15 Nov 2024#074 - US Election Emotional Fallout: Supporting Others00:07:09

Q: Want to really support others, the world, and yourself through the US election aftermath?

With the US election results fresh on everyone’s minds, there’s been a palpable wave of emotions echoing across social media and personal conversations—some are celebrating, while others feel deeply unsettled.

Even many folks outside the USA are feeling it, with some conversations turning to confusion, disbelief, and fear.

In today’s rapid-fire 7-minute podcast episode, we dive into how to navigate emotionally charged situations—whether you're struggling yourself or supporting someone who is.

And even if you're feeling great, there’s an opportunity here to embrace empathy and understanding.

Here’s a taste of what we'll cover:

  • How media keeps us hooked by amplifying fear and uncertainty.
  • Emotional reactions like shock, disbelief, grief, fear, and anger—and how they might be showing up.
  • How seeing "separate realities" in this aftermath can help you deepen your understanding of how our human experience works.
  • How the power of deep listening helps us truly understand someone’s world, even if profoundly different from our own.
  • And why there's a huge opportunity for connection here...

... because when we listen for each other’s wisdom, we discover common ground—and that’s where real personal and societal transformation begins.

This episode is a recording from one of my advanced programs, where I answered a powerful question from a Clarity Coach.

The insights felt especially relevant right now, so I decided to share them with you right away.

29 Nov 2018#017 - Keynote - Resilient Young Minds: A Vision For The Future00:17:57

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, you’re going to hear a keynote speech I gave at the Resilient Young Minds conference recently. The conference was attended by Teachers, school leaders, Youth Workers, Charity workers, Coaches, Parents, Business owners and a number of young people who joined us. The conference set out to demonstrate that young people:
- Are not broken
- Do not need to be 'fixed'
- Have resilience, resourcefulness and wellbeing inbuilt

Of course, this doesn't just apply to young people - it applies to all of us. I was joined by many friends and colleagues, and it was really heartening to see how many young people and people who support young people are being moved by this understanding.

My team and I believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is the truth of who they really are, so this conference was a great opportunity for us to take a next step towards our vision: to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing.

In the weeks and months ahead, my team and I are going to be announcing new products and programmes that are fully aligned with this vision.

In the meantime, thank-you for sharing this journey with me, and I hope you enjoy this brief talk.

30 Mar 2020#036 - MASTERCLASS Finding your bearings in turbulent times01:00:41

I'm Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. You don't need me to tell you that, as I record this, we're living through a time of extreme volatility and uncertainty. One aspect of that is the coronavirus and its health impacts. Another aspect is the societal and economic impacts of our response to the pandemic. But the third, and for many people the most troubling aspect is the psychological and emotional distress that people are dealing with in relation to all this.

This week's podcast is a recording of an online masterclass I did recently called "Finding your bearings in turbulent times."

As you listen, we’re going to be exploring the things that can help you to…

- Navigate these rapidly changing circumstances.
- Keep your bearings (and find them again quickly if you should lose them).
- Be of real help to the people around you when they start losing their sh*t.

You'll also hear me do live Q&A as I deal with the various questions and concerns people (quite naturally) have as they're navigating these strange times.

So here's the Masterclass...

19 Jul 2020#048 - Racism, Injustice and the 3 Principles - A Conversation with Davida Arnold00:50:17

Welcome to the podcast - I’m Jamie Smart. It’s now nearly two months since the tragic killing of George Floyd sparked a wave of protests that's echoing around the globe. And it got me wondering...

"As a member of the principles community, what does it make sense for you to say or do in relation to this?"

And as I wondered about this, I realised something...
I realised that I didn't know the answer to the question.

So I reached out to my good friend and colleague, Clarity Coach Davida Arnold.

Davida is a coach and educator based in Columbus Ohio. She's a mother with young children, and she’s a black woman.

As Davida and I talked, I realised it could be valuable for us to have a conversation to release more widely.

Our discussion didn’t have an agenda per se - the purpose was to have a connected conversation to see what we could discover about 'the truth of the matter'.
We had a great conversation, and afterwards, we both felt it might make sense to have a follow-up chat in a month or so. For now, here’s the episode...

14 Mar 2018RMP038 Presents: Tanya Alexander - Escape from Fear00:27:35

In this episode of the results mind set podcast we are doing something a little bit different. What you will hear is the recording of a 1-1 coaching session I did with one of my clients Tanya Alexander for my other podcast (The Profitable Coaches Podcast).

The reason I’m releasing this episode here is because of what I was coaching Tanya around. Tanya is doing a programme of mine called ‘Escape Velocity – The Transition Blueprint’ and during that programme people get 1-1 coaching in a group context.

When Tanya came on for her coaching session she wanted to get coaching around a number of fears – agoraphobia, claustrophobia, fear of flying and generalised anxiety, and so the reason I thought that would be such a great topic for this podcast is because the solution with those is the same as it is for ALL our fears, worries and anxieties.

If you are a coach, therapist or trainer and you want to listen to more of these coaching sessions OR if you are just interested in hearing more of this kind of stuff you can subscribe to the Profitable Coaches Podcast by heading over to http://www.jamiesmart.com/pcp

20 Dec 2024#78 - Deep Enrollment: Aligning with What Truly Matters00:07:21

A few weeks ago, I asked a group of coaches what they most wanted to improve in their practice. The top answer? Getting better at enrolling clients.

That’s why this week, I’m sharing a short extract from my ClarityPro programme, where we dive into what I call Deep Enrollment.

Deep Enrollment isn’t just about ‘signing people up’—it’s about connecting with something else entirely… An ‘X-factor’ that’s deeply authentic, profound and highly motivating.

Because let’s face it; if someone’s going to invest their time, their money and their energy in working with you at a deep level, it’s got to be for something that really matters to them.

And here’s the most surprising aspect of it: you need to eat your own cooking first. Before you can ‘deeply enroll’ your client, you need to deeply enroll yourself!

In this episode, I share:

  • The ‘X-factor’ that’s essential for enrolling clients at a deep level
  • A personal story of how I hit a wall when trying to teach this concept—and the realization that got me unstuck.
  • Simple yet profound questions to help you uncover what truly matters.
  • How aligning with your own heartfelt desires can transform the way you connect with clients.

Enjoy the episode!

Tons of love,
Jamie

11 Nov 2019#031 - The future of psychology?01:14:34
Do the principles represent the the future of psychology?
I’m Jamie Smart, and what you’re about to hear is me being interviewed by the author Amir Karkouti, the creator of the What The F*#$ Are The Principles? group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/299806010361726/

In this conversation I make the case for why the principles behind clarity (as realised & articulated by Syd Banks) represent the future of psychology. We cover quite a lot of ground in this session including:

- What distinguishes the principles from every other psychological and spiritual model

- My take on what Syd Banks meant when he said "Thought is the missing link"

- Why I believe the two most valuable things you can discover are how experience is created and who you really are

The session also includes a Q&A session where I was asked some really great questions, including...

- How can you be so certain these principles represent the future of psychology?

- Why teach this rather than (for instance) "pure non-duality" or some other spiritual or psychological model?

- How to free yourself from the need to convince anyone (and the challenges inherent in that)

So with that, here’s my conversation with Amir…
18 Nov 2020#053 - Being Visible and Growing Your Audience01:01:14

The episode you’re about to hear is a mentoring session on visibility & growing your audience that I did with Matt Fox. Matt’s one of the coaches taking part in the Clarity Advanced Coach & Facilitator Programme, and he and I met just over a year ago when he joined the Thriving Coaches Blueprint. And one of the things he developed while he was on that programme was his podcast, “The Heart of Dad”.

Matt’s a father himself, and he’s passionate about supporting dads to really be there in their children’s lives. In fact, many of his coaching clients are entrepreneurs who are also dads and want to experience more clarity and heart in their work and in their lives as a whole.

So about a month ago, Matt mentioned that he was planning to do the ‘Heart of Dad’ summit, an event where he was going to interview coaches and teachers who have had an impact in Matt’s life, and who are also fathers. Many of these people are dear friends and colleagues of mine, guys like Dicken Bettinger, Dr Bill Pettit, Amir Karkouti and Dr Mark Howard.

If you want to register for the summit, go to https://www.heartofdad.com/summit

Matt invited me to be one of the people he interviewed, and he happened to mention that he wanted to get more visibility and grow his audience for the summit, and that’s when I had an idea.

During my most recent Clarity Certification Training, I was talking to the students about the whole domain of business and the principles. We had a really great time, and everyone learned a lot, and it inspired me to start working on something new: the Clarity Pro Business Accelerator. I haven’t formally launched it yet, but I’m starting to get a group of founder members together, and I had an idea…

I invited Matt to have a one-hour conversation with me where we’d explore how he can grow his audience for his summit, and we’d stream it LIVE as an example of Clarity Pro Business Accelerator content.

We did the session, and lots of people found it really useful, so I’ve decided to launch it on the podcast. So here’s the episode!

PS it’s worth knowing that we’ve only got 2 places left on the 2021 Clarity Certification Training. There’s an early booking price which expires at the end of this month, on November 30th, but it’s likely that the programme will be sold out by then (we’re limiting it to 36 places and the first 34 have already been taken), so if you want to find out more, go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach that’s www.JamieSmart.com/coach

13 Dec 2024#77 - COACHING DEMO: The Two Things You Have to Have Before a Client Will Enroll with You00:20:01

In today's episode, I’m sharing a simple but profound coaching demo from a recent workshop.

During this session, you’ll hear Morag, a coach, open up about a “marketing problem.”

She’d been struggling to connect with a key organization, feeling stuck on how to communicate the value of her work in a way that truly landed with them.

Together, we explored what I know to be the two essential things you have to have before a client will decide to enroll with you.

By the end of the session, Morag had a powerful realization - one that could shift your perspective on how to engage potential clients, too.

I won’t spoil the surprise here, but I’m confident you’ll find plenty of value in listening to the coaching session.

What I love about this demo is how relatable it is. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, we’ve all faced moments where we’ve felt stuck or unsure of how to approach or connect with the people we’d love to work with.

01 Mar 2019#021 - Subtractive psychology: Are formless principles too 'woo-woo' for a corporate lawyer01:00:53

Are formless principles too 'woo-woo' for a corporate lawyer?

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, we’re going to be answering this question about subtractive psychology: are formless principles too 'woo-woo' for a corporate lawyer?

Here’s the back story.

You may recall that I conducted a 3-day Clarity 1:1 Coaching Intensive with a corporate lawyer named Andy, in front of a live audience of coaches, therapists and trainers.

A year later, I did a live follow-up interview with Andy in front of an audience, to find out how the experience changed his world and give people the chance to ask us BOTH questions.

