This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Daniel 2.Ā  Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Daniel who was a Jewish man who was taken to Babylon when he was very young. Daniel served in the king’s service as a wise man. The king of Babylon was a man named Nebuchadnezzar, and one night he had such disturbing dream that he couldn’t sleep. He called in some of the wise men of his kingdom and demanded that they tell him what he had dreamed. The wise men said, ā€œTell us the dream and we will tell you what it means.ā€

But the king told them that they must tell him what the dream was and what it meant. If they did, they would be rewarded, but if they didn’t they would be severely punished.Ā

The wise men asked again for the king to tell them what the dream was and then they would tell him what it meant. But the king wanted them to tell him what the dream was.

The wise men said that the king’s request was impossible and that no one except the gods can tell someone a dream. The king was furious when he heard this and ordered that all the wise men of Babylon be killed. Because of the king’s decree, men were sent to find and kill Daniel and his friends.

When the men arrived, Daniel asked why the king had ordered such a thing. The men told Daniel what happened with the king’s dream and Daniel went at once to the king to ask for time to tell the king what his dream meant. Then Daniel told his friends - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego - to pray to God to show them the secret of the king’s dream.Ā

That night, God showed Daniel secret of the dream in a vision. Daniel praised God for this and then was taken to the king. Daniel said, ā€œThere are no wise men, enchanters, magicians, or fortune-tellers who can reveal the king’s secret.Ā But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.ā€ And so Daniel told the king what his dream was and what it meant.Ā

The king bowed before Daniel and praised him. The king said to Daniel, ā€œTruly, your God is the greatest of gods, a revealer of mysteries for you have been able to reveal this secret.ā€ Then the king promoted Daniel to be the chief of all the wise men and also promoted his friends - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego - in the king’s court.

18 Nov 2022Pharoah šŸ‘‘, Baby Moses šŸ‘¶šŸ½, and a Princess šŸ‘øšŸ¾00:02:40

ā€œGod heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.ā€ Exodus 2:24-25

Exodus 1-2

We all want to know how our lives are going to turn out. We want to know where to go to school, what career we’re supposed to pursue, who we’re supposed to marry, how many kids we should have… the list goes on and on. The thought of the future can be overwhelming and terrifying, because it is unknown and out of our control. This causes lots of anxiety in us because we like control. Not only do we like it, but we crave it. It makes us feel powerful and safe.

We feel like if we only knew what we were supposed to do, if we only knew what God wanted for us, we would be less anxious and more ready and willing to trust that He really does have our best interest at heart. Trusting God is already hard enough, so why does He seem to be so silent on the big life decisions we have to make?Ā

In Exodus 1-2 Moses’ future was at risk from the very beginning of his life. From being born an Israelite and put into a basket to save his life from Pharaoh to growing up in an Egyptian household, Moses’ life was largely unknown and out of his control; but God protected him because He had great plans for him. At the same time that Moses was growing up in scary and uncomfortable circumstances, God was working within Moses to raise Him to rescue the Israelites from their slavery.Ā

To the Israelites in slavery, it probably felt like God wasn’t listening to them. Nothing about their circumstances changed to show that God was even listening to their cries, and they were less in control of their future than they had ever been before, but God was in control and working for their good so that they could be freed. The same is true about our lives and current circumstances. Our futures may seem out of our hands and far from God, but the God that protected Moses and had a great future in store for him is the same God that can be trusted with our future as well.Ā

Ā

Questions to think about:

  1. When you think about your future, do you tend to feel more anxious or at peace?
  2. How do you typically respond when things in your life feel out of control?
  3. Where in your life can you choose to let go and trust God more?

Jesus And The Wise Men

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Jesus and the Wise Men, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
  2. What did the wise men follow to find Jesus?
A star! God put a star in the sky so the wise men could know where to go to worship Jesus.
  3. How did King Herod feel when he heard about the new king’s birth?
He was angry! He wanted to be the only king, so he tricked the wise men and tried to find out where Jesus was so he could go kill him.
  4. What does it mean to worship? How did the wise men worship Jesus?
Worship is anything we say, do, or think that brings praise and thanks to God. The wise men bowed and brought Jesus gifts to show they worshiped him as the one true King.
  5. What are some ways you can worship Jesus this Christmas?
You can sing Christmas songs about Jesus and the first Christmas to worship and praise him. You can help your family get the house ready for Christmas. As you do, you can think about why Christmas is important and say thank you to God for sending Jesus at Christmas. You can read the Christmas story and think about why it is so important, and you can bring an offering to church to worship Jesus with a gift like the wise men did. An offering is money you choose to give to Jesus by giving to the church.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Cain and Abel’s Offering. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 4:1-5. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Adam and this is Eve. They were the first man and woman that God created. Adam and Eve had two sons. Their first son was named Cain and their second son was Abel.Ā

When Cain and Abel grew up, Abel became a shepherd while Cain became a farmer. When it was time for the harvest, Cain and Abel both brought gifts to God.

Cain gathered some of the fruit of the ground and gave it to God. God wasn’t pleased with Cain and his gift and this made Cain upset. God asked, ā€œWhy are you so angry? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?ā€ God warned Cain about sin. God told Cain to be careful to not let sin control him, but instead to take control of sin.

Abel also gave a gift to God. Abel gave God the best of part of his first-born sheep from his flock. God was very pleased with Abel and his gift because he had given the best of what he had.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Naaman being healed. We referenced the following Biblical passages: 2 Kings 5:1-19. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Naaman who was a great leader in the army of the king of Aram. Though Naaman was a mighty warrior, he had leprosy which made him have sores all over his body. Naaman had a maid in his house who was a young girl from Israel. This young girl served Naaman’s wife. One day, the girl told Naaman’s wife, ā€œI wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy.ā€

So Naaman went to the king of Aram and told him what the young girl had said. The king told him to go see the prophet and gave him a letter to give the king of Israel. Naaman went to Israel and brought with him many gifts. He gave the letter from his king to the king of Israel which asked him to heal Naaman.

After the king of Israel read the letter, he became very upset because the king knew couldn’t heal Naaman. He thought the king of Aram was trying to pick a fight with him. But there was a man of God in Israel named Elisha. He was a prophet and his job was to tell people what God wanted him to say. He also had done many miracles through God’s power and healed people of sickness. So when he heard that the king of Israel was upset , he sent him a message that said, ā€œā€œWhy are you so upset? Send Naaman to me, and he will learn that there is a true prophet here in Israel.ā€

So Naaman went to Elisha’s house. But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: ā€œGo and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.ā€

This made Naaman angry because he thought Elisha would come to meet him and wave his hand over him to heal him as he called on God’s name. He didn’t understand why he would just need to wash in a river in Israel. So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.

But his officers encouraged Naaman to do what Elisha said and Naaman changed his mind. Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as Elisha had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!

