His latest album and sophomore effort, "You, Yeah, You," was released back in August on Oh Boy Records, and is a wonderful collection of songs and stories not to be missed. Tré was been picked up by Oh Boy in late 2019, and given a personal stamp of approval by the late John Prine, which was, in Tré's words, "life changing." 2021 was also an exceptional year for Tré, having been asked to perform at Newport Folk Festival with many of his heros, where he put in a striking debut performance that he said gave him the confidence to rise to another level. His recent Fall tour in support of Shakey Graves and Nathaniel Rateliff is direct evidence of a fulfilling new direction. Welcome to Roadcase!! Madison Cunningham is a native of Southern California and a two-time Grammy nominated artist whose latest effort, "Wednesday," is in the running for Best Folk Album for the 2022 Grammys. And to further solidify her genre-spanning artistry, she was nominated in the Best Americana Album category for her "Where Are We Now" album in 2019. Her development as an artist -- having been homeschooled in a fairly religious household, and not having been exposed to popular music heroes until her late teens -- gave Madison a unique perspective to build her guitar skills and artistry from a place all her own. Her music -- an eclectic mix of rock, classical elements, folk, and jazz -- gains even further texture by the strength of her gorgeous voice. Telling her own story in her songs, and working with such greats as Chris Thile and Andrew Bird along the way, Madison continues to be an integral part of the "new Laurel Canyon sound" that has been influencing many amazing artists from within the heart of the Los Angeles music scene for years now. Madison is a true hard-working artist with an uber-strong work ethic and a heart of gold. So hop on the Roadcase bus for this episode and learn more about Madison Cunningham. Welcome to Roadcase!! We're so psyched to have the amazing Andy Frasco on the show. Andy is a native L.A. dude -- which we love -- but more importantly, Andy is the ultimate hard-worker and road warrior. Having performed upwards of 250 shows a year for almost 10 years, he has built a huge following both on the road and with his successful podcast, Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast. Andy's live shows are full-on collective explosions of fun, great music, and a celebration of life, albeit at times quite over the top. But Andy has cooled his jets significantly as of late and has gained more focus on living healthy (relatively speaking), and preaching self-love and being present in the moment. The shift Andy has undergone is absolutely noteworthy in today's complicated times of uncertainty and emotional upheaval, and he now brings a very admirable self-reflective attitude that is both warm and refreshing. Andy is one of Roadcase's favorite people; his easy laugh and fun loving attitude make him the perfect guest. So jump onto the Roadcase bus for this simply awesome conversation with Andy Frasco. Hang on tight... it's a great ride!!

Welcome to Roadcase!! We're super-psyched to have Nashville-based artist, The Kernal aka Joe Garner, for this episode. Joe is an incredibly astute and at times acerbic songwriter who, despite his lineage, came into music as a path in his late teens, studying poetry and working his songcraft at open mics in college. Joe's signature is the red suit which belonged to his Dad and which Joe wears when performing to continue the tribute theme -- it's both touching and also slightly small, as Joe is quick to point out! Joe is an intelligent and affable human who moves forward with a mindful attitude accompanied by a playful and creative spirit. So hop on the Roadcase bus and learn more about this unique and amazing artist, Joe Garner, The Kernal. It's a great ride... and here we go!!

