02 Jun 2020 | Revisiting Ep 85: Freddy vs Jason vs Michael Myers | 01:04:16
We're nowhere close to Halloween, but there are plenty of horrors in the world regardless. Here's this week's revisit: Freddy vs Jason vs Michael Myers. As All Hallow's Eve steadily creeps towards us, we thought it fitting to pit three of cinema's ultimate baddies against each other. After making a deal with the devil, Freddy Krueger haunts your nightmares wielding his signature razor-clad glove. There's no escaping this pizza-faced bad guy, not even Johnny Depp is safe. Jason Voorhees, star of the Friday the 13th films, has a bit of a murky backstory, but one thing's for sure, he loves dicing up any teen who even thinks of enjoying a summer by his lake. Finally, there's Michael Myers. This silent killer is the embodiment of pure evil and is the kind of guy that never knows when to quit. Myers can even make a William Shatner Halloween mask look scary. Who will win in this take-no-prisoners blood fest? From the camp to the gory, the seemingly endless titles in these 3 franchises offers up plenty to debate.

31 Mar 2020 | Revisiting Ep 6: Interview with Bradley Pierce of Beauty and the Beast and Jumanji Fame | 00:51:38

Well, instead of sitting around doing nothing, we decided to use this as an excuse to re-visit some of our favorite interviews over the past 3 years. This week, we're looking all the way back to Episode 6 and our interview with Bradley Pierce. The accomplished actor starred in such 90s classics as Beauty and the Beast (as Chip), Jumanji and the Sonic the Hedgehog animated series. The two iconic directors are up there on the Mount Rushmore of filmmakers, with multiple timeless movies in each of their filmographies. 29 Aug 2017 | Ep 28: Our Favorite Childhood Movies | 01:15:12
In this episode the guys discuss their favorite movies from their childhood. To qualify for this list the movie had to have come out in the 80s or 90s and have a childhood theme. Sorry Nick, no Pulp Fiction allowed. Nick also excludes The Monster Squad because it appears on all of his favorite lists and is getting out of hand. Get ready for full-blown nostalgia and travel in a time machine to a simpler era when we loved to be entertained by fantastical tales of kids we could relate to. 30 Apr 2019 | Ep 115: Did Our Avengers Endgame Predictions Come True? | 01:00:42
Before Avengers: Endgame hit theaters, we decided to sit down and record an episode where we lay out our predictions for the Marvel movie. This is that episode. We've now seen the Infinity War sequel and know everything that happens in the world of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and others, but at the time we knew nothing. Some of what we talk about turned out to be spot on, while others give a glimpse into another direction they could have taken the franchise. 16 Oct 2018 | Ep 87: Why Monsters Aren't Cool Anymore | 00:49:59
In honor of Halloween, our month of Horror continues. In this episode we're discussing what the hell happened to monsters. Once upon a time monsters ruled the movies - monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, Mr. Hyde and even big beasts that swallowed whole towns like King Kong and Godzilla. But somewhere along the way they became played out. At least that's how it seems. It's not enough to just have some big scary thing show up in a movie and expect everyone to gasp or let out a collective "Whoa!!" It requires more than a CGI monster to bust through a desensitized audience. Sure, it takes real practical innovation and a twist on the old to keep us guessing, but there has to be more. We're digging into it all and getting to the bottom of what's missing and what should be done to make monsters cool again. We're ready to be scared again. Are you? Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
17 Sep 2019 | Ep 135: The Magic of The Lion King | 00:45:13
We might be a little late to the party, but now that Thiago has finally seen The Lion King, we can talk about the magic (and the flaws) in Disney's newest remake of an animated classic. We discuss things like the choice of voice actors and the quality of the CGI used in the film and whether or not these hold a candle to the original. But most importantly, we argue.
04 Jul 2017 | Ep 20: Can Ron Howard Save Han Solo? | 00:48:06

30 Jan 2018 | Ep 50: Movies People Hate But We Love | 01:58:03
WE MADE IT! EPISODE 50!!! We'd like to thank the Academy...In this episode we're debuting a new remixed intro and sharing the mic with the creator of said remix, Spaceship. Calling in from the Sundance Film Festival, Spaceship helps us tackle a list of movies that people hate but we love. Some of our movies will probably make you cringe but for some twisted masochistic reason we can't get enough of 'em. We want to thank all of our listeners out there who helped us get to the golden 50. We honestly couldn't have done it without you. I mean, we could have, but it would just be three guys playing dress-up and talking into microphones, pretending someone is listening. Like a couple of crazies. If you want us to go for another 50, please take a moment to share this podcast with your friends. And make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!

