06 Dec 2021 | RECAP: Seahawks vs 49ers - quotes, highlights and top performers from Week 13 | 00:21:30
Although the final score looks relatively normal with a 30-23 victory for the Seahawks, the way Seattle got to that final score was anything but normal. In this recap, we hear from Pete Carroll about his thoughts on Adrian Peterson getting in the end zone to tie an NFL all-time great. Carlos Dunlap, who had two of the biggest plays in the game, talked candidly about why we haven't seen him on the field as much as last year. Quandre Diggs talked about his interception, Nick Bellore offered his thoughts on some big plays on offense and special teams, and Russell Wilson offered some words of encouragement for a player who had his worst game of the season.

05 Apr 2021 | Which cornerbacks fit the Seahawks mold in the 2021 NFL Draft? | 00:41:16
With the departure of cornerback Shaquill Griffin to the Jacksonville Jaguars, one of the biggest positions of need for the Seattle Seahawks is filling in behind the former third-round pick. Ahkello Witherspoon may be the answer, but drafting a cornerback in round 2 or 4 may help provide some insurance if the former 49ers cornerback doesn't work out. E.J. Snyder of Windy City Gridiron and Bootleg Football joins the show to talk about a number of cornerbacks who fit the Seahawks mold and could be available late in the second round and beyond.
Before we get there, we discuss an issue that could have a big impact on the NFC West next season. The first half of the show focuses on the recent trade by the San Francisco 49ers to move up to the 3rd overall position in the 2021 NFL Draft. Do they have any information from the New York Jets that helped make the decision easier to move up to that spot? E.J. talks about who he thinks the Niners have targeted at that spot and the potential alternatives who will be available.

12 Mar 2021 | Robert Turbin wants to prove he can return to the NFL | 00:32:16
Former Seattle Seahawks running back and Super Bowl 48 champion Robert Turbin joins the latest show to talk about his desire to get back into the NFL. The first step when it comes to getting back into the NFL is having some recent tape. He's now joining Fan Controlled Football to as part of that return path. Turbin says after dislocating his shoulder in 2018 while playing with the Colts, he has something to prove. Returning to the Seahawks in 2019 nearly gave him that chance and he says had the Seahawks won that final game regular season game against San Francisco that things would've been much different with Seattle having a first round bye. He also offers his thoughts on the reports of a rift between Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll.

16 Apr 2019 | Russell Wilson is the Seattle Seahawks quarterback through 2023 | 01:03:00
Russell Wilson is now under contract through the 2023 season after agreeing to a $140 million four-year extension. Wilson was the first to announce the deal from his bed in the middle of the night after setting the deadline for negotiations at midnight of April 15th. Brandan Schulze and Adam Emmert break down at how the timing of the deal benefits the Seahawks, especially with it being a four-year extension.
With a deal now done, it makes it enjoyable to go back and listen to some of the nonsense that fans had to endure leading up to the deadline. The show explores the comments from Jack Del Rio that he wouldn't be surprised if Wilson was playing somewhere else in 2019, commentary about how the Seahawks 2019 quarterback would come from this year's draft, and (maybe the most fun) about how Andy Benoit would rather see a team pay $18 million to Jacoby Brissett than by $25 million to Russell Wilson.
There was also a lot of commentary leading to the deadline surrounding the idea that Russell Wilson wanted out of Seattle and how his new salary had the potential to be a percentage of the salary cap. Neither of those story lines ultimately played out and Russell Wilson's new no trade clause seems to negate the idea that Wilson desperately wanted out of Seattle.

09 Jan 2020 | Packers preview: Trouble ahead for Seattle if Green Bay is running on all cylinders | 00:35:29
The Green Bay Packers are the 2nd seed in the NFC in just the first year under head coach Matt Lafleur. Zach Rapport of the APC Podcast joins the show and says how running back Aaron Jones has added an extra dimension to the passing game. Jones paired with a healthy Davante Adams has been Aaron Rodgers two key targets. However, the depth on those players has been a bit of a concern for Packers fans. On the defensive side of the football, the Packers have allowed themselves to be more susceptible to the run in hopes of helping to create turnovers. It's worked well considering in 12 of their 13 wins, they've been able to generate at least one turnover on defense.

10 Feb 2020 | Seahawks 2020 mock draft roundup | 00:51:32
Mock draft season has begun. Although, mock draft season may be year round considering how we get mock drafts as soon as the actual draft is over. Regardless, we can start looking around at various media outlets to see react to who they have projected to the Seattle Seahawks. Among the players discussed through the first two rounds are DE Julian Okwara of Notre Dame, TE Adam Trautman of Dayton, and CB Bryce Hall of Virgina. All are projected to Seattle in SB Nation's most recent mock draft by Dan Kadar. Rob and Brandan also discuss free agency and discuss the idea of trading to improve the team's pass rush.
With the Seahawks need to add pass rushers, DE K'Lavon Chaisson of LSU and DE Terrell Lewis of Alabama are some popular picks projected to Seattle. One player who Rob suspected would go in the top 15 is currently being projected in the late first and early second round. We discuss why safety Grant Delpit could be available and what it would take for the Seahawks to make a move for him at the end of the first round.
We close out the show by talking quarterbacks in the draft. Could Tua fall to the end of the first round and help benefit the Seahawks for a team looking to trade up? How will Carson Palmer's advice to Joe Burrow impact the draft? Check out all that and more on this week's look at the NFL Draft.

