I Used To Watch This? (Mike Frighetto and Mike Sullivan)

Hawk is back in town for after leaving Spenser or something. In the first few days he is shot at, run over, a kid is hit by a car and he has to find and potentially kill and old friend. What a first week back home! 

Blake Carrington is a rich dude who gets what he wants. Right now he wants Krystle who is defintely not rich but good looking enough for him. He also has a son who he doesn't care for, and a daughter who doesn't like Krystle. It is an interesting family. 

The glorious evil twin (is that even the right word?) Garthe (the 'e' is silent) Knight returns. His giant, indestructible truck, Goliath, and breaks him out of the super max prison made of styrofoam and now he is out for vengeance. He wants Micael Knight dead, and also to kidnap some doctor and sell him to some other country(?). The plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but we have multiple doubles, and lots of car vs. truck action. Check it out! 

An actress is found dead and all signs point to suicide at first. Then, there are some inconsistencies and the actress's mom says she was murdered by her lover who happens to be a congressman. He is also a friend of Quincy. A tabloid reporter is hot on the case and tries to prove it was the congressman because he hates the guy. Can Quincy get to the truth? Listen to find out! 

Maddie Hayes is a famous model. David Addison is a fast-talking private detective. In this pilot for Moonlighting they come together after Maddie's business manager steals all her money and she has to liquidate all her assets. One of these assets happens to be a detective agency. Somehow some stolen German diamonds come into play and this kicks off the whole series. Check it out.

This week on Columbo we have William Shatner guest starring as a famous TV detective who murders his producer/blackmailer. Very meta. Columbo like the guy, it seems, and genuinely likes hanging out with him even as he is trying to prove him guilty. Ward  (Shatner) seems to have a little problem separating his TV persona from real life and tries to help Columbo. It's gets a little weird, but it is a lot of fun. Check it out! 

Face has some scheme worked up where he is pretending to be a music promoter and has access to some top country musician so he can somehow host a concert and take all of the money? It doesn't make much sense. But, instead of getting Cowboy George, he gets Boy George and Culture Club and his plan is in danger of falling apart. He manages to figure out something is amiss in town and it turns out the bar owner is planning a major heist and now they have to stop it. The plot is really weak here, it is basically a long Culture Club video. Check it out! 

Walter ends up on a security detail after the band Sweet Kicks (featuring Laura Branigan) is almost blown up. Automan is excited to live the rock and roll lifestyle and ends up kind of dating Jessie (Laura). Then, he dad goes to an old mob friend for some protection, but they end up being taken out. It's up to Walter and Automan to save the day now! 

Jonathan Chase is a man. But, also he can turn into animals. Somehow he uses this to fight crime and this week he is helping Detective McKenzie find some arms dealers who shot her partner. Check it out.

Spenser is a complicated man, but you can hire him to help you out of a jam. In this first he isn't very successful in the first case we see as a woman he is protecting gets killed. But, he's just getting warmed up. Also, we get to meet Hawk, the best character in the show. The main case involves a man looking for his wife who seems to have left him to rob and bank to buy guns? It's very strange, but we get a kind of happy ending.

Jessica Fletcher is a widow, part time school teacher and newly minted author, thanks to her nephew's meddling. Turns out she has a knack for solving murders, who knew? While on a whirlwind book tour she stumbles upon a murder and this is her first time solving one for real. Mike Torello is a lieutenant in the Major Crimes division of the Chicago police back in the 60s. He takes his job seriously, and maybe a bit personal. He's a tough as nails cop and he and his crew are ready to take down organized crime by any means necessary. Check it out. 

In an Emmy worth performance, Jonathan Hart is blinded by chemicals put in his pool but a man seeking revenge for his sister. Turns out she was infatuated with Mr. Hart and she died of cancer without telling him how she felt and her brother thinks it's Jonathan's fault or something? Will his sight come back? Will he become a superhero like Daredevil? check it out to find out! 

Magnum gets knocked off of his surf ski in the middle of the ocean and has to tread water until he can be rescued. The problem is, nobody knows for sure he is out on the water. He always spends the 4th of July on his own so nobody will notice he is gone for at least 72 hours. Can he tread water that long? While the memories of his father keep him afloat? In our first regular episode of the season we look to none other than Lee Majors in The Fall Guy. Colt is a stuntman and bounty hunter. It's quite a combination, but it works! In the pilot Colt's "nephew" comes to help him out, but he gets much more than he bargained for. Before we know it they are driving through a desert with 20 cop cars after them. Take a listen! 

Nick, Cody and Murray help Murray's sister (played by Geena Davis) prove that a Nazi sub crashed in the Pacific off the coast of California. It may be filled with gold, so of course the boys want to help. Nick and Cody can't control themselves around Murrya's sister, and she can't seem to either. Rockford is on the case to help find out if a woman really died by suicide. At least that's what he thinks. It turns out the lady who hired him is a P.I. and trying to get the cops off her case. But, then it turns out the other lady was murdered and now the two P.I.s have to work together to clear their names. (special guest star Stefanie Powers. On Rockford, not our podcast.)

