On this Episode, Lisa Gonzales tells a story of having severe back pain so bad she almost couldn’t walk; determined to get better she lost 163 lbs ,started physical therapy and weightlifting. She did a Spartan Hurricane Heat and fell in love with them! This year when the longer Hurricane Heats weren’t on the schedule, she decided to email Joe De Sena, and tell him her story and inquire about the longer events not being on the schedule, his response was “Bad news I just signed you up for the Death Race. It’s on the house and would be very displeased if you don’t attend “. So now Lisa is preparing for the Death Race!

On this Episode, Rylee Morris-the daughter of Andy Morris from Episode 148, started running Spartan Races , placing Third in the “2022 Age Group National Series”,  First in her age group at the “Abu Dahbi World Championship”. She also just completed her first 50 mile trail race this year, all before turning 16 years old, which is an amazing achievement!

I was testing out a new way to record , so I figured a good way would be for me to record an episode with myself, running my mouth with a ton of good, and bad, advice about Spartan Ultras! On this Episode, Jack Bauer tells about how he found OCR . He was racing the Spartan 3k race series this year until an unfortunate injury . Now that he’s rehabbing, and back to running, he’s hoping to do “Deka Fit Championship” at the end of the year. Jack is the brains behind all of the Spartan Stats that are on the Yancy camp website. He even tells us about being on the “Broken Skull Ranch” tv show. This was a good episode to record; Jack had a lot of insight for the sport of OCR.

On this Episode Brett “T-REX” Milks tells us all about his journey into OCR. After finding fitness while in lockup, he then discovers OCR. At first he trained at races on low running volume, and slowly worked up his volume to do the longer distances-which he enjoys the most. You may have seen Brett at a race ,and didn't even know it, because he was in a T-Rex costume. He tells us how that all started ,and the ups and downs of running in a T-Rex suit, too. This was a fun Episode where we discussed a bunch of older past races, and the different experiences we had at them.

On this Episode, I Interviewed DJ Fox who just won “World’s Toughest Mudder” with 105 miles. The same distance he ran last year and placed 3rd. We dive into how his training was for 2021 WTM and how he pivoted all in for 2022. We discussed how the race went and his strategies he used for pace, gear, and nutrition. Network”, tells us about surviving the Boston Marathon bombing incident- being within a few feet of the second bomb he lost his right leg above the knee , and his other leg was severely damaged . It was an awesome race for me because I got revenge on a course that has always kicked my ass! I pulled out 2nd place finishes in AG both days! I still can't believe it! I guess it was my lucky days!! Hope you enjoy it!

This is a great episode with someone I look up to, he is a super cool dude in the OCR community and is always cool to run with!

On this Episode, I speak with Father Bruce Jackson and his 2 sons-Dominic and Vincent on Spartan racing. All 3 of them have gotten on the podium in their Age groups, and at the 2018 Jacksonville Spartan race all 3 of them placed first at the same time! Bruce talks to us how he competed in the Elite Race then jumped into the Age Group this weekend. His older son, Dominic tells us how he injured his calf in a previous race, and came back and dominated his Age Group race. Vincent talks to us about how he qualified for the Kids Championship race. This is a great Family, and Dominic is inspiring beyond his years. You don't want to miss this Episode!

On this episode Stephane Olivier tells us all about his life of being a model, actor, and even a tattoo artist. He has lived all over the world and now that he has moved to the U.S. on the West Coast he is soaking up every Spartan Race he can get to! Not long after running races he became a Spartan ambassador , he loves the Spartan community and enjoys running in the open heats and being competitive in his age group. Very cool episode!!

On this episode I talk to my good friend Scott Lemos on how he got 50 miles at World's Toughest Mudder and stayed on the course for 24 hours! He tells us about how the event goes down , how the race works and how different strategies come into play with the way Tough Mudder does their race. If you watched any of the live feed or anyone's post on social media you could see how Tough the conditions were at this race. Temps were in the 20's and mud everywhere this is a good episode and Scott did a great job telling the story of how it all went down! Anyone that ran that race was a beast!

On this episode Toni Canora tells us all about her race at the Spratanburg Ultra ! She met one of my good friends Jason Hart (from episode 11) during the race who did 12hr HH the night before and ended up pacing together for most of the race! In the end she snagged her first Spartan podium in Age Group to close out her OCR season. Toni is a super positive person that is full of life! You definitely want to check this episode out!

On this episode Jenny Fullmer tells us about doing her first spartan race at the beginning of the year and then how she took first place in her  Age group at World Championships on her last race of the year!
