21 Apr 2020You're Not Lazy, You're Just Afraid.00:36:29

In the latest episode of Limitless Life™, I’m sharing a #LimitlessCoaching call, where I privately coach an online business owner to help them move through the blocks and thoughts that are keeping them stuck. The beauty of these calls is that YOU get to be a fly on the wall as you listen to someone else’s transformation. I have a feeling it might lead to some of your own breakthroughs and insights, too.

Today, I’m coaching Britney. Britney’s from a small town in Michigan and has taken several of my online business courses to create her fitness coaching company. By the looks of her website, you’d think she was one of the biggest names in her industry -- it’s polished, professional, and has tons of helpful information. In Britney’s words, she told me that she has the “perfect framework for her business.” She knows how to create great content, her systems are in place, and she’s ready for growth. But she realized that her mindset was keeping her stuck and holding her back from the success she knows she’s capable of deep down.

This coaching call is for you if you’ve ever had tons of great ideas, but then procrastinated on taking action.Or if you know that you WANT to play bigger in your life or business, but you’re afraid of what people might say, and you often feel like an imposter.

Get ready to break through, my friend. Your limitless life could be on the other side of this coaching call. Let’s jump in.

27 Apr 2021Make Aligned Decisions Using Your Human Design Authority00:52:07

At some point or another you’ve probably wondered “why am I the way I am?”.

And to figure it out, you may have taken some of the big personality tests like the Enneagram, Myers-Briggs or DISC -- or maybe you’ve turned to Astrology for some answers.

But have you ever heard of Human Design?

Human Design offers a map, or a manual, based on a combination of the I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, and quantum physics that indicates how you are unique as a person -- in other words, what makes you tick. By understanding your Human Design, you can better align yourself to your energy, intuition and the world.

In this week’s episode I’m joined by Victoria Jane, Human Design expert and former Silicon Valley tech employee turned entrepreneur. Victoria spent 10 years hustling in Silicon Valley before reaching a major turning point that changed everything and led her to study Human Design and how it can help people. Today she works with growth-oriented, professional women to use Human Design to live and thrive - with less hustle and more flow.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • A breakdown of Human Design and how it can uplevel your life [5:22]
  • How Human Design has changed Victoria’s own life in a big way [6:58]
  • What is “authority” in Human Design, and the different kinds that exist [11:33]
  • The critical role that your nervous system, and your own self-care, will play in this journey [25:43]
  • A time in my life where I didn’t feel connected to my own identity, and Victoria’s thoughts on how my Human Design could have played a part in this [29:46]
  • The various ways you can being using Human Design in business [44:52]

03 Feb 20216-Month Check-In on Our Social Justice Action Plan00:50:10
Roughly 6 months ago, I co-created a 1-Year Anti-Racism Action Plan for myself and my company. It was created in June 2020, about a month after George Floyd's tragic murder, as a way to truly pledge my commitment to this work beyond half-hearted promises.

Social Justice and white supremacy have been topics I've personally been learning about for about a decade, yet as I looked around my life and business, I saw plenty of unconscious bias and room for improvement (and even things that kind of embarrassed me to admit...more on that in this post!). To me this means that, especially as a white womxn, learning how to dismantle systems of oppression and cause less harm is a lifelong journey. It's a language I can't learn from reading a single book or taking one class, as social justice is an ever-expanding process of self-examination, education, and action.

Now that my company and I have had half a year to implement this plan, I wanted to give you a FULL 6-month update to share where we've succeeded, what we're still working on, and what's next. And since Black History Month is kicking off right now, it seems like the perfect time to share this and keep the momentum moving.

Let’s dive in.

07 Aug 2017The Keys to Creating the Best Relationship of Your Life00:47:55

Today’s discussion is one of my favorites on this podcast so far -- I'm welcoming Vienna Pharaon, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Mindful Marriage and Family Therapy in NYC. If you've ever wanted to have better relationships, work through the "stuff" from your past, and become more aware of who you are at your core, this episode is for you.

Vienna is the founder of the super popular @MindfulMFT Instagram account, the expert relationship contributor for Motherly, an international speaker and presenter, and the co-founder of the Relationships 101 program she presents around North America.

She believes that we all have the capacity for beautiful change and fulfilling relationships, but that in order to come face to face with that change we need to take on vulnerability, explore our past, and find ways to express and expand ourselves and our needs in a healthy and connective way. During this chat, we talk about things like what THE most important quality is in a romantic partner, what the prerequisite is before you can be in a happy, healthy relationship, and how to actively work through any negative experiences you had in the past, that are still disrupting how you feel in the present. Listen now!

02 Oct 2017How to Finally Overcome the Struggles You’ve Experienced to Reach Your Highest Potential in Life and Business00:56:24

This episode is with Cheryl Hunter, who is an expert in resiliency. It is one of my all-time favorite episodes, and it moved me in an extraordinarily meaningful way…

When Cheryl was living abroad at the age of 18 she was abducted, beaten, sexually assaulted and held captive for several days. Now she’s devoted her life to helping other people overcome immense challenges. She’s been featured in Forbes, The Huffington Post, Fast Company, CNN and has presented multiple TED Talks that will move you to tears.

This conversation with Cheryl is far from sad or upsetting; it’s one of the most inspirational and freeing interviews that I’ve had on this show and I know you’ll leave feeling peace and resilience too. We talk about things like how her experience shaped the rest of her life’s path, as well as how finding the beauty and joy while experiencing pain will allow you to look back and feel grateful for the struggles. Cheryl also shares her resiliency framework and the key strategies that can help us overcome anything. This episode will make you laugh, tear up, find the beauty in the struggle but most of all, it’ll inch you closer to who you really are.

05 Mar 2018Staying True to Yourself as an Entrepreneur with Cosmetics Legend, With Bobbi Brown00:38:15

I feel like a lot of us go through those pre teen years where we just feel unattractive and awkward, and I was no stranger to feeling like an ugly duckling myself. Meanwhile, my idols were people like Hilary Duff and Britney Spears, beautiful women who looked nothing like me. Around that time when I was in junior high school, my mom bought me a book that was all about natural beauty. It was written by today’s guest, Bobbi Brown, and I didn’t realize it then but that book was a catalyst that helped me see myself in a whole new light. It celebrated diverse forms of beauty that I had yet to see in the media.

Bobbi Brown is still prolific in the beauty industry, and you’ve probably heard of her makeup company, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. The company was purchased by Estee Lauder in the 1990s, and she served as Chief Creative Officer there for more than 20 years. Now she has moved on to start an all natural supplement brand called Beauty Evolution, as well JustBobbi.com, an editorial and lifestyle platform. Bobbi has been a pioneer in the natural beauty space with a motto that says, “the secret to beauty is simple: be who you are.”

During our inspiring conversation, Bobbi and I chat about what it was like to create a brand that emphasized natural beauty in the late 80s, when the most popular beauty trends involved big, bold and unnatural makeup. We also talk about what it was like to go from being a makeup artist to running an enormous global brand, as well as the decisions she made that helped to set her company apart from all the other beauty brands out there. Whether you’re a makeup fanatic, a champion for helping people feel comfortable in their skin, or an entrepreneur looking for tips from a super-savvy business woman, this interview is for you!

21 Aug 2017How a Yoga Blogger Earned $70,000 During Her 2-Week Course Launch00:45:33

I know I probably say this about each episode, but I am so excited to share this conversation with you! Allie Van Fossen is one of my students in my Blog to Biz Hive course and she has this incredible and unique story of how she turned her yoga blog into a mega successful business. As you’ll hear, she now has plans to literally sail the world!

Allie is the woman behind The Journey Junkie, which is an online community that aims to help people live their best life through the practices of yoga and mindfulness. She’s taught thousands of people how to create and sustain a yoga practice at home with her weekly yoga videos, free challenges and paid programs.

In today’s interview, you’ll learn all about Allie’s story and how she started in a cubicle, or “Cubeland” as she likes to called it. She reveals specific strategies that she has used to have an amazingly successful course launch, where she made her entire year’s worth of salary is just 3 weeks! You’ll also hear about how she attracts an ever-growing community to her YouTube channel, blog, email list and Facebook group. This girl has got soul and a ton of wisdom to share about following your purpose of living the life you’ve always dreamed of having – right this second.

28 Jul 2020How to Make Scary Financial Decisions in Your Business00:29:03

I’ve got a quick little coaching episode for you today, where I’m speaking with one of my mastermind members Elena. Elena is a photographer and educator for other photographers, and she has grown a thriving multi 6-figure business in the process. I’ve worked with Elena for about 6 months now, and I’ve really noticed her ability to lead others, as she now has a growing team of people supporting and expanding her vision. When we first started working together, Elena did have a fear around paying for support though, and this conversation is partially about that.

Another thing she speaks about is this idea that success can be more challenging as you progress from just starting up, and what doesn’t get talked about a lot is the fear that comes when you have more to lose. More success often brings more pressure, but wherever you are in your business, you’ve got to allow how you feel because it’s normal. I hope this conversation with Elena helps you build awareness around your own feelings, and whether or not you are living in fear or in alignment with your true values.