15 Nov 2021 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Packers - notes, quotes, and the end of a 10-year streak | 00:11:01
Russell Wilson returned from recovering from his finger injury in time to face off against Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field. Wilson had one of the worst performances of his career, throwing two interceptions on passes to the end zone and ending the day with just four yards per pass attempt. Jamal Adams came down with his first interception with the Seahawks, but Pete Carroll felt that Seattle should have recovered at least one other turnover. The Seahawks hadn't been shut out since 2011, and now at 3-6, this team will be under tremendous pressure to string together wins to keep any playoff hopes alive.

01 Feb 2021 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: Offseason blueprint for Sugar Shane the Brain | 00:41:19
It's a somewhat non-traditional episode of 3 IN, 3 OUT this week. However, the power of the 'three' remains as Clinton Bonner looks at three areas of focus for the Seahawks offense now that Shane Waldron has been hired as the Seahawks new offensive coordinator. Those three areas are scheme, slot, and speed. How do these fit together and what are the specific details? You'll want to tune in to find out. While these are the main questions for the Seahawks this offseason, some of the other divisional rivals have bigger questions they're facing.
The Los Angeles Rams appear to have addressed their biggest question about what to do about Jared Goff this offseason, but is the addition of Matt Stafford going to be a significant enough upgrade to offset some of the pieces they'll be losing in free agency. Left with a second round pick and two late round picks, will that give them enough young talent to remain competitive in the division? With that question answered, now we'll all be waiting to see what the 49ers will do to address their issues at QB.

18 Oct 2019 | Ravens preview: Rattling Lamar Jackson early could be key for the Seahawks | 00:25:28
The Seattle Seahawks return home after a third straight road win to face Earl Thomas and the Baltimore Ravens. Jake Louque of the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast joins me to preview Sunday's matchup. It's a matchup that turns what most people have previously considered the strengths of these two teams completely on its head.
The Seahawks enter Week 7 as Football Outsiders top ranked passing offense and third in the NFL for offensive DVOA. The Ravens offense is right behind the Seahawks in DVOA and rank first in the NFL in total yards averaging 450 yards per game and second in average points with 30.7. The former strengths of these two teams have turned into relatively average defenses. Each team barely has double digit sacks (Seattle with 10, Baltimore has 11) and both are in the bottom half of the league in points allowed per game (Seahawks are 20th with 24.3 and Ravens are 17th with 23.3).
The key is going to be stopping Lamar Jackson, who became the first player to ever win both air and ground player of the week honors in a single season, and Louque says that the key is rattling Jackson early and taking away his deeper options throwing down field.

01 Oct 2019 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: Collier's first big play, Carson sets the tone and Green takes down Murray | 00:37:02
The Seahawks finish up their first quarter of the season by getting their second straight win on the road. Seattle goes to 2-1 on the season after a 27-10 victory over the Cardinals. Of course, when the Seahawks win, Clinton Bonner starts with an IN on this unique look back on the previous game. The first one goes to L.J. Collier for making his first play on the team where fans really take notice. Everyone talks about Chris Carson and overcoming his ball control issues in this game, but this is 3 IN, 3 OUT, so Clinton focuses on one play in the 4th quarter that set the tone for the Seahawks final drive. Finally, Rasheem Green had an impressive open field tackle to sack Kyler Murray and get the last IN.

23 Aug 2024 | Seahawks ACQUIRE ILB Michael Barrett from the Panthers | 00:50:17
With only one ILB on the roster currently signed beyond the 2024 season, the Seahawks moved to add another potential long-term answer at that position today - acquiring former Michigan Wolverine Michael Barrett from the Carolina Panthers.
Barrett was a productive player for the national champions, and the winningest player in UM history before being selected in the 7th round by the Panthers in April. Now, he'll be trying to get up to speed and fit into the a revamped Hawks LB group.
The Panthers receive veteran CB Michael Jackson in the deal.
How does this impact Seattle's roster? Stay tuned, because in this episode I'll also unveil my latest 53-man roster projection.

06 Apr 2019 | Russell Wilson's April 15 contract date is likely a goal and not a deadline | 00:55:43
On Tuesday, the news broke that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has set a deadline of April 15th to complete contract negotiations. But can it really be considered a deadline? If Wilson isn't planning to sit out offseason workouts or hold out into training camp, then the mid-April date should be considered more of a goal than an actual deadline. Adam Emmert and Brandan Schulze are optimistic about the idea that it is a true deadline and a deal gets done, but will it do anything to stop continued speculation about all the other teams Russ would rather play for?
Left tackle Duane Brown says he would like to see Wilson and the Seahawks throw the ball more in 2019. If the Seahawks wanted a more balanced offense, then they would need to shift back toward the pass after going run heavy in 2018. With so much talk about if it's better to pass or run, we settle on the simple fact that it's better to win than to lose. Apart from the final game of the season, the run heavy approach led to more winning than losing.
Doug Baldwin has another surgery set for April, but despite a relatively productive season for a receiver over 30 years old, there is a question about whether Wilson's favorite target could be back in 2019. We discuss a receiver from the Mike Holmgren coaching era who played into his mid-30s who has a similar type of game. Max Unger has decided to retire, so maybe now is a good time to dig into which team really won the trade between the Seahawks and Saints.
In the "Do Better" segment, the guys discuss the site of the NFL Draft as well as the Alliance of American Football and how many players we can expect to see in the NFL next season. Better at Life honors go to an AAF legend and to our rival Arizona Cardinals for the entertainment value their franchise provides as they are seemingly unable to manage the situation they find themselves in going into the draft.

