23 Mar 2021 | What A Girl Wants | 00:54:07
Hop on board the nostalgia train yet again because we found another excuse to hang out with our dad Colin Firth! This week we're exploring another classic piece of teen girl culture that Kirstie missed in the early aughts, What A Girl Wants. This film is jam packed with flare jeans, hijinks, and Colin Firth dancing in leather pants. We explore some latent feelings about Vespas, wonder what the writers knew about the House of Windsor, and are compelled to say this movie is Not That Bad? Thank you to our very kind listeners who have been sending us content suggestions, keep them coming!

25 Apr 2018 | Netflix, What Have You Done: When We First Met and Series of Unfortunate Events | 01:04:01
The theme of this episode is Netflix, What Have You Done? But it also could have been Soda, What Have You Done? Sweet Tea, What Have You Done? IMDB Pro, What Have You Done? We BYOB two Netflix originals. Kelsey watched the Netflix Original RomCom When We First Met and her algorithms will never be the same. We learn about IMDB and all the different ways you can tag panties. Then, Kirstie reveals a shocking plot twist: Netflix, What Have You Done can have positive connotations! We discuss the Series of Unfortunate Events, Kirstie's unbridled joy over television adaptations and dark stories for children. It's a bumpy episode for Netflix, Kirstie's knowledge of actor's names, movies of the mid 2000s and our understanding of the fundamental question, Netflix, What Have You Done?

23 May 2022 | Eurovision 2022 | 00:44:15
Like grandma-starved wolves from the moon, we are descending from the abyss to grace your sound space with an episode of our podcast. We are debrieifing the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest and spoiler alert this is a pro Subwoolfer/anti sad boy ballad podcast.

02 Oct 2020 | Wings | 00:38:47
Buckle your seatbelts and make sure your seat backs are in an upright position because this episode making a late arrival in your podcast feeds is about none other than the 90's classic sitcom Wings. It's Kirstie's turn to make Kelsey watch some formative media, and we agree that Wings is a delight that has aged MOSTLY well despite its fat jokes and Kennedy complex. Is Wings more charming than when Kirstie and Kelsey both forget everyday words and phrases in a single episode? You'll have to listen to find out. ALSO, there's a Treat Dad Update!

17 Mar 2021 | HGTV Design Star Next Generation | 01:22:15
We're coming to you late but once you see how much content we crammed into this episode you'll understand why. This week we thought we were bringing you an episode about the reboot of the early aught's classic, HGTV Design Star, but really what we ended up bringing you was almost 90 minutes of our white hot fury. We joked before recording that we'd have the show's run time of complaints, and we concluded that one can be petty and kind, and we hope we were able to strike the balance while still approaching the content with the level of curiosity demanded by Ted Lasso (spoiler alert: it was challenging).

16 Jan 2019 | The 2018 Really F*cking Good Television Awards Show (For Nice People Only) | 01:17:02

We’re wrapping up 2018 with everybody’s favorite awards show, The Really F%cking Good Television Awards Show (For Nice People Only). 10 Feb 2021 | Escape to the Chateau | 01:04:10
This week we're reporting live from the floating glamping dome at Château de la Motte-Husson. We wish??? Alas, we are forced to Escape to the Chateau by way of Dick Strawbridge and his enigmatic aura. If you too enjoy watching questionable people make questionable choices with both their home renovation and their business, look no further than this gem that includes highlights such as taxidermy! narrator shade! growing vegetables and eating them! We actually cannot overstate how much we love this show or how many questions we have about Dick Strawbridge's credentials. If you have information about the petty chateau wars, please contact us!

15 Apr 2021 | The Biggest Little Railway in the World (Our Month On The Rails) | 00:51:03
Sometimes you're chugging along a highway, sometimes you're running along a scenic river gorge, and sometimes you're navigating across the Great Glen Way on 70 miles of plastic rail. We're joining our friend Dick Strawbridge in the journey to Fucking Inverness this week on The Biggest Little Railway in the World. Come for the model trains, stay for the friendship. At the intersection of our inexplicable brand you'll find Scotland, Nice People, Dick Strawbridge, british people, infrastructure, Love Productions and (checks notes) Hamm Analysis???? Anyway, we just really love trains.

30 Apr 2020 | Miracle Workers | 00:36:04
Hello loyal listeners! This week, we are chatting about Miracle Workers and Miracle Workers: Dark Ages, a nice show (shows?) that demands absolutely nothing from you during these our Quarantimes. If you enjoy the more unhinged end of the Daniel Radcliffe spectrum or simply want to laugh at some poop jokes, this show (shows?) is for you. This episode features a trademark Hot or Tall investigation and at least two teasers for upcoming episodes!

05 Mar 2019 | Legends of Tomorrow and Everwood | 00:48:21
Thanks to a listener suggestion, we spend this week's episode down a rabbit hole known as the WB Then and Now, Pilot Palooza Bonus Round, Make Kirstie Watch An Everwood, or The Greg Berlanti Factor. We bring you in depth reporting such as show runner horoscopes, Comics vs RomComs, and Legends of Eurovision. Kirstie says "tonality" a lot so you know it has to be good! Then we finally talk about Kelsey's heart and soul, Everwood. Doc Brown comes to comfort us, and we sling some Hot Hallmark Takes and argue about Schitt's Creek. Like any small town, this episode has a lot of heart. Stay tuned for an announcement about our new project, pending the resolution of our endless struggle against A Major Podcast Distributer!

07 Apr 2021 | Norwegian Slow TV (Our Month on the Rails, Part 1) | 00:55:38
It's Infrastructure Month! Hope y'all like TRAINS. We're kicking things off by exploring Norwegian Slow TV, or as we like to call it, free therapy. They've got knitting, they've got boats, but most of all, they've got trains. Somehow along the way during our seven hour Bergen line YouTube journey, we discovered that Train TV is actually for us? Please tell us about your favorite routes and whether or not you think mountains should categorically be allowed in the game of Hot or Tall! And next week: MORE TRAINS.