Then Naaman went back to find Elisha. Naaman said to Elisha, ā€œNow I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.ā€

But Elisha refused to accept a gift from Naaman even after he offered a second time. So Naaman asked if he could take some of the dirt from Israel back home, and said he would only offer sacrifices to the one true God from then on.Ā

Elisha said, ā€œGo in peace.ā€ So Naaman started home again, healed from his leprosy by the power of God.Ā

17 Mar 2023How Not To Get Eaten By A Lion: The Life and Crime(?) of Daniel00:03:50

Daniel prayed. That's a good thing! But then the king passed a law that said NOBODY could pray (except to the king) for 30 days. God said to pray, the king said not to pray. What should Daniel do? What would you do? Oh yeah, there's one other thing... if you DO pray you get fed to a bunch of hungry lions.Ā

Prayer is talking to God

Daniel would continuously talk to God through prayer. Even when he was threatened to be thrown into the lion’s den, Daniel would continue to pray to God.

Devote
yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
– Colossians 4:2

Daniel 2, Daniel 6

Daniel and the Lion’s Den
Daniel was a very good, faithful man, who always obeyed God. He would pray to God consistently, three times a day. Daniel had a very close relationship to God due to how often he would talk to God through prayer and because of his unshakable faith. God also gave Daniel an incredible gift—Daniel was able to interpret dreams. This gift led Daniel to successfully interpreted King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. The king then gave Daniel a high up position in the kingdom and gave him many gifts. Because Daniel was so smart, other wise men in the kingdom were very jealous. Their jealousy led them to convince King Darius to make a new law—that the people were only allowed to pray to the king. If people chose not to obey this law, they would be thrown in the lion’s den. These jealous men knew that Daniel would never obey this law since he would pray to God several times a day.

Daniel continued to pray in his room, even when he had heard about this new law. After the jealous men saw him do this, they told King Darius. This made King very upset because he cared for Daniel and tried to get him out of trouble, but knew there was no way around it. Before throwing him in the den, King Darius told Daniel ā€œYour God, to whom you are so loyal, is going to get you out of this.ā€ The next morning, King Darius went to check on Daniel and heard Daniel say ā€œMy God sent his angel to shut the lion’s mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have wronged you, Your majesty.ā€ Daniel had not been harmed! They both knew that Daniel was protected because he had completely trusted God and had faith in Him. Daniel had a great amount of love for the Lord. Daniel also had a deep and personal connection to God because he would intentionally talk to God all the time through prayer. Regardless of the situation he was facing, he would make time to pray. Sometimes, we can get so caught up in our daily routine, that we neglect to prioritize our quiet time with God. But the truth is, God wants to hear from us—He wants us to talk to Him because of His love for each and every one of us.

I can talk to God.

Ā
Questions to think about:

1. Why did Daniel continue to pray, even when he knew his life would be threatened?
2. Why did Daniel have such a close relationship with God?
3. How can I remember to talk to God on a daily basis?

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of The Baptism of Jesus. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; John 1:29-34. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus who is the son of God and the Savior of the world. Jesus was born in Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth where he grew in wisdom and favor with God and man.Ā

This is John the Baptist. John loved God with his whole heart and he told everyone that the savior of the world was coming soon.Ā

John baptized people in the Jordan River. And one day, Jesus went to this river to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it.Ā

Jesus said, ā€œIt should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.ā€ So John baptized Jesus. And as Jesus came out of the water, the heavens opened and John saw the Holy Spirit coming down as a dove and resting on Jesus.Ā

A voice from heaven said, ā€œThis is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.ā€Ā

And then John knew, without any doubt, that this was the one they had all been waiting for. This was the Chosen One of God who would take away the sin of the world.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Sarah Laughs. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 18:1-5, 21:1-3. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Sarah and this is her husband Abraham. Sarah was very old and had never had any children. One day Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the day when the Lord appeared to him. Abraham saw three men standing nearby and he ran to welcome them.

He asked them to stay with him for a while to rest and eat. The men agreed. So Abraham had Sarah and his servant prepare food for them men. When the food was ready, Abraham took the food and served it to the men. As they ate, Abraham waited on them in the shade of the trees.

ā€œWhere is Sarah, your wife?ā€ the visitors asked.

ā€œShe’s inside the tent,ā€ Abraham said.

Then one of them said, ā€œI will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!ā€

Sarah was listening to this from the tent. She laughed silently to herself because she thought it was funny to think that she and Abraham could have a child in their old age.Ā

Then the Lord said to Abraham, ā€œWhy did Sarah laugh? Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.ā€

Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, ā€œI didn’t laugh.ā€

But the Lord said, ā€œNo, you did laugh.ā€

A year later, Sarah did have a son. The son’s name was Isaac. God’s promises came true for Abraham and Sarah. Abraham became the father of many nations and from his child came children and from their children, more children, until Abraham’s descendants were truly more numerous than the stars in the sky, just as the Lord had promised.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jesus, the True Vine. We referenced the following Biblical passages: John 15: 1-17. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus who is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. While Jesus was on earth, He healed many people from their sickness and did many miracles like walking on water.Ā

At this time, the Jewish people were celebrating a festival called Passover that had been celebrated since the time of Moses, when God brought His people out of Egypt. Jesus went to Jerusalem to celebrate. Jesus and His disciples were having the Passover meal together. Jesus told them many things of what was to come and the trials they would face.

Then Jesus told his disciples that he is like the true grapevine and God is the gardener. God will cut off any branch that doesn’t produce fruit. He will also prune a branch, so it can produce more fruit. Jesus told his disciples that God had already done this to them because of what Jesus had taught them. Jesus said, ā€œRemain in me and I will remain with you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is cut off from the vine.ā€Ā

Then he said, ā€œYes I am the vine and you are the branches.ā€ He told them that if they continued to have a relationship with him, they would produce much fruit. But if they didn’t continue to have a relationship with him, they would wither away. Branches that wither away like that are thrown into the fire. Jesus said that if his disciples remained in him that they would be able to ask anything in Jesus name and it would be given. They would bear much fruit, and this would bring great glory to God.Ā

Then Jesus said that he loved his disciples as God the Father loved him. He told his disciples to remain in his love by obeying his commandments. Then he gave them a new commandment – to love each other in the same way that he loved them. Jesus told his disciples that they were his friends. He said, ā€œThere is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.ā€ He told them all this so that they would have great joy!

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jonah. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Jonah 1-3.Ā  Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jonah. Jonah was a prophet. That means it was his job to tell people what God told him to say. One day, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh because the people of Nineveh were doing bad things.

But instead, Jonah ran away and went to the port to board a ship going the other way. He was hoping to get away from God.Ā

He sailed for a place called Tarshish. While he was at sea, God sent a great and powerful wind over the sea that caused a storm that seemed like it would break the ship apart. Fearing for their lives, the sailors tried everything they could think of to save the ship.Ā

Meanwhile, Jonah was sound asleep. So the captain went down and said, ā€œHow can you sleep at a time like this? Get up and pray to your god! Maybe he will help us!ā€

Then the crew figured out that Jonah was the reason for the storm and they asked him, ā€œWho are you? Why is this happening to us?ā€

Jonah told them who he was and that he worshipped the one true God who made the sea. Then he told the sailors to throw him in the sea so the storm would stop.

The sailors still tried to escape the storm, but it was no use. So they asked God for forgiveness and threw Jonah into the sea. The storm stopped at once. The sailors were amazed at God’s power and they vowed to serve Him.Ā

Now God sent a great fish to swallow Jonah and Jonah was inside the fish for three days and nights. Jonah prayed to God from inside the fish and God ordered the fish to spit Jonah out.Ā

God told Jonah again to go to the city of Nineveh and tell them what God had said about them. This time Jonah obeyed God and went to Nineveh to deliver God’s message. The people of Nineveh stopped doing bad things and turned to God. They were saved because they listened to the message that God had given Jonah.