18 Dec 2020 | Football Team preview: Expect the Washington defense to frustrate Russell Wilson | 00:25:05
The Seattle Seahawks have the opportunity on Sunday to secure a spot in the playoffs with a win over the Washington Football Team. Two weeks ago, when Seattle played the Giants, New York's defense found ways to slow down and frustrate Russell Wilson. Samuel Gold recently shared his breakdown of the game on Field Gulls and, as a fan of the Football Team, thinks that this defense has the ability to slow down the Seattle passing game. However, they are missing a top corner to match up against DK Metcalf. Sam talks about how the Washington defense generally approaches opposing receivers. Another matchup to watch on the defensive line is Montez Sweat on the Seahawks right tackle. We also discuss the kind of impact Jamal Adams could have in this game, whether Alex Smith is able to play or if Seattle will face Dwayne Haskins.

In this episode we summarize the details from an article by Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune that details a police report regarding a 2017 incident. Reed said that while he doesn't agree with the NFL's decision, he will respect the decision and tell his teammates to learn from his experience. He says he doesn't think this incident will impact his ability to stay with the team long term. Reed will be allowed to practice with the team and play in the preseason, and will then sit out for the first six regular season games.

21 Jan 2025 | Can the Seahawks find the "next Brock Purdy" in this draft class? | 00:54:08
NFL scouts may have learned a thing of two after every single one of them "missed" on Brock Purdy in 2022, allowing the SF 49ers to nab their franchise QB with the last pick of the draft. What qualities did Purdy possess that the Seahawks should be looking for as they scour the 2025 QB draft class looking for a player who could be THEIR next long-term answer at the position?
I'll describe it, and then let you know one prospect in this class in particular I think fits the mold, and could very well be a future Seahawk for that reason.

10 May 2020 | Lofa Tatupu, former Seahawks linebacker, joins the show to talk about first-round pick Jordyn Brooks | 00:21:05
Lofa Tatupu was drafted by the Seahawks in 2005. Since then, two linebackers have now been selected ahead of him. Jordyn Brooks is one of those two players and the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker joins the show to talk about Seattle's latest selection and where he sees him as an immediate starter for the team. The team also recently announced the numbers the rookies would be wearing in 2020, and Lofa talks about what went into him wearing 51 after wearing 58 during his time in USC. We also discuss his time as a rookie in 2005 under Coach Holmgren versus Coach Carroll's approach with rookies in 2010.

29 Aug 2019 | Why a Jadeveon Clowney trade makes sense for the Seahawks | 00:19:52
Brandan joins Anthony Nachreiner on 600 AM KGEZ this week to talk about why the Seahawks should be interested in trading for Jadeveon Clowney, the exciting part about this part of the preseason, and how Russell Wilson looked in the latest game against the Chargers. C.J. Prosise hopefully showed enough to turn himself into a guy who the Texans might be interested in trading for. We close out the show hat to expect in some of the position battles ahead of the 53-man roster cuts and talk about Andrew Luck's decision to retire and why it's not shocking that fans were upset to learn about the news the way they did.

04 Oct 2019 | RECAP: Rams vs Seahawks - A Tribute to Mr. Paul Allen | 00:44:32
It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Seahawks fans in this game watching the Rams get out to the early lead following a Jaron Brown fumble on the first possession. Later in the quarter, Russell Wilson connects with Tyler Lockett on an incredible play to put the Seahawks in the lead despite to early scoring drives by Los Angeles. Then it was back to the lows after Seattle chooses to play conservative and settle for a long field goal on 4th and 1. A miss by Jason Myers is followed by two touchdown scoring drives by the Rams and the two teams spend time trading scores in the second half. After Chris Carson bobbles a fourth down catch in the end zone for the go ahead score, it looks like Seattle had the game in the bag after an incredible interception by Tedric Thompson. Unable to get a first down, they give the ball back to the Rams who drive down and get in position for a game winning 44-yard field goal. Adam Emmert joins Brandan Schulze to talk about the highlights from Seattle Seahawks Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams.

29 Oct 2019 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: In a tale of two halves, you still have to recognize the other half | 00:51:32
At 6-2, the Seattle Seahawks are halfway there (in terms of a potential postseason berth) and living on a prayer. Clinton Bonner and Brandan Schulze take a look at the 27-20 victory over the Falcons and talk about the best moments that you may have gotten overlooked as well as some of the things that helped contribute to the second half comeback by the Falcons. Clinton kicks things off by giving respect to one player in particular that he has been critical of in previous weeks, but after a game like the one he had, Rashaad Penny gets the first IN. Check out this week's show to find out why Jadeveon Clowney, despite a performance where he was in the backfield for a lot of the game, wound up with the final OUT of the day.