Note: We talk a bit in the beginning about other shows. Rockford talk starts at approximately 10:20 if you want to skip ahead. 

Mitch comes to ask Jim for help finding a missing model. Mitch may or may not be in love with her and she may or may not have killed someone. Then, she might have died in an accident. Oh, the 80s. You can have a show that is basically for kids, but the main kid is kind of a scheming jerk and would drive adults crazy. That is "It's You Move" for you. Starring a young Jason Bateman, it was a show that was about a boy and his family where the boy tried to get away with as much as possible. According to Bateman it was cancelled because parents complained. Check it out! 

Matt Houston is a rich oil tycoon and diamond mine owner (among other things) who likes to work as a private investigator in his spare time. Along with his partner C.J., they try to solve the murder of a rich Italian guy who blow up christening a boat. Really.

Nothing good ever happens when aliens come down from the sky promising technology for some small favors, right? We went back to look at the original Miniseries "V" from 1983 to see what we thought about it. We learned we missed a lot of stuff back in the day. Take a listen to see what we thought! 

Also know as, Bridge Across Time, is a TV movie about Jack the Ripper somehow traveling through time to 1985 Arizona. Specifically, to the London Bridge that was moved from London to Arizona. See, it all makes perfect sense. This movie stars David Hasselhoff, Stepfanie Kramer, Randolph Mantooth and Adrienne Barbeau, so a very big named cast. The Hoff is a cop who moved from Chicago, we hear about that a lot, and he is the only one who can figure out these murders that are happening in London Village area. It's weird, very cheesy and totally 80s. Check it out. 

A man of a thousand faces and voices escapes from custody and only Michael and KITT can catch him. He's called The Chameleon and he is out for one more big job, and to kill Michael. The Branford's have eight kids! Eight! David, played by Mark Hamill in this first episode only, is ready to move out because he fights with his dad all the time. The youngest daughter gets busted for drugs. The youngest kid is getting his tonsils out. And, while all the is happening, Mrs. Bradford commissioned some plans to expand the house without having the money for it. Oh, we also find out 4 kids were accidents. The Angels come in peace to take down a con man who is ripping people off while promising some special time with "space people." Oh, and he might have also murdered someone. Sabrina pretends to be a P.I. looking for another woman, Kelly pretends to be sexy alien and also someone interested in pilots, and Kris pretends to be interested in aliens and spending Bosely's money. Rick and A.J. are hired by psychic Sarah Childs to help her find a serial killer after the cops ghosted her. It is never explained why the police don't want her help anymore, and it really bothers us. The serial killer keeps dropping stuff at each murder site which helps them find him eventually.

Sam leaps back to 1964, and almost immediately, things go awry. He falls and hits his head, the handyman falls off a ladder and dies in his backyard, then the town gossip is killed by a poisonous snake in the kitchen. And that is all in the first 15 minutes. Sam has leaped into a horror writer's body and it is certainly a scary one. He thinks he is there to save the writer's future wife, but then it gets really crazy. Just listen! 

The Harts are forced to take a train across the country due to a strike in the airline industry. Possibly the air traffic controller strike, it's hard to say. Anyway, the train happens to be filled with 70s TV stars and, of course, there is a murder. Lots of weird things happen that don't all make sense, but it is an interesting ride for sure. Check it out! 

Rick and A.J. are two brothers who couldn't be more different, but together they make a great investigative team. In this first episode they have to help a young woman whose step-dad turns out to be making some shady deals while running for office. Now those shady people are after her after she tries to expose them.

MacGyver is a guy who can do it all -- disarm a missile, stop and acid leak, disable a laser security system, all with tools you'd find in your own pocket. And in this episode he has to do exactly those things, but he does use a Swiss Army knife. It's a good time. Check it out!

Someone is trying to blow up her friends car, and maybe Jill too! 

William Conrad stars as  district attorney McCabe (Fatman) with Joe Penny (Jake) playing an investigator that works for him. In this first episode a senate candidate's lover is killed and Jake and the Fatman have to get to the bottom of it. McCabe is good friends with the candidate  (Robert Reed) so he'd like to help him if he can. But other forces are at play. Check it out! 

Someone is replacing scientists with androids to get to Project XYZ. What is Project XYZ? We aren't really sure, but it is up to Wonder Woman to put a stop to it. Also involved is some old toy maker guy who is making the androids. It's kind of a weird one. Check it out!

