27 Jun 2023 | OSMinterview! Marin M. Miller @ MTAC Blackjack | 00:24:04
The real Easter Miracle that was performed at MTAC this year was that we were able to land a last-minute chance to chat with Marin M. Miller! We’ve had them on the show a few times, but it’s always good to catch up. They have only grown yet even more prestigious since those bygone days, for example now being the voice of Nimbus in Destiny 2: Lightfall! That said, this interview is more than about that. But we do get to that. It’s a real journey, and one you should listen to. OSMnotesWe want to thank Marin once again for taking the time to chat with us! And you can find all the places where they are by checking out them online at:
And as always, feel free to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! Oh, and if you still use Spotify, go ahead and get on that mobile device and throw us some five stars there too. Tell your friends! As well, just like we mentioned when we do the OSMplugs, you can also join the Discord and support us on Patreon! PS If you have ever wanted some OSMmerch, feel free to check out our TeePublic page! OSMnotesSo while we've been getting this episode ready to publish, it turns out Babylon 5 is getting a somewhat of a remastering? Frankly, any extra work to bring Babylon 5 back in any way is great. But that's something that happened in the past, and something that is now in the year 2021! This post is supposed to be about 2020! ... Ignore that by and large 2020 is not a year that anyone wants to be well remembered. Except for the stuff that in the Time Cues, anyway!
Next week, we'll wrap up the 2020 OSMawards with an episode all about Video Games. See you then!

This is a great idea and we're glad everyone is on board for it. Also, there are Moogle Tomes of Verity to get and a Moonfire Faire to enjoy. Hop to it y'all (because you know, jumping puzzles and all)! Spoiler Levels: The first hour or so it's pretty spoiler free. However, after that? NOPE it's all spoilers for Endwalker so make sure to have at least wrapped up the 6.0 MSQ before continuing on.

05 Mar 2024 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 21: The Other Half of Growing Light, Patch 6.55! | 01:20:33
Hello Adventurers! Now that we are solidly in the true “Wait Till Dawntrail” part of our Final Fantasy XIV life cycle, we thought it was best to look back to what we just got to play through. And that is Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.55: Growing Light – Part 2! Not only did we get our true onramp storyline-wise leading into the upcoming expansion, but we also got a bunch of capstones to a lot of side content. From Hildebrand blasting off again, to seeing how our allied tribe quests sorted out, we are talking about it all. Yes, even the part about the cheese. Spoiler Levels: Very Hot, like Spicy Stellar Soup hot! This is a very hot and savory episode. We namedrop Endwalker Extremes from the get-go, we talk about stuff that happened in Stormblood, and how everything is leading into Dawntrail. This is for those that are either very current players, or really don’t care about spoilers. OSMnotesHope you all enjoyed the episode! Here’s a couple of useful links based off some of the things we talked about in this episode:

16 Apr 2025 | OSMcast! Show #199: Streets of Fire | 01:18:49
Another time, another place. That time? 1984. That place? The movies! Where a rock & roll fable was born, yet no one watched it at the time. In America, anyway. In Japan, someone saw it. A few someones. A few someones, that would go on to make some of the coolest anime and video games around. Now, in 2025? It’s the perfect time to go back to that another time, and another place. To go back to the 1984 cinematic cult classic, that is the theatrical film Streets of Fire. Or at least we did. You should too! OSMnotesSadly right now there is no easy to way to just find a handy dandy streaming service to watch Streets of Fire, but it’s around to buy digitally…or even physically!
Plus, Time Cues:

![]() We're back from Momocon, and here to serve you with one of many interviews we got take part in during the con! In this episode, we got the chance to speak with Monica Rial. You may know her best as Bulma from Dragon Ball and the letters that come after, but's she done a ton voices throughout the years. So many, her own website even says Hey, check out ANN for a really good list. That said, you should totally check her out on Twitter!
17 Jan 2024 | OSMcast! Show #191: The OSMawards! 2023 Edipyon – Video Games | 01:23:31
It’s a brand-new year, and we’re kicking of 2024 with a look back on 2023. In video games. If you want other media mediums, sorry but you’ll have to settle this time. Because aside from a tabletop game in Dylan’s list, that’s all we got this time. I’m sure anime and other things will be talked about in future episodes. Just not this one. But this one? This one’s for the Gamers™. Protip: Also, this episode is barely edited. And I do mean barely! OSMnotesHope you enjoyed this episode! If you were expecting Time Cues, sorry! Like mentioned previously, this episode was only barely edited so we could get it out in a remotely timely manner. Huh, what’s that? Something about how we are supposed to have an Anime Secret Santa episode or two out before Christmas? So why are we worried about being timely? Weird. Must be hearing things. Anyway, here are everyone’s personal top games as you follow along: Basil
Kevin
Dylan
Umi/Doug
John

26 Jun 2024 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 24: The Final Days... Before Dawntrail, Anyway! | 01:27:36
Hello Adventurers! Well, we are finally here! Kinda. Not quite. We are now just days, days before the latest Final Fantasy XIV expansion: Dawntrail! The servers are down, the patch is up for download, and Square Enix is already asking folks to not spoil stuff. So we’re not gonna! Because this is all pre-Dawntrail stuff. The latest Letter from the Producer LIVE, our muses, our crackpot theories, all you need to keep that Dawntrail hype alive for a couple more days! And then we’re in it! So go forth, listen, and enjoy. Spoiler Levels: Baked Eggplant! Now, you would think that Baked Eggplant wouldn’t be all that spicy. You’d think. But this is a potent DPS-rich meal! So perhaps this isn’t an episode spoiler filled per se, but we would recommend that you listen to this episode after you are current playing right before Dawntrail. And then listen right before you start Dawntrail! OSMnotesSo after you have listened to this episode, some other things to help while away the time!
But until then, how about some Time Cues:
Music used in this episode: “The Carbuncle Chronicle Theme” composed DJ Inubito and arranged by Anna, “Miracle Works” from the Sanctuary’s Heart Chill Arrangement Album, “Unwound (Qitana Ravel)[Chiptune Remix]” by EzeDuzzIt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRBYECQ4tFI,”Equilibrium” from Pulse: FINAL FANTASY XIV Remix Album, “On Blade’s Edge” from Endwalker We also have YouTube Channels now! 09 Mar 2021 | OSMcast?! Show #173: Dragon Quest: Your Story | 01:32:15
It may not seem like it, but this is a podcast about hype and expectations. About how one can get so excited for something, then be utterly betrayed by it. But also how, upon a second viewing, one can then feel much better about the thing. But still feel betrayed! Yet, before the terrible betrayal, there is still a whole lot to enjoy about the thing. This thing is an anime CG movie called Dragon Quest: Your Story. Created by the animation studio Shirogumi, and directed and kinda written by Takashi Yamazaki. We say kinda, as it's very much based on the story of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. But not... entirely. OSMnotesSo yeah, Dragon Quest: Your Story sure is a movie and you can watch it on Netflix. And you should! ... Mostly. Probably! And once you do, let us know what you thought of it over at our Discord! As well as any of the other things we talked about, which are listed in our Time Cues:

24 Jul 2023 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 14: FanFest Hype! & 7.0 Predictions | 01:42:24
Hello Adventurers! Saddle up your chocobos folks, because we are heading to Las Vegas! Some of us figuratively, some of us literally. This upcoming weekend (July 28 & 29th, 2023) is the first of the set of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festivals. Which means fun is to be had, Keynotes and Live Letters to watch, and a new expansion to be announced! So, Basil, Anna, and special guest Tobias from Third Impact Anime and A Grand Line Reborn got together to talk about what one can expect to do at FanFest, what to see, and then get into all the ideas we have they could announce for 7.0. Spoiler Levels: Highish! Look, you are best served by playing through 6.45 since we are talking about everything that could possibly happen after that. You’ll want those context clues intact. We are somewhat vague on details about what’s been happening, but I wouldn’t trust us either. Don’t worry, this episode will still be here when you’re done. OSMnotesIf you can’t make to FanFest in person (we really, really lucked out in being able to go), worry not! They are streaming almost all the most important parts as they happen. Here are the links you’ll need.

