Join Dave and Scott’s good friend Gabriel as they talk about Scott’s interview. Plus, this week we introduce a new feature: our “Lunch Time Poll” (an homage to the movie HEATHERS!) After he moved to Seattle and came out, he wasted no time exploring the gay scene including an adventure with some foot fetish enthusiasts. Join Dave and guest co-host Micah as they share thoughts on Mikey’s interviews including reminiscing about their early TV crushes (Dave: CHiPs, Micah: Baywatch). 05 Nov 2019 | Episode 11 - “Dolly Parton Made Ryan Gay” with co-host Pete | 00:43:00
Ryan’s queer tastes were first inspired by his mom’s obsession with Dolly Parton and her habit of re-watching The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, so it may come as no surprise that Burt Reynolds had a little something to do with his preference for hairy men. After his brother taught him to search for porn on the internet, Ryan eventually used OK Cupid to arrange his “first time” at a less-than-amazing hotel near downtown Seattle. Join Dave and co-host Pete as they talk about this episode’s Lunch Time Poll: What’s Your Favorite Position? Share your answers on our Twitter feed @fruitbowlpod! Dave and Pete also compare internet search strategies when it comes to porn. Also discussed: gay bars and the function they serve in queer communities; when to make yourself vulnerable when hooking up; masculinity vs. femininity in men. Wanna be interviewed? 10 Nov 2019 | Episode 12 - “Jon Goes A-Camping” with co-host Mikey | 00:49:00
This episode’s Lunchtime Poll explores the single most important debate for our modern age: Is it “Yuck” or “Yum” when a partner shoves his or her tongue in your ear during sex. Leave it to Fruitbowl to ask the tough questions. What do you think? Tweet us your answer at @fruitbowlpod Join Dave and guest co-host Mikey as they dish about sex and this week’s featured interviewee, Jon. Jon grew up in Idaho and knew about sex at an early age. Fearing a paternity suit from his pillow, Jon eventually moved on to experiment with real people and discovered a high school friend also wanted to explore more than just nature during a weekend camping trip and, after a three year relationship with a woman failed to “cure” him, Jon decided to jump into the deep end of the D-pool. For his “Best Move,” Jon describes his unique ability to “read” his partners and find the things that turn them on. Our co-host Mikey can personally vouch for his skills. ;) Having survived abusive relationships, Jon has learned over the years that body positivity goes a long way in finding healthy relationships and avoiding toxic personalities who can prey on insecurities. He also has sage advice for young gays: lube, lube, lube. 17 Nov 2019 | Episode 13 - “Getting to the Bottom of Things With Pete” and co-host Tyler | 00:50:00
Join Dave and guest co-host Tyler as they listen to Pete’s interview and get inspired to wade into the deep end (so to speak) and discuss the nitty gritty realities of bottoming. Be warned, this is not a conversation for those who are squeamish about butt stuff. Pete is from Lancaster County, PA and was teased early on for not knowing what a BJ was. It means you get pleasure from blowing on things, right? Isn’t that how the sex works? After experiencing a three-way with a guy and a girl from his high school theater class, Pete eventually landed solidly in the D column and ventured out on his own during college to a Boston gay bar where he met Alan, a less-than-patient top. Thankfully, he got the hang of things and now enjoys being a guest star with gay couples who like to play together. Tyler and Dave discuss Pete’s interview and their play-by-play game plan for having sex with both first time and experienced bottoms that make a pleasant experience for everyone involved. 14 Feb 2020 | S2E1 - Jerusha's Burrito Date | 00:44:31
Originally from the small conservative town of Puyallup, Washington, Jerusha took her time exploring her sexuality during her adolescence. In her first year of high school, she dated a guy who she later found out was gay. There were also a few hesitant explorations into queer sex (bathroom sex, stolen kisses with a cheerleader) but she didn’t come out fully until college. Jerusha has some advice for anyone - gay, straight or anyone in between - who is looking to improve their game. One story includes getting hot and heavy with a potential mate and then realizing they weren’t compatible in bed - something we can all identify with! Finally, Jerusha has some solid tips for anyone dating and looking for love: be true to yourself and feel secure about your abilities and your boundaries. In this first episode of our second season, we unveil a new format that features an informal conversation with Dave and an in-studio guest that comes AFTER the featured interview. Join us, won’t you? 21 Feb 2020 | S2E2 - Aditya Finds His Tribes | 01:07:00
Join Dave and his guest Tom following our featured interview as they discuss Tom’s new soon-to-be-released queer hook up app, HANKIES (@hankies96) which was inspired by the famous hankie code used by gay men in the early days of gay liberation. But first… This episode’s main event features Aditya who sat for an interview in October of 2019 in New York City. Raised in Hyderbad, India, Aditya didn’t come out until his second year of college in New Delhi. Luckily his family and friends accepted him, but an awkward experience he had at a bath house in Hong Kong served as a reminder that queer people can often be as racist and socially elitist as straight people. Over the years, Aditya has learned to follow his instincts as he has navigated his journey from India to New York City. It hasn’t been easy, but he eventually found his tribe. 28 Jun 2020 | S2E11 - Adé: Non-Binary Alien | 00:43:00
Growing up in Denver with a large, complex family, Adé got an early education in sex when they discovered their parents banging it out on the washing machine. During adolescence, Adé explored with both boys and girls and discovered very different reactions when adults discovered the experimentation. Luckily, an early sexual relationship with a neighbor, Quentin, became a safe, lasting partnership when it came to exploring sex. After an unimaginable loss, Adé started to use sex as a distraction. A move to Seattle inspired a new start in learning how to integrate sex into relationships instead of just meaningless hook ups.
Adé asked to give a signal boost to Seattle’s own Black Lives Matter organization. Learn more at: https://blacklivesseattle.org/
Cliff Notes: In case any of you don’t know who Taylor Dayne is, she was an 80s pop diva with a big voice and a few club hits to her name, including her biggest hit, Tell It To My Heart.

