01 Mar 2023"All I saw in the mirror was the scrawniest of people" Male Model Jonathan Vontalken opens up about his personal relationship with his image.00:50:48

'I worked out so much but would just see the thinnest, kind of scrawniest person in the mirror and it would just kill me' A successful modeling career throughout Europe and travelling the world, Jonathan Vontalken from the outside had it all. Little did his friends know, including myself and my wife; his best friend was that he was struggling with crippling body dysmorphia as well as hiding pain so deep from his family's Catholic views on his sexuality. This is an episode that was so raw and one that I have wanted to do for so long with another guy to talk about struggles with men and body image - it was even more special that the episode came to fruition with a close friend with whom neither of us had known during the time we were both struggling with body dysmorphia that the other was not coping.

11 Aug 2023Beating the Odds with Anthony Trucks00:26:46

Anthony Trucks is a self proclaimed “Foster kid turned NFL athlete turned serial entrepreneur."

He is a family man, appeared on an American Ninja Warrior, is a former NFL player, Business Owner, International Speaker and Corporate Business Consultant.

At the age of three years old, Anthony was placed into the foster care system. It’s a well-known fact that up to 50 percent of kids placed in the system will end up homeless upon emancipation, and 75% of prison inmates in the U.S. are former foster kids so needless to say the odds were against him from the beginning. This looming reality was never lost on him and he spent a good bulk of his childhood feeling adrift, unworthy and listless. For years, he spent every day in survival mode, just trying to make it to the next day, week and year in one piece.

03 Feb 2023I'm getting people to see me for me, not Samantha Harris, the Model00:22:30

Samantha Harris is one of Australia’s most successful models. She started her modelling career when she was only 13 years of age and has both led and witnessed the changing portrait of Australia's fashion industry, becoming a trailblazer in representation of First Nations people appearing on the front of iconic magazines, catwalks, and editorial campaigns alike.

She has had an illustrious career and as the second Indigenous model to ever grace the cover of Vogue, she is one of the leading pioneers in pushing for more diversity in the industry.

But it’s her work off the catwalk that has been her most impressive to date. She has used her platform to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls, was announced as a Goodwill Ambassador for World Vision Australia, helping vulnerable women and girls across the globe.

Is a proud Dunghutti woman, wears her cultural identity proudly and somebody we are truly honoured to have on the show.

Be sure to listen in as we hear about Samantha's journey, her rise to fame in the fashion industry from such an early age to being the age she is now having grown into herself and getting people to see Samantha for herself, and not just 'Samantha Harris' the model.

Our first episode for 2022 and founder Glenn Marsden chats with Craig Levinson – A Talent Manager in the USA as well as mentor and manager to Zion Clark who under his management is taking the world by storm.

A Netflix Documentary, Brand Deals, Opportunities amongst many other things.

He is somebody in the USA who certainly knows how to make things happen for his clients that is for sure, but there is a side to Craig that we absolutely drew to immediately upon getting to know him.

That was his undeniable support for those around him.

We knew we wanted to hear Craig's story and find out more about the man behind making sure everybody around him has that support system they need in everything they do, and why it is so important to him.

South African born New Zealand raised, Craig made a bold move at 19 to the USA to pursue his dreams of playing college basketball which saw a natural progression to becoming a strong advocate for optimising human performance through health and wellness.

Throughout this passion and playing in the game, Craig found an appreciation in helping others. With a background and experience in both Marketing and Business Development, Craig saw that he could not only help talent in their careers but also make sure they had the support that is necessary.

Thus he created his own Talent Agency in representing both athletes and influencers.

This is an incredible episode of not only an entrepreneurial journey and what can be achieved when you put your mind to something, work hard and learn that sometimes in life you simply have to make that bold move to achieve what you want. But an episode that gives you an insight into the person behind the profession that makes sure Mental Wellbeing and support systems are always top priority.