04 Aug 2020How a Mindset Shift Helped Her 3x Her Revenue in One Week00:52:34

Have you ever met someone that you just think is totally incredible and unstoppable? That is how I feel about today’s guest, Caley, who I’ve gotten to know over the past 6 months as a member of my mastermind program. When March of this year hit and the fear of the global pandemic was rising, Caley lost 80% of her business within a 5-hour span. Rightfully so, she was pretty scared about this situation, but she learned one key strategy in the mastermind that changed everything for her. Only one week after she lost the majority of her clients, Caley not only matched her previous revenue – but she 3x’d it! The strategy and mindset shift she used to do this is going to be helpful for you too, regardless of what you’re going through in your business right now.

You’re also going to hear about the painful experience of Caley’s father passing, and how she was feeling running a business at this difficult time. She has some beautiful wisdom and perspective to share around this, as well as the vital role that community can play in your life and your business.

If you are interested in learning more about my mastermind too, you can go to http://boldabundancemastermind.com/, and a group is open for applications right now! If you’re feeling like you need community, support and strategy to get to your next level, then listen in on this conversation with Caley because we are diving deep into a lot of amazing topics today!

23 Apr 2020Why Your Body Is the Biggest Gateway to Your Healing, With Ruthie Lindsey00:58:47

Welcome to the Limitless LifePodcast. Today, we’re chatting about how one woman’s immense trauma and pain led her to true peace, deep connection, and ultimately, self love.

What is up Limitless Lifers! I am soo thrilled to bring you today’s episode with Ruthie Lindsey, who I think is a human superhero. When Ruthie was 17, she was hit by an ambulance outside of a gas station. She broke her neck, punctured her lungs, and ruptured her spleen. Doctors performed a spinal cord fusion using wire and miraculously, she walked out of the hospital within a month. But a few years later and newly married, even slight movements would send intense pain throughout Ruthie’s entire body. She became depressed, bed-ridden, and addicted to narcotic painkillers. Doctors said that the wire holding her neck together was now piercing her brain stem. As she prepared for one of the biggest surgeries of her life, her marriage began to fall apart, her father passed away suddenly, and Ruthie felt utterly broken, inside and out.

That is, until she decided to shift her thinking. Now, Ruthie is a sought-after speaker, podcast host, social media superstar, and author of the recent book, There I Am: The Journey from Hopelessness to Healing. She’s also one of the happiest and most loving people I’ve ever met! In this interview, we talk about how Ruthie experienced some of the lowest lows possible -- and at such a young age -- and was able to rebuild her life from the ground up with more freedom, joy, courage, and self-love. This conversation is SO inspiring -- not only does Ruthie have such a beautiful way with words and an incredible story to tell, but I know you’ll see yourself in pieces of her story, too. I can’t wait for you to listen! Let’s dive in.

28 Aug 2017How These Best Friends Turned 2 Failed Launches Into a Six-Figure Business00:49:14

So last week you got to hear from one of my Blog to Biz Hive students, Allie, who used her blog to launch a successful yoga business. Today’s guests are Cassie and Shay, who also went through my program and ended up creating an incredible business in the process!

Cassie and Shay are best friends/business partners and founders of The Bucketlist Bombshells, which is an online educational community that teaches millennials how they can create a business that allows them to work remotely and travel the world. Their online courses teach everything from graphic design and website design to business tactics for freelancers. They’ve been featured in places like Forbes and Elite Daily and are currently based in beautiful Bali.

They had enrolled in my course after having a couple of unsuccessful (their word – not mine!) launches of their own online courses and they wanted to learn the tactics that can be used to have a successful launch. While I take no credit for their amazing success, you’ll hear in this interview how they turned those early course launch disappointments into a thriving 6-figure business that allows them to live their purpose, every single day.

01 Jan 2018How to Stop Judging Yourself and Others, With Gabrielle Bernstein00:25:47

I am so thrilled to be sharing today’s guest with you, because she is someone that I deeply admire. Her name is Gabby Bernstein, and last year I actually wasn’t too familiar with her work. I decided to attend her book tour in Los Angeles though and got to hear a heartfelt speech from Gabby, which was followed by an amazing Q&A session. Needless to say, I became an instant fan! Gabby is as wise and soulful as she is empowering and honest.

Gabby Bernstein is the #1 New York Times Bestselling Author of The Universe Has Your Back. She was featured in Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday as a next generation thought leader and she co-hosted The Guinness Book of World Record’s largest guided mediation with Deepak Chopra, who was also a guest on this podcast.

In this interview, we talk about concepts from her latest book, Judgment Detox. If you’ve ever wanted to understand why you judge other people and yourself, this episode is for you. Today you’ll learn where your judgments come from, how to heal them and who you can become when you stop believing your judgments.

14 Jul 2020How to Move Forward When You Feel Lost or Afraid00:49:25

I’ve got another coaching call for you today, this time with a wonderful woman named Saige who is a hypnotherapist and a spiritual guide. Saige came to me because she was feeling like there’s a “next level” to the work that she does, but she was feeling really unclear about what this looked like in her life (and how she would even get there). A lot of Saige’s uncertainty has come from her fear of raising her prices, among other things, and if you’ve ever felt this way then I think you’re really going to resonate with what we talk about in this episode.

This conversation will help you witness the compromises you’ve made that have been holding you back from your truth. I think you’ll also be able to see the opportunity that you have to really discover your direction and to get to that next level in a way that feels really good and exciting to you.

24 Oct 2017A Millionaire’s Advice on How to Remove Your Money Mindset Blocks to Fully Live in Abundance and Wealth00:58:10

I met today’s guest Chris Harder in a very unique way (you’ll hear the full story in the intro!) and I have to say he is an extremely kind and generous individual. After an 11-year career as an executive and partner in the banking industry, Chris was feeling burnt out and lacking fulfillment. Since then, he’s retired from banking and partnered with his wife Lori and her brand, LoriHarder.com, and Chris has now found the meaning that was missing in his previous career.

Chris is also the host of the hit podcast, For The Love of Money, which is aimed at helping people bust through their money blocks to become unapologetic about their pursuit of wealth and to show that money is a tool for good in a world with many, many needs.

In today’s episode we’ll be talking about money mindset blocks that keep us from reaching new levels of wealth, why our culture has a problem with generosity, how to work through financial issues with your partner and the things that Chris and Lori have done over the years to create a truly incredible relationship together!

07 Jul 2020Why Undercharging in Your Business is Hurting Your Impact + Accessibility00:20:47

Today’s topic is a question I get all the time on Instagram, by email and from people in my mastermind groups, which is why I really wanted to record a podcast episode about it. In fact, this very thing may be holding you back in your business and in the ways that you can impact people.

I’m going to talk about the desire to make your work accessible, and as a result, you underpricing your products or services to so that your ideal customers can afford them. Have you been stuck in the same pricing structure you’ve been at for awhile now? If this sounds like you, then you’re going to want to listen to this episode.

As always, I thank you for listening and I would love to hear your thoughts. DM me on Instagram, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know the impact that you’re going to be able to create from this new place of true generosity in your business!

16 Apr 2018What You Can Learn About Leadership From a Former Lululemon Executive, with Sarah Kaler00:46:24

I’m super excited to welcome my friend Sarah Keller to the podcast. As you’ll hear, Sarah has a really interesting story because for a decade she was a senior director at Lululemon, helping grow it from a small company with a few stores into a massive multi-million dollar empire.

During the quick escalation to this success, Sarah suffered serious stress-related issues, which led to her changing the way she works and lives. This is coming from a very hustle-minded woman who loved to work and was constantly flying around the world. Sarah didn’t know how to stop, but she knew she had to. Eventually she decided to strike out on her own as an entrepreneur and now she coaches women on how they can own their own power and become world-class leaders.

In this interview, we talk about a landmark research study her company is doing to learn more about how some women become what Sarah refers to as “indestructible leaders”, and what we can learn from them. This interview is packed with important ideas that are helpful for anyone, man or woman alike, who want to become a stronger leader, have better health and work-life balance. Sarah’s story is one that really inspires me deeply to become a better leader myself and to live with more purpose (and to think bigger than I already am).

27 Aug 2020Will Success Disconnect You From Others?00:46:47

This coaching episode with Courtney is a special one, and it gets pretty emotional as we dig deep into a lot of different aspects of being an entrepreneur, mom and human being. Courtney feels a resistance to earning more money and having a bigger impact, and she’s not alone because this is something that I hear a lot from others. Courtney can see the vision and she knows that it’s possible for her to create a life and business that she wants, but something is standing in the way. She initially thought It was perfectionism, but there are hidden things tripping her and holding her back. It’s actually a fear of success, and what will happen if she did increase her impact and level of success. This is a big concept about success that entrepreneurs ignore, which we look at here. What will happen if you play bigger, and who will you leave behind? Can you be a successful entrepreneur, all while being an amazing partner and parent? These are the questions I help Courtney answer today, and I think you too will get a lot from this coaching episode.

16 Mar 2021How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind for Success, with Reese Evans01:12:56

You may have heard the saying that "Your results are an exact mirror of your thoughts." It's true! In fact, roughly 95% of your choices and habits are driven entirely by your subconscious mind. What that means is that our unconscious mind is largely calling the shots, and if you're not liking the results you're seeing in some area of your life, it's likely because your subconscious beliefs and identities are not in alignment with the results you'd like to have.