24 Dec 2020 | S3E1 - Josh, 43. Houston, TX | 00:52:25
Growing up in a house full of beautiful, angry women. Showering with a neighborhood bully and hooking up with an Amry guy in Manilla who is even hotter than his profile pics. These are just a few of the topics Josh discusses in this Season 3 premiere episode of FRUITBOWL!
For those of you who have listened to seasons 1 and 2, you’ll notice a new, stripped down format. Why? Put simply, all the extra host content took time to write, record, edit and mix and all of that stuff was likely content that listeners would skip over to get to the featured interview. So I decided to axe all that extra stuff and just focus my attention to what I am most passionate about: sharing the coming of age stories and sexual education of queer people.
I’m also excited to introduce Saira B. as the new voice of FRUITBOWL!
I’m hopeful that this new format will allow me the ability to produce more episodes, too. Let me know what you think!
I may bring back the “Getting Fresh” episodes once in a while to be more chatty and topical.
Here’s a trailer to Josh’s movie that he references in the end of his interview:

31 Dec 2020 | S3E2 - Alan, 39. NYC | 00:55:48
This week’s featured interview requested an audio-only interview and asked that his real name not be used and with good reason. “Alan” was excommunicated from his family and church and has been fired three different times because of his sexuality. Needless to say, growing up Mormon in places like California’s conservative hotbed of the Inland Empire and rural Idaho has not been easy. But these challenges have made Alan a fighter and a survivor. He now lives in New York City and has the freedom he’s always wanted. He’s even helped create a community of “nudies” who enjoy clothes-free social events.

10 Jan 2021 | S3E3 - Deaunte, 34. Seattle | 00:51:37
Deaunte grew up on the “souf” end of Seattle and lives just a few minutes away from Rainer Beach High School where he graduated high school. But between now and then he’s lived in Florida, Philly and Washington DC which was the first place he lived where he regularly met black gay doctors, politicians and, most importantly, activists. Since learning of his HIV positive status and surviving a meth addiction, Deaunte has committed giving back to his community by being honest about his journey. But this openness doesn’t always translate into easy relationships. But Deaunte is a survivor.

29 Jan 2021 | S3E4 - Nathan, 37. San Francisco | 00:48:41
I have a deep archive of interviews I am turning into podcast episodes and I'm planning on working hard this year to share them with you. I confess to not knowing what order I will share them. I kind of make it up as I go along. But after finishing the first three for this season, I knew we needed to hear from someone who DIDN'T grow up in a hostile and/or religious fundamentalist environment.
But just because Nathan's mom accepted his sexuality from the very beginning - and at a young age - that doesn't mean he hasn't had his share of challenges. One major obstacle Nathan has experienced is his recurring psoriasis and finding partners who can look past the occasional outbreak.
Nathan also has some fun thoughts and stories about cruising. Just listening to his past adventures makes me hopeful that, eventually, there will come a time when we can flirt out in the open and meet each other in public and maybe even have sex spontaneously without the fear of a pandemic.

11 Feb 2021 | S3E5 - Paul, 61. Chicago | 01:02:49
As a gay man who came of age in the 70s, Paul has had a front row seat for the highs of the sexual revolution, the excesses of the 80s as well as the lows of the AIDS crisis.
A self-described “snoop,” Paul discovered a sex manual in his parents bedside nightstand drawer and, as an early bloomer, experimented with masturbation from an early age. After a struggle with addiction, Paul rediscovered the joy and affirmation of masturbation and decided to start his own jack-off club in Seattle after experiencing the meaningful connection to community at Chicago’s JO club.
Other juicy subjects include: sex with a frisky high school girlfriend; a discussion about long term relationship and monogamy; and the power of the post-coital cuddle.

07 Mar 2021 | S3E6 - Salvador, 39. Oakland | 00:57:46
Salvador (who identifies as genderqueer and uses he, she and they pronouns) was raised in Whittier, California, between LA and Orange County. Growing up, he didn’t know that their twin was also queer, so most of her sexual explorations were conducted in secret: checking out queer erotic fiction and books about gay sex at the library and cruising the local mall’s bathrooms.
The summer between their first year and sophomore year of high school, he struck up a romantic friendship with a football player from her high school, but things quickly fell apart once the school year started again in the fall. An important friendship with another high school outcast helped her get through the final years of high school.
But, once he graduated and went to college, they decided to be out and proud. His first time having sex with the “full menu” was with a more experienced local man who patiently guided Salvador through a sexual initiation that was both sensual and practical.
After the death of her father, Salvador went through a period of sex and drug addiction but decided to seek treatment and, since then, has grown to prioritize connection and intimacy with their husband and other sex partners.
18 Mar 2021 | S3E7 - Tai, 34. NYC | 00:34:41
Raised in Connecticut, Tai was often singled out by other kids because of his Chinese heritage. His parents split up when he was young and his mom came out as a lesbian which, predictably, made his own coming out pretty smooth with his mom and her partner but not so easy with his dad.
Even though he knew he was gay pretty early on, Tai didn't have sex until college and, once he bottomed for his first boyfriend, he just kept on doing it until later in his 20s when he got the hang of topping. He has some solid advice for what to do to help a bottom make the most of his internal orgasm.
Tai advises younger gays to make the most of their sexy times and encourages older gays not to take advantage of them. Also, it's best not to have sex with sketchy guys and, if you’re uncomfortable with how a hook up is going, it's okay to peace out and walk away.

25 Mar 2021 | S3E8 - Shavit, 31. Israel/NYC | 00:54:02
Shavit was raised on a jewish Moshav in Israel and knew from an early age that he preferred men. When he came of age, his dad took him on a week-long road trip in Europe in order to have “the talk.” The week ended in a Roman hotel room with access to porn. But even though sex wasn't stigmatized in his communal community, being gay was definitely not embraced as an option.
Fortunately, Shavit’s parents shipped him off to Jewish camp in the states every summer during his high school years. This "saved his life" as Shavit describes it. He bought gay porn in Penn station on his way to camp and, once there, no one was older than 25 and there was very little supervision. Soon, he told his girlfriends he was gay and even hooked up with a fellow camper when he returned home to Israel.
Once graduated, Shavit moved to NYC and eventually travelled the world and met his first love while on a hike in the Himalayas. Currently, he is dabbling in DIY porn and continues to travel and have sexy adventures including visiting Dore Alley and Seattle's TRC campground (pre-COVID).

