Flick Connection Podcast (Flick Connection)

This is my first podcast episode spinning off of the Flick Connection YouTube channel. Get more out of movies with loads of recommendations of good movies to watch on Netflix and other streaming services. I also discuss the success of DeadPool, Jordan Peele's new flick and rant about the DC cinematic universe.

After giving you the Flicks of the Week across all streaming services, we'll talk about Han Solo and what exactly is a Kessel Run and what a Parsec is... It's gonna get super nerdy this week!

In episode 4 I talk about common traits all horror movies share, the Steve McQueen classic Papillon and of course the Flicks of the Week! Listen, and never run out of good movies to watch on Netflix and other streaming services.

This week, in addition to my Flicks of the Week, I discuss details of the Obama Netflix Boycott and whether or not movies are actually getting worse by going over some of the absolute best movies to have come out over the past 10 years.

Let's talk movies for about an hour! I'll give you weekly recommendations for each major streaming service including Netflix, Amazon and HULU. This week we talk about the new Halloween Trailer and some of the other recently releases trailers and we'll ask Do Women make movies better? With the release of Ocean's 8 we look at some financial numbers and decide whether or not adding a female cast to a franchise helps or hurts.

I'm all over the map in this episode with my problem with Will Wheaton, Jurassic World vs Jurassic Park and the latest trend of there being too many white male movie critics. As a white male movie critic myself, I weigh in on the latest Hollywood controversy.

This week we talk about the Netflix exec fired over use of the N Word, Johnny Depp's massive lawsuit(s), Flicks of the Week and Tarkovsky's "STALKER".

I'm hooked on the Staircase on Netflix right now but still have plenty of good movie recommendations to get you through the week as well as all the best action movies coming out over the summer.

This week, I review Johnny Depp's crazy 2 million dollar per month expense list, My first big budget movie set experience, The Staircase on Netflix, my "You Were Never Really Here" movie review and of course the Flicks of the Week!

This week I talk about major plot holes in movies like A Quite Place and Calibre on Netlfix as well as the Netflix Original Movie "How It Ends" and the shocking things that have happened to the kids from "Stand By Me".

This week I discuss the backlash Scarlett Johansson received from the trans community and what it means for everyone. It's more important than you might initially think.... as well as all the best new trailers that just dropped at the San Diego Comic-con and of course your flicks of the week!

Did James Gunn deserve to be fired for his 10 year old tweets? How good is the Netflix Original Movie "Extinction"? and my Flicks of the Week.

Today! I talk about how to save Star Wars from the downfall Disney has cast upon it, what it's like to hit 20,000 subscribers and David Lynch's The Elephant Man. ... Oh, and of course, the Flicks of the Week.

Today, I discuss the crazy "Achievement in Popular Film" Oscar category, The Alex Jones Ban and Mark Wahlberg's Anti Gun stance despite toting guns in every movie he does... Also tell you about some great upcoming movies, and my Flicks of the Week.

This week I talk about Avengers Infinity War, New Movies coming out in 2018 and how Hollywood's attempt at inclusion is super exclusive.

This week I discuss details of 10 amazing Netflix Original Movies coming out this fall. Also, my fascination with the return of Natural Hair and Zazie Beetz.

This week I discuss the Asia Argento controversy and whether or not her relationship with a 17 year old boy should be considered assault. I also discuss my adventures at this year's Dragon Con and what might possibly be the most important movie about being gay in America in a long time.

This week, I remember my favorite Burt Reynolds movies and talk about all the upcoming awards season movie releases that actually look really great.

Gino Cafarelli has a long filmography including The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Big Fan, Terrifier plus the upcoming films "Cruise", "Apalachin", "Fonzo" starring Tom Hardy and "The Irishman" directed by Martin Scorsese!

Derek Haugen is an actor and producer for the film "I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker" WATCH it on Amazon Prime. We talk about what it's like to make a movie with no experience and our favorite bad horror movies. I first talk about the new Joker movie and what I think about the Joaquin Phoenix Joker images released this week.