So...how can you befriend your subconscious mind and create better and more aligned results in your life? That's exactly what this episode is all about! I'm joined by Master Coach, Reese Evans, who is experienced in a variety of techniques -- like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), hypnotherapy, and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) -- to aid clients in reprogramming their subconscious beliefs.

This episode is JAM packed with helpful and actionable information to aid you in creating the kind of life you desire. I have to say...it's one of my favorite interviews to date!

Reese and I talk about...

  • What Reese’s path to coaching has looked like, and how she realized she could integrate all the parts of her life and still be successful [0:58]
  • How the subconscious mind differs from the conscious mind [9:58]
  • The way that our early experiences in life can lead to lifelong patterns [14:07]
  • How hypnosis, EFT and manifestation can be used as tools in our daily lives [17:32]
  • Why expressing our emotions is good for us in so many different ways [37:59]
  • Her thoughts on “rules” to live by and what to do to become aware of and shift them, if necessary [46:07]
  • A different approach to goal setting and where most people are often going wrong with it [58:19]
  • Some common productivity myths that just aren’t true [63:41]
  • One big lesson (of many) that Reese’s newborn son has taught her [69:24]

19 May 2020She's Afraid to Express Herself to Others00:36:43

What is up Limitless Lifers?!

Today, I've got a new coaching episode for you. This one is really special because I was actually doing a coaching call inside one of my online courses when one of my students spoke up and had this profound question. She had a radio interview coming up, but she was terrified of people hearing what her voice sounded like.

Now, this was a typed question during our group coaching call. I wasn’t able to hear her voice but I already knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. We talked about this as a group and worked to really understand what was underneath the fear.

Today’s conversation is a deep dive into this powerful topic. Throughout our conversation in this coaching call, it becomes a beautifully profound metaphor for anyone who is afraid of people hearing their voice, people seeing their fullest expression, people witnessing them in who they really are and watching their growth, and what it might feel like for you to ask for more in your life to speak up about who you are and what you want.

I think you're going to really love this conversation with one of my students, Tiffiny. She has some incredible insights and uncovers so much depth beneath her fear of people hearing her voice.

So let's dive into the conversation with Tiffiny!

02 Jul 2020Why Creativity is the Path to Happiness, with Sylvester McNutt00:42:43

Today I have an amazing interview with Sylvester McNutt, who I actually met through Instagram where he has a half a million followers (or more)! I was so struck by a video that he posted on healing and how to be with people who are in pain, that I just knew I had to invite Sylvester to be a guest on this podcast.

In this conversation we cover a lot of different things, including why having boundaries is so valuable for healing, how to truly feel your feelings without just bypassing them, and the way to start questioning things in order to develop your own mindset on the world.

If you haven’t heard of Sylvester, he’s an author of many books, a creator of online courses and all the things to help you heal yourself, and he is someone who does all this from a place that feels relatable and easy to digest (and understand)!

21 May 2020How to Reconnect to Your Business and Yourself as a New Mom00:48:00

What is up, Limitless Life™ family? Today I’m sharing a really amazing conversation with someone named Lauren who, as you'll learn in this coaching call, has quite an inspiring story. She decided on a whim one day to pack up her bags and move from the United States to Brazil. And in Brazil, she found a partner and had a baby, all while making a lot of headway on her career and her online business.

Now, she's finding herself in this place where she feels stuck. See, she's got this website where she creates resources to support teachers. She does have a day job that she goes to as a teacher, which she loves. She also creates resources that she sells in order to help teachers, but she notices that she's constantly jumping from one thing to the next and not really finishing things. She's always starting over.

And so inside of this #LimitlessCoaching call, we're going to dig into what that means and why that might be happening behind the scenes. We're also going to be talking about control, comparisonitis and reconnecting to a deeper part of ourselves.

This episode is going to be a really powerful one for you if you are a new parent where you feel like you're losing yourself as you give all you have to your children, or it's going to be an amazing episode for you if you feel like you start things and don't finish them. Or if you feel like you're taking care of everyone else around you except yourself. Or if you just feel like you're losing control over certain parts of your life and you want to know how do I gain control over my life and business again? 30 Apr 2018How to Create Friendships That Help You Become Your Real Self, with Lori Harder00:50:03

When I first met today’s guest Lori Harder, I never thought that she had struggled to find real friends in her life. That’s because on the outside, Lori’s life is about a perfect as they come. She has a massively successful fitness and personal development business, she sells out her 500-person conference every year and she lives in a gorgeous house in Santa Monica. Lori also has a great husband who I also know (and was a past guest on this podcast). To top it off, she basically looks like a supermodel! So it’s easy to peg Lori as someone who hasn’t struggled a day in her life, but as a listener of this podcast you already know that’s never the truth.

I am so grateful for friends like Lori; people who grow up in abusive households and who felt like they never fit in, spending much of their lives feeling worthless and unloveable. These are the people who have transformed their pain into something beautiful and are now on a mission to heal others from their pain too.

In this interview, Lori and I chat about what it was like for her growing up feeling misunderstood for the first few decades of her life. We also dive into the concepts behind her new book, A Tribe Called Bliss, which is all about finding and creating a deeply connected circle of friends. I love Lori’s surprising advice when it comes to relationship building, and I always appreciated her transparency, wisdom and humor.

22 Jun 2017My Story and How I'm Infusing My Life + Business With More Purpose00:22:25

Want to know why exactly I created this podcast? Well, it started with a breakdown about how I wasn't living in my purpose and wasn't feeling fulfilled by my work. But that's all changed. This episode shares my story and what led me to create Pursuit With Purpose.

02 Jul 2018The Secret to Discovering Which Patterns You’re Creating That are Keeping You From Your Highest Self, with Leesa Renee Hall00:55:22

Hey Everyday World Changers! Today’s guest, Leesa Renee Hall, is quite literally one of my favorite people. She’s the kind of woman who is unapologetically herself and says what’s on her mind and her heart, even if she knows that some people may get rubbed in the wrong way. As a recovering “nice girl” myself, this is something that I’ve been working on bringing into my life more too, and I’m just so inspired by how Leesa shows up in the world.

We dig really deep here, and in this conversation we talk about a unique writing practice that Leesa teaches and says is one of the best things she’s ever done for developing more self-awareness, discovering who she truly is deep down and embodying more of herself in everything she does. She knows a thing or two about writing and vulnerability, because she is the author of 7 (almost 8!) books, and more recently, has turned her attention to writing about the intersection of race, spirituality and leadership.

In this discussion she’ll help you dissect your own identity in a really meaningful way, so that you can truly see who it is you’re being in order to become who you’re really meant to be.

If this episode resonated with you, it would make my day if you could take a screenshot of you listening on your device. Post it on your Instagram feed or stories, and tag me, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know how helped you. Knowing that people like you are listening to this podcast is honestly what keeps this show going!

27 Apr 2020The Crucial Strategy That ALL Successful Entrepreneurs Use00:32:02

When I first started my business I tried all.the.freakin’.things in order to grow my audience and my income.

Creating content daily? Check.

Hosting webinars (even when I was terrified of being on video and looked like a deer in headlights)? Double check.

Having dozens of freebies in my resource library? Checkity check.

That’s fine, but I’m here to tell you that no strategy will give you the results you’re dreaming of if you haven’t implemented this one thing in your business. So listen up.

Do you know what every successful business has in common? *drumroll, please*

They solve problems.

It really isn’t revolutionary, or ground-breaking, but it is the cornerstone of every single successful business out there. Including yours.

It’s such a foundational strategy and yet many entrepreneurs skip it altogether which leads to not so share-worthy results. Don’t let this be the reason you spend years wondering why your business isn’t growing or questioning whether you’ve got what it takes to be an entrepreneur after all.

Today I want to show you how to get clear on which problem you’re solving for your audience and how to use that information to build a profitable and sustainable business that stands the test of time (and keeps your walls spaghetti-free).

Let's get started!

05 Jul 2018A Lesson on Trust That I Learned From a VERY Unlikely Source00:07:37

Ever notice how sometimes the biggest lessons we learn in life come from the most unexpected places? Well today I'll be sharing an important lesson I learned from honey bees.

04 Jun 2018The Surprising Secrets for Becoming a Happier Person, with Nataly Kogan00:56:48

I am so excited to share this episode with guest Nataly Kogan. Nataly is the founder and CEO of Happier, which is a global learning platform and app that has helped more than one million people live happier lives. Her work has been featured in hundreds of media outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Tedx Boston and more. Today she is sharing some of the top tips from her latest book, Happier Now. Nataly really brings it here and she’s got the knowledge, the stories and the attitude to really help you make a transformation in your life!

This episode inspired me deeply. I love the charisma and realistic outlook that Nataly brings to this conversation. Not to mention, she shares tons of practical tips and advice for anyone who wants to live their happiest life, right now. You’ll also hear about how she came to the US as a refugee from the Soviet Union and ended up building an incredibly successful business, but it ended up being unfulfilling to her. Now she focuses more on finding joy and purpose in her life instead of chasing achievements. Can you relate to that? I know I sure can as I’ve totally been there too.

This is one of my favorite episodes to date, and if you enjoyed it too and got something out of it, I would be so happy if you could take a screenshot of you listening to it on your device. Post it on your Instagram feed or stories, and tag me, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know how it’s resonated and helped you in your life!

