These goals will not only help your body on a physiological level, but also on an emotional one - so you approach the 'new year' ahead from a more grounded standpoint.
In today's episode we're covering:

Road Rage, Traffic Stress and Giving the Finger: Controlling WHAT it Does to Your Body
00:25:15
Traffic tests us like few other things can. I was tested today and I FULLY failed, and my rage got the better of me. SO why not share it with the world!
The thing is, we all lose our tempers now and again. But if you sit in traffic a lot, or are highly reactive whenever you DO sit in traffic - that can start to take a real toll on the body.
So in today's episode, in addition to sharing what happened to me on the road a few hours ago, we're going to talk about some strategies we can use when we're stuck in traffic so that it doesn't send our cortisol flying.
Today we're covering:

Hello Rant, it's me Kyle. It's Time to Talk About the Nutrition & Wellness Industry
00:23:59
I’ve been doing something I shouldn’t have been doing lately, I’ve been reading the comment section. The nutrition and wellness space is so confusing, and extreme, filled with so much click bait.
I've mentioned before that I have a love/hate relationship with this industry.
So in today’s episode, I’m letting that built-up frustration out and going on a little rant.
No screaming, I promise!! But there are some points I’d like to make. So pull up a chair and let’s get to it!
Today we’re covering:

My tipping point
Experts dismissing other experts
Extreme documentaries

Rude People, and What We Can Do About Them (**PLUS a phone call to Jordan Gavaris!**)
00:33:30
Lately, there has been an increasingly alarming number of rude people I've come across. This week - for whatever reason - the moon, the water, the air, it's been one rude interaction after another.
Some days, they don't really bother me. Other days, they can hijak my entire day and drain my energy. Please tell me this sounds familar.
So in today's episode - we've got a lot going on. We're diving into all things RUDE. Plus we're calling my good friend Jordan Gavaris (who is also a wonderful actor you've seen in shows like Orphan Black and The Lake) who, like me, also was dealing with rude people this week.

Today’s episode is one of my favourite ones to date.
Comedian Debra DiGiovanni is quite frankly, an icon. Her humour, honesty and vulnerability were a few of the MANY reasons I wanted her to come on this show.

calling out childhood bullies on stage

The thing is? NOW is the time to really get ahead of it, to start implementing some strategies to support your biology so you have a smooth winter ahead.

If you feel drained or sluggish more often than not, and can’t seem to figure out why - today’s episode is for you.

Navigating Body Image, Bad Agents and Big Smiles with Jordan Gavaris!
01:15:48
Today, Jordan Gavaris is getting candid and honest (and charmingly funny).
From body image issues and internalized shame, to navigating homophobic "advice" from agents and finding success on a massive scale in a harsh industry - we're getting into it all today. And spilling some tea (both of us).
We live in our own unique worlds, and when it comes to body image and how we see ourselves - that is a very personal, individual and sometimes LONELY thing.
So in hearing more stories, like Jordan's today - and getting insight into other people’s experiences, it can help expand our own understanding, and remind us that the journey of self-perception is personal BUT also universally shared.
And hopefully it can lead us to be more compassionate towards ourselves.
**Disclaimer: we talk body image, as well as eating disorders in todays episode. If this is a sensitive area for you please listen with caution, or not at all if it’s not the right fit for you at this time**
We're covering a lot today, including:
How Jordan's start in acting began and BlockBuster Days
Body image reality after Jordan's first movie premier
bad auditions and serendipitous moments
Coming out Publicly - and Jordan's regret in a major interview
Watching out for 'give the gay away' tells