02 Dec 2022Who made everything? šŸŒŽ00:03:47

God blessed them and said to them, ā€œBe fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.ā€ Genesis 1:28

Genesis 1-2

Have you ever house-sat before? Usually it includes a long list of responsibilities like checking the mail, watering the plants, rolling trashcans in and out and caring for animals while the owner is away. It is a big undertaking, but it proves how much the owners trust you if you are asked to take care of their home and everything in it while they leave. In the same way, when God created the Earth, He asked humans to take care of it. Talk about a big responsibility!

It only took God six days to create the Earth and everything in it: light, darkness, sky, land, seas, sun, moon, stars, plants, animals and finally man and woman. When He brought humans into this world, God told them that He had created this place for them! What an awesome gift! However, it was Adam and Eve’s responsibility to care for it and be good stewards of what He had entrusted them with.

This may seem like a big job for us to continue fulfilling this today, but since humans were created in the image of God, we have been given characteristics of God that naturally make us want to care for the things He cares for. When we become followers of Christ, we begin to take on many of His qualities and desires. One of these being the desire to care for the Earth. We do this in both big and small ways by throwing away our trash, not wasting food, being gentle and loving toward animals and even something as simple as watering the plants!

God put a lot of thought and care into this beautiful world He created for us and the least we can do is put the same thought and care into appreciating and maintaining it.

Questions to think about:

  1. What does it mean to be created in God’s image?
  2. What is something God created that makes you feel His presence and appreciate His power?
  3. What is one way you can do your part to be a good steward of God’s creation?

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Peter heals a beggar who can’t walk . We referenced the following Biblical passages: Acts 3. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Peter who was one of Jesus’ disciples. Peter told people about Jesus.Ā  Peter and John went to the Temple to pray. As they neared the Temple, a man who couldn’t walk from the time he was born was being carried in. Each day, the man was put beside the Temple gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When the man saw Peter and John, he asked them for some money.Ā

Peter said, ā€œLook at us.ā€ The man looked up at them eagerly, thinking that they would give him some money. But Peter said, ā€œI don’t have any money for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ, get up and walk!ā€

Then Peter took the man by the hand and helped him up. As he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up and began to walk! Then walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.Ā

All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the man who couldn’t walk who had been sitting outside the gate asking for money, they were absolutely amazed!

Peter asked the people, ā€œWhat’s so surprising about this? Why stare at us as though we made this man walk by our own power?ā€ He reminded all of the people that it was God’s power who healed this man and encouraged all of them to turn from their sins and follow God with their whole hearts.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of The Fiery Furnace . We referenced the following Biblical passages: Daniel 3.Ā  Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

There once were three Jewish men named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. When they were very young, they were taken from Israel to live in a place called Babylon. At that time the king of Babylon was a man named Nebuchadnezzar and he made a gold statue that was ninety feet tall. The king sent a message for everyone to come to the dedication of his statue. When everyone had assembled, it was declared that people of all races, nations, languages would bow before the statue and worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s statue when they heard the sound of musical instruments. If anyone refused, they would be thrown into a fiery furnace.Ā

So at the sound of the musical instruments, all the people bowed to the ground and worshipped. But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not because they were Jewish and would only bow to the one, true God. Some of the wise men of Babylon went to the king and told him that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the statue. This made the king very angry and he asked Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego if it was true that they would not bow to the statue. Then he said that he would give them one more chance to bow down, and if they did not bow they would be thrown into the fire.Ā

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied that they didn’t need to defend themselves against the king. They said, ā€œIf we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty.Ā But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.ā€

The king was so angry with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that he commanded the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual. Then he ordered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be bound and thrown in the fire. The fire was so hot that it killed the soldiers that threw them in. So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego fell into the flames. Ā

But suddenly, the king jumped up and said to his advisors, ā€œDidn’t we tie up three men and throw them in the furnace?ā€

The advisors said yes, but the king said, ā€œLook! I see four men walking around the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!ā€ Then the king shouted to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ā€œCome out!ā€

So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire and everyone saw that the fire had not touched them, they didn’t even smell of smoke. Then Nebuchadnezzar praised the one, true God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who had rescued them from the fire. And the king made a new command that anyone who spoke a word against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would be greatly punished. Then he promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in his court. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted in God and were willing to die rather than worship any god but their own God.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Gideon's 300 Men. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Judges 7. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Gideon who was a judge of Israel. In the time when Gideon lived, the Israelites were being over taken by a group called the Midianites. The Midianites were so cruel that the Israelites hid from them and were starving because the Midianites were taking all their food and ruining the land. So the Israelites called out to God and ask Him to help. God chose Gideon to rescue the Israelites from the Midianites and gave him the power to lead an army of Israelites.Ā

One day Gideon and his army got up early and came close to the Midianite camp. God told Gideon that he had too many warriors with him. God said, ā€œIf I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.ā€ So God told Gideon to let all the men who were scared go home. So 22,000 men went home and Gideon was left with only 10,000.Ā

But God told Gideon that he still had too many men with him. He told Gideon to bring the men down to the water and that God would give them a test. Gideon did as God asked and then God said, ā€œDivide the men in two groups. In one group put all those who cup water in their hands and lap it up with their tongues like dogs. In the other group put those who kneel down and drink with their mouths in the stream.ā€ Only 300 of the men drank from their hands.Ā

God told Gideon, ā€œWith these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Send all the others home.ā€ So Gideon did as God said.Ā

Now the Midianite camp was in the valley just below where Gideon and his 300 men were. That night God told Gideon to get up and go down to the camp to listen to what the Midianites were saying. God told Gideon that if he was afraid he could take his servant Purah with him. So Gideon and Purah went to the edge of the enemy camp.Ā

The enemy army was huge! There were too many men and camels for Gideon to even count! Gideon crept up close to the camp and heard a man telling his friend about his dream. The man said that in his dream a loaf of bread came tumbling down to the camp and knocked a tent down flat. His friend said the dream could only mean one thing - that God had given Gideon victory over the Midianites.Ā

When Gideon heard this, he worshipped God. Then he went back to the Israelite camp and shouted, ā€œGet up! For God had given you victory over the Midianites!ā€ He divided his 300 men into three groups and gave them a ram’s horn and a clay jar with a torch in it.Ā

Then he said, ā€œKeep your eyes on me. When I come to the edge of the camp, do just as I do.ā€ So the Israelite army went down to the enemy camp. It was just after midnight, after the changing of the guard. Suddenly, the Israelites blew their horns and broke their jars. They held blazing torches in one hand and horns in their other and all shouted, ā€œA sword for the Lord and for Gideon!ā€Ā

Gideon and his 300 men stood in position around the camp and watched as all the Midianites rushed around in a panic and tried to escape! Then they blew their ram horns and God caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other. Some of them escaped, but Gideon called for the warriors of the other tribes in Israel to cut them off and so God used Gideon and his army of 300 men to defeat the Midianite army, just as He said He would.Ā

