About Dr.Jessica Asgarpour, MD, FRCPCDermatologist | Toronto Dr. Jessica Asgarpour is a Canadian and American board-certified dermatologist. She completed her medical school at the Cumming School of Medicine, in Calgary, Alberta, where she was born and raised. She went on to the University of Alberta for her residency training in dermatology, where she acted as co-chief resident from 2019-2020, and was awarded the Dr. Andrew Lin Dermatology Scholar award. She has also been awarded multiple scholarships to conferences to keep her up-to-date with the ever changing medical literature. She has published in many peer-reviewed journals, and practices medicine with this same evidence-based approach. She practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. About Dr.Jonathan Chan, MD, FRCPCRheumatologist | Vancouver Dr. Chan is an assistant clinical professor at the University of British Columbia and an Adult Rheumatologist and Clinical Investigator with Arthritis Research Canada. (ARC). He has a clinical focus and research interest in the areas of axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. He was awarded an Assessment of Spondyloarthritis Society (ASAS) fellowship grant and completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Toronto in axial spondyloarthritis (ankylosing spondylitis). Dr.Chan actively pursues research in this field and has been invited to present on this topic internationally in addition to being the coauthor of the Canadian Spondylitis Treatment Guidelines. His research focuses on early identification, long term outcomes, radiographic progression, and use of administrative databases. Dr.Chan is the core site leader of the national spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis research cohorts (SPARCC and iPART) which follow patients with spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. He also participates in clinical trials evaluating the efficacy and safety of mew therapies in these types of inflammatory arthritis.

In 2013-2014, she completed a Pediatric Dermatology fellowship at CHU Sainte-Justine, in Montréal, Québec funded by the University of Ottawa Fellowship for New Faculty and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario’s Popham Fellowship. Dr. Ramien is currently a Clinician-Investigator at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Her practice is focused on clinical care of medically or dermatologically complex children.

His PhD research involved studies of the signalling pathways important to immune system regulation. He then went on to complete his dermatology residency at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia. Until August 2017, Dr. Kirchhof was the Education Director at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he coordinated and led undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education activities. About Dr. Jerry Tan Dermatologist, Windsor, ON Dr. Tan received his medical degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and trained in internal medicine at the University of Toronto and in dermatology at University of British Columbia and University of Michigan. His general dermatology and aesthetic dermatology practices are in Windsor Ontario Canada. He conducts clinical trials research at Windsor Clinical Research, a clinical trials site in dermatology. Aside from industry grants, he has received research funding from the Canadian Dermatology Foundation and the National Institutes of Health Research. Research focus includes acne, acne scars and rosacea. Additional interests include outcome measurements and informed shared decision making in dermatology. Dr. Tan chairs the working group on clinical practice guidelines of the Canadian Dermatology Association, the rosacea international consensus group (ROSCO) and the acne core outcomes research network (ACORN). He has been an associate editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the British Journal of Dermatology. Over the past 3 decades, Dr. Tan has authored/co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Joseph enjoys her diverse practice in general adult, pediatric and surgical dermatology. Her clinical and research interests include inflammatory skin disorders such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa; genodermatoses, and equity, diversity and inclusivity.
ABOUT Dr. Geeta Yadav, MSc, MD, FRCPC ( Pediatrics), FRCPC ( Dermatology) Toronto, ON Dr. Geeta Yadav is an expert in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. A second-generation Canadian, her interest in under-serviced communities and treating BIPOC patients was inspired by her childhood travels to India. She holds a master’s degree in International Health from Johns Hopkins and completed her dermatology training at the University of Toronto, where she still teaches today. Dr. Yadav is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. When she’s not working, she volunteers as an Alumni Governor at the University of Toronto. She also loves running, dancing, and spending time with her husband and three young children.

ABOUT Dr. Marissa Joseph, MSc, MD, FRCPC ( Pediatrics), FRCPC ( Dermatology) Toronto, ON Dr. Marissa Joseph is a board certified Pediatrician and Dermatologist and completed her Pediatric training at the Hospital For Sick Children, followed by her Dermatology residency at the University of Toronto. She completed a MSc in Community Health at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Dr. Joseph is full time academic faculty at the University of Toronto. She has received and has been nominated for teaching awards in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Dr. Joseph is the Medical Director of the Ricky Kanee Schachter Dermatology Centre at Women's College Hospital. ABOUT Dr. Geeta Yadav, MSc, MD, FRCPC ( Pediatrics), FRCPC ( Dermatology) Toronto, ON Dr. Geeta Yadav is an expert in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. A second-generation Canadian, her interest in under-serviced communities and treating BIPOC patients was inspired by her childhood travels to India. She holds a master’s degree in International Health from Johns Hopkins and completed her dermatology training at the University of Toronto, where she still teaches today. Dr. Yadav is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He is sought for his expertise in developing Outcome Based clinical Programs, not only in Arthritis Care, but also Shared Care in a Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Program, Wound Management and NeuroRehab/Stroke Care.
He is active in Clinical Research as Principal Investigator with The Arthritis Program Research Group Inc. As part of a strategic interest in identifying ‘Best Practices’, he has established an Early Arthritis Clinic, collaborating with a national initiative, CATCH of which he is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee and Operations Director, and an Osteoporosis Intervention Clinic. He sits on the Steering and Scientific Committee of the Ontario Best Practices Research Initiative, a collaborative attempt among stakeholders to describe and disseminate outcomes and best practices, in the management of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was an active Investigator and participant in the successful Canadian Rheumatology Research Consortium and served as Secretary-Treasurer, until its conclusion in 2014. He is a founding member of the Ontario Rheumatology Association and Past-President (2006-10). He is past President of the Canadian Rheumatology Association (2012-2014) and past Secretary-Treasurer (1996-2004). He is past Secretary-Treasurer of PANLAR, and has served on the Steering Committee of CARE, a European-based group interested in the non-pharmacologic management of arthritis. He was a member of the Rehab Committee of the American College of Rheumatology 2003-09 and served as Chair pf the Committee, till its dissolution.
He has been involved in improving care for those with arthritis through the above initiatives, and his work with CRA and ORA, in Best Practices identification and dissemination strategies, and development of Models of Care frameworks (ORA); and improving the health of the community, as a past member of the York Region District Health Council (DHC) and past-Chair of the amalgamated Simcoe-York DHC. Since the recent cancellation of TAP by Southlake, he has become energized in the establishment of a Not-for-Profit organization (Centre of Arthritis Excellence - CArE) to develop a community-based MSK program, the first of its kind supported by the Ontario Ministry of Health, as a Portal of MSK Care, utilizing an Inter-Professional MoC, opening September 2022.
Dr. Thorne has been recognized by his colleagues and peers, with the ORA Distinguished Rheumatologist Award (2010), the CRA Distinguished Rheumatologist Award (2015), and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), and has been recognized as a Master of the American College of Rheumatology (2016), in Washington DC.