There were some real surprises – for instance someone asked Andy whether he would have been prepared to pay full price for the intensive, knowing what he knows now (Andy paid £4,000 instead of the usual fee of £30,000, in return for letting an audience watch and listen as he went through the entire experience).

As you can imagine, I was waiting with baited breath to hear his answer in front of an audience of over 100 people!

I’ve decided to share the whole interview with you, because it’s so aligned with the purpose my team and I are working to.

As you may know, we believe the most valuable things a person can discover are how their mind works, and who they really are. Well, this interview demonstrates why they're so valuable– the immeasurable, practical, real-world benefits of learning just these two things, specifically.

And when I say learning, I mean realising them insightfully – not just as concepts, beliefs or ideas, but as bedrock facts that make a go-forward difference in your life.

These two facts (how your mind works and who you really are) are what Andy realised insightfully during his intensive, and what you’re going to hear is the difference those two discoveries have made in his work, and in his life as a whole.

In the interview he reports on the changes in:

- His sense of trust in himself and his decision-making
- His levels of relaxation
- His productivity
- His parenting and family life
- Starting his own coaching practice
- His deep-down knowing about whether he can handle anything that comes his way, including a company shakeup following the intensive, that took the team of nine senior executives down to just two people (one of which was Andy)

Here are some of the questions Andy gave answers to:

- How did how you operate in the world before VS after the intensive? What changed for you?

- How did things change around your career transition and your ability to take action and be productive?

- Knowing what you know now, would you have been prepared to pay the full price (£30,000) for your intensive?

- What was the biggest new belief that you gained about yourself in the intensive that you felt was most transformative? (Andy’s answer to this was particularly interesting, because of the ‘subtractive’ nature of this work)

- How did you go about building your coaching practice alongside your corporate lawyer role?

- What impact has the intensive have had on your relationships - for instance work colleagues, family etc?

- What do you think the difference would have been if you'd had regular coaching in hourly sessions rather than an intensive?

I was also asked some technical questions (E.g. do you ever do Intensives remotely? The answer is “yes”), as well as what I’d learned personally from the intensive, so it was great to share my insights from the session.

If you'd like to contact Andy to find out more about his coaching services, you can reach him on andyjsmith101 at gmail dot com or at his "Business Success Made Simple" Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/130424981156517/

28 Aug 2020#050 - DEEPDIVE: 1:1 Coaching Intensives Q&A00:52:48

The 1:1 intensives deep dive you’re about to hear is an excerpt from a Q&A Session I did with my ClarityPro Members. I was answering questions I’d been asked by ClarityPro Members and our wider community about 1:1 Coaching Intensives, where you spend up to 3 or 4 days working closely with a client to help them have the breakthroughs that matter to them.

1:1 Coaching Intensives are a bit of a dark art, so I thought it would be nice to shed a little light on the process, and I’m sharing this recording on both my podcasts for several reasons as follows:

Number 1, If you’ve been thinking about doing a 1:1 intensive with me, this will give you a sense of what to expect, and whether or not it’s a good fit for you. That’s why I’m sharing it on the Get Clarity Podcast.

Number 2, If you’ve been considering doing 1:1 intensives with your clients, this will answer some of the questions you may have had, and help you take the next step. That’s why I’m sharing it on the Thriving Coaches Podcast.

And number 3, A few years ago, I did a 1:1 coaching intensive with a corporate lawyer called Andy, but I did it in front of an audience of coaches and therapists, answering their questions and unpacking what I’m doing. We recorded the whole thing, and whether you want to do an intensive with me, or you want to do one with your own clients, it’s one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways of experiencing an intensive without paying 5000, 10,000 or 50,000 pounds (that’s what I charge for my CEO Intensive).

And we’ve got he 1:1 Coaching Intensive Unpacked in our summer sale at over 40% off until Monday August 31st, so if you’d like to find out more about that, head over to www.clarityacademy.co/intensive

If you want to do an intensive with me, head over to www.JamieSmart.com/ceo.

And finally, we’ve opened the doors to ClarityPro while our Summer Sale is on, so head over to www.ClarityAcademy.co to see if you want to join, and to see everything else that’s in the summer sale.

04 Jan 2022#059 - The 3 Principles at work: Louise O'Dalaigh01:06:12
I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. In this episode you’re going to be hearing something I’m very happy to share with you. It’s the recording of a conversation I had with Clarity Coach Louise O’Dalaigh at the last ClarityLive event a few months ago. Louise is trained as a nurse and has spent the last 30 years working in the healthcare field. Her current role is as a Quality Improvement Lead for an NHS organisation with over 10,000 staff. So it was a real treat to be able to have one of my ‘fireside chat’ conversations with her and find out the kind of difference the principles understanding is making in her life and in her organisation.

Just before we get to that, a bit of housekeeping. I’m working on the second edition of my book, CLARITY, and I had a realisation. I realised that just as the release of CLARITY planted a seed that grew into everything I’ve been doing for the past 10 years, I now want to create the space for the seeds I’ll be planting with the second edition.
So I’ve made a decision.
Between now and July 2022, I’m stopping all business activities except the delivery of the programmes that are already in the calendar for 2022.
I have the strong sense that there’s something new getting ready to emerge, and I want to create room for it.
This means that the Clarity Certification Training I do starting at the end of this month - January 2022 may be the last one I ever do (or at least the last one I do in its current form).
It seems to me that the world has never had a greater need for this understanding, and that conditions have never been better to share it as widely as possible. In fact, the technologies that are playing a part in creating this crisis may also have the capacity to play a part in its solution.
I don’t know what part I’m going to play in all of this.
What I do know is that I’m interested in exploring emerging technologies and new models to align communities as we take this understanding out into the world in a brand new form.
To the people who have been through (or are preparing to go through) Clarity Certification Training, you’re not just early adopters; you’re trailblazers, and I’m grateful to be on the journey with you.
In Syd Banks’ final talk, “The Ultimate Answer”, he says that when this gets out into the world, “literally, it will help millions of people.”
The more I’ve learned from Syd’s work, the more I’ve learned to take him literally. And I think it might just be time.
So, there are 11 places left on the Clarity Certification Training programme, and I’ve decided to really push the boat out, and added some extra bonuses including the chance to sit in on a live 1:1 coaching intensive. If you want to find out more, just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach that’s www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
11 Nov 2022#065 - INTERVIEW - Ian Watson - Trusting in the invisible00:50:46

I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. And in this session you’re going to hear a conversation I had recently with my dear friend and colleague, Ian Watson. Ian and I have been in each other’s lives for the past 20 years, and those years have included many twists and turns as we’ve encountered obstacles, followed our inner guidance and found our way forward (sometimes more easily than others). Some of the topics we explored included

- Following your bliss
- Trust in ‘the invisible’
- Being willing to take ‘the road less travelled’
- Doing what you love
- And much more

By the way, our next ClarityLive! event is next weekend (November 19-20) and the theme is in a similar domain: Purpose, Principles & Personal Expression: How to bring dream projects to life for yourself and others (even if you don’t know what they are yet).

We’re being joined by guest speakers including my dear friend and colleague, Cathy Casey. Cathy pioneered taking the principles into the California prison system and is a master of stepping into the unknown and bringing unique expression to life. We’re also being joined by another dear friend, Carl Harvey, founder of the Abundance Book Club and The Big Life show (he was also MindValley's head copywriter for a couple of years - Carl's a powerhouse). It’s all going to be happening via live-stream, and you can find out more at www.JamieSmart.com/ClarityLive

And you can find out more about Ian Watson and his work at www.TheInsightSpace.com

08 Oct 2021#056 - Liz Scott - The wisdom is already there00:51:54
I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. And in this episode you’re going to be hearing something I’m very excited to share with you. It’s a conversation I had with the director of a community interest company, a CIC, who’s been putting the whole domain of wellbeing on the map in her local community. And here’s why I’m so excited about it...

Last weekend, we had our ClarityLive event, and it really wonderful. We had people joining us from all over the world, and there was an incredible sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And the theme was 'Making your living from the inside out', so I wanted to spotlight people who are taking this understanding into the world in a variety of ways.

One of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with four Clarity Coaches who have been having a big impact in the world. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with coach and CIC director, Liz Scott.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the January 2022 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

Clarity Certification has recently been accredited by the International Coaching Federation (the ICF) as a provider of Continuous Coach Education, so if you’re already an ICF-certified coach, you can use the programme to earn CCE units. Either way, you can take part in CCT with full confidence that the programme is fully accredited by the ICF as a Continuous Coaching Education provider. By the way, the first 21 places are taken, so there are only 15 places remaining as I speak. And you can save up to £2000 when you book your place by the end of November. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach that’s www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
27 Sep 2019#029 - Mind-blowingly weird: the strangest fact about your perception00:11:56
What you’re about to hear is an excerpt from a Masterclass I did a few years back during the Clarity Certification Training. You’re about to discover something mind-blowingly weird: it’s quite literally the strangest fact about your perception, and it blows me away every time i think of it. And it’s going to be particularly useful to you if you’ve ever said, “I know it’s just my thinking but…” - I hear that a lot from people when it’s clear to me that they don’t know it’s got much if anything to do with thinking. You’re also going to find it useful if you want to know the difference between thoughts, thinking and the power of Thought.

By the way, our flagship programme, the Clarity Certification Training is now open for enrolment and you can save up to £3,000 by getting one of the Super-Earlybird places that are available until this Monday, 30th September. A few things worth knowing…

1. Clarity Certification Training is our flagship seven month programme for anyone interested in bringing an understanding of the principles behind Clarity into their life or work.

2. I’m going to be delivering all 7 modules on the Clarity Certification Training myself, so you’re going to be working directly with me.

3. We’re limiting the number of places on the programme to 36 people, so it’s going to fill up fast.

4. There’s an early booking price which means you can save up to £3,000 when you book your place by this Monday, 30th September 2019

>>> You can find out more and book your place at www.JamieSmart.com/coach

And if you have questions about the programme, you’ll find a button on the page that lets you schedule a call with Deb on my team to answer your questions. You’ll find all of that at www.JamieSmart.com/coach

02 Jul 2020#045 - Letting Your Passion Find You A Conversation with Author Anke Hermann00:23:00

In this episode, I speak with author, podcaster and coach, Anke Hermann. Anke is author of the book, “Taming the Technology Monster”, but her work with clients is as much to do with their thinking and their ideas about themselves as it is with their technology projects. In this brief conversation, she reveals how her passion for the work she does today was steadily tapping her on the shoulder while she looked somewhere else for work she loved doing. This conversation speaks to the wisdom that’s guiding every single one of us, once we know how to tune into it.

04 Jun 2020#041 - DEMO: Post-Lockdown: Getting unstuck & back in the game after a business collapse00:30:33
Welcome to the podcast. And in this episode you’re going to hear a coaching demo I did with a client who was completely stuck following a series of catastrophes.