John and Ian have been intertwined musically and personally for over a decade now and their friendship plays out on both a personal and professional level while their chemistry is evident both onstage and off. As Deer Tick evolves as a band and as human beings, they retain what has brought them together in the first place; the desire to bring music to their fans in a pure and unadulterated way and to have the most fun doing so as possible. 20 Apr 2022 | Ash Reiter (Sugar Candy Mountain) | 00:55:53
Welcome to Roadcase!! We're extra-hyped to have Ash Reiter of Sugar Candy Mountain on this special 4/20 edition of the show. As an appropriate acknowledgement to today's date, Ash, along with her husband and musical partner, Will Halsey, are together the driving force behind this trippy, space-age psychedelic pop band that will melt your soul as well as your mind. While the vibe sounds recalls acid-soaked Beatles and Tame Impala, the impetus is more about the infinite possibilities of the creative mind. It's also about the tonal and overall musical surprises more than achieving a level of psychedelia as an end in itself. While the mood is trippy and fun, the music is superbly crafted with lovely, singable melodies. The duo are also parents of young children and Ash is looking forward to taking the entire family on the road starting in May. 30 Sep 2022 | Patrick Holland (Singer Songwriter) | 01:12:20
Welcome to Roadcase!! We're very excited to have the extraordinarily talented Patrick Holland on the show. Primarily known for his electronic music as Project Pablo, Patrick has just released his first guitar-driven, indie pop album entitled You're The Boss. Having spent years touring the world playing DJ sets and festivals, Patrick became disenchanted with the Electronica scene and has taken a turn inward, writing and performing his own songs, and to his own surprise, finally put his own voice out there, singing his own lyrics. The contrast of these two worlds is striking yet Patrick is up for the challenge, confronting his own demons head on as he moves forward in his most authentic way possible. It's wonderful and refreshing -- and the finished product of Patrick's initial foray into this new lane has yielded a beautiful, melodic, and wholly original musical effort. Welcome to Roadcase!! We are absolutely delighted to have S.G. Goodman with us for this week's episode when S.G. sat down with Josh just prior to her show at Schubas in Chicago during this stop on her very first headlining tour. Her recently released second album, Teeth Marks, is a simply stellar work of remarkable scope and comes close on the heels of her first effort, Old Time Feeling, released in 2020 and produced by none other than Jim James of My Morning Jacket. In the wake of her debut album, S.G. was lauded by Rolling Stone as an "untamed rock n roll truth-teller," and Teeth Marks is no exception. Her brutal honesty and courage is put on display as she covers a myriad of tough subjects, from self-love to the opioid crisis to deep trauma that lingers in the body. Much like her live performance, Teeth Marks is a poignant and compelling example of vulnerability combined with the power of music and the human spirit. Jesse is a prolific songwriter and composer, and his most recent album, Silver Balloon, which he co-produced with his good friend, Kenny Wolleson, is undeniably one of the best works of his storied career. But despite his early songwriting mega-success, Jesse is a tireless and methodical worker who lives by the motto "the only ritual I have is the act of working on something." 03 Feb 2023 | Early James | 01:26:09
Welcome to Roadcase!! We're totally psyched to have Early James on the show for this Episode no. 170! 10 Feb 2023 | Dre Smith (Producing a Kind Generation) | 01:14:15
Welcome to Roadcase!! Dre Smith of Producing a Kind Generation is on the show this week, and this is an absolutely stellar interview! PAKG has a new album coming out in April, and Dre talks to Josh about the myriad challenges he has faced in his life and as a result, how he came into his artistic expression fairly late. He has experienced horrible family trauma, and we discuss what impact his difficult upbringing has had on him and how it has affected his own musical direction. While PAKG is a unique and compelling Afro Art Rock band in which Dre is able to showcase his myriad musical talents, his message is clear and goes far beyond the music itself: we must speak out against injustice, all forms of racism, economic oppression and the immense challenges endemic to the environment where he grew up, and spread a message of love and kindness -- but not without an eye towards enacting positive change, as difficult as that may seem. Dre is a kind and thoughtful soul who shares with Josh some of the personal stories that have shaped him into the human he is today, and what that means for Dre personally, professionally and musically. In going back to a more traditional recording process, Chris has once again broken new (and old) ground with his brother and Wood Brothers co-founder, Oliver Wood along with multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix on percussion and keys! Chris is an intriguing and well-rounded musician, coming from a jazz / improv background with Medeski Martin & Wood to the Americana vibes of The Wood Brothers. He is equal parts philosopher, farmer, producer, touring musician, and Dad -- and simply an all-around intriguing human -- who moves in a direction and then goes for it. The life balance for Chris is really what is important -- the key to which is constantly challenging himself in a multitude of ways in order remain steady, vibrant and excited as he hits the road touring in 2023. Make sure to check out this stellar interview with one of the most intriguing artists out there today, Chris Wood of The Wood Brothers!! Contact: info@roadcasepod.com