01 Apr 2021 | E4 - GETTING FRESH with FRUITBOWL: Meet Saira B. & Season 3 Update | 00:33:33
19 Apr 2021 | S3E9 - Erik, 43. Tacoma, WA | 00:28:00
Erik came out early to a supportive family and an older sister who was also gay, but it took him a while to find his queer crew: one that honored creativity and alternative options for a gay kid who didn’t necessarily fit into the typical identity of musicals and Madonna. Instead, Prince was an early influence on Erik’s queer life in addition to his musical tastes.
An unrequited love in high school proved difficult to shake. Fortunately, Erik’s best friend, a lesbian, convinced him to snap out of it and move on after heartache. In adulthood, Erik learned to abandon the heteronormative, rom-com mode of thinking and learn to let love be love and not try to control it or force it to be something that it’s not.
In addition to being this episode’s interviewee, Erik also provided all the original music cues featured in this episode. Below is a list of all the tracks used in this episode. Find out more at Erik’s bandcamp profile. Big thanks to Erik for letting Fruitbowl use his amazing music to give this episode an extra-special creative identity.
Opener - “Transition #1” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Transition 1 - “Canon #3” from “Canons, Vol.1.”
Transition 2&3 - “Canon #4” from “Canons, Vol. 1.”
Transition 4 - “Transition #2” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Transition 5&6 - “The Meeting” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Transition 7 - “Shut the Fuck Up” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Transition 8 - “Trains Passing” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Transition 9 - “The Ghost In Our House” from “Music from the film Center of Gravity.”
Closing Credits - “Something, Please” from “Canons, Vol. 1”

02 May 2021 | S3E10 - Alex, 36. Long Island | 00:41:26
Alex grew up in Huntington, NY on Long Island for the first part of his adolescence and, at first, it almost seemed like a fairy gay-mother was watching out for him: a gay-friendly sex education class; a meaningful introduction to a trans woman; and a promising acknowledgement of gay life from his mom were all early examples of acceptance of gay life. But things with his family soon went south when they moved to Florida and in his early 20s he had to separate from them and make his own way.
His first time with a guy came one day on his way back to college and, over the years, he’s had time to do some deep diving when it comes to experimenting with long edging sessions. Alex also has a very specific “best move” that only he can explain but it’s definitely worth taking notes.

21 Jun 2021 | S3E11 - Elliott, 27. Portland | 00:52:29
Elliott was raised in Caspar, Wyoming and has packed a lot of living in their 27 years including their own coming out, marriage, divorce, navigating their gender journey as well as figuring out their relationship to their faith, kink and the apps. Elliott also has a lot to say about the act of "squirting" and how to achieve it with a willing partner and also best practices for negotiating intimacy with cis men who might not be experienced with sex with trans people. We also decided that Elliott's very specific best move should be called "The Unicorn."

04 Jul 2021 | S3E12 - Patrick, 32. Ojai, CA | 00:33:32
You'd think living 2 hours from LA would provide plenty of opportunities for a queer kid to explore queer culture; but when you live in a trailer on an abandoned citrus orchard with limited introductions to other people and spotty internet, eighty miles can seem like a million.
Nonetheless, Patrick eventually learned about sex and found other queer people, in spite of his mom's objections. A first experience with a mustached stranger from craigslist left a deep impression and, ever since, Patrick has had a taste for sex outside of the formalities of the bedroom. One memorable hook up was atop a 50 ft. waterfall.
Now he lives in Northern Cali and supports himself as an artist and filmmaker. In fact, Patrick is the artist behind FRUITBOWL's delicious season 3 fruit illustrations. You can check out more of his very sexy bear art at https://bearpadart.weebly.com/

31 Jul 2021 | S3E13 - Nathan S., 29. Portland | 01:11:00
Nathan's story is, at once, extremely unique and totally relatable in that he comes from an Egyptian-American family but was raised in an insular Christian community in New Jersey where being gay was a red line that was not to be crossed. The youngest of his family with two much-older sisters, Nathan didn’t always fit in as the leader of his high school bible club. Fortunately, his best friend, Michelle, was the leader of the school’s Straight/Gay Alliance. Years later, Stephen would ask Michelle why she didn’t call him out as a closet case in high school. “Because that’s what the bullies were saying,” was her brilliant response. Then, she took him to The Cock in downtown New York City and … well you can listen and find out what happened next.
BTW, if you want another story from The Cock, you can listen to Adam’s episode (S2E3).
This interview was recorded in August of 2020 during a very small window in the Pandemic when restrictions were eased temporarily. This trip to Portland was the only excursion I took outside of Seattle during the shutdown.

12 Aug 2021 | S3E14 - Ryan C., 37. San Francisco | 00:28:30
For those of us who are more, ahem, “mature”, being out and proud during our adolescence was just not an option - especially in Colorado where Ryan spent most of his coming of age years. In his interview, Ryan does a good job of articulating what it’s like when your body tells you you’re gay before you can even admit it to yourself. Sometimes surprising things can happen when a Tony Little VHS tape is near by. Ryan also describes being a part of Gainer culture and the different ways our bodies can be extensions of erotic desire that are not just about genitals and sexual performance.

26 Aug 2021 | S3E15 - Karilla, 28. Portland | 01:10:23
Karilla’s story, in so many ways, reflects the common stages of personal growth that so many queer people go through: in our early years, insecurity about our sexuality and adults who fail to help guide us; during high school, sitting on the sidelines and watching as our friends perform all the typical hetero coming of age rituals; in college, painful memories about first love and the lessons we learn from heartbreak; and choosing our family and finally accepting and loving ourselves. And did I mention that she’s had some really fun hookups?
In my introduction to this episode, I talk a little bit about my efforts to interview more female-identified people. It’s my hope that, over time, as the FRUITBOWL episode archive grows, more cis women will hear episodes like Karilla’s and trust me with their stories. In fact, I’m determined to collect at least 20 interviews with female-identified interviewees before I even think of starting to edit the larger FRUITBOWL feature or TV series. So if you or someone you know is femme identified and interested in sharing, please reach out to me via the contact portal on the https://www.fruitbowlpodcast.com/contact.

26 Sep 2021 | S3E16 - Dan, 46. Seattle | 01:08:55
Dan grew up just north of Seattle and his adolescence was uniquely queer-positive in that it featured supportive parents and plentiful queer friends even in high school. But Dan had his share of challenges including insecurities about sexual performance, penis size and a long journey to discovering his preference for polyamorous relationships.
An early education in flirting came courtesy of a friendly dominatrix. And Dan describes some fun role playing as a "boy" with his Daddy and Big Brother partners (who are both younger than he is). Dan also provides a super-detailed, step by step description of his cleaning out process that's his "me" time and allows him to be the best bottom that he can be.

