The conference is organized by PSSI, the Prague Security Studies Institute, and is part of a series of high-level international Space Security conferences designed to advance decision-making within the security domain among allies. This is an unclassified gathering of military allies and national security experts and it's very unique in its style and content, because it openly discusses about security issues related to the current geopolitical climate with people directly involved with dealing with security issues, thus creating an ideal set-up for dialogue and ideas exchange.

In particular, this year’s theme was "The Global Space Competition: Security, Markets and Sanctions" and it deals with China, Russia, the imposition of sanctions on space companies, and of course space behavioral norms from a defense point of view. This episode was supported by PSSI, the Prague Security Studies Institute, which organized the 6th Space Security Conference and the entire PSSI Space Security Conference Series launched in 2011.

We spoke with Lukasz during this year's ILA Berlin which is the largest aerospace trade show in Germany which took place this year June 22 - 26.

In this episode, we discuss the European Rover Challenge, its history, its challenges, the future, and about this year's program. This event will take place in Poland, September 9 -11.

The European Rover Challenge takes place in Poland on-site and remotely! It consists of two parts: the Challenge Zone and the Inspiration Zone. The Challenge Zone is a competition between autonomous rovers allowing students to showcase their skills and creativity. Students design rovers that attempt to complete a mission that were executed by agencies like NASA or the European Space Agency on a make-shift martian surface. The winner of the event is chosen by the team whose software is best prepared to complete the mission and the team who responds effectively to critical situation.

In 2021 he was selected as the Kennedy Space Center’s NASA Scientist/Engineer of the Year for research into the blast effects of lunar landings. In 2021, the International Astronautical Union named Asteroid 36329 Philmetzger after him for his efforts to preserve the Apollo sites on the Moon.

In this episode Philip discusses how humanity can use and preserve the moon. He covers how both a human and robotic presence is essential for moon resource extraction and economic activity on the moon. He even suggests that humanity is 10 years away from bringing moon resources to Earth's orbit to use as propellant.

Episode 3 - How Can Commercial Space Data Support Safety, Security, and Defence Requirements (Without Stepping on Military Defence Toes)

The Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI), has the pleasure to present Space Cafè Radio - PSSI Space Security Mini-Series, a radio series focused on allied preparedness to face the rapidly changing space domain. PSSI is a non-profit non-governmental public policy organisation founded in 2002 and based in Prague. In space, PSSI emphasizes emerging threats and available policy solutions.

 All the interviews in the PSSI Space Security Mini-Series were conducted during the 6th PSSI Space Security Conference, held in Prague, at the Czernin Palace, the headquarters of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from the 19th to the 21st of June 2022. The conference is part of the PSSI’s well-established series of high-level trilateral space security conferences, where for trilateral we mean Europe, the US, and Japan. The conference series, launched in 2011, is designed to advance decision-making within the security domain among allies. They represent one of the highest levels of an unclassified gatherings of military allies, national security experts, and senior industry representatives.

In this third episode, Editor-in-Chief Dr Emma Gatti interviewed Paul Graziani, Chief Executive Officer at COMSPOC Corp . Paul spoke about the exciting and complex position of those private companies working head to head with Government and Defense, discussed  the limits of these corporations, and how can the private sector help and be involved in the defense sector.

Episode 4 - The French Space Defence Strategy and Goals for a European Space Command

The Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI), has the pleasure to present Space Cafè Radio - PSSI Space Security Mini-Series, a radio series focused on allied preparedness to face the rapidly changing space domain. PSSI is a non-profit non-governmental public policy organisation founded in 2002 and based in Prague. In space, PSSI emphasizes emerging threats and available policy solutions.

 All the interviews in the PSSI Space Security Mini-Series were conducted during the 6th PSSI Space Security Conference, held in Prague, at the Czernin Palace, the headquarters of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from the 19th to the 21st of June 2022. The conference is part of the PSSI’s well-established series of high-level trilateral space security conferences, where for trilateral we mean Europe, the US, and Japan. The conference series, launched in 2011, is designed to advance decision-making within the security domain among allies. They represent one of the highest levels of an unclassified gatherings of military allies, national security experts, and senior industry representatives.

In this fourth episode SpaceWatch.Global CEO and Publisher, Torsten Kriening talked with Major General Michel Friedling, Commander of the French Space Command about the French Space Defence Strategy and Goals for a European Space Command.

In this Space Café Radio – SpaceWatch.Global Event coordinator and Space Café Young Global Talents Host Chiara Moenter spoke with Clezio Marcos de Nardin, the acting Director General of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Anderson Ribeiro Correia, Director of the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), and Alberto Marques Filho, Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development of São José dos Campos.

The SSP is a unique and intense two-month professional development course for postgraduate students and professionals of all disciplines. The programme covers the principal space-related fields, such as policy and law, business and management and humanities to life sciences, engineering, physical sciences, and space applications. The International Space University (ISU) announced that the 35th annual Space Studies Program session will convene in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The program will be hosted by INPE and ITA with the support of the city of São José dos Campos and the Brazilian Space Agency.

In this episode, Clezio, Anderson, and Alberto give their impressions of the final days of SSP22 and the presentations of the participants; they provide an insight of what we can expect to see from the next SSP in Brazil, and give us a glimpse of the exciting developments of the Brazilian Space sector.