25 Nov 2020'Everyone has experienced F.O.M.O' with Patrick Mcginnis00:29:20

‘Beauty is in the imperfection. I think the parts of me that I like the best are maybe the parts that nobody see’s which are super crazy and aren’t perfect. But they’re the parts that make me different and the parts that teach me the most. I’m actually not afraid of that side of me. I embrace it. Some of the things we are not perfect at, we have to work on them too. But they are definitely a part of who we are as much as the stuff we love to tell everybody about. The flaws are good too’ Patrick Mcginnis

We are truly grateful to have some absolutely incredible advocates like Patrick getting behind the @imperfectlyperfectcampaign Global Efforts and sharing their stories to help us change the narrative around mental health especially through the corporate sectors. Patrick J. McGinnis is a venture capitalist, writer, and speaker who has invested in leading companies in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He is the creator and host of the hit podcast FOMO Sapiens, which is distributed by Harvard Business Review and has achieved over 2 million downloads. Patrick coined the term “FOMO” short for “Fear of Missing Out”, which was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2013. He is also the creator of the term “FOBO” or “Fear of a Better Option” and has been featured as the creator of both terms in media outlets including the New York Times, The Financial Times, Boston Globe, Guardian, Inc. magazine, Cosmopolitan, and MSNBC. His TED Talk “How to Make Faster Decisions” was released in 2019. Patrick is the author of the international bestseller The 10% Entrepreneur: Live Your Startup Dream Without Quitting Your Day Job, a guide to part-time entrepreneurship.

'The voice for so many women overcoming adversity and rebuilding their lives whilst empowering and inspiring others'

Auctioneer • Author • Motivational Speaker • Mentor • Nonprofit advocate • Humanitarian.

To the outside world, everyone would think that Letitia Frye was the epitome of success (and don't get me wrong, she is) and that she was untouchable, strong and never seen adversity, I mean how could she have, right?!

Isn't that what we tend to think when we see a successful career, wealth, events, smiles, right? .

WRONG!.

As we proudly promote through the imperfectly perfect campaign; judgement is the demise of us all. For we never know what somebody may have been through nor what their story is. Letitia is certainly no different, and a serendipitous moment that brought founder Glenn and Letitia together in the USA through a chance encounter opened up a story to be shared.

Letitia's story begins.....

'On Thanksgiving morning in 2014, Letitia, an avid runner all of her life, was struck by a car while out on a jog. Letitia had her head split open and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and severe Concussion which lead way to Post Concussive Syndrome and PTSD. Although Letitia began the transition to motivational speaking after her accident, it was the sudden and tragic death of the father of her children on July 22, 2015 that truly led Letitia to her calling as an inspirational speaker. Years later, a new loving relationship once again brought Letitia some happiness, what came next was the loss of her partner's child by suicide........' .

Today, she is found on stage with some of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, both clients and friends including: Actor Johnny Depp, musician Alice Cooper, rocker legend Robby Krieger of The Doors, and many more. She went on to develop a 7 practice methodology, teaching others on how to succeed despite any obstacle they may face and considers herself to be living proof of your own future success.

But how did she get there....well listen in to our chat as she delves in to her story with nothing but honesty, rawness and pure heart felt emotion. . Her message is a poignant reminder that mindset and 'self-care' is everything and you cannot help anybody else, if you do not look after yourself.

'There comes a moment that through your belief, you arrive. It’s like you leave the car, you don’t stay in the car. I’ve used my vehicle to get where I need to go. The realisation of my soul. That’s my home and it’s living in my heart, and it is in love and I spread it like a virus. Jesus Christ was 2000 years ago, he’s right here, right now. That’s what i’m saying. It’s you. God is within you. The light is within you.’ - @iceman_hof

A huge honour and privilege to have Wim Hof get behind our Global Efforts in challenging the narrative around Mental Health and sharing his story.

Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof got his nickname 'The Iceman' by breaking a number of records related to cold exposure including: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in shorts, running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle barefoot, and standing in a container while covered with ice cubes for more than 112 minutes.

Using 'cold, hard nature' as his teacher, his extensive training has enabled him to learn to control his breathing, heart rate, and blood circulation and to withstand extreme temperatures.

