Recap of S05/E01 – We Don’t Fight at Weddings S05/E02 deep dive – The Ol’ College Try
Thoughts/Theories/Trivia/Questions/Observations:
Wayne had taco night too (Indian Tacos), not just the other hicks.
Trivia: The bar that they’re in at the beginning: Ukrainian Centre bar. Gail moved operations here when MoDean’s II burned down.
Theory: In the open, they end with Reilly saying “What’s this about LA?” I wonder if that’s because Dylan has shot movies in LA? Dennis said that he read that was the case. It’s known that Jared has lamented his time as an actor in LA.
Wayne saying “There’s no definition of a woman.” with Tanis following up “Just the same as a man.” Is extremely poignant on the representation on the show.
Tanis is non-monogamous. Not sure what “flavor”.
Fuck – Fight – FERDA:
VERY little sex happening for most, including Tanis!
Wayne and HRJ are catchin' hands (even Tanis getting one scrap)
Everyone else seems to really need a friend.

We surpass the halfway mark of the premiere season of Shoresy! Today’s Episode: S01E04 – If You Can’t Win, Don’t Play
Our longtime brother and resident Joint Boy, Rene Encarnacion, joins us as we dig into a bit of the Shore family history as well as discussing Shoresy’s version of how to handle the Kobayashi Maru.
jeresyd79 via /r/Letterkenny on Reddit Are you going to talk about how during the scrap dairy saves Wayne?
Mark Sparky via Facebook Other than the occasional box shot, why don't the women fight?
Mitch Cole via Facebook 2 things: 1) Notice that Squirrely Dan is still finishing his beer as he runs into the fight 2) Dan looks no more than mildly inconvenienced at Rat Ass trying to choke him out. He doesn’t even look mad. Just slightly annoyed
Valerie Lopez via Facebook 1) Found fact when we rewatched this episode. For anyone that watches the -ish shows, when one of the guys comes out of the truck saying "my name is blah blah blah" and a second guy says "my name is"-- the first guy cuts off the second guy. That second guy plays Vivek in the tv show Grownish. We learned he's a Canadian actor! 2) the moist/squirt/yeast wordplay is impeccable in this episode - add your own!!
robert_forrester18 from Instagram I do enjoy re-watching along with your podcasts. A few random thoughts and I had to turn on closed captioning. 1) All the word play is awesome. 2) I think Glen and the skids win this episode. Glen gave a "STRT", then Roald says to Glen 'What happened to "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid"?' as he's looking at the ground. And Glen gets excited. 3) Did Glen have a Doctor Who reference with Allons-y? 4) Which one of you called my sister a skank? Oooo, there's not much I can do about this one kiddo. Its all right, boo. I got her. 5) Squirt Cobain... TOO FAR!!! 6) Fight scene music matches up great with the fight - No Age "Boy Void"https://youtu.be/obEEbhU598g 7) I actually watched the credits - What are "Moist Consultants" - there are 3 names listed