First, she was hit with the deaths of both her parents within the space of a couple of years. Then her husband became seriously ill.

She told me that during this period, her work as a coach kept her going.

But then, the UK coronavirus lockdown kicked in, and her business collapsed overnight.

She said it was like a domino effect of ‘big things’ happening that’s left her feeling stuck and with no confidence. She said she felt like she had lead in her boots and was unable to move.

When I asked her what she wanted to have happen as a result of our session, she said...

“I want to become unstuck. I want to go back to being me.”

Just before I introduce that session, I wanted to let you know that the 2021 Intake of our flagship programme, the Clarity Certification Training is now open for enrolment and you can save up to £3,000 when you register by Friday 26th June. A few things worth knowing…

1. Clarity Certification Training is our flagship seven month programme for anyone interested in bringing an understanding of the principles behind clarity into their life or work.

2. I’m going to be delivering all 7 modules on the Clarity Certification Training myself, so you’re going to be working closely with me.

3. We’re limiting the number of places on the programme to 36 people, and....

4. You can save up to £3,000 when you book your place by Friday, 26th June, 2020.

>>> You can find out more and book your place at www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the coaching demo. I did this session in front of an audience of clients on my 12-week Coaching Immersion programme.  The client’s name is Cecilia, and as you’ll hear, I move between coaching Cecilia and speaking to the audience. The main coaching session is in the first 26 minutes of the podcast. Then in the last minute or two of the podcast, you’ll hear me circle back and check in with Cecilia - this was actually an hour later (I was coaching some other members of the group in the meantime). So here’s the coaching demo.
24 Jun 2019#025 - DEMO: Parenting with the principles: How to help a suffering child00:12:44
This episode features a coaching demo I did with Clarity Coach Trevor Hartwick. And here’s one of the interesting things about it: We did the demo at the end of a virtual session where we only had 7 minutes left. What you’re going to hear is just how quickly it’s possible for someone to experience a profound shift when you’re working with an understanding of the principles behind clarity.

Trevor and his wife are new parents, with a two-month old baby. Trevor’s loving being a father, but sometimes, when the baby won’t stop crying, he feels powerless. Trevor said it breaks his heart to see his child upset and not be able to make him happy.

And of course, whether you’re a parent or not, you can probably relate to Trevor, because we’ve all had the experience of seeing someone we care about suffering, and feeling powerless to do anything about it.

As you’ll hear, what Trevor realised is that one of the biggest gifts he can give his son can *only* be given in those moments where there’s nothing he can do to make him happy.

At the end of the session, we take a pause, then you’ll hear me circle back to check in with Trevor.

By the way, the Clarity Certification Training for coaches, practitioners and professionals is formally open for registration. We’ve had people from all walks of life go through the programme including computer programmers, doctors, call centre workers, lawyers, parents, PR specialists, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches, consultants, trainers and even a professional footballer. The programme starts in January 2020, and we’re only accepting 36 applicants this time, so if you want to find out how to become a Clarity Coach, and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life, go to https://www.jamiesmart.com/coach
27 Dec 2024#79 - DEMO: Your Gifts Are Needed: overcoming the fear of sharing your work00:25:00

This week, I’m sharing a powerful coaching demo from one of my group sessions that explores a challenge so many of us face: bringing our work into the world.

In this clip, Tracey—a coach and author—shares her struggle with launching her book.

Despite having written it, she feels stuck, held back by doubts like “Does the world need another book?” and fears about what might happen once it’s out there.

What unfolded during our conversation reveals something essential for anyone wanting to share their gifts with the world:

  • The connection between our fears and the very gifts we’re called to share.
  • What to align with so you can unlock the energy to move forward.

I also share one of my favorite poems that captures the essence of why your work matters.

If you’ve ever hesitated to put yourself out there, I think you’ll find this episode relatable—and inspiring.

I hope this demo reminds you that the world does need your gifts - and you have everything you need to share them.

07 Feb 2018RMP 035: Mahima Shrestha - Real World Realisations00:19:12

This episode is an interview I did with Mahima Shrestha during a module of the Clarity Coach Training Programme. The previous day, one of the students had asked, "This stuff is all well and good, but how do these principles work in the case of 'real stuff'". Mahima was able to give a personal account of exactly that, as she had a huge insight when she was caught in the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Mahima is a crisis management consultant who’s passionate about bringing people together, finding solutions to complex problems and facilitating long-term change in culture and communities. And one of the interesting things about Mahima is that she’s got a background in journalism and PR.

06 Dec 2024#76 - Troubleshooting Enlightenment00:42:02

When the event hosts asked me to deliver the final keynote speech at this year’s Viva Event, I asked them what gift they’d love the participants to walk away from the conference with.

Their answer inspired the title of my talk: Troubleshooting Enlightenment - How to Keep the Feeling Alive When You’re Back in the Real World.

During the talk, I shared:

  • What gets in the way of that feeling staying with you,
  • How to 'reconnect' to the principles, even in the midst of life’s challenges,
  • Practical insights to help you keep showing up with clarity and ease, and
  • Insights for those looking to share the 3Ps professionally.

So I invite you to ask *yourself* this question if you've ever wondered where the feeling goes:

Q: How do you keep ‘the beautiful feeling’ alive when you're back in the real world?

This is exactly what today’s episode is all about, featuring the full recording of my keynote.

When I listened to the recording myself, I picked up on the Viva vibe of fun and playfulness throughout the episode.

As well as being really enjoyable (if I say so myself) I heard from multiple people that they came away from the session with a quiet mind and new, fresh insights on the principles and what they make possible.

There's something else you'll find relevant if you're a coach or therapist:

During the talk, I asked who had asked themselves these questions:

Why doesn't everyone know this?

That's the question I hear most often from people when they first catch a glimpse of the principles, followed by...

How can I get this out there?

It was almost everyone in the audience (around 200 people).

So, during my talk, I shared some of the distinctions and 'mindsets' that can make you unusually good at having a transformational impact with this understanding and experiencing more of the feeling in your own life.

Because as Sydney Banks said:

“The more you help others, the more you help yourself. Believe me, that’s really true. The more you help others, the better the feeling you will get.”

Delivering this speech made me realize how much more we can do to bring these insights into practical, transformative action for ourselves and the world.

My team and I are already moving in this direction—more to come soon.

23 Feb 2023#068 - INTERVIEW: Dr. Bill Pettit - One Cause & One Cure01:52:35

Bill is a board-certified psychiatrist and has been working with patients & clients using the principles understanding for over 40 years. Dr Pettit has treated tens of thousands of patients, with diagnoses as diverse as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, panic attacks and many more conditions. Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the September 2023 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

02 Nov 2019#030 - Dr Rita Shuford: Happiness, wellbeing and 40 years of sharing the principles01:01:16
In this episode, you’re going to hear a conversation I had on the subject of happiness and wellbeing with one of my dear friends and colleagues, Rita Shuford. And here’s how I met Rita...

In 2011, I kicked off a one-year programme called '3 Principles University'.

We had a wonderful group of students, and every month or so, we had a different principles teacher spend the weekend with us, sharing their understanding.

My good friend and colleague, Sandy Krot was scheduled to do the November weekend (on Leadership), and when she arrived, she had a friend with her: Rita Shuford.

Rita was the person who'd introduced Sandy to the principles, so I was super-curious to hear her story.

I recorded an interview with her that weekend, and we've been friends ever since.

Rita's one of the people who's mentored me over the years, and she's also mentored some of my students on Clarity programmes.

Last week, I was recording a session with Rita for ClarityPro (on working with clients around happiness and wellbeing) and she agreed to record an interview for the podcast.

Rita's been sharing the principles with clients for over 40 years, and she has a wealth of knowledge, experience and insight, so I'm really delighted to be able to share our conversation with you.

By the way,  if you want to get access to the members-only session I did with Rita on working with clients around happiness & wellbeing, you get access to that and all the other members-only content when you join the ClarityPro Membership programme. If you want to share the principles like a pro with anybody, on any topic on any situation, head over to jamiesmart.com/claritypro to find out more.
17 Jan 2019#019 - Jamie Smart - The Unashamedly Human Interview00:44:06

Jacquie Forde interviews Jamie Smart for her Unashamedly Human podcast.

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, you’re going to hear a conversation I had with an old friend of mine, Jacquie Forde, but it was a conversation with a difference. Jacquie was interviewing me for her podcast, Unashamedly Human, and we had a really open and honest conversation. So I thought you might like to hear what it’s like when I’m sitting on the other side of the microphone.

By the way, in the next couple of weeks I’m going to be sharing some of my plans for the year ahead. You may have heard me mention that we’ve been refocusing our vision and mission, so I’m looking forward to sharing how that’s taking shape. We’ve got some very cool brand new stuff planned for 2019 so if you don’t already receive my newsletter, head over to https://www.jamiesmart.com to get on the list.

12 Sep 2018#011 - A Clear Mind Produces Results00:29:20

This week’s episode is a re-release of one of the interviews I did to coincide with the release of my Sunday Times best-selling book - Results.

The interview is with Ian Selby - a company director who did a 3 day 1 to 1 coaching intensive with me (and later joined me on Clarity Coach Training).

The reason that Ian was featured in my book Results was because our 1 to 1 intensive gave rise to what I call the Clarity Equation;

Clarity = Capacity - Contamination

An equation for understanding how the principles behind Clarity play out in every aspect of your life.

This episode is sponsored by the certified Clarity Coach Training programme, a 10-month immersion into the principles behind clarity. The programme is formally open for registration and it’s not just for coaches, we’ve had all sorts of people go through the programme including computer programmers, doctors, call centre workers, layers, parents PR specialists, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches and consultants and trainers and even a professional footballer and if you’re interested it’s worth knowing that we’re not running the programme next year so the intake that’s starting this September (2018) is the last chance you’ll get to join us until 2020 at the very earliest. So if you want to find out how to become a Clarity Coach and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life go to jamiesmart.com/coach

04 Jul 2018#005 - Public Speaking - How to Share the Principles with Any Audience00:36:40

In this episode you're going to hear an excerpt from the most recent Clarity Coach Training programme where several students were in situations where they wanted to share the principles behind Clarity with an audience, but they didn't understand how it was practical (or even possible) to do so. The subjects they were due to be talking about were “gut health”, “business strategy” and “exam results”.

The principles behind clarity are present in every human experience so, as you'll hear, it turns out to be quite a bit simpler than you might expect.

By the way, the certified Clarity Coach Training programme is going to be formally opening for registration in the next couple of weeks, so If you'd like to find out more about the programme and see what's involved in becoming a Clarity Coach go to JamieSMart.com/coach

We've had people from all walks of life go through the programme including computer programmers, doctors, call centre workers, lawyers, parents, PR specialists, therapists, office workers, entrepreneurs, surgeons, people who are already coaches, consultants, trainers and even a professional footballer.

