This week we're discussing The Winchesters S01E10 - Suspicious Minds, in which an unexpected and frankly boring visitor shows up at the Scooby Gang hideout, Carlos deals with some relationship issues, Lata confesses to some nighttime trysts, and Mary & John practice smooching.

Hello and welcome to Season 08 everyone! We're coming out of our Purg Cage and we're feeling JUST FINE thank you very much. We had some pretty significant technical issues at the beginning of this, so there aren't as many outtakes as you usually expect, but the main episode is unaffected. Special thanks to Jessi aka FilthyWizard from the The Salt Report podcast for singing us a new intro! Isn't it great?!

It's time to talk about S13E12 - Various and Sundy Villains, in which Sam finally gets his GF back! Wooo! Dean is less than happy of course but that's only because Dean is incapable of allowing himself to experience the happiness of others. That's probably too dark for podcast notes but hey, that's Supernatural!

05 Apr 2018Episode 67: I Like My Coffee Black Like the Eyes of the Demon that Killed My Family01:41:50

It's another episode of Monster of the Week! This week we're covering S07E08: Season Seven, Time For a Wedding. This episode features some real gross stuff like our old friend Becky the Superfan drugging Sam to make him think he loves her. Hey folks: that's bad! But it also features a fun new character called Garth, so I guess everything works out in the end.

Chris and Jeremy are back with more Supernatural coverage, slowly but surely making their way through season 2. This week's episode starts with out with a bang in "Night Shifter", as Sam and Dean chase down a shapeshifter into robbing banks and impersonating dead bodies. Then it's on to "Houses of the Holy", where the boys have a crisis of faith and argue way too much. Finally, we delve into "Born Under A Bad Sign", in which Sam disappears, only to show back up with a new, spicy attitude.

08 Jul 2021Episode 237: Sam Why are You on Snapchat Right Now?!01:31:26

Hello friends! It's time we sit down and talk about The Winchesters. Yes, we're going to discuss S14E10 - Nihilism and talk about how Dean frees himself from Michael's possession, and yes we're going to discuss how Maggie comes into her own as a leader of the hunters in this episode which means she's almost certainly going to die later in the season. But for the first 15 minutes of the cast we talk about The Winchesters, the new SPN spin-off show announced by Jensen Ackles a couple of weeks before this recording. D~R~A~M~A

30 May 2019Episode 127: When It Rains...It Pours01:29:20

Friends, I have bad news. We have finally reached the worst episode of SPN ever, S09E20 - Bloodlines. A failed backdoor pilot that's closer to Twilight than Supernatural, it's 45 minutes of boring and irrelevant plot surrounded by very pretty and meaningless characters. Sam and Dean barely show up! 23 Mar 2017Episode 13: They Saved the People But Forgot to Hunt the Things01:44:31

The boys are back, but unfortunately we're missing one boy. Stephen is taking a break from the show a bit, so it's up to Chris and Jeremy to hold it down and cover our next three episodes. Good thing they're all three great episodes to talk about. First up: "Croatoan", in which Sam and Dean discover that demons have taken over a whole town and somehow made everyone's blood smell like sulphur. Then we move onto "Hunted", and see the return of everyone favorite horrible person, Gordon B. Lurkin. Finally, we briefly get into "Playthings", but it doesn't have much really necessary plot to talk about outside of a super drunk Sam. Nice!

03 Jan 2019Episode 106: Roxacles01:42:46

Hunks! We did it! We have arrived at the season eight finale and oh boy it's a good one. It's called Sacrifice, and so much happens that it's hard to even describe without using eight or nine paragraphs. Outside of the plot, it's probably one of the best acted episodes of the whole series, with standout performances from J2, Amanda Tapping as Naomi, and Mark Sheppard who should have probably won some sort of award. It's that good!

Welcome back hunks! We're almost to the end of Supernatural! Ahhhhhh! We're covering episode S15E19 - Inherit the Earth, and it goes FAST. Zoom zoom, baby.

Some Things You Need to Know About the Outtakes:

(1) A friend of the show, Jaime, created a MOTW themed cover of Justin Bieber's "Peaches" so I put it in the podcast. Because it is AMAZING AND COOL AND WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. You'll find the lyrics at the bottom of the shownotes if you wanna sing along.

(2) Before we started recording, my Mac decided to update, so Chris was stuck waiting for me for a VERY long time, and decided to answer questions from the discord. Huge apologies to Chris for all of this.

We opted to divide our normal feedback episode into two parts, this episode, and one dedicated to all the letters and calls we're getting from you. That will be out next week sometime, so yay! The intro for this episode is an amazing medley that was conceived by our good friend Jake Lionheart, and executed by him and his friends Megami, Chase Noseworthy, and Ben Northgraves. Welcome hunks! This week we're talking about S08E02: What's Up, Tiger Mommy. Yes, we talk a little about how that's a pretty insensitive title. Luckily, the episode on its own is extremely good. Hello friends! This week we're discussing S10E22 - The Prisoner. After the shocking death of Charlie in the last episode, Dean goes on a rampage. Meanwhile Sam gets even deeper into a web of lies as he tries to fix Dean. Rowena and Crowley continue using the Winchesters as their weird messenger service, and Castiel gets hurt by the one he loves. It's a pretty killer episode of MOTW, so good I had to put light saber sound effects in. THAT GOOD!