26 Jun 2020Our 1-Year Anti-Racism Action Plan: How We're Going to Do Better00:40:28

The past month has felt like a pivotal turning point in the fight for racial justice, especially for Black lives. But hey, I don't have to tell you that, right? You've seen anti-racism authors topping the New York Times Bestseller lists for weeks. You saw your Instagram feed decked out in black squares for #BlackoutTuesday. And you might have even made it to a protest in your city.

But roughly one month after George Floyd's murder, my company and I are asking ourselves, what else? How do we keep this movement going after social media has moved on? While buying an anti-racism book or sharing a post on Instagram is moving in the right direction, it is decidedly not enough. This episode will outline our commitment to social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement, and will detail actionable ways that we will prioritize anti-racism moving forward. You're welcome to use this plan within your own company or for your personal use. Let's dive in!

12 May 2020How to Create the Confidence to Get Through Any Challenge00:31:36

Welcome to the Limitless Life™ Podcast. Today I’m sharing a #LimitlessCoaching call, where I privately coach an online business owner to help them move through the blocks and thoughts that are keeping them stuck. The beauty of these calls is that YOU get to be a fly on the wall as you listen to someone else’s transformation. I have a feeling it might lead to some of your own breakthroughs and insights, too.

Today I’m joined by Kate, who already has a thriving business but wants to dive even further into her success. Yet she’s noticing some familiar fears creep in that say things like: you’re not capable of running a super successful company, you’ll make a mistake and fail, and you’re not good at following through on things and finishing what you started. Can you see how all of those fears blend together to create anxiety and inaction? Can you relate to Kate’s fears in your own life? Well, I think you’ll really enjoy getting to hear from Kate on the ways that her mindset is holding herself back, where it comes from (she shares an incredible example from her childhood), and some solutions to shift the fear into confidence. And just to make sure we’re on the same page, I decided to cut out the beginning of our call for you so that you could dive straight into the juiciest part of our conversation. So, you might hear me reference earlier parts of our discussion, but fear not, the entire conversation will make sense, even without hearing those first few minutes.

Now get ready to break through, my friend. Your limitless life could be on the other side of this coaching call. Let’s jump in.

16 Apr 2020How to Create Belonging and Community (at Any Age) With Radha Agrawal00:41:05

Today’s guest is someone I find personally inspiring because she’s a serial entrepreneur, author, investor, and global community builder. In 2013, she started a company and a movement called Daybreaker, which hosts early morning, sober dance parties around the world to promote play and connection. I actually went to my first Daybreaker with some friends a few months ago -- it was a 90s themed party that started at 5 or 6 in the morning and offered drinks like coffee and green juice instead of alcohol. There was a DJ playing and tons of people who showed up to get down. But that event was far from the first for Daybreaker -- in the past 7 years, Radha’s company has hosted dance parties around the world for more than half-a-million people. And as you’ll hear in today’s episode, it started small, with a simple, but courageous idea and has grown into a global community.

Radha has also started companies like Thinx period underwear and LiveItUp, which is a text-messaged based life school. And in her book called Belong, she shares her tried-and-true methods for creating true belonging and community in the world.

In this interview, we dive into pretty much ALL the things. From Radha’s start in investment banking to hosting dance parties to ultimately creating true belonging in her life and for others. You’ll love the range of her wisdom and her inspiring words about what it means to create a limitless life. Let’s do this!

18 Sep 2017How to Attract Anything You Want Into Your Life (With Deepak Chopra)00:23:26

I’m honored to share that today’s guest is Deepak Chopra, who is a world-renowned spiritual leader, speaker and best-selling author! He is a pioneer in personal transformation and holistic wellbeing, and today he’s coming to talk about The Law of Attraction and how our thoughts affect our reality.

Deepak is also going to be sharing about his latest book, called Home: Where Everyone Is Welcome, which is a collection of songs and poems inspired by American immigrants. Even though this interview is shorter than the usual episodes of this podcast, there’s a lot to take away from this conversation!

26 Mar 2018Being Boss: How to Create a Life and Business on Your Own Terms, With Emily Thompson00:46:04

I spent a long time watching and admiring today’s guest, Emily Thompson, from afar. You probably know her from her incredibly popular podcast and brand that she co-leads, called Being Boss. What I love about Emily is that she’s able to combine practical business skills with a sense of spirituality and femininity.

Emily is the founder of Indie Shopograhy, where she helps creative entrepreneurs run online businesses. She also co-hosts the Being Boss podcast for creative entrepreneurs, which has over 3 million downloads! Due to the success of her podcast, she recently co-wrote her first book, Being Boss: Take Control of Your Work and Live Life on Your Own Terms.

During today’s episode, we dive really deep into what you can find inside of Emily’s book, including her magical way of setting goals. She also talks about the transformative daily routines that she uses in her life and what it really looks like to live life on your own terms – and how to make it happen!

24 Nov 2020Choosing Wholeness Instead of Self Abandonment00:46:36

Do you ever sense that there’s an inner battle between who you truly are and this perfect version of you that you’ve been conditioned to show up as in the world? Maybe inside you feel creative, expressive, and free. But, on the outside, you’ve had to silence that “messy” part to present a more professional you to be accepted by others.

Somewhere along the way, you were taught you had to choose: will I be creative or will I be organized? Will I be laid back or will I be professional? Somewhere, that divide happened and you felt you couldn’t be this AND that. But, the truth is, in this grey area, is you. All of you. The fullness of you.

In this coaching episode, I explore this topic with Beth - a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion educator who recently decided to pivot her business from working with larger corporations to working with smaller, more creative businesses. But, once she made this decision, even more corporate opportunities came knocking at her door, which left her wondering if she’d made the right choice. Is the Universe leading her away from her newly discovered creative self and back to the corporate version? Together, we discover just how living in the grey area can be an integration of both versions of herself.

Let’s dive in.

19 Jan 2021Your Sexual Energy is the Gateway to Freedom, with Lacey Haynes00:57:42

I’ve been on a personal journey learning more about my sexual energy, and the ways it’s been repressed, in an effort to deeply connect with myself even more.

What I’ve learned is that there is so much more than physical acts when it comes to sexuality and sensuality. It’s really about the energy we have within us. If we’re closed-off or out of balance with that energy, it can actually hold us back from feeling free to live fully in who we are.

What would it mean for you to learn to fully embrace and love every part of you? How much could you learn by reconnecting with the sides of yourself you deny?

Today’s guest is here to guide you towards reclaiming your sexual power and - as a result - power in every other area of your life.

Lacey Haynes is the founder of School of Whole, an amazing feminine empowerment and self-development program, and the co-founder of Everybody Elevated, which has enriched the sexual experience and lives of over a quarter of a million people. For the last decade, she has been committed to teaching women how to lovingly embrace their bodies, and become the fullest, boldest, truest version of themselves.

If you’re ready to reconnect to the pieces of you that you haven’t been embracing and begin to embody what’s true to you, get ready and let’s dive on in.

On the introversion-extroversion scale, I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle of the two options. Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert, she’ll show you how to use your unique personality and talents as a superpower to get more publicity for your message, more connections in your industry and more power to impact millions of people!

I got so much personally out of this interview, and I know that you are going to as well.

19 Feb 20181% Better Everyday: How to Create Life-Changing Habits You'll Actually Stick To, With James Clear00:56:43

Back when I was a web designer, I encountered today’s guest in a unique way. A client sent me some sites that he liked, and one of them was the minimalist home belonging to this guest, James Clear.

Last year I got to hear James speak at a conference we were both presenting at, and he blew me away! Not only is he an engaging speaker, but he really backs up everything he says with research studies and interesting stories. He’s a master at teaching others about productivity and habits, and I’m so thrilled to be sharing him with you in this episode that is both actionable, and entertaining.

In today’s interview we talk about his philosophy of getting just 1% better every day, how to be more productive and why research shows that it’s better to create often than to strive for perfection. I know you are going to love this interview and it’s going to change so much for you (in a positive way)!

14 Apr 2020My Honest + Raw Story About Why I'm Starting This New Podcast00:30:04

Hey there, podcast fam! After a 2-year break and I am so excited to be back. After my last podcast episode with you in July of 2018, I really wasn't sure that this day would ever come.

But so much has changed since then; I took a 6-month sabbatical from my business and social media, I recovered from burnout, I discovered truths about myself and how I was showing up for my life that allowed me to work through and heal old limiting beliefs.

And now I want to know....have you ever asked yourself what it would look like to live a Limitless Life? What that would even mean for you, and what would need to change for it to be possible?

I learned that I had been collecting all of my self-worth from achievements and applause- from what I was doing instead of who I was being… and this changed my life dramatically.

I went from wanting to walk away from my business entirely to showing back up for it in a whole new way I never dreamed possible, which now leads me here- with you.

In this episode, I’m sharing my story of getting to a place where I wanted to walk away from it all, to a place where I realized I had so much more to give (just in an entirely different way than I’d imagined).

This new iteration of my podcast, the Limitless Life Podcast, is all about teaching you that the only limits standing in your way are the ones you’ve placed on yourself, and it’s about helping you break through them to live the life you were always worthy of.

So, welcome back. I’m so happy you’re here… I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you.

