Game Overview

A string of ritualistic murders threatens Bright Falls, a small-town community surrounded by Pacific Northwest wilderness. Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases arrives to investigate the murders. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie

The Outer Wilds, Shadow of the Colossus and Resident Evil 2 are sizzling away for this edition. Outer Wilds is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. In the game, the player-character finds themselves on a planet with only 22 minutes before the local sun goes supernova and kills them. The player continually repeats this 22-minute cycle by learning details that can help alter the outcome on later playthroughs. It received critical acclaim and won several awards, including game of the year. Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. A remake of the 1998 game of the same name, it was released for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019. Players control rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape Raccoon City during a zombie outbreak. Capcom considered remaking Resident Evil 2 following the successful release of the remake of the first Resident Evil in 2002, but was delayed as series creator Shinji Mikami did not want to divert development from the then-upcoming Resident Evil 4 (2005). Capcom announced the Resident Evil 2 remake in August 2015 and released the first trailer and gameplay footage at E3 2018. Resident Evil 2 received critical acclaim, with praise for its presentation, gameplay, and faithfulness to the original. It was nominated for several awards, including numerous "game of the year" awards. By April 2020, it has sold over 6.5 million copies, outselling the original. Shadow of the Colossus is an action-adventure game developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It is a remake of the original game for the PlayStation 2 using ultra-high definition art assets. The remake was led by Bluepoint, who developed the earlier PlayStation 3 remaster, with assistance from SIE Japan Studio. The developers remade the assets from the ground up, but Shadow of the Colossus retains the same gameplay from the original title aside from the introduction of a new control scheme. The game received acclaim from critics, who praised it for preserving the feel of the original while vastly improving graphics and performance, and updating the control scheme. Has the industry now dismissed this noise as sour grapes from the fanboys or are they suffering with genre snobbery? #Sony have a surprisingly strong presence at the #DICEAwards, did the #PlayStation have a deceptively strong 2021?

#Techland stirred up an awful lot of people when they proudly announced that #DyingLight2 will require “at least 500 hours” to fully complete. The reaction from the media and fans alike was clearly not what they had intended and they shortly clarified this with further context. Has this raised any red flags for the game or is still on course for a day one purchase.

Another year, another bloated Game Awards ceremony, riddled with ads, throwaway winners and a few interesting announcements. The lads try and cut their way through the filler and report back on what stood out for them, including hands-on impressions of the incredible The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience available on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles!

After arriving early for a big meeting with the mayor of a bizarre Northern English town, a traveling salesman takes the time to explore and meet the locals, who are all very eager to give him a series of increasingly odd jobs…

“Thank Goodness You’re Here!” is a comedy slapformer, which unfolds over time as the players' exploration and antics leave their mark on the strange town of Barnsworth. With each completed odd job, new areas of the town open up, stranger and stranger tasks become available, and the clock ticks towards our salesman’s big meeting. The town’s colorful inhabitants are brought to life with vibrant hand-drawn animation, fully voiced dialogue, and wall-to-wall double entendres.

Apps and Adkins get together to share some game impressions. First up it is Final Fantasy VII Remake. Does this set up an interesting new direction for the series or foul nest of a classic game. Adkins then shares some of the dirty secrets of Far Cry New Dawn!

Dragon's Dogma is a 2012 action role-playing hack and slash video game by Capcom. First released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, an enhanced version subtitled Dark Arisen was later released for the same consoles in 2013, with ports releasing for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in the ensuing years. Set in Gransys, a high fantasy world inspired by Sicily, the player takes on the role of a human protagonist dubbed the Arisen on a quest to defeat the dragon Grigori, a being said to herald the world's end, while uncovering a deeper conspiracy along the way.

The gameplay focuses on the Arisen—a customizable avatar—exploring Gransys completing quests and fighting monsters in real-time combat. The protagonist is accompanied by Pawns, characters who provide combat support and advice; the protagonist has one customized Pawn, and two additional Pawns either pre-set within the game or other customized Pawns shared by other players through an online lobby. Both standard combat and boss battles involve grappling with or climbing on enemies.