12 Oct 2021 | S3E17 - Andre, 31. Chicago | 01:07:00
Andre can’t remember a time when people thought he was straight. Raised as a girl by an independent single mom who took a “tough love” approach to parenting, Andre grew up with a rich inner life but had few friends. “Lesbean” was the preferred insult in grade school, so Andre made up a fictional boyfriend in order to avoid talking about sex.
Even after entering college and coming out as trans, Andre identified as asexual until he met his first girlfriend when they were the only ones who showed up to a sober vegan pride after party.
It wasn’t until he moved to Chicago and lived alone that Andre realized he was free to explore sex on his own terms. He informed himself about kink, explored bathhouses for the first time and his first experience bottoming came from an unexpected guide.
Now that he has more experience under his belt, Andre has decided to stop being the token “first trans male experience” for sex partners and has dedicated himself to being a sex-positive advocate for trans rights.
Andre is Producing Desire Lines, an expansive portrait of a trans-inclusive gay community across several generations, artfully weaving together never-before seen archival footage, historical fiction, contemporary interviews, and re-enactments. The bathhouse is the central hub of the film, where past and present meet, where fantasies unfold, and where the archives spring to life through historical fiction. The diverse participants share their fantasies and fears about sex, bodies, relationships, and power through intimate conversations shot in their own domestic spaces. The same contemporary interview participants are also invited to write, embody, and perform their own bathhouse-related fantasies in moments that cleave open a space between fiction and reality, emphasizing fantasy as a powerful tool for seeing ourselves else wise. 03 Nov 2021 | S3E18 - Donovan, 46. San Diego | 00:56:16
As a kid, Donovan loved to dance and even took lessons beginning at age 9, but growing up in San Diego, he soon realized that the many military bases in the area fueled a toxic culture of masculinity and homophobia and any behavior outside the norm put a target on his back. Once, after seeing a movie, he was called a faggot and assaulted. So even though he had some early experimentation with same sex intimacy, he didn't officially come out until college.
Married now and living in Palm Springs, Donovan is in a committed, non-monogamous relationship but, even as an experienced lover, he still has had struggles with consent and standing up for himself. He describes one time when a partner didn't respect his boundaries.
Donovan has some great advice when it comes to hook ups, preferring connection over speed and convenience. Kissing and eye contact is sexy and - trust him - don't ever use Vaseline as lube.

24 Nov 2021 | S3E19 - Mike, 33. Austin, TX | 01:26:06
As a first generation Vietnamese-American, Mike felt an obligation to make the most of his opportunities that his immigrant parents fought so hard to provide him. But even though his family was part of a robust Vietnamese community in Sugarland, TX (a suburb of Houston), Mike still felt like an outsider. Unlike most of his friends, he wasn’t fluent in Vietnamese and his emerging sexuality only made him feel more separated.
Even after leaving for college and coming out to his family, Mike maintained a rigid moral code and was skeptical of other queer people who had more loose definitions of relationships. It wasn’t until he lived in New York City that he became friends with other queer people who were in non-traditional partnerships. Now he lives in Seattle with his two boyfriends and most of his friends have very open perspectives when it comes to love, friendship, sex and relationships. In his 33 years, he’s come a long way from Sugarland.
Mike also has some amazing adventures to talk about including an eye-opening hook up with a dom top in Hong Kong and a sexy cross-country adventure to Canada that ends with a very important lesson when it comes to dildo selection.

08 Dec 2021 | S3E20 - Adam T., 37. Barre, VT | 01:00:58
Adam grew up in what he describes as a “Rated R household.” Prince was an early emissary of carnal pleasure who made a deep impact on Adam as a future professional musician. His parents split when he was 2 but his mom remarried and both his dad and his stepdad represented two different versions of masculinity. But homosexuality was still a taboo subject so Adam had to educate himself through early experimentation with friends and porn. After graduation, instead of coming out, he shut the door on his sexuality and locked it up tight in order to focus on his goal of becoming a concert pianist. But a post-undergrad, cross-country tour of small town America turned into an odyssey of gay sex that concluded with a move to Houston which he describes as “they gayest place” he’s ever lived.
A much sought-after interpreter of classic piano, Adam currently lives in Brooklyn with his husband and has come to believe that sexual pleasure is just as important to the soul as his artistic pursuit. You can read more about Adam’s post-undergrad odyssey in his memoir: 88x50: A Memoir of Sexual Discovery, Modern Music and The United States of America and his follow up, tidepools which is about his first few years as an artist in NYC.

24 Dec 2021 | S3E21 - Saira, 30. Wilmington, DE | 01:02:08
This episode features a voice that will be familiar with Fruitbowl fans: our very own host with the most, Saira B.! After just a few minutes of listening, you’ll soon learn why Saira (who, BTW, uses ALL the pronouns) is the perfect person to represent the amazing diversity of experiences of Fruitbowl interviewees.
Raised in Wilmington, Delaware to academic parents who trusted their kid to explore cities like Philly and NYC all by herself, Saira was always informed about his body’s different functions including how babies get made by a mom who valued clear communication about the science of the body. As they grew into adolescence, Saira applied this same academic curiosity to her interest in sex and kink and they have some great advice when it comes to exploring BDSM: make sure to inform yourself about the kinds of kink you want to explore, communicate with your partner or partners clearly and don’t assume that the top doesn’t also need aftercare.

27 Jan 2022 | S4E1 - Justin, 48. Providence, RI | 00:55:18
Raised by feminists who had strong opinions about women’s rights, pro-choice advocacy and lesbian visibility, Justin knew early on his sexuality wasn’t pre-determined. But even in liberal college-town Providence, RI he was a target of less-evolved classmates. When presented with his first opportunity for sex experimentation, he chose the D and hasn’t looked back.
But ambivalence about masculine tropes and romantic love kept him from finding community with other gay men. It wasn’t until he discovered the Hole In The Wall bar in San Francisco that Justin found his tribe and made lasting friendships including his partner of 20 years.
Justin has finally given in to his family’s tradition of higher education after years as an independent queer comics artist and a brief stint as an adult film performer. He recently finished work as a producer of NO STRAIGHT LINES, an award winning feature documentary about the rich history of queer comic creators. You can check out the trailer HERE.

