01 Aug 2024 | Liver Donation To Lover and Letting Go with Hallmark Movie Mega Star Heather Krueger | 00:50:59
⭐Heather Krueger's story starts with an almost terminal diagnosis of liver disease. At 25 years old she was diagnosed with stage 4 autoimmune liver disease and was given 2 months to live. What happens next is the story only the Hallmark Channel can do justice with. She lived and married her donator. The story was a fairy tale, with twists and turns and became the number 1 most watched Hallmark movie- EVER. Once Upon A Christmas Miracle was the story that warmed your heart and made you believe in fate, God and love. Until the cracks started showing. FOLLOW HEATHER ON INSTAGRAM- Heather Krueger (@therealheatherkrueger) • Instagram photos and videos ABOUT AUTOIMMUNE LIVER DISEASE- Autoimmune hepatitis is a chronic liver disease that begins with a mistake of your immune system. Your immune system sends antibodies to your liver tissues, causing inflammation (hepatitis). These antibodies are normally supposed to attack infections in your liver tissues. But in autoimmune disease, your immune system mistakenly attacks your own healthy cells instead. Autoimmune hepatitis causes chronic inflammation in your liver, which may cause serious damage over time. Like other types of chronic hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis can lead to scarring of your liver tissues (cirrhosis). Medical treatment can help reduce the inflammation and prevent complications from developing. However, in the early stages of the disease, you may not have symptoms. ⭐Get OBSESSED with changing your life. 23 Sep 2021 | Obsessed With Kicking Depression In The Face ft Dr. Beevers | 00:26:10
Dr. Christopher Beevers talks about digital intervention as a treatment option for people who experience depression and other mental challenges. He shares about deprexis®, a digital depression therapy program, and how this web-based software for depression uses techniques similar to what you’d experience with a healthcare provider. Dr. Beevers views most digital interventions as candidates for first-line treatment. They will not replace medication or traditional therapy. But it’s just another kind of treatment option that is more accessible to people. He believes a platform like deprexis® is less threatening because people don’t have to open up to another human being and worry about being judged. Dr. Christopher Beevers is a Professor (Department of Psychology, the University of Texas at Austin) and Professor and Director of the Institute for Mental Health Research. Dr. Beevers enjoys playing tennis, bike riding, and hiking but not at the same time. What you will learn from this episode: 01:56 - What Dr. Beevers is Obsessed With 04:29 - What You Need to Know About Clinical Depression 06:38 - Deprexis - Digital Intervention 10:03 - Therapies that Work These Days 13:18 - Dr. Beevers’ Backstory 17:05 - Depression Stigma Shift 19:57 - Signs of Depression to Watch Out 21:26 - Lightning Round Resources Mentioned:

11 Apr 2024 | What is it Like To Be On The Spectrum? Autism Acceptance with Sonia Chand | 00:37:33
Sonia Chand is here to help us celebrate Autism Acceptance Month, which is the month of April. And I think for me, and there are probably a lot of parents right now listening, people who have friends that Are on the spectrum or have family members on the spectrum. I think there is a misnomer in terms of being on the spectrum, ASD, Asperger's and the whole realm of different titles in terms of autism. I know Sonia will clarify this for us because we want to become experts and the biggest advocates for autism as we are obsessed with doing that. I think there are a lot of misnomers and going back 20, 30 years ago, what did I think of autism? I thought of people that couldn't talk. I thought of people flapping their arms. I thought of people who didn't know how to express themselves, people who were relegated Or institutionalized, and I know I'm wrong about this, but this is how far we've come since the 1990s and in the 1990s, one in 150 children were diagnosed with a SD. Now in the year 2024, one in 36 children are diagnosed with a SD. is a huge discrepancy in these numbers. And I know we have Sonia Chan who is the host of on the spectrum with Sonia. We'd love her. We've known Sonia for years and she is not only a bad ass, she is. A lawyer. She's a therapist. 01 Jul 2021 | Obsessed Minisode - The One About Releasing Toxicity From Your Life ft. Dr. Sherrie Campbell | 00:07:03
In today's Minisode- Dr. Sherrie Campell and Obsessed girls Julie Lokun and Tristin Hodges understand how to cut ties with toxic people in our lives.
Join Dr. Sherrie Campbell and The Obsessed Team for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on August 7th and 8th. This exclusive summit will allow participants to ask live questions and learn the tools to live their best life every day.
For More Information On The 2-day Sherapy Summit click here!
From Dr. Campbell:
There is no easy way through life. There are two kinds of people, those who cheat, lie, steal and manipulate their way through life, with no wisdom. Then there are those who live life from the truth, authenticity, responsibility, self-examination and tenacity. We each get to decide who and how we want to go about doing this thing called life. When people live selfishly cheating their way through, life will not allow them to keep anything of any depth, substance or permanence. Everything these selfish people love will eventually leave them. Problem is, these types of people do not care because they do not love. This is painful for those of us who live life from substance, depth, and truth. We cannot understand how a human being can actually be as selfish, irresponsible and callous as toxic people are. We want to believe they are simply missing something that you could easily teach them. So, we start to put in the effort to help them, and they simply spin us like a top. The wisdom to hold is to know when enough is enough when dealing with the manipulators in our life. Wisdom is knowing we don’t want to waste one more minute with a person who fails to take any accountability for the hurt they cause. It is a wiser decision to leave them just like everyone else before us has. In reality, this is what they want, or they would have shown up and done better. So, let them be the horrible people they make the choice to be as you move forward to better.

