Possession is something that for many of us, seems too incredible to contemplate, to outlandish to even consider or maybe to frightening to accept as real. Throuhgout the ages, such cases often become notorious and many of them have become well known yet one seems to have slipped through the cracks, the case of Elizabeth Knapp.

What makes this case all more suprising is that it was meticilously recorded by the chief witness in the case, the preacher Samuel Willard. Willard was a man who in the autumn of 1671, witnesses one of his servants, Elizabeth Knapp transform from a happy, bright and popular woman to one afflicted by possession.

The case is all the more remarkable because rather than treat Elizabeth as a danger, Willard went out of his way to deal with this case in a balanced, scientific manner, completely against everything we presume. To discuss this case and more is author M R Gorga. His latest book, Demons Among Us covers the Knapp case in great detail with many details not having seen the light of day for almost two centuries.

Welcome back to Mysteries and Monsters.   This week, we return to the world of Cryptozoology and I am delighted to be joined by two key members of the Olympic Project, David Ellis and Shane Corson, alongside filmaker Darcy Weir.   

Since I started the show, I have wanted to have someone from the Olympic Project as a guest due to the fantastic, science based research the team are working on in the Pacific North West.

As someone with a deep interest in all things Sasquatch, the Olympic Project has been the gold standard in cryptozoology for several years now.   To have Shane and David join me was a real pleasure and we discuss all things Sasquatch alongside Darcy Weir, who's latest documentary, Sasquatch Among Wildmen features Shane amongst others. 

We discuss how David, Shane and Darcy found themselves drawn into the world of Cryptozoology, the methods they use and we also listen to several audio clips kindly supplied by David for me to use in the show.

Since they exploded into the public consciousness in the late 1980s, they've been debunked, ridiculed and explained as the work of two men. Yet can two men really be responsible for every agrglyph found in the UK?

What about the ones outside of the UK? Can we ignore the witnesses and could these even be messages from extraterrestrials.   Joining me to discuss the subject is crop circle investigator Gary King,disclosure advocat Stephen Bassett and filmaker Darcy Weir.

This week, it is a warm return to Ufologist, investigator and publisher Philip Mantle to discuss his latest book, Investigating UFO's: A Young Person's Guide.   Philip has over 40 years of experience and has utilised this knowledge in his book to give anyone new to the subject a solid base of cases to work upon.

With the book being split into decades since the 1940's, it offers 3 key cases per decade.   Yet, what sets the book apart is that Philip has re-introduced some cases that had simply fallen off the radar in the world of Ufology in favour of the usual cases we here about over and over again.   

As such, we discuss 4 of the cases in the book, two of which are personal favourites, the incredible experience of the Knowles family incident that occurred on a drive across the Naribor plain in Australia in 1988 and the Reverend William Gill's frankly remarkable case from Papua New Guinea in the late 1950s.   We also look at the case of Maurice Masse and his missing lavender and the terrifying experience of Mary Morrison in Scotland from 1996.

It's a warm welcome back to British Cryptozoologist Richard Freeman! On this episode, we dive in to the world of giant animals across the world that have been reported by numerous witnesses. 

We look at cases involving sightings of giant Sharks, giant Lizards, Saltwater Crocodiles, Alligators, Boa Constrictors, Rock Pythons and Anaconda's going back centuries. It seems that plenty of people have seen enormous creatures still hiding out in the corners of the world. 

We look at the legendary Gustave, the Nile crocodile who lives in Burundi and one of the most notorious maneaters in the world. Alleged to have killed at least 300, Gustave's reputation is known the world over. 

We examine the capture of Lolong and the enigmatic Potol, known as the king of the crocodiles as well as Komodo Dragons and monsterous lizards in the Pacific We travel the globe looking for giants from several countries, the stories, the legends and wonder if there are still such monsters to be discovered when the evidence suggests that there is a real possiblility there are still wonders to discover.

We'll try to not give you nightmares but we can't promise you'll sleep well after this conversation.

This week I am delighted by joined by authors and investigators Gary Cunningham and Rob Cornes to discuss their newly updated book "Irish Aquatic Monsters:A Survey and Definitive Guide".   