17 Jun 2020#043 - Christine Mitchell The Power of Hope and Certainty00:38:07
In this episode of the Get Clarity podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of our most popular episodes, a conversation I had with a good friend and colleague, Clarity Coach Christine Mitchell. Christine works with people who arrive with a variety of challenges and objectives, particularly around anxiety, stress and OCD. And one of the interesting things about Christine is she’s working more and more with nurses and first-responders.

And here’s one of the reasons I’m really excited to be sharing this conversation with you. As you may already know, at our company, we’re passionate about what we call subtractive psychology: the only thing you can learn that takes things off your mind automatically and uncovers your true potential.

It works on the basis that human psychology functions perfectly; that every person is born with innate resilience, clarity, natural motivation, the capacity to enjoy life, and navigate its ups and downs with ease.

So what does that actually mean, in rough going?

What it means is that there’s something very simple a person can discover for themselves that makes the difference between stress and freedom, between a lifetime of mental health challenges, and complete recovery.

And in this interview, you’re going to hear about an extraordinary example of how that happened for Christine and her family.

As you may know, we believe the most valuable things a person can discover is how your mind works and who you really are, because this realisation sets you free.

And once you know the truth about this, your very *presence* can set others free.

Christine saw the truth of this so clearly that those around her saw it too.  Two of her closest family members recovered spontaneously from lifelong depression and OCD after a single conversation.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the January 2021 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme. And you can save up to £3000 when you book your place by June 26th 2020. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach that’s www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode. You’re about to hear Christine share in her own words what she realised, how she shared it with her loved ones, and the dramatic difference it made to them. She also talks about the differences it’s making with her other clients.

Christine didn’t have years of training or the so-called “right way” of talking about it,  she had two things: certainty and the willingness to share what she’d seen so far, that:

– Clarity, resilience & wellbeing are pre-existing capacities rather than things to be achieved
– People aren’t broken and they don’t need fixing

And this episode was first aired back in 2017, but I’m re-publishing it because I want it to be heard by so many people who missed it the first time around. So sit back, relax and prepare to discover just what a difference it’s possible to make when you’re sharing what you’ve seen for yourself. Here’s the episode…

28 Mar 2023#070 - INTERVIEW: Coaching in the Midst of Crisis with Mahima Shrestha00:34:28
Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. I’ve called this episode, “Coaching in the Midst of Crisis”, and it’s a recording from the Clarity Coaching Experience event we held earlier this month. The theme for the event was “Increasing your Impact Certainty” and it was a beautiful weekend. We had coaches joining us from all around the world, and there was a lovely sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with Clarity Coaches who are making a big difference in the world, and I picked their brains about their impact with their clients, and how this understanding has helped them increase that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with my dear friend and colleague, Mahima Shrestha. Now, you may have seen an amazing conversation I had with Mahima a few years ago when I interviewed her about her experience of the 2015 Nepal earthquake. That was right at the start of her journey as a coach, and since then, she’s developed extensive experience in coaching individuals and organizations through crisis. Mahima works with entrepreneurs, innovators, activists, and changemakers- bringing bright people together to solve complex problems. And you’re going to hear how her certainty about what people have going for them is fundamental to the difference she makes with clients.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the September 2023 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

And you can save over £4000 when you book your place by the end of March. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
03 Oct 2018#013 - KEYNOTE - The Search Is Over (Except When It Isn't)01:27:13

In this episode we are doing something a little different. This past Sunday (Sep 30th) was international Podcast Day and so to celebrate it we are re-releasing the most popular episode of any of our podcasts.

The original episode went out on the Results Mindset Podcast a year ago and it's a keynote that I did at the unlimited conference in Finland called 'The Search is Over (except when it isn't)... by far our most listened to show.

Enjoy!

19 May 2020#040 - INTERVIEW: A conversation with Billy Mann00:50:06

In this episode, you’re going to hear me being interviewed by Billy Mann. In fact, it’s a conversation as much as it is an interview. Billy is a coach, and entrepreneur and an absolutely lovely human being. And one of the things that’s interesting about Billy is that he’s been deeply impacted by the single paradigm as articulated by Keith Blevens and Valda Monroe, so that’s one of the areas we explore in this episode.

About Billy Mann
Billy Mann is a Father, Husband, Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Coach, Blogger, Soon to be Author and All-Round lover of life.

Billy has spent all of his life in business in one form or another. He literally grew up in his family business (we lived over it) and has worked serving people in one form or another as far back as he can remember. People have always been his passion.

As life has it, it took a life changing event to see something new and he has spent the last 10 years dedicated to understanding what it really means to enjoy our lives, creating what it is that reflects our joy.

Now, along with running a very successful salon with very happy staff (it's a really joyful place to work for us all) to helping others to find that sweet spot inside, he's busily creating a coaching business to help business owners discover what it means to really live and love their business and their staff.

Having spent 27 years employing people both as a freaked out, stressed out boss to having a more productive and profitable business taught him that people always come first and a great relationship with staff builds a great business...

Being a great boss isn't as tough as it may seem.

If you want to connect with him, you'll find him on Facebook and Instagram and you can DM him or email him at billymanncoaching@gmail.com

03 Jan 2025#80 - COACHING DEMO: The Fact of Connection What Truly Gets In the Way00:21:35

I hope the new year is off to a wonderful start for you.

This week, I’m sharing a coaching demo where Roberto opens up about a challenge many of us face: feeling disconnected in relationships and life.

In this session, we explored:

  • Why the experience of connection comes and goes
  • What you can rely on that’s deeper and *always* present
  • How resisting the feeling of disconnection can actually give it power
  • The surprising insight that shifted Roberto’s perspective—and might shift yours, too

If you’ve ever felt “out of connection” and judged yourself for it, this clip is a powerful reminder that both connection and disconnection are valuable signals.

08 Feb 2017RMP 010: Jørgen Rasmussen - Provocative Hypnosis Meets The Principles Behind Clarity 201701:52:20

This episode is a little different from the usual structure. It is a recording of a conversation I've had with Jørgen Rasmussen. Jørgen is the creator of Provocative Hypnosis, and is the author of the book of the same name, and the book Provocative Suggestions. He's created waves in the with his “no holds barred” interventions, and has spent the last 13 years seeing clients full time. And one of the interesting things about Jørgen is that he describes himself as a “contrarian change artist”. This is the 3rd of these conversations we've had over the past few years, so I may release the earlier ones at a later date.

30 Apr 2024#071 - COACHING DEMO: Limiting Beliefs, Weight Loss & Vibrant Health00:31:49
Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. This episode is a coaching demo I did with Clarity Coach Jan Harte around weight loss and limiting beliefs. The demo itself took place during my Clarity Advanced Coach & Facilitator Programme, and only lasted 20 minutes, but it’s followed by a 4-minute follow-up I did with Jan a year later (just a few weeks ago). As you’ll hear, the impact of the coaching session was profoundly transformational.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that on Friday May 10th, I’m getting together with a group of coaches to look at the fundamentals of belief-change, so you can increase your impact-confidence, dissolve limiting beliefs & transform lives (including your own). Here’s what we’re going to be exploring together:

  • You’re going to learn the fundamentals of working with limiting beliefs, so you’re standing on solid ground as you discern what’s really going on for your client.

  • As a result, you’ll be able to increase your impact-confidence and make a bigger difference (it’s a lot easier to help someone when you understand the landscape.)
  • As a lovely side-effect, you’ll start seeing through your *own* limiting beliefs so you can create the results that truly matter to you as well as your clients.
  • You’re going to be getting a felt sense of the nature of true identity (this is crucial, because this is one of the main ‘leverage points’ you have to share with your clients).
  • You’ll also be learning the linguistic and sensory structure of limiting beliefs (language is a doorway into your client’s world, so I’ll be showing you specific questions you can ask to uncover what’s been holding them back until now).
  • You’ll be learning about the paradoxical nature of double-binds, and why most coaches innocently end up reinforcing the bind, rather than dissolving it (true story!)
  • You’ll learn how to point people to their true identity and their innate capacity for realisation, the keystone for truly transformational impact. People regularly cry tears of relief when you help them see through their perceived limitations, and wake up to the truth of who they really are.

While this one-day workshop will be suitable for coaches and therapists of all skill and experience-levels, it’s going to be of particular interest to experienced coaches who are looking to take their impact to a new level.

There will be several belief-change demonstrations, and everyone will have the opportunity to shift their own most pernicious beliefs. As I mentioned, it’s on Friday May 10th via Zoom, and there’s an earlybird price when you book your place by this Thursday May 2nd. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/belief to learn more and register now. That’s www.JamieSmart.com/belief

So now to the coaching demo and one-year followup..
27 Jan 2022#063 - Living a Beautiful Life with Jan and Chip Chipman01:33:31
Welcome to the podcast. I’m delighted to present this episode, “Living a Beautiful Life” with Jan and Chip Chipman. The theme for the ClarityLive conference it was recorded at was “How to make 2022 your most beautiful year yet” and it was really lovely. We had people joining us from all around the world, and there was a great sense of community, with lots of profound realisations.

And one of the highlights of the weekend was my session with my dear friends, mentors, colleagues and collaborators, Jan and Chip Chipman. Jan, Chip and I met nearly 13 years ago and have been friends ever since. We’ve run retreats together in the Canary Islands and mainland Spain. They spent years being mentored by Sydney Banks, and one of the things you’re going to love about this conversation is the feeling they bring. Chip also tells me favourite Syd Banks story in this session, so I hope you enjoy that too.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are about to close for the final intake of  our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme. I say ‘final’ because as you may have heard, I’ve decided to stop all business activities except for delivering programmes that I already have in the calendar for 2022. And I’m doing this so I have the time to write the second edition of my book CLARITY, and to create the space for what’s going to come next. You know, when I first came to the principles, it was relatively unknown, and very few people knew how to share this understanding with others. And it was clear to me that we needed a cadre of highly-skilled coaches, trainers and change-workers who could share this understanding and have a big impact with their clients.

Ten years on, and we’ve trained over 300 Clarity Coaches and I couldn’t be more delighted. We now have that cadre of highly-skilled people with a deep understanding in place. Now it’s time to get these principles out into the world in a bigger way, and I need the space to do that, so…

This is the last time I’m going to be delivering Clarity Certification Training. 30 of the 36 places are now taken, so there are 6 places left as I speak. And I’m really looking for leaders who want to take this understanding out into the world at a time when there’s never been a greater need for it. And for the first time ever, I’ve added a massive bonus package worth over £13,000, including the chance to sit in on a 3-day coaching intensive with a corporate client, later this year.

And Jan and Chip Chipman are two of the teachers who do Masterclasses on the CCT programme, as well as mentoring our Advanced Clarity Coaches.