19 May 2015 | OSMcast! Steven Universe, Season One 5-18-2015 | 02:24:52
Sometimes, you just gotta talk about cartoons. And in this latest, greatest episode of the OSMcast, we do just that! This is the episode where we talk about Rebecca Sugar's and Cartoon Network's Steven Universe. It's a show about a boy and his three awesome magical moms. Or aunts. Or, something. It's pretty great. We also remissness about that MMO we are always playing, as well as MTAC (next year they're going 16-bit!), video games, and some silly piece of cloth that Doug adores but will never let anyone ever see. Ever. OSMnotesWow! Honestly we had no clue it's been so long since we did a normal, everyday podcast about a thing we thought was awesome. Thankfully, Steven Universe is pretty amazing, so that works. In other news, Basil was recently on an episode of GME Anime Fun Time, talking about some Redline. It was pretty fun, as Redline is incredible fun and very easy to talk about.Speaking of talking and things that are fun, we'll be at Momocon! Well, Basil and Kevin shall be. Not only that, but we'll be present a slew of panels. A slew! Like... four or five of them. Enough we may just have a post just about that itself. Basil will have to work on that. Also, we have switched hosting! The OSMcast is now powered by simplecast.fm. What this means is that in May/June we will be switching RSS feeds! So if you would like to switch your RSS now, that might make things easier for the future! But until then, have some Time Cues:

28 Jul 2020 | OSMcast! Show #162: NieR: Automata | 01:27:03
When in doubt, sleep in and have androids do the work. Especially if humanity is is threated by extinction via machines sent for our doom by space aliens. At least that seems to be the case for our latest episode! We are talking about Yoko Taro's NieR: Automata, developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. We also talk about some other classic OSMcast topics like TV shows from Norway, manga, and Pokémon! And at the end, feelings. OSMnotesHope everyone enjoyed the episode! We also just want to take a moment and point out that A.) Our wonderful editor Anna is very good and she deserves all the praise one can give. B.) Basil really should make a list of things to say at the end so he never forgets that. C.) That the actual sequel to NieR: Automata is happening in Final Fantasy XIV and somehow we for got to mention that in this episode! Thankfully, we have a whole FFXIV podcast now we can mention that for next time...

It's the latest in the Itinerant Moogle series, where you can run old content, and get cool loot.
26 Aug 2020 | OSMquest! Be Prepared: A Weekend at Camp Oostanaula, Part Two | 00:58:39
When we last left our adventuring trademark non-descript scouts at Camp Oostanaula, they were goofing off in a cave, and found a door that they shouldn't have. Where will they go, and what terrors will they unlock, and how will they deal with them? Come back in time with us as well play Be Prepared, by Grant Howitt. One thing is for sure, you will never predict the twists and turns that happen in this episode of the OSMquest!
08 Oct 2018 | OSMinterview! Denmo Mcstronghuge @ Hamacon 9 | 00:26:36
![]() Why hello there! We're glad you could make it! Because we had the chance to sit down with Denmo Mcstronghuge and chat a little bit in June during Hamacon 9. Denmo is a YouTube/Twitter/Twitch sensation that makes with the Final Fantasy XIV funnies and jokes. You may even find him scampering across Eorzea as his buddy Mr Face. Sometimes he even plays other video games! You should also make sure to listen all the way to the end. You'll be glad you did! Protip: We were/are trying to play around with a new travel mic and the settings somehow got jumbled. So you make need to raise the volume on it here and there.
27 Apr 2020 | OSMcast! Show #158: Chihayafuru 3 | 01:18:21
When I listen up at We never thought we would have the excuse to talk about the anime Chihayafuru again, but here we are! Based off the manga by Yuki Suetsugu, we are talking about the third season of Chihayafuru, animated by studio Madhouse, directed by Morio Asaka. Joining Basil this time is once again Jess from Momocon, as well as first time guest Kory from the Taiiku and Manga In Your Ears podcasts! OSMnotesGet some Chihayafuru in your life! Streaming all of anime? It's on Crunchyroll! And if you want to order the first two seasons of anime on disc, Sentai Filmworks has got you covered. Oh, would you like the manga? Kodansha has got that going on! Thank you Jess and Kory for coming on! Please do check out the Taiiku and Manga In Your Ears podcasts if you haven't yet, they are swell. And while you cannot check out Momocon in person this year, you can check them out online! On Thursdays and Saturdays for the next few weeks from 7pm to 10pm EST via their Twitch channel, they’ll be playing some of the best moments from past Momocons. And maybe even some cool newer stuff soon as well! Oh, and buy some sweet Momocon swag, while you still can! Now how about some Time Cues:

21 Jun 2022 | OSMcast! Show #185: Culver’s, CurderBurgers & Custard | 01:07:11
It began as an April Fool's joke. On October 15th however, Culver's decided to make their joke a reality. That day? October 15th, 2021: National Cheese Curd Day. The joke? The CurderBurger: a Deluxe ButterBurger® topped with a crown of golden fried cheese. Made up of a blend of yellow and white cheddar Cheese Curds all surrounded by crispy seasoned breadcrumbs, the cheese crown offers a warm, buttery crunch and gooey cheddar in every bite. Also? We were there. And we podcasted about it. Oh, and about their custard, but that's more of a year-round sort of thing. Then we forgot to edit and post that podcast for months. But, just like Culver's, we finally made it happen. Months later. Enjoy! OSMnotesSo hey! How about then Culver's? Still good stuff. More good stuff? More OSMcasts in the future! Including a new bonus thing for Patreons? Possibly. But until then, Time Cues:

28 Dec 2022 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 12: The Eorzean Seasonal Event Primer | 01:30:23
Hello Adventurers! As we leave the Year of Our Yoshi-p 2022 and enter into 2023, now is the perfect time to dig into some seasonal events! Final Fantasy XIV is packed with them throughout the year, and we are chatting about them all. Yes, even Hatching-tide! From Heavensturn to Starlight Celebration we talk about the basics, when they usually are, where the quests start, some of the backstory behind the events, and what are the NPCs you tend to interact with. We also reminisce about our times with them. Plus, the current events that are going on: like the current Starlight Celebration, the latest Moogle Tomestone Hunt, and even the very quickly upcoming Heavensturn! And just how do we feel about Pa-Paya? Spoiler Levels: Incredibly low! I mean, I guess you need to be at least level 15, and have unlocked all three initial city-states of the Eorzean Alliance. But chances are, if you are listening to this episode, you have at least gotten that far! Probably. And as always, feel free to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! 03 Apr 2024 | OSMcast! Show #192: The Great Anime Dragon Draft! @ MTAC Dueling Dragons | 00:41:32
We just got back from MTAC Dueling Dragons in Nashville, Tennessee and there we decided to try something different while we were there: A live panel! Look, all of the other podcasts are doing it, so we decided to jump off a bridge too. But don’t worry, we jumped onto some dragons. Some, theoretically, anime dragons. One could even say we drafted these dragons. Into a dragon draft. Look, it’s all right there in the episode title, really. Protip: This episode was recorded live from the panel at the con. The audio is decently listenable though! Kinda. OSMnotesDid you like the episode? If you did and were there, or liked the audio version… Let MTAC know! Here is a link to their survey for this year: https://forms.gle/47TwTCkCNZGJPyU86 Also, it probably would be a good idea to post some images of the various dragons from the panel! Also… One Piece? Yeah, let’s go ahead and drop those here: ![]() We also have YouTube Channels now! Both for OSMcast proper and The Carbuncle Chronicle! Please subscribe, hit the bell, and share amongst your friends. 14 Sep 2021 | OSMinterview! Deneen Melody on 9/13/2021 | 00:50:17
So there you are, chillin' on the roof of the school, as you do. Just going about your day, getting the latest instalment of the The OSM of Evangelion series prepped for release. Then, out of the blue, comes in something just incredibly unexpected yet entirely welcomed. Just right on top of you. That was John yesterday with a fresh OSMinterview in virtual hand. He got the chance to talk with just the delightful Deneen Melody, who you may know now as the voice of Mari Illustrious-Makinami from the Amazon Prime dubs of the Rebuild of Evangelion films. But can also hear her as Zoé Lee aka Vesperia* in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, May in Pokémon Masters EX, and in all sorts of things! (Does contain Evangelion 1.0+3.0 Thrice Upon Some Spoilers) *Ok so maybe not that Vesperia. But as far as we can tell, Deneen Melody is pretty magical and is also a legit faerie... So maybe she is actually that Vesperia, too? OSMnotesWe want to thank Deneen Melody once again for taking the time to chat with us! And heartily and emphatically encourage you to check out her Twitter and website.
01 Oct 2018 | OSMcast! Show #141: Aggretsuko | 00:58:36
Same show, new podcast, and a slightly different way to title them! So let's get to the whole point here. We have an episode of the OSMcast! right here, for you, about Aggretsuko! That wonderful rocking red panda pal from our friends at Sanrio. The show is on Netflix, made by the studio Fanworks, and directed by Rarecho. We also talk about other things! Which you can find out about by listening to the episode! Or check the Time Cues, but that's not nearly as much fun! OSMnotes! Hope you like Netflix! Chances are, even if you don't, you have Netflix anyway. So go hit up some Aggretsuko, why don'tcha! Oh, here is that link to the Guardian article we talked about during the show! But first, Time Cues:

06 Feb 2024 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 20: The 2024 Tokyo FanFest Announcements! | 01:28:44
Hello Adventurers! Welcome to the Year of Our Yoshi-p Twenty Twenty Four. It's going to be an exciting year, this 2024! Not only it's the Lunar Year of the Dragon, it's ALSO the year of the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion: Dawntrail! And earlier in January we got a whole bunch of announcements made at the 2024 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, Japan. From the final CG teaser trailer, to Pictomancer, to hrothgals lion ladies, and even [REDACATED], if it was in the keynote, we are here to talk into microphones about them. Spoiler Levels: Hot! We may say it's medium to hot in the episode, but let's be honest. If you don't care all that much about spoilers, they are medium. If you do care, they are hot. Maybe not Blazin' Knock Your Butt Off... But you'll probably will want to wrap up the latest stuff in Endwalker before you hit play. OSMnotesThanks to Tobias for continuing to pitch hit edit the podcast for Anna, it has been a life saver. Since we almost just go in order of the keynote, we don't really have Time Cues this time. Just kick back, put the podcast on, and go grind some tomes. Tobis did do, however, is that he gave use what music is used in the episode. Which are The Carbuncle Chronicle Theme by Anna and DJ Inubito, "Battle on the Big Bridge" by The Black Mages, "Return to Oblivion (Scions & Sinners) by The Primals, "And Love You Shall Find" FFXIV Shadowbringers, and "Heartless (Chiptune)" by TESTS04. 07 Apr 2020 | OSMcast! Show #157: Questions from Listeners Like You, COVID-19 Edition | 01:03:13
WELP. This has sure been a thing. You see, the OSMcast has always been a "folks in person in front of a microphone" kind of podcast. With world events being what they are, that wasn't gonna fly anymore. So we decided to try something new. Recording via the Internet. Which is very exciting! So, we tested our recording with asking, receiving, and now answering questions from Listeners Like You! As well as some Moments of OSM. Hope you all enjoy! OSMnotesWe also want to give big props to our wondrous comrades in arms, Third Impact Anime! Not only are they an awesome podcast and blog in their own right, but they also host an outstanding Discord! Which everyone should join and talk anime and video games and other things with us. Also whenever Denpa puts out a book, just buy it! And as always, after the OSMnotes, are some Time Cues:

We also talk about The Rising 2020 event happening right now, until September 17th. And we wrap up with remembering and chatting about some good, good yo-kai grinding. And we should have things coming, as we have recorded a whole new episode last week, and have some interviews from MTAC. But until then, show some time cues~

28 Jan 2025 | OSMcast! Show #196: Appare-Ranman! | 01:36:02
It’s now the year 2025, so what better way to kick off a new year… Than to release an episode that we meant to record and release in 2023! If it helps, it’s about an anime that came out in 2020 that not enough people watched at the time. Including us! But we have now rectified that problem. As we have watched it, enjoyed it, and now are releasing a podcast it all about so you can hopefully enjoy it too! OSMnotesLike we mentioned on the podcast you can both watch the anime on Crunchyroll, as well buy it on Blu-ray (Amazon | Crunchyroll Store)! And without futher ado, have some Time Cues:

13 May 2024 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 23: Ten Years of Playing Final Fantasy XIV, Part 1 | 01:34:06
Hello Adventurers! While last year was the 10 Year Anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, this year is our 10 Year Anniversary of playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! So, we thought it would be nice to look back at those halcyon days of times long ago. Specifically, ten years ago. And to join us down this trip on memory lane, we are joined by the fellows Chille and Paul of Moogle Go Round Radio! MGR is a FFXIV podcast and stream where they, if you can believe it, talk about Final Fantasy XIV. They also just recently celebrated their own 8th Anniversary of existence! You can trust us when we say they were the perfect pair to chat with us about how TP used to be real and could hurt you. Spoiler Levels: La Noscean Toast! This is not an especially spoiler-filled episode, unless you have never played Final Fantasy XIV at all ever. In which case, have you heard about the free trial? And then come back to us after you finish up with ARR. Otherwise: Enjoy this delicious episode that has been soaked mixture of buffalo milk and eggs, and then fried in creamy butter. A specialty at the Drowning Wench in Limsa Lominsa! OSMnotesOnce again big thanks to Paul and Chille for chatting with us! And as you may have noticed, this is a Part 1! Because we had planned to talk about the expansions leading up to Dawntrail, but we only got as far as A Realm Reborn. Guess we’ll have to schedule a Part 2 at some point! But until then, how about some Time Cues:

05 Sep 2023 | OSMinterview! Melissa Sternenberg on 8/21/2023 | 00:28:15
So previously we Aimed for the Top with interviewing the voice of Noriko, but this time we are interviewing the voice of Kazumi Amano in Gunbuster: Melissa Sternenberg! Where she outs herself as a huge nerd. Which is good, because this is kind of the podcast for that sort of thing. We chat about LARPing, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, 90s anime, all sorts of things. Like, what makes a great dub? Also, a great dub: Gunbuster. And as one would expect, the critically acclaimed MMPRPG Final Fantasy XIV. OSMnotesWe want to thank Melissa once again for taking the time to chat with us! And you can find all the places where Melissa is by checking out her online at:

07 Jan 2019 | OSMcast! Show #145: Moments of TN OSM (HamaMini 2018) | 00:50:25
Welcome to 2019, everybody! We are just so glad you could make it. In honor of such an auspicious occasion, we have an episode we recorded back in November of 2018! It's actually a whole new format! Kinda. Since our uh, "acquisition" of the Chainsaw Buffet Podcast a short while ago, I have these amazing guys on occasion to gab with. So we decided that whenever we can pin them down (usually at cons), we will! And we did. So here is an episode with mostly the TN Crew! It's all very exciting. OSMnotes!Time Cues? Time Cues!

17 Jun 2020 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 4: The Dungeons of A Realm Reborn (Part 1) | 01:02:07
Hello Adventurers! With Patch 5.3 still very much something on the horizon we decided dig way, way back: To the original relaunch of the game. Patch 2.0, or as we tend to call it now, ARR for A Realm Reborn! And from our digging, we found dungeons! A bunch of them! So for this issue of the Carbuncle Chronicle, we are tackling the first set of dungeons introduced in Patch 2.0. From Sastasha all the way to Amdapor Keep.
30 Mar 2021 | OSMquest! Kawaii Caper: The Search for the Cold-Steel Sorcerer’s Swag, Part 1 | 00:56:03
So as 2021 keeps rolling and as vaccinations seem more like actual things and not just dreams, we decided to look back to the times when anime cons were still a thing. But with a twist! For our new OSMquest mini-series we are playing Kawaii Caper by Ettin64, as a hack of Grant Howitt's Honey Heist. It is the mid 2000’s in the beforetimes when anime conventions are still a thing and not a way to exacerbate a deadly public health crisis. CRONCH, the local anime convention in your mid-sized southern town is in its third year, and has unexpectedly risen to regional prominence. And with that prominence comes sweet, sweet swag. It would be such a shame if something... or someone... would happen to it. (Spoilers: We are those someones.)