Introducing the premiere episode of the Getting Fresh series reboot. For season four, these episodes will feature informal conversations with interviewees whose main Fruitbowl interviews are more than a year old.
In this episode Justin updates us about how his relationship with his husband has evolved during the pandemic and the accommodations that the couple has made for their “extra curricular” partners. We also touch on Fort Lauderdale’s Pig Week and Justin’s creative work as a comic creator and film producer.
But first, Dave introduces the first listener-submitted story from an old friend, Jason (S1E1). Jason shares a super sexy story about meeting an enthusiastic partner who has a thing for corn fields.

29 Mar 2022 | S4E3 - Ari, 33. Portland | 01:11:29
Ari grew up in Milwaukee until age 10 when his family moved to Tucson, AZ. The new environment brought him out of his shell in spite of being raised in a religious family. Raised as a girl, Ari had the most difficulty with his mom when it came to his family’s acceptance of his identity first as a lesbian, then as a trans man. Ultimately, Ari had to prioritize his own mental health and happiness over his mom’s objections about his “lifestyle.”
Eventually, he made his way to Portland, OR where he was able to find gender affirming healthcare and a larger dating pool where he suddenly had his choice of partners to explore different forms of intimacy including penetrative sex and kink play.

05 May 2022 | S4E4 - Drew, 39. Los Angeles | 00:53:27
Growing up in a small California town in the late 90s, Drew didn’t have any exposure to queer people or culture except for the brief mentions on broadcast sitcoms. NBC’s “Must See TV” was a particularly rich source of information. A secret relationship with another guy in his high school confirmed Drew’s budding sexuality but it wasn’t until college at UC Santa Barbara that he had his first legit boyfriend. Years later, a shocking discovery made him question their relationship but it also provided Drew an opportunity to forgive and move on instead of focusing on anger and regret.
Living in LA proved difficult when it came to his insecurities about his body image but a one night stand right before the pandemic provided Drew a new way of thinking about body acceptance and, since then, he’s embraced a new version of himself. Drews final advice: 1. Worry less about what other people think and 2. You don’t need a six pack to get laid.
Drew has turned his obsession of old sitcoms into his profession. He’s the co-host of the podcast “Gayest Episode Ever,” a show that explores the “very special” episodes of old sitcoms that feature queer characters and storylines. He and his co-host Glen discus each episode with deeply researched historical context and industry-insider knowledge. Learn more about it at www.gayestepisodeever.com.

19 May 2022 | S4E5 - Lilian, 36. Sedalia, CO | 00:49:10
Lilian grew up in Sedalia Colorado, a small community outside of Denver. Growing up, Lilian was a good little straight boy who judged other kids for having pre-marital sex.
It wasn’t until college in LA that Lilian began her journey into becoming a self-described non-binary, genderfluid transgender woman who is a solo-polyamorous, relationship-anarchist pansexual lesbian slut.
An advocate for sexual liberation, Lilian describes the unique sexual relationships she has with various friends. She also shares intimate details about her gender journey which includes two gender affirming surgeries in an effort to attain the body she has always wanted.

02 Jun 2022 | S4E6 - Kenny, 30. Hutchinson, KS | 00:54:07
Kenny is the definition of a survivor. After experiencing abuse by a family member and getting kicked out of the house by his single mom while still in high school, Kenny lived in his car until he decided to move in with his first boyfriend. A move to Chicago for a job seemed like an opportunity to start fresh until he was laid off and had to turn to sex work in order to support himself.
But despite all the challenges, he refuses to feel shame about his past and his sexuality. His advice: embrace all the different parts of your queerness: the masculine and the feminine; don’t let others dictate who you are and develop friendships with people who show you love.

16 Jun 2022 | S4E7 - Getting Fresh with Gayish - ORGIES | 00:56:45
In this Getting Fresh episode, Dave welcomes his in-studio guests: the creators of the Seattle-based Gayish podcast, Kyle and Mike and asks them about their podcast’s origin and its unique format: unpacking gay stereotypes one episode at a time. Then we listen to a listener-submitted story that describes the writer’s first time at an orgy and we discuss our own orgy adventures and our different experiences and expectations when it comes to group sex.
Speaking of group sex, the orgy story was narrated by Paul who was featured in Season 3, Episode 5 of Fruitbowl. Paul Rosenberg is a writer, singer, actor and production designer living in Seattle. He is the founder and manager of Rain City Jacks, a nonprofit jack-off club in Seattle, and creator of The Heart of Jacks Podcast, an interview show exploring sexuality with a focus on the history and culture of jack-off clubs. For more info about Rain City Jacks, visit raincityjacks.org. You can find Paul on the web at theheartofjacks.com, on Twitter @theheartofjacks, and follow The Heart of Jacks Podcast wherever you find podcasts.

30 Jun 2022 | S4E8 - Debra, 71. Palo Alto | 00:59:16
You might assume you don’t have much in common with a 71 year old lesbian, but consider these three points: 1. Debra came of age at the dawn of the sexual revolution; 2. She’s a legend in the lesbian kink community and has some really fun kink play stories; 3. She is a total badass and a one of a kind human.
Growing up in famously liberal Palo Alto, Debra was a precocious young woman, hungry for knowledge but a proposal from a “perfect” boyfriend in her 20s felt premature so she broke his heart and dove into the deep end of California 70s counterculture at UC Santa Cruz. Soon she was exploring the GLBT club and her sexuality was confirmed when she saw a gorgeous woman step off her motorcycle and reveal her long, luscious hair.
Since then, it’s been one adventure after another: New York, Seattle, LA. And the adventure continues to this day. Debra recently decided to leave LA, move into a van and travel the country visiting friends and making new ones. Check out this link for Route 70+, a charming short film by Nina Penzhorn that illustrates Debra’s journey.
Her final advice: have as much fun sex as you can so you can look back on it fondly when you’re old.

14 Jul 2022 | S4E9 - Puddin', 35. Atlanta | 01:08:54
Originally from a small town in Georgia, Puddin’s coming of age was divided in two. Outwardly, he was a devout Christian of the Pentecostal tradition and aspired to be a church leader and during sermons, homosexuality was always used as an example of the worst kind of sin. Privately, though, he struggled with his sexuality and was the target of abuse by a family member.
After his family found out, he tried several different faith-based solutions for “curing” himself and, in the process, met other queer people like him for the first time in his life. A gay friend in college encouraged Puddin’ to consider - just maybe - that God didn’t hate him for being gay and, eventually, he left the church and moved to a gay commune where he learned how to live off the grid and love himself.

