Patrick walks us through how his ho-hum coming out led to one of the funniest jokes on the episode, why Ellen was going to tell the world she was gay, the backstage fear and joy from the momentous event, dealing with homophobia, why the show changed the rules in a variety of ways, and being a Lil Abner singing gay cowboy on a dusty trail.