19 Feb 2019 | Ep 105: Our Favorite Musicals | 01:00:17
These past couple of years have seen a number of fantastic musicals like The Greatest Showman, Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born. So it only seemed appropriate that we do an episode dedicated to some of our favorite movie musicals. We decided to exclude classic animated Disney films like Aladdin and The Lion King because if they were included that's all we'd be talking about. We're talking movies like Grease, The Newsies, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory and Hello Dolly. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.
27 Aug 2019 | Ep 132: Sony vs Disney - Goodbye MCU Spider-Man | 00:55:40
Well, this was unexpected. Coming off the heels of the super successful Spider-Man: Far From Home, Sony and Disney have failed to come to an agreement that would keep Spider-Man in the MCU. So as much as it pains us, we're saying goodbye to Tom Holland, at least as an Avenger. We invite our good friend and Marvel expert, Mike from MDX Pods, to the show to clue us in as to what the hell is happening. And of course there's plenty of arguing as we debate which multi-billion dollar company is in the right. Check out MDX Pods for more great movie podcasts! And make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.

(Did someone say, "Whatzupwitu?") Plus, is Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets a sequel to Fifth Element? Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2the podcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
09 Oct 2018 | Ep 86: Horror Movies That Ruined Us | 01:00:02
It's time to continue Halloween month with horror movies that ruined us! When a movie is made right it has a visceral impact on the viewer resulting in some sort of emotional response. A comedy elicits laughter, a drama might elicit tears and a horror makes you vow to never ever in your life approach that subject ever again. By way of example, Jaws made us afraid to go in the water and IT made us swear off clowns. In fact, those movies negatively affected hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. They did their job well. There are a number of films which were able to hold this kind of power over us, and we're covering them in this episode. We're laying our souls bare and opening up to you, so please be kind. These are our fears and the things we vowed never to share a room with again. Maybe you can relate. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
15 Jan 2019 | Ep 100: Movies, Guests and Booze | 01:34:39
100 EPISODES!!! We did it!!! To help us celebrate, we had a few special guests come on the show to honor us and give us much-deserved praise. Well...that might not be completely accurate. But they definitely called into the show to talk to us. So our earlier statement is partially true. This episode is chockfull of fun, with movie trivia and games, movie reverence and maybe, just maybe, a LOT of imbibed alcohol. Thank you to Spaceship, Tony the Movie Guy and Mike from MDX Pods for celebrating with us! And thank you to all those who’ve listened to Get 2 the Podcast over the past 2 years. We started this podcast because of our love of movies, and wanted to share that obsession with others. The fact that you all decided to tune in and give us a listen makes the grind of a weekly show worth it. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Nick, Neal and Thiago

18 Apr 2017 | Ep 9: IT Remake Scary AF/Should Batgirl be Rated R? | 00:35:13
With the new trailer to the IT remake dropping, the guys decide to rewatch the original. They argue over whether it holds up or not. Spoiler: Tim Curry is still fantastic but some of it straight-up sucks. Plus, should the new Joss Whedon-directed Batgirl go for a hard R and who should play the titular character? Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
15 Oct 2019 | Ep 139: Is Joker Really Dangerous? | 00:35:34
While "Joker" is breaking box office records on its current theater run, there is an ongoing debate about the dangers associated with this type of film. Some argue that Todd Phillips' comic book movie sympathizes with, and may even encourage real-world violence, by those who've been bullied and oppressed. The flipside of that argument finds people defending art and the freedom of expression. Then there's all of the gray in between. Never ones to shy away from controversy, we tackle this debate head-on and break down the film and its controversial themes. No matter how things shake out at the end of this episode, there's no denying Joaquin Phoenix delivers a raw and powerful performance for the ages.
07 Aug 2018 | Ep 77: Tom Cruise, The Legend - Part 2 | 01:10:01

21 May 2019 | Ep 118: Here's...Chucky!! | 00:54:25
We're getting ready for the remake of "Child's Play" by looking back at the entire Chucky franchise, including the movie and mythology that started it all. We also break down the new trailer and cast our predictions on what would make the new installment stand alone from those that came before, some of which descended into B-movie territory. With Mark Hamill voicing the iconic murderous doll and a new updated AI theme, this might actually prove to be a solid horror movie. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.

26 Nov 2019 | Ep 145: Goodfellas vs The Godfather | 00:45:36
Goodfellas and The Godfather are the quintessential mob movies, but to call them that would hardly do them justice. Under the masterful direction of Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola, these films brought a nuance and humanity to the world of organized crime that has been hard to replicate. In honor of the release of The Irishman, we put these two mafia masterpieces up against each other to see which would come out on top. And while we might crown a winner, the victor only wins by a microscopic hair. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.
