06 Jun 2021 | #74 - A Lengthy Battle Ahead: Challenging the Laws that Criminalize Sex Work in Canada w/ Jenn Clamen of the Canadian Alliance Sex Work Law Reform | 01:00:04
I've been really excited to release this week's episode as it hits close to home and the news is hot off the press! I was able to catch Jenn Clamen who is the National Coordinator for the Canadian Alliance Sex Work Law Reform here in Canada to discuss the launch of the Charter challenge against the prostitution laws in Canada. We speak about what this may mean for sex workers in Canada, the outcome it hopes to achieve and the amount of exhaustive work that has gone into launching this. Jenn graciously and patiently breaks down the process in what the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is in Canada, what is deemed unconstitutional and what the previous and current Canadian government has done thus far in recognizing the needs of sex workers. To give context, we go even further about how deep this goes into our history with a brief overview of the Canada v. Bedford case which took a similar route which reached the Supreme Court of Canada (the highest court of law in Canada) and what has happened (or should I say, hasn't happened) in recent years. We speak about representation, the opportunities that have been given to law and policy makers here in Canada, fellow organizations and even the prime minister's office with no avail which has frustratingly pushed them to organize and fight for their, simply put, labour rights. It is a PACKED 1-hour conversation that I am so grateful to have had with Jenn. Do give it a listen - I'd be happy to hear your thoughts and feelings on this episode. 25 Feb 2024 | (2022) Black and Kinky: Making Space for Black Dommes w/ Mistress Marley | 00:58:07
It's a re-release week! In light of Black History Month, I am re-airing this gem of an episode with Mistress Marley on breaking into the dome world as a Black SWer, the impact she's made in the dominatrix world as a Black dominatrix, the schooling and mentorship she is providing for aspiring Black dommes. --- For the month February and March, I will be showcasing several small SWer owned and operated businesses in an ad in within these show notes. Please go and support your SW small businesses! Erotica by Phoenix James, skrippa-style dance certification created by a skrippa, for skrippas. Interested in getting certified? Click here to get started! --- I am so proud of this episode with dominatrix, Mistress Marley. It’s really inspiring to hear all that Mistress Marley is doing for the community. As a young sex worker, Mistress Marley dabbled in other forms of sex work and stumbled into domming when answering an ad on Craigslist. It gave her the freedom and flexibility to live her life the way she wanted to. But there was one problem: the domming world was very White. The lack of peers that looked like her and spaces that were safe to her inspired her to create The Domme Academy, her own group and program for Black and Brown dominatrices, Black and Kinky – events for Black kinky folks and her own Brooklyn-based dungeon, Pynk Matrix. If you are in the New York area, you’ll have to check out these events and spaces in person!

26 Jul 2020 | BLM Series 3: Dismantling Whiteness in Burlesque and the Need for Anti-Racist Coaching w/ Miss Monday Blues | 00:54:47
Continuing the Black narrative in our Black Lives Matter miniseries, we continue to showcase and highlight Black voices in our community. This week, I invited Miss Monday Blues to speak on the podcast on how White the burlesque community is, navigating with the autoimmune disease, lupus, and how that's affected her artistry and her wildly successful anti-racist coaching programs. We bring up a topic that is so blatantly obvious, even to outsiders: the Whiteness amongst burlesque dancers. Why is it so White? What strides is the community taking to dismantle and challenge that narrative? And what can we do to help? Speaking of helping and ally ship, it is SO important to engage in anti-racist coaching. Miss Monday Blues offers unique coaching and consulting designed specifically for White folx and BIPOC to help navigate through this emotionally-sensitive time. Also, HUGE announcement at the end of the episode! This is the final episode of the BLM miniseries on the pod! Thank you ALL for listening! This is not the end of BLM; I will continue to include, as I've always done before, a multitude of BIPOC, LGBTQI+ and varied sex workers on my show....as...SEASON 2 will begin NEXT WEEK! Yay!

We're flipping the table this week on the podcast as I bring a client onto the show - please welcome Miguel* (not his actual name). Miguel comes to the show with a plethora of experience as a loyal client of many different escorts in the city (including past guests on my show). His curiosity first originated in erotic massage parlours and then graduated to full service sex workers via Backpage and Craiglist (RIP!). Miguel shares his experiences regarding why he chooses to pay for sex, what comfort it brings him, and why he continues to seek professional sexual treatment. Is it just for the sex? Is it a form of therapy? Companionship? Not only does he go over the obvious, but we also divulge in him being scammed, catfished and his own personal boundaries being crossed by sex workers. They say there are bad apples in every batch and the sex work industry is not exempt. We also go over client etiquette, what to expect on your first session, keywords to look for in ads that may be red flags and more. 30 Apr 2023 | #168 - Calling for Inclusivity and Diversity in Sex Work with Marcela Alonso of the Get Schooled Podcast | 00:58:12
Y'all, it's here! Season 6 has officially landed and I am so excited to kick off this brand new season with this feisty firecracker, Marcela Alonso. Marcela is a digital content creator and the host of the sex worker podcast, Get Schooled. She brings on decades of experience in our industry including many years as an exotic dancer, a dominatrix, cam model and content creator. Marcela started off as a survival sex worker in the mid-90s and speaks to that time where there wasn't much diversity. She shares the prejudices that she personally received and bore witness to discriminatory behaviour from various strip clubs across the USA. Of course, it was a different time back then and although this generation has welcomed more sex workers of colour, Marcela shares that there is still much work to do. Our conversation begins with a call for diversity and inclusion and veers off into other related topics like underrepresentation, fetishization, addressing stereotypes, colonization, sobriety, sensationalism and more. I had such a great conversation with Marcela and can't wait to have her speak on the podcast again one day. You can reach out to Marcela directly, below, on her platforms:

06 Dec 2020 | #50 - The Rights Sex Workers Don't Have and the Wrongs on the Policing of Women's Bodies w/ Sonia Nowak | 01:03:40
This week, we're flying over to POLAND to speak with sex worker and activist, Sonia Nowak. Sonia started in sex work when she was in Poland and later took those skills to London when she was going to school. There, she noticed the injustices that were occurring when it came to sex work, specifically, in regards to stripping. Are we considered as independent contractors or employees? The parameters given by the strip club she was employed at dictated what type of outfits to wear, what hours she was to work, what she could and couldn't do... wait a minute. That doesn't sound like contracting to me - that sounds like employment. Observing these details motivated her to seek out resources for her and other sex workers to organize to build a case against the club and seek to form a union because sex workers deserve to be afforded basic human rights (DAMN RIGHT!). And her involvement with activism doesn't just stop there. Sonia was also recently taking part at the recent protests in Poland surrounding the anti-abortion laws and governing women's bodies. She is an opinionated and intelligent woman and I am so glad to have connected with her and to have had her on the show! Additional information re: sex worker unions, gathering + supplemental resources

26 Mar 2023 | #163 - Leaked Content: What to Do and How to Protect Yourself from Getting Scammed with Zeus of Olympus Mons | 01:08:07
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mentioning of suicide.*** What does a physicist and sex work got to do with each other?! Well, I am bringing on Zeus of Olympus Mons onto the show this week. Zeus is a trained physicist, sex worker (and all around teddybear!) who helps take down leaked content of sex workers down for free. Zeus brings in over 15 years of experience of taking leaked or stolen content down starting from when he was in highschool. After witnessing his peers at school getting blackmailed and hearing stories of young teens being pushed to take their own lives after their nudes were threatened to get leaked, Zeus decided enough was enough. Word got out that he was a protector of some sort in his teen years which followed him into his sex work career and because he has had so much experience getting this stuff off the internet, he's now teaching people through his YouTube how to get it off for free. Zeus and I also go through specific websites you should watch out for where leaked content is posted, different methods which people will use to steal your content, how to find out if your content has been stolen and his recommend course of action on how to get it down. It is a highly informative episode that every sex worker (and honestly, minors) should be listening to.

