30 Apr 2024 | 245 // Do you have too much stuff and not enough storage? 2 tips for reducing clutter | 00:11:31
Do you have too much stuff and not enough storage?
In this episode, I'm answering a listener's question who asks: How do I reduce visual clutter if I have minimal storage? Decluttering is always a a solution, but HOW do you declutter and HOW do you make sense of how much to keep and how much to get rid of? When we think of our home as having natural physical boundaries within each room, we can begin to compartmentalize the smaller areas within each room, helping us to create more physical boundaries to place our things. Once those physical boundaries are full, it's a clear indication that we have enough - too much even. But how do we know what items to rid our homes of? Understanding your personal aesthetic is a critical piece of that decluttering puzzle. Knowing which design elements make up your aesthetic will help you identify which items should stay and which should go. Do YOU have a question you want answered on the show? 13 Jun 2021 | 1 // How I Went From Teaching First Grade to Home Decorating | 00:16:31
Home Decorating as a career was an evolution for me that started when I left my job as a First Grade Teacher to stay home with my infant son. Going from a dual income to a single income meant budget everything while at the same time going from working full time to staying home all day meant lots of down time and lots of time for noticing the four walls that had become all too familiar. Those walls needed a change and naptime was the time for changing them, but there wasn't much room for purchasing new things. This was when I learned the power of transformation through paint and how I started my journey of discovering that home decorating does not have to break the bank.

07 May 2024 | 247 // Is your living room furniture hanging out along the walls like a wallflower at a dance? 5 tips for creating an intentional, cozy living room | 00:10:33
Have you ever wondered how you can arrange your living room to look cozy?
Today's quick tip comes as a question from Elizabeth, a listener, who wants to know "what goes together and how to arrange a room to look cozy."
What goes together is determined once you know your personal design style. You can learn that here: Home Design 101
But how to arrange your living room to look cozy, however, starts with intentionality. There are five components that help create a cozy looking space in arrangement alone. Choosing a focal point, creating a conversational area with anchoring pieces like coffee tables and area rugs, having easy walk throughs and flat surfaces ample enough to invite staying with room enough to set drinks and snacks.
Adding textures and styling come secondary to the arrangement (all can be learned inside Home Design 101).

03 Aug 2023 | 177 // Create a timeless, classic look in your home by decorating with this charming style that hints at coastal living (replay) | 00:32:20
What home decorating style is classic, timeless, charming, cozy and absolutely NOT pretentious?
In this episode, I am sharing the Coastal Grandma decorating style. But don't be confused or turn off the episode after reading 'grandma.' This style is opposite of doilies and floral couches. It's timeless, classic, cozy, charming, inviting, delightful...the only thing this decorating style is missing is the wafting of chocolate chip cookies! Coastal Grandma has been a 'style' that's been around for decades (since the 1980s), though more recently it's taken center stage because this style that renowned filmmaker Nancy Meyers has so beautifully conveyed in her iconic film sets now has a name. Any decorating style that withstands trends through three decades is a good one!

16 Jun 2022 | 91 // Celebration Week - 5 tips for engaging in dinnertime kid-centered conversation with kiddo conversation expert, Owen! | 00:10:31
Dinnertime habits and routines...do you have them? Do you eat on the go? Do you engage in conversation around the dinner table?
Today's conversation is with my oldest son Owen who has fifteen years of experience engaging in dinnertime conversation with his family! He's sharing 4 tips to help busy mamas slow down and really connect with kid-centered topics. The last tip...it's for the kids.
5 tips for engaging in kid-centered dinnertime conversation: 1. Star Wars: keep a picture dictionary handy so you know who's who 2. Soccer (or any sport): keep a general rule book handy so you can fact check rules that don't sound like rules 3. Marvel: back to the picture dictionary or, better yet, get out the figurines so you can identify who's who 4. Video games: keep eye contact with the kids when they're sharing ALL the details because it's important to them 5. Kids...be sure to compliment your mamas for the delicious meal. And if you don't like it, at least say thank you for their hard work in preparing it.

14 Sep 2021 | 17 // How to mix old and new part 1- The art of marrying vintage or antique furniture with a twenty-first century design aesthetic | 00:26:04
Can you mix old furniture with the style of today in a way that doesn't mimic the look of Grandma's house from back in the day?
The cliff notes answer: YES. Yes you can. You just need to know all the secrets.
Before we can learn how to style or incorporate vintage or antique furniture into a modern home, we first need to identify if it's a piece worth working with. What is it's potential? Is it perfect the way it is or is having it in your home bringing you down? Do you feel attachment to it in an unhealthy way and how can we break that attachment? What happens if the piece isn't perfect? Can it be saved or modified?
So many questions. So many answers. And this is only PART ONE!

14 May 2024 | 249 // The secret to decorating your home like a professional | 00:11:23
How do you decorate your home to make it look like a professional did it?
This is the question asked by one of our listeners - how do you get professional looking results when decorating your home? This is a two part series (subscribe to listen to part 2 on Tuesday, May 21st). Keep these four decorating principles in mind while decorating your home: 1. Less is more. This doesn't always mean you need to declutter, though that's a good first step. Less can mean, fewer items, fewer matching sets, a less stuffed couch, less of the footprint taken up by furniture in general. 2. Scale matters. Paying attention to size guidelines is critical for getting a room to look just right. A too small area rug or too short of curtains can instantaneously spoil good design. 3. Repetition is key. Repetition of design elements is how one creates a cohesive looking home. Repetition in the large details is important, but when that repetition carries to the small details...that's where it starts looking 'professional.' 4. Practice, experiment, change things often. This is your permission to play. If you only intake ideas and never practice them, you'll be left wondering what a professionally designed home looks like. Part two of how to make your home look like a professional was there, will be airing next week. Subscribe to listen.

12 Mar 2024 | 234 // STOP wasting your time taking those home decorating style quizzes. Do THIS if you're wanting to learn your design style | 00:12:25
What's my design style? It's the age-old question. What's my style? What name can I give it? What box can I put it in to make my job of decorating my home easier? The hard truth: those home decorating style quizzes DON'T make your job easier. They make it harder...a LOT harder. Your design style can be labeled, but it should be labeled by you and you alone. Why? Because you and I can both be looking at the exact same picture with the same design style label and interpret it two different ways. Inside the BACK TO BASICS BOOTCAMP I teach you how to learn your design style...not just how to recognize a pretty picture. I teach you the nuances that make up your style and help you make a label that YOU understand. When you do that...you UNLOCK the secret to learning how to decorate your home. This is the NUMBER ONE thing you should do when you are wanting to learn how to decorate your home, you're feeling stuck or uninspired, you feel like you lack the decorating gene. THIS, friend, is it!