04 Dec 2018 | Ep 94: Does Creed 2 Mean the End for Rocky? | 00:53:36
Creed 2 is yet another smash hit for the over 40-year old Rocky franchise. When they rebooted the series in 2015 with Creed, the Italian Stallion was repositioned as a supporting actor, which earned Sylvester Stallone his first acting Oscar nomination since the first Rocky film in 1976. Creed 2 once again sees the iconic Philly boxer as a supporting character, while continuing to dig deeper into the layers that make up the former boxing champ. Without giving up any spoilers, there are some signs in Creed 2 that suggest Sly might be calling it a day on his most famous role. Many are questioning whether or not these particular scenes spell the end, and if we'll see a Rocky-less Creed 3. There's plenty here to discuss and as we tend to do, argue. Listen in on while we break it down for you. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
15 Aug 2017 | Ep 26: Jean-Claude Van Damme vs Steven Seagal | 00:51:46
We're back with our next installment of our popular Face-off series. This time we're fighting over martial arts stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal. Each of us grew up on different sides of this argument and bring that heat to the podcast. Someone's getting a karate kick to the head before the episode is done. Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
06 Jun 2017 | Ep 16: Return of the Universal Monsters/Top Gun 2: The Maverick Awakens | 00:35:08
With the announcement and release of the trailer for the Dark Universe, the guys debate the best depiction of the Universal Monsters in the last 30 years. Did someone say Monster Squad? Plus, Tom Cruise announces Top Gun 2 will begin filming next year. Our guess is Mav has the need for something stronger than speed. What do the guys hope to see in the sequel? Two words: Volley. Ball. Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
19 Sep 2017 | Ep 31: Stephen King - The Master of Horror | 00:49:36
After having seen the masterpiece that is IT (2017) the fellas decide to take a trip into the mind of Stephen King for something truly horrifying. We look at the many movies over the past 40 years adapted from the Master of Horror's stories. What films are classics and what films are showing signs of old age? From Carrie and Christine to Stand by Me and Children of the Corn, this episode gets weird. Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
11 Mar 2017 | Ep 3: Alien: Covenant Trailer Drops/James Cameron vs Ridley Scott | 00:35:21
The Alien: Covenant trailer drops online. Neal and Thiago aren't convinced it's going to be good. Nick defends it to the death. Plus, Nick and Neal go at it on who's a better director - James Cameron or Ridley Scott? Spoiler: One of them is wrong.
28 Jan 2020 | Ep 154: Deepfake and the Movies | 00:32:54
"The Irishman" is nominated for a number of Oscars and rightfully so, but there's still a lot of debate over whether or not the de-aging CGI in the film are really the best they could be. A recent YouTube video put out by the channel iFake shows a number of scenes from the gangster movie reimagined using deepfake on Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. This got us thinking about the future of deepfake in movies and whether or not the technology is ready for the big screen. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.
18 Sep 2018 | Ep 83: Our Favorite Movie Soundtracks | 00:54:25
It's often said that sound and music make up 50% of a movie's effectiveness. When you drop out sound, and especially music, you lose most, if not all, of the emotional impact. In this episode we're looking at some of our favorite movie soundtracks and why we love them. Some of these movies contain original songs while others, like Tarantino's films, are perfectly curated for the movie and the scenes in which they appear. So listen to us discuss movie soundtracks like The Blues Brothers, Top Gun, Mannequin, Beverly Hills Cop, The Bodyguard, Aladdin, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and so many more. And if you're a big fan of off-key singing, not unlike the sounds of dying alley cats, then this is the episode for you! Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
21 Mar 2017 | Ep 5: Do We Need Avatar 2?/History of Post-Credit Scenes | 00:31:11
James Cameron announced that Avatar 2 is delayed again. How come? We also debate the comparison of Avatar to Pocahontas and Ferngully. Plus, we cover the history of post-credit scenes in movies.
11 Sep 2018 | Ep 82: Black and Dekker Present The Predator | 00:50:19
1, 2, The Predator is coming for you. Well, more like it's coming to a theater near you. We're breaking down how we got here in the long-running franchise and what you can expect from the newest outing. Hint: lots of violence and running, definitely running. It's been 8 years since we've had a new Predator movie and it's been 28 years since we've had a great one. After a couple of mediocre turns in the Alien vs Predator series and a step back in the right direction with Predators, the trophy-seeking baddie is back on the big screen with something that feels closer to the original classic. Hawkins himself, Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3) teams up with Fred Dekker for the first time since The Monster Squad, and we couldn't be more excited. The director is, in our humble and correct opinion, best suited to helm, what he's calling, a direct sequel to the original 2 films. The all-star cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Jake Busey and Thomas Jane. So what are you waiting for? GOOOOO! GET 2 THE PODCAST!!! Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!