07 May 2020The Powerful Lessons She Learned From Visiting Every Single Country, with Jessica Nabongo01:01:51

You know when you connect with someone and you just GET each other? Well, that’s how I felt while chatting with Jessica. As a travel lover myself, I was super eager to chat with her and just learn more about her travels. Like, what did she learn from visiting every country on the planet? How did it feel as a single woman? And why is it particularly significant that she did it as the first black woman in history? Don’t you worry, we get into ALL of that in today’s episode!

But first, in case you’re unfamiliar with Jessica’s story, she’s a Detroit-born Ugandan-American who is on a mission to make the online travel space more inclusive. In addition to sharing her travels online, she’s also the founder of Jet Black, a boutique luxury travel firm, and The Catch, which features physical goods that Jessica acquired during her global adventures.

As you’ll discover in today’s conversation, she’s a firm believer in spreading cultural awareness and in helping people to think more positively about other cultures and people you may encounter. We had a great back-and-forth discussion in this episode, and I’m excited for you to listen. This woman has a lot of wisdom to share and I seriously appreciate her limitless outlook on the world. If you want to live a more unstoppable, adventurous, and positive life, then this episode is for you. Let’s do this!

09 Jul 2018How to Recover From Burnout and Infuse More Joy and Creativity Back Into Your Work, with Sunny Lenarduzzi00:47:26

Hey Everyday World Changers! If you have ever felt burnt out from work or life, and you’re unsure of how to get your creativity and joy back, then this episode is for you. Today I’m chatting with YouTube sensation Sunny Lenarduzzi, who built a massively successful 7-figure business and an audience of hundreds of thousands of people.

As you’ll hear, what a lot of people don’t tell you about success, and what we’re digging deep in today, is that achieving some kind of success in any area of life can lead to more pressure, more anxiety and a whole lot of fear. What happens when you combine all of these things together? It can lead to burnout and a total lack of creativity, and in Sunny’s case, an anxiety attack that put her in the hospital.

If something you once loved doing now feels like a chore and you’re struggling to get your mojo back, then you’ll want to hear what Sunny has to say in this episode. She is extremely open about her struggles and triumphs, and you will enjoy the fun, free flowing conversation that we have about success, burnout and what it really takes to create a purpose-driven and joyful life. I especially love the activity that Sunny shares with us at the very end of the episode, which I know will help you feel even more fulfilled and proud of yourself for the work that you do every single day.

If this episode resonated with you, it would make my day if you could take a screenshot of you listening on your device. Post it on your Instagram feed or stories, and tag me, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know how helped you. Knowing that people like you are listening to this podcast is honestly what keeps this show going!

09 Jul 2020Your Dream Life is on the Other Side of Your Scarcity Mindset00:57:12

Welcome back to Limitless Life™! I adore all of the coaching episodes I do on this podcast, but it’s really helpful when I know the person who I’m coaching. It makes it so much easier to go deeper faster, and today’s guest is somebody who I’ve gotten to know pretty darn well. Beck is a member of my Level I Mastermind and I’ve gotten to know her in person (even hugging her pre-Covid!), as well as interacting with her often on our group calls.

This episode is juicy because we dive into the heart of what is going on in Beck’s life that brought her to this coaching call. She has a company that has made huge strides and achieved things she didn’t think was even possible just a few months ago, but she’s noticing a scarcity mindset creeping in. You’ll hear how Beck has great weeks with a lot of sales, and then some weeks with nothing, so she is wondering how she can feel better about her entrepreneurial journey.

We talk about scarcity, how our partners influence our business, the evidence we can look for to determine if we’re successful or not (and what “success” even means), and so much more. Spoiler alert, but business can be easy, simple and beautiful, and Beck brings up a lot of universal themes in this call that I’m sure you can relate to as well.

19 Mar 2018How to Access Your Body's Inner Wisdom, With Geneen Roth00:48:39

I had the honor of meeting today’s guest at an event in New York, and I was so blown away by her loving presence and the exercises she had us do to help us feel more connected to ourselves and to quiet our self-doubt and inner criticism. Geneen Roth is the author of Women Food and Good, which spent 34 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list, with 18 of those weeks at number one! She’s authored 9 other books, taught workshops with thousands of people and has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, 20/20, The Today Show, Good Morning America and The View. In this episode we talk about how she came up with her latest book, This Messy Magnificent Life. After years of teaching workshops on weight, food and money, Geneen realized there was a connection between those issues and she knew a way to solve them all together. Out of her own past struggles with feeling as if she would never fit into her own skin, much less into the world around her, Geneen tackles how we can move beyond our pasts and build a life that reflects who we really are. Geneen has decades of wisdom to share, which is perfect for anyone who wants to shed whatever is holding them back and step into who they are truly meant to be.

21 Jul 2020How to Replace the Energy of Competition With Collaboration00:56:36

We’ve got another coaching episode for you today featuring one of my mastermind members, Kate. Kate is a phenomenal woman and therapist who helps new moms navigate motherhood and all the things that come with it. We dig really deep in this conversation, going back to her early days when she adopted certain stories about success (and herself) that is now holding her back in her business.

If you’ve created the story that success needs to be really hard work, or if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to ask for help, or if you’ve felt the need to be “perfect” in order to be successful, then you will probably resonate with Kate’s journey. There is a lot of juicy stuff that comes out of today’s coaching call, and I can’t wait for you to hear all of it. I hope it helps you realize how business can be easier, more fun, more collaborative, and less complex!

25 Sep 2017The Best Steps to Take When Starting Your Own Business00:52:43

Today’s amazing guest is Dorie Clark, who’s joining us to share her advice on how to start your own business. Dorie is unlike most people as she started college at age 14 and graduated at 18, and then went on to hold a bunch of different positions such as non-profit executive, political campaign spokeswoman and even documentary filmmaker!

For the past decade, Dorie’s been running her own marketing and consulting business, and she’s also authored several books including Stand Out (which was named the #1 leadership book of 2015 by Inc.), Reinventing You and her latest book, Entrepreneurial You.

In this conversation, Dorie and I talk about things like what it was like growing up as an LGBT person, how she reinvented herself with so many different careers and why you’re probably overthinking your first business. She also reveals the steps and tactics to take if you want to start your own company!

28 May 2018How to Quit Your Job and Create a Business That Supports the Lifestyle You Actually Want to Live, with James Schramko00:55:29

Although I am an entrepreneur and I do some business coaching, I didn’t want this podcast to be about giving you tons of business advice. If you know my story, which I share more of in Episode 1, then you know how I’m a big proponent of prioritizing your personal growth and happiness first and that money and status will never be enough. So you know that when I bring an entrepreneur on the show, he or she is a big deal to me. Today’s guest, James Schramko, is that kind of person.

James is an online business coach who’s helped over 2,000 of his students create and maintain 6, 7 and 8-figure businesses and before running his own company, he gave up a multiple 6-figure income to strike out on his own. James is all about creating a business that supports the lifestyle that he wants to live, instead of working himself into the ground to make more money. He’s found ways to automate his income and create recurring income streams so that he now has more time to do whatever he wants.

In this episode James shares how he exited his corporate career and the way he was able to build his business while working a full-time job (while having a family of several kids)! He’s literally been able to build a company around the mentality, “Work Less, Make More.” If finding balance is important to you, then you’ll want to listen to this conversation with James Schramko.

28 May 2020What to Do When Your Family Holds You Back From Playing Bigger00:52:48

Hey, Limitless Life™ family!

So I gotta be honest, today's coaching call might be one of my favorites. Maybe it's because I know today's coachee on a more personal level as someone in my mastermind. Over the past few months, I've been able to really see her blossom even more into her beautiful, bold self as a business owner, a mom, a woman, all the things. She's just an incredible person, and her name is Kelli.

Kelli was noticing that this fear kept creeping up that was holding her back, and she wanted to get some more support around how to move past this once and for all. This fear that was coming up, as you'll discover in today's coaching call, is that she would get tons of amazing comments from people on social media. Then every once in a while, Kelli would get a comment from somebody who she'd never even heard of telling her that she was a fraud or questioning whether what she's selling is a scam.

Often these are complete strangers on the internet who don't know her at all, and they're mixed in with tons of comments from people who absolutely love her work. But she was really letting these comments get to her head. Kelli revealed to me that in her family dynamic growing up, she got a lot of messages about needing to look like you have it all together. Needing to look perfect to everyone else out there, to not shine too brightly, to not take up too much space.

So as we navigate through today's coaching conversation, you'll get a glimpse into how your family dynamics and programming growing up (and even to this day) might be affecting your results in your business, causing you to hold yourself back in a really tragic way.

We create some solutions in today's episode so that you don't have to do that anymore. So that you can actually remove the programming and the conditioning that you learned a long, long time ago. So that you can really let yourself be seen for the imperfect but whole person that you are.

Stay tuned because this conversation is going to change you.

Let's dive in.

20 Jul 2021How to Embrace Ease & Flow in Your Life with Zakia Haughton00:54:01

Have you ever felt bad about feeling bad?

We often feel shame for feeling anything negative. We think, “If I’m not happy, that means something is wrong with me.”

The truth is there’s no way to avoid negative feelings in life, but there are some things you can do to help yourself understand them and even embrace them.