Armed with his motto 'what I am capable of, everybody can learn', Wim Hof is convinced that everyone can tap into their inner potential without having to invest the same decades worth of study, travel and daring.

Wim has made it his mission to share what he’s learned with the rest of the world. And so he developed the Wim Hof Method: a combination of breathing, cold therapy and commitment that offers a range of benefits.

With his Wim Hof Method, he teaches people from all over the world, from celebrities and professional athletes, to people of all ages, to control their body & mind and achieve extraordinary things.

“He has not only helped advance scientific understanding, but also accomplished extraordinary feats of human endurance, including 21 Guinness World Records.

We are so excited to share with you this fantastic conversation with Founder Glenn Marsden about Wim Hof breathing, mental wellness, what is going on right now in the world and our connection to nature, to soul and to God.

10 Apr 2020'Defying the Enemy Within' - Joe Williams Tew00:56:26

In 2012, Joe Williams found himself sitting in a Dubbo psychiatric unit, faced with a choice.

The former NRL player and professional boxer had just attempted suicide.

"Joe you're lucky to be alive," his doctor said.

"You've got a second chance at life now, what are you going to do with it?"

In the years prior, Williams had managed to kick his addictions to illicit drugs and alcohol. But he had fallen into a destructive pattern of prescription drug use, and was struggling with his recently-diagnosed bipolar disorder.

Williams says that day in Dubbo was one step in an ongoing journey to self-knowledge and recovery, but it marked a turning point.

"It was in that moment, I said to myself … 'I am so thankful to be alive, and every day I get to open my eyes, I'm going to treat that as a gift'," he said.

Listen in as I sit and hear Joe's story and gain an insight into his recovery and how he has managed to overcome adversity and move forward with helping others.

03 Mar 2021'I had to shut half of me off or I don't believe I would've survived being thrown into fame so quick' with Suzanne Shaw00:39:11

Suzanne Shaw shot to instant fame in 2001 as part of the winning pop group ‘Hearsay’ on the very first reality show ‘Popstars’ in the UK. What followed was a whirlwind career.

The group’s debut single was the fastest selling non-charitable record in UK chart history, selling over 1.3 million copies. They went on to have 2 number one records and 4 top 10 hits.

They had their own Saturday night TV show Hear’say It’s Saturday, performed at the Royal Variety Show with Elton John, and headlined their own hit UK tour.

When they split in 2003, Suzanne carved a successful career in musical theatre, plays and television.

At the start of 2020, Suzanne spoke openly about her battle with mental health and that by making some big lifestyle changes it helped reduce her depression and anxiety.

Such an in depth conversation this week with Suzanne, as Founder Glenn Marsden discusses not only a career that has seen some incredible highlights but also what comes with being thrust into stardom at such heights and so quickly. We hear about the effects it can have on your mental wellbeing and how Suzanne navigated through this period, on one hand enjoying her passion of performing on stage but on the other finding herself having to shut half of herself off due to seeing weekly articles on her private life rather than what she was there to do.

We also hear all about her latest project the 'Shaw Happy Plan' in which from such an overwhelming response from her followers and the media with Suzanne documenting her own journey, she developed a movement through her social platform to help so many others worldwide with lifestyle habits and changes.

Growing up with a love of horses and make-up, and a determination to work hard; dabbling in modelling as a teen led to a promising start to a career in photography. A new chapter in her life was just beginning when tragedy struck, and she lost her partner and the father of her newborn daughter, Mia. Then, with barely a moment to grieve, and a young baby dependent on her, Alex almost succumbed to a life-threatening health emergency.

Life was to deal Alex Fevola many more lows and highs, and in this episode, founder Glenn Marsden chats with Alex to hear her journey and her efforts to share it to the world in her own words, for anybody out there that may have or be experiencing what she has had to go through.