06 Apr 2023 | Searching for another Bobby Wagner-type in this draft. Maximizing value at the 5th pick. Will Levis over Anthony Richardson? And my "Fav 5" EDGE prospects. | 00:55:46
With 3 weeks until the first round of the draft, the Seahawks are finalizing their draft board. Is Jalen Carter on it? He's trending on Twitter today.... let's talk about why.
Are the Raiders poised to throw a wrench into Seattle possible QB plans?
Bobby Wagner spoke with the media this week and divulged that he wants to retire a Seahawk. So is 2023 his swan song? And are there any ILB's in this draft who look like the "next Bobby?"
I'll unveil my "Fav 5" list at the EDGE position, which includes a couple day 3 sleeper-types you should keep an eye on.
Finally, with all the attention surrounding Anthony Richardson as a potential Seahawk target, what about Will Levis? There are reasons to believe John Schneider might just fall in love with the Kentucky QB above all others.

13 Aug 2019 | Preseason week 1 recap: Seahawks show off improved depth in win over Broncos | 00:38:11
Rob Staton joins Brandan to talk about the game, what stood out, and what we're looking forward to seeing in the next game against the Vikings. With the Seahawks getting their first win of the preseason out of the way in Week 1 against the Broncos, we don't have to worry about another 0-4 start before the regular season this year. Sure we all know that doesn't matter, just as penalties and replay reviews in the preseason penalties don't matter, but we all manage to get worked up -- because football is BACK!
One of the reasons why the Seahawks were able to get the 22-14 win was because of their depth this year. When we watched the team in 2018, they struggled to hold teams and put points up on the board late in games. That wasn't the case against the Broncos as Paxton Lynch had a solid game against his former team, even bowling over third stringers to get into the end zone for a touchdown. Let's see how he does against the Vikings second string defense before we start to get excited about his potential as a backup for Russell Wilson.

10 Jul 2020 | The Seahawks success through mental imagery, optimism and grit with Michael Gervais | 00:28:21
In the Audible Original “Compete to Create,” released on July 9 by Seahawks sport psychologist Michael Gervais and co-authored by Pete Carroll, there are new details around the way the Seahawks test for grit. It's something that started with reports of Seattle engaging in staring competitions with potential draft picks.
We also discuss leadership styles. Richard Sherman recently contrasted the coaching styles between Kyle Shanahan and Carroll and we discuss the thoughts behind how Pete coaches players. We also go through some of the concepts in mental performance that have helped with much of the team’s success.
Tune into the episode as we talk about the grieving and healing process that some of us may still be working through after the end of Super Bowl 49. Gervais explains why some of our brains are wired to compartmentalize competitive losses in the same way our brains process the loss of loved ones.

07 Dec 2020 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Giants - A new perspective on the final four weeks | 00:28:00
The Seahawks offense posted their worst offensive performance of the season against the Giants. After quickly driving into the red zone on the first drive of the game, Russell Wilson never got back. The only touchdown of the game came on a 28-yard throw (passing over the red zone) after Seattle fell behind 17-5 in the fourth quarter. Stuart Court of the Pedestrian Podcast joins the show to talk about the loss and how it changes the perspective of these final few games of the season. While the defense kept the Giants passing offense in check, New York ran the ball effectively in the third quarter to take the lead. We close the episode by discussing how the loss essentially kills any hope for the Seahawks earning a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Ever since Mike Macdonald was hired on the last day of January to replace the legendary Pete Carroll as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, we've been waiting to see his vision of this team in action.

05 Nov 2020 | Bills preview: Concerns in Buffalo about the offensive line and defense at halfway point | 00:31:22
The Buffalo Bills are 6-2 and leading the AFC East. However, that doesn't necessarily mean all is well in Orchard Park. The offensive line has looked shaky, especially after the loss of their starting center against the Patriots. On the defensive line, it looks like a key piece has changed what looked to be a dominant defensive line coming into 2020. But Josh Allen has a weapon in Stefon Diggs and considering the Seahawks struggles in the secondary, it might be enough to keep them in a shootout with the Seahawks late in the game. Clay Troia, from the Bills Counterpoint Podcast, joins the show to preview Sunday's game and how he thinks Buffalo matches up with the 6-1 Seattle Seahawks.

29 May 2024 | Are the SEAHAWKS finally focusing on assembling a GREAT offensive line? (with Sanjit T) | 00:39:55
Sanjit T runs The Football Scout YouTube channel (as well as some college scouting). And while his outstanding film breakdowns cover every position from all around the entire NFL, he has produced several videos lauding the talents of some young SEAHAWK players over the past two seasons.
He has a particular affinity for some of the young Seattle offensive lineman, a position of concern among the Seahawks fanbase for quite awhile.
Is there now reason for optimism that the Hawks are putting the pieces of a great O-line in place? Sanjit will go through the depth chart in detail with me and share his thoughts on each prospect.
And stick around to the end when we talk a little bit about some of the talent on the OTHER trench line in Seattle as well.

24 Dec 2023 | RAPID REACTION! Geno Plays Santa, Delivers 20-17 Present In Seahawks Win Over Titans! | 00:31:14
For the second week in a row, the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback led them on a long, last-minute touchdown drive to pull out an important win.... only this time it was Geno Smith instead of Drew Lock.
Facing the Tennessee Titans in his first game back after missing two games due to injury, Smith shook off some first-half rust in leading the Seahawks to yet another come-from-behind win. And this one was big.... improving the Seahawks record to 8-7 and putting them back in the drivers seat for a wild card playoff spot.
In this RAPID REACTION episode I'll share my immediate thoughts about what we saw in this game: the good, the bad, and the misunderstood.