15 Apr 2020 | Schitt's Creek: The Final Season | 01:06:15
We are coming to you from The Great Quarantine of 2020 to talk about a very good thing that happened - the final season of Schitt's Creek! We've got lots of thoughts on character development, TV weddings, narrative arcs, and costume choices. We would also like to advise you against both purchasing a home without the consent of your partner, and singing, in general, at any time. Hopefully you, too, enjoyed this happy ending!

19 May 2021 | Downward Dog Revisited | 01:03:54
We are filthy trash dogs folks, hear us roar. We love trash so much because we come from a long line of trash dogs and as such we could not resist revisiting the ultimate filthy trash dog, the 2017 ABC 8 episode one hit wonder, Downward Dog. TL;Dr we still don't know why everyone except us loved this show but we sure don't!

15 Oct 2019 | Chris Columbus Day: Adventures in Babysitting and Harry Potter | 00:46:18
It's everyone's favorite problematic holiday, Chris Columbus Day! Instead of celebrating the historical figure who did the genocide across North America, we are celebrating the casual racism of children's film director Chris Columbus. This year we are discussing the film Adventures in Babysitting, and listeners, we are deeply concerned. Then, it's time for us to circle back on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, one of the great films of 2001. We take this opportunity to explore many of the other great films of 2001 and their standing against Harry Potter. Find out how we feel about the Thumbs from Spy Kids, and if you have any information regarding the not 2001 film Ella Enchanted, please find us on Twitter @hatewatchwithus.

31 Dec 2020 | The 2020 Really F*cking Good Television Award Show for Nice People Only | 01:11:31
It's a wonderful feeling, feel the love in the room from the floor to the ceiling. It's that time again, The 2020 Really Fucking Good Television Award Show for Nice People Only is here. With the blessings from above, we send you our love for all of the television we watched in 2020 (and we do mean all 1000 episodes that Kelsey very casually watched). Do note, there was an audio issue with Kelsey's track that we can't explain or fix but we thought this episode was magical enough to preserve it in its current form.

03 Mar 2021 | Ted Lasso: Out of Relegation | 01:03:19
Sometimes you record an episode of a podcast and think to yourself, man I could really record another episode of that. So here we are, revisiting Ted Lasso. After having a Rebecca reaction to Ted Lasso, Kirstie rewatched the show and is back for another go at talking about what we love about it. Tl:DR we love it and we just want to spend more time talking about it so please come talk to us about Ted Lasso some more.

02 Jul 2018 | Arrested Development and Little Italy | 01:05:52
Back when we recorded this, we were so relevant and ready for our cultural moment. But then the internet betrayed us and thus we were lost to time much like the two time-warping topics we have for you this week. First, we talk about the new season of Arrested Development, our feelings about mid-2000s political satire, and we put all the men in rice. Then, we take a deep dive into the highly anticipated new romcom, Little Italy, staring Emma Roberts and notorious Anti-Sand advocate Hayden Christensen. We write some off-season hallmark fanfiction, explore Hayden Christensen's biography and escape to the farm.

14 Jan 2020 | MEGXIT | 00:36:59
IT'S HAPPENING Y'ALL! We are here, being the Meghan Markle We Want To See In The World, and are bringing you our wall to wall coverage of #Megxit, aka: the pop culture phenomena that will single handedly get us through 2020. We are bringing you hot takes, a play-by-play of our work day as the news broke on Twitter, a preview of a drinking game for our next episode, and a very important game for your work day. We understand your desire to take a different approach to podcast coverage of #Megxit, but these are complicated matters and only we are taking the time to work through them, here, together, with our Sad Boi Sex Lions.

30 Nov 2021 | Second Act (Dad Month) | 00:42:12
Much like Jennifer Lopez arriving in her corporate apartment after a plot twist in her journey to become a manager without a college degree, we are smashing expectations by extending Dad Month two months later than originally scheduled and arriving at the start of the Hatewatch Holiday season with a surprising touch of the holiday spirit. As Treat Dad once famously said in this film, "that was some crazy shit!". We promised you a Mom entry into Dad Month and that will still be coming but likely in January, so stay tuned because, much like adopted mothers and daughters being reunited inexplicably in the middle of a romcom, more crazy shit is yet to come!

20 Dec 2021 | Nine Kittens of Christmas and Next Stop Christmas | 01:04:08
It's the most Hatewatchable Time of the Year - Hatewatch Christmas 2021 is well underway and this week we are coming in hot with two entries from Hallmark full of time travel, cats, and infrastructure galore. First it's the Nine Kittens of Christmas, a movie where not much happens except a venue for our annual debate about the merits of Hallmark fucking. Next is Next Stop Christmas, and folks Hallmark had no right making this film just for us. If you like trains, time travel, and dunking on New England this has got it all.

14 Mar 2018 | Reality TV BYOB and The Oscars...Kind Of | 01:07:29
Nothing says content rut like forgetting what both of your segments were and deciding on them by accident. This week we're bringing back a good old fashion BYOB with Glam Masters and Skin Wars. We discuss weird reality TV tropes, compare elimination techniques, and gush about Great British Bake Off. Then we bring you a segment a week behind popular culture, and discuss our feelings about this year's Oscars. Specifically, why we didn't watch this year's Oscars and why we aren't more interested in movies in general. Kirstie and Kelsey go on a first date, we go down memory lane with some of our best childhood field trips, and we meet our Third Chair. It's a big, silly episode and we're not mad about it.

22 Oct 2019 | Score! A Hockey Musical | 01:10:48
This week we are playing shinny with the rink rats and just trying to figure out hockey the equation as we bring you exclusive coverage of Score: A Hockey Musical. Brought to you by league propaganda, the Bare Naked Ladies, and Canada, this film is guaranteed to break you in the time it takes to sing a montage about the discovery of self through toxic masculinity and bromance. Also, that guy from Schitts Creek is there and yes we brought fan fiction.

