01 Mar 2023E2- Christi, our first guest (aka The One Where We Got Music!)00:24:45

Send us a text

This episode we have Christi- board member and Event Coordinator- as our first guest. She tells us about how she got involved with Motley Zoo and all the things she's been up to since. This is also the one where we finally get our own theme music thanks to Matt Setter and Sean Daily. You will laugh. You will cry...and you will wonder how we get anything done when the three of us are in a room together.

We had baby Helena (a blind Boston Terrier Roadie) in our sweatshirts, so you might hear her snoring!

13 Apr 2023E7- The (Foster-based) Application Process Part 100:25:24

Send us a text

This episode discusses some of the differences between rescue and shelter applications, why we ask for the information we do as well as what we're looking at when trying to match you with a pet. It's good information to know if you're considering adopting from a foster-based rescue anywhere!

This will be followed up with a Part 2, as there was too much information to fit into one episode!

04 May 2023E10- The One About Surrendering Your Pets00:30:15

Send us a text

This episode is about the many reasons we (and shelters) receive pets from owners who cannot keep their animals any longer. The list is long! While surrender is one way to solve a problem the animals are not always rehomable- or the problems people are experiencing have relatively simple solutions. We help the families get clarity on the next steps- especially whether surrender is required or if some help is all they need.

This week's Adoptable Roadie is Mark Ikagami, aka Ick. He is a really sweet, shy guy who would love an experienced handler and a new dog friend to grow with.

10 Aug 2023E19- Vaccines, testing and treatments for dogs & cats00:59:57

Send us a text

In this episode we talk about the vaccines and the frequencies we do them, and why this is the case- as well as other testing and treatments we do to prevent and treat fleas, heartworm and other "worms" typically seen, especially in puppies.

One thing we did not mention is that when we speak of "coronavirus" in our dogs, it is well before COVID19 and is NOT AT ALL RELATED. Just like "the common cold" is a coronavirus, so there is one for dogs too- but it's not COVID19.