28 Dec 2019 | The Boz and the Beast, two Seahawks icons, in Seattle on Sunday | 00:28:52
Marshawn Lynch is coming back to Seattle to suit up for one last playoff run with the Seahawks. Another Seattle icon will be in the stadium on Sunday as Brian Bosworth will raise the 12 Flag for the kickoff of the final regular season game of the NFL season. Brandan joins Anthony Nachreiner on the Nach on Sports to talk about how the Seahawks keep adding to the fun of Sunday's matchup. It was a rough week of injury news, though, as Chris Carson went to injured reserve and Duane Brown is set to be up for the near future. Quandre Diggs is questionable for the game, but the key for the defense is going to be putting pressure on the 49ers quarterback and forcing him into some bad throws like he made in Santa Clara in Week 10. Anthony and Brandan also take a look around the NFL and pick Sunday's game.

24 Sep 2024 | Taking stock of who/what the Seahawks are after 3-0 start? What's the BIGGEST reason they're winning? | 00:39:20
They Seattle Seahawks are far from a perfect team at this point, yet through 3 games their RECORD is. Just one of 5 undefeated NFL teams, how are the Seahawks doing it, and is it sustainable?
Today I'll tell you why I think what's happening on defense WILL allow this team to continue to compete (and possibly contend?) week in and week out the rest of this season.
And among the players performing well on that side of the ball, is one emerging as a potential star? I'll dissect some film to illustrate the step Derick Hall has taken early in this, his second year as a pro.

01 Nov 2021 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Jaguars - quotes, highlights and top performers | 00:14:55
The Seahawks nearly shut out the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday as the defense allowed just one touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Travis Homer and the special teams unit made the Jags pay for their onside kick attempt by scooping it off the ground and taking it in for the touchdown. Geno Smith got his first win as a starter and got a majority of his yards throwing to Tyler Lockett, who he worked with a lot after practice this week and it paid off. Tune in to hear comments from Pete Carroll, Geno Smith, Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams from the Seahawks 31-7 victory over the Jaguars.

24 Nov 2021 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: On a very special episode . . . OMAHA! | 00:45:49
OMAHA! (or whatever it is the Seahawks say). It's an audible edition of 3 IN, 3 OUT following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Colt McCoy is now a name that shall not be spoken and receives a new pseudonym, because Pete Carroll and the Seahawks seem to have no answer for the veteran journeyman quarterback. We talk about some of the biggest disappointments of the season to this point, some of the bright spots, and the idea of being on team "blow it up" with regard to the future of the franchise. Regardless of the future possibilities and knowing the draft pick goes to the New York Jets, is a 4-13 record preferred over an 8-9 record? We discuss this and leave the INs and OUTs this week to our Flock.

14 Sep 2020 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Falcons - The Russell Wilson and Jamal Adams show | 00:26:36
The Seattle Seahawks get an opening day win on the road for the first time since 2013, and taking down the Atlanta Falcons 38-25. You have to go back to 2014 to find the last time Seattle won an opener by double digits. At home or away, the Seahawks have struggled in their first game of the season. The wins against the Bengals in 2019 and Dolphins in 2016 by 1 and 2 points respectively. To break down the victory for Seattle, Stacy Rost from 710 ESPN in Seattle joins the show as we discuss a huge game from Russell Wilson. He had a little something for everyone in this game, by starting out with three straight passes, topping 4,000 career rushing yards, and gave us one of his signature moments leading up to the Seahawks fifth touchdown of the day.

Where does this team stand after that loss. Are they the first-place, 5-3 team their record would suggest? Or.... does this young roster have a LOT farther to go before they can be considered a legitimate playoff contender?
Today I pose 3 important questions I have coming out of this game, the answers to which will determine just how far this team might be able to go. And we NEED to get these answers quickly, with two "winnable" games coming up before a daunting stretch of games to follow against the NFC's best teams.

05 Feb 2021 | Shaquem Griffin reflects on the NFC West title victory for the Seahawks | 00:13:51
Seattle Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin joins the show to talk about his work in partnership with The Hartford and its Ability Equipped program. We also talk about the feeling in the locker room about winning the NFC West title this year. It may come as a surprise to know that there were only six players on the 2020 roster who were here in 2016 the last time the Seahawks won the division. On the offensive side of the ball, Russell Wilson, Tyler Lockett and Luke Willson were the only three. Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright, and Jarran Reed were the only three on defense. Shaquem also talked about why special teams was so consistent this season and the work the team had to do on the sidelines to pump eachother up without fans in the stadium this season.

25 Sep 2020 | Russell Wilson wants the MVP, the Seahawks long injury list, Week 3 picks | 00:24:47
The Seahawks didn't escape the injury bug that hit the league in Week 2. Bruce Irvin and Marquise Blair were sent to injured reserve, so you won't hear their names, but Duane Brown, Rasheem Green and Benson Mayowa sat out practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. There was a long list of players who had relatively minor injuries or were rested from practice this week as well.
In my chat with Anthony Nachreiner of the Nach on Sports this week we talked about Russell Wilson's comments about wanting to win an MVP award and if there might be too much focus on that particular achievement. Despite two straight weeks of the Seahawks defense giving up big yardage, there's a bigger area of concern with the matchup against the Cowboys. Finally, we go through the Week 3 set of games and share our picks.