This is John. John was a disciple of Jesus. He heard Jesus’ teaching and saw how much Jesus loved people. John spent the rest of his life telling others about Jesus. John wrote letters to people who believed in Jesus to encourage them and teach them.Ā

In one of his letters, he wrote about real love. He said that we know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we should do the same for others. If someone has enough money to live well and sees another in need but doesn't help them - how can God’s love really be in that person? John said, Let’s not merely say that we love each other but let’s show our love for people through our actions.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of God’s Promise for Abraham. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 13:14-18; 15; 17; 21:1-6. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

Genesis 13:14-18; 15; 17; 21:1-6

This is Abram. Who will later be known as Abraham. When Abram was in the land called Canaan, God told him to look over the land as far as his eyes could see. God promised that the land would be blessed and that Abram would have many children.Ā
Ā
Many years passed and Abram and Sarai were very old and still had no children. God appeared to Abram and said, ā€œDo not be afraid! I am your shield. A son is coming. Look at the heavens and count the stars. Someday you will have as many children as there are stars in the sky.ā€
Ā
Years later, Abram and Sarai still had no children. God appeared to Abram again and told Abram that his name would no longer be Abram but it would be Abraham, which means ā€œFather of many nations.ā€ God also told Abraham that Sarai’s name would be changed to Sarah.Ā
God promised to bless Sarah and told Abraham that she would become pregnant and have a son.Ā
Ā
God made a covenant with Abraham and God gave Abraham a way to show that he and his children were part of God’s covenant. Abraham and Sarah did have a son named Isaac. God’s promises came true for Abraham and Sarah. Abraham became the father of many nations and from his child came children and from their children, more children, until Abraham’s descendants were truly more numerous than the stars in the sky, just as the Lord had promised.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of God Sends the Holy Spirit. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Acts 2. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

These are the Apostles. They followed Jesus during his time on earth. Before Jesus went to heaven, He told them to stay in Jerusalem until God sent the gift he promised. So after Jesus went to heaven the apostles stayed in Jerusalem along with the other people who believed in Jesus.

One day they were all gathered together when there was a sound from heaven like a mighty windstorm! Then what looked like flames appeared and settled on each of them and everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gave them the ability to speak in other languages and so they started speaking.

At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. When they heard the loud noise, they came running to see what it was. When they saw the believers speaking in their own languages, they were shocked and amazed!Ā

They wondered, ā€œHow can this be? These people are from Galilee and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages about the wonderful things God has done! What can this mean?ā€ But others in the crowds didn’t believe that it was really a miracle and thought the believers were just acting oddly.Ā

Then Peter stepped forward and shouted to the crowd, ā€œListen carefully all you!ā€ He told them that they were not acting strangely but that this was from God. He reminded them that God said this would happen long ago. Then Peter told them about how Jesus was crucified but then raised to life again just as God had said he would be. He told them that Jesus was now in heaven and that God had given the Holy Spirit to them as he had promised.Ā

Peter’s words changed what the people thought and felt, and they asked, ā€œBrothers, what should we do?ā€

Peter told them, ā€œEach of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.ā€ Peter continued to preach to the crowd for a long time and those who believed what Peter said were baptized.Ā  3000 people were baptized and added to the church that day.Ā

Then all the believers listened to the apostles teaching and practiced what they taught. They met together in fellowship, shared meals, and prayed together. They were greatly amazed as the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. All the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They helped those in need, worshipped together at the temple every day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy all while praising God and enjoying each other. And each day God added to their fellowship those who were being saved.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Noah and the Flood. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 6-9:17. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

Genesis 6-9:17
This is Noah. Noah was a good man who tried to do the right thing. But in the time when Noah lived, he was the only man on earth who was doing the right thing. All the other people on earth were doing evil things and hurting each other. This made God very sad. So God said that he was going to send a flood to the earth that would destroy every living thing on earth because he was sorry he ever made them. But God decided to save Noah and his family!

God told Noah to build a boat and fill it with two of every kind of animal and bird. Noah did just that, and then Noah and his whole family boarded the boat and waited for the flood to come. The rain fell hard for forty days and forty nights! Water covered the whole earth, and the boat floated safely on the surface. Water covered even the highest mountains on earth, but Noah and his family were saved.Ā

God remembered Noah and all the animals on the boat. God sent a wind to blow across the earth and the flood began to go away. After 5 months, the boat came to rest on a mountain top. A few months later, the other mountains could be seen. Forty days later, Noah opened a window and released a raven. The bird flew back and forth until the flood had dried up. He also sent a dove out to see if it could find dry ground. But the dove couldn’t find a place to land because there was still water on the ground. So, the dove returned to the boat. After another 7 days, Noah sent the dove out again. This time it came back with an olive leaf, so Noah knew that the floodwaters were almost gone. A week later, he sent the dove out again and it didn’t come back.

So many months after the flood began, Noah opened the covering of the boat and saw that the ground was drying. He waited two more months and at last, the earth was dry!

Then God said to Noah, ā€œLeave the boat, all of you. Release the animals so they can be fruitful and multiply throughout the earth.ā€ So Noah, his family, and all the animals finally left the boat!

Noah built an altar to the Lord to make a sacrifice to God. God was pleased with Noah’s offering and said to himself that he would never again destroy every living thing on earth. God blessed Noah and his sons and promised them that he would never send another flood. He gave them the rainbow in the sky as a sign of this promise to Noah, his family, and all mankind.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Nehemiah Rebuilds the Wall. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Nehemiah 1-13. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Nehemiah who was a Jewish man who worked for Persian king Artaxerxes, the king of Babylon. Many of the Jews were sent to Babylon years before because they had disobeyed God and followed after other gods. Ā
Ā
One day Nehemiah heard a report that the Jews who had returned to Judah were having a hard time and that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and the gates had been burned. This made Nehemiah sad. He didn’t eat any food for days and prayed to God for the Jews. He told God he was sorry for the wrong things he and his people had done. He reminded God of his promises and that God had said, ā€œIf you obey my commands, I will gather you together again.ā€ Nehemiah asked for God to give him success as he went to ask the king for help.
Ā
Nehemiah then went to do his job for the king. The king asked why Nehemiah was sad, so Nehemiah told the king about his people in Judah. Nehemiah prayed and told the king he wanted to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. He asked for letters from the king that would help him travel safely to Jerusalem and get the supplies he needed to rebuild the city. God helped Nehemiah and the king gave Nehemiah all he asked for.
Ā
Nehemiah went to Jerusalem and checked out the walls. He went to the people and said, ā€œCome on. Let’s rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.ā€ And the people agreed and started that good work.
Ā
Meanwhile, there were some officials from nearby lands who heard Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall and were upset. They laughed at the Jews and made fun of them. But Nehemiah said, ā€œThe God of heaven will give us success. We serve him.ā€ Many Jews worked together to rebuild the wall including the priests, men who worked with gold, a man who made perfume, leaders from nearby villages, servants, guards, traders, and daughters as well. All the people worked with all their hearts.
Ā
The officials from other lands planned to fight the Jews. But the Jews prayed to God and put guards on duty day and night. Nehemiah stationed people to defend the city where it was weak. From that day on, half of the people did the work with swords at their sides, and the other half were armed to defend the people working and the city. Nehemiah reminded them, ā€œOur God will fight for us!ā€
Ā
They worked from sunrise until the stars came out. The people in the city were being treated wrongly and this made Nehemiah very angry.Ā  He helped the people in the city get food and the money they needed to live. He corrected the leaders who were not helping the people as they should. He told them, ā€œWhat you are doing isn’t right.ā€ The leaders promised to do the things the way Nehemiah said.Ā
Ā
After 52 days, the city wall was finally finished! All of Judah’s enemies were afraid because they realized that God had helped finish the work. Jerusalem was large. It had a lot of room. But only a few people lived there. So God gave Nehemiah the idea to gather more people to come and live in Jerusalem now that the wall had been rebuilt, and many people returned home to Israel as God gathered his people together again.
Ā
A teacher of God’s law named Ezra came and read the Book of the Law to all the people who could understand. The Israelites admitted they had sinned, worshipped God, and promised to follow God’s commands. Nehemiah was the governor of Judah for twelve years, then he went back to his job with the king of Babylon.
Ā
Sometime later, Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem and found that some of the Israelites had not kept their promise to God. Nehemiah tried to set everything right and then he prayed to God saying, ā€œYou are my God. Please remember me with kindness.ā€