15 Jan 2023'I realised over the years, I didn't have a voice until I went inside and learnt about me' with Kiko Ellsworth.00:52:10

Being Imperfectly Perfect to me .... ‘it’s like my mother told me,it’s my own sunshine. It’s accepting my own light, my love for myself. I’m not perfect, but I’m the perfect ME. Can’t nobody do me, better than me, and that’s what it is, it’s accepting that.’

- Kiko Ellsworth. An Incredible Actor known for his work in some of Hollywood’s biggest tv shows and movies 🎥 who made the decision to step away from the lime-light to find himself and pursue more things in life that felt right for him. This episode we hear such an honest and raw chat listening to Kiko's journey through growing up and realising he didn't have a voice, was full of fear, was hiding unconsciously and didn't have any idea who he was, to then being thrust in to the spotlight and suddenly having adoration from countless people who knew a character from the big screen and not the real Kiko.

We learn how through his journey he learnt to go internal and figure out what was going on within himself, where his past behaviour came from and how he started figuring out what was going on with himself to the point he finally started to find out who he was.

What's more incredible is what he has gone forward with from that self realisation, work and knowledge.

Going out to help, serve and teach so many others in this world.

Son of Dutch football legend, Dean Gorré, Kenji was tipped to stardom from a young-age, when he played for both Manchester City’s and Manchester United’s academies at just 6 years old.

This was the perfect footballing education, as he learned from the likes of Giggs, Scholes and Ferdinand on a daily basis on the training ground.

Unfortunately, at 18 years old, Kenji received a brutal setback when he was informed by Sir Alex Ferguson that he was being released by United. However, Kenji didn’t give up on his professional football dream and ended up playing for Swansea City in the Premier League – proving that setbacks can become opportunities with the right attitude.

Although, while in Wales, another difficult period ensued, with Kenji battling a gambling addiction.

Fortunately, Kenji overcame the addiction and he’s now happier than ever, enjoying his football for Nacional in Portugal and playing for the their national team.

He is more than just a footballer

He is using his experiences of dealing with setbacks to help other footballers fine tune their own mentality.

He’s recently founded On The Ball - a service where elite footballers can learn more about developing the correct mind-set for elite sport and also hosts Konversations with Kenji, a podcast discussing the mental side of football.

Make sure to tune in as Founder Glenn Marsden and Kenji discuss a journey of an elite level athlete who endured setbacks, addictions and a come back to empower and inspire countless others.

26 May 2021'Too Close' with Willa Amai00:27:33

At nine-years old, Willa Amai began her journey writing songs about heartbreaks she had yet to experience, losses she had never felt, and social injustices she didn’t even know existed. With an eclectic mix of inspirations - from Regina Spektor records played during bath time to the poetry books her parents read to her - this Los Angeles native quickly amassed a body of work revealing lyrical complexity far beyond her years. She also created imaginative melodies, something she partly attributes to synesthesia (a neurological phenomenon in which one sense triggers the perception of another sense, such as seeing letters and words as color).

At the age of 12, she caught the eye of Linda Perry and reaping the rewards of industry insiders (Dolly Parton, Brandi Carlile) and leaders (The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show) alike thanks to the watchful eye and curation of the artist development of Linda Perry herself.

Now 17, Willa has begun sharing her music with the world, showing the extraordinary depth of her narrative voice and the subtle power of her songwriting. “When I’m writing it’s almost like I’m turning on a radio,” she says. “It might take a few songs to find a station that comes through, but once I do find it, it’s just right. It’s like the song already exists and my job is to pull it out of the air and into the world.”

I Can Go To Bed Whenever is Willa’s eagerly awaited first album releasing June 4, produced by Linda Perry and recorded in Los Angeles at Perry’s Greenleaf Studios.

The album’s focus track "Too Close" comes out the same day as the album.

We are so excited to bring you this episode as we chat to Willa about an incredible journey through her music and about her own struggles with Anxiety in the past.

Listen in as we hear Willa share how her song writing reflects her own struggles and reality of the places and moments she herself has been in.