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE KIDS ALL DAY? In this episode, I'm going back to my roots as a First Grade teacher and combining my many years of experience working with kids, my own home summer system that I developed to help ease my anxious son's transition to summertime schedule, and my desire to get work done while also having A LOT of fun with my boys. 05 Apr 2022 | 68 // FAQs about Design 101: Ten weeks to home design transformation. Is Design 101 right for me? | 00:12:53
Design 101: Ten weeks to home design transformation
FAQs: What is Design 101: A ten week immersive course teaching you the steps in the design process, with weekly lessons and homework with actionable steps so you can make a confident plan to transforming one room in your home.
Why is it 10 weeks?: Design takes time and we are all busy. Each week I will teach a live lesson and give you homework to complete actionable steps within one room in your home so you can begin to see transformation.
Why do you only offer it two times a year? fig & farm (at home) is a multi-faceted operation. From podcast, teaching in the Facebook group (https://bit.ly/design101group), running my brick and mortar shop, having independent design clients to raising my family, I keep pretty busy. Also...I want to give you the attention you deserve within those ten weeks and that attention requires a lot of dedicated energy. You want results and I want to work hard to give you those results.
How much homework is there weekly?: You can expect about an hour to an hour and a half live weekly lessons (they are recorded in case you can't make it live) and about an hour to two hours weekly of homework. There will be more homework some weeks than others.
What if I don't have a big enough budget to make all the changes in ten weeks that I want to make for my room?: Then THIS is the class for you because one of the weeks you are learning about budgeting in correlation with project mapping. That project map is essential for knowing which changes need to be made first, second, third etc. Sometimes the biggest changes that are made cost the least amount of money and can be made right away. Other times, those changes, once you know what they are in order to make the biggest impact, can be made in the future.
How do I register?: You can register by going to: www.figandfarmathome.com/registration
When does it start?: Class runs from April 14th - June 16th
What if I can't do it in April?: I will be offering another session of Design 101 in late summer, early fall. Head to my website: www.figandfarmathome.com to join the waitlist.
What if I have more questions?: I'd love to answer any questions that you might have. Send all your questions here: figandfarmathome@gmail.com
See you in class! xo, dani

26 Mar 2024 | 238 // Do you know your design style? Learn how to identify it so you can decorate your home with less overwhelm | 00:23:28
Do you ever wonder...where do you START when you want to decorate your home or re-fresh a single room?
Starting BIG with a purchase could possibly be the worst thing you could do as you begin re-designing your home. So, put away your credit card and grab a notebook and a pen because you'll want to pay attention to the DETAILS. Learning your design style is not just an important step. It's THE MOST IMPORTANT first step, so what details do you pay attention to? All of them! Your style is more nuanced than the global terms that are tossed around left and right. Your style is more YOU than it is Farmhouse. It's more YOU than it is Boho. It's more YOU than it is Traditional. Cottage. Country. Industrial. Fill in the BIG global design style. Once you understand what your style is, you have the freedom to mix and match. Do you like a little Cottage and a little Industrial, but wonder how to blend the two? Looking at the fine details of the design elements you gravitate toward will help!

13 Oct 2022 | 112 // Are you ready for fall decorating? How decorating your fall home with your five senses makes everything feel more cozy! | 00:23:42
Are you a pumpkin spice fan? The good news is...you don't have to be OR you can be...in order to decorate your fall home. Using your five senses is one of the easiest ways to bring layers, depth and texture into your home decorating. But don't just stop with your five senses, think about MOOD too. 1. Smell: What smells make you think of fall? Bringing scents of apple, pear, spices, even tobacco can elicit the smell of fall. 2. Sight: What do you see outdoors that you can transfer in to your fall decorating? Think of colors, foliage, textures. 3. Sound: What sounds do you hear that remind you of fall? Falling rain, rustling leaves in the wind? How about sound tracks? Replacing upbeat music for more soothing instrumentals may elicit feelings of coziness as the days get longer. 4. Touch: When fall arrives we replace our thin textiles for heavier, more textural linens, blankets and pillows. Do you have different textures available as a reminder that fall is a cozy season? 5. Taste: Our kitchens are full of flavors of fall, but how can we carry those over to our decorating? Bowls of apples, caramels or even pumpkins on display are reminders that are taste buds need representation too. 6. Mood: Every bit as important as our five senes, the mood we want to create in our fall home should not be ignored. How do you want your fall home to feel? Cozy and warm like you're enveloped in a warm hug? Lighting can be instrumental for creating the ambience and setting the mood within your fall home. Combining all of these elements together create layers, texture and depth as you decorate your fall home. Repeat design elements for intentional styling.

12 Apr 2022 | 70 // NAKED hallways? When is it a good idea to add an area rug to a hallway? | 00:13:05
Do you have NAKED hallways? What are some things to consider when adding an area rug (aka runner) to a hallway?
Definite NO: if you want to layer a hallway runner on top of carpet ............................................................................................................................ Definite YES - consider these things: * standard runners are 2' x 7' : do you have enough hallway to support that length, leaving it looking centered? * anytime you can add layers, warmth, depth and texture in your home's design (even if it's in the form of a hallway runner) is a GOOD THING! * how washable is it really? (psst...MOST hallway runners are washable!) * does the design of it play nicely and coordinate (not necessarily match- match) with its adjacent neighbor? ............................................................................................................................ BORING! If that's the word you are using to describe your home you may be missing something. In today's podcast we're continuing our conversation of bringing more Christmas time cozy into your home when the last pine needle has been swept up and the ornaments have been put away. If we love the feeling of Christmas - can we truly get it the rest of the year? The simple answer...YES! Just look at your Christmas tree...it is covered with your family's story, history, legacy. Creating a home that honors your family's story is more than hanging a few photos on the wall (though that's a good start).