25 Mar 2019 | OSMcast! Show #148: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power | 00:52:55
So this episode is more of a KEVINcast, really. But that's OK, because we are talking about one of his favorite shows from last year! And that show is the revival of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, developed by Noelle Stevenson and produced by DreamWorks Animation Television and Netflix. But don't worry, we have some manga talk, video game chatter, and even about how good dogs! Spoiler alert, dogs are very good. OSMnotes Watch She-Ra and the Princesses of Power! Its good! But in the meantime, have some Time Cues:

13 May 2019 | OSMcast! Show #150: Moments of TN OSM (MTAC Lunar) | 00:28:22
![]() So as you may have noticed, we were at a con recently. That con being MTAC Lunar, a fine lead in to next years already better MTAC Score. Because, you know... Sports anime theme. But as you may now realize, a fresh new con trip now can sometimes include a fresh new episode from our new format, Moments of TN OSM. That's right, we got the Tennessee crew in to talk about all... sorts... of... things. Look, just skip down to the Time Cues. OSMnotesHere are said Time Cues (I was told by our editor that these must not be edited in any way, so they are not... mostly):
Special Shout Out To Co-Audio Producer on all of the MTAC 2019 Episodes: Mike! @ViNull
26 May 2020 | OSMcast! Show #160: Community | 01:22:21
Remember back in the day, when you could throw a bunch of people into the same space together? Just bunch a people all grouped up into rooms, to be able to get some education? Yeah, it was a fairy tale then too. But maybe, just maybe, if you went to Greendale Community College you could learn a lesson. About life. Or, at least how TV shows work. This is the OSMcast! episode where we talk about the TV show Community, created by Dan Harmon. OSMnotesFirst things first, congrats to John and Mike for finally getting Twitch Affiliate for TheseAreVideoGames! Secondly, sure you should probably watch Community on Netflix, so they'll spend Netflix money on the hopefully eventual Community movie! Thirdly, MomoConline just wrapped up! I hope everyone enjoyed the virtual con experience. If you want to go back in time to relive those virtual memories, check out Momocon's YouTube page! We know that they are uploading panels from the weekend, which include some of ours! At least, until the copyright faeries take them away...

18 Mar 2025 | OSMcast! Show #198: Brave Bang Bravern! | 01:28:16
Giant robots… What a concept! Who would have thought? Well, sure, lots of people have. In fact, we have talked about those great big ol’ hunks of metal in animation a few times on this podcast before! Now? This time is no different. Okay, maybe a little bit different. But that’s just the kind of show that Brave Bang Bravern! is. Different. Or maybe… Perhaps not so much? In any case, it sure was a show directed by the great Masami Obari and animated by the fine folks over at CygamesPictures. We also dig into the video games Suikoden I & 2 HD Remaster, the new Shonen Jump manga Star of Beethoven, and YouTube guy Mugiwara No Goofy. OSMnotesBrave Bang Bravern! is one helluva show, and you should go watch it!
Plus, Time Cues:

![]() As we continue the adventures of SS Momocon 2019, here is an interview we got to take part in with Zach Callison! He is probably best known giving the voice to a wonderful kid we know as Steven Universe. It's a show we kinda like. Enjoy!
20 Jul 2021 | OSMcast! Show #177: ODDTAXI | 01:57:39
Every once in a while, a show will come out of nowhere. And just, I dunno, slap you upside the head with it's goodness? But that slap, it's not always so fast. Sometimes, you get that slow slap. But when that slap hurts, it hurts so good. That's ODDTAXI. Or Odd Taxi, which is an easier way to read it. It's an anime that's a gritty noir about a taxi driver and the people he takes places. The driver, is also a walrus. The show is about a lot of things. Oddly enough, so is this podcast! OSMnotesFirst, here's a few things that we talked about in reference to ODDTAXI in the podcast!
Second, in case you thought we were kidding about letting you pick what Kevin eats via the Patreon? Oh don't worry, we weren't! You can make that happen RIGHT NOW! (Or well, three months from now if you start donating today...) And also don't forget to join our Discord, and see what food the rest of us are eating! (Or well. the food we post about...)

Ever think that maybe the world would be a better place if you just blew some daggum Mako Reactors? Well, Barret Wallace did and maybe he was on the right track. In fact he was right in 1997, and he was right today too. And now you can live that Barret Wallace life in full glorious HD thanks to the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Which by the by, is the what our new episode is all about! All two hours of it. Well, most of it, anyway! OSMnotesOK, well we all can't be cool like Barret and blow up Mako Reactors to save the planet. But we can all go to https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ and find out other ways to help. And now, Time Cues:

Just time for the holidays, we here at the OSMcast have a couple of presents for you! First up, a brand new OSMinterview! This time, John chats it up with Kira Vincent-Davis. She has done a bunch of roles over the years, like Lucy/Nyu in Elfen Lied, or Ayumu Kasuga in Azumanga Daioh, or hey maybe Najica Hiiragi in Najica Blitz Tactics. Accidentally continuing on a spooky-ish track*, we are gathered tonight to release a podcast about demons! And slayers! Of, well, demons! It's an anime and manga called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The manga is by Koyoharu Gotouge, with the anime adaption by Ufotable. *Clearly you can tell by how echo-y it is. Because it's spooky, not because it was much a more open room this time or anything... OSMnotesAs of this recording, the anime is out there streaming courtesy of Aniplex. So you can find it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu. The manga is released by Viz, and they can be bought via volumes either physically or digitally. Or, you can stream the volumes on your electronic device via their Shonen Jump Plus app. But while you are buffering, have some Time Cues:
We're also going to be at AWA! Well Basil, Anna, and Dylan are. We've got the run down on the panels over here at itsbasiltime dot coms. Hope to see you there! 01 Jun 2022 | OSMinterview! Bryce Papenbrook & Cherami Leigh @ MTAC Score! | 00:18:47
We are back with an extra packed MTAC Score OSMinterview! This time we have not one, but TWO amazing VAs for your listening enjoyment. Bryce Papenbrook AND Cherami Leigh! Bryce Papenbrook is best known for his portrayals of Kirito in Sword Art Online, Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, Inosuke Hashibira in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist, and as Cat Noir in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Also he literally knows how to throw down, with like 4 different black belts and then some. But with a resume no less impressive, Cherami Leigh has been in over 200 different voice roles in both animated works and video games. Roles like Sailor Venus in the Viz Media dub of Sailor Moon, Kazari Uiharu in A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series, Asuna Yuuki in Sword Art Online, Lucy Heartfilia in Fairy Tail, Makoto Niijima in Persona 5, and the Female V in Cyberpunk 2077 for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Performer in a Leading Role. OSMnotesWe wanted to thank MTAC, Cherami, and Bryce for the chance to chat! If you are interested in following these folks you can find them in a whole bunch of places. For example: Bryce Papenbrook

