They are the co-founders of the Conscious Coaching Collective, and together they help women gain control of their thoughts + emotions so they can have better relationships with themselves and others. Della is a trained therapist with 8+ years of experience in psychology and mental health, with a focus on human behavior and emotion regulation. Reese is a mindset coach with 9 years of experience as a fitness professional helping others achieve both physical and mental wellness goals. The importance of polyvagal theory in your healing journey
Today's episode is a brief overview of the ployvagal theory (a.k.a. the science of healing). This theory (science) is rooted in understanding ourselves and being one with ourselves as we heal from trauma, shame, guilt, anger, and more. These emotions impact our overall quality of health and how we live. I am currently on a journey to learn more about this theory and it's role in all of our healing journeys. The importance of prioritizing healthy fats over sugar
I felt really called to share what I have been learning as I read the book, Sugar Crush by Dr. Richard Jacoby and Raquel Baldelomar. I say this a lot, but we don't know what we don't know and that's a lot. Health class unfortunately never taught us the importance of a whole foods diet, why sugar is bad for you, and that healthy fats are nothing to fear. In today's episode, I share the importance of reducing your sugar intake and increasing your healthy fat intake so that you can live a longer, happier, and healthier life. The ONE universal way of eating that will fight ANY dis-ease in the body
We have talked about an anti-inflammatory diet's purpose on the podcast before, but I felt the need to circle back to it. Diets these days are not as popular, which is a good thing I'm my opinion. I am always quick to mention that the anti-inflammatory diet aims to change the way we view the word diet. It is less restrictive and focuses on eating whole foods at the core, simple enough right? In today's episode, I break down what this way of eating looks like, the benefits, and most importantly the ability to be flexible with it. Additionally, I share the book, The Inflammation Spectrum by Dr. Will Cole. This book offers a great way to identify some of your trigger foods when converting to a whole-food diet/lifestyle.