Congrats on all of your success! I have been listening for a couple of weeks and just finished the Season 3 wrap up. The interview with Tyler was amazing. As are you guys, not surprised it has taken off the way it has.
I would love to be on the show. Watching, actually re-watching, S6 E1 right now. Which is the one I would pick, between us girls. But I am gonna takes you up on your offer of promoting something. Cuz that’s what’s I appreciates about yous.
Sept 7 and 8th, I am going to be riding 200 miles in the Ride for Life Chicago. The Ride benefits TPAN, an HIV/AIDS outreach group in Chicago. It is 100 mile ride from Chicago to Sawyer, Michigan. A very Letterkenny type town in West Michigan, not sure of it population, but it has its problems. Then 100 miles back on the 8th. More information on TPAN is available at TPAN.org. This will be my 9th time doing this ride and raising funds for them.
If any of the degens out there would like to donate, any amount is fine, my ride donation page link is http://support.tpan.com/goto/Shainemw. All the money goes into TPAN’s general fund. If they let me know they heard it from you, I’ll make reference to How Are Ya Now.
Over an Out, Shaine
Please donate ANYTHING you can to Shaine's ride and let 'em know that you heard about it from us!!!
Bobby from JB’s Meme’s via Twitter stated: Also. Reilly and Jonesy's blackboard. The chubby stick figure and it says "Shoresy = fat " 😂And then: This is possibly the first episode, not written by Jared and Jacob. I could be wrong.Well, I then brought in “Awesome” (our Trivia Maven) to fact check. Her response was: “the first episode of #letterkenny to be written by someone other than @jaredkeeso and @jacobtierney79 was s03e04 Les Hiques, by @TorrensJonathan” Victoria McCabe - Facebook (New admin for FB pages/groups) Even more Wayne autism evidence. Why is Katy still annoyed at McMurray in the later episode after this (I mean granted the phrasing was awful)? Does this answer last week's had she had both question? Ever played never have I ever? If so, best or worst thing you ever revealed or had revealed? Ever done or had done any of the mentioned goodbyes? Are there any ones you can think of that they didn't mention in that? That girl doesn't need to be on drugs, prob a good idea she read and didn't take the steroids. Poor poor trusting hockey players. Valerie Lopez - Facebook Soooo, didjya ever notiiiice (I'm doing terrific there bud) that Tanis'ssssses didn't partake of the hot tub party? Why is that? Why wouldn't the McMurray's have invited her given they know that it would have made Wayne uncomfortable to have her in the hot tub with him and they thrive on that. Just my own theory that the McMurray's thrive on discomfort and would have loved watching that happen.. And 2nd point --- does anyone REALLY believe that Pastor Glen had noooos ideas whats was happenings? It was such a fun contradiction to watch play out. Additionally, Valerie is a Patreon patron and now our HIGHEST contributor on our Indiegogo campaign! As you may remember, she heads-up the Comedy Wham podcast. She has now done three separate episodes on Comedy Wham that are in reference to Letterkenny. If you go to comedywham.com and put “Letterkeny” in their search box, you’ll find four articles! Check ‘em out! Thank you so much, Valerie! We love you to pieces!
Glen and Gail being both oversexualized and undersexualized at the same time.
How white is Canada?
Racism: North vs South vs Canada
Is Wayne into horror books?
What would happen if Wayne and Dary fought?
Mrs. McMurray looked really bummed when Dan got out of the hot tub. Trivia
R&J reference "Charlotte gains, bro" and "Serge of gains, bro". Those are references to: Charlotte (English-French actress and singer) and Serge Gainsbourg (father of Charlotte, French singer and songwriter )
Soft-pass: Opposite of a Hard-pass. Something that you're interested in but just can't do.
Mrs. McMurray references being in (Aca)'pulco until "fellas started getting' haved from bridges with their dinks cutt off". This was something that actually happened down in Acapulco in 2017/18 from rival drug gangs.
All of the baseball players mentioned had careers sullied by their use of steroids
Roger Clemens
Sammy Sosa
Jose Canseco
Anabolic steroids come in the form of tablets, capsules, a solution for injection and a cream or gel to rub into the skin. Weightlifters and bodybuilders who use steroids often take doses that are up to 100 times greater than those used to treat medical conditions.
Both books mentioned in this episode are real books.