18 Mar 2020 | Self Quarantine Recommendations | 01:12:36
Things are getting weird in 2020 and we're coming at ya with some content recommendations to get you through self quarantine! First, wash your hands, then settle in for a grab bag of things to watch, things to avoid, Census PSAs, and Kirstie's soapmaking adventures. We also have a GLOWING review to discuss in detail, and Kirstie gets mad that Kelsey watched a movie without her (some things never change, even during pandemics).
Watch them already: Outlander, Battle of the Blades, Schitt's Creek, Below Deck Med & Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Grand Designs, Derry Girls (Derby Girls), Parks & Rec, Friday Night Lights, Catastrophe, Succession
Do not watch: The Office, Friends, How I Met Your Mother
Our 14 recommendations for 14 days of quarantine: Halt and Catch Fire, Wings, Calming British reality TV (Great British Bakeoff, Grand Designs, Monty Don's Gardens, Coastal Railways with Julie Walters), Rewatches, Knives Out, Spartacus, Sanditon, Revolution, Greek content (Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, The Durrells in Corfu, My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Flash Forward, Miracle Workers, Downward Dog, Derry Girls, Score! A Hockey Musical

27 Mar 2018 | Secret Shopper and Weekend Aristocrats | 01:12:03
This week we bring you a gift of pure delight. Two shows full of field trips, lessons learned, and throwbacks to other classic hatewatches. We call this, "Cottage Life, UK". First, we bring you Mary Portus, Secret Shopper, where we visit a bridal shop and eat some coleslaw sandwiches. Kelsey finds out trains exist, Mary Portus' origin story is revealed, Kirstie learns vocabulary and we find ourselves trying to navigate some messily told character stories. Then we transition to Weekend Aristocrats, a show about rich white men and their endless fear of plebs. Kelsey gets to relive the show vicariously through this episode, from peacocks to divorces. Come for the Halloween, stay for the tough conversations about socioeconomic inequality and generational aristocracy.

12 Apr 2018 | Alex Inc and Podcast TV | 01:00:29
Everyone's favorite Tuesday-Adjacent podcast is back to get a little meta as we talk about podcasts becoming tv shows and tv shows about podcasts trying to become podcasts companies......or something. We start with the new Zack Braff show Alex Inc., where we struggle with our feelings about Zack Braff, teenage magicians, family comedies, and 401Ks. Get the sco op on the upcoming Hatewatch With Us adaptation including episode synopses, the dream cast, and other hot details. Then we move on to discussing the idea of adapting podcasts into television. We ponder deep questions like which podcasts are television worthy, what podcasts would we hate to watch, and play our favorite game Listen to Kirstie and Kelsey Google. Our main take away was Zack Braff isn't great, ABC needs to stay in their lane, and Roman Mars and Kevin McCloud should face off in a competitive reality show. Send in your pitch package for the Hatewatch With Us TV Adaptation! Best one gets pitched to Hulu.

13 Nov 2019 | Stumptown and Emergence | 00:43:51
This week, we are talking about ABC's fall tv offering, but we are ALSO talking about The Barenaked Ladies (again). First, we discuss Stumptown and Kirstie's war on lead female characters on network tv. Then, we try to work through our Downward Dog PTSD with Emergence, a show that is Spo0o0o0o0o0ky. Come for the Topical Content, stay for the Vermont dome folklore. If you are a network exec, please come talk to us about what we can offer by way of Victorian ghosts if you set your show in New England instead of New York! Also, Downward Dog was a bad show.

27 Aug 2019 | Jane the Virgin: The Finale Bind Off | 00:43:19
Back to School, Back to Podcast, that's what we always say! We're back from our Second Annual Impromptu Summer Hiatus and we've got hot takes about seasonal beverages as well as the last season of Jane the Virgin. We're totally fine, and everything is fine this episode. We're fine with being done dirty by the format, we're fine with all the crying we did or did not do, and we're totally fine with everything we've ever felt along the way. IT'S DEFINITELY ALL FINE GUYS.

25 Sep 2018 | The Emmys and Ready Player One | 01:02:07
WE'RE READY!!!!! Lol get it? We're back from hiatus with content timely and not at all timely. First, Kelsey takes one for th team and reprots back on watching this year's Emmys. Honestly, we could have probably stayed on hiatus for this one. Then we're bringing you Ready Player One in all its white-male-Star-Wars-Prequels-CGI mediocrity. We have a drinking game and complaints aplenty. Did you miss us? Cuz we sure missed you more than we would have missed this movie had it never been made. 09 Jul 2019 | Meghan and Harry: A Royal Romance and Becoming Royal | 01:25:24
We are back from our spontaneous hiatus, and we are coming in hot with an olive branch....that is.....if that olive branch could be a symbolism lion. We do a lot of journalism about Lifetime's feelings about the television show Suits, symbolism sex boi lion aphrodisiacs, the time differential between this film hitting the editing room and the birth of a royal baby and whinging. Just remember girls, glass ceilings not glass slippers! T'wasn't easy but we're here to serve the people.

25 Apr 2019 | Game of Themes | 01:04:38
As a member of society, you may or may not be subject to this dark time in television, as Game of Thrones is back on television and winter is here. We are dutifully recapping Game of Thrones over at our other podcast, Our Watch Has Ended, but in the interest of Alternative Content, we are here today to recommend content that scratches Game of Thrones' various itches. We cover themes such as Strong Sexual Content, Violence, House/Palace Intrigue, Unlikable Characters, and more! Find out which show we labled as the Hatewatch Superbowl, see how we justify talking about our faves for the millionth time in a new context, listen to Kirstie and Kelsey congratulate each other repeatedly for accomplishing the goal of episode format, and revel in the moment when Kirstie has to tell Kelsey she was right. From Westeros to Aldovia, there's some beef stew for everyone in this episode y'all.

08 Mar 2020 | Battle of the Blades and Spinning Out | 01:15:11

This week we're bringing you the Canadian ratings juggernaut, Battle of the Blades, and the Netflix original, Spinning Out. Come for the acid wash denim ice dancing costumes, stay for shoe shopping plot twist.