RUN LIKE HELL from Toxic RELATIONSHIPS! Let's get the inside scoop on toxic relationships and The Wolf of Wall Street with Dr. Nadine Macaluso, second wife to Jordan Belfort. In the bustling streets of Brooklyn, amidst the struggles of living on welfare, a young girl's story began—a tale that would weave through the highs and lows of life, ultimately culminating in resilience and triumph. Meet Dr. Nadine Macaluso, the real-life counterpart to the captivating world of the "Wolf of Wall Street." Her journey wasn't paved with gold but with sheer determination and unwavering spirit. But fortunately, she shares insights on how to get out of it! Dr. Laura Cobb is a life coach who empowers high-achieving women to rid themselves of fear, guilt, and shame to proudly and confidently suit up, show up, step up, and speak up at every opportunity. It was a conversion that nearly brought us to tears. You will discover his intuitive ability to understand trauma, where we do not even know trauma in our lives, is genius! Dr. Nima reveals that when we understand trauma, we will understand when things get triggered. Our body goes into this active protective state. And it's trying to go into protection. He explains that we need to understand and validate our autonomic nervous system state first and join ourselves where we are at without judging our feelings for being wrong before we consider the law of attraction. He emphasizes that the problem is that the law of attraction is missing key steps that are damaging to those who are trauma survivors, which all of us are. He reminds us that our tears are part of the healing. And if we want to understand our history and come to peace with it, we have to go to our parents' history and their parents' history. 01 Dec 2022 | Obsessed With Turning Setbacks into Comebacks with Mike (C-Roc) Ciorrocco | 00:32:15
Everybody experiences difficulties, hurt, and pain in life. It would be more surprising if we did not encounter any problems at all. How we deal with these situations makes us who we are. The saying that we learn more from our failures than our successes is true, especially regarding toxicities and setbacks in our lives. These experiences can shape us in ways we never thought possible – for better or worse. However, we have the power to choose how these things impact us. We can either let them control us or use them as rocket fuel to propel us forward. In this episode, we're going to explore with Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco how to convert setbacks and toxicities in our lives into rocket fuel that can help us break barriers and level up. In addition, Mike shares his story of how he used his life experiences to transform and achieve his full potential. For Mike, if we want to maintain our current level of success or even take things to the next level, we need to constantly assess ourselves – even when things are going well. Mike is the Co-Founder of the innovative tech platform 'blooprinted,' the powerhouse behind the "What Are You Made Of?" podcast, and the best-selling author of 'ROCKET FUEL: Convert Setbacks. We all have bad days and your vibrational energy is always a work in progress. You get what you put into. 23 Apr 2024 | Change Your Life and Share Your Story With Julie Lokun | 00:06:02
In today's episode, we delve into the complexities of life's challenges and the importance of knowing you're not alone. I share some profound realizations I've had recently, emphasizing the value of having a coach, therapist, or impartial confidant to navigate life's twists and turns, big or small. Even those seemingly trivial issues can weigh heavily on us, impacting our daily narratives and self-perception. We often find ourselves battling our inner demons, especially during certain stages of life or under external pressures like hormonal shifts or dreary weather. Reflecting on past joys, I realize the need to break free from unhealthy c oping mechanisms, like escaping into Netflix binges, and instead seek genuine connections and community interactions. This realization is a cathartic journey, acknowledging that while my struggles may not be as severe as others', they are still valid and worth sharing. I aspire to be a beacon of strength and positivity for others, but honesty compels me to admit my own struggles. Suppressing emotions only perpetuates isolation, hindering the potential for empathy and understanding among us all. So, let's embrace the power of storytelling, both internally and externally. Let's challenge the facade of perfection and encourage authenticity. Because it's through these shared experiences and vulnerabilities that we truly connect and find solace in our shared humanity. We want to know who you are obsessed with--Watch Us LIVE on YouTube Every Monday - @obsessedpodcast Join us as we interview thought leaders like Gary Vaynerchuk, Evan Carmichael, Dr. Laura Berman and MORE! 14 Apr 2022 | Obsessed with Belonging ft. Sedruola Maruska (The Brené Brown Inspired Series) | 00:28:51
What is belonging? Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines belonging as: A practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are. We have to belong to ourselves as much as we need to belong to others. Any belonging that asks us to betray ourselves is not true belonging. We all want to feel like we belong, that we are a part of something. It's a basic human need that drives our social behaviors. We see this in how we form groups, whether at school, at work, or in our communities. A sense of belonging is important because it can help people feel supported and connected to their community. It can also lead to positive emotional states like happiness, satisfaction, and pride. And when people feel like they don't belong, they often experience loneliness, isolation, and even depression. In order to create a sense of belonging, there is a need to focus on creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable sharing their ideas. In this episode, our guest Sedruola Maruska shares her story of how she's always putting herself in uncomfortable places to grow as a human being and make connections with people of all cultures. Growing up in different environments shaped her desire to make people feel comfortable and feel like other people want to hear and understand what they're saying. Sedruola (or Sadie) is a passionate speaker and consultant on accountability, equity, inclusion, and social justice, focusing on cultivating diverse cultures and spaces. Her podcast, Diversity Dish, delves into conversations with marginalized people from all walks of life who share stories of experiencing, overcoming, and finding solutions for discrimination, prejudice, and racism within industries. What You Will Learn From This Episode 02:37 - The feeling of belonging 03:52 - Sadie’s experiences with different cultures 08:46 - Finding belonging in different cultures 15:00 - Authentically stepping into belonging 21:24 - Finding one’s voice through self-reflection 25:36 - Being intuitive and the self as a work in progress 28:58 - The importance of mindfulness Resources Mentioned