Join us as we cover our favorite holiday films and the moments that meant the most to us. Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
25 Jun 2019 | Ep 123: Brace Yourself for IT Chapter 2 | 00:41:31
We're calling it right now, IT Chapter 2 is going to be the best horror movie of 2019. Pennywise and the Losers Club return this September with Jessica Chastain, Will McAvoy, Bill Hader and others stepping in as the adult versions of the characters played to perfection in the first film. The newest trailer is just a glimpse into the unsettling visual approach to Stephen King's classic tale of an evil clown that wreaks havoc on a small New England town. In this episode, we discuss our reactions to the trailer and what we expect when the movie hits theaters just before Halloween. The guys each make a list of their top 5 summer blockbuster films of all time. Each list is solid but that doesn't mean blood won't be spilled. It's pretty evident that Nick's list is easily the best (Thiago edit: BS). Each makes a case for his movie choices with lots of trivia and sharp analysis on why these flicks deserve a spot in the top 5. 09 Apr 2019 | Ep 112: Guillermo del Toro's Dark Pinocchio Movie | 00:43:00
Guillermo del Toro always has a million and one movies in development, but it looks like his long-gestating Pinocchio iteration is finally on the fast track and will actually go into production in the near future. Thanks to backing by Netflix and a slew of Oscars for his last outing, The Shape of Water, del Toro will finally be able to put his spin on the tale of a wooden puppet come to life. In this episode, we update you on everything we know about the project so far including how the Mexican director wants to approach the subject matter and what technology he's going to use to animate the film. 05 Jun 2018 | Ep 68: Star Wars vs Empire vs Jedi | 00:56:20
With the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, we decided to look back at the movies that started it all. In this podcast episode, we're discussing (arguing) the original Star Wars trilogy and naming a winner once and for all. There are some die hard Episode IV: A New Hope fans as well as those that swear Empire Strikes Back is the greatest movie ever made. And of course there are some that would crown Return of the Jedi despite the appearance of walking talking teddy bears (Ewoks). Apparently sticks and stones can break bones and also kill fully armored soldiers wielding laser guns. Sure, that's plausible. It's all fair game in this unorthodox versus episode. 24 Mar 2020 | Ep 162: Get 2 the Movies...at home | 00:46:39
Well, in an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we broke down and recorded in different locations for the first time since we started Get 2 the Movies in March 2017. Thiago hordes all the equipment we use to record the podcast, so you might notice he sounds a lot better than Neal and Nick, but that doesn't stop all the quality content coming from N&N. In this episode, we're talking about movies and shows you can watch from home while you wait out this virus. Stay safe and healthy, everyone! 27 Nov 2018 | Ep 93: The Best Traveling Movies | 01:03:44
The holidays are never complete without endless traveling to see family and friends. Whether you're packing the family in the old family truckster for a cross-country road trip or flying coach on a plane flight from hell, there's plenty of room for drama. Nobody understands this better than the people who make movies, which is why there's no shortage of excellent films about the agony of travel. In this episode, we're covering some of our favorites and analyzing what makes them so good. Some are gut-busting and others are gut-wrenching, but they all perfectly capture the thrill and misery of travel. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
23 Jan 2018 | Ep 49: The Evolution of Action Films Pt. 2 | 01:38:50
BAM! POW! CRASH! We're wrapping up our dive into the evolution of action films with the second episode in our two-part series. We're discussing movies in the 80s, 90s and 2000s and trying desperately to fit it all in without digressing into a wild tangent. We failed utterly. But hey, that's show biz! Join us on a crazy ride filled with gritty action, bad taste and absolutely classic cinema. And make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
12 Feb 2019 | Ep 104: Here’s What We’re Watching | 00:40:54

A short review accompanies each movie and, of course, our proprietary tangents are rampant throughout this episode. 10 Dec 2019 | Ep 147: Bond 25 - No Time to Die | 00:34:45
They just dropped the first trailer for the new James Bond outing "No Time to Die" and we're geeking out over here. In this episode, we cover everything we see in the trailer and what this might mean for the oldest spy movie franchise. This will be Daniel Craig's last turn as 007 and they have the opportunity to hand it over to someone who can go the distance with the franchise or they can just reboot it completely after Bond 25. We'll have to wait to see what happens, but in the meantime, let's talk about it! 22 Jan 2019 | Ep 101: Everything We Know About Ghostbusters 3 | 00:40:27