In this episode I’m joined by Zakia Haughton, CEO and business systems extraordinaire, to talk about how getting truly in touch with your feelings can make everything in your life flow with more ease.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • How Zakia got to the place of embracing ease and flow in her own life, and why she says it’s about so much more than balance [1:10]

  • Why she says that experimentation and curiosity has played a key role in her personal journey [5:12]

  • The ways we can use nature to guide us through our “seasons” [10:41]

  • Specific practices Zakia uses to break feelings of discomfort, and an experience she had that showed her that no feeling is permanent [23:55]

  • Why she has always had issues with the concept of “perfection” [40:07]

  • A powerful gift that Zakia has been giving herself lately, and why she realized this needed to happen [45:20]

  • A final reminder on why we shouldn’t be resisting our feelings when they arise [48:22] Zakia’s

18 Jun 2018How Meditation and Mindfulness Can Help You Add More REAL Love and Happiness to Your Life, with Sharon Salzberg00:49:09

When I started learning about meditation a couple of years ago, today’s guest was a name I kept hearing over, and over, and over again. Sharon Salzberg is one of the most prominent figures in the field on meditation and a world-renowned teacher, as well as a New York Times bestselling author with 10 books. Sharon has played a crucial role in bringing mediation and mindfulness practices to the West and into mainstream culture since 1974. My favorite thing about Sharon is her focus on love, and how meditation can help us love more deeply and more often for both ourselves and everyone else in our lives.

In this interview we talk about Sharon’s traumatic past, which led her to look for tools to help her heal and eventually led her to mediation. We also talk about what mindfulness even is and why most people who think they’re bad at mediation are wrong. Of course, she shares how to do it the right way and if you stick around until the end of this episode, you’ll even get to hear Sharon lead us in an exclusive loving-kindness meditation. This will add more peace, joy and love to your day – in a matter of just minutes.

If this episode resonated with you, it would make my day if you could take a screenshot of you listening on your device. Post it on your Instagram feed or stories, and tag me, @melyssa_griffin, and let me know how helped you. Knowing that people like you are listening to this podcast is honestly what keeps this show going!

14 Feb 2018Everything is Figureoutable, With Marie Forleo01:01:44

Welcome back, Pursuit With Purpose family! I think the first time I heard of today’s guest was way back before I started my business, which was honestly one of the lowest points of my life. I felt unhappy, unappreciated and very stuck in the direction of my career. After starting my blog in 2013, I began looking for advice from entrepreneurs and smart people who could lift me out of the funk I was in. Marie Forleo ended up being exactly that person for me.

I’ve always admired how Marie was able to blend her silly and funny sense of humor with spiritually sound life and business advice. Getting to interview her is a huge honor for me, and she does not disappoint in today’s interview.

In this episode we talk about how her parents influenced the trajectory of her life, how you can combine your passions into a career and her secrets for a successful life and business. This is one of my all-time favorite interviews and Marie has tons of smart advice and incredible stories to share. I know you’re going to love it too!

Chris Guillebeau is the kind of person who becomes your instant friend, and during this conversation we cover a lot of very interesting topics.

We talk about how he has travelled to every single country (before his 35th birthday!), and we also look at how he’s able to host an enormous conference for thousands of people every year while still balancing his energy as an introvert. I think you’ll agree that Chris is the type of person who inspires you to do and become more, and to chase your dreams – no matter what. Chris has also just released a new book called Side Hustle, which will help you create a new source of income in just 27 days, and he will be breaking down some of his side hustle strategies to help you create more income in your life, even if you’re got a full-time job!

Now if you’re ready to expand your life and propel yourself to new and beautiful experiences, you will love everything that Chris shares in this fun and enlightening conversation.

13 Apr 2021Self-Love Magic with Nikia Phoenix00:52:36

Have you ever thought about the difference between self-care and self-love?

Usually, we confuse the two. We think self-love looks like snuggling under the covers with a good book, taking a bubble bath, putting on a face mask. But really… that’s how we care for ourselves. Self-love is something so much deeper.

My friend Nikia Phoenix and I discussed it on this week’s episode, and I know her perspective is going to blow your mind. Nikia is a model, writer, dream instigator, the founder of Black Girl Beautiful, and an amazing advocate for self-love. She joined me on this episode to talk about what self-love is to her, how her own self-love journey started, and the methods she uses to tap into honoring her whole truth.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • What self-love means to Nikia and how she expresses it to the world [1:03]
  • The way that protecting yourself first gives you space to be able to protect others [6:19]
  • Her thoughts on cultivating honesty in relationships with the people around you [9:47]
  • What started Nikia on this journey to self-love and grew her desire to share it with others [18:18]
  • How you can begin to have real and honest conversations with no expectations [25:27]
  • How Nikia uses healing modalities as a self-love practice, and what you can do to start incorporating them into your own life [33:44]
  • What magic can happen when you do the work of love and service [44:18]

Our conversation reminded me of what’s possible when we intentionally honor our wholeness in the ways we practice self-love. Instead of seeking joy or fulfillment in the things that can’t provide it, taking time to practice self-love helps us see they were in us all along. :)

11 May 2021How to ACTUALLY Do the Work with Dr. Nicole LePera00:55:05

Do you ever feel like no matter how much “work” you do on yourself, you still wind up stuck in the same patterns?

Maybe you’ve read all the books, attended countless therapy sessions and done a lot of introspection — and I mean, a LOT — but the changes you want to make just aren’t happening. Maybe you feel like you know all the answers, but you can’t get out of the start and stop cycle you’re caught up in.

If you’ve ever felt this way… you’re not alone.

In this episode I’m joined by Dr. Nicole LePera, author, psychologist, and creator of the popular Instagram account @the.holistic.psychologist, where she shares her journey of inner healing and how we can all start to make real change in our lives.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Nicole often found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional psychotherapy. She wanted more for her patients—and herself— so she began developing a united philosophy of mental, physical and spiritual health that equips people with the tools necessary to heal themselves. She shares the life-changing results she discovered along her holistic psychology journey to nearly 4 million “self-healers” on Instagram, through her programs and with her new book “How to Do the Work”.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • Why Nicole made the shift from being a therapist to creating her own protocol for healing [1:09]
  • The first steps for taking action to stop living life on repeat [3:34]
  • What she means when she says that we need to truly embody change for it to work [5:51]
  • What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and why it’s so important to be aware of how our feelings live in our bodies [7:39]
  • What’s really happening with our feelings when we’re overwhelmed [15:13]
  • How we can start to use breathwork and other techniques to reconnect with ourselves and make sustainable changes in our lives [17:41]
  • The impact of not being fully authentic and honest with our own self, and Nicole’s personal journey demonstrating this [33:19]
  • Why putting yourself out there and presenting yourself to the world as an entrepreneur can bring up so many emotions [36:35]
  • What to keep in mind about feedback and subjective interpretations of our work [38:58]
  • How Nicole started considering herself and not just others, and the way this helped her healing process [45:22]

17 Nov 2020Letting Go of Who You “Should” Be for an Unapologetic You00:37:48

There are so many experiences throughout life that can slowly (and quietly) build a strong system of beliefs that drives your thoughts, actions, and feelings… without you even realizing it. Thoughts like, “What if it’s not good enough? What if I mess up? What will they think about me?”

But what if you could reprogram those beliefs? What if you could open yourself up to experiencing ALL you are meant to because nothing would stand in your way?

To me, that sounds like freedom. Freedom to be everything you were created to be.

As someone who spent a lot of time in my life trying to do what felt “expected” (saying the right things, wearing the right clothing, etc.), I can tell you that deciding to replace beliefs that don’t serve you with the truths that bring personal freedom allows you to be unapologetically you and it changes everything.

That’s why I’m so excited to share with you this conversation with Jessica on uncovering the roots of beliefs that keep us from stepping into our fullest potential.

Let’s dive in.

14 Apr 2020Let Go of the Fear of What Other People Will Think00:46:29

Today, I’m sharing a #LimitlessCoaching call, where I privately coach an online business owner to help them move through the blocks and thoughts that are keeping them stuck. The beauty of these calls is that YOU get to be a fly on the wall as you listen to someone else’s transformation. I have a feeling it might lead to some of your own breakthroughs and insights, too.

The beauty of listening to a coaching call like this is that soo many of the fears and insecurities that other people go through are entirely universal. So, even if someone’s situation is different, the mindset advice is often the same. And I think you’ll find that this is profoundly true when you listen to this conversation with Katie. Coincidentally, Katie has a relatively new business, where she does mindset and mindfulness coaching for creative entrepreneurs. But Katie is noticing something: she’s afraid of other people’s opinions and what they’ll think about her for playing bigger. She wants to speak on stages, host online classes, and ultimately put herself out there in a larger way. But she’s created stories around what people might say about her for owning her power, especially as a coach. And as you listen, you might be surprised by how many people’s opinions she’s actually afraid of. I absolutely loved this conversation -- it’s full of wisdom for anyone who has felt the fear of being seen and judged for showing up as your fullest self. And if you’ve ever felt afraid or guilty for wanting MORE out of life, then get ready to flip that entire concept on its head.

Now get ready to break through, my friend. Your limitless life could be on the other side of this coaching call. Let’s jump in.