26 Feb 2023 | #159 - Life After an Multilevel Marketing Scheme: Transforming Trauma into Success with Cami Strella | 01:10:58
It’s a jam-packed episode this week! I speak with Top 0.1% OnlyFans and TikTok creator, Cami Strella, this week to speak about her experience in a multilevel marketing (MLM) scheme and what that had taught her. Her story may have been a long one but because MLMs occur to many BIPOC people and vulnerable groups, we wanted to share her story to provide perspective and how her escape bled into her entry into sex work. After leaving the organization she was involved in, Cami put herself through school to pursue occupational therapy but was doxxed and kicked out of her academic program by her peers by a TikTok that went viral. Despite the traumatic events that had happened to her, Cami was able to turn her life around and continually gives back to the community and those in need by donating 10% of her monthly OF sales to people in need and military veterans.

I'm not quite finished yet. I just can't seem to sit idly while the entire world is on lockdown when there are still so many issues we are facing as sex workers. But I wanted to highlight a voice that probably isn't listening to this podcast and hasn't been represented on the show yet: our street sex workers. This week, I invite, writer Suzannah Weiss about her experience in sex work and the concept of sex work as play. Suzannah shares her journey into sex work, which started as a playful experiment during the COVID-19 pandemic. We explore the moral dilemmas and boundaries that arise in sex work and the societal attitudes towards sex work. Suzannah challenges the notion that sex work is inherently exploitative and discusses the joy and pleasure that can be found in the work. In this conversation, Suzannah Weiss and Steph Sia discuss various aspects of sex work, including the double standards faced by female sex workers, the experiences of male sex workers, and boundary-pushing clients. 05 May 2024 | #209 - The Roots of Feminism and How It's Impacted the Lives of Sex Workers with Dr. Brandy Wiebe | 01:10:53
It's rare that my vanilla world and SW world collide...so you'd best believe I was absolutely thrilled when my colleague and friend, Dr. Brandy Wiebe, pulled me aside at one of our work get-togethers and asked if she could chat with me on the podcast. As a professor at UBC in the Department of Sociology, Brandy is esteemed academic with research specializing in sex, gender and sexuality and feminism. We speak about the history of feminism and how the roots its had in contemporary laws that condemn SW and the impact its had. We discuss the roots of where anti-SW was formed, where it's based and we can kind of see a cyclical repeat happening to our community through general whorephobia. I had such a great conversation with Brandy and we will likely be chatting about this again at our next gettogether! Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!

15 May 2022 | #119 – A Review on the Shift in Language and Terminology Amongst the Trans Community w/ Velvet Steele | 01:15:14
With so much emphasis on the trans community in recent times regarding gender affirming surgery and trans rights, I think it was time to have an overdue conversation with trans activist, Velvet Steele. Velvet is a longtime educator, advocate, SWer and icon in the queer community in Vancouver who I’ve been looking forward to having on the show. Velvet provides her crystal clear perspective on how language has shaped, impacted and harmed the community. Going from the past to present, we discuss problematic terms such as a sex reassignment surgery to outdated and offensive terms like “shemale” and how other buzzwords have discriminated and harmed the trans community. We speak about the importance in language and how its become more trans inclusive, shying away from terms we had once used in the past. Velvet took so much time to answer many fan questions and gives us a crash course on trans history – a fantastically educational episode that you don’t want to miss. 13 Feb 2022 | #106 - A "Pee"-R Nightmare Gone Wrong: Rebuilding Your Following After You've Lost Everything w/ Kactus Kutie | 01:15:40
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of sexual assault.*** I am very hapPEE to be bringing on this week’s guest today, Kactus Kutie! This model, photographer, ecosexual, podcast host (of the Candygirl Network) and digital content creator specializes in niche fetishes, primarily within the hairy community and piss play. She is a profound nature lover that enjoys incorporating her fetishes outside in nature. Where things went wrong was when she was interviewed about selling a cup of her pee that went viral on various social media outlets. Excited about the opportunity, the journalist went too far reporting on this sensationalized story which lead to Kactus’ OnlyFans account being deleted with little to no warning. Having built her following scratch from 2017 and amassing 5000+ subscribers, she was left scrambling on trying to get her account back with no avail. 05 Jun 2022 | #122 – Dissecting Artificial Intelligence: Being Aware of the Impact that Algorithms, Apps and Platforms May Have on You w/ Dr. Mistress Snow | 01:09:23
I have been patiently awaiting for this episode to be released! I am really excited to pair my nerdiness on artificial intelligence and sex work on this episode with fellow dominatrix, researcher and professor, Dr. Mistress Snow, onto the show this week! Dr. Snow is an adjunct professor and researcher at NYU at the AI Now Institute and the UCLA Center for Critical Intelligence and as a sex worker, she understands the many discriminatory practices through artificial intelligence that major platforms and companies adopt to prevent sex workers from doing our jobs. Dr. Snow opens up about her current research, shares her thoughts on the recent acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk and what that might mean for sex workers, and ways that artificial intelligence works in ways that do not allow us to thrive. It is a completely fascinating conversation (atleast for me!) that absolutely affects our livelihood and how we conduct business. 19 May 2024 | (2021) The War on Pornography: Fear Mongering, Sex Education and the Role of Schools and Parenting with Carlie McPhee of The Whole SHEbang | 01:11:07
***TW: mention of sexual assault in this episode.*** We’re taking a bit of a turn this week as I excitedly bring on my colleague from one of my vanilla gigs, Carlie McPhee, a sexual health educator based in Vancouver, Canada to speak to us about the so-called effects of pornography on children. We analyze the newly-released documentary, “Raised on Porn”, as requested by one of you listeners (thanks @gallegosmash!). He wanted to know if this film was based on factual merit or evidentiary research or if it was sensationalism at its finest. If you’ve been a long-time listener of the show, you may know that us sex workers get the brunt end of stigmatization, tasteless jokes, the short end of the stick when it comes to policy and acknowledgement, and the list can go on. I bring on Carlie this week to dissect the unintentional role pornography plays in kids’ lives when growing up: as a sexual education tool. We also discuss sexual health education in schools and at home and discuss where the responsibility should lie amongst our kids and youth. With porn being so accessible nowadays, where does it belong? What should we do about it? Share your thoughts with us! Find Carlie online at : Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!

06 Feb 2022 | #105 - When Anal Sex Scenes Get Cut: You Fall into Stand-Up Comedy w/ Kate Kennedy | 01:02:56
Be prepared for some laughs on this episode because I am sitting down with Los Angeles-based comedian, former porn actress, content creator and podcast host, Kate Kennedy of The Kennedy Assassination, The Camgirl Chronicles Podcast and Two Girls One Mic: The Porncast. How a random job at a small porn production got Kate hired in Portland, Oregon, working behind the scenes, into her taking her first baby steps in front of the camera. Kate loved it so much that she eventually packed her bags and headed for sunny LA. There, Kate racked up many awards and nominations for her work in porn, slowly rising the ranks in the porn scene until COVID-19 shut her dreams down. Dabbling in stand-up comedy, Kate was able to share her experiences, both good and bad, as a comedy goldmine for material, gracing many of Hollywood’s oldest stand-up stages. 09 Jul 2023 | #175 - Submitting to Submission: Subbing at a Commercial Dungeon with Stephanie Parent | 01:08:07
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of sexual assault at the 40 minute mark.*** A new topic on the podcast? Like, BRAND NEW. There is so much focus on domination and dominatrixes in our industry that it was finally time to shed some light on being a professional submissive. I speak to Stephanie Parent, a professional submissive who used to work in a commercial dungeon in Los Angeles. Stephanie shares with us how she got into being a submissive, learning the ropes (literally and figuratively) on the fly as her first entry point into the sex industry and into the world of BDSM. She describes her experience in working at the dungeon, goes over the interview process, going over safety measures, payment structure and more. Stephanie is also the author of the newly-released novel, which, in part, is also a fictional story based on her life, called The Briars. It was great to have Stephanie on the show to share her expertise on this part of the industry.