Taylor Upsahl, who performs under the moniker UPSAHL, is an incredibly talented and driven young artist, who is not only super-innovative in her creative expression, but also does so while maintaining a fresh and disarming self-awareness. A resident of LA now for several years, Taylor has successfully and wonderfully created a compelling pop-rock lane that has garnered her legions of fans, despite her young age of 24. 12 May 2023 | Thee Sacred Souls | 00:32:45
Josh Lane, vocalist and frontman of today's featured guest, Thee Sacred Souls, describes music as "human medicine." We couldn't agree more. Joined on this week's episode by guitarist Alex Garcia and bassist Sal Samano, Josh connects with Thee Sacred Souls' fans in a unique and down-to-earth way. This trio of native Californians started out only a few years ago in 2019, and their self-titled debut album, released just last year, was met with broad acclaim that surprised even the band itself. Combining a 70s soul and R&B vibe with deeply personal yet universal themes, Thee Sacred Souls has charmed it's way into the hearts of its growing following. Their authenticity truly resonates with their fans, and is even more striking in a live setting, where the band excels in building that connection residing at the heart of live performance. Thee Sacred Souls give permission to bathe in the emotion of both the music and the message -- and they'll be taking that vibe on the road this year to Newport Folk Festival, among other dates, as well as playing in support of Portugal. The Man and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. Find out more about this intriguing band on this episode of Roadcase!! Contact: info@roadcasepod.com
19 May 2023 | Maggie Arthur (Calling All Crows) | 01:30:47
April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month and to help us shed light on this important issue, Maggie Arthur stopped by to highlight the amazing work she does at Calling All Crows to ensure sure that music venues are safe spaces for all. Maggie recently joined Calling All Crows where she is now Director of the Here for the Music division. Prior to joining CAC, Maggie was at Resilience, a Chicago-based rape crisis center and before that, Maggie headed up Our Music My Body, a Chicago-based organization focused on creating an environment for all to enjoy music safely. To this end, Here for the Music seeks to prevent and end sexual violence and assault in live music spaces, and we discuss, among many topics, not only what individuals can do as bystanders when witnessing a situation, but also how to properly handle and assist if something unfortunate might occur. Here for the Music also seeks to educate not only the concert-going public as to the broader issue of Sexual Assault in society at-large, but also to educate venue owners and employees as to the importance of sexual assault prevention and what can be done on that front. We all want venues to be safe spaces free from sexual violence, and we applaud the work that Maggie is doing toward achieving this goal for all. So tune in for this very important interview with Maggie Arthur of Calling All Crows and learn what you can do to make music venues safe for everyone!
27 May 2023 | Izzy Heltai (Singer Songwriter) | 01:13:37
When Izzy Heltai's Mom took him to Newport Folk Festival as a kid, Izzy would never have believed he'd be playing that very stage roughly a decade or so later, but lo and behold, dreams do sometimes become reality. But that road has not been an easy one for Izzy. As a trans person, self-realization had been forced upon him in a very real and striking way. And as a young trans youth, Izzy was forced to know himself far more than some people ever will; yet his struggle with identity has made him the person he is today. As a result, the authenticity and barebones realism in his artistic output is even more striking. Not only has Izzy been writing songs since he was 16 years old, but he's a true Road Dog -- slogging out time in his van driving across the country, touring in true DIY style. Now having performed at Newport Folk, as well as Bonaroo, SXSW and ACL, Izzy has truly hit his stride. His lovely debut EP, Day Plan (5 songs Written 4 the End of the World), showcases his neo-folk vibe and authentic self in a compelling and down-to-earth fashion. His recent performance at the Love Rising Benefit at Bridgestone Arena in Newport to support the movement against anti-trans legislation has been a highlight of his year thus far and he will be playing Outside Lands Festival in August. Come learn more about this lovely, easy-going and compelling human on this episode of Roadcase! Contact: info@roadcasepod.com
02 Jun 2023 | Dusty Brooks and Dorian Domi (Oblivion Access Festival) | 01:00:22