The book is a must buy for anyone with an interest in Irish Folklore, Lake and Sea Monsters and Cryptozoology and Gary and Rob discuss their reasons for the book, how they came to collaborate with each other and the cases they've dove into . We also shine a light on a couple of Cryptozoologists who you may never have heard of! 

Ireland may not be the first place you think of for unusual creatures, but the country has a rich history of strange creatures being sighted across the country and Gary and Rob have left no stone unturned in this wonderful book.   

The authors have also created mini regional Field Guides, however this volume includes the aquatic mythology of Leinster as well as in-depth chapters covering the usual and unusual suspects; extant animal species which may have helped give rise to these legends in the first place, the dobhar-chu and the water-horse and its origins.

This week, it's another subject new to Mysteries and Monsters, modern Demonology. We often think of demonology based primarily in the parameters of what we have been told by pop culture, religious dogma and televisual bias. 

Nathaniel Gillis is here to pull down the walls of what we believe, or certainly what we believe and why we believe what we have been told. Nathan is an author, lecturer and Religious Demonologist.

Nathan found himself drawn into the world of darkness when encountering a ghost whilst on a house viewing with his parents, but he began to question why we were not adapting to the hauntings and primarily in the role of demonic possession.

Why was religion not adapting to these demons?

Why were demons still appearing?

Where had they come from?

Why are they so religiously ignorant?

It was these questions that led Nathan to take a very different view on what demons actually are and how we need to deal with these entities?

This week, we return to the world of Ufofology with author and investigator, Paul Stonehill.   Paul has been writing about UFO's and USO's from his home country of Russia for several years and his latest book focuses on encounters and witnesses around the world on Russian ships and submarines.   

We discuss several cases included in his book Russia's USO secrets: Unindentified Submersible Objects in Russian and International Waters.   We discuss the mysterious sounds of the Kvakeri, strange sightings in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and mysterious encounters above the Arctic Circle.   

It's a subject we are still uncovering and it is interesting to see just how the former Soviet Union and the modern Russia view the UFO/USO phenomena and how they continued to investigate these cases under the cover of secrecy.

This week, we're taken on a trip around some of Ireland's most notable haunted locations in the company of author June Gossler Anderson.

June's latest book "Hauntings and History of the Emerald Isle" has just been released via Beyond The Fray Publishing.   

Part travelogue and part paranormal investigation, June's book covers her trip to Ireland back in 2015 and looks into more than just the ghosts. We look at the notorois Leap Castle, the scene of many a brutal murder and home to more than more than one haunting apparition, Enniscorthy Castle which saw tragic events imprint themselves upon the castle walls, June's experiences with table tipping and a rather cheeky set of spirits on a ghost hunt and some of the ghosts residing at Duncannon Fort.

Carl is an Entemologist but also has a love of cryptozoology, especially the UK's mystery big cats as well as his passion for Micro-Cryptozoology and his upcoming book covering this criminally neglected niche in the world of Cryptids.

Welcome back to Mysteries and Monsters!   This week, I am delighted to welcome Stephen Bassett alongside filmaker Darcy Weir to discuss a variety of topics, including Darcy's new documentary Volcanic UFO Mysteries.   


The new documentary features some frankly stunning footage captured by the Mexican authorities from their volcano monitoring systems. With interviews with Stephen and Jaime Musson amongst others, the film looks into the numerous sightings of unusual lights in and around volcanoes around the world.   

Stephen also discusses the ongoing fight for full UAP disclosure, his hopes for a new raft of congressional hearings and the changing dynamic towards the reality of the UAP phenomenon and how the perceptions have changed since the leaking of the Tic Tac videos and the more besides.   

Rather than considering this a "conspiracy", Stephen refers to this situation as a truth embargo, one that has been in place since 1952.   It's a thought provoking conversation which I hope you enjoy.

Thom appears in Episode 5 of the new season entitled "The Berkshire UFO incident" about the numerous witness to an event over the town of Sheffield in Massachusetts on September 1st, 1969. 

We are also joined by Judge Kevin Titus who also was a witness to the event and was responsilble for the sealing of the legal documents regarding the case. After two years, we finally tackle the UK's most famous cryptid in the company of Ken Gerhard. Ken has recently released his latest book "The Essential Guide To Loch Ness and other Aquatic Cryptids" and we dive into the history of Nessie since she first came to the media's attention in 1933.   