When there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Jason Reitman! The son of original Ghostbusters' director, Ivan Reitman, announced last week that he's going to be directing an all-new installment in the beloved series of movies, set in the same universe as the 1984 and 1989 films. Naturally, this made our inner nerd do double backflips. For the most part, this news was well received by the internet at large, with a few voicing their dissent. We address it all in this episode, as well as some theories on what we will see in the movie set to be released in summer 2020. With Jason Reitman (who was 6 years old, roaming the set of the original and is the OG Ghostbusters fan) at the helm, they'll be fine. As long as they don't cross the streams. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
10 Apr 2018 | Ep 60: Best Buddy Cop Flicks Pt. 1 | 01:03:53
Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, Bad Boys, and yes even Se7en, have virtually defined the buddy cop genre. We're laying down the law as we speak on our favorites and arguably the best of the genre. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
26 Jun 2018 | Ep 71: Linda Hamilton Returns to Terminator | 00:51:10
Sarah Connor is back!! News of Linda Hamilton returning to the Terminator franchise 28 years after her last outing has had us excited for some time now. But now that we have photos of her on set dressed like the badass Sarah Connor, we're geeking out real hard. Other than the silver mane she's sporting, this looks just like the Sarah we fell in love with back in the 90s. In this episode we discuss and pitch our ideas for the still-as-yet-to-be-announced plot for Terminator 6. All we know so far is that James Cameron is excited to bring the story into the 21st century to tackle subjects like AI and smart technology. With Deadpool director Tim Miller at the helm, James Cameron producing and Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton returning to the roles that made them famous, this is sure to be an excellent piece of cinema. Unfortunately, we don’t have any news yet on whether or not we’ll see mankind’s savior, John Connor, and whether or not Edward Furlong will play him. Considering that Cameron said the next film will be a direct sequel to T2: Judgement Day and treat the other sequels like they were a bad dream or part of an alternate timeline, it’s not unreasonable that Furlong would make an appearance. Terminator fans, join us for our ramblings on all past movies in the series and predictions for the future. And make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
28 May 2019 | Ep 119: This Week in Trailers - Tarantino, Terminator and Toy Story | 01:11:44
This past week saw trailer drops for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," "Terminator: Dark Fate" and "Toy Story 4." So you know we had to share our reactions and pick apart each trailer. We dive into each and break down what we see and what it means for each movie. While we still don't know how the movies will fare when they hit theaters later this year, we do know with names like Tarantino, Cameron and Hanks in the mix, odds are they're going to be great. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.
08 May 2018 | Ep 64: Everything Wrong with The Hobbit | 00:51:58
Amazon is making a Lord of the Rings show with a budget pushing $1 billion. So we have some advice - avoid some of the egregious mistakes of The Hobbit. While the prequels to LOTR weren't trash by any means, there were some pretty glaring missteps. Never ones to stop beating a dead horse, we're here to spell out those mistakes in the hopes someone of importance is listening. 11 Dec 2018 | Ep 95: Our Favorite Black and White Christmas Movies | 00:54:44
There are specific movies that are required viewing during the holiday season. You know the ones - Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, Home Alone, Elf, etc. But what about movies prior to the 80s? What about movies from the black and white era? In this episode we're giving you a guide to some of our favorite black and white Christmas movies starring iconic actors like Jimmy Stewart, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Of course, there's It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street, and we do cover those, but if you want to dig deeper and discover Christmas classics you may have never seen, then listen in. 06 Nov 2018 | Ep 90: Crazy Stories Behind Your Favorite Movies | 00:52:09
Hollywood has been in the business of making movies for over a century. The wild and thrilling stories told through the medium of film are endless, but some of the wildest and craziest stories didn't occur on film at all. We're diving into some of the craziest behind the scenes stories from the set of your favorite movies. Did you know that an angry cook slipped PCP into lobster chowder on the set of one of James Cameron's movies? Did you know that the set built for Waterworld simply floated away? There are so many stories we had trouble packing them all into one episode, but don't worry, we covered some of the really good ones. And ever the seekers of truth, we spent a little time debunking some popular myths. Ready for some wild stories? 02 Mar 2017 | EP 1: Why DC Can't Get its Act Together/Should Mel Gibson Direct Suicide Squad 2? | 00:31:00
The guys debate why DC can't make a decent movie to save their lives. We break down what they should do if they want to compete with Marvel. Plus, should Mel Gibson direct Suicide Squad 2? Should they get rid of Zack Snyder?