19 Sep 2024 | 276 // Styling your home is all about experimentation: a behind the scenes look at styling a mantle | 00:23:02
Hey friend! In today's episode I'm sharing an example of my secret to creating spaces that look refined, a bit more put together - like a designer was right there doing it for you! There is a difference between putting things on a shelf and styling decor items on a shelf / placing things on a mantle and styling items intentionally on a mantle. Inside The Collective, my monthly membership - I teach my simple styling formula. This formula can be used to style any flat surface and could be aptly named Finishing School. :) In today's episode I'm teaching Dee, a founding member of the membership, how to style her mantle. Dee, along with her husband Jim who helped hold the camera, were good sports as we experimented until it was just right - even good sports when the directions included, "Move that item a half inch to the left." When it comes to styling, details like a half inch matter...A LOT! Ready to join The Collective? Doors stay open until Sunday, September 22nd!

06 Sep 2024 | 270 // Trend alert: Can you have a DEMURE home? 8 reasons why I say, 'Absolutely!' | 00:17:58
Hey friend!
Have you heard the trending phrase on social media "demure and mindful?" It's popping up everywhere and even my 13 year old son has taken notice (and he doesn't have social media). So it got me wondering...what in the world is everyone talking about?
As I looked into 'demure' and what it meant versus what I thought it meant, I also noticed that there's a very similar word with quite the opposite meaning: 'demur.' If creating a home that is demure is your goal, you don't want to get the two confused. :) In today's episode I'm sharing 8 ways that your home can look and feel demure without it feeling like a pretentious museum room.
If you're wanting to create a demure look and feel in your home, you can start with these 8 things: 1. Create a calm color palette: 50 shades of white anyone? If you must have a 'pop' of color - try oatmeal or mushroom. 2. Use light wood tones: white oak or natural immediately come to mind. Don't have that? Try a painting technique instead of throwing out your cherry entryway table. 3. Brass or Champagne gold metals. The goal here is minimal contrast - so avoid bronze, flat matte black at all costs. 4. Remove the chaos, the clutter, the extras...on EVERY surface. Demure homes resemble minimal homes. 5. Quality of furniture matters, but not in a flashy way. Demure homes are quiet and respectful - not pretentious. 6. Consider the weight of objects in your home. Demure homes are opposite of heavy - they're light and airy. 7. The scent matters: choose subtle scents with no dominant identifiers that indicate what it is. No pumpkin spice, lavender, even vanilla. The more benign, but delicious, the better. 8. Consider the background sound as well as the scent. Demure homes are not loud, flashy or calling attention to themselves. Turn down Alexa playing the latest Jellyroll song (not my style anyway) and opt for instrumental playing at a volume 2 - audible, but only as a faint whisper.

01 Nov 2024 | 287 // Are you tired of trends? Try these 6 things for a classic and timeless design | 00:20:07
Hey friend! Do you wonder what's a TREND and what's NOT in home design? Do you worry that the choices you make today will be a fad and thrown by the wayside tomorrow? Do you want to make confident, timeless choices so you can be confident your design decisions will stand the test of time? In today's episode I'm sharing 6 design elements that define the classic, timeless design style. It's not too dissimilar from Quiet Luxury, which I talked about in episode #169. Simply put, timeless design is a "style that looks elegant and fresh over time and isn't bound to any particular trend or time period." So, what are those 6 design elements that you should include in your home if you want a home that looks timeless? 1. Simplicity: less really is MORE 2. Quality: less quick fabrication and MORE high quality pieces 3. Vintage: mixing old and new 4. Neutral Palette: this doesn't mean just 50 shades of white 5. Natural elements: think beyond fresh plants, though a good start. Think about materials found in nature: cotton, wood, marble. 6. Wall treatments: even homes a hundred years ago had vertical shiplap. Don't be afraid of dressing up your walls.

Today's Quick Tip comes from Tammie who wants to know what general guidelines she should follow when it comes to hanging curtains in her home. But BEFORE you buy curtains you need to choose a ROD and while you're choosing a rod you need to choose your FINIALS. THEN it's time to choose your curtains. Guidelines to follow: * Choose your rod * Finials have a lot of personality so choose wisely * Hanging your curtain rod should start at 6" (out and up) from the corner edge of your window and can go up to 12" * If you are going to choose hang them higher or lower, hang them higher * Curtain rods should be hung at the same height even if the windows are at different heights * Use the same curtain and rod if you're in the same room * Curtains can brush the floor, pool on the floor or hang part way along the baseboard * Curtains hanging too short instantly date your room * SO much more... watch my video series on how to hang your curtains using the links below. // How to hang curtains video series: // Part 1: https://youtu.be/r7WUT3ReBCM Part 2: https://youtu.be/_YT7oquCcbs Part 3: https://youtu.be/BvVHOOlGVIw // Other links mentioned in show: // Email: figandfarmathome@gmail.com Instagram: @figandfarm Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/design101group Book a call: https://www.figandfarmathome.com/book-a-call OR Start with a FREE discovery call to learn how we can work together: https://www.figandfarmathome.com/book-a-call

08 Mar 2024 | 233 // Create a home that is organized by design with guest and interior designer Kimberly Armstrong | 00:42:44
Live Organized by Design with Kimberly Armstrong
In today's episode I'm chatting with interior designer and home organization expert, Kimberly Armstrong of Armstrong Design Collective. We chat about designing a space based on functionality before beauty, the art of organized living and being conscious consumers so we know what we're bringing into our homes so we can live BIG even in small spaces.
Organization isn't just about everything having a place to call home, it's about functionality and having homes that serve the family well through intentional organizational planning.
"When you start with a blank space, you can make better space for the things you have to store." - Kimberly Armstrong
Learning the art of conscious consuming is at the heart of having an organized space. You'll learn that conscious consuming is being mindful of what you're bringing into your home and why. You can be a conscious consumer when you ask yourself: 1. Do I need it? 2. What's the cost of the item (both monetary and physical)? 3. Where's it going to live? 4. Does it add value to my home in a way that serves my family?
You can connect with Kimberly on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/armstrong_design_collective/ or on her website at: https://www.armstrongdesigncollective.com/

