan episode where Melissa sat down and chatted with three Dodger fans - Brian, Jose and Sonia.

Melissa asked all three what made them Dodger fans and what this World Series win meant to them. She learns from them, talks Dodgers with them, and again realizes our love for the Dodgers is so much bigger than baseball. Please enjoy Brian, Jose and Sonia!

If you want to be on our next fan episode, please email us at talkdodgerstome@gmail.com and let us know how you became a Dodger fan and why you love baseball!

Happy Thanksgiving!

19 Nov 2024EP 36: Miggy Ro at Legends' Attic with Orel Hershiser00:31:12

Recording from Legends' Attic at the Miguel Rojas event last weekend, we got two World Series Champions on the podcast! With Orel Hershiser filling in as co-host, Miggy Ro came on to chat before he spent the next couple hours signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Melissa couldn't be more thrilled to meet and chat with Miggy. (She even made him cookies.)

They talk about the World Series win, what the future holds for Miggy, and why it's one thing to play in the big leagues, and another to play for the Dodgers.

The rest of the episode is cut from segments of the night as Melissa plays co-host/assistant to Orel as they chat and he meets fans and signs autographs. An extended version of the meet and greet can be found on our Youtube channel.

This was such a fun event. Melissa could not have been more thrilled to meet fellow Dodger fans and listeners of the podcast. We thank the whole team at Legends' Attic for including us in this night and Orel Hershiser for coming on the podcast for the second time and being such a great friend and supporter of Talk Dodgers to Me.

19 Sep 2024EP 24: Dodger Blues & Adam Boos01:21:26

Well, the Talk Dodgers to Me team went to Game 3 of the Dodgers/Cubs series, and good thing it was a Dodgers win because the girls had quite enough of Adam's obnoxious winning behavior and threats to bring a broom to our next recording.

We learned you can bring food into baseball stadiums as Aly brought dinner to the game. And even after 11 years of living in LA and working on this podcast, we learned that Adam somehow hates the Dodgers more than ever.

Besides fighting with Adam most of this episode, the girls are having some Dodger blues as more of our starting pitchers go down. However, even with a season plagued with injuries, Melissa and Aly are still staying as optimistic as possible.

24 Oct 2024EP 31: Jean Fruth, Director of See Her Be Her 00:52:13

We are so honored to have Jean Fruth on the podcast today. Jean is a sports photographer, co-founder of Grassroots Baseball, and the executive producer and director of a new documentary coming out called See Her Be Her. The documentary follows seven women playing baseball at the highest level all over the world. Melissa talked to Jean about her journey to get to where she is now, where her love of baseball comes from, what she's learned about athletes from photographing them, and what inspired her to create this documentary. Melissa shares with Jean what See Her Be Her means to her. They discuss the women in the film - dissolving misconceptions around the mission of women's baseball and how we are moving toward creating a league of their own. They talk about how the MLB has been supportive, how Billie Jean King became an executive producer and how former players like Cal Ripken Jr, and Jimmy Rollins got involved. See Her Be Her will be airing on the MLB Network in between Games 2 & 3 of the World Series on October 27. All information about the documentary and the companion book available for purchase can be found on seeherbeher.com.

22 Oct 2024EP 30: THE DODGERS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!01:00:08

We had to add an extra episode this week for you because well, we're going to the World Series! We are so proud of our boys and even though Adam is out of the country, Aly is in OKC and we could barely figure out how to record a zoom, we did it and are so excited to share all our thoughts with you.

We pick up where we left off sharing all our thoughts on the rest of the Dodgers/Mets series, how we felt about Game 5 and 6, and what it's been like to watch this incredible Dodger team playing with grit and heart. We talk about the post game speeches, champagne showers, and the brotherhood of this team.

Melissa shares a text from her aunt who let her in on her feelings about the Dodgers after we beat her Mets. She also talks about attending a screening for See Her Be Her, an incredible documentary coming out on Oct 27 on the MLB Network.

The girls share all their feelings going into the World Series against the Yankees and how epic this is for baseball, for baseball fans, and for them! They share their predictions for World Series MVP, where they will be watching, and why 2024 is the year of the Dodgers!