Couples camming - it's a thing. Whether you're a girl-on-girl couple, male and female linked romantically or whatever, it's no secret that couples camming make a shit ton of money. But what happens when your audience members try and identify you and threaten to blackmail you? What do you do then? We speak to R & J from the podcast, How to Have Threesomes to speak on their experiences behind the camera while R was in Cirque du Soleil and doubly, as a means to make an income living nomadically. 02 Oct 2022 | #139 - The Isolation, Loss and Sacrifice in Pregnancy and Sex Work w/ Jenna Elissa | 01:08:49
Very excited to bring on my friend, fellow pole athlete and stripper, Jenna Elissa. Jenna and I have known each other for sometime and she was supposed to come on before the pandemic hit but she's finally here joining me on the show for a completely different topic: pregnancy. Jenna (at the time of recording) was 38 weeks pregnant, awaiting her first child. As a SWer, it can be both an exciting time in peoples' lives. Exciting to bring life to a little human but terrifying, because planning for income loss, FOMO, and the segregation can be completely isolating and a burden. Jenna opens up to us about managing her own expectations when it comes to her pregnancy journey, what methods she's had to partake in order to not feel anxious or have FOMO, and what she's looking forward to post-pregnancy. It's an intimate, raw and honest conversation that anyone who plans to have a child and go through pregnancy might need to hear. 08 Jan 2023 | #152 - Wicked Eden: Documenting Life as a Dominatrix with Alexandra Snow | 01:03:33
I'm really excited to bring on legendary dominatrix, Alexandra Snow, onto the show this week. Alex has been an icon in the dominatrix space of our community for almost two decades. She is not only a well-known dominatrix, but she was also a mentor to many aspiring dominatrices-to-be. I invited her onto the show to speak about the documentary that centers around her, aptly titled, Wicked Eden, which shares the name of her dungeon in Columbus, Ohio. The documentary focuses on Alex's experience as a dominatrix, how she navigates through society, her relationships, and family. After watching, I was curious (and impressed) to hear about much of an excellent job the she, along with her creative direction and her producer's leadership, was able to portray for our community of sex workers. The documentary tackled a lot of the societal stigmas that comes with being a sex worker, the very real challenges that workers face, and the no bullshit reality of what sex work really is. Besides the documentary, we speak about Wicked Eden 2.0 - her new 6000 sq ft dungeon that will be debuting in the spring! Alex shares with us a ton of knowledge in this episode and I'm feeing super lucky to have had the opportunity to have her on! You can can watch Wicked Eden via rental on YouTube, Amazon and iTunes:

09 Apr 2023 | #165 - Accessible Therapy for Sex Workers with Leya Tanit of Pineapple Support | 00:58:02
It's a glorious long weekend here in Canada and since you're all at home (or maybe hustling!), I wanted to bring you a great episode with none other than Leya Tanit. Leya is the founder of Pineapple Support, therapy and additional support for sex workers. Leya, a long-time veteran in the BDSM space identified early on in her career that there was a lack of accessible therapy in the SW community. Because our work is so highly stigmatized, it can be challenging for SWers to find therapists who are qualified to provide support for those in our field without feeling judged. That, and some therapists hold biases or haven't even undergone the correct sensitivity training to work with marginalized groups. With this in mind, Leya went on to create Pineapple Support to fill the void. Leya breaks down the current offerings that Pineapple Support provides, some on a sliding scale and goes over the many free services that the organization provides and goes over who it services. In need of extra support? With 24/7 and countless services, you'll want to check out Pineapple Support. Fox Digital is an official partner of the show. Stripped by SIA listeners get 20% off! 14 Feb 2021 | #59 - Check Yourself: Undoing, Unlearning and Unraveling w/ AMD of Yes, a Stripper Podcast | 01:05:44
Just keeping the momentum going here with super strong, incredible and knowledgeable guests in the sex worker space making a difference and making waves. I invited AMD of the Yes, A Stripper Podcast to come onto the show to speak intimately about her experiences stripping in LA, the realization of her white privilege, the gentrification of strip clubs in LA, social media monitoring censorship, amputation and more. I get up close and personal with AM as she lets us into her world. This serial entrepreneur opens up about her various ventures in both sex worker advocacy (Soldiers of Pole) and the pole dancing world (United Pole Artists and Everybody Visible) and the divide that has been going on FOREVER and what her thoughts on it in this current environment. No conversation in regards to the policing of sex work is complete without a mention of FOSTA/SESTA and we briefly touch on that topic in regards to the censorship that's happening in our space. There are a lot of things that we discuss and some excellent Q&A questions from the audience. Strap in and come along for the ride.

27 Dec 2020 | #53 - The Gentrification of the Exotic Dancer w/ Madame Nova Caine | 01:29:34
The last episode of the year and we are going out with a BAAAAAAANG! I invite Madame Nova Caine onto the show to speak about...pretty much everything. 53 episodes in and it's important to review and educate all you listeners out there where the term "exotic" in exotic dancer came from. We dive deep into the history of sex work, acknowledging its colonial roots as brown and black bodies being a muse for the white man and how this colonizing perspective is found even in today's world. The competing views of sex workers and the pole community continue to be on edge as we discuss the Pleasers controversy that happened earlier this month and what Nova Caine believes how erotic movement classes should be taught in studios. We also get cozy with Nova Caine as she shares with us intimate details of her military discharge and the role it played in her family, her sex work and the chronic pain it left her at age 21 and how stripping serves as physical therapy for her. We get into some heated topics on this episode but the overarching theme is the same: giving credit where credit is due. Thank you again to all of the loyal listeners. There will be more episodes going straight through 2021 - stay tuned! Don't forget LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!

Pocket Phoenix joins us today on the podcast to speak about her movement journey which eventually lead to her stripping in the city. Originally of burlesque origins, she branched off into other interdisciplinary forms of movement and dance including FIlipino arnis, Jamaican dance hall and wrestling! Yes, wrestling - who knew!? Through dance, she was able to become reacquainted with her Filipino heritage - something that was lost years ago over a broken friendship and was able to find herself and to mend a broken heart post-break up. She speaks about her experience at the Burlesque Hall of Fame with Screaming Chickens back in the day and touches on great resources for strippers in terms of podcasts (this isn't the only one out there!), stripper courses and one-on-ones. 12 Apr 2020 | #31 - Gay Escorting, Gay Porn and Growing up as Gay in the United Arab Emirates w/ Hamed Raidd | 00:59:51
We have our very first gay-identifying male sex worker on the show today - please welcome Hamed Raidd! It's so interesting to hear of an individual with so many contradicting backgrounds and layers: identifying as gay, being of Arab descent and growing up in an Islamic country - there is SO much to breathe and take in on this episode! Hamed opens up about growing up in the United Arab Emirates, addressing issues like gender segregation and censorship. Since coming to Canada, he slowly discovered what the term "gay" meant and was intrigued by what he had discovered. He has since then gotten into porn and escorting as a gay male and has faced racial stereotyping and challenges with role playing in porn. As a male, he faces both similar yet very different issues in the sex industry - we uncover these issues and more on this episode.

