This was super interesting to look into. I had no idea that they had a union until now. I do hope that they gain some power and they improve the working conditions. We need artist to be happy and healthy so that they can make great art for us to enjoy.

It does seem that the VFX team behind the marvel movies has voted to unionize. I defiantly would have mentioned that in this episode but I had already finished it before I heard. I wish them the best of luck.

This is the first episode of the History of Animation. I decided to start off with one of the earliest animators. He invented techniques for animation that are still used to this day. This is an episode about the first animated film ever made. I wish we could see this film. I know that we would likely not understand it at all since it is about politics in Argentina that are over 100 years old but still. I am including links to my resources in case anyone wants to learn more.

03 Jan 2024J. Stuart Blackton creator of Humorous Phases of Funny Faces00:06:30

Like I mentioned I took a brake for a few reasons. I got sick, I was busy with other projects and I also wasn't sure if I should make anything related to the studios that where getting striked. I feeling better and now that the strikes are over I want to release more episodes again. I started a discord server so please join and we can talk about animation history. I would love to know what you all want to learn more about.

15 Mar 2023Rotoscoping00:05:18

This technique of animation is very important to it's history. I am sure that many animated films could never have been made with out it. So that is why I decided to make an episode dedicated to it. Here are some resources if you want to learn more.

I remembered learning about him in school but I didn't know about how we lost so many of his films. It is really such a shame. Doing research for this podcast has made me realized how important media preservation is. On another note I am going to take a brake from posting episodes for a while. I am currently working on multiple projects and so I needed to drop something. Don't worry episodes will return.http://www.frenchfilms.org/biography/georges-melies.htmlhttps://www.imdb.com/name/nm0617588/bio/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_smhttps://www.victorian-cinema.net/melieshttps://www.britannica.com/biography/Georges-Melieshttps://www.bfi.org.uk/features/georges-melies-autobiography

before looking into this I had assumed that the reason the studio wasn't around was cause there cartoons were to old fashion or something. It's so weird to know its just cause of company buy outs and stuff.https://www.britannica.com/topic/Tom-and-Jerryhttps://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/HannaBarberahttps://www.referenceforbusiness.com/history2/6/Hanna-Barbera-Cartoons-Inc.htmlhttps://www.britannica.com/biography/Hanna-and-Barberahttps://www.illustrationhistory.org/artists/hanna-barbera