24 Sep 2019 | OSMquest! Playing Honey Heist with Micah & Ayu @ Hamacon 10 | 01:08:00
OK, so what do you do when you have some of your favorite people to interview. In this case, Micah Solusod and Ayu Sakata. Only, you have interviewed them. Several times. In fact, last time they decided to interview you, instead. So now what do you do? Apparently, the answer is you play a tabletop RPG with them! So that's what we did. The name of the game is Honey Heist, made by Grant Howitt. It is a game where you are bear. You do crimes. We, as bears, did crimes. So many crimes. Micah was new to this, but you can't tell. You can find all of Grant's wonderful games at https://gshowitt.itch.io/.
17 Dec 2018 | OSMinterview! Erika Harlacher @ Hamacon 9 | 00:24:09
Hello world! The OSMcast is back yet again with questions and answers, but we're asking the questions here this time! That's our deal! Well, we struck a dark bargain with Erika Harlacher, at any rate. What was that dark, terrible bargain? That we could ask her questions, and she would give us answers! All in all, it was a pretty sweet deal. Now, you may wonder whom this Erika Harlacher is. Do not fret, for we shall tell you! She is an amazing voice actress, that has done many a cool Japanese animation. Things like oh I dunno... Violet Evergarden in Violet Evergarden? Or perhaps Jeanne d'Arc (Ruler) in Fate/Apocrypha would be more your speed. Netflix folks (aka everyone) would recognize her from her role of Elizabeth Liones in The Seven Deadly Sins? I particularly enjoyed her work as Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter!
29 Apr 2019 | OSMinterview! Sarah Anne Williams @ MTAC Lunar | 00:33:06
![]() Hi everybody! It's time for our second installment of the MTAC Lunar podcast trilogy! We had the opportunity to chat with the amazing Sarah Anne Williams! She has done a bunch of voice-over roles over the past eight years for both anime and video games. Some of those include Sayaka Miki in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Nonon Jakuzure in Kill la Kill, Jack Frost in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, Chihaya Mifune in Persona 5, Chiara Rocino / Lily in Valkyria Chronicles 4, and a whole bunch more! Thank you so much to both MTAC as well as Sarah for sitting down with us! It was a blast. Also thanks goes out to Charlie Grace for giving us that extra spice to liven things up!
18 Jul 2023 | OSMinterview! Kaitlyn Robrock on 6/17/2023 | 00:25:27
There are times when getting these interviews from John can be kinda wild. For example, just the other day he messages me, and the message went something like this: “Hey, I just interviewed the voice of Minnie Mouse.” Which is not something one normally hears! But today you get to listen to that interview. Which is with the wonderful Kaitlyn Robrock. Who is the current voice of Minnie Mouse from well… Disney. But that’s not all! She’s also the voice of Retsuko’s mother in the English dub of Netflix anime series Aggretsuko, Felicia Sundew in Amphibia, and also the voice of Chloé in both Fire Emblem Engage as well as Fire Emblem Heroes. So, kick back and enjoy. OSMnotesWe want to thank Kaitlyn once again for taking the time to chat with us! And you can find all the places where Kaitlyn is by checking out her online at:

And in many ways, some of the things that got us through the last year of 2020. In this particular edipyon, we'll be tackling some of our most favorite things from the various reaches of the Internet. Podcasts, YouTube Shows, some things that are both! And some things that are neither! OSMnotesSo you may have heard in the episode, that we have a discord. And it's true! We do! You can find it here. Next week, we'll be talking about Anime and TV Shows! Until then, Time Cues:

15 Oct 2019 | OSMquest! Playing The Beast with Mr Creepy Pasta @ Hamacon 10 | 00:34:57
Feeling up for something s̵̹̲̒͝p̸̥̔͂o̶̫̩͂o̸̦͋̓k̴͖̝̋̀y̷̘͌̿? Well we have the podcast for you! In the last of our Hamacon 10 podcasts, here is another OSMquest guest starring the Master of Decreepitude himself, Mr Creepy Pasta! Or is it MrCreepyPasta? Or Ḿ̷̻̳͉̞͑͝͝r̸̢͕̫̃̓̏C̴̘̀r̸̺͌̽̔e̴̤̎̍̀̎e̷͓͑̃̍p̴̝̟̽͜͝ý̶͖̬͖́́͜P̴̢͍̺̈́̾a̵̭͓̪̤̓̀š̵̖ṭ̸̄́̃a̵̯͎͌? Either way, we RPGed it up with him! Creepily. OSMnotesOh no, a cliffhanger?!? Sadly. sometimes you can't always get a full game into an interview slot. But what can you do? Invite the OSMcast and Mr Creepypasta to your next con! I dunno about the Creepmeister, but the OSMcast comes pretty cheap. The name of the game is The Beast, made by Grant Howitt. It is a game where you are monster hunter hunting the monsters. Somewhere in Eastern Europe, because that's where all the best monsters are. You can ask anyone, they will tell you this. Speaking of things you can do, you can find all of Grant’s wonderful games at https://gshowitt.itch.io/.
27 Apr 2021 | OSMcast! Show #175: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime | 01:36:54
Ever wonder what's next in life? Perhaps even in the next life? Sure, reincarnation is a possibly, but have you ever considered reincarnating into a JRPG? Chances are you have as the genre of isekai is now an anime ever-presence, and people are just dying all over the place to score some sweet levels! But if you ever had to pick only one series to follow, might we suggest the series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime? It's a light novel series by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah, but also comes in both anime and manga varieties! The anime is developed by studio Eight Bit, and the manga is illustrated by Taiki Kawakami. PS I know it's listed in the Time Cues but do not sleep on preordering Dear Brother that show is so good you don't even know. Unless you do know, and have already preordered it. OSMnotesSo if you listen to this episode, we talk about puppies. And as Puppy Fever has caught on, it also grabbed Basil and Anna quite strongly. In short, they also have a new puppy! And well... As it turns out, getting a new puppy sure can take a lot out of ya! Also, while we absolutely recommend getting vaccinated as soon as one can... Maybe don't adopt a new puppy in the same time frame. But Basil and Anna's new puppy Yda is settling in just fine now, and by this Friday the core Alabama crew will be fully vaccinated! So that's very exciting and hopefully that news will buoy you through the fact that we meant for past couple of weeks. But worry not about what comes next, for that is only Time Cues:

![]() OK so, we here at the OSMcast are not exactly a um, well. dealers in the visual medium. We deal more in the business of audio. You know, cosplay. Specially, an interview with the wonderful cosplayers Scissor Wizard Cosplay and Lula Cosplay. There were the cosplay guests for Hamacon 9, and we were very happy to chat with them about costuming. OSMnotesThank you to both Lula Cosplay as well as Scissor Wizard Cosplay for talking with us! 01 Apr 2024 | The Manderville Minute Issue XXII: "Gentleman Detective Solves Case, Again!" | 01:14:08
Hello Gentlepeople! We here at The Manderville Minute have been covering the amazing work of Manderville Family in all facets of Ul’dah life, and this time we have decided to tackle the most gentlemanly of gentlemen: Hildibrand Helidor Maximillian Manderville. He is a Manderville Man that can only do what a Manderville can, as he travels the realm as a self-titled “agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire” alongside his assistant, Nashu Mhakaracca. Now wait just a gosh darn moment… No, what do you mean this about an MMORPG called Final Fantasy XIV? No, this is an audio recording all about one of our great Thanalan heroes! Perish the thought that this could be about some mere game. Spoiler Levels: Truffles à la Manderville! This is a sweet and fluffy episode. We do talk about all sorts of the events that you can find in the various Hildibrand Adventures in Final Fantasy XIV, up to and including the events and trial in Patch 6.55. While we don’t get into too much MSQ talk… If you want to go into Hildibrand completely unsullied, this is your warning. Manderville NotesHope you all enjoyed the episode! Hi everybody! This time around we have got yet another awesome interview for you! At Hamacon 9, we had the chance to sit down with Marianne Miller, whom you may remember from our previous interview, but more likely remember her from her roles on shows like Little Witch Academia, or FLCL Alternative. Either way, enjoy! Warning of Triggers: We do go down some dark rabbit holes. Maybe all of them? certainty a bunch of them. It's an excellent listen, but be forewarned! OSMnotesThanks once again to Marianne Miller for the chance to chat! Also, welcome back everybody! With the FFXIV FanFest done, and Thanksgiving, and half the crew getting sick in between... it's been rough. And while a few of us did just get back from the 2023 NA FanFest in Las Vegas a couple of weeks back, even now only the thoughts of new level caps, two dyes, and taco cats arw what keep us going. And, or some of us, the thoughts of wearing glasses and a summoner’s horn at the same time. All of that is to say, we are very excited about the new Final Fanatsy XIV 7.0 Expansion: Dawntrail! So if you need something to take your mind off things, we have got you covered. In this Issue of the Carbuncle Chronicle we turn back to clock to where we got started with the Final Fantasy series. 05 Aug 2019 | OSMcast! Show 152: The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl with Third Impact Anime at Hamacon 10 | 00:47:58
![]() So, kids. When two podcasts like each other very much, they have a crossover episode. And when the OSMcast! and Third Impact Anime both like the works of Masaaki Yuasa and studio Science Saru? They have an episode about the movie The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl, adapted from the novel by Tomihiko Morimi. Protip: This crazy experiment was recorded live at Hamacon 10. This is also the first time we have tried such a thing, so the audio is a little weird here and there. But still pretty listenable!
17 Apr 2015 | OSMcast! Kami-Con Season 7 4-17-2015 | 01:44:47
![]() The OSMcast has returned! We have come back to to talk about all sorts of things! But primarily, Kami-Con, a fun anime con in Birmingham, Alabama. We talk about our adventures there, as well as things like Dragons and Monsters on Quests and Strikes. With a side of science and goofin' off. OSMnotesLong time, no podcast! But now we are back! And you should be seeing more episodes on a more frequent as well as more reliable schedule. That said, we have switched hosting! The OSMcast is now powered by simplecast.fm. What this means is that in May/June we will be switching RSS feeds! But until then, Time Cues!

