In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about creating a home base for your marketing plan - Specifically, where you are sending people. I recommend that you have one solid home base to direct traffic, nurture your people, and continue building relationships. This is extremely important because people NEED a next step in order to take action and follow through. People in momentum continue to be in momentum. Therefore, you do not ever want your marketing to come to a dead end.

 When it comes to a home base for your marketing plan, we’re talking more about the biggest reason WHY you should have one (not multiple different ones), what my personal home bases have been over time, and the pros and cons of various home bases. One of my biggest pieces of advice is to not give too many choices when sharing how people can find and connect with you. Creating consistency and focus is really powerful, and it doesn’t need to be over-complicated!  

 It’s totally okay for you to test out different home bases for marketing, but make sure you’re giving it sufficient time before you change things up. That way, you’ll be able to find what works well and fits your particular business best. I truly believe that the more value you put out into the world, the more value will come back to you!

This week’s inspiring teacherpreneur journey is from Ashley DiMercurio of Your Reading Tutor!

Ashley is a certified Reading Interventionist, teacher and tutor mentor, podcaster, wife, and homeschooling mom to two beautiful children. She scaled her part-time business into a full-time income through multiple income streams, including an online tutoring business and online virtual summit. She’s been a featured presenter for several online events, and even launched The Reading Project podcast to help more families. Her ultimate goal is to show educators the possibilities beyond the classroom. 

In this episode, we chat all about Ashley’s story of leaving teaching and pursuing her first online business in network marketing. After finding success in the online space, she decided to pivot and start her own online tutoring business. She even created her own virtual online summit, Teachers Make Money Online, where she’s been able to collaborate and network with other educators. This has allowed her to really show them what’s possible when it comes to growing a business in the online space! We also dive into the importance of ‘know, like, trust’, which Ashley deems crucial for business success. 

 Ashley has not been afraid to try new things on her entrepreneurial journey. All along, she’s understood the value of personal connection with others. While building your online presence takes time, building connections really is the key to a solid marketing strategy.

In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about the 4 elements of holistic marketing. Your holistic marketing strategy should be like a braid, because all of the elements work together, layer together, and are stronger together. 


I first talked about the 3 original elements in a previous episode, but I have a 4th element that is now on my radar too. It’s very important that you’re working with your marketing, and not against it. All of these elements will take time, but marketing should feel natural and become easier as you keep going (I’ve personally experienced this). No matter what type of marketing you’re doing, you absolutely NEED to be pouring value into what you’re sharing. 


As you continue to focus on nurturing and building authentic relationships with people, you’ll position yourself as an expert. You just never know who you will be helping, or when the value you’re putting out into the world will come back to you!

In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about the love languages of marketing and specifically, the ‘right’ way to market your business. Perfect timing with this episode going live the week of Valentine’s Day - I didn’t intentionally plan that! 


You’ve probably heard of the 5 love languages when it comes to relationships; they are words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, physical touch, and quality time. All of these love languages can actually be used in your marketing in a variety of ways too. Think about positive testimonials and reviews coming from your customers, sharing about your signature offers, gifting your freebies, building genuine 1-1 relationships with others, and even providing quality trainings for your audience. ALL of these are wonderful ways for you to market yourself and your business, especially if you’re being intentional and putting high-value, quality content out into the world.

In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about marketing mindset, and specifically, data overwhelm in your business. All of the numbers and data in your business can have your head spinning and leave you feeling paralyzed. If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re definitely not alone!


First of all, I want to give you permission to just let it go. Secondly, I want to give you 3 tips to help avoid number overwhelm in your business. Consider how you can ‘flip the script’ and just allow your marketing to do what it needs to do. Marketing always works, but consistency is key here.


Take a deep breath, and take the pressure off of yourself. Don’t be afraid to re-evaluate along the way and make a change if something isn’t working like you thought it would. There is a delicate balance of knowing the numbers in your business, but you do NOT need to obsess over every single number and piece of data either!

In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about power questions for your marketing plan. I’m super excited for this one! This really is a phenomenal way to help you evaluate what’s working well in your business, and where you may be feeling stuck.


Questions are tools, and we can use them to do SO much. These 12 power questions are a really great way to help us if we’re feeling lost, need time to reflect, or learn and grow while moving forward. When I’m in a negative headspace or just unsure of what to do in my business, I tend to brainstorm and brain dump. Both of these methods help me to get all of my thoughts and emotions down on paper and out of my body. When I come back to my list later, I’m in a much better place, and have more clarity overall.

In this week’s Strategy Session, I chat with Heather Cacioppo of Full Sped Ahead. 


Together, we take a closer look into Heather’s landing and sales webpage for her mentorship program. After purchasing a template, she was really happy with how the page turned out. However, she now feels like she could be missing something. After this session and with just a few small tweaks, Heather’s pages will be optimized and running very smoothly!


Heather Cacioppo is a self-proclaimed accidental entrepreneur. When the world changed in 2020, she decided that it was the best time to start her business and off she went! From this, Full Sped Ahead was born. First, Heather built her Full Sped Ahead social media, website, and TPT store.  She then decided that a course and mentorship program would be super helpful to all of the teachers who were teaching remotely. Heather’s business grew very quickly. She then built her mentorship program and a digital data collection course to help special education teachers in the field.

In this week's Saturday Strategy Session, we chat about failure in marketing, specifically failure with Facebook ads. 


In this episode, I share a case study about the (frustrating!) Facebook ad results that I got a few months ago. Our goal was to sell a product. A product that this company has sold tens of thousands of times. There are tons of testimonials of how great the product is and how so many people use it in the classroom. So, lack of sales was not due to the product itself, but instead the Facebook ads were not doing their job.


Remember, your marketing efforts will not always work immediately. I get it - It can be confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming. However, with time, patience and effort, your work will eventually pay off! Tune in to hear how this was the case for one of my clients!

In this week’s Saturday Strategy Session, we’re talking about how a spin class relates to marketing, specifically running Facebook Ads. Even though I’m a runner, I began attending spin classes last winter as an alternative to running during the cold winter months. I quickly fell in love with the early morning workouts and saw the positive impact it made on my life! 


After 8 months of weekly class attendance, I began to realize how spin compares to the different aspects of marketing, such as the importance of focusing on you and not comparing yourself to others, remaining consistent, and the idea that marketing is just one part of a larger picture. From my initial first-timer nerves, to becoming more accustomed to the workout and environment over time, tune in and hear how my spin journey parallels with getting started in running Facebook ads!