19 Jan 2021 | Pilot Palooza 2020 | 01:12:15
We're back with another one of our favorite annual traditions, Pilot Palooza! This year we tried out a new format and it SLAPS. We're bringing you Search Party, The Undoing, The Flight Attendant, The Queens Gambit, Ted Lasso, and Bridgerton. Listen to find out who the winner was and what height we think will dominate the year's famous hot (or not) men. Thanks for helping us get to another podcastiversary!

14 Aug 2020 | Hatewatch IRL: Hotels | 00:35:52
Hey guys, remember hotels? We took a trip in the Hatewatch time machine this week and traveled back to a more innocent time last year when your hosts got to be in the same place, at the same time, recording a podcast on the floor of a Holiday Inn. In addition to some unwise choices, including broad speculations about the possibilities of leisure travel in 2020, we also have some thoughts about hotels! We're talking bars, we're talking pools, we're talking birthday parties(???). Like our delightful canned gin & tonic cocktails, this episode is ready to enjoy!

05 Nov 2019 | Derry Girls | 00:44:31
Jesus Wept! It only took 2 months but Kirstie has finally watched a Derry Girls and we are finally here to tell you how much we loved it. We explore feelings about 90s music, lingo, character proxies, and these our modern times. Come for the feels, stay to find out whether or not this show qualifies for this year's Really Fucking Good Television Award Show for Nice People Only. This episode's letter writing campaigns are: 1. More shows with 22 minute episodes and 6 episode seasons, 2. Start saying Fuck-A-Doodle-Doo, 3. Make all the other Thought Bubble Audio hosts watch Score: A Hockey Musical.

11 Dec 2019 | Christmas In Evergreen 3 and Sense, Sensibility, and Snowmen | 00:54:21
Hatewatch Holidays continue this week with two new original movies from the eternally sexless Hallmark Channel. First, we're revisiting Evergreen for the THIRD time with Christmas In Evergreen 3: Tidings of Joy. Our favorite totally real Vermont town is back to their whimsical ways with a plot heavy advent calendar time capsule situation! Stay tuned for next year when we inevitably cover Christmas In Evergreen 4: Small Boy Gets Another Key and Everybody Goes To Therapy. Our second film this week is Sense, Sensibility, and Snowmen, which carries on the Hallmark tradition of disgracing Jane Austen's good name for the sake of Christmas content. Also, the podcast would like to note that the jingle bells in this episode is not in fact our own festive sound effect but rather the resident pod dog channeling the spirit of Christmas with his collar. We're not sorry.
| |||
16 Jul 2020 | Meghan Markle, Hallmark Star | 00:54:05
It was the week that we learned Meghan Markle starred in not one but TWO Hallmark movies! You heard that right folks, we're discussing When Sparks Fly and Dater's Handbook, two fine films that feature Meghan Markle, relatable video conferencing, and men who do the very least. We've got hot takes on Meghan's acting chops, her Hallmark hair journey, and the intracacies of Fourth of July wedding attire. If you, too, feel like you are stuck in a dead-end job making bad tv movies, just hold out hope that a year from now you will meet a dashing prince and get married and then divorce the royal family and live happily ever after because that is a much better story than the plots of either of these movies. THE END!
If you enjoyed this, we think Meghan would want you to join us in donating and learning how you can help at the following links: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/# https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bailfundsgeorge_floyd?refcode=cwg

26 Jan 2021 | Bridgerton | 00:48:03
It's time to channel our best Ladies Whistledown to throw some shade and adoration at Bridgerton! This is part 2 of 3 of our Pilot Palooza Extravaganza and we're getting into the spoiler zone to talk about the entire season, including costume choices, romance choices, and sex ed choices. We still think the Duke of Hastings is hot, the Other Men are a waste of time, and Sam Heughan can get it (what how did that get in there???). If you liked this, please rate and review with the height of your favorite man of Regency adaptations!
| |||
07 May 2020 | Inside the Episode | 01:00:44
This week, we're bringing the energy of an overconfident showrunner in a 3 minute postshow featurette with a topic we're fondly calling Inside the Dick. We present some groundbreaking theories including: audiences are smart, clip shows right after episodes are dumb, and maybe certain men should be less smug. This episode isn't an Outlander episode, but it's also not NOT and Outlander episode. Please enjoy, please stay home, and please tell us what you're watching so we can mention it in our new segment, Kirstie and Kelsey's Kuarantine Korner! --> @hatewatchwithus

21 Dec 2021 | Holiday Special 2021: The Princess Switch 3 | 00:58:48
'Tis the season for Vanessas Hudgens!

16 Feb 2021 | It's Complicated | 00:55:19
Have you ever wondered what it would be like for Alec Baldwin to expose himself to Steve Martin on webcam? Well have we got a film for you! This week we're resisting RomComducation with It's Complicated which brought up a lot of beef about kitchens, kitchen renovations, kitchen size, kitchen storage, dream kitchens, and John Krasinski. Also in breaking news we reveal the true identity of QAnon?

19 Nov 2020 | Pride and Prejudice | 00:44:42
It's the great Hatewatch tradition of Make Kirstie Watch A Thing, and this week, she finally caved and watched a Jane Austen adaptation. We're talking about the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, featuring emo Darcy, Kelsey's feelings (and Kirstie's lack thereof), plus some cinematography. If you too think that Kirstie should appreciate Jane Austen more, or you would like us to send you the photo we found of a large paper mache Mr. Darcy in a lake, please contact us at @hatewatchwithus.

20 Jun 2018 | The Americans and Fast Food Talk | 01:06:23
We're a little late but still celebrating Kelsey's week of content delight and talking about The Americans' series finale. Then, we borrow an idea from PCHH fan requests and discuss fast food restaurants. Kirstie has some advice for road trippers and throws (undeserved) shade at the 99. Other highlights include an important Grand Designs red alert and a Perd Hapley appearance.

31 May 2019 | Eurovision 2019 | 00:56:16
It's that time of year again! That's right folks, Eurovision returned, and despite some streaming dilemmas we persevered to bring you some spicy hot Europop content. Speaking of spicy hot, we kick off with some neat oven safety tips, courtesy of Eurovision 2018. We don't condone drinking games, but if one were to play one, we might suggest they drink every time we call a performance "wild" this year. We bring you our favorites, our least favorites, and some side conversations about mens fashion, geography, and Kirstie's life on the rails. Check out some of our top performances at the links below, and remember, as they say in San Marino: Be a hero. Be the rainbow.