Dragon's Dogma was conceptualized by director Hideaki Itsuno in 2000 and the project was successfully pitched the project and production began in 2008. The 150-strong staff, who had previously worked on Capcom franchises such as Street Fighter, Breath of Fire, and Devil May Cry, took inspiration from Devil May Cry. The music, led by Tadayoshi Makino and including contributions from Israeli-American composer Inon Zur, used a full orchestra and focused on ambiance. Dark Arisen was designed to incorporate fan feedback and offer a complete experience for both old and new players.

Dragon's Dogma received positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay, but generally criticized the narrative for being lacking. The original game and Dark Arisen had sold 7.9 million units by September 2023. A Japan-exclusive massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Dragon's Dogma Online, released in 2015. An original net animation adaptation was globally released on Netflix in 2020. A sequel, Dragon's Dogma 2, was released in 2024.

Apps sits down with Adkins to review Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a 2020 life simulation video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The fifth main series title in the Animal Crossing series, New Horizons's development was confirmed at a Nintendo Direct in 2018, and its release date slated for 2019. Gameplay footage was released at E3 2019, where it was announced that the game's title would be New Horizons and that its release date would be delayed. The game was released on March 20, 2020. New Horizons sees the player assuming the role of a customizable character who moves to a deserted island after purchasing a deserted island package from Tom Nook, a tanuki character who has appeared in every entry in the Animal Crossing series. Taking place in real-time, the player can explore the island in a nonlinear fashion, gathering and crafting items, catching insects and fish, and developing the island into a community of anthropomorphic animals. New Horizons was a commercial and critical success. Its physical copy launch sales in Japan broke the record held by Pokémon Sword and Shield for the biggest Switch game debut in the region. It has received acclaim from critics, with many praising its gameplay and customization options. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second entry in the Final Fantasy VII remake project, which retells the story of the genre-redefining RPG across three distinct games.

Adkins joins Apps on the 77^th edition of Idle Game Chat.

The rumour mill was running in overdrive this weekend with heavy speculation that Microsoft could be planning a surprise early release of the Multiplayer component to Halo Infinite. The data miners suggest that this could be as early as November 15^th and will be during the special 20^th Anniversary Xbox Live Stream. Could Microsoft really be this bold and is it a sound business move? There are rumblings of an Early Access Digital Bundle that is the first indication of a plan to allow some Halo Infinite players to start playing before the game’s release date so the lad wonder if this could indeed become a pattern developing.

The Xbox Series console had its 1^st Birthday this past week. The chaps look back on their year with Microsoft’s new generation of consoles and believe there are brighter days ahead for the Greenbloods.

They round things off with some backlog misery. Adkins has got himself in a bit of a pickle with Deathloop, Guardians of the Galaxy, Demon Souls and Forza Horizon 5. Which of these titles will ultimately fall on the sword and how will this issue get resolved with a busy 2022 fast approaching?

GreedFall is an action role-playing game developed by Spiders and published by Focus Home Interactive. The game is set in 17th century-styled fantasy setting, and was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 10, 2019. Grand Theft Auto Online is an online multiplayer action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 1 October 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was released on 18 November 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a Microsoft Windows version on 14 April 2015. The game is the online component of Grand Theft Auto V. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas (based on Southern California), Grand Theft Auto Online allows up to 30 players[a] to explore the open world and engage in cooperative or competitive game matches. The open-world design lets players freely roam San Andreas, which includes open countryside and the fictional city of Los Santos (based on Los Angeles). Apps is joined by Adkins and Biff to review Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice! Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action-adventure video game developed by FromSoftware and published by Activision. The game takes place in the Sengoku period in Japan, and follows a shinobi known as Wolf as he attempts to take revenge on a samurai clan who attacked him and kidnapped his lord. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 22 March 2019. Gameplay is focused on stealth, exploration, and combat, with a particular emphasis on boss battles. Although most of the game takes place in fictional areas, some areas are inspired by real-world buildings and locations in Japan. The game also makes strong references to Buddhist mythology and philosophy. While creating the game, director Hidetaka Miyazaki wanted to create a new intellectual property (IP) that marked a departure from the Souls series of games also made by FromSoftware, and looked to series such as The Mysterious Murasame Castle and Tenchu for inspiration. Sekiro received universal acclaim from critics, who commonly compared and contrasted it to the Souls games. While its high level of difficulty received some criticism, praise was directed toward its gameplay and setting. By August 2019, the game had shipped 3.8 million copies worldwide.