Hope you enjoy this added episode this week! Leave us your comments on your thoughts on the upcoming series!!

22 Aug 2024EP 20: Dr. LA Thoma Gustin01:18:29

We have an awesome guest for you today. Meet Dr. LA Thoma Gustin, a former D1 athlete, physical therapist, personal trainer and founder of fitness app Dare to be Active.

LA talks to us about growing up in a sports family with parents who were both athletes and how she went from being jobless to creating one of the most successful fitness apps, Dare to be Active.

Through rehabbing an injury of her own, she got into physical therapy and wanted to change the way online workouts were, by providing doctor backed movements for injury prevention workouts.

She’s combining fitness and rehab in a unique workout program so you can move confidently, train properly, and work out efficiently. It’s a non intimidating workout that has doctors behind it so you know that you are moving in the right way… because no one wants to do an IL stint!

Oh, and LA has become a huge Dodger fan through her husband Grant, and Kike Hernandez of course! Don’t worry, we asked her about all of it.

We got to hear about Grant throwing the first pitch at Citi Field recently, and how they became a viral meme at a Dodgers World Series game in 2018.

Oh, and if you are watching this episode - we hope you get a kick out of all the people walking in the background. We usually record after the workday, but we did this one during lunch hour!

We also want to thank LA for taking the time to chat with us as she is very soon about to welcome her second baby. Congrats to LA & Grant!

18 Apr 2024EP 3: Sorry Can't Baseball Bye01:13:33

Melissa and Aly are back for Episode 3! This time they get deep sharing what it was like to put their first podcast episode out to the world and the mix of emotions that came with it. They talk about what's going right and wrong with the Dodgers so far with the teams first series win and loss.

They give their opinions on the increase of injuries to pitchers. They also give an update on the Shohei Ohtani interpreter gambling drama and a story of the fan who caught his first home run ball.

The girls torture Adam with personal questions and endure his smart comments about the Cubs beating the Dodgers. And as always, they share personal stories from hitting BP off a former MLB pitcher to Melissa’s date at the batting cages.

Lastly, Melissa and Aly want to hear YOUR baseball stories! Why do you love baseball? What’s your favorite baseball memory? Send them a message here or on their Instagram @talkdodgerstome and you may hear your story in a future episode.

25 Jul 2024EP 16: Let's Talk About Teo01:11:16

Melissa and Aly are back with a lot of thoughts today, and Adam decided to pull a Mookie Betts and annoy the girls by wearing sunglasses behind the camera.

The girls recap the episode with Kayla and Molly, Melissa's trip back to NJ, and realize they both are going to Dodger games this weekend.

From more pitchers going on the IL, to losing badly in the 9th inning, the Dodgers need a lot of help and the girls get into all of it. They discuss what former Dodgers they might want back, and who else they want their team to pursue at the trade deadline.

The girls talk about the all star game, the national anthem, and how happy they are about Teo winning the Home Run Derby. However, they voice their disappointment in some of their players not giving Teo a well deserved sunflower seed shower and Melissa admits she is crushing on the Phillies.

They ask Adam about the latest ballpark he visited and get into the forgettable and not so forgettable names. Aly talks about playing in a rec league softball game and Adam even spills out some fun facts.

Another fun episode full of baseball conversation with the Talk Dodgers to Me team. Make sure to follow us and leave a comment to let us know how you're liking the podcast!

07 Oct 2024EP 27: Bagging Success: A Dodger Fan's Life in San Diego01:06:54

*Special episode drop for our collab with Your Sporty Bag!*

Melissa sat down with Liz, creator of Your Sporty Bag, to learn all about how she started her business and made everyone from sports fans to Dodger wives wanting her bags!

Liz grew up and currently lives in San Diego so with the Dodgers and Padres heated series happening right now, it could not have been more appropriate to have her on to talk about it all! She tells us what it's like living in San Diego as a Dodger fan, how it all changed in 2022, and how she manages being married to a die-hard Padres fan!