21 Jun 2021 | OSMcast! Show #176: The OSMnews Returns Again! But This Time it’s E3 | 01:05:32
So it's 2021 and supposedly things are returning to some semblance of, what some may call, normal. However, as it turns out, normal is still a ways away. And of course we know that because of video games! For example, E3. Usually the Electronic Entertainment Expo is a ginormous in person event with crazy press conferences, announcements, and media and people on Twitch and YouTube playing all these vertical slices of games that may or may not be real. But not this year. This year it was all digital, where everyone stayed home and just watched the press conferences online like everyone else. And it became clear that not everyone decided to Bring Their "A" Game. And that's OK. Neither did we! OSMnotesSo that was E3! Kinda. In an hour or so in podcast form. If you want to talk to us about it, head over to our Discord! Or throw us a review on the Apple Podcasts with 5 stars. Or just I dunno... Donate to our Patreon? That would be cool.
06 Oct 2020 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 8: Housing in Final Fantasy XIV | 01:02:02
Hello Adventurers! With a new set of wards being added to all the Residential Districts at the launch of Patch 5.3 on October 13th, now was a great time to talk about Housing! What is Housing? What do you mean by wards and Residential Districts? We go into it, tell you all your options. Because there are more than just houses when you really look at it. We also go into how we happened into our housing options, and what we like about housing in Final Fantasy XIV... And what we don't! Plus, some of our favorite items we have used to decorate our place. To cap it off, we go into some Tips & Tricks to try and help you land that plot once the new patch hits. Good luck Warriors of Land Ownership, er, Darkness! Carbonuses! Here are some screen caps of some of our places! We are on the Leviathan server, in the Primal data center! (Here's a link to the OSMcast website for the images!)

16 Jul 2019 | OSMinterview! Keith Silverstein @ Momocon 2019 | 00:20:43
Continuing on our journey through all the interviews we took part of at Momocon 2019, here's the one with Keith Silverstein! Who is that you may ask? Well, he has done a lot! Many will know him as Torbjörn from Overwatch, or maybe Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. Just all sorts of things! But he will forever hold a special place in our hearts around this parts, as Johnny Boya from mother flippin' REDLINE.
04 Feb 2019 | OSMinterview! Yuri Lowenthal & Tara Platt @ MTAC 18th Battalion | 00:23:26
In this week's episode, we take a trip back in time, to 2018's Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, where our own John Robbins got to chat with both Yuri Lowenthal along with Tara Platt. (It was also where a certain Yuri and may have tweeted a certain awesome thing about John.) Both Yuri and Tara are super prolific Voice-Over Artists. Yuri has been in things like Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Dead or Alive, Naruto, Personas both 3 AND 4, and most recently he was the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the new Spider-Manvideo game by Insomniac. Tara was also in both Persona 3 and Naruto, along with a bevy of those things! She has been new dub of Sailor Moon, Aggretsuko, Fire Emblem: Awakening, League of Legends, and was also the voice of Yuri Watanabe in, you guessed it, Insomniac's Spider-Man.
30 Jun 2023 | OSMinterview! Amanda Miller Q&A Panel @ MTAC Blackjack | 00:55:32
So this is something new! Your friend and mine, John Robbins normally does a lot of our OSMinterviews. But this time, he got to instead moderate a Question-and-Answer panel for Amanda Miller at this year’s MTAC Blackjack. This is the audio from that panel. And chances are, you have heard the voice of Amanda Miller before! Some of her most well-known roles include Sailor Jupiter, in the Viz Media re-dub of the classic Sailor Moon series and the new Sailor Moon Crystal series, Junko Enoshima and Toko Fukawa in the Danganronpa video game series, Sully and Cherche in Fire Emblem Awakening, Takeru Aizawa in Squid Girl, and Boruto Uzumaki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. And because this was a general con Q&A panel, she gets all sorts of questions. All. Sorts. Enjoy! OSMnotesWe want to thank Amanda once again for taking the time to chat with us! And you can find all the places where Amanda is by checking out her online at:
ALSO! If you enjoyed listening in on this panel, please let us know! Here in the comments on the website or let us know on Twitter. You could let MTAC know as well! This is a brand-new thing we haven’t tried before, so feedback would be welcome. 29 Oct 2018 | OSMcast! Show #143: The Indie Video Games of Momocon 2018 | 01:10:13
![]() When we last checked into the Momocon Indie Games area when they started in 2015, we covered 18 games. Well, now it's 2018! So how many games did we check out in this year's Momocon? counts 23? GOOD LORD. Here's our takes on said 23 games, live from the archives during Momocon 2018. OSMnotesNo time for love Dr Jones, only Time Cues:

11 Jul 2023 | OSMinterview! Kiane Chula King on 5/15/2023 | 00:20:48
I dunno if you have heard, but there is a brand-new Blu-ray release of Gunbuster from Discotek. It’s out there! It’s great! And one of the great things about it, is that it features an excellent all new English dub. And the lead Noriko was portrayed as Kiane Chula King. Who, coincidentally, is also the subject of this OSMinterview! While Noriko may be one of her first big roles, it was really nice to dig in a little to find out more about her. And while I am not John, I also want a whole new interview with her all about her experiences in tabletop roleplaying. That would be, as they say, awesome. Or well… OSM. OSMnotesWe want to thank Kiane once again for taking the time to chat with us! And you can find all the places where Kiane is by checking out her online at:

Whoa what's this craziness this is not the normal OSMcast?!? Nope this is a whole new OSMcast-produced thing, we're calling Touched by a Duelist! It's a new weekly, show where we are covering the anime series Touched and Yu-Gi-Oh! This episode we are covering the Touch episode 1, "No matter what everybody says, we're twins!!" And the Yu--Gi-Oh! episode 1, The Fearsome Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
30 Nov 2020 | OSMcast! Show #166: Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence Teaser Trailer | 00:58:49
If you ever asked the question of, "Hey do you think someone can make an hour-long podcast out of a 45 second teaser trailer?" You are in luck! We here at the OSMcast! have answered your question. And the answer is "Definitely, as long as it's about Yuri!!! on Ice movie!" Thankfully the teaser trailer is for Ice Adolescence, and admittedly we also threw some Moments of OSM in there. Because if we are going to do an episode of the show, it's gonna be an actual episode! OSMnotesOK so in case you wondering, here's that teaser: https://youtu.be/8Mk4Uykq5I8Wow! It's that sure something? Can you believe we spent what, forty minutes plus on this? In our defense... Victor is pretty dang pretty, though. Also, Marriage For All Japan is a pretty great idea, and one we really hope happens. Also, we got in an episode for November! Whoo! Hopefully we can get some more episodes in before the new year! But until then, Time Cues:

Next time, we're gonna talk about a more personal topic, about our experience with Final Fantasy and MMOs in general.
09 May 2022 | OSMinterview! Xanthe Huynh @ MTAC Score! | 00:15:46
So last month, MTAC finally got the chance to rise from the depths and appear once again as a majestic ... well, convention! Ok look as well all know it's been a minute since a whole con thing as happened and it's hard getting back on this whole forced metaphor of a bicycle thing. At any rate, a fantastic time. While we were there, we had the wonderful opportunity to talk to some amazing folks. OSMnotes! We wanted to thank both MTAC and Xanthe for the chance to chat! You can also find her all sorts of the places like such as:

Have you watched the excellent Ranking of Kings? Did you catch that dub? If not, you should! Of course, you may recognize her voice as the one behind such roles as Winry Rockbell (Fullmetal Alchemist), Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club, which she also did double duty as voice direction on!), Cammy White & Decapre (Street Fighter IV & V), and like a bazillion other things. 19 Mar 2019 | OSMinterview! Richard Epcar @ Momocon 2018 | 00:19:01
So, back in 2012 (?!), Basil once told Kevin that he really needed to go to an interview with Richard Epcar. And Kevin did, and a wonderful time was had. Well, John was also there in 2012. And since he had the chance to interview Richard Epcar again, John leapt at the chance. That was at Momocon 2018, and this is that podcast. Also in case you were wondering whom Richard Epcar is, he's a lot. Of voices, I mean. He has done a bunch of them! Lately you'd recognize his vocal talents bringing to life Ansem, from the Kingdom Hearts series. There was like, three of those game? So anyway, he has also voiced Raiden from the latest Mortal Kombat series of games, Joseph Joestar from the Jojo's that everyone (rightly) loves, Batou in all the Ghosts in the Shells that matter, and just whole lot of things. There is a very high chance that he done something you love, and he may just be the reason why!
20 Oct 2020 | OSMcast! Show #164: Animal Crossing: New Horizons | 02:04:18
In March of 2020, something terrible happened. That is pretty well covered. We don't really have to get into that. But something truly special and wonderful also happened. Nintendo released the latest Animal Crossing game, subtitled New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch. Granted, this is also pretty well covered. But since it something totally awesome and rad, it is actually is covered under our purview. Therefore, please enjoy this podcast about Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Preferably on a remote island, away from all other humanity. Maybe with some cute animals as your only friends? Man, wouldn't that be the life! OSMnotesSince we recorded the episode, the October stuff has begun! You can get all sorts of spooky things, grow some pumpkins, pretty good stuff. 07 Dec 2020 | OSMcast? Show #167: Itsudatte My Santa! | 01:09:53
Not all OSMcasts, like many things, are created equal. Most OSMcasts end in am exclamation point (!). Some end in a question mark (?). Because sometimes we have to talk about things into a microphone, even if they are not awesome. And this time, it's about an anime based of a single chapter of a Ken Akamatsu joint: Itsudatte My Santa! Because it's the holidays and we already did an episode on Tokyo Godfathers. Oh, we also talked about some other things that are awesome. To try and balance things out, at least a little bit. OSMnotesSo yeah, that was sure an episode! Have some Time Cues:

17 Oct 2023 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 17: The Variant & Criterion Dungeons Primer | 01:29:30
Hello Adventures! With the advent of Dawntrail (the new expansion) on the horizon, and the current post patch cycle winding down, we thought it would be a nice time to talk about one of the new things Endwalker (the current expansion) introduced into Final Fantasy XIV: The Variant and the Criterion Dungeons. These are brand new types of battle-style content that kind does their own thing, and they’re pretty dang fun! And you can get cool stuff for doing them! But since they are optional things, maybe you haven’t done them yet? If not, let us take this chance to talk to you about why we think you should. And if you have already tried them out uh, well… listen to us anyway! You’re already here, why stop now. Spoiler Levels: Pretty Low! Ignoring that you kinda have to have cleared the main chunk of Endwalker just to get to the post-patches where these dungeons show up, we don’t really delve too deep into any spoilers talking about them. OSMnotesHave you tried the new Variant dungeons? Did you dip a toe into Criterion to see if it’s as hard (or as easy!?) as you thought it’d be? Were we the ones that finally convinced you to take the plunge, or were you already on board with the idea? Let us know in the Discord! Also:

23 Jan 2024 | OSMinterview! Neil Ross on 1/7/2024 | 00:32:59
When knowing is half the battle, your battle half for this podcast is that it’s a big ol’ humdinger. John got the chance to talk to one of the greats: Neil Ross. It’s hard to be more prolific than Neil. He was the voice of Shipwreck in the original GI Joe cartoons. The voice of Kieth in the original Voltron from 1984s. He was the voice of the Biff Tannen Museum Narrator in Back to the Future Part II. He was the voice the Green Goblin in the 1994 Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He was the voice of Mayor Domino in Final Fantasy VII Remake. OSMnotesWe want to thank Neil once again for taking the time to chat with us! 22 Dec 2023 | OSMcast? Show #190: Somehow, Itsudatte My Santa! Returned | 00:44:00
Finally, John got me. Me as in Basil (the one that writes all of these). He has finally made another true OSMcast? by returning to the Ken Akamatsu well. If you recall, we have actually done an OSMcast? on Itsudatte My Santa! before. And while I refuse to double check anything that reminds of having to watch it ever again, I do remember this: That when I said I had only watched episode one John said that was fine, episode two was worse and that we only were covering the first episode anyway. And thus, he played his trap card. Three years later, he has sprung it upon on us all. So here, have that podcast. OSMnotesSo yeah, once again, that was sure an episode! Have some Time Cues:

14 Sep 2020 | OSMquest! Be Prepared: A Weekend at Camp Oostanaula, Finale | 00:29:26
It's been a one hell of a weekend over at Camp Oostanaula! Salt lines have been broken, things have been unleashed. Our poor generic nondescript scouts are being hounded by a Terror, but for some reason no one seems to believe them! Out of escape routes, out of options. Except one: It's time to take it to the Terror itself. Come join us as we kick some tires and light some fires as we play this final installment of Be Prepared, by Grant Howitt.
01 Feb 2022 | OSMcast! Show #182: Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time | 02:32:15
Well, here it is. Three interviews, and now four episodes later, we are now at the current conclusion of the OSM of Evangelion Project. (We say current, because you never know when John will stealth drop yet another interview out of the blue!) We have talked about the original show, the End of Eva movies, the previous Rebuilds, and now this. The final Rebuild of Evangelion film, Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time. Bye bye all of Evangelion OSMcast!s (for now)! OSMnotesWhile sure maybe we mention Centaurworld was our next episode at the end, and it was the next show we recorded... Our next release should theoretically be us finally catching up with our Anime Secret Santa episode all about Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit! So until then, have some Time Cues:

02 Mar 2021 | OSMcast! Show #172: The World of OSM Returns! | 01:34:04
Plans are made. Then life happens! Plans are dashed. New plans are made. And while all that is happening, a whole lot of news happened! So we decided to talk about those things. Think of them like the friends we made along the way! We took those friends and bundled them up into a podcast. For you! Our friends, that are hopefully bundled up warm because it could be cold outside, and are listening. Perhaps the metaphor has long been lost now, but have a podcast on nerd stories this week! OSMnotesSo how did you enjoy the episode? Liked it? Hated it? Let us know! Poke us on twitter! Join the Discord! You could even comment on the post, but who even reads these things anyway? Well, if you are one of those you may would like some Time Cues:

20 Apr 2020 | OSMinterview! Deva Marie on 4/15/2020 | 00:31:09
Our boy John is back with yet another amazing interview! This time, he sits down virtually with the wondrous Deva Marie. You may recognize her voice best as the role of Flayn, from Fire Emblem: Three Houses! OSMnotesWe want to thank Deva Marie once again for taking the time to chat with us! Anna probably put it best:
And hey, we know this year is a tough time. One of the ways it's been tough is that a lot of us go to cons throughout the year, and right now there are no cons. That's a bummer! So Momocon is trying their best to keep that spirit alive through the internet. On Thursdays and Saturdays for the next few weeks from 7pm to 10pm EST via their Twitch channel, they'll be playing some of the best moments from past Momocons. And maybe even some cool newer stuff soon as well! And speaking of Momocon, next week's show is already in the bag! We'll be talking about the latest season of Chihayafuru, with Jess of Momofame and Kory from the Taiiku and Manga in Your Ears podcasts. Hope to see you back!
24 Dec 2024 | OSMcast! Show #195: Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket | 01:28:20
You know that ye ole holiday tune, The Christmas Song? You probably do, only most people would know it more as the “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” song. Well, this podcast is kinda like that. Only it’s not chestnuts roasting, but spent mobile suit artillery shells. Still on a open fire, though! That’s right, in the spirit of the season, we are talking about Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. It’s an anime OVA animated by Sunrise, directed by Fumihiko Takayama and written by Hiroyuki Yamaga. It’s a great six episode story all about the wonders of asshole children, secret giant robots, and the true spirit of Christmas. Kinda. OSMnotesHappy holidays! All of them. You celebrating a holiday this year? Hell yea, go you! We’re over here celebrating that we got a holiday episode out that’s not Itsudatte My Santa! for once. Also on the celebration docket? Time Cues:

26 Feb 2019 | OSMinterview! Josh Keaton @ Momocon 2018 | 00:22:16
This time, our interview is uh... intergalactic! And uh, spectacular! Legendary? Is that a thing? Well, the thing is that this is an interview with Josh Keaton! He has done a bunch of cool voice-over roles like Shiro in Voltron: Legendary Defender! Or Spider-Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man, or if you would rather someone more potentially villainous, Norman Osborn in Marvel's Spider-Man! And if you really wished he voiced a guy named Jack, oh hey! He was Jack Darby in Transformers: Prime.