02 Nov 2020 | Chasing Liberty | 00:43:11
Well folks, it's Election Week 2020, and what better time than the present to (1) come to you with breaking news about Celine Dion, and (2) revisit some patriotic content from a simpler election year. For those of you who haven't trained Google to push notify you with news about Sam Heughan, we spend more time than we ought to (and yet not nearly enough time???) discussing his new film Text For You/SMS Fur Dich/Text For Dick. Then it's time for a Romcomducation History Lesson™️ about teen romcoms from the early aughts, a time when we were all apparently CLAMORING for movies about teenage presidential daughters. The important takeaway from all this is that Chasing Liberty is the better of these films based on the ~Matthew Goode wearing men's bell bottoms~ factor alone.

23 Jul 2019 | Below Deck Mediterranean & Hatewatch IRL: Snack Time | 01:11:37
All crew! All crew! Please meet us in the bridge for a Hatewatch meeting!
Get ready to fill out your preference sheets and drink a whole bottle of wine because we've discovered Below Deck Mediterranean and we can't. stop. watching. After we're done admiring Captain Sandy's management skills, we get into it about snacks! From Cheez-Its to cereal to the best chip dip vessels, we've got it all (plus grammar lessons, because we are who we are). BONUS: Keep an ear out for the moment we learn we both love oysters! It was a really big day for us.

04 Dec 2018 | Road to Christmas and Christmas In Evergreen: Letters to Santa | 01:00:23
It's #HatewatchHallmark Vermont week! We watch Road to Christmas, where Kirstie learns how to identify a Chad Michael Murray in the wild, then it's like Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! all over again as we revisit our favorite town with an inexplicable Christmas theme in Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa. Ok, it's not quite as good as Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, but what could be? We chat about the specific boundaries we want Hallmark to push, Kirstie references male romantic leads as "the guy... the love guy," and we even get some good old fashioned tchotchke ponzi schemes. If you're reading this, Santa, consider this our letter, and enter us in the Sam Heughan Charity Crossfit Contest this holiday season: https://www.omaze.com/experiences/sam-heughan-date-night

Say Yes to the RomCom Renaissance! We are here with JLo/Peacocks new romcom Marry Me and not only do we have some feelings about it but we have feelings about the American Song Contest, planes, the hotness of various Wilson brothers, and a variety of other topics. We're all just here to have a good fun time.

18 Jun 2020 | More Quarantine TV Recommendations | 00:55:02
We are back this week with a Kuarantine Korner update, because it appears that Quarantine will never end! Fortunately, Bravo's like a second stew offering us expensive champagne because Below Deck Med is back and we have some thoughts! After we discuss which members of the crew may or may not be unhinged and update our preference sheets for these our Quarantimes, we talk about a few more shows that have piqued our interest, including The Great, Peaky Blinders, and Letterkenny (stay tuned for next week PHEASANTS).

25 Dec 2020 | Christmas in Evergreen and the 12th Date of Christmas | 01:03:36
What would Christmas be without revisiting our favorite places? We are returning reluctantly to Evergreen, Vermont, where we can apparently no longer see the North Pole, nor partake in magical advent calanders, but do apparently have plenty of hat factory ghosts, before we jet off to Chicago for a scavenger hunt inspired stay-cation. Tl:dr, we want Hallmark to do more weird townie shit and fewer start-up marketing stunts. Stay tuned for the end when we draft our pilots for Pilot Palooza!! Make sure to make your list and do your homework!

13 Apr 2019 | Our Watch Has Ended: The First Official Episode, Bleed for the Brands | 00:57:48
It's the first NEW episode of our NEW PODCAST, Our Watch Has Ended: A Game Of Thrones Hatewatch. You can subscribe at our new feed by searching for Our Watch Has Ended anywhere you find podcasts! Subscribe there for weekly episodes all through season 8!
It's been two years, but we are back at it with our favorite garbage show! Don't gaslight us about great houses, it's been a long time! As the hype builds, so do the brand partnerships, so we wanted to take a minute to talk about some of the crazy ways HBO has licensed Game of Thrones to trick you into BLEEDING FOR THE BRANDS. We discuss Oreo, Shake Shack, the American Red Cross, Mountain Dew, Urban Decay, Love Pop, Rolling Pins, Johnny Walker, and Spotify. How many houses are there? How do you fit a house on a cookie? Are we in Snowdonia? We are back on our bullshit, bringing the HOT LOOKS and HOT TAKES and dear god are we ready for this season to be over. Use the hashtag #hatewatchGOT to watch along with us! This episode is only about licensing deals and has no spoilers (in theory, but who knows?)

02 Oct 2018 | Return from Hiatus and Netflix, What Have You Done? | 00:57:05
This week we are taking you through the hole in the fabric of space-time, back 5 weeks to our first attempt at returning from hiatus. It was a simpler time when Kirstie was getting a lot less sleep and watching a lot more TV, and Kelsey was living her best RomCom life. First we discussed all the TV Kirstie watched on maternity leave, including the gringiness of 90s sitcoms, the argument for the 30 minute sitcom as a format, and Kirstie admitting she was right to lose the great Brooklyn 99 Fight of 2018. Then we have a rare opportunity to put a positive spin on everyone's favorite segment, Netflix, What Have You Done? With a pep in our step and sheer delight in our mics, we review the Netflix RomCom To All The Boys I loved Before, as well as praising the platform for their contributions to the RomCom Renaissance. For the second week in a row, we're glad to be back!

It's Award Season, and that means it's time for the 2019 Really Fucking Good Television Award Show For Nice People Only, and we are bringing BIG MEGXIT ENERGY to the party this year. 22 Dec 2021 | A Princess For Christmas (RERELEASE) | 00:28:47
As far as Christmas magic goes, there's nothing quite as magical as Sam Heughan's tight white pants in the 2011 timeless classic, A Princess for Christmas (Christmas for Princess? who's to say?). Today we're bringing you a rerelease of our of 2018 episode about this fine film. Enjoy!

