This is an interview with the above named about the digital mentoring scheme whereby Sheffield Digital pair those experienced in the world of the digital with those less so.

The Elf is has been paired with Mandy from https://www.pocketsforwomen.co.uk/ as she has stacks of experience in making websites but much less so in promoting websites digitally. Mandy was frustrated by the clothing industry and the way it makes so many clothes, for women, that don't have pockets so she has made https://www.pocketsforwomen.co.uk/ and has linked up with various (many famous) companies to display the products they have that do have such options.

Sorry for the background noise on this one but if you could please pretend you're in a pub, listening to friends speaking then that will probably help the experience along nicely.

500 Together want as many people as possible to sign up and pay £1 per week by standing order to a central pot. When they hit £500 they will give that money out to one or more of the worthy causes that paying members choose to nominate. This could be the full £500 or part thereof. The aim is to get to the point where they will give out £500 every single week.

07 Nov 2020Chatting to Jo Reynolds and Tom French about how DATA could make Sheffield better. Ep. 2400:36:01

Tom French is a man who likes to mess about with numbers and stats and uses them to try and make positive changes to the things around him. i.e. homelessness. To make a greater impact than doing this alone Tom started Sheffield Data for Good which you can read about and join in with via Meetup.com

https://www.meetup.com/Sheffield-Data-for-Good/

Tom, as a human man person, can be found on Twitter via @MrTomFrench and his project at @SheffDataGood also on that there Twitter.

Jo Reynolds is more atuned to the qualitative data side of things, looking at the views of people rather than solid facts and figures. She runs @capacity_q which also has a website at

http://capacityq.com/

which looks to use that data to help public, voluntary and 3rd secotor organisations make sense of what people are trying to tell them.