We cover some of the famous early sightings, THAT photo, the famous cryptozoologists who have joined the search for this enigmatic creature and Ken's theory on what Nessie could possibly be.   

We then hop across the Atlantic Ocean to look into another aquatic beasty allegedly caught on camera more than once, Champ. Lake Champlain's own mysterious creature has been reported for the best part of 300 years and we look at the Sandra Mansi incident, some notable sightings and the work people like Katy Elizabeth are doing hunting for the USA's top aquatic monster.

This week, we journey with author Morgan Daimler who will be our guide into the heart of this wonderful and sometimes disturbing folklore.

Morgan has written over 25 books on folklore from around the world, but the majority have been in regards to the Irish legends of the Fae and Fairies.

Morgan shares her extensive knowledge and research with us and guides us through cases, the challenge that a modern belief in Fairies brings, the historical context and written accounts, why we should always be aware of the respect shown to the Fae as well as many other fascinating aspects of "the little people".

We also touch on an account of the aftermath of a fairy battle, why Ireland and Iceland still make sure they don't disrespect the Fae and how even atheists have a healthy respect toward the Fae. It's always interesting to have someone as passionate as Morgan on the show as demonstrated by her current undertaking to teach herself Old Irish to translate more books, poems and accounts of the Fae from the last 1000 years.

In October 1959, Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone made its television debut, and for the next 5 years, over 156 episodes, would take us to places we had only imagined possible. Stories of time travel, supernatural revenge, murderous dolls, aliens amongst us, nuclear war and ghosts saw some of the biggest talent in acting, writing and directing appear on our screens.

For many, William Shakespeare is the greatest playwright of all time, his works consistently performed on film, television and on stage across the world. With works such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Othello and many more being household names, his legacy transcends continents, cultures and language.

Yet, for the last 175 years, people have questioned if William Shakespeare really is the man we are led to believe. Many point to a man with no history, no educational history and a missing decade as sure signs that William Shakespeare is a ghost of his time, a pseudonym for someone else, ostracised by the Establishment of the early 17th century.

To discuss this, I am joined by author Katherine Chiljan to hear the argument for the real William Shakespeare, The Earl of Oxford, Edward De Vere. A publish author, traveller and intellectual giant of his time who knew far more than the established narrative of William Shakespeare and some who actually had experience of travel, law, medicine, sport and more besides.

This week, we're joined by Daniel Perez, editor and publisher of the Bigfoot Times. 

Daniel has been involved in the search for Bigfoot for several decades from liaising with John Green and Rene Dahinden as a teenager, to being out in location, investigating witness sightings and compiling them for the monthly editions of the Bigfoot Times. 

We dive into a couple of infamous Bigfoot cases, the 1924 Ape Canyon story which saw Fred Beck, Gabe Lefever, John Peterson, Marion Smith and Smith’s son Roy alleged attacked by a group of Bigfoot to the point they abandoned their mining claim in Oregon. 

We also discuss the Bossburgh case, probably more well known as "Cripplefoot" as well as discussing the notorious Ivan Marx, Paul Freeman and a couple of modern sightings too.

It's a welcome return to the search for Bigfoot with the wonderful Amy Bue. Amy has made a name for herself in the last decade as a diligent, humble and driven researcher in the field of cryptozoology.   

Since witnessing a strange creature whilst driving in Ohio ten years ago, Amy has dedicated herself to push the boundaries of her knowledge in the subject.   Amy has brought a refreshing realism to the hunt for Bigfoot, and as a former member of the BFRO, Amy has now both aligned herself as a member of the Olympic Project as well as being the co-founder of Project Zoobook; a collaboration of scientists from a variety of disciplines.

It's been a while since we dove into the world of Folklore but when you have an area steeped in unusual legends, mysteries and of course, monsters on your doorstep its hard to resist.

Author and researcher, Charles Christian joins me today to examine the weird and wonderful history of an area known as the Wold Newton Triangle, an area hardly known in the UK, never mind Yorkshire.

The Wold Newton triangle lies between the ancient city of York and the coastal town of Scarborough, with its top edge pointing towards Flamborough Head. Inside this area we have monoliths and earthworks, the mysterious Gypsey Race river, said to foreshadow great misfortune across the globe, the site of the Wold Cottage meteorite which caused a sensation when it crashed to earth in 1795.

We also looke at the alleged skeleton of a dragon, killed by its greed and of course, its most notorious resident, the tale of Old Stinker, the UK's resident werewolf and a case Charles has investigated thoroughly. A big thank you to Charles for taking us on a trip around this little known area and sharing his werewolf hunting exploits.

It's a warm welcome back to one of our favourite guests, the marvellous Lyle Blackburn to discuss his fantastic new book, Boggy Creek Casebook.

Stories of the Fouke Monster came to public attention in the early 70's with both a terrifying incident in 1971 and Charles.B.Pierce's cult classic, The Legend of Boggy Creek in 1972.

The success of the film has made Boggy Creek a household name in the world of Cryptozoology. Yet, as Lyle's book clearly demonstrates, encounters had been occurring for several decades prior to the flap in the 1960's and early 1970's and continue to this day. Lyle and I discuss his continuing relationship with both the people of Fouke and its infamous cryptid, some of the most notable cases in the book and much more besides.

Welcome back to Mysteries and Monsters.   After diving into the world of monsters last week, we delve into a mysterious item found upon the shores of Michigan's Upper Penisula. Known as the MacIntosh stone, this small, etched stone was discovered simply laying on ground, waiting to be rediscovered.   

On it are some strange and unusual symbols that have caused consternation, confusion and more questions. What are the symbols? Are they an unknown form of Native American writing, a simply clever hoax or proof that European settlers arrived in the America's far longer than the narative suggests?   

We know the Vikings made it to Nova Scotia, so is it such a stretch to imagine they pushed further down into the Great Lakes area from this settlement.   To discuss this enigmatic mystery is Ron Radamcher, a man with a love of Michigan and a thirst for adventure and mystery.

We discuss the history of the MacIntosh stone, the theories put forward to explain it and the other mysterious clues the area shows us that suggest that maybe what we know isn't all that.

This week I'm joined by author, investigator, filmaker and presenter Jason Hewlett to discuss his career in the world of the paranormal.   

Jason has recently released "I Want to Believe" in conjuction with investigator Peter Renn through Beyond The Fray publishing.

With a long interest in the paranormal, Jason's journey has taken him via film school and a decade in journalism to being part of the growing Canadian paranormal scene.   Starting off with some personal encounters in childhood, Jason has built his experience through solo investigations of the abandoned Tranquille Sanitorium outside of Kamloops, British Columbia and joining up with the Vancouver Paranormal Society to invesitgate more locations across the state.   

With a balanced approach, Jason's experience in both film and print has seen him apply a more methodical approach to the paranormal. We discuss some of his notable investigations, the more notorious hauntings he wants to visit, his video investigation channel as well as what the future holds for both himself and Peter and how the book became a reality thanks to Shannon Legro on Into The Fray.

David Weatherly's 5th book in his expanding State Monsters series takes us to one of the original 13 colonies, North Carolina, a state close to David's heart as he grew up here.   

The Tar Heel state may not have the reputation of the some the USA's more notable cryptid hotbeds but you only have to mention the infamous case of the Beast of Bladenboro for people to take notice. 

 What is it about North Carolina that seems to be so favourable to some creature that we seem to have a population of mysterious predators that keep re-appearing every 20 years or so. Whilst the Beast of Bladenboro occurred in the 1950s, other flaps of creatures taking domestic animals has occurred worryingly regularity.

We also look at the numerous Black Panther sightings across the state going back decades as well as looking into North Carolina's most famous Bigfoot,a Knobby and discuss some of the witnesses that had some very interesting encounters with a large hairy creature over the last 50 years.   

Of course, the Casey Hathaway case is also pondered upon as myself and David wonder just how a 3 year old boy could survive in sub-zero temperatures. Casey of course famously claimed a "bear" looked after him and kept him safe.

One topic I’ve been asked to cover more than most is the disturbing and worrying experiences regarding Shadow People. From the Hat Man, to the Hag, to shadowy entities lurking in bedrooms and homes, these dark shapes often leave the recipients upset, confused and frightened. Yet, are all the interactions malevolent? Nick Redfern returns to Mysteries and Monsters to help us kick of the new year in style and act as our guide as we delve into the mysteries of the red planet and his book "The Martians".

Mars has captivated us for centuries, from the Romans and Greeks up to the present day and our current exploration of the planet's surface. Nick and I discuss many of the aspects of his book, from the alleged sightings of canal's upon the surface, weird anomalies sighted in photographs, secret NASA programs and the potential for a civilisation ending event that could have been responsible for the end of a Martian civilisation.

As February draws to a close, I am joined by Canadian psychic Robert Lindsy Milne to discuss his career over the last 6 decades and the journey he has undergone throughout that time.   

From starting out realising that perhaps he was tuned into something different at an early agge, Robert's life saw him end up working in the blossoming Toronto psychic circuit in his mid teens as he sought a hot meal and a warm bed above anything else.

In the second part of the show, I am joined by Dennis Stone, owner of the enigmatic site near Salem, New Hampshire. Dennis has inherited the site and has spent the best part of 40 years trying to get the bottom of this unusual construction.

This week, I am delighted to be joined one of Britain's most well known paranormal investigators, Richard Felix. With over 100 appearances on the seminal Most Haunted up to 2009, numerous tv interviews and a whole raft of his own ghost hunting guides around the United Kingdom, the only thing that matches Richard's passion for the paranormal is his love of history.

Richard was responsible for the funding and creating of a statue in Derby to commerate Bonnie Prince Charlie's ill fated invasion of England in the 18th century. Richard also saved and restored the historic Derby Gaol, one of the cities most haunted locations and has hosted ghost walks for over two decades.

We discuss his love of the paranormal and history, discussing one of my favourite paranormal subjects, the peculiar Screaming Skulls dotted around the country. We also touch on haunted battlefields, Witch Marks, his new book collecting ghost stories from around the UK as well as his favourite ghost that he feels to be more well known, that of P.C. This week, I'm delighted to welcome Dr David Clarke back to discuss one of the most the controversial alleged UFO encounters of all time, Rendlesham.

Christmas 1980 saw three nights of unusual reports, encounters and incidents in the Rendlesham Forest area, next to the Bentwaters and Woodbridge military bases in Suffolk.

The three main witnesses John Burroughs, Jim Penniston and Charles Halt have discussed this case over the last 40 years and Dr Clarke has investigated this case since beginning his journalism career in the mid 1980s. We look at the actual audit trail of MOD records, how the stories told now bear no resemblance to the witness reports that appeared in the mid 80s.

We look at why no-one in the MOD thought it was anything unusual, why, despite the incident occurring over a military base, no one scrambled any jets, the numerous claims, counter claims and revision that has gone on over the last 20 years.

We also look at why the Alan Godfrey case is far more interesting, Ufology now, the continuing situation with ATTIP, Folkore and touch on the Alien Autopsy screenings in the summer of 1995 in Sheffield as well as another strange case at Howden Moor in the Peak District.

Joe has recently released a brilliant documentary, entitled Creature From Big Muddy: An Illinois Bigfoot Legend looking at this unusual case. Featuring Chad and Kevin and a host of witnesses and locations, the film delves into the legends and lore of the Big Muddy case.

Our guides lead us on the hunt for this enigmatic cryptid. Whilst the main flap happened from 1972 to 1975, we discover that the Big Muddy Monsters seems to be a cyclical cryptid, especially based on its terrifying re-appearance in 1988!

This week, we welcome legendary Bigfoot investigator, Peter Byrne. As many may know, Peter has spent over 60 years hunting for both the Yeti and Bigfoot around the world.

We cover Peter's work in India, Tibet and the Himalaya’s, meeting Tom Slick and his work hunting for Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest. For Peter to still be out hunting for Bigfoot at 94 years of age is simply staggering so we keep things fairly brief for over 35 minutes.

A.P. has researched the folklore of the Vampire to see why the modern interpretation is so different from what the actual folklore and stories of vampirism actually show us.

We discuss the origin of the vampires, the contrasts in folklore from around the world, what actually counts as a vampire and the variety of ways to deal with the undead, once they return from the grave.