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jesus and the Shepherds. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Luke 2: 8-20. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus! Jesus is the Son of God who would grow up to do amazing things. His parents on earth were Mary and Joseph. Jesus was born in a barn because there was no room for him anywhere else in Bethlehem.Ā

On the night Jesus was born, there were some shepherds in a field keeping watch over their sheep. Suddenly, an angel appeared before them and a bright light shone all around them! The shepherds were so scared, but the angel said, ā€œDon’t be afraid. I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people! The Savior, yes the Messiah, the Lord has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!ā€

The angel told the shepherds that they would find Jesus in a barn wrapped in strips of cloth, laying in a manger. Then the angel was joined by many, many other angels, and all of them sang, ā€œGlory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.ā€Ā

Then the angels returned to heaven and the shepherds said to each other, ā€œLet’s go to Bethlehem!ā€ So they hurried to the village and found the baby Jesus laying in the manger.Ā

After seeing Jesus, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had told them about the baby Jesus. Everyone who heard the shepherds’ story were amazed. Mary made sure she remembered all these things and thought about them often.Ā

Then shepherds went back to their sheep, and praised God for all they had seen. The baby was exactly who the angel had told them he was - the Savior of the world, the Son of God!

15 Oct 2022The Story of Noah and the šŸŒ§ļø Flood šŸŒ§ļø00:03:39

Noah And The Flood

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Noah and the Flood, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
  2. How was Noah different from the people around him?
Noah was the only man on Earth who still walked with God and made the right choices. All of the other people were evil and were doing things God says are wrong.
  3. What were God’s instructions to Noah? Why might that have seemed strange?
God told Noah to build a boat and put two of each animal on it. It was strange because God warned of a flood, but it had never even rained like that before! Noah had to have faith and trust God’s plan.
  4. What did God promise Noah? How did he show this promise?
God promised he would never flood the Earth again, and he put a rainbow in the sky to show his promise.
  5. What are some of God’s plans for me?
To love him forever, to love other people, and to be a part of his family.
  6. Think about this part of our Bible verse: ā€œIn all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.ā€ What does it mean that God directs your path?
It means he tells us what is best and the right way to live. He does that by speaking to us through the Bible, through his helper the Holy Spirit, by talking to us through other Christians, or by talking to him in prayer.

Today's Bible Story Comes Genesis 6-8 (from Bible Gateway)

6 Then the people began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them. 2 The sons of God saw the beautiful women[a] and took any they wanted as their wives. 3 Then the Lord said, ā€œMy Spirit will not put up with[b] humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.ā€

4 In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.

5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. 7 And the Lord said, ā€œI will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.ā€ 8 But Noah found favor with the Lord.

The Story of Noah

9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. 10 Noah was the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. 13 So God said to Noah, ā€œI have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!

14 ā€œBuild a large boat[c] from cypress wood[d] and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. 15 Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.[e] 16 Leave an 18-inch opening[f] below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.

17 ā€œLook! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die. 18 But I will confirm my covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives. 19 Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. 20 Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive. 21 And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and for all the animals.ā€

22 So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.

The Flood Covers the Earth

7 When everything was ready, the Lord said to Noah, ā€œGo into the boat with all your family, for among all the people of the earth, I can see that you alone are righteous. 2 Take with you seven pairs—male and female—of each animal I have approved for eating and for sacrifice,[g] and take one pair of each of the others. 3 Also take seven pairs of every kind of bird. There must be a male and a female in each pair to ensure that all life will survive on the earth after the flood. 4 Seven days from now I will make the rains pour down on the earth. And it will rain for forty days and forty nights, until I have wiped from the earth all the living things I have created.ā€

5 So Noah did everything as the Lord commanded him.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Adam and Eve Sin. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 3. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Adam and this is Eve who were the first people on earth. They lived in the garden of Eden which was a beautiful place that had everything they needed. Adam and Eve took care of the animals and could eat from any of the trees in the garden except for one. This was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and God told them to not eat from this tree.Ā

There were lots of animals in the garden, but the serpent was the most clever of all the wild animals God had made. One day he asked the woman, ā€œDid God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?ā€

Eve said that they were able to eat from all of the fruit trees except the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden. For God said, ā€œYou must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.ā€

ā€œYou won’t die!ā€ said the serpent. ā€œGod knows that as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.ā€

The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to Adam and he ate it too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly realized they weren’t wearing clothes are were embarrassed. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.

When the cool evening breezes were blowing, Adam and Eve heard God walking about in the garden. So they hid from God among the trees. Then God called to Adam, ā€œWhere are you?ā€

Adam said, ā€œI heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.ā€

ā€œWho told you that you were naked?ā€ God asked. ā€œDid you eat from the tree I told you not to eat from?ā€

Adam said, ā€œIt was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.ā€

Then God asked Eve, ā€œWhat have you done?ā€

ā€œThe serpent tricked me,ā€ she replied. ā€œThat’s why I ate it.ā€

Then God punished the serpent by making it so he would crawl on his belly from then on. He told Eve that she would have great pain in her life. Then God said to Adam that because he listened to Eve and did not obey what God had told him to do, his life would be very difficult. He would have to work hard to get food to eat. God said, ā€œFor you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.ā€

Then God made them clothing from the animals. But God knew that Adam and Eve could no longer live in the garden because of their sin so he sent them away and closed up the garden.Ā

03 Jun 2023The Story of Daniel & The Lions' Den00:03:50

DANIEL IN THE LIONS’ DEN

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Daniel in the Lions’ Den, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
  2. What do we know about the kind of person Daniel was?
He was a faithful follower of God. He was brave and did what was right. He prayed to God often.
  3. How did the other officials feel about Daniel?
They were jealous and they wanted to get Daniel in trouble, but they couldn’t find anything wrong with him.
  4. What was the new law the king passed? What did Daniel do?
The law said that King Darius was the only one the people could pray to. Daniel continued to bow down and pray to God, so he was thrown in the lions’ den.
  5. How did God show Daniel he was real?
He sent an angel to shut the lions’ mouths. God kept Daniel safe!
  6. Spend a few minutes talking with your child about the memorial that the Israelites built with the stones from the riverbed. Help them choose a small item (stone, cross, etc.) that they can keep with them as a reminder of God’s faithfulness to them as an encouragement to follow God.