Today we have big news at the #obsessedpodcast! We are celebrating Brene Brown's research on emotions and talking joy! Listen in to hear our latest joyful news! We are obsessed with Brene Brown's latest book, Atlas of The Heart. This is what is inspiring us to take a deeper dive into these emotions. Joy is a positive attitude that comes from feeling connected to yourself. Here’s the thing: you need to be vulnerable in order to experience joy. Dr. Brené Brown, a research professor at the University of Houston, has talked extensively about joy, vulnerability, and gratitude. How can you feel utter joy while going through pain? Is it possible? Can joy be the antidote to life's biggest challenges? How do you feel joy when you are grieving or experiencing trauma? Can joy and pain co-exist? What is the difference between being happy and feeling joy? Do you struggle to see the joy in the everyday? This is an issue many people face and do not know what to do. Today Jules and Tia give an intimate glimpse. that at times seem painful and then, sometimes have immeasurable joy. This conversation will have you rethinking your journey on earth. 28 Apr 2022 | Sneak Peek: Obsessed with Begin Again Podcast featuring Sarah Plowman | 00:36:32
In our society, we learn from others that our emotions are bad, and we need to tough it out, power through, and be all smiles and sunshine. We learn to bottle up our emotions, eventually turning into shame or guilt. We don't know how to deal with them, so we shove them away and ignore them until they come back louder than ever before. When we're feeling our emotions, we might feel like we need to get rid of them as quickly as possible or that they make us a problem that needs fixing. But this must not be the case! What if we could actually allow ourselves to feel any emotion, positive and negative, that comes up for us? Our guest, Sarah Plowman, tells us that emotions exist for a reason: to tell us something important about ourselves and our lives. When we become blocked from our feelings, we might act out in ways harmful to ourselves or others. To understand what they're trying to tell us, Sarah shares with us how to be in touch with our emotions without the need to suppress them. Sarah is a stay-at-home-mom and a 6-figure business coach who helps people become incredible entrepreneurs, elevating all areas of their lives through being more self-confident, self-assured, and authentic human beings. What You Will Learn From This Episode: 01:23 - Feeling our emotions as a superpower 07:50 - Experiencing our emotions without trying to fix it 17:19 - Emotion as information 18:50 - Not being in a hurry with our emotions 24:18 - The contrast between self-confidence and confidence 27:11 - Cultivating and building our emotional awareness 29:07 - Redefining emotional health 33:04 - Intentionally choosing our thoughts Connect with Sarah Plowman

30 Aug 2021 | Obsessed Minisode - Why The Past Is An Illusion | 00:04:46
We all have memories, some that we cherish and others that are painful. What is your most vivid memory? When you think about it, what do you see in your mind's eye? Is it the way the sun was shining on a particular day or how happy you felt at a certain time in your life? Or maybe there is an event from long ago where every detail stands out clearly as if it were happening right now. Our memories can be very powerful but they are also not always accurate representations of our past experiences because so much has been forgotten over time. Memories evolve over time and with each new experience which means there are parts of them that will never be known to us again. The more often someone recalls their past, the more likely it is to be inaccurate.
There are a lot of reasons to let go of the past. It is an illusion and it can be used as fuel for your future success. But, what if you're not ready to do that? What if you need to learn from the past before letting it go? This episode shows why looking back at the mistakes we have made in our lives is not always helpful and sometimes downright destructive.

02 May 2023 | Obsessed with Controversy, Radical Acceptance and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex | 00:15:57
In recent years, the public has been captivated by the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle, the American actress who became a member of the British Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Meghan has faced intense scrutiny and criticism from both the media and the public, leading to a broader conversation about issues of racism, mental health, and the importance of living your truth. One of the key themes that have emerged from the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle is the concept of radical acceptance. Radical acceptance refers to the process of accepting and acknowledging the reality of a situation, without judgment or resistance. In the case of Meghan, radical acceptance means acknowledging the systemic racism and sexism she has faced, both from the media and from members of the Royal Family. It also means accepting the mental health struggles she has experienced as a result of this scrutiny. Living your truth is another important theme that has emerged from the Meghan Markle controversy. This means being true to yourself, even if it goes against societal norms or expectations. Meghan has been criticized for breaking with tradition and asserting her own identity as an independent woman and a person of color. However, many have applauded her for being true to herself and for using her platform to speak out against injustice and discrimination. Overall, the Meghan Markle controversy has sparked important conversations about issues of racism, mental health, and living your truth. By practicing radical acceptance and staying true to ourselves, we can all work towards creating a more just and equitable society. GET TIA'S BOOK-- OBSESSED WITH MINDFUL EATING HERE! 17 Mar 2022 | Obsessed with Vulnerability ft. Rev. Leslie Peters, RN (The Brené Brown Inspired Series) | 00:32:49
What is vulnerability? Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines and describes vulnerability as: The emotion that we experience during times of uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure. In our culture, we tend to equate vulnerability with weakness. We see it as a character flaw, something to be ashamed of and hidden away. But, vulnerability is, in fact, a sign of courage. It takes great courage to reveal our authentic selves to others, open ourselves up and be vulnerable. We tap into a wellspring of love and connection that allows us to form meaningful relationships when we do so. In this episode, Rev. Leslie Peters is here to share how she was able to see her authentic self through vulnerability. The abuse and neglect she experienced throughout her life left her feeling disconnected. This led her to a lifelong practice to give others what she needed. Uncovering the true meaning of love through her practice, Rev. Leslie felt the need to release her ‘armor,’ allowing herself to step into her courage, live with an open heart, and find power in vulnerability. For Rev. Leslie, being vulnerable is also the ability to stand and own your truth regardless of the consequences. Rev. Leslie, the Heart Nurturer, has been helping people for 32 years. She is a registered nurse, an ordained minister, a trauma and resilience expert, and a transformational conversationalist. She is on a mission to create a safe space for trauma survivors to unapologetically see, accept, and reconnect with their true selves. What You Will Learn From This Episode 02:53 - What Rev. Leslie Peters is obsessed with 03:45 - Defining love and uncovering its true meaning 07:05 - Becoming vulnerable and opening your heart 09:39 - Rev. Leslie’s definition of vulnerability 10:45 - Taking off the armor and showing your true self 13:21 - Standing in your own truth 16:25 - Tapping into your authentic self 25:14 - Living wholeheartedly through tough times Resources Mentioned