17 Oct 2023 | Is Geno Smith getting too much blame for Bengals loss? | 00:47:43
In this episode I react to the Seahawks 17-13 loss in Cincinnati - including my 5 Takeaways from the game as Seattle drops to 3-2 on the season.
Front and center, I address the widespread sentiment that Geno Smith is primarily to blame for this one, and I go to the All-22 coaches film to try and understand just what went wrong.
But as is usually the case, there was a lot of GOOD that Geno contributed in this game, and he had quite a bit of help in coming up just short of a big win.
What does it all mean for the Seahawks and Smith moving forward?

15 Mar 2020 | New CBA approved through 2030, notable NFL cuts ahead of free agency | 00:27:13
The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the NFL players and owners passed this weekend by a narrow margin. Ross Bell of the First and Ten Podcast joins the show to talk about the biggest takeaways from the new CBA. Playoffs will be expanded to 14 teams in 2020 and the NFL could shift to a 17-game regular season as soon as 2021. The players percentage of revenue goes up and minimum salaries go up by a significant amount, but there are some things that the league's top players were strongly against. Ahead of the new league year, the Seahawks haven't made any cuts to reduce salary costs, but other teams have. We discuss who could be of significant interest for the Seahawks as NFL free agency looks to start on Wednesday.

03 Nov 2020 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: Hey kids! Go be like Russ! | 01:01:57
The Seattle Seahawks are back in first place in the NFC after a win over their division rival and the 2019 NFC champions. As 3 IN, 3 OUT is into focusing on some of the micro moments of the game, Clinton Bonner focuses on a play that set the tone for the game just as things got underway. We discuss a position group that jumped off the screen for their run blocking ability (hint: it wasn't the offensive line). Also, we celebrate a wide receiver whose game won't jump off the stat sheet, but he showed up in some key moments. Finally, although Russell Wilson has been the talk of the league for a good portion of this season, there are even some nooks and crannies to get into with what we saw from him in this game.

15 Sep 2021 | Seahawks run game impressed Pete Carroll on both sides of the ball | 00:09:36
On Sunday, Chris Carson rushed for nearly 100 yards and Jonathan Taylor only averaged 3.3 yards per carry on 17 runs against the Seahawks defense. That performance received praise from head coach Pete Carroll and he also offered his thoughts on Russell Wilson's outstanding performance in Indianapolis. Pete Carroll also gave some updates to the injuries to Ethan Pocic, Rashaad Penny, Dee Eskridge, and Penny Hart.

30 Sep 2021 | Pete Carroll and Bobby Wagner react to Richard Sherman signing in Tampa | 00:16:27
On Wednesday, Pete Carroll and Bobby Wagner were on the podium and both were asked for their thoughts on Richard Sherman signing in Tampa. Bobby talked about how he thought all along that Sherman would eventually be back in Seattle. Looking ahead to Sunday's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, Carroll (in a roundabout way) compares their rookie quarterback to one of the all-time greats at the position. Schematically, Bobby expects the Niners to run a lot of screen passes based on their recent performance against the play. Finally, Ken Norton Jr. gets a chance to address any issues that he saw coming out of the game against the Vikings on Sunday.

08 Jan 2022 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: What if...? 2022 is the year of the Seahawk | 00:39:32
What does a Water Tiger have in common with a Seahawk? The answer is everything, because they're the exact same thing (don't look it up). As we turn over the calendar to the year of the Seahawk, we talk about some of the things we'll be looking for in the final game of the 2021 NFL season. Which player on the offensive line are we watching to see if he could be sticking around after his rookie contract? On defense, can one cornerback show us enough to make the Seahawks sign him to a long term deal? We also discuss the things we want to see continue in 2022 and those patterns from this Seattle team we would lik to see go away. Finally, let's see who wins the battle of 'wants' that we bring up between Chandler Jones and Darrell Taylor.

16 Sep 2019 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Steelers - Seattle finally scores at Heinz Field | 00:41:31
Another week and another close win as the Seahawks turn what was looking like a comfortable fourth quarter win into a nail biter at the end. A fumbled transition between Russell Wilson and Chris Carson puts the ball on the ground and the Steelers are able to get a quick score to get within two points 28-26. That score would hold as the Seahawks control the ball for the last five and a half minutes of the game thanks to a Carson first down on a fourth and one play.
After losing a challenge to a pass interference penalty early in the game, Pete Carroll was able to successfully win an uncalled penalty on Tyler Lockett in the fourth quarter. It was a big day for Locket who had 10 catches for 79 yards. Wilson threw for 300 yards on the day and Pete Carroll was able to get a win on his birthday - the first win for the Seahawks in Pittsburgh since 1999.

DK Metcalf was among four Seahawks players on offense who spoke to the media to close out the season. Considering the 7-10 finish on the season, Metcalf said 'something has to change' whether it be personnel, play calling or scheme changes going into the 2022 season. Ethan Pocic will be a free agent and said he expects to be back with the team. Duane Brown said he is open to returning to the team on a one-year contract, and Adrian Peterson said he can't imagine ending his career the way this season ended for him.

The Seattle Seahawks had their first day of Rookie Minicamp on Friday. Pete Carroll, Darrell Taylor and Stone Forsythe spoke to reporters about getting out on the field for the first time this year. Although Taylor was a part of the 2020 rookie class, he missed the entire season recovering from a leg injury. He talked about where he can fit into the defense this upcoming season. Coach Carroll also talked about his excitement around 2021 second-round pick D'Wayne Eskridge and the speed that he brings to the Seahawks offense.