12 Mar 2020 | Below Deck Sailing Yacht | 00:32:31
All crew all crew! Our preference sheet includes bad reality TV about boat crews so that means we MUST discuss Below Deck Sailing Yacht immediately. The thing about sailing is that it's different than yachting, and it's hard to say who spends more time on that distinction, the producers or us. Below Deck Sailing Yacht has problematic chefs, problematic chief stews, problematic crew couples, and problematic third wheel captain dads, so buckle up for a wild ride as we cut the engines and raise the sails!

21 Nov 2018 | TV Weddings and Outlander Store Dot Com | 01:10:49
We're going back to the archives this week with an episode we recorded when we "hadn't talked about Outlander in a while" (what?). Kirstie also drinks one 5.2% ABV beer, so get hype. We kick things off with a discussion of TV wedding tropes, and Kelsey tries desperately to get Kirstie to believe in television romance yet again. Then, we decide it's time to ruin the Outlander fandom's fun and visit OutlanderStore.com, a truly wild place. That's right folks - they've got shower curtains, pocket standees, $500 replica gear - and we're here to bring you hard hitting reporting on all of it. Spoiler alert: Kirstie buys Kelsey half of OutlanderStore.com for her birthday. Also, if you like the show, don't forget to enter us in the Sam Heughan Charity Crossfit Contest! 27 Aug 2020 | Animal Crossing: Friendship Island | 00:39:35
We're back from our impromptu hiatus, which means we have an episode that's a little bit sloppy but mostly just friendship. We kick off with what's sure to be an award-winning pitch for Hallmark Channel this holiday season (spoilers: it involves a royal sibling, dogs, and bikes). Then, Kirstie has huge news to share, which leads to a discussion of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, known to this podcast as FRIENDSHIP ISLAND. We're very excited to be able to virtually hang out again, on this podcast and on Friendship Island, and if you are too, please give us a 5-star review!

30 Jul 2020 | The Dog House and The Great Pottery Throwdown | 01:03:09
Today we're going to sit down at the wheel and throw an episode for y'all about some British reality tv coming to an HBO Max near you. But first - the Emmy nominations were released and we have thoughts (shocker). Basically if Schitt's Creek doesn't sweep we're quitting. So after our designated time for gripes and gloats, we're on to The Dog House (UK?), a show that's a real mixed bag featuring puppies and poor decision making. While we aren't sure The Dog House is for us, the show that decidedly IS for us is The Great Pottery Throwdown (or as we so confidently call it, The Great British Throwdown - at some point all show names are the same). We learn about ceramics, we learn about how horny pottery can be, there's history lessons... and we won't spill the beans here but it's possible we may even have a new addition to the Dad Canon. Tune in to find out!

29 May 2020 | Homestead Rescue | 00:59:03
What happens when one cohost low key picks up homesteading? Apparently, this. We're here to bring you a true hatewatch this week, Discovery Channel's Homestead Rescue. We watched the pilot and we have thoughts about goat enclosures, conspiracy theories, and the patriarchy. We also workshop an iteration of Homestead Flip or Flop, which feels like a lot more fun (call us, Discovery Channel?). Then, we have a fight complete with media criticism trash talk about Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NBC's Schur-a-palooza, and lazy viewing. 27 Nov 2018 | Christmas At Pemberley Manor and Princess Switch | 01:23:28
Its the most wonderful time of the year, #HatewatchHallmark 2018! We are kicking off the season with Hallmark's Christmas at Pemberley Manor, which features a breakdown of Hallmark's many adaptive failures of classic literature, a few jokes at the expense of Gen Z, the rollout of our new Christmas Hatewatch Bingo and plenty of printed emails. Then we move on to our favorite segment-within-a-segment with Netflix, What Have You Done? This time, Netflix has done A Princess Switch (formerly a Christmas Switch), and we travel to Belgragenovaldovia to shout about identity theft, transference, pureeing fruit, and bad accents. Come for the Parent Trap references, stay for the Generic Fictional European Country Eurovision Team draft picks. Also, if you like the show, don't forget to enter us in the Sam Heughan Charity Crossfit Contest! 25 entries will start a printed-email letter writing campaign to Hallmark and/or the creation of the Generic Fictional European Country Name Generator! 23 Feb 2021 | The Great British Sewing Bee | 00:39:32
This week, we pushed the boundaries of geographical internet roadblocks to finally watch The Great British Sewing Bee! While there are no tears over works of art on this iteration of the quaint maker competition, we do get to learn a lot about things like darts and sewing on the bias and whether or not sewing makes for good tv. The most important thing this week is that we get a REALTIME REVIEW at the end of the episode and we have a lot of feelings about it (THANK YOU NIKNIK!).

28 Jan 2019 | Bind Off: Outlander Season 4 | 00:53:34
Like the mustache on a young hero's face or the thunder in one's pants, we have arrived once again at the end of another season of Outlander. Join us as we trade our gloats and gripes for the season and try to come to terms with challenging ideas such as actual human emotions, facial expressions, drawing, and sad tent sex. Joy was sparked, rage was raged, and the Strong Sexual Content was the Actually Just Normal Feelings We Felt About Sam Heughan's Face along the way. 10 Mar 2021 | Cinderella (1997) | 00:31:21
Join us for an adventure in 90's tv musical production as we unpack the 1997 Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella (you know the one, with Brandy, Whitney Houston, and great ubiquitous character actor Victor Garber??). In between Kirstie reading Victor Garber's IMDB history, we touch on the song mixes, the sound stage vibes, and how much this thing truly slaps. We also promote a certain tv interview that's already aired and unfortunate now-old news about Mr. Hot & Tall In Perpetuity, so this is a blast from the past in pretty much every way.