11 Oct 2022 | 111 // How do you decorate with house plants if you don’t have a green thumb? You shop THESE five places so you can shop for your house plants on a budget | 00:21:09
Do you have a BLACK thumb and kill every houseplant that you bring into the house?
Decorating with house plants is one of my top 5 secrets for elevating the look of your home in a weekend. Want to know the other four? https://bit.ly/5homesecrets
But if you kill every house plant you bring in to the house would it be better to buy fake plants? NO! Start small with your pocket book so you can take risks and grow in confidence as a plant parent. Starting small means shopping smart. Here are FIVE places you can shop for house plants on a budget: 1. IKEA: Skip the fake plants and head straight toward the LARGE plants. These are beautiful, thrive for long periods of time and cost a fraction of the price at a nursery. 2. Hardware stores (& Walmart) in the 'I'm barely living, highly discounted' plant section: Skip the full-priced plant retail section and find the plant stand in the back corner of the store that has all of the deeply discounted plants. These ones are barely surviving and look like it. They need some TLC, but their needs means you'll do research. Your research will help them come out of their growth slump. 3. Local grocery stores: Sometimes a small offering, but take a look the next time you're shopping. Though the variety is limited the prices are competitive. 4. Mom & Pop nurseries: Skip the BIG, flashy, fancy nurseries that advertise from all corners of the universe. The fancy buildings, the cafes inside, the billboard directing the way - all of those are indicators that the prices are going to be high. Search out the local, corner mom and pop plant stand. Maybe it's on Facebook Marketplace or maybe it's in the gravel parking lot of your local grocery station. Their variety won't compare to the big-name nurseries but the prices can't be beat. 5. Your own home: Dividing plants when they get too big for their pot is a great way to get more plants from what you already have. Propagate plant shoots by cutting a small section and placing it in water to let it take root. Once roots form you are ready to plant it in a new pot.

If I tell you that not too long ago I used to have boogery colored walls, would you believe me?
Unlocking the secrets of home decorating didn't come inside a classroom with "Interior Designer" labeled on the front door, though it could. For most of us, we won't go back to school to become a certified Interior Designer. Most of us will do the very best we can with what we have. My very best, 12 years ago, was boogery green walls. 02 Jun 2022 | 85 // Imposter syndrome keeping you stuck?? How about Pinterest Paralysis? Instagram Comparison-itis? These 6 things can help you move out of stuck-ness and in to action! | 00:37:14
"When I have my forever home, I'll..." "I hate that piece, but I can't ..." "But it won't look like that picture I saw..." "If I paint my room this color, so and so won't like it..." "I'll just wait to buy nice furniture when the kids are out of the house..."
Have you ever said one (or more) of these things? If you have, you may have Imposter Syndrome, Pinterest Paralysis, Instagram Comparison-itis or a combination of all three. In today's episode I share a little more about my own journey into podcasting and how I overcame the Imposter Syndrome that was keeping me stuck and out of action. I share the 6 questions I ask myself when I want to move in action, whether it's toward a dream I have, a scary goal or when it comes to making change in home decorating. 1. Will it bring value and joy to your life (and that of your family or the people you share your life with)? 2. Are you making this choice for you or for them? 3. What if we fast forward ten years and took a peek back at today...what would you tell yourself? 4. Are you striving for perfection or progress? 5. What's the worst that can happen? 6. Prepare to be surprised!

17 Mar 2022 | 63 // Four EASY ways to bring spring into your home decorating WITHOUT it looking like you emptied out your Easter baskets! | 00:34:17
There's nothing better than a good spring cleaning in your home than a good Spring Re-fresh!
But how do you make your home look and feel spring-y on the inside without it looking all cutesy for Easter? And what on earth do I do with all of my ceramic bunnies or paper mache eggs?
Four Easy Ways to Bring Spring into your Home Decorating:
1. Choose a color palette to stick to. The color palette will help: * your decorations stay cohesive * your budget stay in check if you are searching for new pieces 2. Throughout your house, your garage, your closets, your garden shed gather items using that color palette. 3. Think outside the box by including whimsical elements that remind you of spring, but that you may not typically decorate with (i.e. birdcage, beehive, mossy branches, rain boots, umbrellas, etc.). 4. Bring the outside in: forcing branches to bloom ahead of nature's schedule.

27 Feb 2024 | 230 // Creating the BIG picture vision for your home's design starts with this ONE thing | 00:10:24
How do you see the BIG PICTURE vision for your home's design? It starts in the unlikeliest of places and it starts very, very small! When we think of creating a big picture vision for our homes, we immediately think about putting all of our favorite things into one place and most of us put those things onto Pinterest boards.
But using Pinterest in this capacity only confirms only one thing: that we know how to identify pretty pictures. That is a great start, but identifying pretty pictures and translating those to your home are two separate skills.
Taking some of those pretty pieces we find on Pinterest and isolating individual objects to place onto a mood board or notebook of inspiration is the next best step.
But knowing HOW to identify which specific pieces should go onto those mood boards is key!
In this episode I'm teaching you why looking at the small, fine details matter and how they matter MOST for being able to create a BIG picture vision for your home's design.
This is a high level teaching of how to start identifying the small design elements that make up your style, but I'm teaching more specifically HOW to identify your style inside my FREE two day LIVE workshop: BACK TO BASICS BOOTCAMP March 26th - 27th 9am PST | 10am MT | 11am CT | 12pm EST Can't join live? 04 Aug 2022 | 100 // Asking for help is NOT for weenies (no matter what Biff said during middle school). Three signs you should stop moving forward on your own in home design and reach out for HELP! | 00:32:09
Before you get any more frustrated about not making forward progress in home design, take a minute and remind yourself how far you've come. SO WHAT, if you have to pause to re-learn a skill, refine your aesthetic, or press SOS for that designer. Taking a bit of time now will reap big benefits later.
3 signs you may be ready to reach out for design reinforcements: ......................................................................................................................... 1. You started your design project with confidence, but as the decisions get BIGGER and the price point gets HIGHER, your confidence is waning. 2. You are in tune with your unique design aesthetic (THANK YOU Pinterest 101: Pinning with a Purpose) and can make design decisions and shopping decisions quickly, but once you bring home the item you HAVE NO CLUE what to do with it. How do you STYLE the silly things? 3. You are in tune with your unique design aesthetic and have successfully made all of your designs with ease, confidence and excitement, but when it comes to making a commitment with a higher ticketed item you BALK, you STALL, you become PARALYZED in INDECISION. You know you want a leather couch, but which style? Which shade of brown out of 502 shades of brown? But how do you know WHAT KIND OF HELP might be best for you?
5 ways fig & farm (at home) can help: ...................................................................................... 1. Start the conversation with a FREE 15 minute discovery call to share about your project and receive recommendations for helpful solutions. https://www.figandfarmathome.com/book-a-call 2. Become a student of design as you learn to identify your unique design aesthetic. Stop wasting time and money buying and returning product after product. Stop the overwhelm, frustration and confusion of having SO MANY design decisions that you can't possibly choose just one. Learn to identify your aesthetic using Pinterest. Pinterest 101: Pinning with a Purpose 3. Book a 45 minute call to ask ALL your design questions. Maybe you've thought about how nice it would be to have a designer in your back pocket to help you make those decisions that you know shouldn't be so hard, but are a little tricker than you thought. https://www.figandfarmathome.com/book-a-call 4. You'v purchased all the things with confidence and made your design decisions with ease, but you don't know how to style your decor once you get it home. Bookshelf Style Guide is for you! Learn the fundamentals of styling like the pros - how to layer, use height, scale and depth to your advantage. 5. Book a Room Edit to have a designer's eye on your project. Want a little fine tuning - someone to give you advice for how to tweak your design ever so slightly so you can create a cohesive room? OR...maybe you're starting completely from scratch and you just want someone to tell you what to do to make your home look and feel better. Yup...a Room Edit is for you too. https://www.figandfarmathome.com/room-edit