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is David. David was the second king of Israel. He was a great warrior, he loved God with all his heart, and he prayed to God often.

David loved God so much that he wanted to give him a special house to live in. But God told David that it wasn’t His plan for David to build this house. Even so, David thanked God for all He had done for him. He praised God for the great God that He is.Ā

David wrote many psalms, which are prayers and songs to God that are in the Bible. In many of his psalms, David began by thanking and praising God. He thanked God for answering his prayers and giving him victory over his enemies. He thanked God for guiding him and showing him the right path to take.Ā

David thanked God for always being with him. Even when David was an old man, he thanked God in front of all the people of Israel for all that He had done. He said to the people, ā€œGive praise to the Lord your God!ā€Ā

David talked to God his whole life and this is one reason why God said, ā€œI have found a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to.ā€

One day after preaching to a crowd of people, Jesus said to his disciples, ā€œLet’s cross to the other side of the lake.ā€ So they got into a boat and started out. Other boats followed him too and as they sailed across, Jesus fell asleep.

But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water and they were in real danger.

The disciples went and woke Jesus up, shouting, ā€œSave us! We are going to drown! Don’t you care if we drown?ā€

Jesus responded, ā€œWhy are you afraid? You have so little faith!ā€ Then He got up and rebuked the wind and waves saying, ā€œSilence! Be still!ā€ Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, ā€œWhere is your faith?ā€

The disciples were terrified and amazed. ā€œWho is this man?ā€ they asked each other. ā€œWhen he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!ā€

14 Apr 2025The Triumphal Entry00:03:08

THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, The Triumphal Entry , with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw or heard?
  2. Why was Jesus going to Jerusalem?
To celebrate Passover, a Jewish holiday. He was getting ready for what we celebrate at Easter: to die on a cross to save us from our sins
  3. Why did Jesus send two disciples ahead of him? Why is this detail important?
To get a young donkey for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem. It’s important because God had said a long time ago that this is how Jesus would enter Jerusalem – he was doing what God said he would do.
  4. Why did the people run to see Jesus?
They had heard about the amazing things Jesus had done and wanted to worship him.
  5. How did they worship Jesus?
They waved palm branches and laid coats on the street before him. They worshipped him like a king. They shouted, ā€œHosannaā€ which means, ā€œSave us!ā€
  6. What are some ways you can worship Jesus this Easter?
Getting ready for Easter by reading or watching the Easter story. Praying and thanking him for what Easter means. Singing, giving offerings to the church, and helping others are also all ways to worship God.

Today's story comes from Exodus 3 and 4. Here's the passage courtesy of Bible Gateway!

Moses and the Burning Bush

3 Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro,[a] the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb,[b] the mountain of God. 2 Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed. 3 So Moses thought, ā€œI must go over and look at this remarkable sight. Why isn’t the bush burning up?ā€

4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from the bush, ā€œMoses, Moses!ā€

ā€œHere I am,ā€ he answered.

5 ā€œDo not come closer,ā€ he said. ā€œRemove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.ā€ 6 Then he continued, ā€œI am the God of your father,[c] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.ā€ Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

7 Then the Lord said, ā€œI have observed the misery of my people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors. I know about their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the territory of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. 9 So because the Israelites’ cry for help has come to me, and I have also seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them, 10 therefore, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh so that you may lead my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.ā€

11 But Moses asked God, ā€œWho am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?ā€

12 He answered, ā€œI will certainly be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I am the one who sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship[d] God at this mountain.ā€

13 Then Moses asked God, ā€œIf I go to the Israelites and say to them, ā€˜The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ā€˜What is his name?’ what should I tell them?ā€

14 God replied to Moses, ā€œI AM WHO I AM.[e] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.ā€ 15 God also said to Moses, ā€œSay this to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

16 ā€œGo and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me and said: I have paid close attention to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 And I have promised you that I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey. 18 They will listen to what you say. Then you, along with the elders of Israel, must go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go on a three-day trip into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.

19 ā€œHowever, I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, even under force from a strong hand. 20 But when I stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all my miracles that I will perform in it, after that, he will let you go. 21 And I will give these people such favor with the Egyptians that when you go, you will not go empty-handed. 22 Each woman will ask her neighbor and any woman staying in her house for silver and gold jewelry, and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will plunder the Egyptians.ā€

Miraculous Signs for Moses

4 Moses answered, ā€œWhat if they won’t believe me and will not obey me but say, ā€˜The Lord did not appear to you’?ā€

2 The Lord asked him, ā€œWhat is that in your hand?ā€

ā€œA staff,ā€ he replied.

3 ā€œThrow it on the ground,ā€ he said. So Moses threw it on the ground, it became a snake, and he ran from it. 4 The Lord told Moses, ā€œStretch out your hand and grab it by the tail.ā€ So he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand. 5 ā€œThis will take place,ā€ he continued, ā€œso that they will believe that the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.ā€

6 In addition the Lord said to him, ā€œPut your hand inside your cloak.ā€ So he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, his hand was diseased, resembling snow.[f] 7 ā€œPut your hand back inside your cloak,ā€ he said. So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, it had again become like the rest of his skin. 8 ā€œIf they will not believe you and will not respond to the evidence of the first sign, they may believe the evidence of the second sign. 9 And if they don’t believe even these two signs or listen to ...

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Daniel in Nebuchadnezzar’s Court. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Daniel 1.Ā  Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Daniel who was a Jewish man who was taken to Babylon when he was very young. The king of Babylon was a man named Nebuchadnezzar, and he ordered Ashpenaz, his chief of staff, to bring some of the young men of Judah who were strong, healthy, and good looking to the palace. He wanted these men to be smart, and they would be trained for three years in the language and books of Babylon so they could serve the king. The king also ordered that they would be given food and drink from his own kitchens daily.Ā

Daniel and his three friends - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego - were four of the young men chosen from the tribe of Judah to enter the king’s training. But Daniel chose not to eat the food and drink given by the king because it was food that God had told his people not to eat. Daniel asked Ashpenaz for permission to not eat this food. Ashpenaz liked Daniel, but he told him that he was afraid that if Daniel didn’t eat the food that the king ordered, that he would become weak compared to the other young men, and that would get Ashpenaz in trouble with the king.

Daniel asked his attendant if he and his three friends could eat a diet of only vegetables and water for ten days and then be tested to see how they compared to the other young men. The attendant agreed.Ā

At the end of ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the king’s food. So after that, the attendant fed them only vegetables instead of the food and drink provided for the others.

