This is where the show really gets going, with the dungeon crawling goodness that roleplaying game fans crave. It's also the first time we meet Brothers Rajiv and Lu Shao, two cool dudes with awesome powers and even chiller vibes. Lu Shao was the character that inspired the whole system and universe, so I had to stick him in there somewhere. Anyhoo, we hope you love it and we can't wait to see you down the road!

We're calling these early shows our Prequel Episodes, as they don't quite reflect the overall character of the show generally. We love them though, as they help explain the rules as well as introduce you to some of our most memorable players and characters! Skip ahead to Season 1 if you must, but once you're hooked come on back and see how this wacky adventure all started!

In this episode, Anthony's character Rael meets Denis' character Korel Tivin. They're both cops, but Rael is undercover and in the midst of a criminal act that's gone awry. Tivin shows up and hilarity ensues!

In this thrilling episode, we meet local celebrity Drew Buck and his Lunari Bounty Hunter, Jok'Tot "Rustling Leaves" Gibson. Ex-cop, all man. Gibson is on the hunt for information regarding a missing young man on behalf of his worried mother, an influential judge. His mission has taken him to Antares Asteroid Base I, the very same rock on which our original heroes first found each other. Will Jok'Tot live long enough to meet them, or will this mission be the end of him?

Q: Where's Yifram?

If you've listened back to earlier episodes, or seen something on our social media, you would have seen that we severed ties with the player that created Yifram. He'd been caught saying some fairly insensitive and inflammatory things online, not hate speech per se, but trolling around in the area, so we thought it best to send him off with a bit of explanation. We love Scott, and we wish him the best on his journey.

Game Mechanics in this one: We roll a Wind saving throw - basically the LM comes up with a number that the player has to beat in order to stay on their feet or whatever spell-type thing goes down. Also, some damage is assessed.

In this thrilling episode, Farley Gnarts finally gets to meet fellow Resistance fighter and total effing badass, Rael Esgaelion AKA The Burning Mask.  Along with a rad Zentraedi pilot and a rough-and-ready shotgunner (please don't tickle him), the boys head out on a deadly mission to track an army. Along the way, they kick some tail in a majorly cool way.

Plus, fruit pies!

Game mechanics in this one:

Inertia: If a Vor'akh runs more than once in a turn, add 5 speed at the end of each move action - every 20 yards covered in a round add 1d6 slam damage to the target they hit (each 5 points of bash damage can be converted to feet thrown 5:5, unless target is a full class smaller, in which case its 5:10)

Stopping movement after starting an inertia run can only be done by rolling a medium difficulty(15) Athletics check, or by running into something.

Blessed: When the Loremaster uses a character's blessed power, they can instantly convert any roll into a super success. This is basically like getting a free legend point which can only be used by the Loremaster.

Rolling Thunder: If a character with this move successfully hits a target, they can take a second attack against another target within ten feet (or 10 degrees of arc with a missile weapon)

Speeding: If a character chooses they can add extra feet to their run by spending one VP per 3 foot of extra ground covered

Game mechanics in this episode:

Speed shot is a sub-skill of Firearms. If you have the skill you can attempt to take an extra shot in a round (-2 for the extra shot, -4 if shooting a different target (within a 10 degree arc/skill level).

Critical fail (or botch) - if player rolls a 1 the roll is an automatic failure. If the LM rolls a 1, 2, or 3 on a d10 it's a super botch. The effect of such can be very painful. The LM will decide what happens as a result.

Using an action point allows the player to re-roll a failed roll OR add 5 to the result. Occasionally you can use it to make an enemy re-roll instead.

Warriors get 150% vitality at character creation, 125% after that. Monks and Defenders get 125% at creation and +1d6 at each level (on top of their standard amount).

Range: Missile weapons/firearms have ranges. At Medium range use the standard damage amount. At close range add 1d6 (unless otherwise specified). At point blank range at 2d6.

Mistral can make deeper spiritual bonds with subjects (including ghosts) in the Astral Realm.

He considers using a Legend Point, but makes his roll. He needs a focus to combine her spirit with his. He uses a piece of her hair from her gravestone and their spirits now travel in union. Slowly over time he may develop her talents and knowledge.

In the next thrilling episode of Shattered Worlds: The Rising Tide, Steve Mathew's character, the Mistral Dreamwalker known as Talon, goes on a wild spiritual chase to find the identity of the surviving scientist. 

Game mechanics in this one:

To raise attributes after character creation, you can spend 2 action points to increase an attribute 1 point. You can only raise an attribute 1 point per increase in level. 

Holding a spell/power - if a power using individual rolls a successful check of the corresponding attribute, the character may use one power while maintaining an existing one. The second action's value will be decreased by 2 until the maintained power is ended. At higher levels, characters may be able to maintain more than one power/spell at a time.

In the astral realm, characters' Shadow is the base stat for all rolls unless noted otherwise by LM.

A player may dodge or parry, but additional attacks after that will target the character's base armor stat unless the player takes a full defense round(chosen at beginning of round).

Some creatures will have a counterattack when taking hits. This creature deals 2d6 to its attacker any time they inflict 6 or more points of damage.