29 Jul 2021 | 8 // But Where Do I Start? - Is money holding you back from creating a home you love? Let’s rethink the way we view budget. | 00:29:23
Money, or the lack there of, is one of the biggest limitations for creating a home you love. But what if we re-thought the way we view budget? What if changes were accessible now...today...because we started thinking of the impact of change rather than the cost for that change? What if we knew the secret to making the biggest impact of change to your home and it didn't cost a lot? Would you want to know what that impact is? If you do, you'll want to listen to today's show where I not only reveal what that change is, but tell you my format for creating biggest impact change in sequence to smallest impact change so you can make the changes to your home on your timeline, with your budget. When decorating your home, shopping the house doesn't mean you should be drowning in excess! Storing simply, using the space and furniture you already have, and rotating items often can help you successfully shop your home using the items you've already vetted! Utilizing furniture that can pull its weight by serving both FORM and FUNCTION is the easiest way to minimize STUFF and to store any excess with ease!

18 Jan 2022 | 46 // Quick Tip: Should I replace the bathroom vanity or will it be ok to paint it? | 00:17:57
"Will it look ok if I paint the bathroom vanity?"
That's the question on the table from Tammie in today's Quick Tip Tuesday and my short answer...it depends on how experienced of a painter you are! The answer, like most things in home design, is more nuanced than a simple yes or no. In today's episode, we talk about how important it is to know the end goal of the bathroom in order to make a decision to paint or replace. We also talk about how important research, correct tools and talking to the right people is in the journey of DIY projects like painting bathroom vanities.
Do you love painting or just the idea of a fresh new look? How do you know if you should use enamel, latex or chalk paint for the project? We talk about all of these things, but mostly the thing that should NOT be skipped is PRACTICE. Practice, by its very nature, builds skill and confidence...both things you need if you're ready to paint a bathroom vanity!
Are you ready to practice painting a piece of furniture? Head to my Painting Furniture 101 class: https://bit.ly/paintingfurniture101 And then, join the Facebook Group so you can get support while you practice: And...tag me on Instagram so I can see your project! @figandfarm But follow me, so you can see my projects too: https://www.instagram.com/figandfarm/ Do YOU have a question that you want featured on Quick Tip Tuesday? 24 Sep 2024 | 278 // Elevate your living room instantly with these 5 FREE decorating tips | 00:21:34
Hey friend! Are you ready to elevate the look of your living room? Maybe you want a quick refresh and you're wondering how to spend your money for biggest impact? In this episode, I'm concluding my mini-series: If I had $500, what would I spend it on - this time we're hanging out in the LIVING ROOM. Because every living room is different and the needs will likely be different from person to person, I'm sharing 5 things to evaluate about your room before you make plans to invest money or effort into your space. 1. Layout: the layout of your living room matters. If all furniture items are hanging out snuggly on the edge o the wall, can you pull them in closer to create a more cozy, intentional feeling in your living room? 2. Weight: did you know that furniture carries a visual weight to it? Dark colors, overstuffed or oversized, hidden legs with skirting, deep wood tones are all examples of characteristics of heaviness within your room. Now imagine all of those heavy items sitting side by side with each other and what you get is a very heavy corner of the room. 3. Area rug: do you have one - or a living room that looks like the furniture is floating? Is your area rug too small or too big (that's a thing, too). Choosing the right size and knowing how to use it to your room's advantage will instantly elevate your living room while adding coziness to it. 4. Flat surfaces: taking stock of what's on your flat surfaces (mantles, coffee tables, bookshelves, tables) and reducing visual clutter or adding intentional styling, will immediately elevate your room. 5. Textiles: curtains, pillows and throw blankets all play an important role in finishing a room. Are the curtains long enough or missing all together? If you have a very heavy couch, using lighter colored pillows can visually lighten the visual load. Throw blankets can immediately elevate or deflate the look and appearance of the room just with the lack of texture or the appearance of pattern. Choosing intentionally creates a room that can look cohesive and elevated. 6. Ambient lighting: if using only the overhead lighting, try adding in some ambient lighting in the form of table lamps or floor lamps. Don't be afraid of sourcing these at thrift stores to save money. 7. Artwork: chunky frames + matting + inexpensive artwork + consistent spacing on the wall create intentionality, nuance and elevation of your living room design.

21 Apr 2022 | 73 // Spring into home series (pt.2): Organizing - Creating a home that serves you starts with these three simple steps. | 00:41:26
Organizing...you either love it or you hate it. Why is so important when really what you want is a beautiful home? No matter how pretty your home is, if your home isn't working FOR you, it will be making you work for it which ultimately robs you of the time and energy to enjoy this beautiful space you just created!
7 other reasons why organizing is important: 1. Creates efficiency in your home 2. Makes spaces easier to use 3. Makes enlisting help from small hands (or hubby hands) easier because they know where to find things 4. Saves you money because you don't go out and buy the thing that you 'just know you have' but can't find anywhere 5. Allows you the space to see your things which means - continual editing (or decluttering) 6. Sets the stage for keeping things tidy in the future 7. It can be pretty
HOW do you organize? Following these three steps makes it easier than you think: 1. Edit your space
2. Start with a broad space you'd like to organize (i.e. Pantry)...plan sub-categories within that space (i.e. breakfast shelf, dinner shelf, snack shelf)...plan micro-niche categories within that (i.e. pasta basket, jars for grains, canned goods area). Assigning an appropriate amount of space for your belongings will help you successfully create boundaries for your things to stay within.
3. Think vertically. Use forgotten spaces by going UP not just out. But remember, going up doesn't mean you have space for more...it means you are being more efficient with the space you have!