11 Dec 2018 | Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe and A Shoe Addict's Christmas | 01:00:38
It's our last installment of Hatewatch Hallmark before moving on to the endless bounty of off-brand Christmas movies, so we are coming in hot this week. We start with the sequel to our Outlander Store Dot Com special: A Novice's Guide to Destiny Dice and honestly we feel this should have been its own segment because it had way more to offer than either of the films we watched. We then move on to Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe where we had a lot of questions about our stock options next fiscal year. Before long we are visited by the Ghost of Jean Smart Past, Future, and Present, and were transported to A Shoe Addict's Christmas where Kelsey bestowed upon us the gift of her Candance impression and ERHMERHGERD did we dig up an old ass meme. 27 Nov 2020 | The Crown Season 4 | 01:03:42
Like Princess Margaret arriving for an official function fashionably late, fabulously drunk, and with no fucks to give, we are rolling up in your podcast feeds with our regular Tuesday episode on...........Saturday. Something something holidays, something something technical difficulties, listen: some of us were busy crafting, watching Princess Diana documentaries, listening to Princess Diana podcasts, and otherwise gossiping about Prince Charles, which cut into editing time. Anyway, we're here to talk about the Crown and somehow ended up talking more about the mask wearing habits of mid level network sitcoms.

27 Mar 2019 | Return to Cottage Life UK: Cabins in the Wild and House Doctor | 01:15:07
We're revisiting our favorite network in our hearts this week and have found some gems from Netflix's selection of Cottage Life UK content. However, we don't visit Netflix without generating a few gripes, and we have A LOT OF THEM because Netflix has unjustly removed Canadian Cottage Life from their offering. Once we get over our feelings about that (and begin our letter writing campaign), we meet our new friends Dick Strawbridge and Willie Fedora over at Cabins in the Wild. This segment includes Dragon themed cabins, live reports from Snowdonia National Park, and everybody's favorite time - Kirstie and Kelsey google some things about pioneer life. Then we move on to House Doctor (how can I help?), where we meet yet another bag of dicks, Grumpy Old Dickie. We learn a lot about rooms with a point of view and our point of view is that this show is a disaster. This episode wraps up with a discussion of the maple syrup grading system, so don't miss that. Happy sugaring season, y'all!

After watching nine films, we're here to bring the serious Star Wars insights, mainly: 1. Who fucks 2. Who should fuck 3. Is it dumb? Maybe? 4. The names are bad

28 Feb 2019 | Sweet Home Alabama and Sitcom Living Rooms | 01:05:39
It's a real grab bag of hatewatch nostalgia this week! 06 Oct 2021 | Jeff Bezos' Cinderella (feat. Pierce Dad) | 01:11:05
IT'S DAD MONTH, Y'ALL! We're kicking things off with a listener request featuring our very good dad Pierce once again just absolutely thriving in the campiest dad roles of our generation. And while we can't agree that anyone was clamoring for Jeff Bezos' Cinderella, we ARE clamoring for Pierce Dad's Oscar for this role. We've got lots of thoughts about what injustice Bezos has inflicted on us this time, like using his space technology to create CGI mice, subjecting us to an hours-long montage to Let's Get Loud, and letting James Corden do dick jokes. After we spend roughly an hour questioning WHO IS THIS FOR? we have some fun new segments like creating Mamma Mia board games, the Sam Heughan James Bond Google Alerts Temperature Check™️, and forgetting to tell you about Dad Month until the last minute of the show. Enjoy 45 minutes of pure delight about two delightful shows. We're happy about Roy Ken's facial hair and DanRad's child star money and infinite professional bliss. If you're happy about these things two consider giving us five star reviews! Ted Lasso believes in you!

27 Apr 2021 | SAS: Red Notice (Our Month on the Rails) | 00:45:16
Grab your tobbogans and your gas masks folks because we're boarding a train to a whole new world of trains and infrastructure. The good news, we've found the intersection of our brand containing both Trains and Sam Heughan, the bad news, it's Action Hallmark. It's always Christmas, the good guy always wins, and there's always bombs on trains. We are heart broken to be winding down Our Month on the Rails, but we are so grateful you joined us all for the ride.

26 Nov 2019 | Holiday in the Wild | 00:39:05
We are diving in to our 2019 Holiday Hatewatch coverage with old friend Rob Lowe, and new friend Not-Katie-Holmes, in the Netflix Holiday Classic Holiday in the Wild. We've got elephants, we've got white saviors, we've got African Language, and did we mention the elephants? Come for Netflix's attempted charity tax write off, stay to MAKE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF. Also, please let us know if you genuinely know who we can donate to to help the elephants. Happy Holidays!

21 Jul 2021 | Never Have I Ever Season 2 | 01:25:03
We're back and here to talk about many things, but mainly how unreasonably hot Paxton Hall-Yoshida is! That's right, it's the Golden Month of Television and we're kicking things off with season two of Never Have I Ever, a Hatewatch Our Joy mainstay that generates an equal ratio of tears to google searches about male characters' heights. Please enjoy our raw, unedited, earnest feelings about this show and what we owe to Mindy Kaling and also what we absolutely do not owe to our two-star reviewer (no, we're not over it). If you missed us, be sure to check out the Everwood Pinecast (http://everwoodpinecast.com/), where we've been busy recapping season one of the hit WB series Everwood (which Never Have I Ever may have stolen IP from, who's to say???).

11 Feb 2022 | Pilot Palooza 2021 | 01:01:38
It's everyone's favorite way to kick off a new year, only one month late! Pilot Palooza is back folks, and we've drafted six pilots to catch ourselves up on the 2021 tv discourse: All Creatures Great and Small, We Are Lady Parts, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Reservation Dogs, Euphoria, and Maid. Spoiler alert: they all slap (with one notable exception - bet you can't guess!).

08 Oct 2019 | Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club: Make Each Other Watch A Hatewatch Part 2 | 00:46:05
We're back (on schedule!) for Part 2 of our regrettable series, Make Each Other Watch A Hatewatch. This week, Kelsey has a moral crisis about watching TV on a laptop as we discuss the MTV series Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club. We're so traumatized by the whole thing that we might buy a whole beach in Mykonos. So join us for hot Annie James takes, Lohan Group empire business updates, and ultimately more discussions of Below Deck Mediterranean. And remember, if you want to be our brand ambassador, please rate and review us on Apple Podcasts!

