We think of purpose oftentimes as this big, vague, mysterious idea of purpose.  How can I walk in God’s purpose for you when you don’t know what that is?  What are his big grand plans for my life and what if I miss them.  While yes, He does have plans for your life, but VERY rarely will He even give us a glimpse into what that is. In our continuation in our study of 1 John 1, we learn that John is writing to people, children, young men and fathers, in the faith to not love the world but to love people... but why? Today we are continuing our study into Jonah with Jonah 3:1-5. In this chapter, Jonah is called to call out the Ninevites on their sin so that they can repent. Although it was a scary step, Jonah took this step of obedience. In these verses, we learn that God is not intimated by anything - he knows who He is, and no one or nothing is too great for God. Sometimes we get intimated to step out in obedience, but God is never afraid. Jonah is faithful to follow what God has asked of Him, no matter how big or scary it was.
