Samantha Sloyan is a true powerhouse in the industry. Her magnetic presence and unparalleled ability to intertwine depth and authenticity set her apart from the rest. There have been at least 5 different occasions when we’ve had listeners/viewers reach out to request that we get Sam on the show.

Well, here we go!!!!!! Thank God we did. You may recognize her from her compelling performances in shows like "Criminal Minds," "Scandal," and "The Morning Show." In 2016, her role in the film “Hush," directed by the visionary Mike Flanagan, marked the start of a collaboration that would span over the next seven years. From her chilling work on "The Haunting of Hill House" to her mesmerizing performance on "Midnight Mass" and "The Midnight Club," (*do you need to reference both of these?), she has dazzled us with her talent and terrified us with her pathos.. We love this woman and were blessed she joined us.

If ZZ Top's "La Grange" were an actor, it would be our next guest. While I might not fully grasp what this means, I do know that "La Grange" is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Our next guest embodies a unique vibe, one that can only be created by a man born in Golden Pond, Kentucky, bringing the essence of Appalachia to film and TV.

After graduating from DePaul in 1989, he started performing at the esteemed Steppenwolf Theatre.

He stole our hearts as Warren in "There's Something About Mary" and made us want to drink bourbon and smoke opium in "Deadwood."

He could have stopped there, but he went on to become the quintessential guy we love in countless other films and TV shows.  He's blown us away in Deadwood, Something About Mary, True Detective, Draft Day, Black Mass, The Master and so many others.

From a young age, he was drawn to the magic of storytelling, sparked by a memorable trip to the theatre when his father who took him to see the great Steve McQueen in Bullitt.   

Back then, he was more inspired to be a stuntman than an actor...

Still… after moving to Los Angeles In the 80s, he guest starred and reoccurred on some iconic shows that we still watch today… most notably, “Murder, She Wrote" and "Columbo."  He genuinely spent decades being a guy we love to watch.

Over the years… while putting together an admirable and coveted career… he always knew that the perfect role would find him.

it was his transformative experience shooting the pilot for "Westworld" in 2012 that truly changed the game for him. The perfect role had found him, and the character’s name of Peter Abernathy

 Our friend is not just an actor, but a storyteller … … by way of Producing some great indie projects with his company Ransack Films.

He brings depth and nuance to every character he plays…

And in the last decade or so, he had compelled us with great roles on shows show like Westworld, True Blood, and The Peripheral.  Now he’s continuing that decades long tradition of being excellent on the Night Agent…

Clifton Collins Jr. is a supremely gifted actor known for his dazzling performances that transcend genres. This week, we are thrilled to talk to an exceptional actor, and true Tinseltown original, Spencer Garrett. As we prepared to speak with Spencer, I found myself inexplicably captivated by his presence. It dawned on me that he evokes a long-forgotten romantic vision of Hollywood that I was searching for 24 years ago. It's akin to the ambiance of Jack Nicholson at Dantanas or Bukowski at the drawing room.

During our conversation, we delve into the contrast between this romanticized concept of Hollywood and the realities of our own experiences. Born into Hollywood, in a way, Spencer's mother was none other than Kathleen Nolan, a prominent actress and the first female president of the Screen Actors Guild. His father, Richard Heckencamp, was an esteemed talent agent.

Though his upbringing allowed him unique insight into the enchantment of our industry, Spencer still had to prove himself like anyone else. What stands out to me about him is his undeniable passion for the work. It is a special kind of joy that has sustained him for nearly four decades in the business.

The list of his credits is far too extensive to cover in its entirety, but he is particularly recognized for his roles in notable films such as Air Force One (1997), 21 (2008), Public Enemies (2009), All the Way (2016), and The Front Runner (2018), among many other remarkable projects.

If one were to consider a career in chapters, I would confidently assert that this latest chapter has been one of his most captivating. He stole the spotlight from the likes of DiCaprio and Pitt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and he is now reprising his role as the legendary Chick Hearn in the upcoming second season of HBO's Winning Time.

Eric played the recurring roles of Stuart Radzinsky on the ABC series Lost (2009) and Erwin Sikowitz in the Nickelodeon series Victorious (2010–13), and had his mainstream breakthrough for playing David Tate/Kenneth Hasting on the FX series The Bridge (2013). He earned acclaim for starring as Bill Stechner on the crime drama Narcos (2016), Lyle Mitchell on Showtime's Escape at Dannemora (2018) which earned a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Movie/Miniseries, and Lou Burke on the Netflix original series Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021). He currently stars as Detective Gene Holcomb on the HBO series Perry Mason.