28 Jul 2022 | S4E10 - Mike B., 69. NYC | 01:00:48
Gay men had a lot of variables to balance while coming of age in the 70s and 80s: the sexual revolution & liberation, drug culture, AIDS, social stigma and intimacy and Coming out wasn’t easy while he was working on Wall Street. Through all of it, Mike tried to stay true to himself while figuring out that, as sexual beings, we are in a constant state of evolution.
Later in life, Mike became a leader and activist, sitting on executive boards of many national gay organizations. Now he dedicates himself to educating and learning from younger generations via his popular Instagram account (@bammer47), a YouTube channel and podcast. His hope is that, by engaging with different generations will bring us all closer together.
Sounds a lot like what I try to do with Fruitbowl which makes it so amazing that Mike agreed to contribute his history to our archive. I know you'll find a lot to relate to with his story.

08 Sep 2022 | S4E11 - Andrew, 31. Philadelphia | 01:16:45
Listen on Apple Podcasts Listen on Spotify
Andrew was a self-described baby drag queen when he was little, putting on makeup and heels and performing for his parents. So when he told his mom at age 10 he was gay, her reaction was, “I know. Do you still wanna go to the mall?”
But just because Andrew was out didn’t mean adolescence was a walk in the park. A self-described awkward kid, he struggled with ADHD and anxiety. At age 8 he was sexually abused at a theater camp and, in his teens, started acting out by abusing substances. His parents admitted him into a “troubled teen” facility in Utah which was further traumatizing.
Originally recorded in 2019, this episode also features a “follow-up” interview recorded just one month ago that finds Andrew in a much more secure place now. Currently, he’s proud to work at Nacy Warner Associates, a social justice consulting and advocacy non-profit in Albany, New York.
Andrew is also a gifted musician. This episode features one of his songs, The Man I Am. You can learn more about his music at www.iamsynes.com.

06 Oct 2022 | S4E13 - Lizzie, 29. Seattle | 00:55:51
Lizzie grew up in super-liberal Seattle with super-cool, neo-hippie parents who had lots of queer friends and didn’t bat an eye when Lizzie let them know that she was … not straight. Lizzie took the lead when it came to her first time with a guy and you’ll enjoy hearing about her other adventures with a girl from her gym, an Irish bartender and a French Canadian who swept her off her feet - enough for her to risk being detained by Canadian police at the border. When she was young, Lizzie also had a very special relationship with a water jet at her swimming pool.
Originally recorded in December of 2019, Lizzie’s interview covers a lot of ground. Also featured in this episode: a follow-up interview recorded just a few weeks ago with editor Danny Tayara followed by a super-cool song from Lizzie’s band, Creature Hole!

20 Oct 2022 | S4E14 - Steven M., 50. Tucson, AZ | 01:09:11
Steven grew up in his “shit-kicking” town of Tucson, AZ and even though it was liberal compared to the rest of the state, he was still a target for bullies because of his lisp and his habit of staring at other guys in the locker room. But summer adventures with his Dad in Ojai, CA taught him that a wondrous queer world waited for him outside of Tucson.

03 Nov 2022 | S4E15 - Dave, 49. Derby, KS | 01:32:01
Fruitbowl’s creator and producer, Dave Quantic, provides his first full-length Fruitbowl interview in this “very special” episode hosted by editor Ryan Weadon.
Dave’s sexual orientation came into focus early on while growing up in small-town, suburban Kansas in the late eighties, but the only place he could meet other queer people was cruising bathrooms and public parks in near-by Wichita. An assault and HIV scare inspired him to come out in college and, eventually, to his family.
Since then, he’s lived in Dallas, New York City, Los Angeles and Seattle and, along the way, his preferences for negotiating love, sex and friendship have diverged from conventional ideas about relationships. It’s only in the last few years that he’s figured out what he wants and how he wants to live as a gay man.

23 Nov 2022 | S4E16 - Zachery, 24. Seattle | 01:00:18
When I was preparing to record my intro to Zachery’s episode, I started to compose a long reflection on the recent tragedy in Colorado Springs where a 22 year old monster with a rife decided to murder 5 innocent people in a gay bar, but every attempt I made trying to articulate my rage and sadness seemed trite and cliché. So I decided to simply dedicate this episode to the victims.
Some listeners might wonder why I don’t have more famous people on Fruitbowl and the reason is simple: famous people are not very relatable. I prefer to feature stories of everyday people; queer people who have found a way to be themselves and live without apology. Many have escaped abusive homes, parents, communities and found new families who love them for who they are. The saddest part of tragedies like the one in Colorado is reading the obituaries of the people whose lives were cut short by hate and violence. They are almost always described as caring, compassionate, fun to be around and I have no doubt that is true. They sound like the kind of people I would have loved to interview for Fruitbowl and it breaks my heart that I will never be able to hear their stories.
I hope you can honor the lives of those we have lost to anti-queer violence by fiercely living your truth and continuing to love whomever you want to love, regardless of their gender, gender expression, race, income, age, background, culture. That’s what queer people before us have fought so hard for and there’s really no better way to tick off the bullies - the monsters with rifles and the politicians who encourage them - who try to silence us.
And now, back to my regularly scheduled introduction:
If you’re a kinkster or interested in exploring kink, you’re gonna love Zachery’s interview. Even though he’s only 24, Zachery has explored a wide variety of sexual activities that fall far outside of the definition of “vanilla” and he’s had a lot of fun adventures along the way. He also brings with him a background in public health and sexual advocacy as well a stint working at Doghouse Leathers, Seattle’s local queer sex shop.
Originally from small town Michigan where he came out to his family and friends at age 16, Zachery came to Washington for academics and exploring his ever-expanding taste for adventurous sex. You might even say he’s a sex explorer.