God gave these four young men wisdom and a special understanding for things. God gave Daniel the ability to interpret visions and dreams. When the three years of training was over, all the young men were brought before the king, but no one impressed the king as much as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So the four men entered the king’s service and whenever the king asked them about something, he found them more capable than any of the other wise men in his kingdom.Ā

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Paul who told people about Jesus in lots of different places. One day Paul was walking with his friend Silas. They were being followed by a girl who was controlled by an evil spirt. Her owners used her to make money. After days and days of this happening, Paul got so annoyed that he turned around and told the evil spirit to leave her. So the girl was freed, but her owners got mad at Paul and Silas because they wouldn’t make any money off her anymore and they had them thrown in jail.Ā

The jailer locked them up. Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing to God and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was an earthquake and the chains of all the prisoners fell off. But Paul and Silas didn’t leave even though they could have. Several people decided to follow Jesus that night including the jailer and his whole family. And the next morning, they were released from jail and the city officials even apologized to them. Paul and Silas encouraged the Christians in the town and then continued on their mission to tell people about Jesus.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Moses and the Tent of Meeting. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Exodus 33: 7-11. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Moses who was an Israelite who grew up in the palace of the Egyptian Pharaoh. When Moses was much older, God called him to take His people out of Egypt with the help of his brother Aaron.

After God showed His miraculous power in Egypt, He led the Israelites through the Red Sea and towards the Promised Land. They followed God who showed himself as a cloud by day and fire by night.Ā

While they were in the wilderness, God and Moses would talk in a place called the Tent of Meeting. Moses would take the tent and pitch it outside the Israelite camp. Everyone who wanted to ask God for something would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp.

Whenever Moses went out to the Tent of Meeting, all the people would watch Moses until he disappeared inside. As he went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and hover at its entrance while the Lord spoke with Moses. Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, just as one speaks to a friend.

And because of what Jesus did on the cross, we can talk to God as if we are talking to a friend too.

Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem with his disciples and they came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. While Jesus was there, Martha’s sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to him while he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing.Ā

She came to Jesus and said, ā€œDoesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.ā€

But Jesus said to her, ā€œMy dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.ā€

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Moses In The Wilderness. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Exodus 14-24. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Moses. Who was a Israelite born in Egypt in a time where Israelite boys were not supposed to live. Moses however grew up in the palace of the Pharaoh, the very man who was enslaving the Israelite people.Ā

When Moses grew up, he made a big mistake and fled Egypt to live with the Midianites. But God called Moses back to Egypt to deliver His people with the help of his brother Aaron.

After God showed his miraculous power in Egypt, he led the Israelites through the Red Sea and towards the Promised Land. They followed God who showed himself as a cloud by day and fire by night.Ā

As God led them through the wilderness, the Israelites became thirsty and hungry. They complained to Moses and Aaron and said, ā€œIf only we had died in Egypt!ā€

God said to Moses that he would provide for his people. Ā  And each night God gave them meat. But God told them to only take what they needed for the day. The people ignored God and took more than what they needed and the food went bad.Ā

The people were still thirsty and they were mad at Moses saying, ā€œDid you bring us out here to die of thirst!?ā€ So Moses cried out to God and God told Moses to strike a rock and water came flowing out of it for the people to drink. And so the Lord provided for his people’s needs.Ā

After traveling in the desert for 3 months, they came to Mount Sinai and God called Moses from the top of the mountain. God spoke to Moses there of the future of his people and reminded him of the miracles of the past.Ā

After 3 days, there was thunder and lightning, as a thick cloud covered the mountain. The people heard a loud trumpet blast.

And Moses led the people to the foot of the mountain to meet with God. God called Moses and Aaron to meet him at the top of the mountain.Ā

God told them how His people were to live and how they were to honor him and respect each other. These rules that God told them are called the 10 commandments. The Israelites had seen for themselves that God had spoken to Moses from heaven. And the Israelites feared God, for his mighty power had brought them out of slavery and provided for them in the desert.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of the Parable of the Great Banquet. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Luke 14: 12-24. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

One day, Jesus went to eat at the house of a Pharisee. He said to the Pharisee who was hosting the meal, ā€œWhen you give a dinner, do not invite your friends, your family, or your rich neighbors. For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. But invite the poor and those who have trouble seeing and walking. Then God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.ā€

When a man at the table heard what Jesus said, he said to Jesus, ā€œWhat a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!ā€

Jesus replied with a story: A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ā€œCome, the banquet is ready.ā€

But they all began making excuses. One said, ā€œI have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.ā€Ā

Another said, ā€œI have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.ā€Ā

Another said, ā€œI just got married, so I can’t come.ā€

The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ā€œGo quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, and those who have trouble seeing and walking.ā€Ā

After the servant had done this, he reported, ā€œThere is still room for more.ā€Ā

So his master said, ā€œGo out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.ā€

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jacob and Esau. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Genesis 25:19-34, 26:34-28:10, 32-33. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jacob, who was later called Israel. Jacob was the father of 12 sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel. Jacob had a twin brother named Esau. Even when Jacob and Esau were in their mother’s belly, they fought. As the boys grew up, Esau liked to be outside and to hunt while Jacob was quiet and liked to stay home. Their father, Isaac, loved Esau because he liked eating what Esau hunted but Rebekah, their mother loved Jacob.Ā
Ā
Esau had a birthright which means he would get special things and privileges because he was the first born. One day Jacob was making a stew and Esau came home so hungry and asked for some. Jacob said he would trade Esau some stew for his birthright. Esau agreed and Jacob was given Esau’s birthright.Ā
Ā
Later on, Isaac their father was getting very old and he wanted to bless his son Esau. Isaac’s blessing was very important and Rebekah wanted Jacob to have the blessing instead of Esau. So, Rebekah told Jacob to pretend to be Esau and go to his father for the blessing. Isaac was turning blind so he believed that Jacob was Esau and blessed him. Esau came to his father to get his blessing, but Isaac had already given it to Jacob. All of this made Esau hate his brother Jacob. Esau made plans to kill his brother. Rebekah heard of this and had Isaac send Jacob away to live with her family.
Ā
For many years, Jacob lived with his uncle and worked in the field taking care of his flock. He started a family and gained many servants, cattle, donkeys, sheep, and goats. God told Jacob to leave his uncle’s land and go back to the land of his father.Ā
Ā
So, Jacob took his family and everything he owned and traveled back home. Jacob knew that his brother would be there though, so he sent messengers ahead and heard that Esau had an army of 400 men with him! Jacob prayed to God and asked for him to rescue him from Esau. Then he sent gifts ahead of him for his brother. That night Jacob was alone in his camp, for he had sent his family and everything he had ahead of him.Ā

A man came and wrestled with him until dawn. The man saw that he wouldn’t win so he touched Jacob’s hip and said, ā€œLet me go!ā€ But Jacob said, ā€œI will not let you go unless you bless me!ā€Ā
Ā
Then the man gave Jacob a new name. He said, ā€œFrom now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and men and have won.ā€ The man blessed Jacob. Jacob left that place but he had a limp because of the injury to his hip. Then Jacob looked up and saw his brother Esau coming with his 400 men. Jacob went ahead of his family and bowed to his brother. Esau ran to meet Jacob and hugged him. They both wept. Jacob introduced Esau to his family and gave him a gift even though Esau said he had enough. After everything Jacob and Esau had been through, the brothers made peace with each other. And Jacob went on to be the father of the great nation of Israel.Ā

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus. Who is the Son of God and the Savior of the World. Jesus did many amazing things. He taught everyone about God’s love, healed people from their sickness, and even calmed storms!Ā

One day a crowd met Jesus as he was getting off a boat. A Jewish leader came to Jesus and begged Jesus to help him. Jesus went with the man and the crowd followed him. A woman in the crowd had been sick for twelve years and spent all her money to pay doctors to help her, but she had only gotten worse. She heard about Jesus, and she thought to herself, ā€œIf I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.ā€ So the woman came up behind Jesus and touched his robe. Immediately, the woman was healed!Ā

Jesus felt that healing power had gone out from him, so he asked, ā€œWho touched my robe?ā€

Everyone in the crowd said they didn’t touch him, and Peter told Jesus that the whole crowd was touching him. But Jesus kept looking because he knew someone touched him on purpose because he felt healing power go out from him. The woman realized she couldn’t stay hidden, and she fell on her knees before Jesus. She explained why she had touched Jesus and Jesus said to her, ā€œDaughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.ā€Ā

Jesus went on his way to heal another and the woman was healed from her terrible sickness because of her faith.