02 Feb 2017Episode 6: Dean Winchester Listens to Morrissey01:30:31

This week Jeremy, Chris, and Stephen take on another three episodes of Supernatural Season 01: "The Benders", "Shadow", and "Hell House" in episode six of Monster of the Week, aka "Dean Winchester Listens to Morrissey".

In "The Benders", Sam is kidnapped by a family ripped from a two-bit knock off Rob Zombie movie, and Dean is tortured by...a two-bit knock off Rob Zombie character. SIGH. All of that is ok though, because in "Shadow" we see the return of our favorite villain so far: Meg! And she brought shadow friends! And the Altar of Blood makes its second of FOURTEEN appearances on the show! Finally, we meet our top five reoccurring characters: the Ghostfacers! Unfortunately they aren't called that just yet, but still! GHOSTFACERS!

02 Mar 2017Episode 10: We're Gonna Need Those Wetter, Please01:45:15

Season 2 coverage has officially started! We're covering two episodes this week, as is the norm for season openers: "In My Time of Dying", in which we pick up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of season 1. In the second episode, "Everybody Loves A Clown", we talk a LOT (and I do mean a capital L L-O-T), about the brothers' feelings after the emotional events in S02E01. That's right, Angsty Sam is here, and he won't be going away anytime soon. Deal with it!

Heya hunks, this week we take a trip down wrestling lane and talk about S11E14 - Beyond the Mat. It's revealed that Sam and Dean are amatuer wrestling superfans, and John took them to a bunch of shows in their youth. So when a wrestler dies from totally normal circumstances, the boys crash the funeral to meet their (now broken) heroes and eat some good funeral food. Turns out: there's a ghost wrestler! We did it! Another season down. This week we cover the last two episodes of Season 3: "Time is on My Side" and "No Rest for the Wicked." Both of these episodes seem extremely rushed, a victim of the industry-wide writer's strike that happened the year season 3 was coming out. We get into it in the episode, but Bela's arc specifically seems cut short to the point where it almost doesn't even make sense. Then, in the finale, there's one HELL of a cliffhanger. 20 Jul 2017Episode 30: B.M.O.C.02:17:26

This week's podcast covers three episodes that takes the forward momentum that season 4 has had and SLAMS on the brakes. We don't think these are bad episodes, but taking a break from the meta plot for four episodes after 10 straight amazing episodes is a bit of a whiplash. That said, don't worry listeners: this is a great episode of the podcast and we squeeze every single brother-emotion out of each one. First up: Criss Angel is a Douchebag, in which our boys try to figure out what to do during a magician convention. Next, After School Special explores some of the depressing shit the Winchester brothers lived through as kids going to school, and also confirms that John Winchester is a terrible father. Finally, we wrap up with Sex and Violence and learn that Dean's ultimate fantasy is depressingly pedestrian. Like a said: a great episode of Monster of the Week.

Well, our run of super good S10 episodes comes screeching to a halt with S10E13 - Halt & Catch Fire. It's a bad episode for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the incredibly dumb "ghost". Luckily we get a lot of fun out of it, so this is still a great episode of Monster of the Week.

Like that intro? The music was done by our friend bansheebeat, who is a fantastic music producer. You should go listen to all of his various projects because they all rule. He found Maddie for the vocals, and Chris and I can't apologize enough for asking her to sing "show us the feet" but we're so happy she rolled with it.

Hello friends! We made it all the way through S11, and now we're at the end: S11E23 - Alpha and Omega. I usually make jokes here, but this is a really good and kind of emotional episode, so go watch it, get sad, and THEN come back and listen for the jokes.

Hello folks! This week we're covering S08E16 - Remember the Titans. It's sort of a filler episode that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but it isn't as aggressively terrible as S08E15, so....good?

14 Dec 2017Episode 51: Cursed Episode02:18:10

Hello listeners. It's me, your friend and Supernatural buddy, Jeremy. I'm here to write the shownotes to this episode. People on our Patreon may have noticed there wasn't an early release this week, and that's because this episode was cursed. Haunted, even.

BY GHOSTS.

Anyway, this week we're talking about S06E07, Family Matters, in which we finally learn What's the Deal With Sam. WOOOO. Then we take on S06E08, All Dogs Go to Heaven, where we meet a super creepy dog and Sam tries to deal with his...handicap. WE LOVE THIS SHOW AND YOU SHOULD TOO!

It's 10pm and I'm gonna go to bed!

UPDATE: that Patreon thing I mention at the end of this episode? They reversed their decision the day after we recorded, which was the day before this was released. So not enough time to change the actual episode. But: yay! Complaining works!
