12 Sep 2022 | The Firm w/ Emily St. James | 01:20:57
CONTENT WARNING: This episode features discussion of child abuse. Film changed forever in the summer of 1993. Jurassic Park showed the way of the future. For Emily St. James (Vox, Arden), the combination was unforgettable, inspiring - and also tied to difficulties with her family. Join Chris and Emily as they discuss the film, the summer of 1993, the career of Wilford Brimley, and much, much more. Christopher Young had a long and distinguished career in horror before he came to the 2012 film Sinister, but this time around, he tried out something different. 12 Dec 2022 | AI Artificial Intelligence w/ Kev Koeser | 01:37:48
In 2001, Steven Spielberg and John Williams released their 18th collaboration: the dazzling, misunderstood sci-fi masterpiece AI Artificial Intelligence. Kev Koeser (Talking Trek to You) joins us to discuss how Spielberg and Williams deconstruct themselves in their most haunting work to date. Narrative voice in score, the star personas of Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law, and a particularly startling musical allusion Williams makes are all among the topics we discuss. Join us, won't you?

26 Sep 2022 | The Ten Commandments w/ Meghan Fitzmartin | 01:25:14
In the 1950s, young, basically-blacklisted composer Elmer Bernstein got a remarkable offer from aging master director Cecil B. DeMille. DeMille was determined to retell the story of Moses on a scale unheard-of in Hollywood and with his former composer Victor Young sick and dying, Bernstein was up for the job. DeMille asked him if he could do for film music what Puccini did for opera. Bernstein said he didn't know, but he would love to try. Join Meghan Fitzmartin (Supernatural, DC Comics: Robin) and Chris as they talk about how The Ten Commandments took over Meghan's childhood, which of the film's fifteen themes are most memorable, and much, much more.
