29 Jul 2022Rethink What Matters00:07:08

The Rethink What Matters podcast by awardaroo.io is dedicated to helping you improve your life, your business performance, your wellbeing, happiness and the planet one behaviour at a time.

Hosted by Paul Freudenberg, this is episode zero, an introduction to the Rethink What Matters podcast series to come. We start recording this series on the day James Lovelock the author of Gaia passed away. He had the insight back in 1972 to see that the planet is a single living system.

We can solve the challenges facing the world including climate change, mental health and improving business performance if we see them as one challenge, not many disconnected challenges.

We’ve become obsessed with measuring and managing quantifiable things; profit, sales, speed, grades etc but the things that matter can’t be managed and measured so easily; feelings, emotions, connection, belonging, respect, relationships, creativity, kindness, listening, values, beliefs, attention, security and safety for example. In short, we've become too transactional.

We don’t need a radical change to our political and economic systems as some might suggest; we just need to rethink what matters, to change our thinking, our focus and priorities and then the political and economic systems will follow.