22 Sep 2021 | OSMinterview! Amanda Winn Lee on 9/17/2021 | 00:45:10
The OSM of Evangelion just keeps on rolling on as this whole interview train continues! Before we pull into the station and start releasing the episodes on the Rebuild movies, John once again surprises us in just the best ways. This time, he sits down at the virtual table with the returning champion and all around treasure, Amanda Winn Lee. You may know her best as the voice of Rei Ayanami in both the original ADV Films dub of Neon Genesis Evangelion and the End of Evangelion, along with the Amazon Prime Video dubs of the Rebuild Movies. However, she is also the voice of Yukiko Amagi from Persona 4, Rally Vincent from Gunsmith Cats, and just all around a great mom. And finally, someone that can explain whatever the hell Delta 8 is! (Does contain Evangelion 1.0+3.0 Thrice Upon Some Spoilers) OSMnotesWe want to thank Amanda Winn Lee once again for taking the time to chat with us! We also want to say hey, if you have some donating cash for a good cause, please check out the Lady Eva Pilot Halloween Slumber Party. Amanda Winn Lee, Tiffany Grant, and Deneen Melody are getting together for an epic live stream event to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Plus if you donate $100, you get a signed poster!

01 Mar 2022 | OSMcast! Show #183: Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit | 01:43:29
It's Christmas in Febua- We mean March! Yes, that's right. You heard us. Or rather, this is our 2021 AGC Secret Santa episode. Only three months late. For us, this is pretty timely. So, what are we talking about this time? Why it's the anime Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit! It was animated by Production I.G directed by Kenji Kamiyama (back when he did awesome stuff), based on a novel series by Nahoko Uehashi. OSMnotesSpeaking of timely, this episode was recorded in January so things may not be as rosy as we hoped they would be. If you are interested in donating to help support Ukraine, Zepla on twitter has tweeted out several ways you can help. Also, today they announced that Crunchyroll gets to absorb Funimation as a treat, so if you have a Funimation Now subscription you should probably cancel that soon. But don't worry, Moribito is on HiDIVE! Which is now owned by AMC Networks. Anyway, have some Time Cues:

30 Aug 2023 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 16: The 2023 NA FFXIV FanFest in Las Vegas | 01:50:08
Hello Adventurers! So in our previous episode we talked about the big announcement from the 2023 NA FFXIV FanFest in Las Vegas: The latest FFXIV expansion, Dawntrail. But this episode is about everything else that happened at FanFest! The highs, the lows, the events, the lines. All the fun parts, and some of the not so fun parts. The terrible, terrible heat. Speaking of things that are hot off the presses, we also talk about The Rising and the latest Moogle Tomestone events. It’s a grand ole time! Spoiler Levels: Pretty Low! Since we already talked about Dawntrail, we kept the spoiler talk to as low as we could. This is about the event of FanFest itself. I guess if you don’t want spoilers as to what might happen at the EU & JP FanFest? But honestly, they are gonna be pretty different anyway. OSMnotesSome things!

02 Feb 2021 | OSMcast! Show #170: The OSMawards! 2020 Edipyon – Video Games | 01:33:22
At last! Our final and most verbose episode of the 2020 OSMawards arrives at our final destination: Video Games! Sure, some of the things we talk about have been covered in previous OSMcasts. But that's what's gonna happen when some of best games of 2020 both come out in March and April! That said really it's who brings up what that is surprising in this ultimate showdown of video game releases in the Year of Our Lord 2020. Also, Overwatch? Apparently! OSMnotesAnd so you have it! The video games that helped us get through 2020. And who knows what games we will get to in 2021! If only there was a way to find out besides the podcast... Oh right! That Discord we keep mentioning! Yeah, that might be a good way to keep tabs on us. But until next time, have some Time Cues:

OSMnotesHere, have some more info about Sequya, courtesy of the Hamacon wesbite! Rainbow Redwood is an award winning cosplayer, YouTube content creator, and seamstress. In this latest and greatest of the OSMcast, we have yet another OSMinterview! John sat down with the one and only Austin Tindle, a voice-over artist that has been in many a great anime. He was folks like Crowley Eusford (Seraph of the End), Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul), Marco Bodt (Attack on Titan), Karma Akabane (Assassination Classroom), Avilio Bruno (91 Days), and more! So stay a while and listen~ OSMnotesThank you Austin for chatting with us! If you haven't yet, check him out on Twitter! And while you're at it, check out John's Twitter, too. And speaking of Hamacon, they've got thier one day Minicon coming up in November! If you happen to see around North Alabama at the time, you should go. Next time on the OSMcast, we'll be digging into the backlog and releasing our take on all the indie games we saw this past Momocon! We'll see you next week.
23 Jun 2020 | OSMquest! Adventure Skeletons: The Journey to Villageburg | 01:06:09
Hark! What's that, you hear? The grand return of the OSMquest?! Forsooth! It IS!!! So here's the game. Sometimes, you feel like a skeleton. In a dungeon. And you get bored. So you go on a road trip. Some may call it... An adventure. Especially if you are playing the game Adventure Skeletons by Grant Howitt and Chris Taylor. Which... we were! You can find the game we played, and a whole bunch more, over at https://gshowitt.itch.io/!
13 Aug 2024 | The Carbuncle Chronicle Issue 25: The Dawntrail Travelogues | 02:42:43
Hello Adventurers! OK, we are actually finally here! It’s Dawntrail time! Now that said, it’s been a month and change since release. But this episode is a amalgamation of multiple sound bites that we all recorded when the expansion was just launched into early access. It covers the first, oh we dunno, two-thirds of the game? Right up into Zone 5. All those early moments, storytelling beats, the various dungeons and trails? Hanging out with Wut Lamat and scopin’ out Tural? As we experienced them, we set voice to microphone and recorded them for you. Enjoy. Spoiler Levels: Tender Shortcake! Layered with whipped cream and sliced nopalitender tunas, this light and fruity desert is the perfect summertime treat. Just like this episode! (Okay look. We already explained the actual spoiler levels in the paragraph above. You know what you are getting into here!) OSMnotesIn other news, we have posted on our YouTube page The Music of Final Fantasy XIV Panel that Tobias and Anna hosted at MomoCon earlier this year! It was a fun time and a great panel. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should! They did amazing. Music used in this episode are the various day and nighttime themes used in Dawntrail. While the official credits have not been published for these it’s a safe bet they were all worked on in some fashion by Masayoshi Soken, and for the nighttime themes also arranged by Keiko. We also have YouTube Channels now! Both for OSMcast proper and The Carbuncle Chronicle! Please subscribe, hit the bell, and share amongst your friends. 29 Sep 2020 | OSMcast! Show #163: Stars Align | 01:50:31
Sometimes, an anime is about a sport. Sometimes, it's about other things entirely. Sometimes, it's about other things entirely but also absolutely needs the sport in question to get to the things the anime wants to talk about. This time, that sport is Soft Tennis and this anime is called Stars Align. And it is about Soft Tennis, but not entirely. It is also a show written and directed by Kazuki Akane along with the studio Eight Bit. It is also pretty great! But you may have figured that out when we released a podcast all about it. OSMnotes!Anime News Network also had an excellent pair of interviews with the writer and director of Stars Align Kazuki Akane, that we talked about during the podcast. You can find Part One here, and Part Two here. To mix up some sports metaphors, Kim Morrissy absolutely knocked these interviews out of the park! They really showed some wonderful insights into this show. And while we may be podcasting about a show full of kids, we are definitely some old men! You can tell this by our Moments of OSMs, that are all inadvertently synced up about us yearning for our childhoods. Huh. The things you notice as you actually put together the show descriptions and Time Cues:
