01 Mar 2022Episode 43 - Strength vs Technique - How To Properly Increase Your Draw Weight00:58:04

Episode 43 is about strength vs technique.  You can be as strong as an ox, but without proper technique, pulling back a 40 or 50lb bow could be really difficult.  It all boils down to technique.  We will go over my method when it comes to drawing properly, what it really comes down to, and how its easier to escalate your draw weight than you would think.  We'll cover how i get my students shooting practically any draw weight they desire as long as they follow this simple method.

And as always there is another edition of don't be that guy.  Have to apologize in advance, this one got really heated.  But its one of those subjects that tends to set me off!

05 Nov 2020Episode 30 - Deer Management and New Hunters00:38:52

Episode 30 features 3 of our shooters, Mom Jessica, and her Daughters Katelynn and Leiyan.  Anyone who looks at our Instagram page will instantly recognize them as they are usually making some incredible shots and they've only been shooting since August!  In this episode we go over what its like to get started as a shooter and get into hunting.  And we will be talking about why its important to get people into hunting, especially to manage deer populations.

We actually recorded this podcast live on film in front of a documentary crew who was filming footage for an upcoming video about deer overpopulation and management in suburban areas.  It was a fun time for sure!

10 Jan 2022Episode 39 - The Podcast returns with special guest Anthony of the Off Center Archers01:16:43

A short time ago, i decided that with so many things going on in my life, namely a divorce, serious health issues, and a few other things, it was no longer possible to keep the High Power Archery Operations going.  Between the podcast, coaching, and working on customer equipment, it became nearly impossible to dedicate the time necessary to keep it all going at the level which my students, listeners and customers deserved.

A few months later, and after talking with both my students and someone very close to me, I've decided to get things going again.  In this episode, I'm joined by Anthony, one half of the Off Center Archers.  Very few people knew what was going on in my life when i hung it all up, but it was through the support of people like Anthony that i was able to get things back together and make the changes necessary to put things back on track again.

In this episode, we go over what's happened, and what's changing.  More importantly we talk about what each of us is doing to get back to doing what we love.  We also have some laughs along the way.  Should be an interesting listen at the very least for the fans.

This is the first podcast in our third season.  it will be followed by uploads of our instructional videos to our YouTube Channel and muc more to come.  Its certainly good to be back!

11 Feb 2022Episode 41 - Blank Bale Practice - Target Panic Cure? Umm...No...But....01:00:41

Episode 41 is all about blank bale shooting.  Preached as the only cure for target panic by most coaches, its really not what its cracked up to be.  In fact, used improperly, it can make things worse.  Its has its purpose but not necessarily in the way its been pumped up as as end all be all cure for this dreaded problem.  Don't worry, we get into how to use it properly and how we address target panic in other ways.

06 Feb 2022Episode 40 - Rigid Form and Coaching - You can't make this stuff up!00:51:16

Episode 40 is all about being too rigid when it comes to coaching form or a particular system.  What works for some will not work for everyone.  Sometimes coaches make their students bend and conform to a particular system just for the sake of it, or because its what's supposed to be done.  And the results are often detrimental to the students.

We will also get into what to do if you don't have access to a coach nearby, what to do, and how to make it work for you.  The fact is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting improvement just doesnt work.  We get into how you can fix shooting problems with just a few small tricks that most coaches know but won't tell you.

10 Mar 2021Episode 34 - Tim Zelenka and the Adjustable Red Dot Bow Sight00:50:40

Episode 34 is all about a new product we tested called the Adjustable Red Dot Bow sight.  We had the pleasure of speaking with the man behind the sight, Tim Zelenka.  Its a concept that has been tried before but Tim has found a way to make it work and a design that is durable and machine to the tightest of tolerances.

We go over how the sight works as well as our experiences using it.  Like other products we review, we put this one to the test and as we aren't sponsored by anyone, we just put out the simple facts of what we found testing the sight with real everyday people......our students!

We're always looking for new innovative products that actually work, and this one does not disappoint.  For more information, you can contact Tim at https://adjustablereddot.com.  He's a friendly down to earth guy who will answer any question you might have.