Jesse Mach is a motorcycle cop. After is friend is murdered, and almost himself as well, he is forced to sit at a desk in the PR department. But, something isn't right, nobody cares about his partner being killed. Luckily, a secret government motorcycle is being rolled out and he gets to be Street Hawk and find out who is behind all this. After chasing some bad guys, KITT gets hit buy some high voltage wires and loses his memory. He leaves Michael to die in the desert and is befriended by a boy who is running away from the same bad guys. Michael, heartbroken, makes it a high priority to find KITT and not worry much about the bad guys who want to blow up a dam. In the end Michael finds, and fixes KITT, and stops the bad guys. It was a touching episode.

McCall has an imposter on the streets killing people. Also, a lady is almost robbed by some dudes, but gets away in her car and ends up hurting one of the guys and kills him. Since these guys somehow know where she lives she seeks protection from McCall. He sends in Mickey to watch her but he ends up sleeping with her. What? Anyway, it all works out.

So much happens in this pilot for Hotel. First, we have Bette Davis as the owner of the St. Gregory hotel that seems to be always completely booked with the rich and/or famous. Then, Connie Sellecca pulls a Kramer and pretends she work at the hospital to get a real job at the hospital. Peter, the man who manages the hotel, helps out a lady who was assaulted at the hotel, and an old man dies while hanging with his young fiancé at the hotel. That is only part of it. Remember Enos, The lovable deputy from Hazard County? Well, he decided to move to L.A. to work in the big city for some reason. In this first episode Enos is put in a new special Metro Squad that can be used for pretty much anything. This week they are getting ready to take down a prostitution/blackmail ring. Will Enos succeed in stopping the group, without exposing his new neighbor who happens to be in the group? Listen to find out! 

This week we are talking about a short-live crime/P.I. show called Tenspeed and Brown Show. It starred Jeff Goldlum (yes, him) and Ben Vereen as a young stock broker and a con-man, in that order. They are brought together after Tenspeed (Vereen) steals some money out of a bank that was put there by a mobster who stole it from a Nazi. It is a bit confusing. Check it out! 

Carol and Mike are empty-nesters now. All six kids are out doing their own things and Christmas is coming up. Turns out Mike and Carol each have similar ideas to surprise each other with a trip. They each tell the kids their own idea and then when it all falls apart they decide it is best to spend their money to have all the kids come home. Turns out each of the kids is having some crisis and maybe going home will fix them. Oh, and Mike is almost killed at a construction site. This was a wild movie and we had a lot of fun with it. 

Colt and Howie go down to get a bounty in Mexico who happens to be an old high school flame of Colt's. They end up crossing paths with a crooked Colonel who runs a the worst jail in all of Mexico and Mary gets thrown in there. Howie also gets thrown in the jail to help rescue her while Colt goes home to get a whole gang of friends to bust them out. 

A popular radio DJ is killed while live on air and David thinks it's a great case for the Blue Moon Detective Agency. Maddie is resistant at first, but then decides to go along with it after she listens to some recordings of the show. But, then the DJ turns out to be alive! Then someone else is killed and it has to be someone associated with the DJ. It's a little confusing, but a lot of fun! 

In this episode of The Master, Max and John (AKA The Master) help a family save their bar from the local Japanese mob guys. The bad guys have their own Master Ninja so there is a semi-cool Ninja battle. Oh, and the whole reason Max and The Master are at this bar is to ask about his lost daughter, but they seem to forget about it.

Inspector Sledge Hammer is a loose cannon, no rules following, cop. You know the type. And that is the point, this show is poking fun at that type of cop from all of your favorite tv shows and movies. In this episode someone kidnaps the mayor's daughter and Hammer is the only one who can find her. Maybe. Also, many people my die in the process. 

Mr. T plays T.S. Turner who was jailed for a crime he didn't commit and now works for a lawyer who got him out as an investigator. In this episode, they help a Vietnamese family who is being shaken down by some very young Chinese loan sharks or something. T.S. gets to the bottom of it and saves the day, of course. Check it out! 

This week we look at the Hill Street precinct of an unknown big city as they try to grapple with life and crime. We have a large cast of characters. Maybe a bit too much to keep track of in the first few minutes, but that is life in the Big City police station. We get a robbery with a hostage situation, two cops being shot, and a detective who thinks he is a dog. 

We start off with some spoilery talk about Breaking Bad, so if you don't want to hear that part you can skip to 7:25 to go right to the good stuff. Also, we had some audio issues. Hopefully it is decently fixed and it doesn't take away from your enjoyment. 

Briggs and his crew have to steal some nuclear warheads from a general in a country called Santa Costa. They go in with some disguises and use the time-lock vault many more times than it seems like they should. But, in the end, they successfully carry out the seemingly impossible mission. 

Steve Rogers is a big guy with a lot of heart and maybe not a whole lot more. But, after some people that knew his dad die and some others try to recruit him he becomes Captain America. Granted, this takes a lot of coaxing and he basically has to die first, but eventually he becomes Captain America. Check it out.