24 Sep 2020How to Use Your Menstrual Cycle to Plan Your Life00:53:10

Today on Limitless Life™, I sat down with the amazing Kate Northrup to talk about how doing less actually produces better work. Kate is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, and mom, and recently wrote a book called "Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women". This episode we get deep into talking about women's menstrual cycles, and how they can help dictate when you should be doing certain tasks in your business. We also talk about how to feel like you're not being enough when doing less. This is something that I can deeply relate to. Ever since I was 15, I was one of the biggest "doers" you've ever met. An emotion I didn't want to feel? I started a club at school. A fear of being unworthy? I started a company. Sound familiar?

Of course, none of this was conscious. I convinced myself that this was just who I was -- a high achiever. A leader. It took over a decade to finally realize that I was using achievement to mask the fear that always simmered just below the surface "maybe all this doing is just covering up my fear of truly being".

In this episode, Kate will help you bust through the fears of what happens when you truly rest, and how to reframe previous views on busyness and productivity. I am so excited to hear your takeaways from Kate!

16 Jul 2020How to Bounce Back When You're Burning Out00:40:01

On this episode I’m talking about burnout, and if you know my story you’ve heard how it was a significant turning point in my life as an entrepreneur, and human. I went through this period of burnout about two years ago, where I took a full 6 months away from my company. That feeling had been building for quite some time before I took my sabbatical, resulting in serious physical manifestations for me.

This topic of burnout is not only really important to me, it’s something that I hear about so often from the people that I work with, which is why I felt that I really needed to dedicate an episode of the podcast to talking about it.

Today I am going to move you through a three-pronged process to bounce back from burnout by becoming aware, aligned and then taking action! Are you ready?

08 Jun 2021The Sacred Power of Cacao with Christine Hernandez00:41:05

CHOCOLATE! It’s one of the most popular sweet treats all over the world — And I’d be surprised if you said you didn’t love to enjoy it from time to time… I know I do!

18 May 2021How Uncovering Your Inner Child Can Transform Your Relationships with Matt Cama00:59:19

Are you ready to meet your inner child?

More importantly… Do you know who they are and why they matter?

Inside all of us there’s an inner child that was once wounded. And that inner child can have some pretty big effects on who we are and how we function.

Inner child work, also referred to as inner child healing, is a way to address our needs that haven't been met as children and heal the attachment wounds we formed. When you do inner child work, you become open to — and aware of — an entirely new world of possibilities for yourself.

In this week's episode I’m joined by speaker, coach, and entrepreneur Matt Cama to take a look at why understanding your inner child is so important and discuss how you can begin healing your inner world so you can experience emotional freedom in your life.

In this episode you’ll hear:

Why having empathy for ourselves and others is the foundation for the entire healing process [4:15] Who our inner child is, and two of the most powerful questions Matt asks to help. uncover it [6:48] Why he focuses on the inside game rather than the external to uncover patterns showing up in his clients’ relationships [14:41] What happens to our external world when we do the necessary inside work first [18:02] Why Matt feels so strongly that playing and having joy is everything in life and business [20:49] The key things from our childhood that are impacting and influencing our current relationship template [26:58] His process for repairing and loving parts of himself that he’s discovered through the inner work he’s done [34:09] Ways to get the courage to move from awareness to taking action [41:02] A recent relationship check-in that Matt had with his partner, and the critical lessons that he was reminded of from doing this exercise [48:56]

08 May 2018How to Stop Listening to Your Inner Critic + Start Playing BIG in Your Life, with Tara Mohr00:51:33

A few months ago someone on my team sent me a message saying that she had just read an absolutely amazing book called Playing Big, by a woman named Tara Mohr. Now I had never heard of Tara, but I’m always looking for new book suggestions, so I went straight to Amazon to purchase her book. Not only is it well-written and eloquent, but it is fascinating and empowering, like the author knew exactly how I was holding myself back and what I needed to do to get rid of my limiting beliefs and play bigger in life.

Tara Mohr is an expert on women’s leadership and well-being, as well as being an author, educator and certified coach. Her book Playing Big was named a “Best Book of the Year” by Apple iBooks. Tara is also the creator of the Playing Big Leadership Program for Women, and her work has been featured on The Today Show and in publications such as The New York Times. She’s worked with major corporations like Google and Starbucks on leadership initiatives and her Playing Big concepts have also been incorporated into middle and high schools in the United States and United Kingdom to support girl’s leadership development.

During the episode we talk about things like how to access your wisest inner mentor, the ways that journaling can help you become your biggest self, how to update your beliefs so criticism just bounces right off of you, and so much more.

05 May 2020How to Let Go of the Status Quo to Live the Life You Were Meant For00:50:15

Have you ever felt like you were meant for MORE? Well, “more” often means that we have to go against the status quo in order to have it. That’s because the status quo is designed to keep us small -- to shove us into a box that society has deemed as acceptable. If you choose to follow the status quo, you’re promised some unspoken perks, like friendship, a comfortable life, and approval from other people. But if you’re listening right now, it’s probably because you’re witnessing the ways that the status quo keeps you from the life you dream of living, and you’ve decided that you want MORE, even if you have to go against the grain to get it.

Well, today I’m coaching Chelsi. Chelsi is a student in some of my online business courses, and through her coaching, podcast, and blog posts, she helps work-from-home moms to simplify their busy lives and let go of the things they “should” do so that they can live life on their own terms.

And coincidentally, that’s pretty much the gist of our coaching call, too. So, if you’ve ever felt like there’s a level of your potential that’s untapped, or that you’re clinging to the status quo when you KNOW you have more to offer, or that you’re waiting for someone else to choose you or give you permission to play bigger...then listen up, because this episode is for you. Your limitless life could be on the other side of this coaching call. Let’s jump in.

14 May 2020How to Get Rid of "The Shoulds" to Live Your Truth00:26:03

The ethos of the Limitless Life™ podcast is all about doing business your way, instead of following the crowd. I know, from personal experience, that sometimes we’re so conditioned to follow instead of lead that we’re not even sure what our own way looks like. Today’s episode is all about getting into alignment with who you truly are, and living in a way that serves you and your dream to its fullest potential. I can't wait for you to listen!

08 Sep 2020My Investment Journey00:41:56

If you listened to last week’s episode, you heard Tiffany Aliche (who is known as “The Budgetnista”) share her wisdom how to invest your money, build wealth and why it’s so important to empower and education women with their finances. I thought it would be fun to continue to conversation today by sharing with you my story with my finances and investing, as it’s been an ongoing journey for me too to learn more about these critical topics.

My journey really began about 4 years ago, and the reason I waited so long to start investing was because to be honest it all just seem so complicated. This episode is a deep dive into all of the things that I’ve done to educate myself since then – the good, the bad and the ugly! Please note that I’m not a financial expert and this episode is just about sharing my personal experiences, but hopefully the information I talk about here can help you on your own journey to build wealth!

23 Jun 2020What to Do When You Put Everyone Else’s Needs Before Your Own00:52:18

When I do coaching calls, I tend to notice that people will come to me with a specific problem that they think is holding them back. However, through some talking and coaching, it often ends up being something totally different that is holding them back (which I think is fascinating). Today’s coaching call with Ali is an example of this, and I wanted to share our conversation with you in this episode.

Ali came to me believing that she was having a hard time staying driven, especially during the pandemic and time in isolation. She really just wanted to connect more to the motivated and productive side of herself. What’s interesting is that as we got into our conversation, we found out it really wasn’t about this at all. Ali has the motivation, but she needed something that I think is going to be so relatable to listeners of this podcast.

You’ll hear us talk about what it feels like to ask for support, and why it’s so much more comfortable to take care of everyone else around you instead of doing this. We dig deep and get to the core of this issue for Ali, and we come up with a plan so that she can live more in alignment with her values, instead of her fears.

15 Sep 2020How to Use Human Design as an Entrepreneur with Jasmine from Moondust00:59:20

Have you ever come across somebody whose work just speaks to you on a soul level, and you feel like everything they say and teach resonates with you? That’s what happened for me when I found the work of today’s guest. Jasmine from Moondust Our Mother is an energy healer and Human Design expert and she fuses spirituality with Human Design, with talking about money (which happen to be some of my favorite things to talk about).

Human Design is something that you’ll learn all about today, and I’ve used it to help me understand myself and my team, as it’s a great tool for entrepreneurs. If you haven’t gotten your Human Design chart I recommend that you start there (the link to one is in the show notes!) and I’m going to be going more in-depth on this topic next week in my solo episode. But today, you’ll get to learn the foundations from Jasmine, as well as her thoughts on abundance, money, “hustle” and a whole lot more!

30 Oct 2017How to Finally Take Off the Mask That's Been Hiding Your True Self00:49:44

Today’s guest is a personal mentor of mine and someone that I am so deeply inspired by. You’ve probably heard of Lewis Howes before, but if you haven’t, you need to know who this guy is! Lewis Howes is a New York Times best-selling author, a lifestyle entrepreneur and a keynote speaker. He hosts the top rated podcast, The School of Greatness, which has over 35 million downloads since it began airing in 2013! Lewis has been featured on The Ellen Show and in the New York Times, Forbes and many more places. Former President Obama even recognized Lewis as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs in the country under the age of 30. In this interview we talk about the subject of his latest book, The Mask of Masculinity, and the different masks that men wear today. We also discuss what it feels like to take off these masks and how to get men to embrace vulnerability. So whether you’re a woman looking to better understand the men in your life, or a man who wants to understand the masks that hold you back, this interview is for you.