One thing I neglected to do last time was to give a shout out on behalf of PiGuy for the Patreon/community/podcast network of “Gamefully Unemployed”. I did go in after the episode was already released and put in a pre-roll ad for them, but, of course, I fucked it up slightly and misread one of the host’s names as “Tim” instead of “Tom”. Tom and Dave started Gamefully Unemployed after they lost their jobs at Cracked.com. They’re on Twitch so they do games, watch movies, and other cool stuff. You can find them on Twitter at @GamefullyUn or on Patreon at GamefullyUnemployed (all one word). Their exclusive podcasts are:
Tom and Jeff Watch Batman (a deep dive into all things Batman in video form)
Fox Mulder is a Maniac (an analysis of the X-Files with the premise that Fox Mulder is actually, clinically insane.
They also have a complimentary network called “Story Mode” where they talk pop culture, review movies, play D&D, and lots more.
A New Cast Interview!!!
We’ve got approval to have an interview with Patrick McNeil (Connor the vaping skid) in relatively short order. We’ll keep you updated on that.
Thanks for our guest host and musical guest from last week:
Aaron Farris – Had a great time chatting about an episode that is NOT super popular with a lot of folks, but hearing back that our take on the episode made it better. Thank you Aaaron!
Ryan Devlin (via hosts@howareyanowpod.com) | Have you ever seen Dary more excited about anything? He is outright giddy about his turn this year.In the scene at the end with McMurray and Wayne…What do you think Wayne was trying to tell McMurray? I feel like it may have been something to the effect of them being good buddies if it wasn’t so goddamn hard to communicate. The Booty Warrior (via Twitter @xbuckshotlovex) | I wonder what special or holiday they may this upcoming year… hmm Trevor (via Twitter @cTrain014) | Squirrelly Dan recounting the very first Easter is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. K Trevor Wilson nails that delivery so hard. Regan (via Discord) | Theory: The way Dary paints his Easter eggs is the same way that his mom painted Easter eggs. Awesome (via Discord) | Me: Is that a trivia orrrr????ashamedofyourself:just a random headcanon/theoryhere’s an observation: Wayne (and by extension, Katy) knows enough about Irish folklore to correct Darry on what the Wild Hunt is.(lending further credence to my theory that at least one of their parents was Irish Irish)Me:I thought the Wild Hunt was more mainland Europe?ashamedofyourself:it’s one of those pan-celtic myths. mostly seen in pre-christian gaelic areasit was Heavily Romanticised by a lot of Victorian writers during the Celtic Revival period
From us:
Even the Skids “don’t fuck with tradition”.
Wayne only sticks with tradition when it suits him.
Katy always having to remind Wayne that he’s the one that’s always saying “You don’t fuck with tradition!” when he’s the one trying to buck tradition.
Theory: McMurray is doing his talking-over Wayne on purpose.
Alternate theory: McMurray just REALLY wants to be Wayne’s friend

The initiating of “What could be so urgent?”

Trivia: the whisky they drink is called Guy & Bruce. It has cats on it.
Trivia: Their Salon d’Agriculture is basically the French Ag Hall.

Trivia/Term: When Dan says “That’s a Texas Sized 2-6” he’s referring to what they call, in Canada, a two-six or, in USA, a 26 fluid oz bottle of booze.
Term: Ringette – A non-contact, team sport played on ice. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team. A goal is scored when a player (or skater), shoots an 8” rubber ring into the opponents net. Basically, it’s the flag football version of hockey.
Question: Wayne says “Still no heaters in here, eh? I remember Letterkenny mounting the 50”. I don’t know what that means.
Observation: There’s an ad for “Jim Dickens Auction House” in the hockey rink.
Observation: Connor and Darien both have papers to read for Stewart’s intervention.

ilike3point14 on September 10, 2019 at 6:12 pm – howareyanow.comAre The Bays really that great if they left their family and a couple of dense hockey players to hay for an all day fuck-a-thon? Valerie Lopez - FacebookThis is a rare one for me in that I don't love this episode as a whole. I do absolutely love the ridiculous names that some of the Rez guys have when talking to Katy Kat. But I bristled on seeing the end scene with Wayne and Tanis. NO SPOILERS!! But this episode made me so mad at Wayne who up til now had been a stand-up gentleman, a good guy, real good guy. So poll for our beloved hosts & audience: When Wayne went to the barn, did you think he was up to no good or just going to chat with his "friend" Tanis?
Lots of "BTE" (Big Tanis Energy) in this episode.
Wayne saying "fucking embarrassing".
Was Wayne on the verge of crying when telling his Uncle Eddie/Aunt Marian story?
Was the rhyming based on Dr. Seuss?
Angie back in a season finale, as is Tanis.
Katy almost tells Zack and Ty her last name.
Tanis changed clothes before coming to confront Wayne.

