06 Jul 2020 | 014 : The Most Impactful Thing I Did For My Business To Retire My Husband | 00:57:11
Have you heard the expression, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime?” That’s my philosophy with my students when they come to me asking questions. The worthwhile thing to do, is for me to teach them how to uncover the answer for themselves. Because then, they’re “fed for a lifetime.” In today’s episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes for a coaching call I did recently with some of my marketing school students and we’re looking at the answers to these questions: Have you ever had to give an elevator pitch? If so, what does it sound like? Did you hit 10k months solely shooting births or is it accumulative between your courses and newborn photography as well? Is there a good place you would recommend to get a contract or are you willing to share what you use? Do you have any flash tips? What was the most impactful thing you did for your business when you felt stretched too thin and had days where you felt like you just couldn't get your business off the ground?

13 Apr 2020 | 003 : How Creative Entrepreneurs Can Stand Out & Get Hired (Even in a Saturated Market) | 00:17:52
So many photographers right now are overwhelmed, stressed and undercharging. They’re burnt out, not loving photography anymore and almost ready to quit because it feels like they can’t limit the number of clients they serve by specializing, but they also can’t get hired photographing all the genres right now! No matter what industry you’re in, the biggest problem most boss moms make when starting their business, is thinking that they can’t specialize or niche down because they’ll limit number of clients they can serve, which means they’ll make less money. This mompreneur is asking herself things like, How do I choose a specialty or niche? As a creative entrepreneur, are the riches in the niches? How can I niche down and still make the money I need to earn? Maybe you’ve had similar thoughts too. In this episode, I’m going to show you how niching down can actually make you more desirable to your ideal customer, help you get hired, make more money in your small business AND work less in your business. 01 Nov 2021 | 68: Photography Pricing: A Shift in The Industry That No One Is Talking About | 00:21:45
The photography industry has changed a lot in recent years. Photographers used to be scared to charge a lot, but now I see the pendulum swinging the other way and very new and inexperienced photographers want to jump in charging a high price when they don't have the experience or brand to back it up. BUT I totally get why they're doing that, their time is valuable and so is their work. So when is your work "good enough" to charge full price? That's what we'll talk about today!

02 Aug 2021 | 55: 3 Powerful Questions for a Better Mindset to Reach $10K Months | 00:19:27
I really love this quote from Warren Buffet. He said: “Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.” The concept here is that when others are turning away from something, that’s the time for you to take a second look at it. Going against the grain looking at possibilities and not necessarily just following what everybody else is doing is so POWERFUL. Do you want to improve your thinking and your mindset by #ChallengingTheNorm? In today's episode I will share with you the 3 questions I asked myself to change my thinking, improve my mindset, and lead me to hitting those coveted $10k months with photography.

17 Nov 2020 | 024: What to do as a birth photographer right now with COVID | 00:11:59
I see a lot of birth photographers making a critical mistake right now, and I want to talk about it today! They think, “If hospitals are only allowing 1 visitor then I can’t promote my business or get clients because I can’t photograph their birth.” And I get it! So many other birth photographers are pressing pause on their business until hospitals open back up. BUT, this is the kind of thinking that keeps birth photographers from growing. The world has never seen anything like COVID the affects it’s had on us in our lifetime, this is true. With the hospital restrictions, birth photographers worldwide have most definitely been impacted. In this episode, we're discussing how our studio is handling COVID as photographers who specialize in birth!

25 May 2020 | 009 : Top 5 Birth Photography Tips for Newbies {what I wish I knew when I started} | 00:18:01
When I started in birth photography 8 years ago, every time I posted a photo, I thought - Will this offend someone? Will people unlike my page if I post this? Is this photo “too much?” If even 1 person thought it was inappropriate, I let it affect my business, my marketing and my confidence. These fears & insecurities swirled in my head and slowed me down, until I realized… “If I have a passion & drive for birth photography - it’s for a REASON. It’s because I’m made to be a birth photographer.” And the same thing is true for you my friend! Your passion isn’t there on accident, and that passion is not something everyone feels! Then, I started sharing photos that lit me up. Photos of babies being born. Moms in the throws of labor. Families meeting those babies in the hospital room and at home. Sometimes photos of placentas 🤭 And you know what? I got unlikes and unfollows. But I also got a LOT of new people liking my page, following along and hiring me! So, I’m here to encourage you! I pushed through those fears, and now have, photographed well over 100 births, a photography studio in my town, 3 team members and retired my husband with my birth photography business. Which is why in this episode, I’m going to share with you my top 5 tips for new birth photographers (things I wish I knew back then).

And one of those lessons is that anyone can change their relationship with money by making small changes over time. So today, I'm going to share 3 common beliefs that photographers have about money (if you're listening to this, I can pretty much guarantee you have at least one of them) and how to overcome those thoughts, so you can improve your money mindset to make more money every month. I mean, it's no secret that photographers can definitely struggle with this (especially when they love what they do) but it doesn't have to be that way! You can love what you do AND make great money doing it.

This podcast was born when the world was at a shaken and uncertain state. COVID is most definitely on our minds every single day. For sure, all of us have been affected by it in some way. So in today's episode, I wanted to talk about running an in-person service business, like photography, in today’s times with updated perspective.

29 Mar 2021 | 39: How to Naturally Attract High-End Clients Every Day (with Lindsay Jani) | 00:54:28
On today’s episode, I’m chatting with Lindsay Jani about how to attract high-end clients with your brand. Now you might remember Lindsay from episode 34 where we talked about how to book more clients using your branding. Lindsay had so much to share that she and I did an IG live together and we’re bringing that bonus episode to you here on the podcast! We covered a lot in this episode but I think my favorite part was what to do in your business if you keep hearing “you’re too expensive” from inquiries + Lindsay’s thoughts on putting pricing on your website (and they actually differ from mine so I’m excited to bring in a different perspective). There's so much good stuff so let’s get into it!
