02 Sep 2024 | #027: Why Nobody Cares About Your Podcast | 00:12:33
I'm not usually a "hard truths" kind of person. In this episode we'll talk about what to do when you start having a podcast meltdown, my embarrassing first attempt at starting a podcast and why it's okay if no one cares about your podcast. 09 Sep 2024 | #028: The 3 Biggest Social Media Mistakes Podcasters Are Making in 2024 | 00:20:28
If every week you’re using the same Canva graphic that only gets 5 likes, this episode is your sign it’s time to revisit your podcast’s social media strategy. Chopping up episodes to recycle on TikTok isn't going to grow an audience in 2024. Because the truth is - the algorithm doesn't hate you, but it might hate your content. 🫣 I see podcasters making the same mistakes over, and over and in this episode we’re going to talk about the new era of short form content (TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts), whether you should pay for ads and sponsored posts and the non-traditional social medias that bring more listeners to my podcast than any other advertising. 28 Oct 2024 | #035: Turn Social Media Followers into Podcast Listeners | 00:15:22
Just because someone follows you on social media and likes every piece of content you make about your podcast doesn't mean they'll ever listen to your podcast. Most of the time, our social media followers have different reasons for following us than our podcast listeners have for listening.

22 Jul 2024 | #021: Good vs. Great Podcasts: The One Skill You MUST Master | 00:12:50
If I could give one piece of advice to EVERY podcaster it’d be this: the difference between a good and a great podcast is storytelling. The more engaging, relevant and relatable your stories are, the more quickly you’ll grow your podcast and brand. If you’re struggling to find new listeners, if you're constantly feeling burnt out from publishing and promoting new episodes, if you can’t figure out what sets your podcast apart, this episode is for you. 24 Feb 2025 | #052: Your Podcast is a Brand (Whether You Realize It or Not) | 00:17:04
Everyday we become more and more aware of the power of the ✨brand✨. But what does that even mean? Why should we care? Most of us probably wouldn’t consider our podcast to be a brand, but in 2025, that’s a huge mistake. In this episode we’ll talk about the importance of recognizing and nurturing the brand of your podcast, why branding matters and how to leverage your podcast branding in a way that grows your audience and helps your podcast make money.

07 Apr 2025 | #058: Before You Rebrand Your Podcast | 00:15:43
Rebranding a podcast is tricky. Branding a podcast is tricky. I’ve had several questions lately from established podcasters asking either what went wrong with their podcast rebrand or what they need to know before rebranding and in this episode we’ll talk about when to know it’s time for a rebrand, what you need to focus on during your rebrand and how to relaunch you podcast in a constructive way to attract new listeners while keeping your existing audience.

If you live in the United States the past 3 weeks have felt like a year. 🫠 It’s election year and also one of the most significant and historical presidential elections of our lifetime. Over the past month I’ve heard a lot of opinions on the right, left and quite frankly the pits of hell. Everyone has an opinion, but the bigger question is - should you share it on your podcast? 😬 In this episode I’m breaking down the pros, cons and my best advice for sharing your political opinions on your podcast.
27 Jan 2025 | #048: Why Your Podcast Marketing Isn't Working | 00:15:02
I’m going to say something and you might not agree with me, but in my experience this is the truth: marketing a podcast is harder than having a podcast. Finding the right people that should be listening to your podcast and reminding them every week to listen to your podcast is actually harder than making the podcast itself and that’s not easy. In this episode we’re going to talk about why your podcast marketing isn’t working, what you can do to improve and how we can make small changes to start rebuilding our listener base and engaging with our existing audience.

01 Jul 2024 | #018: How a Weekly Email Doubled My Downloads | 00:17:34
Over the past 2 months I’ve gone into the trenches of digital marketing research for my podcasts to figure out what will actually bring more downloads and listeners to each episode. Like so many business owners, brands and podcasters I knew the power of email marketing but it sounded like a major pain in the neck. Could it really help that much?? The marketing gurus aren’t lying to us about this one - sending a weekly email has more than doubled my downloads in the past 2 months and in this episode I’m going to break down for you exactly how I did it. In this episode: (2:18) The guest email that got my episode 30,000 downloads. (5:02) How to find the best place to host your emails and contacts. (6:47) How to start building an email list of listeners who actually want to open your messages. (10:25) The strategy I’ve used to grow my list since my first subscriber. (11:26) Why listeners are more likely to listen and buy from an email than social media. Want to check out my lead magnets? Start Sending Emails with ConvertKit

14 Apr 2025 | #059: Is ChatGPT Ruining Your Podcast? | 00:21:03
✨ChatGPT✨ it’s magical, it’s mystical and it really is amazing, mostly because it does all the stuff we don’t want to do. It might also be ruining your podcast. This episode is so contradictory to most of what I teach you about incorporating AI into your podcast workflow, but I’m seeing way too many podcasters destroying their podcasts with ChatGPT and before it goes on any further let’s have a candid conversation about what you should actually be using automation and large language models to do in you podcast and what’s total garbage slop that’s going to drive away your audience and future listeners. 🗣️ Want to learn how to use ChatGPT in a way that won't end your podcasting career? 08 Jul 2024 | #019: Podcast SEO: Your Guide to Higher Rankings | 00:17:17
A few weeks ago I saw someone on Threads asking why none of the podcast gurus ever talk about SEO for podcasts. As someone that works professionally in podcasting and digital marketing that made me laugh, because most of the podcast educators I follow are constantly talking about SEO for podcasting. But I get it! SEO is confusing, and boring and honestly kind of a pain in the neck to explain and implement. However, that doesn’t take away from its importance to help your podcast grow and reach new listeners across the internet. Once you get the hang of SEO and how to optimize your podcast, it’s a skill that will pay off forever. In this episode I’m breaking down what SEO is, how you can use it for your podcast and a few easy ways to start optimizing your own podcast episodes today.
03 Feb 2025 | #049: The 2 Podcast Types That Make The Most Money | 00:12:13
Only 35% of podcasts make money. If I'm being honest, I thought it would be less. 😬 Most podcasts will never get out of the red - and it's not their fault! Podcasting is expensive, time consuming and everyone thinks they're going to make money from it. In this episode we’ll talk about the two kinds of podcasts that actually make money. How to better align your podcast with one of these two strategies and why so many podcasters are never able to monetize their podcast.