15 Feb 2022 | 54 // Quick Tip: How many wood tones can you have in one space? | 00:08:29
How many wood tones are too many in one space? That's the question on the table in today's Quick Tip Tuesday, and honestly, the answer may be something you're not quite ready to hear. There's a fine line between having too much of a good thing and too many different things that you end up lacking cohesiveness in home design. So...how do you walk that delicate balance? 26 Jan 2024 | 221 // The ONE mistake you could be making while decorating your home is IN-ACTION | 00:24:40
Are you afraid of making a MISTAKE?
What if I choose the wrong color? What if I mess it up? What if I choose the wrong size? What if I don't like the change? What if I like it?
Raise your hand if you feel stuck in in-action because you are afraid that you'll make a mistake while decorating your home? In this episode I share my reasons why making a mistake might actually be the best thing for you! Why? Because mistakes mean ACTION. And action is opposite of being stuck.
The 5 Ps to help you take action in home decorating when you're worried about making a mistake: 1. Petite: start small 2. Pin: see the big picture by going microscopic (hint: it's not about collecting beautiful images on Pinterest) 3. Practice: taking action, even small action, is better than staying stuck 4. Partner: grab a partner, take a class, hire a coach - get the accountability, but DON'T put out a poll on Facebook 5. Patience: celebrate your progress, embrace the imperfections and have a little grace for this learning period // Links mentioned in show: // Email: hello@figandfarmathome.com Website: https://figandfarmathome.com Home Design 101: https://figandfarmathome.com/home-design-101 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/figandfarm/ Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/design101group

28 Apr 2022 | 75 // Spring into home series (pt. 3) - Cleaning // Is it REALLY possible to clean your home in one hour a week? This four part system teaches you how! | 00:38:17
Cleaning...LOVE it or HATE it?
Before I started using this FOUR part system for home cleaning, I only believed a clean house could happen one of these four ways (I always fell into category 1): 1. Company's coming...ALL the frenzied cleaning action needs to happen NOW! 2. Hire out...not worth your time or effort! 3. Cleaning...what's that and why bother? 4. Whistle while you mop because you LOVE cleaning!
THIS FOUR PART SYSTEM is a game changer! Cleaning in: * Manageable steps * An hour or less each week * Partnership with those you share your home with * Preparation for enjoying your home, rather than obligation
Cleaning is part three of our spring into home series - a foundational and systematic part that is essential before we begin to make our homes beautiful. Missed Part 2 (Organizing)? Listen here Missed Part 1 (Editing)? Listen here

05 Apr 2024 | 241 // Does your house feel boring, embarrassing, blah? 2 tips for using how it feels to inspire your design | 00:18:53
How does your home FEEL? When it comes to decorating our homes, we often stay stuck in a place of reason. Understandably so, especially when it comes to making practical decisions based on budget, decisions surrounding big ticket items, long term choices, etc. But FEELING shouldn't be dismissed. Knowing how you feel about your home in it's current state affects how you want your home to feel. And that feeling should be a filter for making decisions, just as much as your budget and your aesthetic are filters for making decisions.
In this episode we're talking about how feeling should be just as important as understanding your aesthetic and how to use it to inform decision making. So...how do you feel about your home?

29 Mar 2022 | 66 // When should art be centered? How big or small is TOO big or small? And what do I do if I have stripes on my walls? Three quick tips for hanging art the right way! | 00:09:36
Art is a wonderful way to tell your family's story with your personality, but how do you:
* Choose the right size * Know where to hang it * Hang it if there are stripes on the walls
Today's quick tip is designed to help you be successful when it comes to choosing art and knowing where to place it. Keep this ratio in mind when making your selection or choosing your location: 2/3 - 3/4
The measurement of your art should be between 2/3 and 3/4 the width of whatever furniture item is underneath it. * Have an 80" couch? Your art should measure ~54" - 60" * Have a 100" console? Your art should measure ~66" - 75"

12 Jul 2022 | 96 // Quick Tip - What happens when ALL your plans go awry? 4 tips for navigating next steps when things don’t quite go as planned! | 00:21:32
What happens when ALL the plans you have in place go awry? Haywire? Wonky? What ever you want to call it - it goes sideways and it goes there fast?! Do we throw in the towel and give up? NO!!! Do we push harder? NO!!! Do we start over? NO!!!
4 tips for navigating next steps when things don't quite go as planned: 1. Re-evaluate your goals: What were the original goals you had in mind before the plans went awry? Do those goals still apply or do you need to set new ones? 2. Assess and adjust your priorities: Are your goals in alignment with your priorities? If not, something needs to be adjusted. 3. Manage your expectations: What you expected to happen before your plans went awry isn't what's happening, so manage those expectations so you don't get frustrated, annoyed, disappointed, discouraged... 4. Give yourself some GRACE! Who are you letting down with the awry plans? You? Your kids? Your spouse? Your boss? Your own vision of success? Acknowledging what the cost is, is helpful for appropriately allowing yourself some grace!

12 Aug 2021 | 11 // Is home a feeling? Why it’s important to choose a feeling word in home design | 00:21:44
Quotes like "Home isn't a place, it's a feeling" or "There's no place like home" have become blasé quotes, but there's real meaning and truth to them if you dive a bit deeper. That's just what we're doing today - diving deep into why it's important to choose a feeling word as you move forward in home design. In truth, the feeling part is really what fig & farm (at home) is about. The pretty walls and knowing how to style a bookshelf is just icing on top of the proverbial cake. But the heart...there lies the real beauty.
17 Dec 2024 | 299 // Goal setting for your home? Don't forget THIS as you plan your new year's resolutions | 00:25:31
Hey friend! Have you ever set goals for your home? We set new goals or make resolutions each year - for better health, better fitness, learning a new skill...but what about goals we have for our homes? In this episode I'm sharing the importance of reflecting on how your home served you this past year (or if you served it) and how to make goals for your home that ultimately make you feel better about the place you lay your head each night. Goals can by physical with a tactical, tangible result or they can be social/emotional - tied to the feelings you have surrounding your home. Acknowledging the social/emotional goals you have for your home is just as important (if not, more so) than addressing the physical goals first. The art of creating goals for your home comes from reflecting on the ways your home met your needs and being honest about the steps toward remediation during the next year. Asking yourself what changes need to be made and what help you may need to accomplish those goals is a critical part of the journey. Grab a notebook and a pen - you're going to need it to for this episode. Ready to make a plan to meet your home goals in 2025? Schedule a Decorating SOS Coaching Call for the new year.

