After discussing our impressions of the book and the trilogy as a whole, we push into uncharted space to discuss what could translate from these books to the upcoming live-action shows involving Thrawn. While sharing their thoughts and praise for the wonderfully diverse offering of animated shorts, the team examine the benefits of interconnected storytelling versus standalone tales untethered to canon. Our review of Visions season 2 also incites another debate over the term, “Grey Jedi,” and the team finally reaches an agreement about it’s usage. Episode 46 - The Phantom Master

Join us as we use the daylight hours wisely to share our instant reactions to Episode 4 of The Acolyte. After the sun sets on our scene-by-scene breakdown, the darkness takes hold and we dive into our theories surrounding the many mysteries presented in the show including; the wrongdoings of the Jedi, the mysterious death of Kelnacca, and of course, the identity of The Master… That is, if his identity matters, as we’re beginning to suspect something far more arcane and sinister could be at hand (or better yet, on head). 

Still in utter disbelief and fascination of all that unfolded in the finale of The Acolyte, we do our best to collect ourselves for our last instant reaction podcast for season one. It happened, Darth Plagueis The Wise has appeared in a live-action Star Wars story! We discuss the mysterious Sith Lord and his possible involvement with story thus far. We also discuss Sol’s tragic end, Vernestrah’s abuse of power and continued brand management while under external review, as well as Osha’s new role as an Acolyte of the dark side. 

This week, the cantina crew gather at the local watering hole to review the latest stories in Star Wars comics. This week, the CWN team review The High Republic: Path of Vengeance by Cavan Scott and share their conclusive thoughts on all the books published for phase 2 of the High Republic including comic tie-ins. This week, we gather in the Denab system to chat about part three of Ahsoka, Time to Fly. After exploring our thoughts about Sabine’s journey to wield the Force and Ahsoka’s new school of thought, we dive into all the greatest moments in the episode. 

With each scene we inevitably draw comparisons to Timothy Zahn’s, Heir to the Empire Trilogy and Outbound Flight novel—fueling even more speculation about many of the concepts we think Filoni might introduce in the series such as; Jedi Clones, The Outbound Flight Project, Mount Tantiss etc… 

This week, we start our discussion with a pitch for a Quinlan Voss series and convince ourselves it could be the next best thing after Andor. We then take time to pour one out for beloved actor and director, Carl Weathers. After that Quinlan corner and our solemn salute to Weathers, we jump into our review of the final issues for both Bounty Hunters and Doctor Aphra. After discussing those finales, we get to our coverage of all the Return of The Jedi one-offs created in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary, such as; Jabba’s Palace, Ewoks, Lando, Max Reebo, The Rebellion and The Empire.
