29 Sep 2018Forgotten TV ep 24-AfterMASH01:29:28

The short lived CBS MASH spin-off series AfterMASH is considered, including a brief overview of the origins of MASH, an episode review; and many hard to find details, facts about the show, and bits of trivia are divulged.

Correction: I am likely in error regarding my conclusion that ep 21, By The Book was 'pulled' from airing on 3-5-1984. While it is true no English language US recording seems to have surfaced of this episode, multiple newspapers have By The Book listed on the daily TV listings for that date. In addition, David Goehner states he remembered seeing it; and MASH4077tv.com lists Neilsen ratings for the episode from that date.

TV themes/clips used

  • Me & The Chimp theme
  • Makin' It theme
  • Archie Bunker's Place closing theme
  • MASH 1970 film theme
  • Trapper John, MD theme
  • Jamie Farr 1984 Mars bar TV spot
  • CBS 1983 We've Got The Touch promo
  • Whiz Kids bumpers
  • MASH cast IBM TV spots

23 Jul 2019Forgotten TV ep 30-Tales of the Gold Monkey04:13:02

The 1982-83 ABC TV series Tales of the Gold Monkey is extensively considered, featuring a two-hour interview with producer Tom Greene.

Correction: The 'hero' Grumman Goose (tail number N327) is not at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY as stated in the podcast. Their Goose is tail number NC16913 and I misinterpreted a caption on their website. The 'hero' Goose totaled in the 2005 crash was purchased by a Samuel D. for a restoration. He evidently finished, as public flight records show it flew in December 2019, flying 146 nautical miles in central Arkansas.

19 Jun 2018Forgotten TV podcast trailer00:00:29

Join me on Forgotten TV where I explore TV memories of the 70s and 80s, from the fondly remembered to the obscure, short-lived TV shows, pilots, and made for TV movies.

Your ForgottenTV host was raised on UHF reruns of Star Trek and The Twilight Zone on a black and white 19 inch Admiral TV, long before the average household had home video and back when you had to catch shows when they were on. An utter TV and media nerd, I recorded TV theme songs on a Panasonic cassette recorder, had the ‘Television 1970-1980’ book, wrote my own episode guides to Battlestar Galactica, Greatest American Hero and Wonder Woman, as well as my own episode of The Twilight Zone and my first aired radio spot all in middle school.