29 Jan 2019 | Ep 102: John Wick vs Jason Bourne | 01:11:14
John Wick is a man with nothing to lose. Jason Bourne is a man with no memory. Both are lethal killers. In this episode of Get 2 the Podcast, we’re pitting the two assassins against each other to see who comes out on top. We’re tackling skill sets, cinematic realism and the pure joy of the movies themselves in an attempt to declare a winner. 24 Jul 2018 | Ep 75: James Bond vs Mission Impossible | 01:01:22
In honor of the release of Mission: Impossible - Fallout, we're pitting Ethan Hunt and team up against that other kinda famous spy franchise. That's right, we're talking about Bond...James Bond. This is Spy vs Spy. It's IMF vs MI6. MI6 vs M:I6. Tom Cruise vs...a bunch of guys. Neal is dead certain 007 is going to be the obvious winner, citing iconic portrayals by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. But Thiago and Nick aren't having any of that. While the Bond films might have that brilliant lineup of British thespians, the Mission Impossible films have an amazing team that sees an update every movie. In addition to Tom Cruise, they've got actors like Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and now even Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Each has valid points but it just depends on who can shout their's the loudest. If there's one thing we can agree on, it's that both franchises have delivered up some of the best action cinema of the past 50 years. And the 6th installment of the Mission Impossible series is no exception. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
22 Oct 2019 | Ep 140: The Best of the Universal Monsters | 00:36:49
The Universal Monsters span nearly a century as cinematic interpretations of classic characters on the silver screen. Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Wolf Man and more have appeared in one form or another in endless classic movies. In fact, there are so many iterations of these scary bastards, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to sort through them and separate the schlock from the classic. In this episode, we're revisiting our favorite films that feature the creatures bent on chaos and destruction.
09 Jun 2020 | Revisiting Ep 102: John Wick vs Jason Bourne | 01:11:14
This week, we're revisiting our ultimate assassin showdown. 21 Aug 2018 | Ep 79: Rambo 5's Descent Into Hell | 00:49:18
In this episode we're discussing the recently green-lit sequel to Rambo and what we would like to see that might bring the series back to its original glory. With 1982's First Blood, Rambo became the second character portrayed by Sylvester Stallone to become a household name. The other, of course, being a certain punch-drunk boxer by the name of Rocky. After 3 sequels, the last one hitting theaters a decade ago, it seemed John Rambo was ready to hang up his bandana and hunting knife for good. That was, until Sly decided to dust him off for one more violence-filled adventure in Rambo 5. The fifth installment sees the Vietnam war vet facing off against a Mexican drug cartel as he busts up a sex trafficking ring. You know, usual Rambo stuff. With a script written by the Italian Stallion himself and director Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) attached, it's shaping up to be another wild ride. 02 Jul 2019 | Ep 124: Revisiting Avengers Endgame | 00:56:20
Now that Avengers: Endgame is back in theaters with an additional 6 minutes added to the Marvel movie, we thought it was as good a time as any to revisit the topic. With Thiago having finally seen the movie, we were able to talk about the film in depth without worrying about spoilers. Though the most surprising spoiler was that Neal and Thiago both set aside their hate for Marvel and fell in love with this movie. 13 Aug 2019 | Ep 130: Rest in Peace Rutger Hauer | 00:32:21
We lost one of the greatest actors of the last 40 years a couple of weeks ago. 03 Mar 2020 | Ep 159: Sonic and Other Great Video Game Movies | 00:46:31
The Sonic movie had one of the most interesting marketing rollouts in recent memory with a much-hated trailer forcing the studio to make last-minute, drastic changes to the way the world's most famous hedgehog looked. (Human teeth, anyone?) Somehow those changes worked with many embracing not only the new trailers but the movie itself. The famed blue hedgehog delights with his spastic and humorous personality in his big screen debut, but the real treat is seeing Jim Carrey bring back his unique, chaotic style of comedy that made him a household name in the 90s (thanks to comedy classics like "Ace Ventura" and "Dumb and Dumber"). In this episode, we're joined by special guest Aaron Carson (Neal's brother and arch-nemesis) to talk about how "Sonic the Hedgehog" ranks amongst other video game "adaptations" (you happy, Aaron?). Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes!