Navigating Weight Loss & Impressive Entrepreneur Wins with Gina Livy
00:56:15
Today's guest is the wonderful Gina Livy.
Over the years I have received a lot of DMs from people asking me if I know Gina, if I'm familiar with her work and her weight loss approach. And my answer is always a resounding yes.
And after today's conversation, I'm an even bigger fan than I was before.
We talk about her approach to weight-loss in today's episode, BUT also get into her evolution as an entrepreneur, and getting told countless times that she’s charging TOO LITTLE for what she offers. But as you'll hear, she came out on top - building a multimillion dollar business (we’re talking over 8 figures) - and she did that by following her gut.
***And I want to make the point that we do talk about weight-loss in this episode, and it can be a tricky subject to navigate. Especially because we just talked about body image last month on this very show. But I think it’s important to note that the two subjects are not synonymous. Weight does not correlate with worth, and I want to recognize that there are a lot of unhealthy obsessions and messaging about weight that we still hear about today.
But the fact remains that some of us, at different points in our lives, might want to take steps to lose weight for a variety of reasons. And it’s important when that choice is made, to lose weight in a sustainable, healthy way and not some extreme crash diet that most of the time does NOT work. There are many healthy, sustainable ways to do it, and Gina’s Method, I believe, is one of them.
We're covering:
Gina's own journey with weight loss
What the Livy Method is
an underrated factor when it comes to successful weight-loss
navigating online hate when running a weight loss business
building a massive business and going from a team of 1 to a team of 47
Gina's feelgood thing
Gina's advice for any entrepreneur battling doubt
About Gina: Gina Livy is the founder and CEO of Weight Loss by Gina, best selling author, and creator of The Livy Method.
She is redefining weight loss with her revolutionary method that helps people lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. Throughout her 30-year career, Gina has helped thousands of people reach their Finally and Forever weight loss goals, while inspiring them to design the life of their dreams.Gina’s fun, engaging, and no-nonsense approach to weight loss has resonated with audiences across the world with members from more than 55 countries, over 4.2M podcast downloads, and a rapidly growing community of Livy Losers.

Step by Step for Performance Nerves: This is My *Personal* Pre-Show Routine
00:21:10
It’s a sore sore feeling when nerves get the best of you, especially for something you REALLY wanted to excel at.
However we want to phrase it - performance anxiety, stage fright, butterflies, interview-nerves . . . it all produces a similar feeling in the moments leading up to needing to be “on” and perform at your best.
And these feelings - I should note - are completely normal, they can even be helpful . . . but it’s when they become all consuming and that sheer PANIC sets in - that's when it becomes a problem, and no longer serves you.
Annoyingly - I’ve had many times over the years where the nerves and panic got the better of me, and my performance suffered as a result. And even though I ‘perform’ in different ways on a more regular basis now - whether through morning tv segments, podcast interviews or keynotes… the truth is, as an anxious-leaning person, the butterflies still very much come up.
The *DIFFERENCE* now though - after over a decade of trial and error, is that I’ve developed a pre-show routine that helps lay a calm foundation, so that when the time comes to be “on” I’m thinking clearly and able to perform at my best.
And I’m sharing that step by step with you today.
Feel free to take one or all and try them on for size, especially if you’ve got something important coming up - in which case - you've GOT this. 😉

Far from Placebo: The Rundown on Homeopathy with Rachel Roberts
01:08:29
If there’s a healing modality that can bring up some polarizing opinions… it’s homeopathy.
Some say it’s incredibly effective (even where all else fails), some scoff it off as nothing but placebo. Others don’t understand what it is at all, or how to use it . . .
So today- we’ve got an incredible expert on the show. Rachel Roberts is the Chief Executive at the Homeopathy Research Institute, and she’s separating fact from fiction in today’s episode.
Personally, I’ve been using homeopathy since I was a kid, and it’s something I continue to use today in conjunction in with other modalities (which is a big opinion I’ll get into in this episode).
I believe it to be an incredibly useful tool in our toolbox, and for those who might not know what it is, or are feeling skeptical- today’s episode is definitely worth a listen.
We're Covering:
Rachel’s explanation of what homeopathy is
how she started as a major skeptic, and how that changed (*hint- the Royal Family played a part)
not just placebo - what the evidence says
known conditions that have more evidence
Rachel’s opinion on “no side effects” when it comes to homeopathy (it’s not what you think!)
challenges when it comes to homeopathic research
homeopathy for agriculture and an alternative to pesticides
damaging headlines
Rachel’s feelgood thing
About Rachel Rachel has a First-Class Honours degree in Biological Sciences specialising in Physiology from the University of Birmingham. She graduated from the College of Homeopathy, London in 1997 and was in private practice as a homeopath until 2012. Rachel has lectured in homeopathy and medical sciences at various colleges in the UK and overseas. She held the post of Research Consultant for the Society of Homeopaths from 2008-2012 and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2013 to acknowledge her outstanding contribution to Homeopathy. Rachel joined the HRI part-time in 2010 and has worked for the Institute on a full-time basis since 2012. In 2018 Rachel was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Faculty of Homeopathy for her highly regarded work in the field of homeopathic research.

