TapDaddy is a HipHop producer, incredibly passionate about sample-based production. In addition to selling his works to artists, he also hosts a Twitch stream where he makes beats and provides live feedback for artists and producers. He's BoomBap producer who specializes in Oldschool, ChillHop, and JazzHop. He's been producing for 10 years. He gives live feedback to producers and artists, make beats in Ableton Live, and talk about all things music. He also hosts rap cyphers and beat battles. He sells beats and works with artists (via beatstars). He streams on Twitch 3 days per week, offering live feedback to artists and producers. He also alternates between hosting beat battles and rap cyphers every Sunday. He has quite the enthusiastic cyphering community, and his beat battles have been really growing lately. He hosts a discord server which serves as a hub for his twitch community. He recently hit 1k subscribers on YouTube. In addition to selling his beats, he also puts them on all major platforms. He's a producer with a small listener base (currently at 269 monthly Spotify listeners). He's been playing piano since he was 4. He is 27 now. He's been producing for about a decade He didn't get serious about music production until about a year and a half ago when he was laid off from his first job after graduating from college. He'd decided to 360 from software, and jumped head first into music production. He works about 70 hours per week operating his business, TapDaddyBeats. Before starting TapDaddyBeats, he use to make ableton tutorials on YT. Today's musical guest is Chase Davidson! He is an artist living just outside of Chicago with his family. From the day he entered into this world, he has been surrounded by music his entire life. From a very young age, his mom and dad have exposed his brother and him to a wide variety of music and have had a major influence in his life. Being involved in choir themselves, they have always been enthusiastic and encouraged us to pursue our musical interests. Over the course of his childhood, he took multiple years of piano lessons, was involved in a couple musicals and naturally picked up singing from my parents along the way. He has always been a creative person, whether it was making videos with my friends on our home computers, writing songs growing up on the piano and guitar, or streaming live capping flags in the kingdom of Azeroth (if you know, you know), it gives me great satisfaction and sense of purpose to express myself and share my emotions. In the summer of 2017, looking for a new passion to sink his time into, he began learning how to self produce and create my own music from the ground up. With an interest to fledge out songs ideas he had written on piano and guitar into full blown tracks, he dove into music production head first. He always push myself to create whatever he is passionate about and inspired by in the moment, using whatever style of music to best capture my feelings and emotions. He writes songs in a variety of different genres ranging from Pop and Hip Hop, to Future Rhythm and Rock. A true New York native, B. Lansky is an ‘88 baby who was born in Manhattan. He was raised on Long Island before moving back to Manhattan at the age of 20. While working at Zoo Studios in the South Bronx, Lansky developed a strong love and solid appreciation for the music industry. Today we meet a nice slice of the splinter fraction! Russ Hillier, 34, based in Southampton, UK. he has played in bands for years, mostly guitar and some backing vocals. Music has always been a hobby and passion since his early teens, and a few years ago when his band split up. He wasn't ready to let the dream die. No longer with his bandmates, instead of forming another collective, he decided to take a solo route, which resulted in his transition over to hip-hop & rap. He started making beats around 2014/15, a real mess of genres, really just a hobby and outlet for his creative side. Once he was starting to feel okay with his production chops, he wanted to start bringing in vocalists - but didn't have confidence in his instrumentals alone. So he started laying down my own vocals on them. It sounded horrible, but he really enjoyed the process, letting go of his inhibitions in the vocal booth (literally a closet under the stairs, nothing glam) and started getting heavily into poetry in lyrics, wordplay, humor - all the stuff that makes up good, solid bars. He was trash at this too! But the enjoyment and his ignorance at the time meant I loved it, so he carried on regardless. Fast forward a year or two, he found a community within the makinghiphop subreddit cypher, where rappers are invited to lay down a verse based on a set theme & beat. This gave him a chance to get feedback on what he was doing. Things have changed over the years, but it felt like for the longest time he was one of the few UK frequenters of that competition. This gave him and edge in ways as his voice was very unique there, as most of the users seemed to be US-based. Maybe his shitty flows could be disguised as an accent thing, he dunno lol. But over the years, he made some solid connections, now he has done several collab projects, he's one of 4 pillars that make up the group "Nomadic Odyssey" and recently (since June 2021) he formed an offshoot of rappers from that community known as "Splinter Faction." Most of my time currently is spend working on collaborations with the Splinter Faction dudes. The group is 14-15 members strong, some more involved than others, but it means he's always got his work cut out for him, which is a great thing. He rarely have any time for writer's block these days, with multiple songs being worked on at any given time it's hugely helped me get organized and busy with consistently smashing out releases under the SF umbrella. Shaun Sheena Premnath is widely recognised for his abilities to touch the hearts of many through one unique aspect, his music. By realising there is another world beyond the Western conventions of music, he studied the North Indian Classical Music. From then, he intends to create a new genre that will aid him in further developing his traits as a composer, and his skills as a musician. Ever since the age of 10, he has been incredibly active with his performing abilities, building a rather strong relationship with something he’d like to call his friend; the stage. Whilst he plays a variety of instruments at leisure, his accomplished ability to bring the nimble keys of a piano to life and to derive the earthy, resounding beats of the tabla are just a few of the key aspects Shaun is capable of. Currently a composition student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the finest music institute in the Southern Hemisphere, it has provided him the ability to achieve his ultimate goal: to be the “master of both worlds”. With the unconditional love and support he has received throughout his life from his family, he feels that he will be able to achieve his dream. Ghost