Was Stewart's reference to the roots of the "ache dancing" (Estonian, Samoan, etc...) the seed for the Dax and Ron takedowns?
Where did Coach's
Thoughts/Questions/Observations from our degens:
Mark Sparky - Facebook Love Mrs McMurray! That way she looks a Daryl when they talk about his upcoming performance is sexy as hell! Valerie Lopez - Facebook One of my favorite episodes!!! When I interviewed K Trevor Wilson, I mentioned how much I thought this episode conveyed friendship and helping a friend in need in the final scene. He joked about how hard it is to line dance in overalls. Question/Theory - anyone else creeped out by how similarly goth-y and creepy Pastor Glen and the Skid's music sounded? And we all saw how creepy the McMurray's were! Courtney Kristin Scag - Facebook I think what was creepier to me about the McMurrays was that they did that ‘act’ in front of the entire town. I mean we all know bad gas travels fast in a small town, so I would guess that the whole town actually knew it, but it wasn’t ever portrayed outside of the smaller group settings that we’ve seen before. And you gotta laugh at McMurry’s response to Wayne, something like well these costumes were gonna have to get dry cleaned anyways.

What do you think Mother Hutchins’ “whistle” would sound like?
Wayne was smoking in the cold open.
Beer league team name “No Regretzkys”.
Coach doesn’t help with post-orgasm clean-up.
“Sun’s getting real low, big fella” is what Black Widow says to Hulk to help him relax.
Barb only has one nipple.
Rosie smacks Wayne’s ass before she goes to talk to the kids about ass-grabbing
Why does Stewart know about the “Sex Offender Registry”?
The look on Wayne’s face when Rosie opens his shirt.
Bartholin glands: The Bartholin's glands are two pea sized compound alveolar glands located slightly posterior and to the left and right of the opening of the vagina.
Why wasn't there a discussion on what, specifically, what they were going to talk about before they brought the kids in?
That looks like a lot of kids the same age for a town of 5000.
Why is Stewart such an asshole to the kid who got held back?

Welcome back, everyone, it's good to see you all again!

We kick things off discussion what's been going on and what we've been doing for the last few months. We also tease a secret project that is in the works. We finally get to have our longtime friend, Erin, on the show. She has been following us for a long time and is also a frequent contributor to The Produce Stand. We break down the show and then get deep into our Thoughts/Theories/Observations where, OOOPS! IT'S ALL TROPES! We talked about what we really loved in the episode as well as some things we'd like to have more answers for.
Oh, and the Fuck - Fight - FERDA segment is AWESOME!
Come on in! There's room for everyone. Trust us...It's all that AND a bag of chips!
Pull up a pew, and grab a Puppers and a stud finder...we're makin' boar chops!
Today we cover everything you need to know about Letterkenny, Season 11, Episode 2 - Okoya!
In this episode we welcome another long time friend, first time guest, Kacey, to to dig in to the episode with us.
We start with a short recap of the prior episode (Chips) with Erin.
We have the full episode recap including favorite clips.
Thoughts/Theories/Observations:
Loved the reaction from Wayne when Katy told him to sit down.
Glen and his “Idrises Elba”.
More tropes.
Why when Katy has perfect tarts, was she not selling tarts instead of Gail?
Maybe Katy's tarts are just for family.
Wayne and Rosie are so fucking adorable.
Rosie is the best Wayne partner.
Rosie and Tanis are like so fucking cool with each other.
Wayne needs someone who understands him and Rosie has from the beginning.
Tyler Johnston; acting as somebody who's acting as somebody who's a terrible actor.
You can’t pigeonhole Canadian comedy.
Glen and Tanis, besties?
Gail and Coach.
Rosie really becoming one of the gang this season, in more episodes this season than Dary.
Kacey’s guide to tickling the roof of your mouth with your tongue.
Always stroke “The V” with your tongue.
Slowly stroke “The V” with your tongue.
It's got to be gentle or else you'll hurt yourself. You'll hurt your tongue.
Deeper, gentle, longer tongue strokes.
Stewart and Roald hissing at Jesus and all his Idrises Elba.
Coach continually gets creepier as the show goes on.
Docking, soaking, putting a one in the two
Was Coach a Christian youth?
What’s “Freshy”? (it’s a drink like Kool Aid)
Kacey’s own “Okoya” fiasco.
Does Tang still exist?
Walking into “Okoya” is like walking into a labyrinth of hell with little arrows on the ground that don't even point you in the right direction and has no David Bowie at the end.
People having sex in Okoya floor samples.
Theory: These first two episodes are an indication to the audience that they’ve done their existing tropes enough that it’s time to move and to be prepared for them to start putting their old tropes away.
Kacey, JJ Frankie JJ, and the potato.
What do you think could scare Wayne to make him stop hiccupping?
Pedro Pascal