So if you want to join me for the last ever Clarity Certification Training, go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
07 Mar 2019#022 - Christine Mitchell The Power of Hope and Certainty00:39:18

A conversation with a good friend and Clarity Coach Christine Mitchell.

In this episode of the Get Clarity podcast, you’re going to be hearing a conversation I had with a good friend and colleague, Clarity Coach Christine Mitchell.

You see, when you discover the truth about how your mind works and who you really are, it sets you free.

And once you know the truth about this, your very *presence* can set others free.

Christine saw the truth of this so clearly that those around her saw it too.  Two of her closest family members recovered spontaneously from lifelong depression and OCD after a single conversation.

Here she shares in her own words what she realised, how she shared it with her loved ones, and the dramatic difference it made to them. She also talks about the differences it’s making with her other clients.

Christine didn’t have years of training or the so-called “right way” of talking about it,  she had two things: certainty and the willingness to share what she’d seen so far, that:

- Clarity, resilience & wellbeing are pre-existing capacities rather than things to be achieved
- People aren’t broken and they don’t need fixing

And this episode was first aired back in 2017, but I’m re-publishing it because I want it to be heard by so many people who missed it the first time around. So sit back, relax and prepare to discover just what a difference it’s possible to make when you’re sharing what you’ve seen for yourself.

15 Feb 2019#020 - KEYNOTE: Clarity, Resilience and Doing What You Love01:03:49

A keynote I did at the Popup Business School in Westminster.

In November of 2018, I was invited to speak to 100 students at the PopUp Business School in Westminster, London.

The founders of Popup created it as a response to traditional startup advice, because they felt that stuff was completely inaccessible to some of the people they wanted to inspire...

- Unemployed people
- People doing jobs they hated
- People who were trapped in the benefit system
- People who were struggling with addiction, mental health and other issues

Basically, people who were traditionally excluded from the kind of support that helps when you're starting up. Not only that, but they’re people who often don’t get to experience the kind of work I do.

They run their programmes in partnership with Housing Associations and Local Authorities, to help their constituents get a handle on their financial situations by creating their own income streams.

Popup help people start their own business, fast!

I was talking with one of the founders, Simon Paine, (Simon was personally impacted after reading my books and listening to this podcast, and we’ve ended up becoming friends), so we were having lunch and I asked him this question:

"What's the number one thing that stops people taking action and creating the business they want to?"

He thought about it, then he said "It's the psychological stuff"; confidence, motivation, resilience.

- Believing they were broken - that past experiences had damaged them

- Thinking that they couldn't change - that their lives couldn't transform

- Feeling like they lacked the qualities they would need to deal with the ups and downs of doing their own thing

When he asked if I could do a talk to help his students with that stuff, I instantly said "YES".

You see, my team and I believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is how their mind works and who they really are.

We want to share this far and wide and reach people in every walk of life.

We want to inspire and educate a generation about what they've got going for them, so this means reaching the kinds of people who would rarely get the chance to hear about this sort of thing, in fact one of the audiences we want to be reaching is the very people that popup business school are working with.

As you can imagine, I was really excited to see how the simple message of the principles behind clarity landed with the Popup audience.

It was a big experiment for me AND for Popup.

So in this recording, you’re going to hear what happened when I shared this understanding with a group of people who were hearing about it for the first time. Enjoy!

06 Nov 2024#073 - Jeff Booth – Freedom, Tech & Spirituality in Business01:09:59
Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. As you may know, I've long been fascinated with exponential technology and its impact on us and our world. With that in mind, I've decided that in this season of the 'Get Clarity' podcast, I'm going to be having conversations with people who can share insights to help us navigate this rapidly changing landscape from a psychological and spiritual perspective.

My first guest is Jeff Booth, a friend whose work I've been exploring for several years. Jeff is a bestselling author, tech entrepreneur and a very deep thinker. He's one of the founding partners of "Ego Death Capital", a fund for investing in technology startups, and Jeff coaches and mentors the tech entrepreneurs and teams the fund invests in.

And here's the thing that had me realise he'll be a great guest for the podcast.

I was reading his superb book, "The Price of Tomorrow", and many of the things he said let me know that Jeff understands something worth knowing about who we really are. Then, as I listened to some of his interviews, I realised he has a very practical understanding of "how life works" that I'd love to explore more deeply with him, and to share with you.

One thing: I had to listen to Jeff share his perspective a number of times before I really *got* what he’s pointing to, so this may be one you want to come back to again and again.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the January 2025 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.

07 Mar 2025#88 - Transforming Setbacks into Success00:58:07

My friend Jonathan Armes at Capital Shift invited me to have a conversation exploring the topic of “Transforming Setbacks into Success” and he’s given me permission to share the full recording with you.

We took a deep dive into something that affects us all: how we deal with setbacks in life and work, and what changes when we really understand how our mind works.

So whether you're facing a challenge right now or want to support someone who is (friend, client, colleague or loved one), this was created with you in mind.

Here’s some of what we covered:

- Why obstacles are often just stepping stones—raw material for your transformation.

- Why insight beats positive thinking every time (real breakthroughs come from fresh perspectives, not just pushing harder).

- How to break free from victimhood, remember who you really are, and move through setbacks with more freedom and flow.

Tons of love,

Jamie

19 Mar 2019#023 - Clarity Case Study: The Principles of Clarity at Work in the NHS00:37:17

A simple solution to stress, pressure and burnout in the NHS.

this episode is one we’ve been trying to organise for a while, because it’s with Louise O’Dalaigh, a woman who’s been working to introduce the principles behind clarity into he National Health Service (NHS).

As you may know, the issue of stress and burnout is pretty much an epidemic in the world of healthcare, so it’s one of the places where subtractive psychology has so much to offer. Why? Because in a domain where people are insanely busy, and have crucial, life and death decisions to make,  subtractive psychology is the only thing you can learn that takes things off your mind automatically and uncovers your true potential.

Louise went into the NHS because she’s passionate about helping people and caring for others. She started out as a nurse, and rose through the ranks to become a senior manager leading services.

In the process, she experienced a huge amount of stress and pressure, to the point where she was really struggling at work. Her doctor had put her on anti-depressant medication and even advised her to find a different career.

That looked like a last resort to her, so she started exploring the principles behind clarity. During the first workshop she attended, she had an insight into where her experience was coming from, and who she really is.

She suddenly realised that no matter what happened, she’d be OK; that she could never be a victim of circumstance, and there was nothing she couldn’t handle.

Within weeks, she was off medication, and living with a knowledge of her innate resilience and wellbeing that is with her to this day.

Once she saw the power of this understanding for herself, it was a no-brainer to see how it could benefit her colleagues. And you may be able to relate to this. Have you had a realisation into some aspect of these principles, then wondered “Why doesn’t everyone know this?” or “How can I get this out there?”

That’s what happened to me when I first saw this, and it’s also what Louise experienced.

Of course, knowing these principles can make a huge difference is one thing, but it’s quite another thing to answer the question, “How do you share this understanding with the people in your workplace? How do you share it with your colleagues? With your friends? With your loved ones?”

Louise is a mum to four children, so you can imagine how important this last one is to her.

In this episode, you’re going to hear how Louise is answering that question, and is now sharing this understanding with senior health professionals from all around the world.

You may also get your own insights and realisations about how to ‘get these principles out there’, and share them with the people who matter to you.

12 Oct 2021#057 - Certainty about the impact you can have00:51:03
I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. And in this episode you’re going to be hearing something I’m really pleased to share with you. It’s a conversation I had with transformative coach David Bird, and here’s one of the things I think you’re going to find particularly interesting. The thing that motivated Birdey to explore the principles was this: he was already working as a hypnotherapist and coach, and he started attracting clients who he didn’t actually know whether or not he could help. He wanted to find a way to have more certainty about the impact he could have with his clients.

At or recent ClarityLive event, we had people joining us from all over the world, and there was an incredible sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And the theme was 'Making your living from the inside out', so I wanted to spotlight people who are taking this understanding into the world in a variety of ways.

I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with four Clarity Coaches who have been having a big impact in the world. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing my conversation with, David Bird.

And you can save up to £2000 when you book your place by the end of November. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach that’s www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
26 Jul 2017RMP 022: Cheryl Bond - How To Make Good Decisions00:33:05

Cheryl Bond is an executive coach, trainer and facilitator. She's been working in the field of training and development for over 20 years, and one of the interesting things about Cheryl is that she uses her understanding of the inside-out nature of life as the foundation of what she does in businesses.

19 Dec 2018#018 - Your True Identity01:01:10

In this episode of the get clarity podcast, you’re going to hear a conversation I had with two of my dearest friends, colleagues and mentors – these are people who’ve had a profound impact on my work and in my life, so I’m really excited to share them with you. And a few pieces of housekeeping before we start:

First of all, this is the final podcast before we pause for the holidays, so I just want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a happy, peaceful and restful time over the next few weeks. I know for a lot of people, this can be quite a challenging time of the year, so it can be worth remembering to take it easy on yourself and the on people you care about. A little kindness goes a long way, so I encourage to start by being kind to yourself. At Clarity HQ, our vision is to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing, and we believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is how their mind works, so they can remember who they really are. So in relation to that, we’ve got some very cool brand new stuff planned for 2019, so I’ll be telling you all about that in the weeks and months ahead.

Meanwhile, I’m delighted to announce two things:

Number 1 – We’ve now confirmed dates for the Clarity Coach Training programme that’s happening starting in January 2020, a little over a year from now. We’re going to be doing a formal launch of this in a few months’ time, however… if you already know that you want to be part of the 2020 programme, you can head over to JamieSmart.com/coach to find out all about it, complete an application form or hit the ‘find out more’ button to… find out more, and that’ll also let you book a conversation with a member of my team if you’d rather talk to someone about it. And if you book your place before the end of January, you can get it at the 2018 price, so once again, head over to JamieSmart.com/coach if you already know you want to join us in 2020.

Secondly, the conversation you’re about to hear is with Jan and Chip Chipman, and I’ll introduce them both at the start of that, but one of the things worth knowing is that Jan, Chip and I do a retreat each May in the Canary Islands, and it’s one of the highlights of my year, so if you like the idea of spending a week with a small group of people diving deep into an exploration of your true self, head over to jamiesmart.com/retreat to find out more.

And that brings us to this episode. What you’re about to hear is a conversation I had with Jan and Chip last year as we gave people a taste of what we’re most passionate about sharing with our clients. As I already mentioned, my team and I believe the most valuable thing a person can discover is how their mind works, so they can remember who they really are. And Jan and Chip have been pivotal in waking me up to MY true identity, and helping me to do the same for others, so this episode is going to be one you can listen to again and again. Here you go!

27 Nov 2019#032 - KEYNOTE - NLP & Hypnosis meet the principles01:37:29
What you’re about to hear is the recording of a talk I did in September at the Richmond NLP group called ‘The Principles Behind Transformational Change’.