04 Jun 2024 | Perfect Mess and Why We Try To Prove Ourselves | 00:19:19
In a world where superficial interactions often dominate, the importance of real conversations cannot be overstated. Engaging in deep, meaningful dialogue allows us to connect on a profound level, fostering understanding and empathy. When these authentic exchanges take place within the context of female friendships, their impact is even more powerful. True female friendships provide a unique source of strength, support, and inspiration. They empower women to be their authentic selves, challenge each other to grow, and celebrate each other's victories. These bonds, built on trust and genuine connection, are a vital source of resilience and joy, enriching our lives in immeasurable ways. Feeling the constant need to prove yourself can be exhausting and detrimental to your well-being. To break free from this cycle, start by recognizing your inherent worth. Understand that your value is not contingent on external validation or achievements but is intrinsic and unchanging. Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a close friend. Accept that making mistakes and experiencing setbacks are natural parts of life and do not diminish your worth. Embrace your imperfections and learn to appreciate your strengths and unique qualities. Set healthy boundaries to protect your time and energy. Say no to activities or commitments that drain you or are motivated solely by a desire to impress others. Focus on what genuinely matters to you and aligns with your values and passions. Surround yourself with supportive and affirming people who appreciate you for who you are, not just what you do. Positive relationships can reinforce your sense of self-worth and reduce the pressure to constantly prove yourself. Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, independent of others' opinions. Pursuing your interests and passions can boost your confidence and help you find satisfaction within yourself. Lastly, challenge and reframe negative self-talk. When you feel inadequate or strive for approval, remind yourself of your intrinsic value and past achievements. Affirmations and mindfulness practices can also help you stay grounded and centered. By adopting these strategies, you can gradually release the need to prove yourself and cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance and peace. ⭐Get OBSESSED with changing your life. 27 Feb 2023 | The Power of The Enneagram With Dr. Tom LaHue : Enneagram Superstar | 00:41:56
Welcome to the Obsessed Podcast, where we dive deep into all things Enneagram with the Enneagram superstar, Dr. Tom LaHue. In this episode, we will explore the nine different Enneagram types and how the Enneagram can change relationships. We are joined by co-hosts Life Coach Brittni Finlay and Enneagram Enthusiast and Pampered Chef Phenom Teri Bales. Learn more about Dr. Tom @ https://tomlahue.com The Enneagram is a personality typing system that helps individuals understand themselves and others better. There are nine different Enneagram types, each with its own unique motivations, fears, and behaviors. Type 1, also known as the Perfectionist, is driven by a desire to be good and right. They have a strong sense of right and wrong and are motivated by the need to improve themselves and the world around them. Type 2, the Helper, is motivated by a desire to be loved and needed. They are often generous and giving, but can also be manipulative in their efforts to help others. Type 3, the Achiever, is driven by a desire to succeed and be recognized for their accomplishments. They are often goal-oriented and can struggle with feeling like they are never doing enough. Type 4, the Individualist, is motivated by a desire to be unique and special. They are often creative and introspective, but can also struggle with feelings of envy and melancholy. Type 5, the Investigator, is driven by a desire to understand and have knowledge. They are often independent and cerebral, but can also struggle with social interactions and emotional expression. Type 6, the Loyalist, is motivated by a desire for security and stability. They are often loyal and responsible, but can also struggle with anxiety and indecisiveness. Type 7, the Enthusiast, is driven by a desire to experience life to the fullest. They are often spontaneous and adventurous, but can also struggle with impulsivity and avoiding negative emotions. Type 8, the Challenger, is motivated by a desire for control and power. They are often assertive and decisive, but can also struggle with vulnerability and empathy. Type 9, the Peacemaker, is driven by a desire for harmony and peace. They are often easy-going and adaptable, but can also struggle with indecisiveness and avoidance of conflict. Understanding the Enneagram types can help individuals better understand themselves and others. It can also provide insight into how different types can interact and affect one another in relationships. For example, a Type 2 and Type 8 may struggle in a relationship because the Type 2 may feel overshadowed by the Type 8's assertiveness and need for control. Similarly, a Type 4 and Type 7 may struggle because the Type 7's desire for constant stimulation may clash with the Type 4's need for introspection and emotional depth. However, through understanding and awareness of each other's Enneagram types, individuals can learn to navigate these differences and strengthen their relationships. This can include practicing empathy, communication, and understanding each other's motivations and fears. 09 Nov 2021 | Obsessed Minisode - The One About Stopping Stress Now | 00:07:33