13 Oct 2019 | RECAP: Seahawks vs Browns - Pete Prisco now has Russell Wilson's back | 00:29:04
The Seahawks face some adversity on the road, giving up three straight touchdowns to start the game and are able to come back from a 20-6 deficit to win 32-28. Christopher Kidd of the Seahawks Man 2 Man podcast joined me to talk about the victory and the resume that Russell Wilson continues to put up for his MVP campaign. It even has one of Wilson's previous detractors Pete Prisco jumping on the hype train after the win,
Pete Carroll talked about how turnovers come in bunches sometimes and it was a forced fumble by Ziggy Ansah, and interceptions my Tre Flowers, KJ Wright and Tedric Thompson. Thompson now has an interception in back-to-back games. Baker Mayfield was complaining about some missed calls by the referees after the game, but while the Browns were able to drive the field against the Seahawks defense, it was those turnovers in critical moments that helped propel Seattle to victory.

10 Aug 2020 | First Seattle player placed on Reserve/COVID-19 list as Dunbar comes off exempt list | 00:31:14
The Seattle Seahawks have added a player to the Reserve/COVID-19 list for the first time. Although John Ursua is on the list, there are a couple different things that it could mean in terms of his health. If testing doesn't improve, it could add another wild card ahead of playing games this season. Quinton Dunbar's opportunity to play in 2020 improved as charges were dropped and he was removed from the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List. Last week, Mike Silver reported that the Seahawks "appear to have moved on from Jadeveon Clowney" We discuss what the different options between Clowney, Everson Griffen and Clay Matthews would bring to the Seahawks pass rush.

The Seattle Seahawks today released starting safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs, as well as tight end Will Dissly.
Where does the team's salary cap stand after these moves, and what might general manage John Schneider do with the available funds?
Does this indicate the team is in more of a rebuild mode than some anticipated?
Who could be released next, or will we see some players restructure their contracts in order to create even more financial flexibility?

02 Nov 2020 | RECAP: Seahawks vs 49ers - Delivering in all phases in the 3rd quarter | 00:32:35
Russell Wilson and D.K. Metcalf connected for some huge plays in their Week 8 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers on their way to a 37-27 victory. But it was the Seahawks play in all three phases in the third quarter that gave the team a 20-point lead going into the fourth quarter. The defense held the 49ers to only six offensive plays in the third quarter, special teams had a huge turnover, and Russell Wilson escaped a sack to hit David Moore on third down for a score. John Fraley, Field Gulls contributor, joins the podcast as we discuss how Russell Wilson is "back on the tracks" for MVP talks and how this loss may doom the 49ers going into their next four games of the season.

05 Mar 2024 | Can the Seahawks afford to move up for a QB? | 00:32:15
So much speculation about the Seahawks apparent interest in some of the top QB prospects in this year's draft (they met with Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels at the combine), guys who they would no doubt have to move UP in the draft to acquire. But... can they afford it?
I'll take a look back at some trade-up scenarios in the not-too-distant past, and compare them to reports of what it might take to move up in THIS year's draft to try and make sense of it all.

15 Mar 2022 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: Free Agency Day 1 - Thigh Arms Returns | 00:33:35
There were several Seahawks free agents announcing their return to Seattle on the first day of free agency. Most notable was the signing of Quandre Diggs who will be an important part of maintaining the culture on defense. Russ is gone. Blame it on the Shane? No, blame it on Russ. Clinton talks about some of the tea-leaves that should have been a clue that Russ was maneuvering to exit stage left. Given the free agent market and potential draft picks (and with Watson seemingly not interested) - where do the Seahawks go from here? Finally, the return of Ol' Thigh Arms to Seattle.

09 Feb 2024 | Seahawks hire Defensive Coordinator, but search for OC drags on.... | 00:23:43
Another "outside the box" hire!!
Aden Durde is your new Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator under newly-appointed head coach Mike Macdonald, and he has an extremely intriguing background.
I'll go over his resume with you and then we'll talk about the still-vacant and ever-important OC position.
With Chip Kelly OUT of the race now, where does that leave the search? There's a very interesting name I overlooked in my last show, serving a key role on the Kansas City coaching staff. Could this search be shaping up just like the head coaching process did, with candidates waiting on offers while John Schneider makes sure to turn over every single possible rock to find the right guy? Is that guy coaching in the Super Bowl this Sunday? And what about Ryan Grubb..... is he still in play?

31 May 2021 | At Seahawks OTAs, Pete Carroll says 'door is still open' for KJ Wright return | 00:17:42
The Seattle Seahawks voluntary offseason program kicked off last week with a heavy emphasis on "voluntary" as most Seahawks veterans choose not to participate. Pete Carroll said it doesn't bother him that other division rivals have their veterans attending OTAs. Ahkello Witherspoon, who the Seahawks picked up in free agency from the 49ers, was in attendance and spoke to the media. He said he considers himself a top corner when healthy and has been working through a couple different injuries. Finally, we hear from Jon Rhattigan who was an undrafted free agent linebacker at Army.

18 Nov 2021 | Jordyn Brooks may call on a former Seahawks linebacker for help defensively | 00:10:11
After Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, head coach Pete Carroll had some praise for linebacker Jordyn Brooks and also noted some areas for improvement. In his press conference with the media on Wednesday, Brooks talked about the importance of being able to improve how he defends screens and how he may call on K.J. Wright for some tips on how to improve. Coach Carroll provided updates on Chris Carson and Duane Brown and Ken Norton Jr. talked about how L.J. Collier can have a role in helping to improve Seattle's pass rush.