11 Mar 2024 | #002: How Much Does It Cost to Start a Podcast | 00:24:35
Like so many new podcasters, in the beginning I was relying on my most *trusted* mentors – Google and YouTube for all my advice on podcasting. The funny thing is, today the first result when I Google “How much does it cost to start a podcast?” is a Forbes article that says starting a podcast could cost anywhere from $20 to $5,000?! That a huge range, and while it’s fairly accurate, that's probably not the answer you were hoping for. My best advice is to remember it's okay to grow with your podcast and invest more as your audience and opportunities grow. Don't let the cost stop you from starting. After all, some of the most successful podcasts start with nothing but a great idea and a passion for sharing it! In this episode: Links mentioned in this episode:

15 Apr 2024 | #007: The Best Podcast Promotion Tool You Aren’t Using | 00:21:17
Do you want people to listen to your podcast? Of course you do! 😀 But do you actually know where your future listeners are going to find new podcasts? 👀 If I’m being totally honest, I’ve spent years trying to promote podcasts on platforms and with strategies that no one cared about (and the numbers were showing it)! At the beginning of this year I completely started over on social media for this podcast and I had a giant aha moment. My instagram followers aren’t looking for a new podcast to listen to.. they were looking for funny reels and pictures of cats to scroll through. That’s when I discovered how quickly my Pinterest content was gaining attention. On Instagram where I struggled to get 1k views a month I had 21k on Pinterest with no problem at all. 06 May 2024 | #010: How to Handle Bad Podcast Reviews | 00:13:05
Bad reviews suck. Whether you just got one or you’re still ruminating over the one you got 4 years ago, getting a bad review on your podcast is never a fun experience. You’ve put so much time, energy, and money into this podcast and now someone who listened to 3 minutes of 1 episode is giving you a 2 star review because “your voice is unbearable and there’s too many ads”. Over the years I’ve had more than my share of bad reviews, trolls, bots, haters and downright rude people commenting on my podcasts. This episode is about bad podcast reviews: how to deal with them, what you can learn and finding peace in the truth not everyone will like your podcast. 11 Nov 2024 | #037: How Podcasts Won the 2024 Presidential Election | 00:17:04
This isn't a political episode - it's an episode about politics. In the 2024 United States Presidential Election a powerful campaigning tool was unleashed on voters and pundits alike: podcasts. 🤭 In the age of 15-second videos it might be hard to believe that 3 hour podcasts and other multi-hour media shaped this election, but it did. In this episode we’re going to dissect the use of podcasts by both candidates, talk about what worked, what didn’t, and how we can use the lessons of both campaigns to grow our own podcasts and shape our brands through podcasting. Please Note: I did my best to provide this information in as unbiased and fair a way possible, not only am I a volunteer election worker, but I’m someone that believes in the will of the American people, and the privilege of democracy. This episode was not an attempt to be political or make a political statement, just the observations of a podcaster trying their best to make sense of politics and the business of campaigning. 😀 📌 Work with Me 1:1 for Podcast Coaching and Development: 📌 Shop My Podcast Template Store: 👋🏽 Let's connect! 23 Dec 2024 | #043: My Most Listened to Podcasts of 2024 | 00:17:02
One of my favorite parts of working in podcasting and being a podcaster is hearing people’s podcast suggestions and learning about new podcasts. Is there anything better than finding an amazing podcast with hundreds of episodes to completely obsess over and listen to day and night and ask every person you see if they’ve listened to it? I don’t think so.

When I think about the most impactful and accessible ways for podcasters to make money from podcasting, especially within the first year, it’s having a digital product. In this episode we’ll work through these two specific questions: what kind of digital product will you create? (What could that look like for you and your podcast?) Then how will you sell it? (How can you take this idea and actually turn it into a product your audience wants to buy?) 👋🏼 Want to sell a digital product but you don't know what to make? 📌 Work with Me 1:1 for Podcast Coaching and Development: 👩🏻💻 Shop My Podcast Template Store: 👋🏽 Let's connect! 17 Feb 2025 | #051: PodSchool: Pinterest for Podcasters | 00:17:16
Last year I had over 500,000 viewers without a dollar in paid promotion from one social media - Pinterest. After Google, Pinterest brings the most traffic to my website and podcast episodes, with the average visitor spending about 23 minutes looking at past episodes. In this episode we’ll talk about why Pinterest is the best place to grow your podcast audience, how to properly market your podcast on Pinterest, and what you can do to incorporate Pinterest into your podcast workflow without feeling overwhelmed. Why does Pinterest work? I think a lot of people think about Pinterest as the place where you plan a wedding, or save ideas for remodeling your kitchen, but the reality is pinterest has 553 million monthly active users and reaches 40% of US households with an annual income over $150K. I don’t know about you, but as a business owner, who uses their podcast to grow their business, those are the kind of stats I want to hear.