Here are the tips we believe will help unrattle your nerves this holiday season. Don't forget to check out what we are up to! #obsessedpodcast https://linktr.ee/crownandcompassgirls The ever-present toll of the global pandemic is the backdrop for how lives are navigated these days. It has created a foundational shift in how Americans are navigating their lives. The essence of the human experience has deteriorated with the lack of social interaction, job opportunities, familial anchors, and shifts of everyday routines. This isolating experience has been a direct cause in the uptick of presenting diagnosis of anxiety and depression. And the individual experience, as we self-reflect, has contributed to lower self-esteem in both adults and their children. In April, the Journal of the American Medical Association underscored the point that economic stress, social isolation, reduced access to religious services, and the collective anxiety Americans experienced increased firearm sales and healthcare worker suicides. Parenting, too, has proven to be greatly affected by the onset of pandemic stressors. A University of Oregon shows that parents with children under 5 are the most stressed. Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, too, found that 61% of parents with youngsters aged 5, 6, and 7 years of age experienced the feeling of being more “nervous, anxious, or on edge” because of the pandemic. With the seeming loss of control, it is imperative we start understanding what we truly have control over. Notwithstanding mental illness, the only thing we have control over is our thoughts. And understanding the negative loops in our heads, recognizing these ruminations that are tainted in fear, and purposefully exchanging negative thoughts with powerful positive thoughts can rewire the way we approach our everyday lives. An abundance of free resources are available online to support this renewal of our thought patterns during times of marked life change. 7Cups, is an online therapeutic support networks that offers free counseling, https://www.7cups.com/. And groups such as The Squad, https://www.julielokuncoaching.com/join-the-jl-coaching-community, offers a community of empowerment and connection when authentic relationships seem to be a depleted resource. By creating an intimate environment that is infused with thought-provoking, new ways to attack our “new normal” is the first step in combatting the emotional fatigue of 2020. These 5 tips can help you calm your ever-present anxiety over the uncontrollable force 2020/21 has pushed in our laps. 1. Create a community. By building a community of positive influencers in your life, their example can be contagious. 2. Exercise. Releasing endorphins, is perhaps, the most powerful self-inducing medicine that humans can experience. Take a walk. Take an online yoga class. Join a Covid-Safe gym. Whatever your choice, just get out and start moving. 3. Know when you are at your limit. When you are about to scream or if you find yourself hibernating in your bed binging Netflix, because you just can't deal--this is the point when you need to reach out to the anchors in your life. No one can do this alone. And, even if you are technically alone, the voice of a person you trust, can be the salve that calms the calamity. 4. Find a hobby. Has there been something you have been meaning to do--but have made excuses with consistent avoidance? Pick up the paintbrush or pen and start crafting out a space to release your creative energy. This is a powerful way to shift your mind and engage in a heart-felt extension of your internal experience. 5. Write it down. A journal is an inexpensive way to funnel your feelings of angst onto paper and effectively release tension. Make this a daily practice. And remember that what you write does not have to be perfect--because that is not what the human experience is about. You will have, in essense, a historical snapshot of your experiences. Whatever method you chose, invest in yourself by working through the clutter in your brain. Remember, you are not alone. We are all in this together.

If You Want A Steamy Thriller That Will Have You On The Edge of Your Seat Check Out Double Obsession--Our New Favorite Sexy Read By Nicki Pascarella! www.nickipascarella.com Let's talk ARCHETYPES. What is an archetype? An archetype is a literary device in which a character is created based on a set of qualities or traits that are specific and identifiable for readers. The term archetype is derived from the studies and writings of psychologist Carl Jung who believed that archetypes are part of humanity’s collective unconscious or memory of universal experiences. In a literary context, characters (and sometimes images or themes) that symbolically embody universal meanings and basic human experiences, independent of time or place, are considered archetypes. 29 Sep 2022 | Obsessed with Perfectionism, Failing Brilliantly and Brene Brown ft. Laura Cobb | 00:25:41
Special Co-host Julie Riga, author of the best-selling book Stay on Course, podcast host of Stay on Course and Leadership Expert, https://julieriga.com — The fear of failure keeps many people from achieving their dreams and living a life of purpose. We often equate failure with not being good enough or not measuring up to some ideal standard. This way of thinking is actually a form of perfectionism, an unrealistic and harmful belief system. It is the voice in our head that tells us we are not good enough, that we will never be good enough. This voice leads us to believe that failure is not an option. The truth is that failure is an essential part of the human experience. Every time we fail, we get one step closer to our purpose. Without failure, we would never know what we are truly capable of. We would never push ourselves out of our comfort zones. In this episode, Dr. Laura Cobb returns with guest co-host Julie Riga to discuss fighting back against this message of perfectionism and how failure can be a path to educating ourselves towards authenticity and greatness. Dr. Laura is a life coach who empowers high-achieving women to rid themselves of fear, guilt, and shame to proudly and confidently suit up, show up, step up, and speak up at every opportunity. She sees herself as an ordinary woman making extraordinary choices one day at a time. What You Will Learn From This Episode: 02:05 - Failure leading us closer to our purpose and true calling 05:01 - Failure as a stepping stone to growth 07:42 - Contribution over contamination in a relationship 09:51 - Continuing to learn with every additional experience 11:02 - Why do we feel we need to be perfect 12:09 - The difference between shame and humiliation (Brené Brown) 16:41 - Being perfectly imperfect as a parent 20:13 - Teaching resilience to our children Resources Mentioned:

Listen to as Julie Lokun interviews renowned entrepreneur and motivational speaker Gary Vaynerchuk. The discussion revolves around the themes of failure, growth, success, regrets, and striving to do things bigger and better. Gary Vaynerchuk emphasizes the importance of embracing failure as a valuable teacher and stepping stone towards success. He shares how one of his major failures in launching a wine e-commerce business led him to pivot and build his personal brand through social media, ultimately opening up new opportunities. The conversation then shifts to the topic of growth, with Gary highlighting the significance of continuous personal and professional development. He encourages listeners to challenge themselves, step out of their comfort zones, and embrace discomfort in order to expand their capabilities. When discussing success, Gary defines it as the freedom to pursue one's passions and make a positive impact on others, rather than being solely driven by material possessions or external validation. He emphasizes the importance of leaving a lasting legacy and inspiring others along the way. Reflecting on his journey, Gary shares that he chooses to view mistakes as valuable lessons rather than dwelling on regrets. He advises focusing on the present and taking action to create a better future. Finally, Gary encourages listeners to think big while starting small. He suggests setting ambitious goals without limitations and taking gradual steps towards achieving them, consistently striving to do things bigger and better. Throughout the episode, Gary Vaynerchuk's insights and perspectives inspire listeners to embrace failure, pursue growth, redefine success, let go of regrets, and continuously push themselves to achieve greatness in their personal and professional lives. 29 Nov 2023 | How To Have A Stress Free Holiday in 2023 | 00:25:28
Navigating tough decisions during the holidays isn't about following a set of rules; it's about being true to yourself. Picture this: the holiday buzz is in the air, but amidst the festive cheer, you find yourself facing choices that aren't as merry and bright. How do you handle it, and more importantly, how do you do it with confidence? Stay True to You: In a season often laden with societal expectations and family traditions, it's easy to lose sight of what feels right for you. The first step in confidently making hard decisions is to stay true to your authentic self. Ignore the external noise and listen to your own inner compass. What resonates with your values and brings you joy? Let that guide your decisions. Embrace Imperfections: The holidays have a knack for magnifying the desire for perfection. The perfect family dinner, the perfect gift, the perfect Instagrammable moment. But here's the truth: perfection is an illusion. Embrace the imperfections, the unplanned moments, and the messy bits. Decisions become less daunting when you release the pressure to meet unrealistic standards. Accept the Unpopular Choice: Confidence in decision-making often requires embracing the possibility of being the outlier. It might mean opting for a quiet night instead of the bustling family gathering. It could be spending the holidays away from home, or pursuing a personal adventure instead. Accept that the choice aligned with your truth may not align with everyone else's, and that's perfectly okay. Prioritize Your Peace: Amidst the chaos, prioritize your peace of mind. Whether it's declining an invitation that doesn't feel right or setting boundaries with family dynamics, your mental well-being should be non-negotiable. Confidence in decision-making comes when you prioritize what brings you peace over the expectations of others. Navigate Family Dynamics with Grace: Family dynamics can be a labyrinth of emotions during the holidays. Conflicting opinions, long-held traditions, and unspoken expectations can make decisions seem like a minefield. Navigating this terrain with confidence means acknowledging the complexity, setting clear boundaries, and communicating your choices with grace. Your decisions may not always align with everyone's wishes, but that's part of the journey. Let Go of Comparison: The holiday season often invites the comparison game. Whose decorations are more festive? Whose family gathering is more joyous? Confidence in decision-making requires letting go of the need to measure up. Your choices are uniquely yours, and they need not conform to anyone else's standards. Comparison only clouds your clarity. Trust Your Intuition: In the midst of external opinions and societal expectations, your intuition is your most reliable guide. Trust that inner voice that speaks to your deepest desires and values. Decisions made from a place of authenticity and intuition are the ones you're least likely to regret. Learn and Grow: Confident decision-making is not about being flawless; it's about learning and growing. Every choice, whether smooth or challenging, offers lessons. Embrace the learning process, and view each decision as a stepping stone toward personal growth. With each choice, you refine your understanding of yourself and what brings you fulfillment. Conclusion: Making hard decisions during the holidays with confidence is a journey of self-discovery and authenticity. It's about weaving through the tinsel and noise to find your own path. So, in the midst of the festive frenzy, be kind to yourself, trust your instincts, and let the decisions reflect the unique, wonderful tapestry of you. After all, the holidays are not about meeting expectations; they're about creating moments that resonate with your heart. 🦋You are worthy. It is your birthright to accept abundance in your life. Your Obsessed Girls at #obsessedpodcast are inspired daily by Brene Brown's works. This episode is inspired by Brene Brown and her new book, Atlas Of The Heart. We often get tripped up in trying to be perfect or imposter syndrome because we are trying to project a life that deserves worthiness. Coach Julie Lokun speaks today about worthiness and what she coins, "The Brene Brown Effect". Here is some insight: It is time to understand that you belong right here. You belong at the crossroads of imperfection and exposure. When we try new things and nudge ourselves into the space of "uncomfortable" we have the option of recoiling from the situation or, we have the option to jump right in. When we jump in we are given the opportunity to embrace this beautiful mess. WARNING: This beautiful mess is an inevitable by-product of being human. Beware as it has side effects. The side effects can lead to empowering lessons and deep human connections. When holding tight to perfectionism we miss the gift of the human experience. When we are doing things over and over, we find comfort in what is familiar. However, this familiarity keeps us stuck. Think about this: Familiarity Breeds Stagnancy. “Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope empathy, accountability, and authenticity.”- Brene BrownThe Brene Brown Effect is not unlike the butterfly effect theory. The butterfly effect theory states that when a butterfly moves its wings, it can cause a cyclone in another part of the world. It has become, in modern times, a metaphor for the existence of seemingly insignificant moments that alter history and the shape of destiny. Brene Brown's teachings suggest that when we are at one with ourselves we become open to living wholeheartedly. When we embrace our birthright of being worthy of all good things, we then gain the courage to demand it in our lives. Obsessors! We want to hear from you! 30 Aug 2023 | Obsessed Minisode: The One About Life's Curveballs with Tia Morell Walden | 00:07:28