08 Nov 2023 | Is there a QB controversy brewing for the Seahawks? | 00:29:54
Geno Smith vs. Drew Lock.... it's what some of you want to talk about this week, and has even been a big topic on local sports radio.
Is it warranted?
Today on the show I'll take a look behind the numbers. Who is Geno Smith, historically, and who is Drew Lock? How do they compare? Do their combined college and NFL stats indicate certain skills that may help make sense of the difference between the two?
In short, would the Seahawks be better off giving Lock a chance to play? Also, I'll look back in Pete Carroll's history to another example of when his veteran starter struggled mightily (even worse than Geno is) to try and gauge how he might handle this.

06 Aug 2019 | Day 9 of Training Camp with D.J. Fluker, Pete Carroll and Jason Myers | 00:21:24
The Seahawks wrapped up day 9 of training camp on Monday ahead of Thursday's preseason game with the Denver Broncos. D.J. Fluker brought his big personality to the podium and admitted that he was too big to play football with the younger kids and he was so big that he had a hard time finding shoes. Pete Carroll talked about Bobby Wagner's absence from practice due to a special kind of treatment he's getting. He also said that Tyler Lockett is the guy he's looking to for taking over the role vacated by Doug Baldwin. Carroll sounds like he's counting on his linebackers this season for the success of the defense and offered injury notes for a few other players. Jason Myers closes out the show by talking about the chemistry between him, Michael Dickson and Tyler Ott and how they're dialed in when it comes to kicking extra points and field goals.

02 Sep 2020 | 3 IN, 3 OUT: Over and under the 2020 Seattle Seahawks nooks and crannies | 00:42:25
3 IN, 3 OUT is back for the 2020 Seahawks season and this episode looks at nine different over/under questions in the nooks and crannies of the roster. Will there be a Seattle receiver outside of Tyler and D.K. who catches more than four touchdowns? Can Will Dissly eclipse 32 catches with Greg Olsen on the roster? How often will we see the Seahawks line up with two tight ends on the field? How about the likelihood of an in-season trade? Clinton and Brandan discuss all these questions and more.

04 Feb 2021 | Lofa Tatupu: K.J. Wright deserves another contract from the Seahawks | 00:46:27
Lofa Tatupu, former Seahawks linebacker (2005-2010) and assistant linebackers coach (2015-2016), joins the latest episode of the Field Gulls podcast to take a look back on this season and talk about ways the offense can improve under new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. We kick off the show talking linebackers as we discuss Bobby Wagner getting into the territory of becoming a first-ballot Hall of Fame linebacker. Lofa says K.J. Wright deserves to return to the Seahawks after having one of the best seasons of his career. When you consider Thomas Davis is retiring after a 16-year career, and came out of the same 2005 draft class as Lofa, some fans may be underestimating how many more seasons K.J. can offer this Seahawks team. Finally, we talk Super Bowl 55 and Lofa's pick to win on Sunday.

22 Feb 2024 | Are the Seahawks waiting until 2025 to address the QB position? | 00:32:41
So much QB talk surrounding the Seattle Seahawks! Should they keep riding with Geno Smith or turn to Drew Lock? Or should they go all out to move up and grab one of the top prospects at the position in this years NFL Draft?
Or...... should they wait until 2025?!
"But Dan, that's CRAZY!!! Next year's class doesn't look that great!"
Is that so?
In this episode I'll break down every NFL team to determine which ones are hunting QB's this year, and then show you all the available options at the position (there's an unusually high number of them!) Then, we'll look at which teams may still be looking for answers at the position in 2025 and match that up with next year's potential draft class.
You may be surprised what you see and hear.

11 Jun 2021 | The Seahawks biggest offseason 'typo' (with Stacy Rost of 710 ESPN) | 00:35:29
For the first time this offseason, Russell Wilson responded to questions from the Seattle media about comments he made going all the way back to February and trade rumors that surrounded him in the following months. Stacy Rost of 710 ESPN joins the show to talk about the comments that sparked the offseason discussion and the tweet from Wilson's agent that offered four destinations where he could possible approve a trade. But there was a considerable 'typo' that may have led to Wilson having discussions with top members of the Seahawks front office.
Has Seattle done enough to improve this offseason? Can personnel alone fix the issues that doomed the 2020 season? Stacy addresses these questions and we talk about what Jamal Adams could ultimately be paid when it comes to some of the other top talent in the NFC West.

28 Aug 2024 | Roster-Palooza! Surprises highlight Seahawks cut to 53 players - focus now turns to practice squad | 00:33:57
The Seahawks set their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday and it came with a number of surprises. Now the task of filling out the practice squad takes center stage.
My initial thoughts on the roster and practice squad signings (so far) and what they might tell us about the bigger picture. Also, what it might tell us about what comes next!

NFL Free Agency is coming up and Phil has come up with a board game version for how the Seahawks can play in free agency. Clinton and Brandan decide who to keep, who to cut, and the free agents they'll be going after while staying within a budgeted amount. There are some surprising cuts, maybe some surprising keepers, and some big names to be considered in free agency as the Seahawks look to improve next season.