Along the way we discuss some of the most famous literary vampires as well as pondering if Count Von Count from Sesame Street has more in common with vampire folklore than many may actually realise.

We all love a good monster mystery and some stand out from the majority either because they were so weird, so unusual or simply arrived and disappeared in a short space of time.   

From the Dover Demon, to the Enfield Horror and one of my favourites, the Fresno Nightcrawler, unique cryptids are rarely spotted as rarely as these guys.   One of the weirdest also occured in the little town of Van Meter in the autumn of 1903.

The origins of this weird, winged cryptid have baffle many a researcher but I am delighted to be joined by Chad Lewis to discuss the Van Meter Monster alongside his book with Kevin Lee Nelson and Noah Voss.   

If you've never heard of the Van Meter Monster, then prepared to be baffled, mystied and more by a singular creature that terrorised the town over a seven day span before disappearing back to whence it came and the pagges of fortean folklore.   

We also dive into Chad's latest book, Supernatural Dares of the Mid-West, which sees Chad brave his hand at investigating over 40 supernatural dares said to punish those who try their luck.

This week, I am delighted to be joined by British investigator and author, Ruth Roper Wylde, to discuss ghosts and the paranormal. Ruth has now written 4 books looking at cases from the length and breadth of the British Isles and I have to say her work is refreshingly down to earth. 

Ruth's work reminds me of the excellent books written by Peter Underwood and John and Anne Spencer. Ruth’s investigations has put many urban myths to bed, but has also uncovered hundreds of cases previously unknown from every corner of this haunted isle.

We discuss some cases that Ruth has investigated including the mystery car that lead to the discovery of a skeleton, a headless woman who clearly wasn’t the ghost people thought, ghostly hitchhikers, a report she received last month and Ruth’s personal encounter with a shadowy figure on a lonely road.

This week, it's a warm welcome back to the show for Allison Jornlin.

Allison has just launched a new YouTube channel, Paranormal Women: A Hidden History focusing on some of the paranormal trailblazers that perhaps don't get the credit they deserve or may even have fallen off the paranormal radar.

As such, Allison is shining a light on some of the paranormal world's most iconic women over the last two centuries. We discuss the legendary Catherine Crowe, a woman who wrote one of the outstanding paranormal collections of the 19th century, the incredible "The Night Side of Nature" in 1848.

A collection of paranormal research, witness testimony and investigation, her book set the template for paranormal research today and has always been one of my favourite researchers.

We also discuss the incredible force of nature that was Alexandra David-Neel, a former opera singer who discovered Buddhism and embraced it to such an extent that her knowledge changed the whole way it was viewed in the Western world. From creating Tulpa's and sneaking into forbidden territories, nothing seemed too much for David-Neel to achieve. She was  also an anarchist, ran a casino and adopted a Buddhist monk.

We also talk about the author, Zora Neal Hurston, the woman who brought the world of Voodoo and Zombies into popular culture but also saw her career take such a nosedive, most of her personal possessions were burned after she died.

These three women are titans in the history of the paranormal and yet most people haven't even heard of any of them.

This week, I'm joined by American psychic and paranormal investigator John Russell from his home in Florida. John has been immersed in the paranormal since an encounter as a small boy in his family home in Texas. 

A ghostly visitor awakened John's interest and his life has embraced his interest and experiences ever since. As his abilities developed, John sought to understand what this all meant and sought answers in both spiritual and religious organisations, giving him a more balanced understanding of the biases that all belief systems hold.

John dicusses his early experiences, the intracacies of American talk radio, guardian angels, encounters with ghost animals and his involvement in a documentary searching for answers regarding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln for the History Channel that uncovered some unusual information that opened up new avenues for investigators and historians.

June 1977 and two USAF EMT's have decided to spend a weekend camping in the Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas.   What was supposed to be a fun trip for two best friends to take in some wildlife and admire the clear night sky became a terrifying night that changed lives and relationship forever.   

On this week's Mysteries and Monsters, I am joined by author and experiencer Terry Lovelace to discuss the events of that night in detail and the physical, personal and emotional ramifications of that incident.   

Terry talks us through the build up to the event, the immediate aftermath and the myriad of unusual incidents that took place at both the hospital and his home.   This included strange visitors to his hospital room, mysterious nurses, unusual medication and a complete breakdown in his friendship with Toby, his best friend and companion on that night.   