We recorded this right before the series started so we get into all our thoughts going into this postseason. Adam pisses Melissa off more than ever whenever Clayton Kershaw's name comes up. Luckily, Liz brought her friend and fellow Dodger fan Vanessa to sit with Adam, so he is outnumbered by Dodger fans. They all give their series predictions and even give their Dodger boys a motivational speech.

We couldn't be more excited to partner with Your Sporty Bag for our very first merch drop. Head to our website to purchase yours now. And make sure to tag us when you wear them! We can't wait to see you all rocking Talk Dodgers to Me!!!

02 May 2024EP 5: Love & Angry Wins01:10:31

The girls are back with fun surprises today. Aly is engaged! She shares her engagement story which obviously involves baseball. And, her mom is in the house! Aly's mom sits with Adam behind the camera and chats with the girls throughout the episode.

Also, what is baseball without early season overreactions? The girls discuss the Dodgers cold streak and Melissa poses the question, are the Dodgers too nice? From mean comments on social media to angry wins, the girls discuss what is crossing the line and what the Dodgers need to get back in the win column.

They discuss Shohei Ohtani breaking Hideki Matsui's home run record, their excitement about rookie Andy Pages and umpire calls gone wrong. They share their thoughts on boo-ing your own team and how Philly fans helped Trea Turner turn his season around last year.

Melissa shares fun facts about players and the girls wrap with a sweet fan story. And as always, Adam gleefully offers his corrections and commentary along the way.

27 Nov 2024EP 37: Offseason Catch Up with the Girls01:22:12

The girls haven't seen in each other in two weeks so they have a lot of catching up to do, so they decided to let you in on it all. Melissa fills Aly in on all the excitement going on with the podcast since Aly has been out of town. Melissa tells Aly all about the events at Legends' Attic meeting Miguel Rojas, co-hosting with Orel Hershiser, going back on ESPN radio and meeting more Dodger legends!

Aly tells Melissa about her work trip to NYC, where she stayed, what project her documentary team is working on next, and a contact she made that may just get the TDTM team to Japan!

There's a special guest in the house, Grant, a former intern at Kennedy/Marshall who has some hilarious commentary today.

The girls discuss Hot Stove chatter, what players they want back, who they think the Dodgers will sign, and even Adam says he wants Kike Hernandez back.

Melissa and Aly wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so grateful to you all for supporting the podcast! Leave us a comment telling us what's been your favorite episode so far! Happy Thanksgiving!

15 Aug 2024EP 19: Talk Dodgers to Me: Fan Edition01:17:48

We have a really fun episode for you today! The reason we started this podcast was to find other Dodger fans to talk to... so we did! Meet Maile, Moy, Junior, and Will - fellow Dodger fans who you'll learn have been fans for decades.

We learned where they are from, where their love of baseball came from, some of their favorite Dodger memories... and how they are feeling about our current Dodger team.

This group was awesome - friendly, fun, smart and positive! We love it!

Maile told us a great story of meeting Clayton Kershaw in an elevator in San Francisco. Moy and Junior told us about their annual Dodger game they go to with 80 friends and family members - oh and their podcast! And Will had us hanging onto every word telling us about the Dodgers All-Access event he attended a few years ago.

Dodger fans, we hope you love this episode as much as we do. We want to continue doing these so if you want to be on our next fan episode, please send us an email to talkdodgerstome@gmail.com.

16 May 2024EP 7: Ron Shelton - Writer/Director of Bull Durham01:22:24

We are so excited to share our first interview and it's a great one! We sat down with the legendary and Oscar nominated Ron Shelton who wrote and directed some of our favorite sports movies including Bull Durham, Tin Cup & White Men Can't Jump.

We talk to Ron about his time in the minor leagues, his transition from baseball to making movies and how his baseball days bled into Bull Durham. We got behind the scenes stories from all of his movies including how a family who moved to Durham after watching Bull Durham led to him writing a book about the making of it.

We got Ron's take on the current Dodger team, how he feels about how the game is evolving, his current favorite players and who he loved growing up.

We share how we know Ron, where his connection to baseball came from, his mom going to school with Jackie Robinson and what he's working on now. Enjoy!

08 Aug 2024EP 18: ASStros Therapy Session01:19:51

From the Olympics, to our injury plagued team, to the terrible series in Houston, we're really telling you how we feel in this episode.

Melissa and Aly talk out their thoughts on the Dodgers trade deadline moves, decisions by Dave Roberts, players cold streaks, and a series of Dodgers losses. Frustrations are running high, but as always, the girls are trying to stay positive.

Since Melissa can't call the #trashtros by their real name, Adam took it upon himself to give the girls a therapy session about the 2017 World Series cheating scandal.

We hope you guys join us in trying to move past the cheating Asstros. We're still working on it...

11 Nov 2024EP 35: Welcome to Legends' Attic with Eddie Allizadeh01:23:58

Welcome to Legends' Attic! We recorded this episode over a month ago and are so happy to release our interview with part-owner, Eddie Allizadeh. Legends' Attic is a sports memorabilia store in Claremont, CA and Eddie is one of three owners, another being Orel Hershiser! We sat down with Eddie who told us all about how Legends' Attic came about and how he went from admiring Orel as a Dodger fan to becoming one of his best friends and business partners. (Spoiler alert - Orel actually calls Eddie mid conversation during this episode!)

We had such a blast talking with Eddie in the Dodger room at Legends' Attic. If you usually just listen to the podcast, this is one you should wait to watch because we are sitting in Dodger heaven! Eddie tells us all about his lifelong love of the Dodgers, the first piece he collected, favorite Dodger memories, favorite pieces at the store, Fernandomania, and getting married at Dodger Stadium!

From the moment we walked into Legends' Attic, we were greeted with such love and joy that we can't wait for you to experience it for yourselves. It truly is a special place. Not only is it Dodger memorabilia, but sports memorabilia and art across the board.

This Friday, November 15, we are hosting an event with Orel Hershiser himself at Legends' Attic starting at 5pm. Miguel Rojas will be there signing autographs and taking photos! The event is open to anyone but if you want to have your picture taken and autograph signed by Miggy Ro, head to legendsattic.com to purchase a ticket. Melissa will be doing a live podcast with Orel and then will be hanging out with everyone. You get to meet Eddie, too! We can't wait to meet you!!

05 Sep 2024EP 22: Ohtani's Movie Moment & Swift Magic01:12:23

In our 22nd episode, it feels fitting that we naturally fell into a Taylor Swift theme. After Melissa and Aly catch up with each other on going to a Kobe Bryant party and a big move, it's time to talk about the epic weekend of Dodger baseball.

Shohei joining the 40-40 club in movie style fashion leaves the girls speechless as they take a moment to feel grateful he's making history as a Dodger.

Joe Kelly trading a glove for a gold Shohei bobblehead is discussed, Muncy's forceful return, Buehler's progress and their thoughts of what our postseason pitching rotation may look like. Are we out of the woods yet? (See what we did there.)

Kike playing with mamba mentality and the Dodgers honoring Kobe is an honor to discuss as we reflect on his legacy, his daughter throwing the first pitch, and what he means to the city of LA.

They leave the therapy session for the end talking about JHey getting cut and going to the team that Melissa can't call by their correct name, again.

Melissa tells a funny story of her mom's new love for baseball and Aly fills Melissa in on her fantasy football draft and what Adam did to a coworker after his Cubs swept the Pirates.

Adam's lack of enthusiasm around Shohei's latest feat is just one of the many times he pisses the girls off today. And to top it off, yes he is wearing his sunglasses again.

For the first time, the girls are kindly asking you to follow, rate & review the podcast on all platforms. Leave us a comment and let us know what you like about the podcast!

09 May 2024EP 6: Pickles, Home Run Sausage & Crispy Fastballs01:04:46

The girls are back and seem to have a food theme going today. I wonder how many times they say pickles? Aly shares how it’s going one week into being engaged, while Melissa discusses becoming a blacksmith for a day. The girls talk about the Dodgers being back on a win streak, Ohtani getting booed in Toronto, and regrets on not being able to welcome Justin Turner back to Dodger Stadium.