15 Nov 2020 | #47 - "Would You Like Whipped Cream on That?" - A Caffeinated Conversation with a Bikini Barista w/ Mya Banks | 00:54:26
I've been following one of Vancouver's local dancers on Instagram for a little while now only to find out that she's moved down to AMERICA! Wait, what? During a global pandemic? HOW?! I caught up with Mya Banks to speak about her big move down to Washington and her new career change: a bikini barista. From stripping on western Canada's stages to club closures due to the pandemic and a heartbreaking familial situation, Mya decided it was time to pack up and leave. It was time for a new change. With the big move, she had to pivot and find a new job. She was able to find a job that mixed her exhibitionism and killer good looks as a bikini barista. What is that exactly? A naked Starbucks? How do you get paid? What does that entail? You'll have to listen to the entire episode to find out about this form of sex work and how lucrative it can really be. It's a shift in a somewhat different direction with earlier hours, great tips and a helllllllll of a lot of caffeine! Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!
26 Jun 2022 | #125 - A Historic Win: Decriminalization of SW in Belgium w/ Quentin Deltour of Espace P | 01:33:32
I've got to say, I was a little nervous yet super excited to record this week's episode. I had a riveting conversation with Brussels-based, Espace P, a non-profit organization which helps and protects sex workers in Belgium. I got the opportunity to speak with their public relations representative, Quentin Deltour, to learn more about the organization, the history and who Espace P helps, and how much of a resource they are for sex workers based in Belgium. Although it is a small country, Belgium became the first European country to decriminalize sex work back in March of this year. We speak about the struggles that sex workers have experienced in Belgium, what this decision may mean and what will happen moving forward for sex workers and clients. English is not Quentin's first language so please practice patience with him as he navigates throughout our conversation. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** This week I will be discussing sex work and disability. If this triggers you, you may want to skip this episode. He has recently forayed into sex work during the pandemic after years of pondering and has finally taken the plunge. What made him do it? Is there a market out there for disabled bodies? How does he shoot his content? From having years of experience with gay male escorts, Rafael has finally started to produce his own content. He shares with us a fetish that I had no idea about: disability fetish. He explains the different subgroups of disability, devotee community, admirers, pretenders and more. Oooooh, this is a good one. And I'm ashamed to admit I haven't done an episode on this subject but here goes! This week's episode is all about selling your used panties. Has this thought ever come across your mind? Maybe it piqued your interest while watching the last couple seasons of Orange is the New Black? Perhaps you may have considered it. Even if you haven't, you'll still want to listen in to this episode as I have got the ultimate guest on this week to share the ins and outs of this business: Dalma Rosa of the Panty Selling Podcast! Dalma has been in the panty selling game for the past two years and has been so gracious to share her mistakes, tips, and overall expertise on the world of used panties. That, and we'll be discussing Dalma's other ventures that she has started since this whole thing unexpectedly blew up for her. 28 Nov 2021 | #96 - Human Trafficking: What It Can Really Look Like w/ Brandi Wood | 01:09:35
***TRIGGER WARNING: Human trafficking*** This week, I sit down with full service sex worker, Brandi Wood, whom I connected with recently to touch base on the topic of human trafficking. Often times, when we think of somebody being trafficked, images of children in Southeast Asian with older men might come to mind, or perhaps images of Eastern European or Asian women may flash through your head. These are images that are fed to us through mass media. I, too, fell prey to this and I am still working on unwiring my brain to think differently because I was able to sit down with someone who was trafficked as a teen. My guest this week, Brandi Wood, was trafficked as a teenager. She was introduced to an opportunity "to make some money" by one of her family members, another victim of trafficking, and it wasn't until very recently that Brandi even realized that she was trafficked. She was made to work in a massage parlour in Buffalo, NY. Although the working conditions were described as safe, Brandi had no idea that she was being trafficked into the sex trade. Human trafficking can take form in many different ways and this is just one of them. Thank you so much, Brandi, for coming out the show and sharing your story. 05 Dec 2021 | #97 - Pimped: A Story of Manipulation, Power, Control, Abuse and Sex w/ Cougar Nikki | 01:28:34
***TRIGGER WARNING – Mention of sexual assault, substance abuse, physical abuse, pimps.*** Huge episode this week. It’s been a while since we’ve had a long-form episode on the podcast, eh? Well, this week is certainly deserving of the length as it is a fascinating and heartbreaking episode that I have had the pleasure to share. I speak with fellow full service sex worker, Cougar Nikki, this week on the podcast to tell us her story on how she was pimped as a young teenager and then trafficked across Canada by her pimps. She tells us of her backstory, how she ended up on the “tracks” of Winnipeg, Canada, the emotional and physical abuse she’s had to endure, the manipulation tactics of her pimps, the power of control, and how she was able to finally get out. Nikki’s story, which occurred in her teenage years during the 90s, is a riveting one, eye-opening, and a different landscape compared to how it is now. It’s a longer episode but well-worth the listen! Please note that a number of names and affiliations were censored in this episode due to protection and to ensure anonymity as Nikki’s former pimps are still around, to her knowledge. Please excuse the number of censored beeps in this episode. Resources:

04 Dec 2022 | #147 - Battling with Burnout, Balance and Boundaries with Spencer Bradley | 01:20:35
We've all been there. Burnout. Sex workers are no stranger to burnout. As independent contractors, we are not always in the position to say no to work so I invite adult performer, Spencer Bradley, onto the show to share their experiences on how they deal with it all. Having worked as a stripper previously, we compare and contrast just how vastly different working as a dancer is vs. working on-screen in pornography. The luxury and privilege of having the choice to not go to work or hide in the change room differs greatly than when you're working on set. You have to work through it and put your happy face on which doesn't always contribute to a healthy mentality. Spencer shares their methods on how they prevent getting burnt out, recognizing your boundaries and how they practice unwinding. Fox Digital is an official partner of the show. It's always a pleasure to speak to this class and every cohort is different and I so very much appreciate the respectfulness and all of the questions that were asked in class. 03 Oct 2021 | #89 - Taking the “Revenge” Out of Revenge Porn w/ Erika Smith of Take Back the Tech | 01:13:39
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of rape and sexual assault in this episode.*** Such a juicy topic today and one that I have literally been DYING to report on forever. This week we discuss “revenge porn”. It’s a term that you’re likely familiar with but we actually don’t call it that anymore. Gender-based internet violence or non-consensual image distribution is the correct term that we are using to describe it nowadays and I bring on Erika Smith of Take Back the Tech, a global organization working end violence against women (especially harms that are conducted online!), reporting in from Mexico to teach us all a lesson today on what is popularly known as “revenge porn”. There are so many different types of gender based internet violence which we discuss in depth during our time together. We speak about on who it targets, how images or videos may be distributed, how it affects sex workers and what we can to get our content off and how we, as allies, can help.

15 Aug 2021 | #83 - Costuming and Cosplay: Sewing Along Craftmanship, Creativity and Fetishization w/ Serena Rayne | 01:01:54
Sooo excited about this episode! We all know how much fun it is to be on stage (or maybe you don’t do stage) or atleast how fun it is to play dress up in our respective lines of work. Whether it's dainty lingerie, something silky and sultry, or maybe it's campy, there is always an artist behind the outfit. This week, I bring on Alberta-based dancer, Serena Rayne, to speak abut her love for anime (Japanese animation), cosplay, and sewing. Because we were (and are) anime geeks, we gush about our favourite shows, what we grow up with and how it influenced us. Anime played a major role in Serena's life which led her to working at fellow princess parties and later, channeling those costumes on stage as a stripper. Serena now creates all of her costumes from scratch which is super impressive since she is completely self-taught! But can a white woman playing dress up be equally as harmful, opposite of the fantasy they are portraying? Because some costumes are dangerously close to emanating culture, traditions and bear cultural significance, we just had to speak about appropriation and the fetishization of costumes and how that may further perpetuate negative stereotypes about certain races, genders and so on. Even if you aren't an anime lover, tune in because Serena provides so much great insight on all of these topics as mentioned above! Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!
10 Sep 2023 | #178 - Becoming a Master at Creating Solo Content with Bea York | 01:03:23
A lot of you (including myself!) are solo content creators. We make all of our own content and are responsible for the storyboarding, lighting, editing, audio...and the list goes on! Or perhaps you collaborate with other creators and make your own content to diversify what's on on your roster. Whatever your reason is, it is really helpful to hear some expert advice and tips from one of the pros and that's why I brought solo creator and clip artist, Bea York, onto the show to speak about this very topic. Bea has been in the adult industry for some time now and creates some of the most captivating and sexy, and not to mention award-winning, clips photosets and videos. She shares with us some of her secrets to success and really gets into detail on what's worked best for her. She discusses some specific equipment, tips on framing, lighting, and applicable tips on how to really sell your personality. It was really great to get to know Bea and for her to be such a huge resource on this very episode. Enjoy!