I was booked to speak at the Richmond NLP group, and lots of people were curious about how the principles behind clarity would go down with an audience steeped in NLP & Hypnosis, so I promised to record the talk for this podcast.

My idea for the talk came from a simple question that’s at the heart of our field:

“What does it take to create the kind of life-altering transformations that make a profound, meaningful and lasting difference in a person's life?”

Well, I realised while I was driving to this session that the very *first* public talk I’d ever given was to the Richmond NLP group 20 years ago. It was pretty mind-blowing to reflect on how much things have changed in that time. If you enjoy listening to the recording even half as much as I enjoyed giving the talk, you're in for a treat. So here it is…
20 Jan 2022#062 - Burning It All Down with Charlie Madison00:47:00

I’m really happy to share this episode with you, with the unusual title of ‘Burning It All Down’, because it’s a recording from the ClarityLive! event we held earlier this month. The theme for the event was “How to make 2022 your most beautiful year yet” and it was really lovely. We had people joining us from all around the world, and there was a great sense of community, with lots of profound realisations. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with Certified Clarity Coaches who’ve been having a big impact in the world, and I picked their brains about what it means to live a beautiful life, and how this understanding has helped them do exactly that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over a coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with business owner & entrepreneur Charlie Madison.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the final intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme. I say ‘final’ because as you may have heard, I’ve decided to stop all business activities except for delivering programmes that I already have on the calendar. And I’m doing this so I have the time to write the second edition of my book CLARITY and to create the space for what’s going to come next.

We have that cadre of highly-skilled people with a deep understanding in place. Now it’s time to get these principles out into the world in a bigger way, and I need the space to do that, so…

This is the last time I’m going to be delivering Clarity Certification Training. 26 of the 36 places are now taken, so there are 10 places left as I speak. And I’m really looking for leaders who want to take this understanding out into the world at a time when there’s never been a greater need for it. And for the first time ever, I’ve added a massive bonus package worth over £13,000, including the chance to sit in on a 3-day coaching intensive with a corporate client, later this year.

And we have an EarlyBird price so you can save up to £1,500 when you book your place by Monday, January 24th. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach to learn more.

And Clarity Certification Training is the programme Charlie did a couple of years ago when he was earlier in his journey. So now to the episode.

03 Sep 2020#051 - Goat rodeos, warlord entrepreneurs & the future of money with Vinay Gupta - Get Clarity Podcast01:57:10

During a recent podcast episode, I mentioned that while climate change is one of the threats facing humanity, there are many others, including artificial intelligence, exponential technology, authoritarianism, pandemics, nuclear winter and many more. This week’s episode is another in this series of ‘public service announcement’ conversations, this time with one of my favourite twitter-follows, Vinay Gupta.

Here’s the back story. Last year, I heard a podcast episode with a chap called Vinay Gupta and started following him on twitter (his handle is @leashless).

He's proved to be one of my more fascinating follows, and has a unique perspective on a number of things (including the environment / climate change, the future of money, modern-day slavery, the rise of warlord entrepreneurs and more).

Just to provide some bona fides, Vinay helped organise the launch of the crypto-currency Ethereum a few years back, is the designer of Dubai's national blockchain strategy and is the inventor of the hexayurts you may have used / seen if you've ever been to the Burning Man festival.

Among other things, he's introduced me to the idea of 'goat rodeos' (an explanation of why certain national-level problems prove resistant to resolution, and what you can do about it).

So I reached out to him and said this:

"I find your perspective on the whole 'welcome to the world of the people who grow your coffee' overlap with racism / modern slavery / environment / meditation and fairness super-important. Would you be up for being interviewed on my podcast? (It’s called the Get Clarity Podcast). It only has a few thousand listeners but they’re mostly people who want to make a difference in the world."

He said, "Yes", and what you’re about to hear is the conversation that followed.

06 Apr 2020#037 - Are love, peace and resilience really innate? Where’s the evidence?00:11:37
This episode is a 10-minute clip taken from the first module of this year’s Clarity Certification Training. I’d been exploring the notion of ‘true identity’ with the members of the group, when I was asked this question:

“True identity is consciousness itself; I’m very happy with that. The question is, when we move beyond that, into defining that consciousness as having characteristics (such as stillness, love, resilience, truth, calm), where’s the evidence of that?"

Basically, where’s the evidence that these qualities are innate?

My answer both surprised and resonated with people.

 Here’s the episode.

24 Jan 2025#83 - Vision, Purpose, and Goals: What Does Life Want You to Bring Into Being?00:08:34

This week, I’m sharing a reflection on a topic that’s fascinated me for a long time: vision, purpose, and the question of goals.

Once we come into contact with the principles understanding, many of us discover that happiness isn’t tied to achieving goals, and this realization can be incredibly freeing.

But sometimes, we risk throwing the baby out with the bathwater, thinking that if life doesn’t need to look a certain way for us to be okay, then goals don’t matter at all.

It turns out that (as with most things) there are subtleties at play here. In this session, I explore:

  • Why your dreams, heart’s desires, and creative impulses are a vital expression of life itself.

  • How honoring your purpose and collaborating with life can lead to clarity and direction in surprising ways.

  • A recent breakthrough my team and I had when we reconnected with the wisdom and intelligence within us—and how it’s shaping our work.

It turns out that when it comes to the goals that are deeply aligned with who you most truly are and what you’re most inspired to create, there’s a perspective that can be profoundly helpful. That’s what we explore here:

I hope it sparks fresh insights into how you approach your own vision, purpose, and goals.

Tons of love,

Jamie

09 Dec 2019#033 - DEMO: Narcissistic Abuse (Coaching VS therapy)00:45:05
In this episode you’re going to hear a coaching demo I did in front of an audience with a client suffering from what she described as narcissistic abuse.

She sometimes felt overwhelming fear of rejection, and wanted to start living with more peace and freedom.

The client had trained extensively as a therapist, and was convinced her present-day problems were rooted in her past.

And she'd tried lots of things...

Telling herself she knew it was just a story (she didn't).

Trying to tell herself a better story (she couldn't).

Working at accepting the overwhelming feelings (they seemed unacceptable).

But what if there's so much *less* than that to do?

You may have heard me say that the two most valuable things a person can discover are how experience is created and who they really are.

My client thought her overwhelming feelings were telling her about her past (they weren't).

My client thought there was something wrong with her (there wasn't. And there isn't.)

As the session proceeded, she started waking up to the truth of who she really is.

And everything shifted.

A few days later, she wrote that everything had changed since our session. She said she feels so much more relaxed in the areas where she'd been struggling.

She said that the feeling of lack she'd been experiencing had somehow disappeared.

And she hadn't been working at it.

It just happened.

That's the power of insight and realisation.

As you’ll hear, I move between coaching the client and speaking to the audience. The main coaching session is in the first 20 minutes of the podcast, then I speak to the audience for a while then come back to the coaching client for the last few minutes to check in with her. So I hope you enjoy the session.

By the way, if you’re a ClarityPro member, you’ll be receiving a fully unpacked version of this coaching session where I take you behind the scenes and explain what I’m responding to, what’s guiding the questions I’m asking and how I’m making sense of what the client is telling me. So if you’re a ClarityPro Member, you’ll find that in the impact kit for the module called ‘Coaching, Therapy & Changework from the Inside-out’. And if you’re not a ClarityPro member, but you want to learn how to share the principles with anybody, on any topic and in any situation, you can find out more about our community and what’s on offer at www.JamieSmart.com/claritypro

And if you want to learn how to bring an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your work and life, you can join me on the January 2020 intake of the  Clarity Certification Training, you can get one of the last 11 places and save up to £2,000 off the full price when you book your place by Friday, 10th January. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach.
12 Aug 2020#049 - Climate Change: A principles perspective with Ami Chen - Mills01:36:31

I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. A few months ago, I had a conversation with my good friend and colleague, Ami Chen Mills. As well as being a very experienced principles teacher (Ami was one of the first people I heard talking about this understanding), she’s the co-founder of the Santa Cruz chapter of Extinction Rebellion.

Earlier in the year, Ami wrote a Medium article, calling out her colleagues in the principles community for a lack of comment and action on climate change (the article was called, ‘An Open Letter to My Spiritual Colleagues: On “Spirit” and the Climate Emergency’.)

I read the article and invited Ami to come on my podcast (she accepted.)

While I know that there is a broad range of opinion on the subject of climate change, one thing is abundantly clear to me:

Humanity currently faces a number of existential threats, including climate change, global pandemics, possible nuclear winter and the dizzying rise of artificial intelligence. In recent years, the world seems more and more like a Marvel comic, replete with mustachioed villains and killer robots.

One of my heroes, Buckminster Fuller once wrote,

“Whether it is to be Utopia or Oblivion will be a touch-and-go relay race right up to the final moment… Humanity is in ‘final exam’ as to whether or not it qualifies for continuance in Universe.”

This has never looked more true to me.

So how can we usefully orient ourselves to the challenges we face in the years ahead? And how can the principles help us make sense of things that sometimes seem insensible?

Exploring the answers to these questions is what this episode is all about. By the way, we recorded this before the full scale of the pandemic was known. For that reason, I’ve delayed the release of this episode until now. So regardless of what your current perspective on the whole question of climate change is, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this episode.

21 Mar 2025#90 - 3 Principles vs Non-Duality: Difference?00:04:00

I’ve got a short, 4-minute clip that dives into a question I hear all the time:

Are non-duality and the Three Principles really different? And what if you love them both?

In it, I explore why they’re actually pointing to the same truth in different ways, a key distinction that sets the 3 Principles apart, and how you can blend whatever resonates to spark new insights - for yourself, your loved ones, and your clients.

If this catches your interest, I think you’ll really enjoy this conversation.

Tons of love,
Jamie

12 Jun 2020#042 - How do you get the principles 'out there' in your community?00:41:39
Today, I’m going to introduce you to one of my favourite people. She's a master of having a flash of inspiration and then running with it.

She's got a deep understanding of the principles behind clarity, and at the start of this year, she found herself wondering...

"What would it be like to live in in a town where we had the time and energy to connect with friends, and family and the wider community?"

Clarity Coach Liz Scott asked herself this question in January and started a 3-month experiment exploring wellbeing in her local town of Ivybridge.

So how did it go?

Put it this way. The experiment has been extended for another 6 months!

In fact, Liz is now running online 'Wellbeing Listener' programmes supporting those in the community who want to be better listeners for friends, family and work colleagues.

And here's the cool thing...
Few of the participants have ever even heard of the Inside-Out understanding.

But based on their experience so far, they're very curious to find out more.

Lots of people have already joined in with the Wellbeing Listener webinar including people from charities, volunteers, listening services, the community connector, business-owners, parents, change-workers and educators.