Does Intermittent Fasting Increase Your Risk of Death? *The Power of a Headline on Your Health*
00:15:32
If this headline made you do a double take, you're not alone.
We know that the nutrition world can be incredibly confusing, and frankly, incredibly annoying.
Part of the reason I do this podcast is to vent about my frustrations about the industry, because sometimes it really is exhausting to see all of the contradictory information out there. And it can leave us feeling like there’s not even a point in trying, which doesn’t serve us.
Recently, a headline came out stating that intermittent fasting might be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular death . . . which is a very dramatic statement. So in today’s episode, I want us to eat a major grain of salt and really break this all down, so you feel equipped to come to your own conclusions.
We're covering:
what I did immediately when this article was sent to me
what was the study that made this claim? was it a published study?
why are observational studies tricky?
let's play devil's advocate . . . what could be a reason for this finding? why could intermittent fasting increase the risk of cardiovascular death?
why it could be more important that ever to focus on this one macronutrient
the takeaway

System Check: What Takes Your Magic Away?
00:14:07
This is for the days, or times in our lives where we just feel like something's off. Where maybe things are fine, but you just don't feel "like you" and you're not sure why.
There can be a lot of reasons - and in today's episode, we're taking stock of one of them. And we're narrowing in on a visual that might help us become aware of how valuable our energy actually is . . . and who we spend that energy on.
Another word for energy . . is magic (which, let's be honest, is just more fun to think about). If magic is too corny a thought, you can use light, or that spark - whatever fuels the best version of yourself.
Today - we're getting honest, and delving into what might be taking your magic away.

Overwhelmed or Highly Sensitive? Why Tapping Can Be the Thing You Didn't Know You Needed. My own Coach Betsy Dwight is HERE!
00:57:50
If you're an over-thinker, or someone who feels emotions intensely, today’s episode is for you.
I’m joined by Betsy Dwight, an expert (and my coach!) in EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), to discuss how this powerful tool can help you process emotions in a healthy, productive way.
If you've been listening to the past few episodes - you know that lately, I’ve been feeling everything more intensely, and am more quick to anger. I also know I'm not alone in this.
The weight of emotions can feel overwhelming. And that's where tapping comes in— it's something FREE to do (nothing needed but your fingers) - and it's been a HUGE help in my life since I started doing it last spring.
Not only will Betsy outline the concept, she'll also do a (quick) LIVE session with me, where I get real honest and process what's been going on.
And in this episode, Betsy shares how EFT can help you reconnect with your intuition and release built-up emotional tension.
We’re covering:
How losing touch with your intuition happens, especially for sensitive, ambitious individuals
What EFT tapping is
How it works to regulate your nervous system and energy system
The types of emotional and physical challenges EFT can help address
The surprising speed at which people see results from tapping
Betsy walking me through my issues in a tapping sequence for anger
About Betsy: Betsy Dwight created Sensitive Soul: Coaching + Healing from her personal experience as an ambitious, overly analytical, highly sensitive woman living in a pressured world that disconnected her from her greatest strength: her intuition.
She is a certified EFT Tapping practitioner with a specialty in mindfulness coaching. Betsy holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, along with advanced studies in Applied Mindfulness, yoga therapeutics, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping).
With an intuitive and compassionate approach, Betsy combines her clinical experience and somatic practices to equip her clients with the skills needed to navigate strong emotions, tame their overthinking tendencies, and reconnect with themselves. She finds joy in helping guide others to discover their inner strengths and live their most aligned and authentic lives.

We’re Covering:
How anxiety fills your brain and keeps you frozen in place
Why clarity and anxiety don’t mix—and what actually creates clarity