I don't have anything specific for myself, I can be found on Facebook at PhoenixDown Farm but I don't have anything I really want to promote there. However, I do have something I feel really strongly about and would like promoted as long as you are comfortable shouting this out on the podcast... And that is The Trevor Project. I don't know if you are familiar with them but they are an amazing resource for LGBTQ+ teens/young people who are struggling. As the mom of a person who came out as transgender at 15 and now is an amazing young adult I am hyper aware of the struggles LGBTQ+ young people go through. I am constantly heartbroken by the ways these amazing young people are rejected by their families and it is really important to me for them to get support and acceptance from someone. Not everyone has a loving mom and stepdad like my Seth. I suspect you guys will be ok with shouting out the Trevor Project, but if not if you could just send folks to PhoenixDown Farm on Facebook for pictures of goats and ducks that would be cool, too.

Letterkenny Table Read – Ain’t No Reason To Get Excited
Because of our VIP Letterkenny Live tickets, we were given an autographed Letterkenny Episode #1 pilot script. So, we decided to get together with our pals from The Produce Stand along with longtime buddies Awesome, Dennis Gugin, Demond Thompson, and Bryan Tann and do a live table read. We hope you have as much fun listening as we did recording.
It’s the first crossover collaboration ‘cast ever conveyed by our countenances to your communication contraptions. The Produce Stand and How Are Ya Now bring you: SHORESY: THE RECAP!
Joined by our friends Awesome and Aimee, we all break down what made the premiere season so amazing!
Timeline - Wayne doesn't mention Marie-Fred as a reason he's not going to the dating event. Also, Stewart's hair is long again and he's drinking and doing drugs again (no longer sober).
Wayne and Stewart swapping language. ("Hard no" and "Wondrous")
Joined be another new face to the show but a long time YEWniverse bud, Tres Webb, we get into the nitty gritty of dog rescuing as we cover Letterkenny, Season 11, Episode 3 - Lost Dog
Letterkenny's lovable losers lark about, lamenting their lack of love, but light up when a local dog goes missing. The search sparks stories, strategies and silly shenanigans, as Stewart, Roald, Katy, Glen and Rosie rally to rescue the runaway rover. Meanwhile, Reilly and Jonesy's date gets delayed, but when they finally get together, they warn their sweeties to stay away from the hockey barn, where the merciless Shoresy will be sure to hurl horrible insults. Ellen employs her extrasensory expertise to try and track down the dog, however the Dycks have taken the pup in and nursed him back to health, prompting the generous group to offer them the dog. In the end, everyone feels fulfilled and free, as they frolic with friends and family on a farm, feeling like a family with their furry friend.
Heather Beebe: 1. Why do ducks have flat feet? To stomp out forest fires. Why do elephants have flat feet? To stomp out burning ducks! 2. Why do elephants paint their toenails all different colors? To hide in jelly bean jars. Have you ever seen an elephant in a jelly bean jar? (No) That's how you know it works!