is a California raised gender non-conforming artist, born July 1991 in Riverside California. Learning from the greats, Ghost started honing their storytelling abilities by listening to rappers such as 2Pac, The Nortorious B.I.G, Nas, and Ludacris. When Ghost decided to make a YouTube channel and start rapping they were heavily inspired by Logic, who opened up Ghost’s eyes to the fact that peace, love and positivity could make money in the rap game. Now listening to artists such as Kid Cudi, J Cole and CHIKA Ghost has crafted themselves into a Swiss army knife of flows, easily able to go from a hard hitting rap verse to a melodic hook. A Champion for mental health, Ghost’s lyrics speak about their struggle with their own mental health and the darkness it brings, while trying to spread the message of positivity and acceptance. As a parent Ghost’s Children are a big inspiration for their music, much of what Ghost talks about is what they want to see change in the future for their kids. In 2021 Ghost met Lincoln, Nebraska based rapper Jinx and his Brother, Producer Cryptic-X, and immediately hit it off with both of them. 7 months later Ghost took a flight out to Lincoln and founded Killing Field Records with Jinx and while recording their first Album at Cryptic-X’s studio. Not showing any signs of slowing down, Ghost made a big move in April 2022 and moved from California to Lincoln, Nebraska to run the label. On August 7th, 2022 Ghost released their first studio album "Ghost Stories" featuring a beat from Cryptic-X on the opening track. The Sixth Letter is a product of a compulsion to create. In its early form, lead singer Marx Morta would piece beats together on any equipment he could get his hands on. Whether that was a sampler with about 30mb of memory bounced onto a cassette - to dated old computers from his first job in an office. Music had to be made by any means necessary. Marx’s love for hip-hop and breaks led to a foray into djing, and while preparing sets he would include some tracks of his own. The crowds didn’t realise that the music he was playing was his and were loving it, and that energy spurred a new focus & belief. After spending the majority of time making music by himself and as tastes and preferences ebbed and flowed - so did the production and song writing. Plays on BBC Radio 1 by the likes of legendary DJ's Steve Lamacq and John Peel quickly followed. A need to collaborate was felt, and band was what was required. The songs took a different shape once they were played by individuals, and re interpreted. This was exciting. Hip-hop’s influence is never far away in TSL’s song writing, with rap verses and bridges blending effortlessly into melodic choruses. While nu metal can be tagged on to The Sixth Letter’s style, it’s the more creative end of the spectrum that they’re akin to - bands such as Snot, Incubus & Deftones have made a big impression on the band. That and punk / rock with band members (former and current) having spent many a week in a van touring in bands of that genre. Its that 'DIY' ethic that started everything - and it has come full circle into 2021. After some challenging times The Sixth Letter have a renewed focus, energy & desire to take on the world, one venue at a time. Don't you love bands? Today we get an extraordinary look at a very special musician who is a father, college man, magnificent musician, and best-selling book author is it wonder women? is it superman? nah it's Dr. B! He is an experienced edm musician with a new song coming out every Friday! He worked with Swizz Beatz, Elephant Man, Just Blaze etc. Formerly known as Tha Madd Scientist, Dr. B began his deejay career as a turntablist. After performing at Montreal's (Canada) most popular shopping malls and clothing stores, Dr. B was approached to open up his own record/clothing store. After much success in Montreal, Dr. B decided to pursue music full time and move to New York City. In the early 2003, Dr. B began to work with super producers Cool & Dre, Tony Touch, Boogie Blind (USA Champion) and reggae sensation Elephant Man. The same year, Dr. B won the "DJ of the Year" Award for his mixtape, "Quotable". This passion lead to Dr. B working with Hip Hop legendary producer Swizz Beatz. Swizz also appeared in 24K's "Skully" video, produced by Just Blaze and executive produced by Dr. B. Although he has found success in Hip Hop music, his true love has always been the world of EDM. In 2019, Dr. B released his first dance record independently. His debut solo album, "I NEED A DR." will be released in 2022. Not to mention he loves cartoons and comic books! Everyone loves a good story about second-chances, and that’s exactly what Bill Abernathy’s story is all about.  The Kansas City, Missouri resident began writing songs in his early teens.  He played all through his school years, but then he stopped...Life took over. His last album, 2017’s “Find A Way” reached #5 on the Roots Music Report Traditional Folk Album chart, and the single, “Goodbye Will Never Come Again” reached #1 on the singles chart. Bill’s last collection of songs, the Roots Music Report Americana chart-topping album, “Crossing Willow Creek” is available now. The first single, “Cry Wolf” reached the iTunes Top 100 Rock Songs chart, while hitting the Top 5 on New Music Weekly’s country chart. The next two singles also received national and international charting.  Bill was also a December 2018 Billboard Magazine Emerging Artist.  He recently toured the mid-west on his “Living The Dream” solo tour. Bill’s brand new single, “A Thousand Wild Horses” from a forthcoming EP, was released in June 2021 and reached #1 on the South African ITunes Country Songs chart! Today's guest is a rapper and musician named Mainey (pronounced Maine Ee), which is actually a name or other way for saying manly/man though most people use the name as a term meaning crazy, dope, fresh, cool, etc. The name was given to him as a toddler by his grandfather way before the slang/term came about, he was called Mainey since he's known how to walk and talk. Growing up in the 90's era, the life that was given to him was established in the metro Oklahoma City area to be exact. Not being a stranger to poverty forced him to experience all sorts of life situations at an early age and as time went by he learning how to write about them in songs as a form of therapy at a very young age. Gang culture, drugs, and petty crimes all too often play a part in poverty stricken societies of this day and age. As time went by life taught him how to take negative situations and grow from them in a positive way so to speak. In his lifetime he has experienced growing up poor, dropping out of school, prison, just about everything the streets can offer, and now here he stands sharing his life story in hopes of making a world change for the better of life for us all. He specializes in sharing his life story through explicit free rap music and making productive vlogs here on YouTube so tune in when you see him.