Listen on Apple Podcasts Listen on Spotify
John C. has had an unpredictable professional career and sexual history. He grew up in the deep south with racist family members and neighbors. Sexual experimentation with a friend happened early on, but, later, in college, things got complicated when a coworker raped John after a night of drugs and drinking.
Jealous partners during his years as an aerobics instructor and boyfriends who didn't "get" his drag performance were additional obstacles. But through it all, John has maintained his irrepressible spirit and laser sharp humor which he expresses most clearly through his amazing drag persona, Connie. He even talks a little about Connie being a guest on RuPaul's Drag Race. Here’s a link to the appearance during Season 11: https://youtu.be/OjG4_k6L6GA?t=335

29 Dec 2022 | S4E18 - Breona, 34. Mt. Vernon, WA | 01:10:44
Breona is a professional sex therapist and author who lives not far from her hometown of Mt. Vernon, WA: home to the annual tulip festival. Growing up, Breona didn’t have many resources to answer her questions about sex. An early investigation to online porn was discovered by her parents and inspired her mother to have The Talk with her, but questions remained about being “in love” and responding to her body’s sexual instincts. College provided opportunities to finally dive into the “full menu” of sex, but she eventually realized she wasn’t enjoying sex so much as performing it for her partners.
Coming out and finally having conversations about pleasure with her partners inspired her to become a sex therapist and help others discover themselves. One way she’s done that is by writing The Clitarus Chronicles, a humorous and educational story about Clitty: an adorable, clitoris-shaped, cartoon dinosaur with the dream to write a novel but needs help figuring out the climax. The book features a meaningful metaphor about prioritizing pleasure and communication with partners and it’s illustrated by Fruitbowl’s multi-talented editor, Danny Tayara! Learn more about Breona’s professional counseling practice at www.colorful-therapy.com.
Breona's story brings us to the conclusion of Fruitbowl's Season 4. I will be taking a hiatus in January to recharge and make a plan for next year's production. We are currently without a sponsor so I will also spend time pitching to potential sponsors.

07 Dec 2023 | S5E2 - Origins Vol.2: Our Flawed Fathers | 01:11:40
There are as many cliches about fatherhood as there are about queer people. Dads are little league coaches, the leaders of prayers, the final word in family debates, trusted voices of wisdom who guide their children through adolescence and prepare them for adulthood. Join Dave as he introduces a chorus of queers who describe their complex relationships with their fathers and what their patriarchs did (or didn’t do) when they found themselves in charge of kids who drew outside the lines of the typical heteronormative behavior.

21 Dec 2023 | S5E3 - Origins Vol.3: Mother's Nature | 01:10:43
Femininity and queerness go hand in hand; that’s the conventional wisdom, anyway. So it follows that our mom’s should be supportive, non-judgmental, embracing of our idiosyncrasies and accepting of children who don’t conform to conventional expectations of gender. But it doesn’t always work out that way. In this episode, Dave introduces a collection of stories about moms who teach us, disappoint us and, occasionally, surprise us.

Many of us grew up in families and communities that never once acknowledged the existence of queer people: no exposure to queer authors, filmmakers, artists. Pornography is often the first media we see that acknowledges queer sexuality. In this episode, you will hear stories of pornography found under rocks, in dumpsters, behind medicine cabinets. Grainy, distorted porn that emerged from scrambled cable channels. Porn that validated feelings that may have been impossible to articulate. Porn that provided a starting point to begin deciding what turns us on and what doesn’t.

America’s puritanical roots are never more exposed than they are when the subject of "self-love" is discussed or, more often, avoided by schools and parents. Some religions explicitly discourage it. But when it comes to our coming of age years, coming is often top of mind and a favored topic in the backs of school buses, online chats and locker rooms.
"Self-love" is an intensely personal experience that can often reveal our sexual preferences producing euphoria as well as deep personal shame. This episode features stories about "self-love" and the stew of emotions it often conjures up as well as some awkward social situations.

09 May 2024 | S5E8 - Firsts Vol.2: High School Hookups, Part 1 | 01:18:18
For queer people, our sexuality is not something that just switches on one day. It reveals itself over time - usually during adolescence - and the experience is often internal and private. Our first explorations into physical intimacy with other people often serve as a kind of test to see if we like it and help us start to define the role that sex will play in our lives as adults. High school is “go time” for these explorations and life quickly becomes a steaming stew of hormones, insecurities and hurt feelings. These first experimentations with friends or acquaintances and people that we know happen to many of us, yet we rarely share these stories with each other as adults.
In this first of four episodes dedicated to first times, Dave collects stories from thirteen different interviewees whose first time was with people they already knew. Next up will be another high school episode followed by one about internet hookups and a fourth “first time” episode that collects stories about old-school “cruising.” So prepare yourself because things are going to get … awkward.
Here’s a list of excerpts featured in this episode along with a link to their full length episode.
Section 1: AFAB First Times. Ji (S2E5) First PIV; Isabella (S2E9) German Boyfriend, Sleepovers With Open Door; Lizzie (S4E13) First Time Boring Boyfriend, First Time Gym Girl.

23 May 2024 | S5E9 - Firsts Vol.3: High School Hookups, Part 2 | 01:14:38
As I was building this second high school hookup episode, I realized that many of the stories have striking similarities. People who grew up thousands of miles apart, often in different decades, had similar coming of age experiences. So I decided to create an entire episode featuring story pairs that are like fun-house reflections of each other; further proof that, even though queer adolescence is often full of deep insecurity and loneliness, there is likely someone out there who is going through the same thing you are.
Here’s a list of excerpts featured in this episode along with a link to their full length episode.
Section 1: Camping Adventures. Jon (S1E12) & Adam T. (S3E20)
Section 2: Exploring communities outside of high school. Dan (S3E16) & Salvador (S3E6)
Section 3: Playful flirtations evolve into something more. Anders (S2E6) & Saira (S3E21)
Section 4: Bad boys who feel good. Kenny (S4E6) & Andrew (S4E11)
Section 5: Falling for step-siblings & discouraging hookups. Steven M. (S4E14) & Donovan (S3E18)
Section 6: Transitioning from high school to college. Justin (S4E1) & Paul (S3E5)

13 Jun 2024 | S5E10 - Firsts Vol.4: Internet Hookups | 01:11:32
There’s a tendency to devalue first times that come as a result of the internet. There’s no meet-cutes; no love at first sight. The getting-to-know-you window happens on your device. Most of them are one-offs we will never see ever again. But, like it or not, this is the way most of us find first time partners now though there are signs that dating apps are losing users and people are starting to rely more on in-person opportunities.
The most compelling part of first time internet hookups is when we finally act on the desire that burns deep inside of us and we decide to finally follow through. Expectation collides with reality. We might meet sex partners who have the potential to excite us and fulfill all of our fantasies or they could be spectacular flame outs that send us into shame spirals. Most hookups land somewhere between these two extremes. We just never really know which it will be. Either way, they’re proof of the boundless optimism and fierce bravery of queer people.
Section 1: 1975 Newspaper Personal Ad - Mike B. (S4E10)
Section 2: Campus Intranet Bisexual Bear Chef - Stephen (S2E10)
Section 3: Chat Rooms. Hairy Gay Florida Hookup - Alex (S3E10): Fixing a Daddy’s Sound Card - Tom (S1E3); Ann Arbor Pizza Date - Nathan (S3E4); Cemetery Hookup - Shavit (S3E8); India Chats with Portland, Maine - Aditya (S2E2); Richie Makes a Housecall - Mike (S3E19); A Man in a Van - Patrick (S3E12).