It's a compelling and emotional account and it was a pleasure to speak to Terry about the event and his life afterwards as he has battled to come to terms with what happened to him all those years ago.

25 years ago this week, millions around the world eagerly awaited the first television showing of alleged footage of evidence that would apparently change the world as we knew it.

That footage was alleged to be of an Alien autopsy, brought to us by the infamous Ray Santilli and was to be shown all over the world. One man had been aware of this film since 1993, when Santilli contacted him about the "Rosewell" footage. From that point on, Philip Mantle found himself knee deep in the middle of one of the most notorious hoaxes in the modern era.

Philip joins me to talk about his career as one of the UK's leading Ufologists, BUFORA (British UFO Research Association), some of his favourite cases as well a deep dive into how he became involved in this story and his quest to find out just who had made this famous fake footage.

We have a light hearted and funny conversation as Philip takes on a journey into the heart of that summer of 1995 and the amount of craziness that came his way. Philip has been a good friend to myself and the show since we started, so this is a long overdue debut appearance for Philip.

We return to the world of the paranormal this week in the company of writer, presenter and producer, Danny Robins. Danny's latest project is diving into a Poltergeist case that caused national headlines back in the mid 1950s but seemed to have dropped off the paranormal radar until a decade ago.   

In January 1956, 63 Whycliffe Road saw the arrival of one of the most active poltergeist cases in British history. Seemingly focusing on 15 year old Shirley Hitchings, the polt turned the lives of the Hitchings family upside down for the best part of decade, finally petering out in 1968.   

Danny's wonderful series focuses on the work of the forgotten British parasychologist, Harold Chibbert and his hands on investigation of the disembodied spirit who claimed his name was Donald amongst many other things.   

Featuring dramatic recreations with a stellar case including Toby Jones and Dafne Keen amongst others, The Battersea Poltergeist has been a phenomenal success via BBC Sounds. With Danny hosting the show, we discuss the shows germination, the two experts Ciaran O'Keefe and Evelyn Hollow and how Danny came across the case.   

We dive into the world of the poltergeist and wrestle with the concept of just how anyone could have even faked so much of the incredible evidence witnessed over so many years.

My guest this week needs very little introduction, with over 60 years of experience investigating unusual phenomenan since he was a child. Stan Gordon has become synonymous with the Kecksburg incident of 1965, when witnesses claimed something fell to earth and was recovered by the US Army under the cover of darkness.

It has become one of the most notorious UFO incidents in modern history. What really happened on that December night is still not clear and many witnesses point to a cover up at the highest levels.

He was also involved in the unusual events often called The Invasion of Chestnut Ridge over 1973 and 1974 when a number of strange Bigfoot type creatures were seen by several witnesses along with some frankly terrifying first hand experiences.

Stan takes us through both cases along side some more recent events and his career and we may question our understanding of both Ufology and Cryptozoology after listening to him.

This week, we take a trip back to August 1977 and the beginning of an 18-month nightmare for the Hodgson family, from Enfield in North London.   

The Hodgsons found themselves under siege from a malevolent poltergeist who targetted the children and the Enfield Poltergeist case became an overnight sensation. Within days of it starting, SPR member Maurice Grosse arrived and began to record the events. 

He would later be joined by renowned poltergeist investigator, Guy Lyon Playfair and together, they would catalogue over 1,500 incidents over a period between September 1977 and April 1979.   

We discuss the case, the evidence, the tapes and his new book, "The Enfield Poltergeist Tapes" as well the cases legacy and its place in the pantheon of poltergeist history.

If you'd asked me a year ago which piece of footage I never thought would be put forward as proof of alien life, then the Alien autopsy footage, first seen in 1995, would have probably been my first answer.  

Yet, incredibly, this well established fake is under going some kind of renaissance, as alleged Ufologists once again claim that this footage is 100% genuine. Absurdly, despite being debunked by skeptics and ufologists in the 90s, it now is being shown as proof. 

No doubt in this confusing time of US Navy leaks and tic-tac sightings, ufology seems to have regain some credibility, yet this is not footage of anything but a prop, filmed in London in the summer of 1995.
