Whether you're doing dry January or carrying on with drinking as per usual, "to booze or not to booze" is a question that everyone seems to be asking in 2023. Even Gary Vaynerchuk, who is well known for his success in growing his family wine business, recently noted, "the mocktail biz is about to explode". Health Canada just released a statement recommending adults consume no more than two alcoholic beverages per week, due to the increased risk of disease. In this episode, Erin shares her personal experience re-introducing alcohol back into the fold after 1.5 years sober. Will alcohol trigger more anxiety? Is it possible to open the door to drinking but still say no most of the time? Is the messy middle social drinker and sobriety worth it? Tune in to find out whether it's truly possible to be sober-ish in a culture obsessed with drinking. Special guest, Erika, a past participant in the Raw Beauty Reset joins Erin to talk about her biggest "aha moments" from the program. PRESS PLAY!

03 Mar 2023Alcohol-free & Thriving with Elizabeth Gascoigne00:42:26
"I'm worried I'll be so boring without alcohol." This is one of the top concerns people have when they think about reducing their alcohol intake. The thought of being social without the social lubricant is enough to keep people sipping alcohol when they don't really want it. Today's guest, Elizabeth Gascoigne had a social, on-again/off-again relationship with alcohol. Deep down, she knew alcohol wasn't serving her and it was actively hindering her ability to feel good and thrive. Like many others of her generation, she was officially ‘sober-curious.’ Quickly realizing there was a lack of nightlife options that didn't center around alcohol, she decided to launch a non-alcoholic pop-up bar experience, Absence of Proof, and was amazed when the parties popped off. Now she's expanding into new cities and hosting a variety of alcohol-free events. Whether you're drinking alcohol, reducing your intake, alcohol-free or sober this episode has something for everyone to sip on!

The next story comes from our new podcast partner Shameless Pets, and frankly I love it because EVERY dog or cat owner with kids can relate to it. When the founder of Shameless Pets, James, worked as a corporate food buyer at the giant retailer, he witnessed the absurd amount of food that went unused in stores every week. In fact, in the US alone, 63 MILLION tons of food gets tossed out every year! And here’s the part I love most: when James’ kids were learning to talk, some of their first words were “Mina, no!” because she’d try and swipe their meals. I can totally see that happening in so many households! And that’s when it hit James: he could reproduce the unused ingredients into healthy dog treats that Mina and her pals would love. He teamed up with a food scientist, Alex and Shameless Pets was born! To date, Shameless Pets has saved over half a million pounds of food and turned it into 3 categories of delicious dog treats, as well as a new line of cat treats. There are lobster treats, salmon stripes, berry sticks and many, many more! You can order them to be delivered to your door - and even have an ongoing subscription at your desired frequency to make sure you never run out. And here’s a treat for all my listeners: shop now and use code RAWBEAUTY for 25% off. Again that’s RAWBEAUTY - please refer to the show title spelling - for 25% off. Visit: https://shamelesspets.com/