David Zayas is a talented  actor known for his compelling performances in film, television, and theater. Born on August 15, 1962, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Zayas moved to the United States as a child and grew up in the Bronx, New York City. Zayas initially pursued a career in law enforcement, serving as a New York City police officer for 15 years. However, his passion for acting led him to explore opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Zayas made his breakthrough in television when he was cast in the critically acclaimed HBO series "Oz" (1997-2003), where he portrayed the complex character of Enrique Morales. Following his success on "Oz," Zayas went on to appear in numerous television shows, including "Dexter" (2006-2013), where he portrayed the morally conflicted detective, Angel Batista. In addition to his television work, Zayas has also made significant contributions to film. He has appeared in movies such as "The Expendables" (2010), "Annie" (2014), and "The Lennon Report" (2016), showcasing his versatility and ability to portray a range of characters.

Beyond his on-screen performances, Zayas has also maintained a presence in the theater world. He has appeared in numerous stage productions, including the Tony Award-winning play "Anna in the “Tropics" (2003). David Zayas' talent and dedication to his craft have earned him widespread recognition and respect in the industry. His ability to bring depth and authenticity to his characters, coupled with his commanding presence, has made him a sought-after actor. Murphy is known for the films; Disney's Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Depp; Appaloosa starring and directed by Ed Harris; Jorma Taccone's comedy Macgruber opposite Val Kilmer; National Treasure: Book of Secrets with Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris and the Indies Not That Funny opposite Tony Hale. As well as Jason Momoa's directorial debut Road to Paloma and Looms by the Funk Brothers.

A lifetime member of the Actors Studio, Murphy is an award winning stage actor and was nominated for Best Actor in Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Other awards have included best ensemble for The Lost Plays of Tennessee Williams and best revival for the Brecht Musical, Happy End.

In the past few years he's separated himself from the pack. He blew us away as "Behind the Scene Gene" in Netflix's True Story. He mesmerized us all with his work as "Yousep" in Emily The Criminal.

He can next be seen opposite Colin Farrell in HBO's "Pengiun" as well as Netflix's  next best movie "Carry On" opposite Jason Bateman.

P.J. Byrne A graduate of Boston College with a double major in finance and theatre and an M.F.A. in Acting from the prestigious Theatre School at DePaul University, actor P.J. Byrne has compiled a long list of impressive film and television credits.

Byrne stars alongside Dwayne Johnson to save the world from global catastrophe in the action film Rampage loosely based on the video game of the same name. He can also be seen in 15:17 Train to Paris which marks the second time Byrne has worked with Oscar Award winning director Clint Eastwood. Byrne's latest movie is Green Book for director and writer Peter Farrelly. Green Book tells the story of a working-class Italian-American bouncer who becomes the driver for an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South and stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali.

In 2013, Byrne starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street for director Martin Scorsese and proceed to team up again with the famed director in 2016 on Vinyl for HBO. He also can be seen on Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, another HBO production and on the Showtime series I'm Dying Up Here staring Melissa Leo.

Incredibly well versed in drama, comedy and science fiction/fantasy work, Byrne is one of the stars of the upcoming SyFy Channel series Tremors, which also stars Kevin Bacon. Tremors is a television reboot of the film of the same name in which a small town is gripped with fear over giant underground worms living beneath them.

Renowned for his pivotal scene-stealing role in Horrible Bosses, Byrne's character supports the stars of the film as they plot to kill their bosses. This film allows him to add Jason Bateman to a long list of important actors with whom he has had the opportunity to work. He has played opposite: Steve Carell in Dinner for Schmucks, Zach Galifianakis in The Campaign, Harrison Ford in Extraordinary Measures, Tom Hanks in Mike Nichols' Charlie Wilson's War, Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman in Nora Ephron's Bewitched, Jack Black in Michel Gondry's Be Kind, Rewind, Jim Carrey in Bruce Almighty and Clint Eastwood in Bloodwork.

Byrne was very well received for his starring role in the 5th installment of the phenomenally successful Final Destination franchise for Warner Bros. In the film Byrne's character meets one of the more unusual demises ever in the series of sci-fi horror films. Byrne's television credits include the fan favorite role of Irv Smiff, the driven sports agent, who represents a number of professional football players in the ongoing BET hit series The Game.