06 Apr 2021How to Thrive as a Highly Sensitive Person with Brooke Nielsen01:11:23

Has anyone ever told you that you’re “too sensitive” or to “stop overthinking everything,” particularly by people who strike you as a little bit too insensitive or who you believe might benefit from some more thinking?

Well, you may be what is known as a “highly sensitive person,” or HSP.

Being HSP doesn’t mean you have a diagnosable condition, it’s a personality trait shared by just 20% of the population that involves increased responsiveness to both positive and negative influences. HSPs process experiences, thoughts, and feelings more deeply than non-HSPs — and with all that processing, overwhelm can happen more easily.

We can all feel overstimulated from time to time, but for HSPs it's a way of life. And sometimes that can feel lonely, frustrating, and full of shame.

... But it doesn't have to!

In this episode Brooke Nielsen, therapist, writer, speaker and founder of the Therapeutic Center for Highly Sensitive People, discusses what it means to be a HSP and how to appreciate the unique strengths that come along with this trait.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • What is an “HSP” and how many people are born with this genetic trait [3:58]

  • How Brooke is destigmatizing the negativity around being an HSP, and why it’s feels so liberating for her to do this [10:11]

  • The way she coped with her emotions at a younger age and what was the impact of trying to do this [11:16]

  • Her thoughts on male ESPs and how each society views them differently [14:12]

  • What trauma really is, and the role that it plays in the lives of HSPs [22:01]
  •
Why just focusing on your mindset and positive thinking isn’t enough to overcome trauma [35:44]

  • What research shows about people having compassion for others [41:01]
  • Best practices for setting energetic boundaries as an HSP [49:43]
  • What to be aware of an HSP in a relationship, and how to educate your partner in the right way [59:16]
  • Tips for running a business as an HSP [64:15]

Whether you’re a Highly Sensitive Person or think you might know someone who is, you’ll leave this episode with a deeper understanding of your emotions, empathy and the power that comes from understanding yourself. It's a really good one!

23 Jul 2020How to Feel Like "You" Again When You're Triggered or Upset00:24:28

Today’s topic is something I wish I knew about years ago. I remember feeling upset about something, triggered, emotional or jealous, and I just didn’t know how to come back to myself. I would hope time would make me feel better, which it did, but I wish I had known how to feel right and better, sooner. So this episode is dedicated to helping you feel better with some practices that are designed to help you come back to yourself when you’re feeling upset about something. I think that this episode should be required listening for pretty much everyone on the planet!

02 Mar 2021How to Embody Self Love, with Koya Webb01:02:34

I think we’ve got something twisted when it comes to self love.

Self love isn’t face masks or shopping sprees (though it can be!). It’s much, much deeper than that.

Self love is…

...Communicating and upholding your boundaries with the people in your life (yes, even if it means they’ll be upset with you or leave).

...Being honest about your needs, both with others and with yourself.

...Gaining awareness around your fears and limiting beliefs so that you can do the work to heal.

...Following your aligned path, even if people judge you or don’t understand.

Self love is a lot less about face masks and a lot more about removing the masks you wear that hide your true essence.

So how do you go about creating self awareness so that you can embody self love? What practices will help bring you back to your center so you can live life from a place of alignment and wholeness?

This is just what my friend, Koya Webb, and I are discussing on this episode of Limitless Life™.

Koya is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, celebrity holistic health coach, author, speaker, and vegan activist whose core mission is to promote daily self-care, oneness and eco friendly living to combat some of the some of the world’s biggest challenges including mental health, social injustices and global warming.

In this episode, Koya shares how…

  • Self-love isn’t a destination; it’s a journey on which you need to be gentle with yourself and acknowledge it takes practice
  • Fear is feedback that when used to tune into what we need, it shifts our energy back to love
  • Freedom is found when we show up and love without expectation
  • When you come from a place of wholeness, you can give so much more fully to every relationship
  • Specific ways you can find daily self-love within yourself

It might feel easy to go through each day and use distractions to cover up or bury how we feel. But if you take time to ask yourself what you really need, you can start to come home to yourself, and use that inner love to create lasting change and love in the world around you.

Bottom line: love is the root of who we are and why we’re here.

It’s the energy that weaves us all together, so we’ve got to start giving it the attention it deserves.

06 Nov 2017How to Easily Stick to Your Habits and Routines by Understanding + Utilizing Your Personality Type00:36:28

Several years ago when I was starting my business, I bought a booked called The Happiness Project that changed my life in a very meaningful way. The book has become an absolute sensation because of how it talks about happiness and routines in a way that feels personal, and today’s guest is the author, Gretchen Rubin.

Gretchen has authored several books since then including the New York Times best sellers Better Than Before and Happier at Home. She also co-hosts an award-winning weekly podcast with her sister Elizabeth, called Happier with Gretchen Rubin. Fast Company added Gretchen to their list of most creative people in business and she’s a member of Oprah’s coveted “SuperSoul 100.”

In this episode we’re talking about her latest book, The Four Tendencies. During her research in writing the book she found that people tend to belong to one of four tendencies, or personality types, when following habits and sticking to routines. As you’ll hear, each tendency excels at habits in a different way and knowing your tendency can help you live a more joyful and consistent life.

09 Oct 2017How to Become the Most Outgoing and Charismatic Version of Yourself (Yes, Even If You’re Shy and Socially Awkward)00:36:03

I’m super excited for this episode with Jordan Harbinger, a social dynamics expert who’s literally teaching people how to remove the mask of shyness in order to be more outgoing, charismatic and better at communicating with others.

Jordan is the creator of the top-50 wildly popular podcast Art of Charm, which he’s been hosting now for over a decade! His company holds boot camps and training sessions for companies and individuals that want to learn the elements of emotional intelligence that will help them to become more persuasive, confident and charismatic.

Today you’ll learn about what Jordan was like growing up (hint: he’s actually an introvert by nature and grew up being very shy!) and he’ll also share the two things that keep people stuck when it comes to creating true connections. Jordan also gives us some of his best tips for how to practice confidence and charisma, including a pretty cool exercise involving a doorway and post-it notes! He even delivers a beautiful rant about how we, as a community, can begin to cure the divisiveness that’s been spreading around the world and come together. This episode is both extremely practical and super inspiring and I know you’re going to absolutely love Jordan’s advice!

27 Apr 2018Why Your Biggest Roadblock Is Yourself (And How to Fix It), with James Wedmore01:18:27

About a year ago, today’s guest James Wedmore and I decided to meet for lunch. To be honest, I didn’t know a ton about him at the time, and I just knew that he had a popular mastermind group for entrepreneurs as well as a really successful online business.

I expected our conversation to revolve around things like the latest business strategies and tactics, but as soon as we sat down it was clear to me that James was so much more than a business coach. For the next two or three hours we talked about personal development, spirituality and the crazy stories that had taught us something in our lives. Not to mention, James was funny and relatable, and he brings all of that to this fun and unique interview.

We talk about upcoming business trends and predictions and well as his first real business, but we also dive into his personal journey with spirituality. James shares about how he shifted his brand to talk less about marketing and more about mindset. He combines self-help with business strategy in a way that’s seamless, and in my opinion, necessary. We both truly believe that if you want to create an incredible business and life, you need to master your inner game first.

04 May 202010 Creators Share the Best Online Course Strategies for 202000:25:59

Every business is unique, which is why every entrepreneur finds different strategies and hacks that work best for them.

So for this special episode, I'm bringing in 10 of my students who have taken my online course, The Profitable Creator, which used to be called Blog to Biz Hive by the way. Now, all of these students have gone through the program and created and launched an online course of their own. And so this episode is where they're sharing some of their best hacks and strategies that they've learned along the way.

They each share for just a few minutes, so you’ll get a taste of a multitude of different tactics and perspectives that have allowed them to create their own versions of success. From earning a few thousand dollars, to six-figure launches, you’ll get insight into it all.

I cannot wait for you to hear their brilliance and reflections. What they share could be the thing you’ve been waiting to hear!

By the way, if you want to learn even MORE about how to have a successful online course launch, I’m hosting a free online webinar where I will be breaking down the 3 systems that you need to have in place if you want to have a 5 or 6 figure online course launch.

It’s taking place on May 5, 2020, so to register, just head to theprofitablecreator.com/workshop  to save your spot. I can’t wait to see you there.

18 Aug 2020Are You Self Sabotaging Your Business Results? Listen Up00:44:48

Today’s coaching call with Brie is packed with so many powerful insights. Brie has a blog and is now working on a book, which is essentially a memoir about her life, and she explains how she noticed everything falling apart as soon as she started working on this book. Brie stopped blogging for the past couple of months and she even stopped working on the book, as well as neglecting a lot of other practices in her life that used to be valuable to her.

Brie is wondering how she can stop sabotaging herself, and we go really deep in this conversation about why this could be happening (and how I think she may be actually afraid of success). We look at scarcity and the feeling that there’s “never enough”, upper limit problems and what practices you could use to come back to yourself - even if you’re feeling afraid. What did I tell you, this episode with Brie is packed with lessons that a lot of us could use in our own lives!

Well, he started incorporating authentic story-telling, writing, and videos into his work and his community immediately shifted and grew.