She is an Assistant Professor at Queens University and a Consultant Physician at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Gooderham has been the principal investigator for over 200 clinical trials and she practices with a focus on inflammatory diseases of the skin. She also contributes to several peer-reviewed dermatology publications as an associate editor, reviewer, and has been an author of 205 articles. She completed her medical school at the Cumming School of Medicine, in Calgary, Alberta, where she was born and raised. About Dr. Jennifer Beecker MD, FRCPC, CCFP(EM), DABD Dermatologist, Ottawa, ON Dr. Jennifer Beecker is a Royal College-certified dermatologist who is fully trained and certified in three separate medical specialties: Dermatology, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. In addition, she has earned American board-certification as a dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Beecker is an active Staff Dermatologist at The Ottawa Hospital and Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. The range of conditions in which Dr. Beecker holds expertise includes medical dermatology, skin cancer, as well as cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Beecker is a national expert in skin cancer detection and prevention. Dr. Beecker founded the Melanoma and Pigmented Lesion Clinic at The Ottawa Hospital academic teaching centre. She is the only dermatologist in Canada using this specialized equipment at a teaching hospital. Dr. Beecker trains medical residents and medical students in this clinic, as well as in general dermatology clinics. She is also Vice-Chair of the Dermatology Examination Committee at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, which sets and conducts the exam for dermatology residents graduating and attempting to obtain Canadian certification as a dermatologist.
As Research Director for the Division of Dermatology at The Ottawa Hospital and a Clinical Investigator in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), Dr. Beecker conducts and supervises many research studies, and has multiple publications in the medical literature. She is invited to lecture about dermatology locally, nationally, and internationally, and is frequently interviewed by the media, especially on topics such as sun protection and skin cancer. In 2020, Dr. Beecker was awarded the prestigious “President’s Cup Award” by the Canadian Dermatology Association for the second time having also received this award in 2016. She completed her medical school training at the University of Calgary & her dermatology residency at the University of Alberta. In addition to her regular practice, she volunteers on overseas medical trips. Her passion for providing care for under-served populations has taken her to Nunavut & rural Fiji. Outside of medicine, Dr. Lam is a proud aunt to 4 dogs, culinary enthusiast & international explorer. ABOUT Dr.Susan Poelman, MSc, MD, FRCP(C), FCDA Calgary,AB Dr. Poelman is a Canadian and U.S. board-certified Dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. After getting a Master's degree in Cancer Biology and a Medical Degree from the University of Calgary, she went on to complete her dermatology residency at McGill University and the University of British Columbia. She has established a women's health clinic at Beacon Dermatology which includes treatment for acne, rosacea, vulvar (female genital) skin conditions, hidradenitis suppurativa, and cosmetic procedures. She is very active on provincial, national and international committees and advisory boards and is currently Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee of the Canadian Dermatology Association and President of the Canadian Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation. She enjoys teaching and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine. She lives just outside Calgary with her husband and three children and enjoys hiking, tennis and skating on her outdoor rink in her backyard in the winter.

ABOUT Dr.Melinda Gooderham, MD, FRCPC ( Dermatology) Toronto, ON Melinda Gooderham MD MSc FRCPC Dr. Gooderham is a Dermatologist and Medical Director at the SKiN Centre for Dermatology and an Investigator with Probity Medical Research. She is an Assistant Professor at Queens University and a Consultant Physician at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Gooderham has been the principal investigator for over 200 clinical trials and she practices with a focus on inflammatory diseases of the skin. She also contributes to several peer-reviewed dermatology publications as an associate editor, reviewer, and has been an author of 205 articles. She actively participates in clinical trials through Wiseman Dermatology Research, where she has participated in over a hundred clinical trials. Her community commitments are extensive and include involvement with the Canadian Dermatology Association as Provincial Director of the National Sun Awareness Program. She is an editor of the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, and was the chair of the Skin Cancer Disease Site Group at CancerCare Manitoba for 15 years. He runs a busy office based dermatology clinic with a focus on clinical research. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Skin Sciences and teaches at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, where he is active staff. Dr. Hong is the past head of the BC Section of Dermatology, the current Economics representative for Dermatology at the BCMA, and is the past chair of the Education Committee of the Canadian Dermatology Association.