19 Sep 2021 | #87 - The Art of Humiliation, Ethical Domination and Slavework w/ Miss Quail Avara | 01:16:15
Because you all LOVE learning about dominatrices and the kink and fetish life, I just had to bring another one on this week! I am so excited to bring on Miss Quail Avara onto the show this week. She is a dominatrix hailing from Georgia, USA who I had the opportunity to connect with over a recent episode that was recorded previously. We speak about about virtual domming, busting myths about what we stereotypically know about doms, and at what point does domming cross the line. We also learn about what is expected out of a responsible dom and how it goes hand-in-hand with fetish and kink work. We also delightfully discuss how her and her “husboy” met (who I mention was her former slave!), how that relationship grew and what the past and current slave/dom dynamics work in her household. Last but not least, Quail doesn’t hold back on her hate for OnlyFans and expresses her love for AVN Stars. Amidst everything that’s been going on, it sounds like a great option if you haven’t diversified already! Don’t forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW, and SUBSCRIBE!
05 Apr 2020 | #30 - A Little Less Conversation and a Hell of a Lot of Rock 'N Roll w/ Dora Kola | 00:49:03
We're getting a little bit loud and a little bit rowdy today with none other than DORA FUCKING KOLA herself! I'm a supporter of any fellow person of colour (especially Asians!) in the industry and I just knew I had to have her on the podcast at some point. With roots in broadcasting and as an award-winning rock radio DJ, this girl was meant to be an entertainer. The amount of energy and passion she has not only for music and dancing not only shows on-stage, but is also so apparent in her interview here on the pod. But it's not all about the glitz and glam. Dora opens up about how she was bullied as a kid, slut-shamed in high school, experienced online harassment from her former colleagues when working in Alberta and the racism she's felt on stage as an Asian dancer. She spills a LOT on this episode and isn't afraid to throw shade at her haters. Learn more about how music has helped guide her way through life and how it has shaped and changed her as an entertainer.

22 Nov 2020 | #48 - Finding a Niche Feeding Hungry Strippers in the Stripper Capital of the USA w/ Nikeisah Newton of Meals 4 Heels | 01:02:10
We're talking about two of my favourite things this week: food and sex work. That, along with two of my other favourite topics on the podcast: resiliency and allyship. I catch up with Nikeisah Newton of the Portland-based, Meals 4 Heels, a late-night food delivery service fueling hungry strippers with healthy and wholesome food. It was a niche that Nikeisah identified when she left her job as a cook in Portland's restaurant scene. Wanting to support her then dancer ex-girlfriend, she packed up some home cooked lunches for her which she brought to the club and ended up drawing some attention from other local dancers. Before she knew it, things started taking off and word let out. She's now not only feeding sex workers across Portland, but also providing food to the Portland's frontline workers, protesters, LGBTQ and the greater community. Meals 4 Heels is a Black-owned, queer-friendly, and sex worker-supportive business - be sure to order from her if you're based in Portland!

25 Sep 2023 | #180 - Lobbying and Advocating for the Decriminalization of Sex Work with David Mickenberg and Henri of the Ishtar Collective | 01:02:07
This episode has been a long time coming and after some technical difficulties during the first round and some major anxiety, I have gotten the group together to record this fantastic episode on what's happening in the east coast of the USA. You might've heard an earlier episode this season on the decriminalization front in Vermont with Misha Montana (Episode #170) and you can think of this episode as a response/part 2 continuation of that conversation. On today's episode, I invite David Mickenberg and Henri of the Ishtar Collective onto the show to speak about what collective efforts they have been working on towards pushing for decriminalization in Vermont. David is a political lobbyist who has had much experience lobbying for harm reduction and other related causes against marginalized groups in the state of Vermont. Henri's experience in advocacy in organizing spans across her time in various states. In this conversation, we speak about the landscape in Vermont -- what's happening with sex work, how has the public received it, and where they are receiving support. It's a riveting conversation (and a hopeful and progressive one too!). 14 Nov 2021 | #94 - Privilege in Sex Work w/ Jessie Sage of the On the Whoreizon Podcast | 01:17:42
It’s time to have a conversation about privilege within our community. What does that mean to you? What does that mean? It’s such a huge and hot topic within our industry that people either love or loathe talking about but after a brief tweet went viral, I’m here to start a discussion about it. I am joined by Jessie Sage of On the Whoreizon who I’ve had on the show before (go check out Episode 71!) to help me tackle this behemoth of a topic. We do our best in addressing our own privileges – being white, being cis, being educated, the ability to hold a civ job, being in North America – as we try to untangle what privilege can mean to so many in our community. I was so wrong with when I said that face out could be seen as a privilege and was presented with varying situations where it was out of their control and not their choice. We speak about the challenges of varying dichotomies of being face in vs. face out, contact vs. non-contact work, virtual vs. in-person work, thin vs. fat bodies, white vs. POC, heterosexual vs. LGBTQIA2S+, regionality, experience vs. inexperience. We barely even scratched the surface. An hour just isn’t long enough to fully dissect privilege but alteast we have gotten a conversation going. A big thank you to those who contributed to the show via voice memos. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and stories. Voice memos:

22 Oct 2023 | #184 - What Every Sex Worker Needs to Know About Safety with Amy Taylor | 01:08:23
***TRIGGER WARNING - Mention of assault and attempted murder*** We haven't had an episode in a while that was fully dedicated to safety measures for sex workers so when this week's guest, Amy Taylor, contacted me to hop on the show with her compelling story, I had to give her the throne. Amy is a full service sex worker based in NYC who's had an extensive amount of experience in the biz. Amy is no stranger to starting out her career with some questionable decisions early on but through some sketchy incidences and close calls, including an attempted murder, she lives on and is here on the show this week to tell the tale and to warn other sex workers to keep their guard up. Amy has compiled an extensive list (and even more that we didn't have enough time to cover on the show) on common safety measures that she's adopted over the years and tips and tricks to keep us all safe. Safety is and always should be number one so this keep this episode in mind if you are starting out in the industry or if you're needing a bit of a refresher! I was nominated for an Allyship Award and the 2023 Skripped Down competition, Canada's only by and for sex worker pole competition, happening on November 3rd. I was nominated for Philanthropist of the Year and would appreciate your vote! Please vote for me at the link below - your support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Okay, everyone. I'd like to introduce you to the CUTEST guest I have ever hosted on the show. I am so happy to have interviewed the cutesy Leana Lovings onto the show! Leana is a cam girl who also just recently journeyed into the world of porn - currently #65 and rising the charts on PornHub! We begin our conversation about her roots and upbringing in a religious household, being raised in a megachurch and how it lead to her hopping onto Chaturbate to explore her sexuality and sensuality. 01 Oct 2023 | #181 - Stripper Competitions: Featuring, Creating, and Touring Domestically and Internationally with Ciara | 01:09:30
Very excited to release this episode with one of my friends, Ciara, who I've known since our baby poler days back in 2016! It's been so lovely and awe-inspiring to watch this girl grow. Ciara is a multi-award-winning international feature who tours all across North America and whom is known for her outstanding feature shows. Ciara started off as a stripper in Vancouver, Canada and has since then, worked her way up the ranks, like her mentor and predecessors before her like legends, Justice Jardine and Jenine Butterfly. Inspired and focused since day 1, Ciara put her blood, sweat, and tears to get her geared up and ready to compete in local stripper competitions like Miss Nude BC and her success has lead her to being invited to large competitions like the Exotic Dance International (EDIs) and more. Ciara shares her journey with us on how exactly she got here as a Canadian being invited to more and more American competitions, divulges on what sets her apart from other dancers, goes over judging criteria for previously mentioned competitions and how she settles in and decompresses when she's not on tour. It's a super fun, energy-packed episode which I know you will all enjoy!