04 Nov 2022The Walls of Jericho00:03:17

The Walls Of Jericho

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, The Walls of Jericho, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
  2. What instructions did God give Joshua?
He told Joshua to gather his soldiers and march around the city of Jericho for six days. Seven priests were in front – their job was to blow the horns. On the seventh day, they were to march around the city seven times, blowing horns and giving a great shout.
  3. Did that seem strange?
That must have sounded strange that a big wall would fall just because of some horns, shouts, and marching. But it happened because of God’s power!
  4. What should you do when God gives you instructions?
Listen and obey like Joshua and the Israelites obeyed. It’s always the right choice to obey God.
  5. Take some time to pray with your child. You might pray something like this:
Dear God, thank you that you always know what’s best for me. Please help me to listen to you and obey so that I can follow your best plan. I love you! Amen.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of The Faith of a Roman Officer. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Matthew 8:5-13.

Jesus was in Capernaum when a Roman officer came to him and asked for his help. The Roman officer’s servant was paralyzed and was lying in bed with terrible pain. Jesus said, ā€œI will come and heal him.ā€

But the Roman officer said that he wasn’t worthy to have Jesus come to his house and knew that if Jesus just said the word from where he was, that his servant would be healed. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Jesus turned to his followers and said, ā€œI tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!ā€Ā

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, ā€œGo back home. Because you believed, it has happened.ā€ And the young servant was healed that same hour.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Samson and Delilah. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Judges 16: 1-21. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Samson. Who was the last judge of Israel. Samson was very strong and he was supposed to bring God’s people victory over their enemies who were the Philistines.

Now Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah. And the Philistines came to Delilah and convinced her to find out what the secret to Samson’s strength was. They promised her a great amount of money if she could do this. Ā

So Delilah said to Samson, ā€œPlease tell me what makes you so strong and what it would take to tie you up securely.ā€

Samson replied, ā€œIf I were tied up with seven new bowstrings that have not yet been dried, I would become as weak as anyone else.ā€

So the Philistine rulers brought Delilah seven new bowstrings and she tied Samson up with them. She cried out, ā€œSamson! The Philistines have come to capture you!ā€ But Samson snapped the bowstrings. So the secret of his strength was not discovered.

Afterward Delilah said to him, ā€œYou’ve been making fun of me and telling me lies! Now please tell me how you can be tied up securely.ā€

Samson replied, ā€œIf I were tied up with brand-new ropes that had never been used, I would become as weak as anyone else.ā€

So Delilah took new ropes and tied him up with them. And again Delilah cried out, ā€œSamson! The Philistines have come to capture you!ā€ But again Samson snapped the ropes from his arms.

Then Delilah said, ā€œYou’ve been making fun of me and telling me lies! Now tell me how you can be tied up securely.ā€

Samson replied, ā€œIf you were to weave the seven braids of my hair into the fabric on your loom and tighten it with the loom shuttle, I would become as weak as anyone else.ā€

So while he slept, Delilah wove the seven braids of his hair into the fabric. Again she cried out, ā€œSamson! The Philistines have come to capture you!ā€ But Samson woke up and yanked his hair away from the loom and the fabric.

Then Delilah pouted, ā€œHow can you tell me, ā€˜I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!ā€ She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it.

Finally, Samson shared his secret with her. ā€œMy hair has never been cut for I was dedicated to God as a Nazarite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.ā€

Delilah realized he had finally told her the truth, so she sent for the Philistine rulers. ā€œCome back one more time,ā€ she said, ā€œfor he has finally told me his secret.ā€ So the Philistine rulers returned. Delilah lulled Samson to sleep, and then she called in a man to shave off the seven locks of his hair. Samson’s strength left him.

Then she cried out, ā€œSamson! The Philistines have come to capture you!ā€

When he woke up, he thought, ā€œI will do as before and shake myself free.ā€ But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him. So the Philistines captured him and took him to prison.

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus who is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.

While Jesus was on earth, He healed many people from their sickness. He did many miracles like walking on water and even raised people from the dead.Ā

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Moses and the Red Sea. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Exodus 13-14. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible animation is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Moses, who was an Israelite born in Egypt in a time where Israelite boys were not supposed to live. Moses however grew up in the palace of the Pharaoh, the very man who was enslaving the Israelite people.

When Moses grew up, he made a big mistake. So Moses ran away from Egypt to the land of Midian. Many years later, God called Moses back to Egypt to rescue His people with the help of his brother Aaron.

The Pharaoh did not want to let God’s people go and God showed His power throughout all Egypt by sending plagues. Even with all the suffering, Pharaoh’s heart stayed hard and he would not let the people go. On the night of the last plague, Pharaoh woke up and heard a great cry in Egypt, for there was not an Egyptian house in which someone was not dead.Ā

Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and told them to leave Egypt with the Israelites. So the Israelites immediately left Egypt and made their way for the Promised Land taking with them many riches from Egypt. They took Joseph’s bones as they had promised him many years before. God led them by a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. God told Moses to have the people camp along the shore of the Red Sea. God told Moses that the Egyptians would come after them, but that God would show His glory and power through this.Ā

When word reached Pharaoh that the Israelites had gone, Pharaoh changed his mind and readied his army to take back the Israelites. The Egyptians found the Israelites camped along the shore of the sea. As Pharaoh and his armies came close, the Israelites panicked! They cried out to God and asked Moses, ā€œWhy did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness?ā€Ā

But Moses told the people, ā€œDon’t be afraid. TheĀ LordĀ himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.ā€

Then GodĀ said to Moses, ā€œWhy are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!ā€ As night came, the pillar of cloud became fire and it went between the Israelites and the Egyptians.Ā

Then Moses raised his hand over the sea and GodĀ opened a path through the water with a strong wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.Ā So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!

Then the Egyptians chased the Israelites into the middle of the sea.Ā But just before dawn GodĀ looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and He threw their forces into total confusion.Ā ā€œLet’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!ā€ the Egyptians shouted. ā€œTheĀ LordĀ is fighting for them against Egypt!ā€

When all the Israelites had reached the other side, GodĀ said to Moses, ā€œRaise your hand over the sea again.ā€Ā Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the water rushed back into its usual place. The Egyptians tried to escape, but GodĀ swept them into the sea.Ā

That is how God rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day.Ā When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that GodĀ had shown against the Egyptians, they were amazed. They put their faith in GodĀ and in His servant Moses.

10 Mar 2023Noah Builds A Big Boat00:03:39