Life is what we make of it and we cannot control ANYTHING except our responses. From The Episode: It can be so easy to get caught up in thinking that we need to be married by a certain age or have kids by a certain age and that's not necessarily up to us. We only get to control what we can, which is our response. To what is happening around us. We can't always control the timing of things happening around us We can either believe in this abundant life and trust the path that we are walking on, trust that God, the universe, whatever you want to call this greater power, has our back, or we can live in this scarcity mindset of believing things that are not on time, they're showing up too late or too early and we're not prepared or we've been prepared for so long and it's still not happening for us and get really upset and I think that lack mentality of living in that world of things aren't happening for me when they're supposed to can really prevent us from getting to where we need to be when we need to be there. If we let go and just start trusting in the universe, God's time, Um, we can relax and enjoy the life that we are living, enjoy the journey to getting where we want to go without having to feel like, you know, I can't enjoy this until I've met X or until I've had this experience. And to be honest, if we are living in that mentality of, I can't have X, Joy, I can't have happiness until then, then we're not even actually going to experience that happiness once we get those things that we want, because it's always going to be something greater that we want to reach for.It can be so easy to get caught up in thinking that we need to be married by a certain age or have kids by a certain age and that's not necessarily up to us. 03 Feb 2022 | Obsessed With Empathy ft. Kevin Henry (The Brené Brown Inspired Series) | 00:33:47
What is empathy? Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines empathy as: A skill set that is one of the most powerful tools of compassion. Empathy and compassion are related but distinct concepts since both involve understanding another person's situation. The concept of empathy is rooted in identifying, relating, and being present to another person's feelings. It does not necessarily mean you feel the same thing that the other person is feeling. In this episode, Kevin Henry joins us in exploring and understanding all facets of empathy. For Kevin, people fear the feeling of empathy since it makes us more vulnerable and makes us remember specific occurrences in the past. He also gives tips regarding opening ourselves to other perspectives, allowing us to feel empathy fully. Kevin pointed out that disallowing ourselves in doing this opens the door to more fear, anxiety, and nonacceptance towards other people. Kevin is changing the narrative of how people navigate their lives with his 30 years of experience in Program Management, Diversity-Equity-Inclusion education, journalism, training, writing, acting fields, public speaking, and as the host of All The Way Authentic podcast. What You Will Learn From This Episode 02:27 - What Kevin Henry is obsessed with 02:41 - Working on your empathy tools 05:33 - Applying empathy in professional relationships 09:14 - Learning how to listen better 11:32 - Embracing diversity and inclusion 15:17 - Upbringing as an influence on one’s ability to listen and understand 17:44 - Different degrees of empathy based on one’s profession 22:48 - Treating everybody as an individual 28:45 - Being open to other perspectives 30:48 - Kevin’s final message and tips Resources Mentioned

13 Oct 2021 | Obsessed Minisode - The One About Judging Others | 00:09:49
We all judge. It is a fact of human nature that we instinctually judge others based on their appearance, their mannerisms, or just their plain messy lives.
On this minisode of the #obsessedpodcast we ask:
Why do we judge others?
Why do people judge us?
How can we be better and do better? When we drop our waterline and become visible and more transparent to others we embrace vulnerability. Vulnerability is a skill that allows others to connect with you authentically and to trust you.
Life is messy-enjoy the mess!

11 Jul 2021 | Obsessed Minisode: The One About Hope Is Dope | 00:04:50
What is hope? Are you hoping for something more in your life?
Are you hoping for change? Are you hoping that your partner will change and everything will get better? Or are you hoping that your job will get better?
Hope is a tool that is truly the one thing that guides us out of the valley of despair. On the flipside, hope can be addictive as well. When we intuitively know when something is bad for us and we keep hoping it will change-hope is a way we tell ourselves this bad situation is ok.
Coach Julie Lokun was inspired to do this minisode by a chapter in the book "But It's Your Family" written by the Obsessed Girl's dear friend Dr. Sherrie Campbell. Dr. Sherrie Campbell and Coach Jules are holding a summit on this topic and so many more.
Learn about the upcoming summit here.
And as always-get obsessed with your life.

12 Mar 2023 | Obsessed With Living in the Moment and Realizing That There is Nothing To Be Fixed | 00:09:07
Join Tia as she shares her raw experiences of her epiphany that there is nothing to fix? We discuss the beauty of embracing the present moment and accepting life as it is. Today's episode is centered around the question, "What if there is nothing to fix in my life?" We often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, constantly trying to improve ourselves and our circumstances, but what if everything is already okay? Let's explore this concept further. Segment 1: Acknowledging the Present We tend to focus on the future and the things we want to achieve, but what about the present? It's essential to take a moment and reflect on our current situation, what we have, and who we are. It's okay to appreciate our present circumstances, even if they're not perfect. We can find contentment and happiness by accepting and embracing the present. Segment 2: The Pressure to Constantly Improve Society puts an immense amount of pressure on us to be better, whether it's our relationships, career, or personal growth. It's easy to get caught up in this cycle of constantly needing to improve, but what if we don't need fixing? It's okay to recognize our strengths and focus on what we're good at, rather than always striving for perfection. Segment 3: Finding Joy in the Mundane We often associate joy with big accomplishments or milestones, but what about finding joy in the simple things in life? We can find contentment and happiness in the mundane, everyday tasks we do. It's about shifting our perspective and appreciating the small things in life. Segment 4: Embracing Imperfections We all have flaws and imperfections, but that's what makes us unique and human. Instead of constantly trying to fix ourselves, we can embrace our imperfections and learn to love ourselves as we are. Self-acceptance is a powerful tool that can bring us a lot of peace and happiness. Thank you for listening to our podcast today. We hope that this episode has given you some insight into the beauty of embracing the present moment and accepting life as it is. 13 Jan 2022 | Obsessed With Living Wholeheartedly ft. Susan Burrell | 00:28:36