So I've asked Liz to join us here in to share
- her inspiration for the project
- how she got it off the ground
- and her ideas about where it may go next

And here's the thing: because these principles are playing out for *everyone*, this conversation will be a great opportunity to have insights and realisations for yourself into the principles, and how you can share them with others.
04 Apr 2018RMP040: Jamie Smart - You Create Your Experience of Reality00:18:53

This episode is the recording of a keynote speech I did at the Inside Out Conference in Zurich a couple of years ago. It’s only a 17-minute talk but I really enjoyed it and so I hope that you do too.

18 Apr 2018Keynote: Regents Business School - Resilience, Potential and Personal Development00:48:45

This is a keynote that I did for Regents Business School and it requires a little bit of introduction because this was the very last thing the students attended before the end of their term and so (as you can imagine) the students were very excited and there was a lot of different stuff going on (Eg. side conversations, people texting each other and on phones), it was a lot of what we would call distraction (we're talking about students between 19 and 22 years old) and it's the last day of school so (as you'll hear when you listen to the recording) part of what I'm doing is the conveying of information but a big part of what I'm doing is engaging the students, getting their attention and bringing them together as a group so that I can help them have an experience of what I'm pointing to.

So I'm busting out everything that occurs to me in the moment to get people's attention, get them to focus, bring them into the present etc.

The vibe and style of the talk may be a little bit different to some of the things you've heard from me in the past but I thought you might find it interesting to see what it’s like because my basic idea when I'm talking to any group is how can I make it easy for them to look in the direction I'm pointing and step one with that is always to get their attention and meet them where they are then lead them in the direction I'm heading.

You can make up your own mind about how well that worked and maybe make your own guesses about at what point in the talk we started to drop into that deeper space together.

By the way, if you'd like to book me to do a keynote for your organisation or your event just send an email to dawn@jamiesmart.com with 'keynote' in the
subject line.

15 Aug 2018#009 - Demo – Dealing with Impostor Syndrome, Self-doubt and Self-belief01:20:32

This episode is a coaching session I did with a client who was struggling with so-called “impostor syndrome”, self-doubt and lack of self-belief. And these are such common issues for people that I thought it would be a really useful one to share with you.

Emma Broome is an elite performance coach, with a background in elite performance herself as an aerial skier. But when she first reached out to me, she told me she was really struggling with impostor syndrome and self-doubt. And she was surprised when I said, “That's a bit of a specialty of mine, so we'll get that handled, probably during the first week of the programme.” I invited her to do a coaching demo with me during a training programme, and the recording you’re about to hear is the result. By the way, 2 weeks ago she posted on Facebook saying, “I had my first enrolment conversation 10 days ago, did my first proposal last week and had it accepted yesterday! I now have my first half day intensive in 10 days time.” So things have really shifted since she and I had this coaching session.

This episode was brought to you by the certified clarity coach training programme, and the 2018 programme is now open for registration, and here’s something you need to know; we’re NOT running the programme next year, so the intake that’s starting this September 2018 is the last chance you’ll get to join us until 2020 at the earliest, so if you want to find out how to become a Certified Clarity Coach, and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life, go to www.jamiesmart.com/coach

26 Apr 2019#024 - Nick Bottini From Scared of speaking on his home-turf to bestselling author, sharing the principles00:39:38

In this episode of the podcast, you’re going to be hearing a conversation I had with a good friend and colleague, Nick Bottini. Over the past couple of years he’s gone from being the music teacher in a school to being a bestselling author, speaker and coach who’s passionate about sharing the inside-out understanding with musicians.

And while hundreds of thousands of people are now exploring and having insights into this understanding, there are relatively few people who are managing to share this understanding effectively.

Nick’s an example of someone who’s been proactive in navigating that journey from having his OWN insights into the inside-out nature of life, to helping other people to have THEIR own realisations, but that’s not where he started. In the beginning, Nick experienced what people often call ‘impostor syndrome’ when it came to sharing the principles with musicians. He said,

“I did hold off sharing with musicians because I felt like ‘Who am I to share it at all’ and sharing it on my home territory is the scariest thing to do because it's like I've got real credibility to lose. I could be ‘that guy that's always talking about that thing’ you know, and and how will people react to that?”

And here’s one of the reasons I’m really excited to be sharing this conversation with you. As you may already know, at our company, we believe the most valuable things you can discover are how experience is created and who you really are. Our mission is to inspire and educate a generation to experience lives of clarity, resilience and wellbeing.

And one of the things we’ve realised is that the world needs more people who can share the inside-out understanding with others. While Nick’s story is going to be an inspiration for people who want to ‘get this understanding out there’, there’s an important message for all of us in it:

That the most important place to share what you’ve seen is on your ‘home turf’; in the way you’re living your life, and connecting with the people around you.

By the way - whether you have an audience you’d like to reach, like Nick, or you just want to share what you’ve realised with the people already in your world, we’ve just launched a new membership site called Clarity Pro. It’s designed for you to have everything you need to share the principles like a pro, with anybody, on any topic and in any situation. To find out more, go to www.JamieSmart.com/claritypro

05 May 2020#038 - KEYNOTE : The Search is Over (except when it isn’t)01:28:03

I’m Jamie Smart, and welcome to the podcast. We’re many weeks into lockdown as i record this, so I hope this finds you and yours safe and well. One of the things I’ve been doing is having a look at ways to introduce people to my work, and so I was looking through our most popular podcast episodes. I’ve got some great new episodes lined up for you, but this week I’m going to share one of our most popular episodes of all time.

The recording you’re about to hear is a keynote speech I did at the opening of the first “Unlimited Conference” in Helsinki, Finland back in 2016. It starts with an introduction from the conference organiser, Niko Leppanen. I first met Niko at a workshop in Oslo, Norway, and he went on to train with me as a Clarity Coach, so we’ve been on this journey together for quite a while. Now, almost everyone who’s been touched by the 3 principles gets hit by the same three big questions,

1) Why doesn’t everyone know this?

2) What can I do to help get this ‘out there’?

3) Why does it sometimes seem difficult to share this understanding with other people?

The Unlimited Conference was Niko’s inspired answer to the “How can I help get this out there?” question, so I felt very honoured to be one of the speakers. And the name of my keynote talk was, “The Search is Over (except when it isn’t)”.

So here’s the episode...
02 May 2018#001 - Realising Resilience00:19:58

Realising Resilience is a brief (20 minutes) recording I created to help you tap into your innate capacity for resilience; a capacity that exists within every human being. This may be one of those recordings you decide to listen to over and over again, because it will help point you in the direction of your innate resources.

12 Aug 2019#027 - Body Image, Identity and Wellbeing00:21:27
So that’s what I did. I started with a question:

“What is body image?”

And we took it from there. The talk ranged from puppies to epistemology… from toddlers to your true identity…

And at one point it occurred to me to ask a question that had never occurred to me before (this is the brain-teaser)…

"If you were to wake up tomorrow morning and discover that your body image had improved, like it was 2x or 5x or 100 times as good… how would you know?"

I spoke for 18 minutes, and then we spent the next 40 minutes doing coaching demos. The coaching demos are private and confidential, but Charli kindly gave me permission to share this 18-minute body-image talk with my community.

Would you like to see / hear the session?
16 Dec 2022#067 - Develop Your Intuition with Carl Harvey01:00:32
I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. I’ve called this episode, “Develop Your Intuition”, and it’s a recording from the ClarityLive! event we held in November. The theme for the event was “Passion, Purpose & Personal Expression” and it was really great. We had people joining us from all around the world, and there was a lovely sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with people who are having a big impact in the world, and I picked their brains about what it means to bring your unique expression to life, and how this understanding has helped them do that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with my dear friend and colleague, Carl Harvey. Carl is the founder of the Abundance Book Club and The Big Life show. And he was also MindValley's head copywriter for a couple of years - Carl's a powerhouse!

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that my beloved Emma McDevitt and I are offering a new programme starting in January called the Clarity Professional Programme: Bring Your Unique Expression to Life.

The theme of uncovering and living your unique expression is one that’s very alive for us both, so we’re inspired to share it with a group of explorers.

We’ve created a brief video about the programme and a simple 'unique expression diagnostic' process. Its purpose is to continue deepening your awareness of your unique expression and to help us (me and Emma) get a sense of where you're at in your journey.

If you want to watch the video, do the diagnostic and find out more about the programme, just pop an email to support@jamiesmart.com with the word “video” in the subject line and we’ll get everything over to you.

And you can find out more about Carl and his work at www.CarlHarvey.com

So now to the episode.
13 Jan 2022#060 - The Power of Precision with Mamoon Yusaf01:14:15

I’ve called this episode, “The Power of Precision”, and I’m excited to share this episode with you because it’s a recording from the ClarityLive! event we held, just last weekend. The theme for the event was “How to make 2022 your most beautiful year yet” and it was really terrific. We had people joining us from all around the world, and there was a lovely sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with Certified Clarity Coaches who have been having a big impact in the world, and I picked their brains about what it means to live a beautiful life, and how this understanding has helped them do that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with the number 1 bestselling author, coach & trainer, Mamoon Yusaf.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the final intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme. I say ‘final’ because as you may have heard, I’ve decided to stop all business activities except for delivering programmes that I already have on the calendar.

Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach to find out more.

And Clarity Certification Training is the programme Mamoon did 10 years ago when he was earlier in his journey. So now to the episode.

15 May 2024#072 - Ankush Jain - Raising the consciousness of the planet00:42:55
Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. In this episode, you’re going to hear a conversation I had with my good friend and colleague, Ankush Jain. Ankush is a life and business coach, he’s a consultant, a proud father, a published author, a podcast host and a public speaker. As you’ll hear, he’s on a mission to raise the consciousness of the planet through changing the coaching industry. And one of the vehicles he’s using for this is his Coaching Career School which he launched in 2022, helping coaches grow impactful, ethical and sustainable practices.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the September 2024 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

Clarity Certification is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (the ICF) as a provider of Continuous Coach Education, so if you’re already an ICF-certified coach, you can use the programme to earn CCE units. Either way, you can take part in CCT with full confidence that the programme is fully accredited by the ICF as a Continuous Coaching Education provider. And there’s a special earlybird price if you book your place by the end of May. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach

So now to the episode.
31 Jan 2025#84 - COACHING DEMO: Courage, Imposter Syndrome, and Following Your Heart00:24:39

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of speaking at a Masterclass hosted by my dear friend Simon Paine, co-founder of the Rebel Business School. Simon is a Clarity Coach and a successful entrepreneur in his own right, and it’s always a pleasure to speak with his community.

One of the highlights of the session was a live coaching demo I did with Evie, who shared her struggles with imposter syndrome and her dream of stepping into her full potential.

What unfolded was one of those transformative conversations that cuts through noise and gets to the heart of what really holds us back - and what’s possible when we trust the wisdom within.