19 May 2020 | Revisiting Ep 75: James Bond vs Mission Impossible | 01:01:22
We're throwing it back to 2018 for our James Bond vs Mission Impossible epic throwdown. Enjoy! In honor of the release of Mission: Impossible - Fallout, we're pitting Ethan Hunt and team up against that other kinda famous spy franchise. That's right, we're talking about Bond...James Bond. This is IMF vs MI6. It's MI6 vs M:I6. Tom Cruise vs...a bunch of guys. Neal is dead certain 007 is the obvious winner, citing iconic portrayals by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. But Thiago and Nick aren't having any of that. Each has valid points but it just depends on who can shout their's the loudest. 16 May 2017 | Ep 13: The Brilliance of Christoper Nolan/The Future of VR | 00:33:12
The guys argue over the brilliance of Christoper Nolan and his body of work. Thiago has some bones to pick with his style. They even have the nerve to debate whether he's more brilliant than Stanley Kubrick. Plus, what's the future of VR in film or does it even have a future? 31 Jul 2018 | Ep 76: Tom Cruise, The Legend - Part 1 | 00:56:43
With the undisputed success of Mission: Impossible – Fallout as well as his 56th birthday, July has turned into Tom Cruise month. Keeping in line with that theme we decided to take a look at his unparalleled and hyper impressive career. Cruise’s filmography reads like a list of the best of the best in cinema from the past 35 years. Infinitely quotable lines like “I feel the need, the need for speed!” and “I want the TRUTH!” are rampant throughout his career; as are equally iconic scenes like dancing in his underwear to “Old Time Rock and Roll” and acrobatically descending in silence to steal the NOC list in Mission Impossible. We’re covering all of his hits and rare misses including Risky Business, Top Gun, Cocktail, Rain Man, Far and Away and A Few Good Men in Part 1 of 2 of Tom Cruise, The Legend. This episode covers TC’s movies from 1981 – 1993. So, RUN, don’t walk, to Get 2 the Podcast. 25 Apr 2017 | Ep 10: Everything Wrong with the Star Wars Prequels/Everything Right with Rogue One | 00:26:41
In honor of the new Ep VIII trailer, the guys violently argue over what made the Star Wars prequels so bad. Plus, why was Rogue One so good and what should we expect from The Last Jedi? Check us out at Get2thePodcast.com and follow @get2thepodcast on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
10 Jul 2018 | Ep 73: Jamie Lee Curtis Returns to Halloween | 00:51:57
40 years after the original Halloween, Michael Meyers is back to kill, maim and scare the s--- out of anybody who crosses his path and those crazy enough to buy a ticket. Negating the existence of the sequels and reboots that came later, this Halloween sees Michael once again breaking out of a mental institution and coming face to face with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). They’ve ditched the brother/sister storyline and damsel in distress/scream queen persona. This time Laurie wants Michael to come for her - so she can kill him. The new Halloween trailer looks like they’ve nailed the tone of the original without feeling like a repeat. Shotgun pumping and knife-wielding Laurie is a refreshing update to the franchise’s main hero. In this episode we’re breaking down the trailer and discussing all of the highs and lows of each of the installments from the past 40 years. Whether you’re a fan of horror or film in general, you’ll enjoy listening to us geek out. Written by Danny McBride (yes that Danny McBride) and blessed by John Carpenter (who’s returning to score the flick), our money is on this being a modern horror classic. October 19th can’t come soon enough. Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
05 Mar 2019 | Ep 107: Steven Spielberg vs Netflix | 00:54:41
It's been reported that Steven Spielberg plans to address the Academy Board of Governors in an effort to change the rules on what may qualify for an Oscar nomination. Specifically, he wants to exclude anything that doesn't have at least a four week run in theaters. This would exclude recent nominees like the Netflix movie Roma and other movies that originate on streaming platforms. So with that being said, we have a lot of arguing to do. We each have opposing views on the subject, and while we do argue, we also engage in a more civil, intellectual debate. In other words, Nick doesn't yell at anybody in this episode. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.

03 Sep 2019 | Ep 133: How Endgame Became the #1 Movie of All Time | 00:36:08
Avengers: Endgame recently steamrolled its way into the #1 spot, knocking out James Cameron's Avatar for biggest box office haul. We break down how this amazing feat happened and whether the Marvel movie really deserved it. With Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5 in production is there a chance James "Can't Make a Bad Movie" Cameron can reclaim his position atop the leaderboard? There's no way to know for sure, but that doesn't stop us from speculating. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - @Get2theMovies - to stay updated on all new episodes.