Festival organizers Dusty Brooks and Dorian Domi have a unique partnership dating back to their one-time relationship as friendly competitors -- booking shows into competing Austin venues -- and have since joined forces to create Oblivion Access Festival (once known as Terror Fest) taking place in Austin, TX, June 15-18. Both native Texans and long-time Austin residents, these two powerhouses know the Austin music scene better than most, and have compiled a multi-varied, Metal and Hip-Hop-oriented festival, with a compelling Arts component to open the summer season in Austin. Most importantly, Oblivion Access has a deep commitment to inclusivity of all forms of self-expression -- a core value of the Metal world -- and Dusty and Dorian speak about the Festival going beyond the music itself to create a truly safe space for those seeking an outlet for their own creativity and individuality. We are truly grateful for Dusty and Dorian and Oblivion Access Festival and applaud their hard work and efforts to create beauty through Live Music in this increasingly difficult world we inhabit. Give a listen to this episode and learn more about Oblivion Access and how Dusty and Dorian have put their personal stamp on the Austin Music Scene. It's gonna be a great ride! 09 Jun 2023 | Lilly Winwood (Singer Songwriter) | 01:16:36
Born into a musical family and having grown up on both sides of the Atlantic, Lilly Winwood has thrived as a key Nashville songstress since she made Music City her permanent home, shortly after completing her studies in the UK. The daughter of British rockstar Steve Winwood (Traffic, Spencer Davis Group), Lilly enjoys a great relationship with her Dad, taking advantage of his experience and leaning on him as a key mentor. Having ultimately moved in the songwriting and alt-folk direction favored by many of those in the East Nashville set, Lilly's easy going manner, chill vibe and wonderful folk-pop songs have continued to propel her forward. Her latest effort and second LP, Talking Walls, released in 2022, has solidified Lilly as a fixture in Nashville's matrix of amazing female singer songwriters. Open, honest and endearing, this was a truly fun and fast-moving conversation; Lilly is a down-to-earth, sweet soul and her enthusiasm for life is infectious! 23 Jun 2023 | Peter One | 01:12:38
It has been a long road for Peter One from his humble beginnings in Ivory Coast, where he grew up not far from the administrative capital, Abidjan, all the way to Nashville and the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman. Having picked up a guitar at 17, then joining up with a schoolmate and fellow musician, Jess Sah Bi, Peter released his first album in 1985, Our Garden Needs Its Flowers, and shortly thereafter became a national sensation in his home country, playing for the President of Ivory Coast and regaling massive stadium crowds with his brand of Afro-pop and Americana-influenced folk. Packing up that success in a suitcase full of dreams, Peter left for America, landing in New York City in the mid-90s where he began a new life there working as a nurse and eventually moved to Nashville, all the while quietly making plans to rebuild his music career -- and that he did! With the re-release of "Garden" in 2018 thanks to the small indie label Awesome Tapes from Africa, and thanks to glowing reviews from both Pitchfork and Rolling Stone, Peter began to regain a level of popularity and begin his Second Act. Now, almost 40 years after his debut effort, Peter's sophomore album, Come Back to Me, has just been released on Verve Records. Triumphantly, but not unexpectedly, Peter eventually found himself playing big stages in the U.S. and even opening at The Ryman for Jason Isbell, who explained, "he's a natural performer; you feel like you're seeing someone who is a legendary singer." This is an amazing comeback story, and one of patience, perseverance and determination; one that is loaded with Peter's lowkey and confident vibe, all the while infused with his firm belief in himself and what he knew to be true about the power of his own creative expression and what he has to offer the world. Join us on Roadcase while Peter talks about the long road from Ivory Coast to Nashville on this week's episode. It's a great one!! Contact: info@roadcasepod.com

26 Jul 2023 | Nick Larson and Kevin Middlekauf (Proxima Parada) | 01:26:43
We're finally easing into summermode this week with our last full interview of the season and this is a great one! Proxima Parada's Nick Larson and Kevin Middlekauf have been friends since college in San Luis Obispo, CA, and have crafted a musical career together underpinned by the strong support of their fans and local community. Now, almost ten years into this, they're on their fifth album, Second Brother, released in 2021 and their free-flowing and sun-soaked indie soul vibes feel fresh and organic as ever -- most apropos for a native-California band. While their growing fanbase had been built on hardwork and much love, in late 2022, when a video clip of their music went viral on a popular TikTok channel and earned over 30 million views, these guys were launched well beyond their expectations -- a much welcomed turn of events for any band, let alone for Nick and Kevin who love to tour, meet their fans, and connect with audiences in a live setting.