In this week’s podcast episode, you’ll discover:

  • Why imposter syndrome is nothing more than a case of mistaken identity - and how to see past it.
  • The truth about fear and courage
  • How to uncover the path life is calling you to take (the one your heart already knows), even when your head doubts it.

After our session, Evie sent me a heartfelt email about her experience. With her permission, here’s what she shared:

Hi Jamie

I just wanted to drop a personal thank you for yesterday's Master Transformational Impact session via Rebel Business School.

Whilst I found the whole session to be inspirational, the one on one section did exactly as it said on the tin. I've awoken today with a released sense of clarity and purpose. So much of what you spoke about resonated deeply with me, and our conversation cracked open something inside that I've been working on for a number of years.

It felt as though in that held space I finally felt my heart take over from the negativity in my brain. It was powerful.

So, thank you again. I am truly grateful for our conversation yesterday.

Warmest wishes

Evie Jones

This episode is a chance to reconnect with your own inner wisdom and say yes to what life is calling you to create.

Tons of love,

Jamie

06 Sep 2022#064 - KEYNOTE: NATO Defense College - The 3Ps meet the military00:53:22
Teaching subtractive psychology to the brass at NATO

Welcome to the podcast; I’m Jamie Smart, and I’ve really been looking forward to this one.
Last summer, in August 2021, I flew to Rome to deliver a keynote speech to 80 military and civilian personnel at the NATO Defense College.
My brief was to help them have greater clarity, less stress, more productivity and stronger professional relationships (the college has staff from 20 member states, so good communication is essential).
There was one problem: my contact warned me that the military personnel wouldn’t enjoy my talk. He explained these were experienced senior officers (colonels, generals etc) who already felt they had all the EQ they needed. He said they’d likely be checked out and checking their watches during my session.
So here’s the thing: I love a challenge.
I made it my mission to get everyone fully engaged and have a big impact as I shared the principles with them.
The topics we covered ranged from from Napoleon to Netflix, from strategic insight to the unsuspected superpowers everyone has.
It was the first live in-person talk I’d done in over 18 months (because of lockdown). For the first 10-15 minutes, you may be able to hear the adrenaline in my voice, but this ended up being a great teaching point when we talked about the link between rabbits and your innate capacity for handling stress

My aim is always to be practical without being prescriptive, leverage spiritual principles without being woo-woo, to have a big impact without being earnest and to share a good feeling in the process, so I hope this keynote meets these criteria for you.

By the way, at the end of this month, I’m going to kick off the only Thriving Coaches Blueprint programme we’re going to be running this year, and the last one I’m ever going to run in the 12-week form we’ve taken over 500 coaches, therapists and trainers through over the past 8 years.

As you may know, I love unpacking what I do; it really lights me up, so for the first time ever, over the course of this month I’m going to be ‘unpacking’ my ‘simple, effective, fun’ launch process and showing you how it all applies to getting clients and growing a coaching business. It’s all free, so if you want to find out more head over to www.jamiesmart.com/business

This is the ‘simple, effective, fun’ edition of the masterclass, and I’m going to be doing my best to embody and model for you the qualities that are at the heart of growing a successful coaching business. These include:
- Building relationships by giving people an experience of you
- Living and working in the feeling you want to share with others
- Doing the things you’re passionate about
- Playing to your strengths and creating massive value
- Being guided by realisation, wisdom and insight
- Being of service to others
- Doing all of this with honesty, simplicity and authenticity
- Having fun!!!!!

I’m going to be doing this all month, and it’s all going to be free of charge. Some of it will be planned, and some will be spontaneous and on-the-fly. You can register for free at www.jamiesmart.com/business

Now here's the episode...
24 Nov 2020#054 - DEMO: Weight-loss and the language of connection00:31:04

This episode features a coaching demo around weight-loss and fitness during lockdown that I did during a recent masterclass, "The Language of Insight & Transformational Change". I start by talking about the six 'languages of transformation' before diving into one of them, the language of connection.

You'll hear me coaching my client, Angela on her topic, weight-loss and staying fit and healthy while working on her online business. And as I work with her, you'll hear me demonstrating the language of connection to 'get her world' and find my way into a deeper connection with her. Angela's one of the people on my current Thriving Coaches Blueprint programme, so she's already had some breakthroughs in her coaching practice. So she decided to be particularly brave and dive into a topic that she's never discussed publicly before.

So here's the episode...

PS So a few days after we recorded this coaching demo, Angela sent me a Facebook message. Here's what she said:

My Experience Of The Coaching was that it felt easy and simple and the realisation re 'do what you love' was bloody obvious doh! But I heard and felt it deeply...as if I was listening underwater. TBC...

Other realisations I've had since are:

1) SELF CARE listen to my body, ie. listen to wisdom about my body... If I need rest, rest. If I want to go out with the dogs do that. Feeling tired isn't telling me about anything other than feeling tired.

2) it's OK to feel under par and still do stuff and be OK with that eg keep commitments then rest afterwards.

3) BREATHING: I've noticed I've started to breathe diaphragmatically, Which creates more room in your lungs and the long out-breath tightens the core!

4)overall I feel an underlying deep sense of love, peace and well being... I'm reminded of this by Louis de Bernieres...

"Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do.  Love itself is what

is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident."

I know this is usually quoted about romantic love, but to me, I'm just seeing more and more deeply that to Love Life means to love and care for mySelf as well as others.

**re Louis de Bernieres... The similarity is with being in love with the principles, or the idea of them, now the 'Whoop whoop' has settled down and what I'm left with IS love.

And a more tangible difference... After 2 days of rest at home with my lovely other-half, open fires, and food that I enjoy, I had the energy to go to my paddock where I  trained/played/ran around with the pup. It was easy and fun.

The way it seems to me is it's like a balloon has been popped... And all the air inside has been released into the world. The air is now light and free to move wherever the breeze takes it. And the balloon no longer exists.

As you can imagine, that was a beautiful message to read. And if you want to increase your ability to have this sort of impact with people, it's one of the things we'll be exploring on The Language of Transformation, a six-week course I'm kicking off in December. We'll be diving into all six of the languages of transformation, all in the service of creating greater engagement, connection and impact. And it starts with the 2-day Conversational Transformation Bootcamp on 12 and 13 December, followed by six weeks of learning modules and group-coaching - we'll be focusing in on one of the six languages of transformation each week. And you can save £300 and get a bonus package worth over £1400 when you book your place before midnight on Monday, November 30th. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/language to register now and save £300, that's www.JamieSmart.com/language.

07 Nov 2018#015 - DEMO: Trump-anxiety and our true identity00:32:42

In this episode, you’re going to hear a coaching session that’s going to be particularly relevant to a lot of people in light of this week’s mid-term elections in the USA, because the client, Kathleen, is feeling frightened and anxious about the social, economic and political climate. At one point in the conversation, you’ll hear me ask what may strike you as a strange and bizarre question: Are you open to the possibility that your feelings don’t know who’s president?

As you’ll hear when you listen to the session, Kathleen gets insights into where her experience comes from, and who she really is. This session was taken from a Clarity Community call, and this is a session I do once a month where all my clients, past and present, are invited to a group coaching session. Kathleen’s session was at the start of the community call, so in the final 8 minutes of this episode, I check back in with her. She shares her insights and realisations from the coaching session, and as you’ll hear, things have really shifted.

18 Jul 2018#007 - Demo - The Art of Enjoying Free Time00:18:05

In this episode you’re going to hear an excerpt from a live coaching demo I did for Kimberley Hare’s Heart of Thriving group. The client is Gina, who’s recently been made redundant, and has been enjoying some time for rest and rejuvenation after many years of employment. Gina wants to write a book, and to help other people but as you’ll hear, she’s been struggling to ‘get herself’ to take action and move forward, so that’s what she asks for my help with.

By the way, this episode is sponsored by the certified Clarity Coach Training programme, a 10-month immersion into the principles behind clarity. So if you want to find out how to become a Clarity Coach and see what’s involved in bringing an understanding of these principles into every aspect of your life go to http://bit.ly/coachingclarity

01 Aug 2018#008 - Demo - Why It's Not Your Thinking00:21:25

In this episode of Get Clarity you will hear a coaching session which was recorded during a Clarity Community call (a monthly call I do for those in my community that have been on one of my programmes).

Doreen is a coach from Belfast who works with people who want to improve their lives and improve their relationship with money. As you’ll hear Doreen has recently finished the Thriving Coaches Blueprint (which had a really big impact on her), but she found herself from time to time, telling herself ‘oh it’s just your thinking’…

You may have heard people say this to you or other people or maybe you’ve even tried saying it to yourself and it just doesn’t help.

This was one of the things Doreen had run up against and so because this is such a common theme I thought it would be great to share this episode. Where I go with this is the last place that most people would expect.

-

This week, I'm excited to share a fascinating conversation with my good friend and colleague, Dr. Joseph Riggio.

Joseph and I have been friends for over 25 years, often exploring deep questions about human potential, transformation, and what it takes to live a truly inspired life.

Recently, Joseph sent me a thought-provoking message from sunny Florida, challenging me to reflect on the relationship between our inner perceptions and external reality. He asked:

"How do we reconcile the 3Ps concept that 'it's all just thought' with the undeniable external feedback we constantly receive from the world around us?"

(If you've been following my work over the past decade, you may have noticed that I tend to avoid the phrase "just thought"—and for good reason.)

Joseph’s question sparked an insightful conversation between us, giving me a chance to clarify my particular understanding of Sydney Banks’ teachings, as well as to explore the profound practical implications of how we perceive and navigate reality.

I'm delighted to share our recorded discussion as this week’s podcast episode.

Here are a few highlights from our conversation:

  • Why transformation is always ontologically based and embodied (and what that means in practical terms).

  • How our experience of reality is essentially a simulation—and how deeply understanding the "rules" of this simulation can profoundly impact your life.

  • The critical difference between transformation and mastery—and why confusing the two can seriously limit your growth.

  • Why direct engagement with reality is essential for genuine insight and meaningful change.

We also explored the intersection between my approach (informed by the Three Principles) and Joseph’s work, which integrates NLP, hypnosis, and his unique "MythoSelf Process."

One thing worth noting: what you’re going to hear is a conversation between two friends and colleagues, comparing and seeking to better understand each others’ “maps of reality”. As such, it’s not a coaching or teaching session (though there’s still plenty to discover).

This conversation is particularly valuable if you're committed to making a meaningful impact—whether as a coach, speaker, leader, or in your own personal journey of transformation.

Big love,
Jamie

Juan Quesada works as an account executive for a large multi- national that makes enterprise software, and has worked around the world in companies such as Apple, Microsoft and SAP. And one of the interesting things about Juan is that he's now earning more as a coach than he was in his role as an account executive, and at the time of recording this interview, he's a week away from quitting his job.