Susan Burrell loves supporting women in their inner growth toward finding their true empowerment. And she shares how we can truly discover our true selves in this episode. For Susan, empowerment is about having the courage to live your life according to what you truly desire. It's about making decisions free from influences such as fears or doubt but rather being driven by a real sense of purpose and passion. Susan also talks about how to tap into your intuitive side -- in which she states people are afraid of their inner wisdom due to its psychic nature. She relates this to her own experience as she went through a long, contentious divorce after 28 years of marriage. Susan is an Intuitive Healer and Spiritual Guide at the crossroads of life with more than 25 years of experience counseling and supporting people in transforming from the inside out. Susan is living a life that is wholehearted. After living through many of life's challenges she made the choice (like our girl Tina Turner) to own her life and use her intuition to make powerful changes. What is wholehearted living? Simply put, it means living and loving with your whole heart. According to Brené Brown, wholehearted living “is about engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness.” It’s understanding that yes, you are imperfect, vulnerable, and afraid, but you are also brave and worthy of love and belonging. 27 Jan 2022 | Obsessed with Loneliness (The Brené Brown Inspired Series) | 00:27:26
What is loneliness? Brené Brown, the author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines loneliness as: The absence of meaningful social interaction—an intimate relationship, friendships, family gatherings, or even community or work group connections. Today the world appears to be becoming more and more disconnected, with the cracks between people, races, genders, ethnicities, political beliefs, religions, and philosophies widening at an alarming rate. But, when we look deeper, this disconnection and the political and economic machines that are moving people apart are ironically spawning movements bringing people closer together than ever. People are united in their humanity, joined by their hearts, by their desire for a better world, and the sincere wish to help others who are less fortunate. It takes tremendous strength and courage to remain open-hearted and vulnerable in the world we live in today. And yet, to survive, we must lead from the heart. And we must belong to ourselves. Loneliness is disconnection (versus being alone). We are social creatures, and in today's climate, it is easier and easier to become disconnected, which leads to loneliness. In Tia's case, she suffered immense grief after her sister's death. And she disconnected from all those around her. She was surrounded by many people - yet felt a deep loneliness. In this episode, Tia and Julie share their insights and stories about facing the feeling of loneliness and how it leads to disconnection – and how to pick yourself up from being lonely and disconnected. This episode is dedicated to Shelby Sandahl, a loving sister to Tia who has touched many people's lives. What You Will Learn From This Episode: 01:23 - The difference between loneliness and being alone 02:02 - Linking loneliness to disconnection 06:40 - Getting into the darkroom 08:31 - Avoiding being hard on yourself 11:02 - The need to become self-aware 11:37 - Coping with the inevitability of change 13:36 - Having an armor as a means for pain protection 14:52 - Rebuilding and reconnecting with your community Resources Mentioned:

16 Feb 2022 | Obsessed With Love: ft. Dr. Jackie Black (The Brené Brown Inspired Series) | 00:31:00
What is love? Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines love as: We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection. Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can be cultivated between two people only when it exists within each one of them—we can love others only as much as we love ourselves. In this episode, Dr. Jackie Black shares how couples can cultivate love and sustain it not only in this month of love but in each and every day of their lives. Dr. Jackie aims for couples to live every day like they are on their honeymoon, embracing and solidifying couplehood as a result. She also focuses on the importance of connection – knowing how to connect and stay connected, which she believes most couples don’t know is the key to a long-lasting relationship. She gives tips on how to master this art of connection, mainly through being openhearted and vulnerable. Dr. Jackie is a relationship educator and a board-certified couples coach who has helped over 1,000 couples in eight countries learn, grow, thrive, and have fun together for them to experience deeper, more meaningful connections and intimacy and rekindle and strengthen their relationships. 07 Apr 2024 | How To Be Great Because What We Are Doing Is Not Working with Evan Carmichael #believe | 00:22:00
There are a lot of things that you can do to be good. But what does it take to be great? That's one of the things that we'll delve into in this second part of an obsessed-filled episode featuring Evan Carmichael. Many people aspire to goodness, but few aspire to greatness. Why is this? Is it because they don't believe they have what it takes? Or is it because they don't know what it takes? It is often said that failure is the key to success. This may be true, but it is also important to remember that greatness can come from failure. It's not enough to be good at something to be great. You must be passionate about it and willing to put in the hard work to get there. In this episode, we'll explore with Evan what it takes to go from being good at something to being great at it, in addition to digging deeper introspectively with the insights about belief and grief from last week's episode! Evan believes that entrepreneurs can be successful on their own terms. While dealing with some failures and problems, Evan was still able to find success at a young age and now runs a highly successful YouTube channel, is an author of four books, and is recognized by Forbes as a renowned speaker on leadership and social media. Evan is working to solve the world's biggest problem of people not believing in themselves enough through good karma projects and initiatives that have the potential to impact a billion people. What You Will Learn From This Episode: 00:53 - Too much cannot be a good enough reason 03:59 - Limiting your talents when it could be greater 05:54 - Going after the greatness 10:58 - Stressing over things while grieving 11:50 - Failing to accomplish your goals and dancing towards success 16:39 - Knowing exactly what you don’t want Resources Mentioned:

14 Oct 2021 | Obsessed with Getting to the Root of Our Problems ft. Dr. Nima Rahmany | 00:27:30
In this second part of our interview with Dr. Nima Rahmany, we are bringing our outtakes right back at you.
Dr. Nima Rahmany is a Chiropractor turned Edutainer on a mission to teach business executives, entrepreneurs, and teenagers how to dissolve the Root Cause of stress.