They discuss MLB’s players weekend and reminisce on their favorite nicknames of past Dodgers leading to a whole lot of laughs. The girls discuss whether a triple axel is harder than hitting a baseball. They talk all things Tyler Glasnow. Melissa updates us on how he met his girlfriend and how drinking pickle juice helps him with cramps. Aly keeps the pickle train alive from pickle pops to playing for the pickle. They talk about why the Twins are throwing around a sausage in the dugout and Yamamoto’s fastball being extra crispy lately.

Melissa shares messages from her cousin group chat, a story about her Uncle John losing a shoe while arriving at Citifield leading the girls to plan a trip back to the east coast for a visit to Uncle John’s Italian restaurant. Aly closes us out with a story from meeting fellow baseball fans at a coffee shop.

26 Feb 2025The LA Wildfires: Jose Martinez on Finding Hope after Losing Everything01:16:06

It didn't feel right to go into season two and start talking baseball without addressing the horrific wildfires in Los Angeles at the beginning of the year. Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected, everyone who lost their homes, loved ones, businesses and is now in the process of rebuilding.

We are honored to have our friend, Jose Martinez back on the podcast to share his story. Jose has amazed us with his high spirits and positivity after losing his home and everything he owned in the Altadena fires where his family lived for 25 years.

Jose shared his experience from the moment he first saw the fires spreading to where he's at now as he rebuilds. It has been amazing to hear such amazing stories from his community rallying around him and the generosity he has been receiving.

Later in the episode, we have my sister, Samantha Myer, on the podcast who shares about turning her warehouse into a donation base in Venice.

We love you LA! Dodgers, let’s bring another World Series back to our city this year!

16 Dec 2024EP 40: La Sorted's: LA's First Dodger Theme Pizza Parlor01:12:34

We’re so excited to present this weeks episode from La Sorted’s in Chinatown featuring Tommy Brockert, the founder and owner. Tommy started his pizza business during COVID and opened his first sit down restaurant this past October, only a baseball throw away from Dodger Stadium! Even though it’s new, it feels like this place has been here for 100 years, with its walls covered in LA sports memories and a local hometown feel. Not to mention amazing pizza!

Melissa talked to Tommy all about his LA fandom, dodger love and his passion for creating a true community around the things that matter most to us. Melissa loved talking to Tommy about all his entrepreneurial spirit and creating a business around the dodgers, as she did.

We hope you enjoy this episode and please go support Tommy and the La Sorteds team! The up side down mamba slice is our favorite!

11 Apr 2024EP 2: The Girls Talk Week One01:10:21

Melissa and Aly are back to discuss everything surrounding the Dodgers opening day, first week of baseball and how it went for teams around the league. They discuss Yamamoto's bounce back, the first Muncy moment of the year, and how Ashley Kelly may have created the best marketing strategy of all to get Shohei Ohtani to the Dodgers.

Melissa shares how she thinks Mookie's drive to be a great shortstop is motivating the rest of his game and tries to get Adam to say he doesn't really hate the Dodgers. Aly brings us into her world of Beat the Streak, fantasy football and how much she hates the win probability on the game day broadcast.

And as always, talking baseball always brings stories. From meeting Joe Torre to wondering how they can get on Bryan Cranston's level with the Dodgers, the girls bring you their unique perspectives on the game they love.

18 Jul 2024EP 15: The Dodger Wives Perspective with Kayla Vesia & Molly O'Boyle01:17:23

We couldn’t be more excited to have Kayla Vesia and Molly O’Boyle on the podcast this week. These girls are incredible, strong and driven women and yes, they happen to be married (and soon to be married) to two of our favorite Dodgers, Alex Vesia and Gavin Lux.

We sat down with the girls and talked about everything. We found out how they met Alex & Gavin, whether they even like baseball and how it’s changed for them. We talked about how they support their husbands during the season, and also how the guys support them.

We got to hear what they are pursuing in their own lives, what it’s like to be part of the Dodgers organization, how they deal with the media and negativity, and also how amazing and supportive Dodger fans can be. We learned their reaction to finding out Shohei Ohtani signed with the Dodgers - oh and what the boys thought, too.

We asked them about their bond with the other Dodger wives, what they do on road trips, their favorite ballparks, and so much more. This is a special one. Let us know your thoughts on the episode!!
