16 Oct 2023 | Episode 15: Meet Zakia Moulaoui - Founder & CEO of Invisible Cities an award-winning social enterprise helping those affected by homelessness become tour guides | 00:50:01 | |
This conversation is nothing short of inspiring; Zakia Moulaouri had an idea to make change for those affected by homelessness and to empower them to become tour guides in their own city. Zakia joins us from her home in Scotland and we talk about how her love of languages has given her the opportunity to study them and travel the globe. In 2015 she had an idea of how to bridge the gap of homelessness and use the power of tourism to offer hope and a sense of purpose to those in need. Invisible Cities has given just that to many in the UK that needed guidance, and something so profound in this conversation is the reminder that no one she has met has wanted to be homeless, but their circumstance has brought them there. Zakia and her team are making change and my hope is that this conversation sparks an idea on ways you can make a difference in your city too - perhaps tourism is the answer?