14 Jan 2020 | Ep 152: Here's What We Thought of The Golden Globes | 00:31:11
With the Oscars nominations just announced, let's take one more look back at the Academy Awards' more fun sister ceremony - The Golden Globes. Ricky Gervais hosted for his fifth, and seemingly final time, so we were in for some edge-of-your-seat, try-not-to-squirm comedy. We also caught a glimpse of what the winners might look like at the Oscars, with Joaquin Phoenix winning for Joker and Quentin Tarantino winning for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (screenplay and film). Here's everything we thought about the star-studded night from Ricky Gervais's monologue to the winners and losers. 04 Sep 2018 | Ep 81: Who is Going to Save Bond 25? | 00:49:32
It seems the new 007 film is hitting some rough waters before it's even started shooting. So naturally we're going to talk about it and offer some solutions that will most likely be completely ignored. With the recent news that director Danny Boyle will no longer helm Bond 25, the whole franchise is now up in the air. The 25th installment in the popular British spy series was scheduled to start shooting in the next few months in an effort to make a November 8th 2019 release date. After losing its director, producers were forced to push the release date, which is now rumored to fall some time in summer 2020. All of this potentially jeopardizes Daniel Craig's involvement. A Bond veteran for the last 12 years, Craig has made it pretty clear that he no longer wants to play the titular role. So they need to hire a new director and potentially a new James Bond. Here we go! Make sure to check us out at Get2theMovies.com and follow @get2themovies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
13 Nov 2018 | Ep 91: Do We Love Movies Less As We Grow Older? | 00:57:23
"When you grow up, your heart dies." Ally Sheedy's character in The Breakfast Club may have been onto something when she uttered those famous cynical words. We decided to get into a deep discussion of this concept as it relates to movies. We asked each other questions like, "Do you stay loyal to movies when you grow up?" or "Do you hate movies you once loved as a kid?" 18 Feb 2020 | Ep 157: Is Lethal Weapon 5 a Good Idea? | 00:36:09
With recent news that "Lethal Weapon 5" is close to a green light, how could we not talk about it? We haven’t seen the OG Riggs and Murtaugh (Mel Gibson and Danny Glover respectively) on screen since "Lethal Weapon 4" in 1998, so this has got us hyped...kind of. The last installment felt like a proper send-off and bookend to the perfect buddy cop movie franchise and so it doesn’t seem like we really need a new one. That doesn’t mean the next one won’t be great. With series director, Richard Donner, set to direct, it definitely has potential. Now, if they bring Joe Pesci back, we’re definitely all in. 18 Dec 2018 | Ep 96: Why Die Hard is a Christmas Movie | 00:41:16
In this episode, we're going to attempt to settle the age-old argument of whether the classic action film Die Hard is or is not a Christmas movie. More specifically we answer the question, "Is the movie that launched Bruce Willis to A-list status a Christmas movie in the most traditional sense?" The short answer is yes. The long answer is...well, that's what we address in this episode. We lay out all of the stone-cold evidence as to why it belongs up there with holiday films like Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life and Home Alone. We make such astute observations as "John McCLane and Kevin McCallister are basically the same person." We also cover the allegorical aspects of the film (McLane and the movie itself embody the truest meaning of Christmas). If you're part of the 25% who believe this timeless classic is a Christmas movie, then allow us to add some more ammo to your arsenal. If you're one of the non-believers but are willing to hear us out, then listen in and try to have an open mind. "Listen to our podcast, we'll get together, have a few laughs." Steven Spielberg's newest blockbuster movie, Ready Player One, is set to feature a massive mash-up of pop culture characters from the last 40 years. But will the film add to the Spielberg legacy or detract from it? This, of course, must be debated and we have no problem doing just that. 28 Aug 2018 | Ep 80: How M. Night Shyamalan Got His Groove Back | 00:48:57
We're talking M. Night's Shyamalan's rebooted career and his biggest twist yet. Admit it, you never saw it coming! Starting in the late 90s with The Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan became synonymous with twist endings that were nearly impossible to figure out until they were already upon you. Like, Spielberg, his name alone could draw a large crowd on opening weekend. But after a string of hits like Unbreakable, Signs and The Village, something happened. The magic seemed to wear off. Movies like, The Happening, The Last Airbender and After Earth were universally panned, and suddenly the once lauded storyteller was looking at a legacy in jeopardy. He was counted out but it's at times like these that winners truly win. Seemingly out of nowhere he wrote and directed one of his best movie's to date - Split. Scary, fascinating and brilliant, the horror movie put M. Night Shyamalan back on the poster. Like his previous films, Split had twists you never saw coming, but none more satisfying than the very end. That end scene gave way to his newest movie, Glass - a sequel of sorts to Unbreakable and Split. The creation of a uniquely original extended universe outside of the Marvel or DC system, was his biggest twist of all. Steven Spielberg recently stated that Netflix movies should not be eligible for the Academy Awards. So of course we must debate this and occasionally yell at each other over our differing opinions. Our fierce argument leads us to ponder the question "Is Netflix ruining movies?" That of course leads to more yelling (and intelligent debate). Enjoy!