31 Aug 2021 | Girls5Eva | 00:41:27
Apparently what we were waiting five was Daniel Radcliffe doing a rendition of She'll Be Coming Around The Mountain in assless chaps (bless you Miracle Workers??). But once we get through that extremely urgent late-breaking red alert (3REAL5US), we're really here to talk about Girls5Eva. Join us for New York Lonely Boys, Tina Fey/Dolly Parton hallucinations, 4 Stars, and a 5 minute long promo of what we're going to be on our bullshit about next.

06 Jun 2018 | Nerducation Redeux: Kelsey Watched A Star War | 00:58:59
There's another Star War in theaters which means its time for another Hatewatch. This time its Kelsey who DELIGHTEDLY takes one for the team by seeing SOLO: A Star Wars Story and bringing back a whole universe of feelings, thesis ideas, and attractive disasters. Listen as she makes bold proclomations about space hijinx, the RomCom, space sex, Han Solo Lite, Sam Heughan in Space, and declares yet another unpopular Star War as HER Star War. We're also sure to rehash old favorites like Kelsey Wants Everyone To Bone, some cheap digs at the Daves, shipflags and Outlander feels. Whether or not this is YOUR Star War, it will be your hatewatch.

24 Jul 2020 | Hot or Tall | 00:58:24
Welcome to the entire episode that we've dedicated to our favorite game: Is He Hot or Is He Tall?
We take a scientific approach to the hot or tall dichotomy, discuss Kirstie's Tall Man Hierarchy, and generally spend an hour sharing the results of hours of "[celebrity name] + height" Google searches. Feel free to tweet us the heights of various famous men at @hatewatchwithus (please, no comments about our horticulture).

05 Jun 2020 | The Durrells In Corfu | 00:49:34
Note from your cohosts: This week's episode is coming to you from several weeks ago, so there's a noteworthy lack of commentary about these, our ever changing modern times! In lieu of begging for 5-star reviews, please focus your efforts on a much more worthwhile cause and join us in donating and learning how you can help at the following links: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/# https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bailfundsgeorge_floyd?refcode=cwg
Have you done that? Great! Now if what you need is some escapist tv, we fortuitously chose this week to talk about The Durrells in Corfu. This show may or may not be a prequel to Mamma Mia (yes we know there already is a prequel), and what it lacks in song and dance numbers it makes up for in sass and men that are both Hot and Tall.

05 Feb 2019 | Pilot Palooza 2018 | 01:26:03
It's that time of year where we look at the television landscape, put on our best White Savior Doctor lab coats and say, "How can I help?" We entered our third Pilot Palooza with a lot of hopes and dreams, and as it turned out nothing was our shit. After getting our squirrel on with this year's batch of shows, we may just need a montage to Coldplay's Fix You or a time machine. We watched New Amsterdam, Timeless, Glow, Sharp Objects, Vida, Killing Eve, and checked in briefly with Last Man Standing, play a quick round of Hot Or Tall, talk about a lot of other shows we would have rather been watching that weren't on the list, and nominate this year's Downward Dog because as always our heros have failed us. Let us know if there are any pilots we missed in 2018, and let us know throughout 2019 what shows you'll want us to watch! If you liked Pilot Palooza you still have two more weeks to enter us in the Sam Heughan Charity Crossfit Contest! https://www.omaze.com/experiences/sam-heughan-date-night

10 Sep 2020 | Christina and Tarek's Flip Side on the Coast 101 | 00:45:03
HGTV bought three reality shows at auction sight unseen, and despite adding a multitude of high end finishes, they're definitely over their reno budget! Will they stand to make a profit on this flip, or will they be beaten out by comps on Cottage Life Network? Who's to say? (We are. We are to say.) That's right folks, we've watched all of the Flip or Flop spinoffs with our favorite cyborg duo Christina and Tarek. From surprise weddings to on screen weeping, there is simultaneously a lot to cover and also nothing at all here.

12 Feb 2020 | Pilot Palooza 2019 | 00:59:09
It's time to welcome back our oldest Hatewatch tradition, Pilot Palooza! This year, we are mostly disappointed in the pilots and ourselves, but we muddle our way through the Pilot Dumpster Fire of 2019. We discuss Russian Doll, Slings & Arrows, Gentleman Jack, State of the Union, Fleabag, You, and the pilot that chose us, Classic Mary Berry. If you liked this episode, please gift us a subscription to Acorn TV.

30 Jun 2020 | Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga | 00:51:23
Do you like Eurovision? Do you like fun? Do you wear a mask in public? Please allow us to point you in the direction of Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, a gift from the universe for us all. We could not have fewer regrets about dedicating two hours and two bottles of rosé to this movie. It's got songs that slap! It's got Pierce Dad! Honestly, if you need something to get you through until Mamma Mia 3 or the end of quarantine (whichever comes first), you will not go wrong with this film.
Please channel the spirit of Eurovision and join us in donating and learning how you can help at the following links: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/# https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bailfundsgeorge_floyd?refcode=cwg

10 Oct 2018 | Hatewatch Holiday: COLUMBUS DAY 2018 | 01:10:56
It's time for one of our favorite Hatewatch Holidays: Christopher Columbus Day! We carry on the Hatewatch tradition of spending some time with the first two Harry Potter films. This year it's Chamber of Secrets and while we have a lot of gripes about the adaptive choices Chris Columbus made, it turned out we had a lot of gripes with JK Rowling, Ginny Weasley, and the romcoms our generation was promised. Then we discuss the 1995 film Nine Months, a nice and accidental tie in from recent events from Hatewatch Nation. Chris Columbus gets back on his bullshit, Hugh Grant is a dweeb, and y'all get the birth story you never asked for. After all, the big childbirth scene is every actresses dream??? The plot really thickens when we find cause to give thanks to Chris Columbus, which brings a whole new meaning to Columbus Day.