03 Dec 2024 | 295 // Craving slowness this holiday season? 6 ways to create a slower rhythm in your home this Christmas | 00:19:36
Hey friend, Every year it's the same. And every year I vow for it to be different. The holidays do something to me that ignite a desire to slow down, take it easy, to not overcommit my calendar. And every year, even with the best intentions, I end up feeling like time went by way to quickly, I missed the joy of a slower rhythm though I managed to check all the boxes - and I end up feeling disappointed. I don't think I'm alone in craving simplicity and slowness around the holiday. As a content creator I have the unique privilege to add to the chaos and noise - pushing my favorite products, must haves or home hacks that you absolutely need to try. Or...I can take a stand and say I don't want to add to the noise this holiday. I'm choosing the latter. For the next three weeks, we will be focusing on a mini series about Craving Simplicity. No tips, tricks or hacks to try to make your home look ten times prettier tomorrow than it does today. Simplicity - so you can enjoy the holiday sights and sounds with those you love most, in the place you share together...home! Enjoy the slow! Dani

09 Feb 2023 | 144 // Are your laundry piles overflowing? 3 ways to develop a laundry system that works | 00:32:33
Are your laundry piles overflowing?! If you said yes, join the thousands of women who complain daily about their laundry. It's the never-ending chore. Once you think you're done, you see another load that needs to be washed. But what do you DO about it? Searching on Pinterest is only part of the solution and will often yield a lot of ideas - so many ideas that you may leave feeling even more overhwelmed and confused at how to systemize it than you started. Develop your own system that works for your home, your family, your laundry. In this episode I share the system that works for me, but I don't expect it to be your solution. Instead, I'm breaking down the process I took to create my own in the hopes that you can do the same three things to navigate the problem, the solution and then creating a habit in order to be successful.

22 Nov 2022 | 121 // ”My outdoor living space is an oasis and everyone thinks I decorated it myself!” A behind the scenes look at Deb’s outdoor living space that was transformed by Home Design 101 | 00:30:33
Deb had just finished building an outdoor living area when she joined Home Design 101.
She wanted to learn how to decorate on her own and admittedly lacked confidence in her decision making. She would buy something she liked, bring it home, then realize it didn't quite work but she had NO IDEA WHY. Deb enjoyed being outside in her new outdoor living area, loved having guests over to share the space with, but she wanted it look and feel better - more cohesive - more her.
During the course of our ten weeks together, Deb had major breakthroughs! She learned to recognize her unique design style so she could make decisions (and future decisions) with confidence. She learned to create a vision board so she could see her product choices all together before spending a single dime. She learned how to create a color palette and which products it was important to spend more money on and which she could spend less on. And Deb walked away with an outdoor living space that is being called an oasis by those who visit!
If you want a home decorating breakthrough like Deb, where you learn the design basics so you can gain the skill, the tools and mostly the confidence to make design decisions on your own - Home Decorating 101 is open for registration. Today through Monday, November 28th when you register for Home Design 101 you will receive TWO BONUSES: * two 30 minute 1:1 coaching sessions with me * access to my Holiday Tablescape Workshop On Tuesday, November 29th the BONUSES GO AWAY and the PRICE GOES UP! 19 Apr 2024 | 243 // 3 ways you could be making decorating your home harder than it has to be | 00:29:06
Do you ever wonder why it's SO hard to decorate your home? In today's episode we're talking about 3 ways you could be making decorating harder than it has to be and what to do about it. Here it is in a nutshell...get help! If you are wanting a home that looks different (no matter WHAT that different is) tomorrow than it does today, get help. Somehow it's second nature to ask for help when we need to fix our toilet, lose weight or do our taxes, but somehow it feels frivolous when it comes to our homes. But, friend, your home environment is SO INCREDIBLY important - it nurtures you the way food nurtures you, the way kind words nurture you. Taking care to make intentional decisions is important and going it alone can be frustrating, overwhelming and down right confusing. Help doesn't always mean 'hire the fancy' designer...though it could. Help doesn't always mean 'take a course'...though it could. Help could literally mean asking your MIL who always seems to have a beautiful home, what her secrets are. How HONORED she would be for you to ask that question. As I share three things that could be holding you back in home decorating I want to you to ask the next question so you can go deeper and take the next right step. And if you have questions about what that could be for you, but don't have a MIL to ask - I'd be happy to answer. Email me at: hello@figandfarmathome.com

21 Feb 2023 | 147 // Sometimes MORE is better! A deep dive into the Cluttercore Decorating Style | 00:19:34
Cluttercore What is that? Cluttercore is a decorating style that is not quite Cottagecore (go back and listen to Episode 15) and not quite Maximalism, but it most definitely isn't minimalism. Cluttercore "revels in the idea of keeping things you love within reach and keeping your eyes full of the jumble it creates." Clutter sounds like the right descriptor. But what if clutter isn't your thing? That's OK...the idea behind Cluttercore is that you are surrounding yourself with the things that you love...aka your story. And THAT I couldn't agree more with.

12 Jan 2024 | 217 // What’s new in home design in 2024? | 00:17:24
Have you been waiting ALL year to know what's hot in home design this coming year?
Scouring through blogs, articles, Pinterest pins, Instagram posts...all the places...you might be surprised to know that not a lot has changed, trend-wise, going into 2024. We're still seeing sustainable materials, bringing the outdoors in, a move away from white, more color and more personality from last year. So what's my BIG takeaway?
Be mindful, intentional consumers who aren't afraid to make decisions for your home that make it look different than the home next door! Easy right?! In the next few weeks we'll dive into HOW to bring some of these 'trends' into your home design in a way that doesn't require tearing down walls or taking out a second mortgage. 05 Jan 2022 | 42 // Quick Tip: I HATE the way my home looks...but, where do I start in home decorating if I want to redecorate my entire house? | 00:21:37
"Where do I start when I want to (or need to) redecorate my entire home?" This is one of THE MOST ASKED QUESTIONS I receive and it's generally followed by overwhelm which leads to inaction. Not this year! This year, we are starting with reflections - asking ourselves why we hate out homes in the first place. What do we envision our homes to look and feel like and WHAT ARE THE BARRIERS to achieving that TODAY?
I'm hedging my bets and guessing that one of the most common barriers to TRULY loving your home is TOO MUCH STUFF...so that's what today's conversation is centered around. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF STUFF IS GETTING IN THE WAY: * of joy * of living a life of intention with the people you share your home with * truly loving the house you call home