10 Mar 2024 | #201 - Sex Work is Care Work with Fiona Dawson | 01:07:01
Often times, our clients like to dump on us. No, not literally (but maybe they do?!) but moreso dumping on us the woes from life, work stressors, home life, depleting marriages and more. Sometimes our services are sought out for that nurturing care, the the support, the embrace...which is why crises counsellor and fellow SWer, Fiona Dawson, is joining me on this week to speak just about that! Fiona share this perspective that sex work is care work. She compares our work with those who are in the umbrella of care work (ie. therapists, counsellors, social workers, etc.) and we analyze how there is a bit of a double standard going in. Such a fascinating conversation - listen in to the whole episode and let us know what you think! --- For the month February and March, I will be showcasing several small SWer owned and operated businesses in an ad in within these show notes. Please go and support your SW small businesses! Looking for low cost therapy? I can help! My name is Kaitlin Petter and I'm an intern psychotherapist. 06 Sep 2020 | #38 - Fuck Bella Thorne: Sex Worker Appropriation and Celebrities Ruining It For All of Us w/ Saskia | 01:02:24
I think by now everyone is acquainted with what's happening with Bella Thorne and the OnlyFans controversy and of course, I just had to address it on the show! I invited exotic dancer, Saskia, to join me on the show today. She's a fierce and VERY opinionated spirit hailing all the way from Montreal, Canada who wanted to share her two cents on sex worker appropriation. This is happening a lot lately. We're seeing that more and more civilians are once again, taking "interest" in sex work. There has been a huge influx of civvies joining OnlyFans and pole studios thanks to blockbuster hits like Hustlers and strippers being used in major media. This is great and we're all for it; HOWEVER, it's not okay when there is an deliberate erasure of the sex work narrative which is an obvious root in this type of inspiration. Saskia and I banter back and forth about how celebrities and influencers need to give credit where credit is due and to support our fellow sex workers. There is ample opportunity on these celebrity platforms to shed light and to draw attention to how we can help sex workers instead of taking up space. All of this and more on this explosive episode of Stripped by SIA.

25 Apr 2021 | #68 - Fintech: All the Payment Methods You Need to Know About (And Avoid) as a Sex Worker w/ Adrie Rose | 01:00:48
Wow... well, WELCOME TO SEASON 3 EVERYONE!!! What an amazing ride this has been so far! Thank you to everyone who has listened, wrote in, asked questions, recommended and referred guests, those who have reached out, and of course, my insanely intelligent guests - I really couldn't have done this with you all. Season 2 was very politically-charged and dived deeper into my advocacy for sex workers. Season 3 will continue onto ride that wave to further educate civilians, aim to decriminalize sex work and to destigmatize the industry. Thank you. For the Season 3 opener, I invited (and surprised) longtime veteran in the sex industry, Adrie Rose. Adrie was a former escort hailing from Miami, Florida and who now resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as she is attending school. She is a sociology graduate and most of her research is focuses on financial institutions and how they respond to the decriminalization of sex work. We first dive into how she got involved with this type of research and how she ended up in it (because she really didn't want to do it before) and we begin to inspect the increasingly difficult ways marginalized people, often BIPOC, in rural communities don't have access to major financial institutions and the challenges on something so simple as starting up a bank account. We discuss the hurdles that these groups of people go through (often street level-based sex workers) and the impacts it may have on them. The conversation gets even juicier when we zoom in on the topic of fintech: technology and innovation involved in the delivery of financial services. Services such as PayPal, Venmo, and Ca$happ are services that we as sex workers are likely very familiar with as we all use them - or have stopped using them - for a good reason. These services are very particular in who can use their services and guess what, sex workers are not included in that group. We also talk briefly about the rise of cryptocurrency in sex work as well as crowdsourcing platforms and areas that are just not safe for sex workers to use anymore. It's a jam-packed episode. Buckle up and listen in! Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW, and SUBSCRIBE!
16 Oct 2022 | #141 - The Legalization of Sex Work in Nevada: A Day in the Life of a Courtesan w/ Ariel Ganja | 01:06:43
I can't believe it's taken me this long to record and episode on the legalization of sex work. I know that I advocate for the decriminalization of sex work, but I also think it is fair that we hear from those who are working in a legal capacity. That's why I was so excited when I got the opportunity to interview with Ariel Ganja, a legal courtesan based in the state of Nevada, in the USA. Ariel works at the famed Chicken Ranch just outside of Las Vegas which is a legal, licensed brothel. I was very curious and had SO many questions on what life was like at the Ranch. Ariel and I discuss everything under the sun from what her regular day-to-day looks like, room and board, what she is allowed to bring into the Ranch, how the line up works for clients, picking and choosing and of course, what her stance is on legalization vs. decriminalization. Ariel speaks freely on why legalization has worked for her and offers a unique insight on why this might be a good option for people. As always, I like to a provide a transparent approach to all facets of sex work, including the legal side of it, so I hope that you are able to consume this episode with an open mind and enjoy this conversation I had with Ariel as much as I did. 23 May 2021 | #72 - Street Walking: The Evolution of Sex Work Before the Age of the Internet w/ Miss Lady Vanessa | 01:13:03
I am beyond ecstatic to bring on Miss Lady Vanessa who is a full-service sex worker based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Vanessa tells us the most fascinating story of her life in sex work beginning at the ripe age of 16, being groomed by a local pimp in the big city of Vancouver and getting into sex work in the early 1990s. At the time, sex work, besides stripping amongst other things, was really limited to the streets. She was a street-level prostitute for 3 years when she got “hooked”. After her hiatus, a friend of hers introduced her as her duo partner for some in-person dominatrix sessions and she was hooked yet again – round 2! This time around, she was able to set herself up independently, specializing in the girlfriend experience and her most popular, option: NuRu. This episode we speak extensively of what exactly NuRu is and why you should try this service out immediately. It’s a super packed episode and a reminiscent look at the past in terms of what the landscape of sex work was like before sites like OnlyFans, PornHub, and Backpage existed. Take a step back in time with this episode because we’re going way back. We hope that you enjoy the ride! Miss Lady Vanessa is also looking for a brand new NuRu mattress! If anyone has a spare lying around that they don’t need, please contact and connect with her in her preferred links below. Don’t forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW, and SUBSCRIBE!
02 Feb 2020 | #21 - Eating Disorders, Self-Help DVDs, and Changing Attitudes Towards Sex Workers w/ Keira Kova | 00:57:59
Don't be fooled by her young looks, Keira Kova has a wealth of life experience and at 30, she's just began her foray into the world of stripping! Her attitude going into it was far from accepting, however. After battling anorexia, separating from her husband and joining pole dancing classes, her opinion has wildly changed. Combatting depression, she was able to take control of her body and has surrounded herself with likeminded strippers. Her story surprisingly isn't uncommon. Often times, we, too, have had a negative connotation and outlook on strippers and sex work...but why? We ask that question and many more on this episode of the pod.

