Dr. Ann Kartini Nguyen-Chung as a Dentist, has a passion for contributing to the overall health and wellness of others. The story begins in 2020 when she developed a painful rash around her mouth and consulted a dermatologist. After several weeks of using medications without success, it turned out that her rash was due to an allergic reaction to one of her lip balms. Unfortunately, with such an extensive ingredient list, she could not pinpoint which ingredient was causing these embarrassing and painful sores. She began making her own plant-based lip balms with high-quality, minimal ingredients. Her skin cleared up! She continued experimenting and making other personal care products at home. Her youngest sister got laid off, and she wanted to help. The combination of her holistic plant-based lifestyle, dental background, and drive to help create jobs is how Happi Hippo Plant Organics was born. Her intention for this business is to be a blessing to humans, animals, and the planet. That is why her tagline is “Eco, toxin-free, vegan body care, for a Happi you and a Happi planet!”