17 Mar 2024'My life could've been very different, had I chosen a darker path' with Ricky Whittle01:02:20

Ricky Whittle made his acting debut in 2002, playing Ryan Naysmith of fictional football club Harchester United in Dream Team. What followed was a four-year stint as Calvin Valentine in the Uk's hit show, Hollyoaks. A successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing duly followed all whilst making an incredible impact in the UK with his career, Ricky harboured bigger ambitions and wanted to give Hollywood a go and in 2009, he boarded a plane to go after his dreams.

Success came with his casting in the popular show The 100, with Ricky becoming a popular character, and then came the lead role in one of Hollywoods biggest shows 'American Gods' with Ricky being cast as the lead 'Shadow Moon'

During this incredible episode, Founder Glenn Marsden chats with Ricky about his start into entertainment, through an undeniably incredible career in the UK through to taking a leap into the unknown that is Hollywood, to have some amazing success then cast as the lead in one of the US’s biggest shows.  Not only do we hear all about his amazing work, we also get to know all about the man behind the profession, his upbringing, how he navigated his whole mental wellbeing through his younger years and how things may have been completely different had he not internally chosen himself and changed his mindset on how he looked at life.

In 2019 Liv worked with Discover Japan to create the digital series Discover Japan: Okinawa with Liv Phyland. She also co-hosted two specials for the newly created Network Ten platform 10 Travlr for Tourism NZ in 2019, and Northern Territory, and Cairns in 2020.

We are so excited for you to listen to this episode as Liv delves straight in to the topic at hand with the conversations that we still see been shied away from.

We hear how people can be affected by mental health not just directly, but also indirectly like Liv openly shares on the episode from seeing some of her closest people go through their struggles and how many people still shy away from the subject at hand when they feel they have nothing to contribute to the conversation because they haven't been directly affected personally.

This is such an important episode especially for those who feel exactly like this in not thinking that they have anything to say or advocate for.

The importance of knowing Mental Health can and does effect everyone of us throughout our life being that either directly or like this episode discusses indirectly.

04 Aug 2021“I wasn’t myself. I needed to go back home. I had to re-find myself. I needed to find my faith" with Psalm Wooching00:29:43

Psalm Wooching is an American rugby union player who played for the United States men's national team. He also played for the San Diego Legion in the Major League Rugby and previously played for the USA Selects and Seattle Saracens. Prior to his career in rugby, he played college football for the University of Washington Huskies, playing as a fullback and linebacker. Despite significant interest from NFL teams, he announced that he would be pursuing a career in professional rugby, and not football, ahead of the 2017 NFL draft and made his debut for the United States men's national rugby team in 2018 in the Americas Rugby Championship.

He currently resides in France playing for Rouen Normandie Rugby club.

Such an incredible conversation with founder Glenn Marsden, co-host Rachael Newsham and Psalm for this episode discussing everything from a disciplined mindset to achieve what you set out to get to the importance of taking time out for your Mental Health when you need to.

With what we have seen in the Olympics this year with Mental Health being put before profession, Psalm Wooching is somebody who certainly leads from the front as a true advocate for making sure your mind is just as healthy as your body physically.

This episode through his personal journey will show you just how inspiring this man is.

27 Nov 2020'I needed to give up. I needed to realise people liked me for me being me'01:53:56

This episode's guest began his journey into a world of make believe at young age, working in film and tv on an array of children series, and with over two decades of evolution his credits including series such as winners and losers, neighbours, and Elephant Princess. A life time of positivity and optimism hit a sharpe resistance of polar opposite perspective and almost lost him all that he had ever known to be. But like the caterpillar. Re-emerging to find a true state of possibility and happiness. Which leads him to his greatest role yet, as a soon to be father.

We welcome Australian Actor Damien Bodie.

This was such an in-depth, almost 2 hour chat as Founder; Glenn and Damien get deep and real. We hear of an amazing career in the lime light, and how self-doubt crept in which nearly lost Damien everything. We discuss the fear of failure yet the fear of success and ultimately what it took for Damien to dig deep and realise what he needed to do in himself to take back control of his life to turn everything around.