I just had to address the Brett Kavanaugh hearings this episode. The first half is all about movies and the incredible October we're about to have but after the break the rest of the show is dedicated to the Kavanaugh controversy so please bail if you don't want to know my thoughts... it ain't pretty.

Jenna Kanell is an actress and filmmaker starring in the upcoming Hugh Jackman movie "The Frontrunner" she also stars in the horror movie "Terrifier" currently on Netflix and has made a long list of indie short films including one titled "Bumblebees" that ultimately led her to doing a Ted Talk.

Daniel de Weldon is an actor known for his role in Anonymous 616 which you can currently watch on Amazon Prime. Daniel has studied at the Actors Studio and his IMDB profile features a long list of upcoming features and even a pilot for a western series where he plays a young Doc Holliday. Dustin is a close friend and ex co-worker. In this casual episode, we get into some crazy backstories from when we worked together along with our take on things like Jared Letto's Joker vs the new Joker movie, Train to Busan vs World War Z and the first couple of drunken videos we shot together on my YouTube channel.

George Hardy is most known for his role as the Dad in Troll 2 which is considered to be one of the Best Worst Movies every made. HIs story is also featured in the documentary Best Worst Movie but he stars in the new Texas crime thriller, Texas Cotton which will be available on demand Nov. 16.

GARDNSOUND is a fellow YouTuber and musician who has some interesting insights into how Horror Movie Soundtracks are produced and how their methods reflect the story and monsters within them. In this (in studio) episode, we talk about the score for It Follows by Disasterpiece and how the new Halloween score compares to the Original and how those differences are also reflected in the filmmaking styles.

Tyler Russell is the writer and director of "Texas Cotton" starring George Hardy who previously appeared on the Flick Connection Podcast. In this episode, Tyler and I discuss what it's like to write, film and release an indie film in today's market as well as some of our favorite movies and directors.

Najarra Townsend is an actress most known for her roles in Contracted, Contracted: Phase 2, and Wolf Mother but she's been acting since she was a child and has almost 100 IMDb acting credits under her belt making her the most experienced guest I've had on the podcast to date. In recent days, an interview with Liam Neeson was released in which he describes a time when he sought revenge on behalf of a female friend who as raped. The nature of his story brought about a lot of criticism calling actor Liam Neeson racist. In this episode I analyze whether or not Liam Neeson is not racist and what we could really learn from his confession.

To do so, I'm sharing an extremely personal story. My intention in doing so is to shed more light on this subject. I am not, nor would I share anything of this nature to sensationalize an episode with the goal of more views.

Liam Neeson's confession made me realize that this type of vengeful rage can possibly be more common in men than we realize and that by sharing my own personal rub with this kind of darkness, maybe a discussion could be had about the

Paul Walter Hauser is an actor known best for his roles in "I, Tonya", "BlacKkKlansman", "Cobra Kai" and the upcoming Clint Eastwood directed "Richard Jewel". Paul is currently filming in Atlanta and took time to sit down with me at Ormsby's to talk movies. In his upcoming upcoming role he plays Richard Jewel, a man famous for having saved people from the Atlanta Olympics bombing, but was then labeled as the prime suspect by the FBI and Main Stream Media. He acts alongside Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde and you can expect to see "Richard Jewel" in theaters later this year.

Lashana Lynch is rumored to assume the role of 007 in the upcoming James Bond film which should be the finale of the Daniel Craig run of bond flicks. As always, the internet freaked out, however it's not likely that she'll replace James Bond in any way shape or form.

Additionally, Scarlett Johansson is under fire (again) after stepping away from a role in which she was set to play a trans man. After enough heat on social media one of the most famous female actors in the world turned down what might have been an iconic role. Now the movie is shelved and no one will see it as a result. What's worse, no one seeing a film that could introduce millions to a trans experience or having one of the most famous people in the world play a trans character even though they themselves don't know the trans experience?