These days, thanks to technology, it’s easier than ever to hook up; but no app can provide the rush you feel when you lock eyes with someone in person and you know, without any verbal communication, that there is a mutual interest. In this episode, our interviewees share first-time stories of cruising as well as other anecdotes about the art of cruising and what we’ve lost now that it has become less common.
List of contributors and links to their full episodes: Justin (S4E1): The basics of cruising; Nathan (S3E4): Flipping a B in Glendale; Patrick (S3E12): The benefits of in-person hookups; Nayland (S2E4): Cruising at the Adonis; Stephen (S2E10): Cruising at the David; Jerry (S1E4): The Piers; Stephen (S2E10): The Piers, The Trucks, The Rambles; Nathan S. 02 Aug 2024 | S5E13 - Firsts Vol.6: Young Adult | 01:14:25
You graduated high school. You packed up all your things and you’re moving into a dorm room or your first apartment. Finally, you have the chance to define life on your own terms. For many queer people, leaving our family and getting our own place is the chance to finally seek out the experiences we’ve always wanted but weren’t allowed to have when every move, every decision we made was scrutinized by the family that we grew up with.
In this final volume of our “Firsts” series we hear from Fruitbowl contributors about a variety of firsts: first “intimacies,” first boyfriends, first gay bars, first kisses; coming out, going in again, coming out a second time; all the things we wanted to do for so long and finally got the chance.
List of contributors and links to their full length episodes: 1.Tai (S3E7) - “Well, I wanted this and it’s stupid intense.” 2. Adam (S2E3) - Visiting The Cock. 3. 16 Aug 2024 | Guest Podcast: "Nuances - Queering Premodern Asia" | 01:03:08
Enjoy this bonus episode of the podcast series Nuances: Our Asian Stories.
Hosted by Lazou, Nuance's latest season is titled Queering Premodern Asia and each episode explores different aspects of sexual diversity in premodern Asia with commentary and personal stories from guest scholars and artists.
Lazou reached out recently and, because our podcasts have a lot of themes in common, we decided to share an episode of each other’s pod with our listeners.
Just so you know, Lazou’s structure of the episodes: first a guest scholar talks about some really interesting queer history of ancient Asian cultures and then, after that, a guest talks about their own personal history and experiences. As you may have guessed, this is my favorite part of the episode.
This first episode of the Queering Premodern Asia series is titled “In search of Prince Charming…and his King!” and the first half is full of swoon-worthy love stories of gorgeous male lovers of kings and saints! Then there is a conversation between Lazou and guest Edmond Chan, a native of Texas who is also a professional musician and scholar. Edmond's conversation with Lazou is really real and raw and it sounds a lot like a Fruitbowl interview so check it out and, if you like the show, subscribe to their feed!
Here’s a LIST of their queer-themed episodes!
Fruitbowl will return in September with new Season 5 episodes. Hope you’re having a great summer!

18 Oct 2024 | S5E14 - Firsts Vol.7: High School Heartstoppers | 00:55:21
This episode is the first of a three part series about first love. Specifically, the messy, inconvenient, heartbreaking chaos that first love often inspires for people in high school as well as all the sweetness, optimism and exciting feelings of discovery both about ourselves and that special someone. Mix in the big feelings of emerging sexuality and you can understand why so many of these interviewees remember this time in their lives like it was yesterday.
List of contributors and links to their full length episodes: Alan (S3E2) - First Love in the tenor section; Zachery (S4E16) - Never got to see that D; Ji (S2E5) - A moment of blooming on the beach; Patrick (S3E12) - Love in the hot tub; Deaunte (S3E3) - Finding love on the party line, souf end style; Erik (S3E9) - Best friend shut down; Kenny (S4E6) -

22 Dec 2024 | S5E15 - Firsts Vol.8: College Love | 01:09:44
College is often the first opportunity to separate ourselves, both geographically and psychologically, from oppressive families or communities. It's a chance to examine stifled urges and investigate sidelined feelings in an environment that includes others seeking similar experiences. When you combine this newfound sense of self with a bit of confidence and some good old fashioned young adult hormones, it's no wonder so many of us find ourselves falling in love for the first time at college.
List of contributors and links to their full length episodes: Shavit (S3E8) - the hike from hell in Nepal; Jerusha (S2E1) - Freshmen Orientations; Dave (S4E15) - Love at first puke; Paul (S3E5) - Frustrations with JB; Karilla (S3E15) - Falling for the F Boy; Drew (S4E4) - Exes dating Exes; Lilian (S4E5) - Gender and Polyamory explorations; Donovan (S3E18) - The Best Friend, the Sailor and the blindfold; Aditya (S2E2) - Professor Bear.

31 Dec 2024 | S5E16 - Firsts Vol.9: Young Adult Love | 01:12:19
Love is complicated and for queer people, it's even more so. Queer love rarely resembles traditional romantic stories. And while our representation is getting better, the lack of realistic queer adult love stories can make sorting through those complicated emotions and feelings a struggle. Many of this episode’s stories describe a certain kind of gratitude for the experience of first love, oftentimes the interviewees describe becoming close friends after their relationships ended. If a romantic bond eventually dissolves, we still see a reflection of ourselves in that other person; a recognition of all the struggle, bravery and honesty that it took to get to a place where we can admit that this is who I am and this is how I express love.
Ari (S4E3) - First love on the lunch shift; Steven M. (S4E14) - Falling for the troublemaker & “Are you a rice queen?”; Adam T. (S3E20) - Practicing piano & learning how to love; Josh (S3E1) - An older, wiser first love; Breona (S4E18) - obsessed with love; Joshua G. (S2E7) - Learning about love and what not to do; Alan (S3E2) - Mormon love in the Inland Empire; Justin (S4E1) - Punk Love at the urinal; Adam (S2E3) - Sex is easy, Love is difficult; Mike (S3E19) - Love & Polyamory.