23 Mar 2025 | #246 - The Other Side of Strip Club Culture with Dahlia | 01:27:30
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of sexual assault, kidnapping, pimping, physical assault.*** We've talked about how much I loved stripping over the years but this year, we will be discussing the complexities of strip club culture. Joining me this week is my guest Dahlia, a former NY-based dancer. The conversation highlights the challenges faced by dancers, the impact of economic changes, and the empowerment that comes from taking control of one's body and choices and the culture of fear that often silences dancers. They highlight the predatory behaviors that can occur within the industry and the struggles dancers face in navigating relationships while maintaining their professional personas. The conversation emphasizes the need for empowerment and the importance of speaking out against injustices in the workplace. We emphasize the need for a humane approach to interactions, the significance of making customers feel valued, and the necessity of setting boundaries when engaging with clients. We also highlights the critical aspects of health and safety, particularly regarding sexual health and the risks associated with extras in the industry. Lastly, we reflect on the evolution of strip club culture, the accessibility of sex work through platforms like OnlyFans, and their personal journeys within the industry. The conversation highlights the camaraderie and struggles faced by dancers, emphasizing the need for self-care and awareness in a challenging environment.
19 Dec 2021 | #99 – Should I Stay or Should I Go? Agency Work vs. Going Indy w/ Elizabeth Weisz | 01:25:09
I’ve been waiting SO LONG to bring this guest onto the show and having had some comments and curiosities surrounding the agency side of full service work, I think it was about time to bring our guest on. I am so excited to finally bring on Elizabeth Weisz onto the show this week. Elizabeth is a companion currently (at the time of recording) based in Ottawa, Canada who has been so generous to share her experience on working in escort agencies and how she finally came to the decision to go “indy”, or independent. Yes, we’ve heard of the horror stories of working in agencies but Elizabeth also speaks about the positives. She also shares about the “bait”-style agencies which, when she explains it, almost sounds a bit like a catfish situation for clients, and safety and security measures (are there any?) that agencies claim that they offer. She speaks about her challenging time transitioning from working in an agency and getting her foot started as an independent escort which she couldn’t have done without help from the collectives – something that I had no idea even existed! Elizabeth is simply just a wealth of knowledge, intelligent and extremely personable. You don’t want to miss the penultimate episode of Season 3! It's great to sprinkle in a lighter episode every now and then and this week is no exception! I am delighted to bring on FSSWer, writer and media contributor to Petit Mort Magazine, Katarina Quinn, onto the show! This whole episode is dedicated to talking about how SWers are represented in some of the hottest shows and films over the last couple of decades. On this week's episode, Katarina and I discuss and analyze the representation of SWers in Sex and the City, White Lotus, The Menu and Poor Things. I've seen 3 out of the 4 media pieces involved here and *spoiler alert* if you haven't seen these shows and films and intend to, there might be some spoilers! I loved chatting with Katarina on her approach on how sex workers are viewed. For the month February and March, I will be showcasing several small SWer owned and operated businesses in an ad in within these show notes. Please go and support your SW small businesses! 20 Jun 2021 | #76: Peepshows: Going Beyond the Private Pleasures Booth w/ Sunshine McWane | 01:05:48
Whatever happened to the peepshow? You know what I’m talking about. The little booth that you can peer through to see scantily-clad women dance for you. Sometimes there were even smaller venues that were connected to sex stores. Some just aired pornographic material 24/7. For a few quarters, you can pop in and get some live entertainment. But where did these venues go? I speak with former peepshow dancer, Sunshine McWane, to speak about her experience of working in numerous peepshow establishments. Sunshine has worked in peepshow venues for years until one the last standing establishments closed its doors for good back in 2019. Before that, she worked at six different venues around the USA, including both location of ever-so-popular, The Lusty Lady, originating in Seattle and then branching out to a sister location in San Francisco. She reminisces of a time when peepshows were in its heyday – employing up to 5 girls a shift on weekend evenings when the club was “stacked”. She speaks about the incomparable comradery with the other ladies in the venue that she just can’t find to this day. We go over fees and payment structure, what happens in a Private Pleasure booth, how peepshow entertainment was a precursor to camming and how technology killed this form of sex work. Sunshine continues her quest of finding these establishment around the country. Do you know of any? Get in touch with her, below: Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, SHARE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!

***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of sexual assault, rape and race play.*** Since we are all such different beings, I was really curious to see how others in our community practice self-care. Self-care might look different from one person to another to I was happy to connect with all you listeners for your input so thank you for submitting! A lot of you expressed disconnecting from social, immersing yourselves in nature and treating yourself in fancy meals or retail therapy. I was interested in hearing about the self-care we can also do inwardly so I brought on Jazmyne of Underneath Your Lingerie for her to share her story and her physiological ways to administer self-care on our own bodies. Jazmyne, a cam model on Streamate, shares with us on how she prepares for her work week, how she decompresses by utilizing specific techniques on various areas of her body, and how she was able to develop a program on self-care that she shares with other sex workers. 31 Oct 2021 | BONUS - Stripping Down the Sex Industry (Virtually LIVE from Florida State University) | 01:10:15
Hi folks! I’ve just recently come back from a much-needed vacation and have been busy catching up with work here this week. I also was invited to speak, yet again, at Florida State University in one of their Human Sexuality classes (thanks again, Alicia!). I thought this would be a great opportunity to share a little bit about myself (especially if you’re brand new here), to provide insight to these students, some of whom who have never spoken to a sex worker or don’t even know or realize what sex work entails, and to give a real-life account on our lives. I speak about the current landscape that us sex workers live in including laws that affect us, recent ongoing issues like labour rights, organizing in unions and the OnlyFans scandal and answer all of the student questions that I could within our alotted time slot. I was a great conversation to be had and although I was extremely tired (not my best speaking gig!), I feel incredibly humbled to be given this space to educate and spread the word. 26 Sep 2021 | #88 - When True Crime Meets Stripping: A Story of Obsession, Misogyny, and Murder w/ Adam Heath Avitable of The Angel at the Starlite Motel | 01:06:01
We are going a little left field this week as I invite my guest, Adam Heath Avitable of The Angel at the Starlite Motel and Dating Kinda Sucks podcasts onto the show. Even if you haven’t heard or listened to Adam’s podcasts, we dive deep into troubling intersectionalities that need to be discussed in sex work: misogyny, obsession, underage prostitution, stereotypes and stigmatization which all contribute to how sex work is seen in a negative light. Adam’s podcast, Angel at the Starlite Motel, tells the story of a dancer, Mandi May Jackson, and a client who was obsessed with her. After being tangled up in the murder of her former boss, strip club owner, James Mulrenin, her client, who only goes by the name of David, wrote a book dedicated to proving her innocence which Adam reads excerpts from every week with commentary. Adam, a self-described “reformed misogynist” and I discuss the problematic, and sometimes dangerous, concoction of money, obsession, drugs and sex and how it can entangle you in areas you wish you never would want to be. 15 Jan 2023 | #153 - I Got Fired for Having an OnlyFans with Sarah Juree | 01:20:33
Remember that story in the news not too long ago about a teacher whom got fired for having an OnlyFans? Well, I've gotten a hold of that teacher and she is on the podcast this week to share her story. Sarah Juree is an OnlyFans creator, mother of two, and former teacher. Sarah, a teacher of over 20 years of experience, was blasted on social media, her private nude photos taken and shared without her consent and exposed for having an OnlyFans. As a single mother, Sarah joined the platform to supplement her teaching income. Being no stranger to the gig economy, Sarah had tried everything to make ends meet. With low wages as a teacher, Sarah turned to the platform to test the waters out, only to be doxxed by a complete stranger. I speak with Sarah about what the real issue is here (her not being paid enough as a teacher to find other means of income), dealing with the aftermath and what she is up to now.