14 Nov 2023 | 201 // 6 ways to create time to decorate your home when you think you have NONE | 00:11:35
Don't have TIME to decorate your home?
In this episode we determine if we lack time or we lack motivation? Sometimes our desire to make change is greater than our motivation to actually decorate and we confuse ourselves into thinking we have no time, when the reality is that we lack the motivation.
In an effort to find time when we think we have none, I teach you how to do a time audit so you can see the holes in your day when productivity can start. Then I give you five creative ideas for creating more time and/or motivating you into action. 1. Have a one week no screen time rule and see ALL the time that magically appears 2. Swapping with a friend (childcare, meal prep, or man power) 3. Have a Power Hour (at the beginning or end of your day) where you are waking early or going to bed late so you can have uninterrupted time in your day to get your work done. 4. Give yourself a carrot (an external motivator) for reaching your goal 5. Accountability (small group is best, you'll hear why and you'll also learn a suggestion for making it more fun for everyone)
You CAN create more time if you want it, but the question that needs to be asked and the answer revealed in truth...how motivated are you to create that time to make change happen?
As always, xo, dani

10 Dec 2024 | 297 // Do you confidently decorate for the holidays, but lack confidence the rest of the year? Here's WHY! | 00:17:21
Hey friend! In part 2 of the Craving Simplicity Holiday Series we're exploring how tradition and core memories directly lead to confident holiday decorating, but that decorating confidence seems to be packed away with the ornaments at the end of the holidays. So what is it about holiday decorating that allows us to roll with the punches, decorate confidently, experiment with new items and do it all joyfully when the rest of the year we stay stuck in indecision, paralysis or decision fatigue? In this episode we're exploring how tradition and core memories are usually at the heart of holiday decorating. Taking that same concept and applying it to story telling in your home the rest of the year is the mission. The story of YOU lies in your traditions and core memories and it's those stories that should be on display January - October! Ready to learn how to story tell in your home? 07 Dec 2021 | 37 // Quick Tip Tuesday: How do I lighten up a dark entryway? | 00:12:42
It may be dramatic to say that your entryway says a lot about the family living within the home, but considering it's the first room your guests walk through when they come over, it should feel inviting. Your entryway should be sending the message...you're welcome here. So what happens when your entryway feels more like a cave than a portal to comfort and invitation? How do you bring light to an otherwise dark area of your home? And most importantly, how do you create the illusion of light when there are no windows in the area? Remediating a dark area of your home (in the case of this question, your entryway) starts by identifying why it's dark in the first place. Other than having no windows, what are the things that are making that corner of your home dark in the first place? Once we identify those things, we can begin remediating. Listen in to today's episode to find out what questions you should be asking as you begin remediating your dark entryway.

15 Sep 2022 | 105 // Have a Target sized budget for home decorating? Try these 5 affordable ways to add personality to your home! | 00:21:25
Have a Target sized budget, but want to add personality to your home? Try these 5 things! .........................................................................
1. Add a touch of whimsy Whimsical touches add personality to your home's design, but what is whimsy? Whimsy is the un-expected, the conversational pieces, the eye candy. 2. Uplevel the way you style your decor It doesn't matter if you have a $0.77 vase or a $77 vase, it matters how you style it. Grab the Bookshelf Style Guide so you can up level the way you style bookshelves, mantles, tables capes, coffee tables, etc. https://bit.ly/bookstyleguide 3. Change out the builder-grades Builder grade design elements that come with your home can be an easy way to add your personality to your home's design. Think: light fixtures, hardware, mirrors, even doorknobs. 4. Build - it Building something yourself, like a dinging table or a bookshelf is a wonderful way to add your personality to your space without spending a lot of money, but what happens if you don't know how to build. Can you take an already built piece and modify it? Like adding moulding to a bookcase or new upholstery to a bench. 5. Shop small This is where the personality lives...small shops like antique stores, thrift stores, vintage markets, flea markets, second hand stores. These stores will not only have unique pieces to furnish your home, but are offered at prices that are sometimes a fraction of the price at big-box stores.

10 May 2022 | 78 // If I only had $100 to spend in my living room, what would I do?! A specific guide to shopping for BIG impact change when you have a small budget! | 00:15:01
"I only have $100 to spend on my living room upgrade. Is it worth it? Should I make any changes at all or save it for later?" Those were the questions I received from Sara when she approached me with questions about using her small budget. Sara was in for a BIG surprise when I mentioned how I would spend every penny in order to make mighty change in her living room. Step 1: ditch the pillows that came with the couch Step 2: purchase new pillows Step 3: use left over money to buy plants because plants go with everything
When listening to this episode, you may want to grab a notebook and pen because I not only tell Sara how I would make BIG impact change in her living room, I tell her where I would source the products in order to honor her $100 budget.

25 Nov 2021 | 34 // Is gratitude a buzz word? | 00:20:55
On this day of thanks, Thanksgiving 2021, we're chatting about gratitude. What does it mean, truly, and why is it such a buzz word? Can you increase the amount of gratitude in your life and why would you?
Gratitude is the practice of being thankful. Gratitude, when given and received, increases dopamine - basically...it makes you feel happy. Gratitude begets gratitude. Simply put, the more you give, the happier you feel. I give you three easy ways to start practicing gratitude today: 1. Start observing the little things that you are grateful for 2. Name those little things - and name them for someone else: your kids, your spouse, yourself in a journal 3. Be mindful of the company you keep, the conversations you have, the media you consume

24 Oct 2023 | 195 // How important is choosing a color palette to create flow throughout your home? It’s THIS important! | 00:12:32
Creating a cohesive flow throughout your home starts by choosing a color palette that can flow seamlessly room to room!
If you are wondering why your home doesn't look cohesive...check your color palette. Then, check other things too, like repetition of design elements, layers, etc (you can find ALL of that inside HOME DESIGN 101). In this episode I am sharing the most basic way you can create a color palette to use as a foundational backdrop for creating a cohesive home. Plugging your palette into a formula and checking that formula for general accuracy, as well as items that could negate (or bully) your palette will help 'fact check' how your formula is performing for you in your home.