So excited to bring on my friend, Chloe, who I’ve seen just SKYROCKET over the pandemic on the livestreaming platform, Twitch. Chloe, or as her fans like to call her, “Coco”, has catapulted her livestreaming career on the platform and has reached Affiliate status. So how does this all play into sex work? Well, we discuss the similarities of camming and livestreaming, the type of content she creates in her livestreams, giving into fan requests, collaborating with other creators, and dealing with problematic viewers. Fair warning – Twitch has very strict rules when it comes to nudity and sexual content and Chloe explains it all in detail so you don’t have to. 12 Nov 2023 | #187 - Transgender Talks: Transitioning, Representation and American Porn Studios vs. Japanese Studios with Mimi Oh | 01:09:35
I've got a great episode lined up for y'all today! This week, I'm bringing on adult porn actress, Mimi Oh, onto the show to speak about starting her adult career in the middle of her transition. Mimi shares with us what it's like to start her career with such timing (why midway throughout her transition and not wait til after?), socially transitioning and physically transitioning and gives many pointers on what's worked best for her in her transition journey. We also dabble into the topic regarding the lack of trans representation in studios and in the general porn scene and why she will never work for another American porn studio again and why she only work with Japanese studios moving forward. It's a very thought-provoking episode to gain some insight on what it's like to transition for those who are wanting to educate and empathize further and a great resource overall. 12 Dec 2021 | #98 – The Misconceptions Behind Nude Life Art Modeling w/ Marcel Canuck | 00:53:27
I am so thrilled to be doing my first in-person interview in a year and a half! I am absolutely ecstatic to bring on my friend and student, Marcel Canuck, onto the show this week as we go a little left field (as I always love to do!) as we speak about life art modeling. Marcel is a longtime life art model who has modeled all over North American and Europe. He brings to the show his years of experience as a model, most commonly asked questions and of course, misconceptions about what life art modeling is. If you aren’t aware, life art modelig is nude modeling. It’s an expressive art form used in visual effects schools to learn how the body moves and to better understand how to demonstrate mobility onscreen. Because of the nature of the job, Marcel is often subjected to misogynistic comments, unsolicited dick pics and assumptions that surrounds this type of art. Did you know how un-erotic this type of art is and how physical this profession is? We also discuss the shame and stigma of the naked body in the North American context, dealing with stalkers and online harassment, and how to get started as a model. I’m so excited to bring on and introduce Felicity Azura of the Pro Cuddle Hustle Podcast onto the show this week! I know Felicity through Twitter and this outspoken sex worker speaks of her quick entry point into sex work. 12 May 2024 | #210 - Your Guide to All Things Chastity with Mx Tomie | 00:54:20
Yay, I get to be a student again! Excited to bring you all the LAST EPISODE of Season 6! To close things off this season, I bring on NYC-based dominatrix, Mx Tomie, onto the show this week to teach us a little thing or two about chastity. Having gone some new chastity subs and harbouring my own curiosity, I invited Tomie to give us a breakdown on what chastity is, why it might appeal to some folks, and get real nerdy on the details around equipment. Since most of Tomie's clients are cis-het men, we speak primarily on cages designed for penises, the different types of material used on them, comfortability, and general hygiene on how to clean them. Of course, no fetish or kink topic can go on without discussing potential harm and general safety guidelines on how to practice chastity play safely with your clients. We also touch on remote chastity play and her thoughts on that as well as the many questions that Tomie's fans have written in. A thoroughly in-depth episode that barely just skims the surface on the topic of chastity but hopefully provides a great introductory lesson on this fun kink. 16 Jan 2022 | #102 - Scam, Scamming, Scammer, Scammed w/ Alexis | 01:01:08
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of rape and substance use and addiction.*** This week, I am joined by former FSSWer, Alexis, who heard my recent AMA which resonated hard with her on getting scammed that we connected shortly after and just had to do an episode together! I had originally planned to do an episode dedicated to scamming back in Season 3 which didn’t work out so I am thrilled to have Alexis on to speak about this. Scamming. We’ve all been there. Didn’t get the money upfront? Scammed. Picture didn’t match his profile? Scammed. Client left you high and dry with something other than the money promised? Scammed. It’s shitty when it happens but hopefully – just hopefully – we all learn our lessons after. But when we bring up the topic of scamming, it’s hard to ignore that sometimes, we, as SWers, scam our clients. I really think it’s important to mention the intent and motive here for context because hey, it’s our job to provide services rendered for our clients in exchange for payment but some honesty may be lacking here when it comes to questionable work ethic. And let’s not forget the unfortunate attacks that may happen from within our community. I hate to mention it but I’d be doing my own podcast a disservice if we don’t mention the whorearchy and the danger behind other SWers attempting to scam other SWers and the attempts of pimping that sometime happen in our industry. There’s shame and there’s plenty of stigma, but we’re here to have a transparent discussion about it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the episode. As Alexis is no longer an active SWer, she would like to hear your thoughts! To respect her privacy, please kindly DM me and I would be happy to connect you with Alexis. 23 Oct 2022 | #142 - The Reality of Addiction, Getting the Help and Working Sober w/ Charlee Beckett | 01:03:18
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of substance abuse*** Love this intimate conversation with FSSWer, Charlee Beckett. Charlee has dabbled in many forms of SW over the past decade and comes on the show this week to speak to us about her battle with substance addiction. She has had a long relationship with alcohol and various drugs throughout her late teens and adulthood. We speak about the parallels of the hospitality industry and SW and speak about how substances can be intertwined within our work. Charlee gets real with us on how she quit cold turkey and although she recognized that she desperately needed help, the throes of the reality of how drug and alcohol addiction in Vancouver proved the opposite effect. She wanted the help, but there was a waitlist. She wanted to stop using, but they recommended that she continue using until they were able to admit her. It's a rude awakening if you haven't heard of the opioid crisis in Vancouver, you'll hear about it on this episode. It's a eye-opening conversation that Charlee and I had and I hope you can learn a thing or two from the episode! Watch the video exclusive only on Patreon: patreon.com/strippedbysia PS. It's Charlee's birthday today so be sure to send her some love in the form of gifts or tips! https://allmylinks.com/expcharlee Don't forget to LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT, RATE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE!
11 Apr 2021 | #67: Mo' Money, Mo' Problems: Financial Literacy, Taxes and Personal Finance w/ Janet | 01:02:53
Sex workers, have you done your taxes yet? If not, then you'll want to this listen closely to this episode! I catch up with Janet who is an exotic dancer based in Toronto, Canada and a financial consultant. Having a background in accounting, she wanted to share her knowledge on personal finance and managing money and assets with her peers. To further educate herself, she enrolled herself in to receive financial certification and began to take clients on. I recently attended one of her financial literacy workshops which was catered specifically to benefit and aid sex workers. Are you curious on where to park your money? What about saving your earnings? Protecting your earnings? How do you grow your money the smart way? Janet shares a wealth of knowledge with us on this week's episode which is super timely since it is tax season! She clarifies all of your burning questions - what can we claim and write off, what job category are dancers and sex workers classified under, and the benefits of filling our taxes. We also go deep into the nitty gritty about personal finance regarding different savings accounts, TFSAs, bonds, cryptocurrency, mutual funds, segregated funds and so on. Because Janet is based in Canada, a lot of these terms are in the Canadian context which have American equivalents so keep that in mind. It's an eye-opening episode to say the least so pay attention! ALSO, this is the Season 2 finale of Stripped by SIA! Thank you for an incredibly politically-charged season. 34 episodes of quality content, exceptional guests, and thoughtful conversation. 11 Jul 2021 | #78 - Providing Critical Frontline Support to Sex Workers w/ Kit Rothschild of PACE Society | 01:00:14
A casual Instagram encounter turned into conversation which turned into an invitation to come onto the show to speak. I invite Kit Rothschild of PACE Society to come onto the show this week to share and spread the word about PACE Society, a sex worker-led and run organization located in Vancouver, Canada. PACE Society has been supporting sex workers since 1994 and offers a plethora of services and programs to support sex workers. Back in Montreal where they are from, Kit was introduced to sex work in a super non-conventional way: by newspaper ad for one of the largest and oldest dungeons in Quebec. After a 5-year stint in the industry, they found themselves drawn to PACE Society, which enabled them to relocate to Vancouver. Kit, the Violence Prevention Coordinator, describes it as a "dream job". First starting as a Support Worker, they worked their way up to their current title working on providing occupational health and safety programs to members of their community and organization. Weekly workshops, lunches, tax services, and the sex worker relief are just a few of the many programs that Kit helped facilitate and worked on. This episode provides a glimpse of how we can support these sex worker-friendly organizations, where your donation money goes to, and even provides an insight if this is work that you may one day be interested in.
